Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May was a really fun read. It is a contemporary romantic comedy- with a little sprinkle of drama and the unexpected to keep things engaging. I can always count on Ms. May to deliver an engrossing read, and this book certainly fits the bill. I was pulled in right from the beginning, which made it easy to invest in the story and the characters. Always a pleasure reading Ms. May’s work- looking forward to seeing what she does next.

Love Between the Lines is the first book in the Page Turners series by A.D. Brazeau. This is a sweet romantic comedy- a bit of chick-lit with plenty of humour that made for an entertaining read. This story captures what happens when the sparks ignite between an author and a cover model. But Ms. Brazeau doesn’t make it too easy for these two- adding just enough angst, drama, anxiety, and self doubt to make things interesting. This is my first read by Ms. Brazeau, and after reading this, I am happy to say that it won’t be my last. Happy reading!

Forged By Secrets is the third instalment in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series by Amy McKinley. This is another superb romantic suspense story with second chances, secrets, danger, action, adventure, violence, drama, sizzling heat, tension, mystery, surprising developments, and plenty of intrigue. What happens when a Navy SEAL and the new analyst assigned to the unit have a past history together that they never fully got over? Malina and Tyler will need to lay it all on the line, if they have any chance of getting through it all. What happens when secrets are laid bare? You really should read all the intriguing developments for yourself- Ms. McKinley doesn’t disappoint! Looking forward to more!

Sons of Sindicato is the start of an exciting new mafia series by Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus. I have loved these authors books, individually, so when they came together for a collaboration it was a given that I would be diving in asap. This is a very short, novella length taste of what’s to come. I devoured this story in my lunch break and was left wanting more- in a good way. I would have loved to read a longer, fuller version of this story so I could immerse myself in it for longer- and get more of Braelynn and Seth’s story. But the book did a great job of whetting my appetite for the rest of the series and I can’t wait to get my hands on book two. So, if you love mafia stories, romantic suspense on the darker side- with fantastic characters, and an intriguing and well-written storyline- then this is definitely a book you will want to read! Bring on Book #2!

I have really enjoyed the Billionaire Bodyguards series from Via Mari so far, so when I saw book three was available it was not questions asked I just one-clicked. These books are written in a way they could be enjoyed as standalones, but I can promise you if you love this one you will want the rest of the available series to devour as well. I really enjoyed the action and thriller parts that balance the hot and steamy parts that will have you fanning yourself as you read. Via Mari does a wonderful job of transporting you into the book and making you feel you have a front row seat to all the action going on. THe characters are relatable and complex so well that you feel as if they are real people and you can’t help but cheer them on to find love and peace together. I really look forward to seeing what kind of story we will get in the next installment!

I really enjoyed this wonderfully written historical romance by author Nauraine, set in Vienna in 1867 the story is a reimagining of the opera, Arabella by Richard Strauss. Countess Zdenka Waldner must save her family’s farm from her father’s gambling debts and find her sister, Arabella a rich husband if she is to fulfil her dream. In order for Zdenka to live out her life on the farm and be free of all the rules and expectations of the Viennese Society, especially that she should marry, she masquerades as Arabella’s younger brother. However her plan of dressing and playing the part of a man to help chaperone her sister gets even more complicated when she meets and falls in love with a Kavalier.
Lieutenant Matteo von Ritter, is a veteran of the Austro-Prussian war, who has vowed to care for his injured men but having met Arabella Waldner, Matteo recruits who he believes is her brother, Zdenko to deliver love letters to her but in fact it is really Zdenka. It is also Zdenka and not Arabella that he is trading letters with and he is in fact falling in love with the wrong sister. When the inevitable happens and Zdenka is found out she must save her dream, her sister’s engagement and Matteo’s honour but can she also save their relationship and his love for her even when her deception is unravelled.
The authors descriptive narrative really bought the era, the setting and the characters to life and made me feel fully immersed in the story. You can tell that the author has done her research for this novel and I found the ‘note on the opera’ at the beginning fascinating and I referred to the helpful glossary of terms whilst reading. The storyline captivated me as did the characters and the narrative flowed well making this an enjoyable and engaging read and one which I could not put down. I definitely recommend this heartwarming and sweet timeless romance.

