This was my first time reading this author and it will not be my last! Amy McKinley sucks you into a world of romance and suspense.
Kayla and Jaxon have always held feelings for one other, especially since sharing a night together years ago. Unfortunately, this night together is where it started to fall apart, since Jaxon was supposed to be with Kayla’s brother the night they were together. Kayla’s brother passes away that same night leaving Kayla feeling eternally guilty.
Flash-forward years later and Kayla and Jaxon reunite when Kayla returns home running away from an abusive relationship. Jaxon, always having feelings for Kayla, takes her in. Him being former military definitely helps protect her from her abusive ex.
This book was a great, fun, romantic read. The suspense kept me reading longer than I intended every time I started reading.

This is the third audiobook in this series that I have listened to and enjoyed. I highly suggest listening to the entire series to help you get the feeling of this series but it is not necessary. I enjoyed how the narrator brought the story to life with their tone of voice. It kept me listening because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. In this audio we get to listen to Hannah and Jack’s story. Their story is one of learning to trust and second chances. What will happen when Hannah is accused of being a traitor and will Jack be willing to risk it all to save her? This was a great story to listen to on my way to work. It was entertaining and the characters just popped. I highly recommend this audiobook.

Terrifying Love: A Halloween Anthology is a collection of stories and poems that some fantastic authors. I loved that each and every one of these stories were completely different from each other. And it was such a bonus that one of the authors has done poems. They aren’t something I usually read and yet I devoured it all. I had read a few of these authors already but some where new to me. I enjoyed each of them for different reasons and they are all authors I would read more of in the future. I think this has to be one of my favourite anthologies and I would highly recommend it.

I read the prequel Sons of Sindicato and had high hopes for this book and it did not let me down! First off the men in this book are exactly what I want to see in a book about this subject matter. They are strong, defined, harsh, but you can feel that family is everything. They all brought a very firm hand and character to the forefront. Dane and Mila loved each other many years ago and while Mila left you can understand why and what she was trying to accomplish. I’ll be honest, there’s not much to root for where Mila is concerned for part of this book, but as you delve deeper in you gain an understanding and you start to see the growth especially with how she handles things at the end. Dane on the other hand, you can feel his heartache and pain from the get go and I love that the authors showed that raw, mean, payback, vindictive side of a man who has been burned. I appreciated that he wasn’t a puppy dog, but instead a man who knew what he would and wouldn’t tolerate. The conversations between Seth and Dane were engaging and kept me on my toes wanting more. The authors did a great job of bringing the women together in this book, Mila, Shaw, & Gia showing them not only as strong, independent, vibrant women, but instead of all the cattiness you often are given with women they went a different route showing that women are more than capable of leaning on each other, sharing, and not being jealous. The way the women start to form their own group was one of my favorite things and I can’t wait for those relationships to grow. I’m hoping that there will be more to Shaw and Seth as I didn’t feel they got nearly enough story time between the two books and would like to really see more backstory for them like we got for Dane and Mila. The ending was a HUGE surprise and was so beautifully written that you never saw it coming you will sit with your mouth open and then use that mouth to curse out the authors for not already having the next book done. if you want a book with strong female and male characters, that has suspense, excitement, so much more you will want to grab this one over and over. So far one of my favorite reads of the year, easily.

This is the second book in the series and I do recommend reading book 1 first. This book focuses on Jaxson and Kayla. Kayla is on the run from an abusive relationship and the author does an incredible job of showing all the different emotions you may encounter with that history. She portrays the female MC as vulnerable but with incredible strength as you “watch” her. I love that the author portrayed Jaxson as a very strong MC, but one who was sensitive to what Kayla had been through. I felt it brought not only a realness to his character, but also made you feel the internal struggle. The relationship in this story encompassed so much that I found it incredibly hard to put the book down. The author has a unique way of weaving words so that you feel like you are watching this on tv and you feel everything. This is so far my favorite book in the series and I can not wait for book 3. When I choose a romantic suspense book, this is what I am looking for and the author did not disappoint.

