My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire is the fourth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. This was yet another great novel by the author. I loved the comedic tone of the book, with Jane Devereux’s numerous problems and how she handles them. How the author was able to combine Christmas and vampires was quite amusing as well. Who would have thought, Santa as a vampire, but it worked. If you are looking for a quick, humorous, holiday read, I would highly recommend this book as well as others in the series.

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire by Carrie Pulkinen is the fourth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series. These can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading at least book 1 before delving into this book. This is a delightfully fun quick read. This entire series is light, paranormal reading set in the perfect setting of New Orleans. I really have enjoyed Jane in the past but this gave a new insight into her and her marriage to Ethan. Also, one would ask how Santa Claus could fit into the story, but seriously you need to read this to find out. This is full of laughs and great characters. A definite getaway from this cruddy year. I look forward to more in this series and from this author in the future.

Holiday TerminalHoliday Terminal by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holiday Terminal was such a great 5 star read. Just what I needed in my life right now. This second chance romance had everything I always want to see in a book. Artemis Warren and Penelope Barnes met one summer on the beach in Cape Harmony. Artemis was vacationing with his rich high profile family and of course they didn’t want their oldest son involved with a local girl. Artie and Penelope fell in love that summer.
Unfortunately Artie left at the end of the summer and him and Penelope never spoke after that. Now 6 years later they are both flying to their respective homes but both planes need to make an emergency landing because of a really bad snow storm with whiteout conditions.
What are the odds that these two long lost lovers have to land at the same airport, on the same day, at the same time ? It must’ve been fate.
What will happen when these two come face to face? Penelope has feared this moment and now she has no choice but to face it head on and tell him the truth. She really doesn’t have to tell him because he can see it with his own eyes. I absolutely loved this book and wish there were more just like this one.

This was a lovely second chance at love Christmas romance which left me with a feel good factor and put me in the festive spirit. When Penelope Barnes and son Max get stranded at a tiny airport in the middle of nowhere on Christmas Eve she thinks things can not get any worse but then Artemis Warren, her first love and the man who broke her heart walks into the terminal. Whilst Penelope has been transported back to being a teenager left on the beach wishing the boy would choose her, Artemis is happy to be reunited with the only woman he’s ever loved. Due to an emergency landing he’s been stranded as well and just wanted to go back to civilisation until he spots Penelope and hopes to turn the bad situation into the opportunity of a lifetime. However, old wounds can be hard to heal and both of them have created new lives and then there’s the secret that Penelope is hiding that will have consequences for both their lives. I loved Penelope and Artemis who were both likeable and relatable and I was cheering them on hoping they would both get their happy ever after, especially as it’s Christmas and a little Christmas magic was just what the couple needed. Max was also a lovely character. The storyline flowed well and the descriptive narrative made the characters and the setting come alive. I found the cold, snowy Christmas Eve to be a really Christmasy backdrop to the story. It was an enjoyable and engaging read which had me hooked from the start and I felt immersed in the story, making this a perfect book for the festive period.

Santa Got Run Over By A Vampire by Carrie Pulkinen is the fourth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series. This is yet another fantastic addition to a brilliant series and is easily my favourite one so far. The whole book is highly entertaining and more then once I found myself smiling at what was going on.
This also has to be one of the best holiday stories that I have read. It has the right amount of holiday cheer and story depth to make it more than just a Christmas story. This author has such a great way of creating a gripping book with such strong characters. I have yet to read one of her stories that I didn’t enjoy. This is an entertaining and well written book and a series that I would highly recommend.

Second Chance eX-masSecond Chance eX-mas by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Second Chance eX-mas is a great contemporary romance by N.D. Jackson. At 123 pages it is a quick, but very enjoyable read. I devoured it in a few hours. It’s always a worry when you try out a new author but this was a very pleasant surprise as I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Ally and Archer had been the perfect couple until he broke it off and went away to join the military. Years later he is back home and he wants Ally back but Ally has a huge surprise for him. A gorgeous little girl called Glory. For me Glory was totally the star of this book. She’s absolutely adorable and very quickly has Archer totally twisted around her perfect little finger.
I really loved reading Ally and Archer’s story. Both are amazing characters that I fell in love with. Ally’s been hurt badly by Archer and is vert sceptical about letting him back into her life although she won’t stop him seeing Glory. Archer is determined to win Ally back and for the three of them to be a family.
Although this is a short read, there is so much packed into this story. It’s angsty, romantic and had me hooked from the very beginning and I didn’t put it down until I finished it. A great read!

Are you ready for a laugh riot? Looking for something to tickle your funny bone? Want to escape into a world filled with fun characters and humor galore? Then you need to pick up this fantastic book by Carrie Pulkinen! Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire is the 4th installment in the New Orleans Nocturne book series and Ms. Pulkinen keeps the fabulousness going with this latest read. Now, mind you, this is a stand-alone book. But I’ve said it before, do yourself a HUGE favor and pick up this series. You’ll want to get to know all of these wonderful characters and their stories.