Wow I really don’t know how to put into words how amazing this book is. I have never read a book that had affected me so much. My heart was racing all the way through. Its a deeply moving book that deals with sensitive issues such that could be upsetting for some people but the author writes with such care and honesty that why it’s hard to read in some places it really opens your eyes to the pain that some people have to go through. The characters of Jordan and Hunter are really well written. They are two messed up people who find containment and happiness with each other, but will the demons of their pasts destroy their happiness?
Can Dreams Come True? (The Cecily Taylor Series Book 1) by Krysten Lindsay Hager
I enjoyed this book, but feel so old right now. It got me thinking back to when I was the same age as Cecily. What girl didn’t dream of meeting her famous crush? I remember my best friend and I talking about us meeting the flavor of the month at a concert and going from there.
The difference here is Cecily actually got to meet her famous crush and it couldn’t have gone any better. Andrew seems to be a really good guy, not pushing her into more than friendship. But they are so very different even though they are just a year apart and his “friends” are so not what Cecily is used to or need.
I’m very interested to see how this plays out. I’m not convinced he is the right one but I guess we will see.

Auctioned is a dark billionaire Mafia romance and also book three in the Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. A dominant bodyguard, a submissive virgin and lots of danger and suspense? What more can you ask for? Via Mari continues to deliver a masterclass romance fraught with intense moments, blood chilling and life threatening situations and some steamy hot love scenes that will curl your toes and take your breath. Damian has a relentless need to rescue and protect Bryanna from the hideous world of human trafficking. Trust is hard to give after her ordeal, but the magnetism and sexual attraction that oozed from Damian was too hard to ignore. Their story was arousing and evoked emotions that were hard to ignore and even harder to move on from after the story was over. I was taken under their spell and it was more than magical. A thought stealing and adrenalin pumping read that was over way too soon. 5 stars.

What do you do when you’re so empty inside, you feel nothing? When all you’ve ever known was pain? You run. That’s what I did—I ran away without once looking back. People say starting over is the best way for a new beginning, but that’s far from the truth if you end up back where you began. Sometimes life likes to throw lemons at you really hard until there’s nothing left to do but make lemonade. I’ve known pain, but not the kind that messes with my heart. That is until Logan, Dalton, Trey, and Nicholas came into my life without a warning label. I’m not prepared, and I’m afraid after fighting since day one…they might just be the reason I finally break.
*A dark, why choose bully romance.
*Trigger warning, dark themes that may be sensitive for some readers. Enter with caution. *Abuse mentally and physical, rape, child abuse, drug use, sexual scenes, violence, swearing. +18.