Twisted Secrets was everything I look for in a romantic suspense book. Xander seems to be what I consider a man’s man, strong, fierce, but gentle. Riley, while plagued with some issues is a strong female character. This story had romance, mystery, and unexpected twists. I loved that it kept me completely engaged from page one with the plot and storytelling. The book was a quick read, easily able to do in a single sitting. If you like a story with suspense, action, and mystery then you will enjoy this one.

Well, well, well…….. I definitely need a cold shower after this!!! Miss Aubrey Bondurant you just made yourself a new fan!! Some tropes have been done A LOT, enemies to lovers are one of them BUT Miss Understanding is sooooo freaking good I didn’t mind it at all. And don’t get me started on the Narration, both these narrators are new to me and I’m definitely going to look for more books by them. The characters are AMAZING but I have to admit that I was screaming at Liam a couple of times and I might have called him a few bad names. That just shows you how good the writing is….. when you have emotional outbursts towards a character!!!

Secure Decision is the 5th book in the excellent Chase Security Series by R.L. Dunn. I have absolutely adored this series so far and this book was just as good, if not better then the others before it. Secure Decision is an excellent romantic suspense novel. I love a good romance story but R.L. Dunn takes them to another level by adding the suspense, intrigue and danger that make this book a page turner. I was totally hooked from the very first pages right up to the very end. You are taken on the most amazing roller coaster journey that brings out every emotion. I loved the 2 main characters Wes and Eleanor. One thing I personally loved is that Eleanor is a larger, curvier lady with insecurities about her size. In most romance novels the main female is slim with a gorgeous body but I love that R.L. Dunn chose to have a leading lady with a larger body. I also loved how Wes loved her curves and made every attempt to tell her and show her how alluring and sexy he found her body. One thing I mention with with every review from this series is that I’m amazed that R.L. Dunn can keep up with all the characters. The cast list is very extensive and at times I had to stop and think who some characters were (especially as some we using more then one name!!). This doesn’t affect my enjoyment of the book as it’s an amazing story with amazing characters. I’m just in awe of how the author manages to keep track of all the characters. I’ve loved this series so far and hope that there is much more to come from it. I’m especially desperate to get Troy’s story. That man definitely needs a HEA.

Dunn – Review by Karyn Taylor
While this story had a LOT of twists and turns and intrigue I did struggle quite a bit. The character list is extensive and most of the characters have three names they go by. Its a challenge to follow the main story when all are used along with the quantity. Speaking of the main story…its a doozie. I loved the idea of horse therapy facility especially for vets. This seems a minor plot point. As with most Chase Securities stories there is something bigger brewing.
I think my favorite character in here is Troy “Greece” Bremen. He has been a minor through the last couple books and in here he had a little larger role. I enjoy watching his changes and growth through his recuperation. Wes and Eleanor are both fine but they both are harboring secrets and are very intensely involved in the drama and chaos which is too much for me.
Overall this is a good story if you enjoy lots of action, suspense, drama and twists and turns like I haven’t seen in a while. This can be read as a stand alone but there are a few references to past books. I did enjoy where the title comes from and the actual journey that the MC’s took. I just had a few issues with this one and didn’t feel the connection between the MC because there was so much going on.

Mountains Wanted (Mountains Series #1) by Phoebe Alexander
4 out of 5
Mountains Wanted by Phoebe Alexander is a delicious, emotional ride through finding love in the least expected places. Dr. Sarah Lynde is a professor and single mom. Sarah, through her friendship with Rachel, discovered a love of sex and isn’t afraid to go after who she wants.
Sarah meets 1st Sgt. James McAllister at a panel discussion on gays serving in the military. James is everything that Sarah could want in a partner, tall, strong, sexy, intelligent. And, a few things she doesn’t, poor at communicating, looking at redeployment. The connection Sarah and James share is unlike anything Sarah has felt before. When Sarah offers James the chance to be friends with benefits, James quickly agrees. What happens when Sarah wants more? Is James willing to change the nature of the relationship?
Sarah is a single mom of two kids who she is trying to raise with the help of her mother and her best friend. Sarah’s ex decided, Daniel, to disappear 3 years ago. Sarah helped the kids pick up the pieces and move on. Abby is now 15 going on 40. Abby faces decisions about relationships and adolescence with wisdom beyond her years. Owen is 10 and enjoys asking sex education questions to annoy his sister. Owen has a heart as big as the Rocky Mountains. Now Daniel has emerged with a new wife and son and wants back into the kids’ lives. Will Sarah be able to hold all the pieces together?
James is finding his way in Sarah’s world. James doesn’t know if Sarah’s world is where he fits. He knows he wants a wife, kids, a family some day. He thinks he is just about ready to go for it but is facing deployment, again. A decision has to be made. Is James willing to look for the family he wants with Sarah? Is there a place for Sarah in James’ life when he gets back from deployment?
Phoebe Alexander takes you and your emotions through all the peaks and valleys. It’s a wicked climb! I can’t wait for the rest of the series to find out where life takes Sarah and James.
This book includes descriptions of a polyamorous lifestyle and may not be for all readers.

