Castor’s Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars Book 2) by Tai James – Review by Charlene Gonzalez

Castor's Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars # 2)Castor’s Kiss by Tai James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amazing book I ever read. See I am the type that loves fantasies like vampires, wolves, demons, and angels but this book is far different I love how Mia fights every day for her life. Inspiring women figure that her life was bad at first but then she turned it around but love can take you for a spin. Would love to save you or put you back in danger? But what about Castor? He tells Mia that he came for her. Mia is no dumbing…

Swift and full of action! This book was bursting full of dramatic, lethal fighting sequences. The strong, brave heroine who has a quick tongue makes it hard to not instantly like her. That coupled with her newly-found bond to a mysterious alien made the plot so much more exciting.

Paige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia – Review by M Policicchio

Paige and the Reluctant ArtistPaige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I was so excited for this book when I read the blurb. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The story is sweet. Mark is a wealthy rescuer of horses. Mark’s parents died when he was young, leaving him with a desire to help animals and the means to do so. Mark has a hidden talent, painting. He paints with such skill and feeling that you can practically feel the power and muscle of each horse he paints. Paige, a sought after gallery curator, spots a painting of Mark’s. Paige is enthralled. She must get him to agree to a show in New York at the gallery she represents. Paige goes to Montana, where Mark lives, to get him to agree to paint for her gallery. Instalove connection. Each has their own baggage they have to battle to allow themselves to believe that they could love again.

I enjoyed the description of the scenery, the paintings, and the horses. The author did a fantastic job with these elements. For me, it was the lack of dialogue that bogged this sweet story down. I needed to hear these characters more to connect. The author told me everything I needed to know but, again for me, left me wanting more interaction not only with the characters but between the characters.

Maybe this delightful story just wasn’t my cup of tea after my typical fare. The story is enchanting, the characters darling. I just didn’t connect. Sorry.

What a lovely romance story centred around some heart-warming characters. These are the kind of characters that I can easily get lost in and find myself reading through the whole book without realising. The author has captured the essence of a small town romance while providing an interesting and engaging story.
The characters really did make this story for me though. I was just drawn to them and really connected with them right from the word go. I found myself rooting for them almost immediately and I couldn’t wait to see how their story would turn out. This author never fails to produce a book I enjoy and this is just another one to add to that list. A brilliant read I thoroughly enjoyed.

Watcher (Star-Crossed Celestials Book 1) by A.L. Morrow – Review by Kerry Carr

Watcher (Star-Crossed Celestials Duet #1)Watcher by A.L. Morrow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this romance story. It is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet but with a MM romance. This story is full of Forbidden Love, and the twists and turns to find their happy ever after. I also loved the twist of it being about messengers(angels) and watchers (fallen angels).
There is a war between them and with watchers being left on earth they teamed up and supported the demons to fight against the angels.
I’m not going to give too much away but the romance is between a watcher and a messenger so you can imagine the problem that brings with the sides being at war.
The author does an amazing job at retelling the classic tale and adding the unique twist of the paranormal storyline. The characters are really well written and their personalities really jumped off the page. You will feel like you know them personally but the end.

Mia is a woman who hasn’t had a lot of luck over the last few years, she has been kidnaped, tortured and now she is fighting for her life in an arena on Planet Nod which is run by a sadistic individual who runs an arena where Mia has to fight to the death everyday, but she is damn good at it and has become a fan favourite. The fact that she has survived all of this is a miracle, but it has changed her, however, she has never forgotten the dream of escaping and trying to go back to her old life, but it has felt so far away for a long time that she has resigned herself to her fate, but one day that all changes.

Castor is an Atlantean and his race have been reclusive, but he is about to bring them into the light and become a bit of a spectacle when he goes to liberate her, however, he soon comes to realise that this will not be as simple as he first planned. When Castor and Mia first lay eyes on each other, they cannot look away and this is something neither of them expected and it is this that leads them into trouble as Castor’s plan goes awry and the two end up thrown together in the arena and have to make a decision in order to survive, although Mia does not trust easily and she doesn’t believe that Castor is meant to be her saviour, she can’t.

The owner of the arena decides that both Mia and Castor are going to have to fight in the ultimate fighting challenge and battle for their survival, so as she explains just what they have gotten themselves into and how this challenge works, they both devise an escape plan, but while this is all happening, they cannot deny that there is a growing attraction between them, no matter how much they try, it is at this point that Castor realises that Mia is his soulmate, but Mia is shocked and struggles to accept it.

Will Castor and Mia be able to escape the arena before the big battle or will death come before escape and how will their bond as fated mates get in the way, or enable them to overcome the odds stacked against them? This is a fast paced fantasy where the odds are against everyone and danger lies around every turn which will draw you in and keep you invested all the way through.