This book contains scenes of a graphic and sexual nature, only those over 18’s only should read this.
Zachary “Ice” Wentworth is the head of the Domestic Law Enforcement Unit within Chase Security, he has worked his way there from being an ex Navy SEAL, all the way up, but he is still recovering from the loss of a female operative who was also his submissive partner. Saoirse Kennedy is an US Attorney and is extremely good at her job, she is brave, determined and beautiful, but she is also naive in matters of the heart.
Zachary is travelling back home after visiting San Diego for an operation, as he approaches the airport departures ready to check in his luggage and his firearm, he notices a woman ahead of him in the line who is also checking in a weapon, but she is having a lot more problems than he is doing it, so he steps in and then asks to speak to the supervisor about it. This leads to them introducing themselves and parting ways, that is until she ends up sitting next to him on his flight, she is easy to talk to and conversation flows easily between them, but she is guarded, but nevertheless, Zachary can’t deny his attraction to her. He offers her a ride to her destination in the city, but unbeknownst to either of them, she is attending a course in undercover work which Zachary just happens to be running. As the course proceeds, there is one person who Zaxhary realises is underqualified and although she is allowed to finish the course, his dissatisfaction is reported back to her supervisor.
Thinking no more of the situation and a few months pass until Saoirse turns up at the Unit headquarters asking for a meeting with Zachary with a conference call with Martin Bailey at the same time, but what he hears is not what he expected, it turns out that an undercover female officer has been murdered while on assignment to infiltrate a trafficking ring and the woman in question was the same one who was on the same course as Saoirse. As the conversation deepens it turns out that they want Zachary as a dominant to train Saoirse as a submissive to enable her to try and infiltrate the same ring, but he is uncomfortable and unsure as to how to proceed given his past and when it turns out that Saoirse wasn’t given the full details of what would be happening, he isn’t so sure that either of them will be able to do it.
As Zachary digs deeper into the files associated with the case, he can see that there is more than meets the eye and that the target for the investigation is a rich businessman with a lot of connections, plus that there have been ten other undercover female operatives who have died as well. As Saoirse is trying to decide whether to take this case on, Zachary throws her in at the deep end and takes her to observe exactly what being dominant and submissive entails, she is shocked and as things get more serious, she opens up to him and agrees to try. Will Zachary and Saoirse be able to get her trained up and ready in time to carry out the infiltration, or will they become too drawn into their roles to distinguish between their reality and their personas? Will their feelings come between them and the mission, or will they be able to trust each other enough to get over the barriers in their way? This is a suspenseful thriller which draws you into another world as you follow the investigation and infiltration until the end to see how the story concludes.

Anguish: The Journals Trilogy Book 1 Audiobook by D.M. Earl is a dark and twisted story that certainly leaves you wanting more. I wasn’t sure how this book would be properly portrayed as an audiobook and I was really surprised by how well it transferred. The emotion and the mystery all came through so well and I was hooked on the story almost as soon as it started. There was quite a slow and methodical tone to the way it was told which made it really easy to picture everything going on, only for all of the emotion to burst out with the dialogue. When it got to certain scenes in the book I found my heart breaking for Quinn as I imagined everything she must have gone through. My only gripe about this book is that every now and again the narration felt a little robotic however it doesn’t really detract from it being a great story. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and I can wait for the next one.

So one of my favourite tropes is when we get to see writers and authors in books and I just love seeing their process and their struggles and I love it! I really liked Alex and Penny’s relationship the story was really good it kept me hooked. What I wasn’t so keen on was the fact it was all in Alex’s POV which didn’t expect took me a second to get into it. Really enjoyed the camping and the book!

Jordan’s Shadow by T.R. Cupak. I LOVED this book. Its a very dark, moving read. Its the story of Jordan who is working for a coffee shop and has no friends. When she is offered a job as an escort she decides she doesn’t have anything to lose and everything to gain. She begins to use drugs and alcohol to dull the pain that subsides inside her. One night she meets someone named the Shadow and she feels like she may have something to look forward to with him. The Shadow becomes her lifeline and unbeknownst to her, he is trying to save her. Once a month her life seems brighter when he calls and if she can hold on maybe she can have a real life. This book deals with some very dark topics so be prepared. It deals with assault, drug/alcohol addiction, and depression. Its an amazing story of two people who cling to one another and have hope for their future regardless of their past!
Forged by Secrets is the third book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series. It can be read as a standalone. The first few chapters of the book were a little repetitive regarding Malina’s past and her back and forth with feelings about Ty. Overall, I found the story held my attention once it really got going. It was interesting to see how the situation with the mole played out. Good suspense, elements of danger, and several secrets that create some fascinating twists.