What is there NOT to love about this wonderful novel? I for one was able to jump right into this story that truly captures my heart.
First off I must say i am a lover of romantic suspense and this one went above and beyond I found and I loved the suspenseful moments for sure.
From the first bit of the story I wanted more. I wanted questions answers even though I knew it would be a bit of a wait for those to come to me. But that was the joy of the book, it kept me interested and I wanted to keep reading to find out more info!
I love the characters the story surfaced around. Kayla and Jaxon. These two to me at first could NOT be more alike. But as I read on its true, they were more alike than I actually saw at first. They both came with a past. And I will say it wasn’t always pretty. But their qualities that were alike as well as their differences made them who they are. From differences being cast aside to finding the very common ground they walk on they found a shared ground and a story being written between them that they never actually thought possible. I think to both of them it was shocking and beautiful at the same time,.
To me this story really was wonderful as it wasn’t just about love, not just about second chances, and not just about allowing yourself to feel something you put up walls to make sure you don’t. It also had the pure danger or not knowing can this love be safe? Will it protect me? Will our love be the downfall of us both?
This was on the line for Kayla and Jaxon pretty much at every turn. Wondering if they were safe from the danger or was it just the beginning?
This was a wonderful fast read for me. It didn’t keep me just interested, it made me give up my sleep to see what would would happen next. I live with no regrets!
This was my first time and I know for a fact in the future I will gladly re read this novel. Its a story I wont forget and I do truly want to revisit again soon!
Do yourself a favor and read this amazing book. I assure you on my heart you will not be disappointed. Wonderful work Amy McKinley 🙂

I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this book. I truly stepped outside my comfort zone on this one, but am I glad I did.
We follow the story of Sophie, who is a great representation that we don’t see much of in reading. She’s truly a breath of fresh air and then enters in Wraith. Our biker man, the VP of the Satan’s Devils.
The story progresses truly at a wonderful speed, leaving you wanting more. Be warned there is some graphic content for some. However, if you love the motorcycle club atmosphere and all the emotions that come with it this is for you.

This is Teivel and Oren’s story. These two have it bad for each other but Oren is a demon hunter and Teivel is a demon. We all know how that goes. Teivel wants to train Oren but gets distracted by a request to locate a dragon. He closes up his apartment, lets his imp goes and pops into Delilah’s house (and forgets to tell Oren). Oren is pissed that Teivel never showed but puts it to the side because he found a bunch of his grandfather’s hunter papers and journals. These two, and their ragtag group of friends, end up helping to solve the dragon mystery, locate missing friends and help Oren learn who he is. The camaraderie is endearing because even being paranormal, its regular friendship. The surprise toward the end of the book is the best part. It will take you by the feelings. Have tissue. Love this series.

After reading this book, I am dying to return to Venice, just like Gianna. This book was a true romantic story of how past and present days collide. It made you believe, in not only true love, but second chances. As an artist myself, I truly enjoyed every aspect of this book from learning the history of the city, superstitions of the locals, and could just picture the gorgeous art that is about the city. I fell in love with these characters through Amy’s writing and felt that I was witnessing it all, like I was there. This was the first of her books that I read and cannot wait to go back and read ALL of her others!!