Kiss A Thief by Marina Hanna is a fun romance with a love aspect – as well as sizzling relationship, out of this world encounters, hilarious, tension, crime and investigating, mystery, trusting problems. When Billionaire Dylan Knight meets Mia Harris the love starts right away. When I say love starts right away their minds go straight to each other, can’t take their minds off the other. Why did they meet? What is really going on? Is one being set up to take the fall for the other? When bad things happen I think they are both set up to fail. Dylan and Mia,  were great together and I don’t think anyone would mind if they fell hard for each other. I think they were an easy couple to get connected with. Did not want to see them fail. I thought the beginning of the story was a little slow but then the last part of the story felt a little rushed to get everything in the final story. Things that were made quite an issue in the story suddenly didn’t seem to matter much anymore, or were brushed over/aside. I really liked the story line, just seemed like after everything happened it was no big deal. I look forward to many more books to come. Happy reading! Thank you, Marina Hanna!

This was such a great read. With everything going on in the world right now, it was a perfect way to emphasize and describe what a global pandemic can cause. The way the author humanized the characters and their struggles with the self and wanting to do the right things was so good.

This book made me ugly cry. Not just the lone tear that I normally shed but actually sobs. The emotion bleeds off the pages and I was drawn straight into the world. I love the writing, so easy to connect with and raw. This book takes off right where book 1 ended and it didn’t take me long to be swept away into Cam’s life. This was not an easy ride and every blow felt so real. The creation of the world, the character development and the whole concept just comes together flawlessly. Can’t wait to launch into book 3.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Fantastic book!!! I am so glad I picked up this book to read and I was hooked from page 1. This contemporary romance had such a great story and message, clean, enjoyable and I can totally relate to the characters, especially Corrie.

Corrie is hard working daughter on the Lancaster Family farm. Sun up to sun down, harvesting what she can to help save her family farm. She has past hurts…a broken heart from long ago that she is trying to forget and the heart break it ensued. When one of her farming hands quits, she is desperate to find some help. The help offered is none other than Aaron, Tuttle, who happens to the other brother of a boy Corrie dated long ago, Luke Tuttle. Sparks fly between Aaron and Corrie but with caution. While Corrie is trying to keep her family together, help out someone in need who also need and someone from the past also revenge. Will Corrie be able to manage everything on her plate and also choose between Luke, her past love or Aaron, who is there when she needs him the most?

This story is all about past hurts, new love, and forgiveness….and flowed so easily. I couldn’t put the book down. What a great read!!

Key to His Heart by Kristina Beck – Review by Beverly Finnie

Key To His HeartKey To His Heart by Kristina Beck
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m in love with this book! Key to his Heart is the love that everyone wants. It’s instant, it’s easy but definitely will always take patience and work to keep it going. The author wrote two beautiful main characters, one coming from a loving family. The other having been mentally broken, been there done that l could write the book.
I feel like Katrina is my kindred spirit. I relate to her in so many ways. Especially with the premonition type dreams. I’m one of those people who has those types of things. I’m just not fully in tune to the ability to use it correctly. Seeing it in a book I’m reading feels like a breath of fresh air. it’s definitely not easy explaining it to others, it’s also something people think you’re joking about. Does that happen in this book? Does TJ find out about it and struggle with the knowledge?
She gave her child my name, not that she knows it. TJ’s thoughts when he hears Katrina call her son Toby for the first time. He’s never met anyone like her. He’s also starting to believe that there are signs everywhere pushing the two of them together.
Is this all too good to be true?
Does the other shoe drop, and this book becomes a disaster?
These are some of the questions one asks themselves when reading this book. You will just have to read to find out the andsoop
It’s a sweet romance, filled with every emotion being front and center. Deep seeded pain can bring these two together, but it could also destroy what is being built between them. That happen chance encounter turned out to be so much more!

Katrina (Kat) Klenkos moved to a small town in Pennsylvania to raise her baby after her husband asked for a divorce. She can’t even understand how he could sign off his rights to his own son. But fate and visions have brought Kat to this town. In a twist of fate, Kat meets the guy that she’s been dreaming about and recognizes his voice. What happens next is truly amazing but it’s, not quite the right time for them to connect.

TJ, a chemistry teacher and high school football coach is heading over to help his aunt’s tenant paint her baby’s room and put together some furniture. What TJ doesn’t know is he’s about to meet Kat who will change his life for the better!

I don’t want to spoil the book because it’s amazing. There’s love, family, romance, and some supernatural things that explains the instant connection Kat and TJ feel. This book surprised me and kept me wondering. At one point I thought I knew what would happen and let me tell you, it’s so much better than my review. This author is new to me and I can’t wait to read more of her books.