Love between the lines by A.D. Brazeau a fun and fabulous five-star read. This was my first read by this author, but I hope it won’t be the last, as I so enjoyed the interactions between Marlowe, Lucy and Iris, they made this so much more of a story that the plot between Marlowe and Heath, although that was a great plot and not what you would imagine, there really was something there. I read this in one sitting and will certainly be adding it to my re-read pile as this jut gave me the warm fuzzies. Review by @saraoxo

The Executive’s Decision is the first book in the Keller Family Series. The Keller Family is a delightful family. This book is a great intro of them, and I can’t wait to read more about them. I started this book iffy on if it would be one I would like. Let me tell you – I loved it! The book starts with Regan’s really bad day. It was a funny and quirky beginning that just endeared me to Regan. She begins a new job working for the handsome Zachary Benson. She’s been hurt before. Will Zach be the same and turn on her? She is cool, organized, and professional on the outside, but on the inside, she is a mess. She is guarded and afraid, and we get to watch her grow. Will she be able to leave the past behind? Will she be able to trust Zach and the love she has for him? Find out in The Executive’s Decision!

Forged by Secrets is the latest and third book in the series Deadly Isles Special Ops. I have read all three books in this series and have enjoyed them immensely. This book would work well as a stand alone, but in the series, it answered a lot of the lingering questions and wrapped up the series well. It is the story of the third Hale brother, Tyler. The mole that has plagued the brothers is still following them. Will Tyler find out who the mole is before it is too late? Will he be able to save his love interest, Malina, before her past catches her? Find all the answers in Forged by Secrets!

I’m not even sure how to process this. Heavy. Raw. Emotional. Real. This book rightly gives a disclaimer at the start. Heed it. If you are looking for rainbows and unicorns and warm fuzzies and HEA, this isn’t it. If you are looking for unadulterated emotion and life, this is it. Wow.
5 Stars Can Dreams Come True? (The Cecily Taylor Series Book 1) by Krysten Lindsay Hager Can Dreams Come True? Is the first book in The Cecily Taylor Series by Krysten Lindsay Hager is a fast paced YA that once you start you won’t want to put it down till you finish. This is a sweet romance and the authors style of writing and attention to detail along with great characters I felt were relatable and fully developed. Cecily dreams of being an actress someday. She also has a crush on Andrew who is a singer and he’s shooting a video for his next video. Cecily gets an opportunity to be apart of that and finds herself working with Andrew. Her boyfriend becomes quite jealous and things for her start to fall apart. I highly recommend reading this and find out what happens next. This is my first book by this author but definitely not my last.

Two Hearts, One Stone (Boots and Babies) by Leslie Scott is a sweet and sexy western romance that has all the ingredients to make it an engrossing read. What happens when a hunky cowboy with a playboy reputation gets his baby niece dropped off on his front doorstep. All of a sudden responsibility is thrust on his shoulders and his life is upended by the unexpected little bundle of joy. Add to the mix the sexy doctor who also happens to be the beloved granddaughter of his boss. You guessed it- things are about to get interesting. I really enjoyed this easy read. It was fun and sexy, with just enough drama to keep things interesting. Looking forward to more from Ms. Scott.

Two Hearts, One Stone (Boots and Babies) by Leslie Scott is a contemporary cowboy romance. Leslie’s writing style is easy and enjoyable and entertaining. Her narrative gave us a story that is fun and witty, romantic, and heart-warming, amusing and yet at times saddening. This is a very quick read. It is written in dual POV which I love because you get a well-rounded picture of what is going on.
Sexy cowboy Stone Dempsey is a manwhore and completely shameless. He is about to have his life turned upside down. One thing he knows and knows well is women and horses but definitely not the one thing that will bring him to his knees.
Emmersyn doesn’t want a relationship and especially not one with the manhoe in front of her.