While, this book is the second in it’s series I have only read this book in the Jaded Vamp series by L.D. Wosar. I was at first a little lost, but it didn’t take long for me to catch on. I absolutely LOVED this book. It was full of romance and action, my two favorite things. It had a strong, bad-ass, female lead, which I love! I’m also a sucker for vampire novels. I loved the writing style of L.D. Wosar and the creativity found in this book. I give it 5 stars- I will definitely be going back to read the first one.

Miss Understanding: An Enemies-to-Lovers Office Romance is the first book in The Miss Series by Aubrey Bondurant. This is not my first book I have listened to by this author, but it is now my favorite. It was a real pleasure to listen to and had me laughing out loud throughout. The characters are well developed and the Sizzling chemistry is HOT. Kendall is just hilarious with her lists and straight shooting sarcasm. Liam is a bit uptight at the beginning, but they fit together like a puzzle. I can’t wait to listen to the next book in this series.
I’m not sure if I have listened to either of these narrators before, but I was blown away with their performance. Their voices blended well together and they really brought this story to life. I would give this book TEN STARS if I could!

Love Love Love!! So I picked up the book because of the blurb but once I started reading I could not stop reading. So much for sleep as I could not put the book down as I HAD to read just one more chapter! My heart bleed for Ellie once it clicked in my head what had happened to her. I wish we all could have a Wes in our life. So now that I know this is part of a series I will be going back and reading the first four books. Oh and picking up any new ones! Happy reading for me and you!

Secure Decision (Chase Security Series Book 5) by R.L. Dunn is another fantastic book in one of my favourite series. RL has once again pulled all the tiny threads together and woven yet another story where the tension is palpable, and your heart is pounding, and your emotions are on high alert. Her Chase Security stories are full of action and danger, secrets and lies, heartache and love, suspense, and mystery, intrigue and deceit, murder and drama, sexy alpha hot men, and strong women. They fight for what is right and put themselves on the line to make it happen. This is one series you want to start at book one and work your way through even though this is a standalone, it is that good.
As always, I look forward to the next book with bated breath.

Terrifying Love is a Halloween anthology of seven short stories and poems. Before each story is a poem by Helle Gade. The First Story is written by Serna Nova and is about Willow and her effort to save a young girl that has been abducted. The title is called Bringing Home and fits well with the plot. Story two is called HIs Dancer and is written by Isobella Dunn. This was my favorite story about a stalker and his obsession to get to BInx. The story alternates between Binx and the stalker’s point of view and is considered to be a prequel to another of Dunn’s books. Story Three is called La Siguanaba by Everly Taylor and is about a woman that wishes to have love instead of royal treatment. Her affair angers the gods and she is punished in a very unusual manner. Reflections Of The Past by Melody Calder is another story I was fond of. A mirror holds a type of portal to an evil ghost bent on exacting her revenge on the families that had killed her and her lovers. The twist at the end was a shocker for sure. Runes and Fangs by Victoria Larque is a story of a vampire and her run in with a witch. This particular vampire is actually a huntress trying to kill off other supernatural beings like witches and other vampires. She finds she needs the witch to assist her in her ultimate goal of killing the vampire that had turned her. Bloody Money by Annalie Jansssen features Anna losing out on a promotion and having to take care of a set of files that she finds are extremely odd. Rumor in the office was that the set of files previous handlers had all died. Anna reports the issues to her boss but he does nothing to rectify the situation. She then reports to the top manager what she was finding. Suddenly, she finds she is receiving death threats and even was attacked. The Final story is called The Spade and the Patio by Ada Rossi. This interesting story was perfect for the end of the book as it is regarding a woman speaking to an interviewer that will decide her fate. The woman tells the interviewer how she was unhappy in her marriage and over the years began to resent her husband. As the woman tells her story, she comes to the realization that her fate was completely in her own hands. She attempts to kill her husband with a spade but her failed attempt causes her to end up in the office with the Interviewer.
This is one of the best short story collections that I have ever read. Each story had a beginning and definite ending with well developed characters and story lines. While this is considered a Halloween Anthology, not all of the stories involve blood and gore. I am rating this collection a full 5 stars because I honestly cannot think of anything I disliked. The pace of the stories was even and every page kept my interest to the end of the book. I recommend this for adults that like reading short stories, I would caution readers as there is explicit content involved in some of the novellas which would make this inappropriate for young readers.