A powerful and emotional story about a family coming together to keep their farm running after a tragic accident leaves their father disabled.
This book was so much more than I was expecting! Coming from a small farming town this story really hit home. Jessica Berg’s descriptions of the landscape and her attention to detail are so vivid and beautiful, the Lancaster’s journey was made all the more realistic. I absolutely loved it! Amber Waves Of Grace is a heartwarming and inspirational tale that at times drove me to tears. Very well written and relatable! It has everything you could ever want: a believable story, a genuine romance, and even a compelling mystery! I highly recommend reading Amber Waves of Grace and joining the Lancaster family through all their ups and downs!

This is my first read from this author. This book started out a little slow for me, but I will be looking for book 2 to see if her writing style gets better for me. This was a good military romance book, with a little kick of revenge thrown in. Oh, and did I mention the added bonus of the BDSM in the book? Yeah, I think that is what did it for me in the end.

Murder Most Pemberley (Eliza Darcy Mysteries Book 1) by Jessica Berg – Review by Kayla Kearney

Murder Most Pemberley (Eliza Darcy Mysteries Book 1)Murder Most Pemberley by Jessica Berg
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As a huge fan of all things Pride and Prejudice, the moment I stumbled across this book I knew that I needed to read it! It didn’t take me very long to fall in love with Eliza, who the author did a fantastic job of turning into a modern-day mix of Agatha Christie and the lovable Elizabeth ‘Lizzy’ Bennet Darcy of the original book. I loved that the author put time and effort into the other characters, making it obvious to readers of the Pride and Prejudice book which descendants there at the reunion resemble the main characters of the original book. Due to the name of the book, I knew it would be a mystery novel, and the author blew me away with how she was able to develop the mystery while also throwing a bit of romance into the novel. Can’t wait to read the next in the series!

KISS A THIEFKISS A THIEF by Marina Hanna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hot and steamy contemporary romance. Yes please.

Mia and Dylan’s chemistry creates sparks from page 1. Both with past relationships that cause them to be weary to fall and love and allow themselves to open up to another. But from the first time they lay eyes on each other they can’t help their desire for each other.
When a large problem arises will they be able to work though it, will their love for each other persevere?

My only dislike was how quickly the book ended. I would have loved to have a bit more of the resolution to tue conflict to close it out.

Other than that I can’t wait for the other books in this series!

I love a good historical romance set in medieval times and Love in the Roses definitely delivers. This book is well-written and gives a realistic depiction of a medieval romance. There is a nice slow-burn romance between Isabel and Sir William. They are a wonderfully written couple and I really enjoy watching them grow. The author pays great attention to detail and you can really get into the story. This story is steamy and sweet. I really enjoyed this book.

The two main characters, Mia and Dylan had such a fiery chemistry that was palpable from the first moment that they met. Key to His Heart is a great romance story about two people who have had pain in the past and they fall in love. Katrina has had her heart broken. She meets TJ and there is an instant connection between them. Towards the middle of the book, TJ and Katrina realize that they are soulmates. They were destined to be together. This story has a great happily ever after ending with TJ and Katrina having a family. I love that TJ proposed to Katrina with a key necklace instead of a ring. That was a very unique way to show how much he loved her. I also like that the author used her own struggles with epilepsy in the story with Katrina. Not many people talk about the mental health issues that people have. I didn’t realize that there were four different types of epilepsy either. I recommend anyone that loves romance books and is a hopeless romantic to read this story.

I’m Not Your Difference (Fitz Series Book 4) by Theresa Sederholt – Review by Sarah King

I'm Not Your Difference (Fitz, #4)I’m Not Your Difference by Theresa Sederholt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After his husband left him, with just a note, Andy has worked hard to pick up the pieces of himself. Just as he is finally ready to dip his toes back in the dating pool, his ex, Stephan, comes back around wanting a second chance. Andy talks these things through with best friend and brother-in-law Fitz. In this process, Andy finds out that there is a suspected serial killer killing guy men in manners that suggest suicide.

Will Andy hear Stephan out? Will he allow him a second chance? Will Andy find someone new? Will Andy end up in the cross hairs of a killer?

I’m Not Your Difference is the fourth book in the Fitz Series by Theresa Sederholt. While this story can be read as a standalone I will note that I believe reading them in order would probably give better background, history and depth of the characters and how they came to be in each other’s lives. Many of the support characters seem to have been in the series from the beginning which is what led me to the read in order suggestion. I personally have not read the first three books. I did fall in love with many of the characters present in Andy’s story and cant wait to go back to read the other’s stories. I would absolutely recommend this book.
****NOTE I will note that there are some graphic non consensual scenes and violence in the story that may be a trigger for some.****