This is the fourth book I’ve read by Dunn. Another amazing read by this wonderful author. This is the fourth book in the Chase Security Series, but can be read as a standalone.
Saoirse is in town for help. Little does she know she’d already met one of the members of the people she is going to. Chase Security does all kinds of things and she needs their help. The quote I chose for Saoirse is: “Shove me if I snore. I’ve been awake for the last two days packing up my office. And yesterday, I missed my planned flight because the people subletting my place in San Diego were delayed. I’m starting a new position in New York. This was the last possible flight to be on time for work at 0800. God. I’m babbling.”
Zach met this lovely lady on his way home. He’s also known as Ice to the members of Chase Security. When he realizes that the lovely lady that he met needs their help it changes everything for him. Will he get his second chance? The quote I chose for Zach is: “Ah, if you weren’t in the same predicament—you know, if I tell you, I’ll have to kill you—but since you’re on one of the boat’s decks… I carry for Homeland.”

Once I started I got pulled right in and didn’t want to stop reading. Zach is reeling from losing one if his own, she was important to him in many ways. And when he gets put into a new mission he meets a woman that makes him crave a sub, especially when he has to train her. Saoirse is starting a new case and when she meets Zach she is pulled right in. The more that he teaches her about submission the bigger the attraction grows. Will Zach risk his heart again or will he lock it up? Will they be able to solve the case?
Overall I really enjoyed this read. We get several twists and turns along with the POV of the victim as well, which added a great element to the story. All of the characters were great. The author does a great job with her writing and you feel like you’re right there in the story. This is my favorite in the series so far. I will warn you that this is a book for 18+. Dunn – Review by Michelle Austin
10 days was a super cute, fun read! I blew through this book in two days flat.
An author, Alex, decides he needs a camping trip so he can experience first hand what it’s like to live off the land in a survival situation for a book he is writing. Who best to accompany him but his two best friends who just happen to be experts on the subject. It was fun, sweet, sarcastic, fast paced, and even had me laughing out loud in a few places. I really enjoyed the relationship the characters had with each other. 10 days would appeal most to people who enjoy contemporary romances but I think this is a fun read for anyone.

Alex is an author with a case of writer’s block. His friends Luke and Penny agree to take him on a 10 day camping trip to help him. There he falls in love with Penny. But will she return his feelings and what will Luke think?
Alex was not my favorite character. He felt super inconsistent, I’m not sure why he would choose to write a book about a marine lost in the woods, when he had never been in the service and hated the outdoors. It didn’t make sense to me. His background was also confusing.
I did like both the characters of Penny and Luke. There are themes of self harm, so trigger warning for anyone who needs it. It was definitely fun to read the steamy bits, but I found myself skipping over parts to get to those because I wasn’t enjoying Alex’s inner monologue and the rest of the story.

Can Dreams Come True? (The Cecily Taylor Series #1) by Krysten Lindsay Hager
This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Hager makes me want to come back and read more. The Cecily Taylor Series is an amazing way to start a series.
Cecily is the shy girl next door type. She wants to be an actress, but isn’t trained. Getting the chance to star in a music video with her popstar crush is amazing. The quote I chose for Cecily is: “Musicians have a way of doing that. I’d probably forget my own name if I met Andrew Holiday. I just hope she stops making passive aggressive comments.”
Andrew is a famous musician. When he auditions in a small town he gets something he’s been looking for. Enter Cecily and he finds what he’s looking for in a girl. The quote I chose for Andrew is: “Maybe that’s why it worked so well. You weren’t trying too hard. I dunno. It just worked for some reason, you know? Like you were meant to be in it.”
Highly recommended for YA Contemporary Romance lovers.

Can Dreams Come True? (The Cecily Taylor Series Book 1) by Krysten Lindsay Hager – Review by Krista Vaughan
Cecily has loved musician Andrew Holiday FOREVER. Have you ever had a song speak to you? The artist just seemed to understand how you felt? Andrew just seems to “get” her. Cecily auditions to be in his next music video and she catches Andrew’s eye. Her current boyfriend certainly thinks something is up. Is there a chance her dreams of Andrew could become reality? A beautiful story of what could happen if you just believe.