On the heels of a rescue and recovery mission, Navy SEAL Tyler Hale returns to Pearl Harbor only to learn that the woman he’s never been able to get out of his system is in trouble. With Malina accused of a crime and missing, he’ll do whatever it takes to clear her name and keep her by his side. But no one is innocent, and if he wants a chance at a future with the woman of his dreams, it’s time to lay everything on the table.
In a world where secrets are the currency, Ty drops a bomb from their night in Vegas, but Malina has one, too. With the truth revealed, the stakes change, and he’ll stop at nothing to save her.

Mountains Wanted (Mountains Series Book 1) by Phoebe Alexander
I knew going in that this book was a part of a series and I guess technically a cliffhanger so I can only be mad at myself for having to wait to find out what happens next, thankfully I won’t have to wait too long since the series has seven books released.
I got very frustrated with Sarah several times, some of her behaviors were those I have come to expect from younger female characters but with her history I can see where she would have some trust issues.
I love Sarah’s kids and Rachel and envy her openness and ability to be herself without fear or concerns.
I will be starting the next book as soon as I get a chance to. My lack of patience won’t allow me to wait too long. Especially since I have loved every single book I have had the pleasure of reading by Ms. Alexander

Unlike the first book this third book is really tame. I enjoyed it though. It had a different pace and it was nice getting Teviel point of view on things. He starts out as a hard person with a ton of walls up, but slowly you start seeing him open up when Oren doesn’t take his crap and call him out on his toxic crap. My heart broke for little Jeri. I wanted to take him away from the writer and just protect him! I hope we get to see more of him soon! I still have so many questions about Cas!!!! I hope he gets his own book too! I can’t wait for more!!!

The Don is the first book in Her Three Immortals series by Hazel Storm. This clever story has a little bit of everything thrown in to make it an interesting read. Greek mythology, a reverse harem, immortals, and sexy men. This paranormal romance is original and unique and is told by multiple POV’s, which I love. It is a quick read, and you will soon find yourself at the end with a cliff hanger to boot. Noooooooooooooo. I look forward to the next book.
Beware the Don of the Underworld you never know just what you are getting yourself into.

I couldnt put this down and at a certain point i was clutching my kindle and i couldnt read fast enough. These two authors know what they’re doing when writing a story! Cannot wait for more!

This is the first book I have read from this author and she now has a new fan. I love a good MC story but this author exceeded all my expectations. This is the first book of the Satan’s Devil MC and now I’m addicted. I could not put this book down until the end. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.

This journey brings about a few surprises and that is when you really find out who your true friends are.

Bound by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops Book 2) by Amy McKinley 4 Stars!!!!
I really enjoy this author’s series. I have read many of her books and each one just keeps me glued to the page. I find the characters really are written well and there is a good mix of drama and romance. I also like how the author is able to entwine the characters back stories into the book and how it adds to the drama.
I really loved the chemistry between Jaxon and Kayla. I also love how she was able to come to terms with her brothers loss and how all came together. I love how the author is able to balance the romance and not make things predictable. I definitely will read more from this author in the future. Reviewed by @caraleeloonat View all my reviews

If I could give a million stars I would, I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book!!!! It was definitely a book I could not put down. Dr. Sarah Lynde’s character is strong and bad azz in many ways. She is a provider to her two children and balances being a professor. When she meets Lt. James McAllister at her speaking engagement, I knew there would be sparks. Boy oh boy was I right. The story unfolds when they get together there is so much sizzling heat. James is torn between what he wants and what is right in front of him. There are many ups and downs between James and Sarah when it comes to matters of the heart and feelings. What does James? You will have to read and find out. The ending….AHHHH … I need book 2 ASAP :).

Red Coat Author: Isobella Dunn This was a great book! Loved the characters of Sara, Rachael and Colin. It was a super sweet story filled with suspense and some romantic moments. The characters were full-bodied and filled with real-life problems. I felt a strong connection to the main character of Sara, a foster child turned Social worker. She was dedicated and strong. Great story and I look forward to more from this great author!!!