Now, this latest book is about Jane Devereux (from License to Bite) and her antics adjusting to her new life. Jane is adjusting to her life fabulously until a small encounter with Father Christmas. Now with only 3 days to teach Santa the ways of the Vampire and get him back to the North Pole in time, things are a bit tense. Oh! And did I forget to mention Jane’s dad, the governor of Texas is coming for a visit to see her? Talk about a stressful Christmas! Follow Jane, her hubs-hottie Ethan, and their nocturnal friend Gaston as they try to get through this holiday!

With witty banter, great chemistry between the main characters, and a fun-loving story, Ms. Pulkinen hits a trifecta with her latest book. I loved being able to see each of the characters again and learning what they’ve been up to in their lives. Add in the fun town of New Orleans and great sub-characters, you can’t help but fall in love with this book. If you’re looking for a feel-good holiday read (you know, like a Hallmark Christmas movie type story with tons of laughs), then pick this beauty up.

This book is so cute! I love the recipes! I have written them down to try them! Cat Anderson’s mom doesn’t bake, nor does she cook. So when Cat is put into the culinary class, things start to get interesting. Cat is like my pre-teen sister. The way she talks and the way she acts, Cori did an amazing job making Cat into the perfect pre-teen. This story is not only funny, but it captures the essence of being a young girl.

5 stars!
I LOVE a holiday romance. This book delivered in putting me in the Christmas spirit and giving me all sorts of feelings. I really love when the characters miscommunicate with each other, that may sound weird, but when I see the hurt caused by miscommunication my heart jumps a little because I know that everything will be okay in the end. Penelope and Artemis are beautiful together, I love them as a couple. Penelope did annoy me at times but overall, I understand why they were in the situation they were in. If they would have just talked everything out, things may have been different by now, but, being young and immature the first thing in your mind is to run, so that is what Penelope did. I was nervous for a minute when Artemis finds out about Max but knew deep down that everything would work out, it’s a holiday romance after all. I really enjoyed meeting all these characters, and quickly got lost in the story, I can’t wait to see what is next and would highly recommend this read.

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire is the 4th book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. I have read them all and love them. They are quick reads that are hilarious. I don’t normally read supernatural books, but these are great. They are not dark, but instead light humored, about a group of friends, which include vampires, werewolves, witches and more. This book centers around Jane Devereux, so I recommend at least reading her book- License to Bite- to get the full background. This book is a short story, that you wont want to put down. It is fast paced and funny. Telling the story of how Jane runs over Santa, and in order to save his life, and Christmas, she must turn him into a vampire. Not your average Christmas story, but worth reading.

Be Brave With Me is the first book in the Finding Love in Green Springs series by J.B. Havens and CA Miconi. This series is going to be both heartbreaking and heartwarming if this first installment is any inclination. This book had me on an emotional roller coaster. I have to say this is the first book of the year that left me with a book hangover. I had to have a box of tissues on hand. The main characters, Meg and Drew, are both broken and dealing with loss. I would highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Tyler Darby and Tara Langella narrated this book with such feeling and emotion. They really brought the characters to life. Their voices blended well together and the southern accents were wonderful. I look forward to listening to more books narrated by these two!

I enjoyed reading this holiday romance. This book is full of romance, forgiveness, passion, great characters, and some heated moments. There was a lot of pent up emotion between Art and Pen, and seeing each other again while stranded at the airport brought all those feelings to forefront. Even though this was a quick read for me there was still plenty of emotion and dialog between the characters. This is a good mature holiday read and I recommend this book. Penelope is flying home for Christmas with her son, Max, and her mother. However, a snow storm forces them to land at a small-town airport until the storm passes. Hoping it will only be a couple of hours, the three of them hunker down in the terminal to wait out the storm…hoping to be home in time to open presents in the morning.
Artemis is on his way to New York where he plans to make a big announcement to his family. Due to the weather, he must land at an airport in the middle of nowhere and wait for the storm to pass. Imagine his surprise when he sees the girl from his past, who has grown into a beautiful woman, as another stranded passenger.
The past between Penelope and Artemis is a mix of young love and heartbreak. Both of them have their own ideas about what happened on the beach years ago…but it seems as though both of them have it wrong. Years of not talking has led to a mix of longing, anger, and distrust. Can they reignite the flame they once had? Or are secrets from the past (and Artemis’ last name) going to keep them apart once again?
I enjoyed this book and read it all in one sitting. It was an easy read and a really good story. Penelope and Artemis are both great characters who just need a little slap upside their heads to knock some sense into them…but, then again, most adults do! I enjoyed the story and will be checking out Archie’s book when it is released.

I thoroughly enjoyed this fun, lighthearted paranormal romance with a festive twist, which put me in the Christmas spirit. As I have read the previous books in the ‘New Orleans Nocturnes’ series, I was already familiar with the main characters, Jane and Ethan from book one ‘License to Bite’. However, each book in the series is a standalone story although the characters do crossover. In this quick holiday story, Jane Devereux is adjusting well to her new life as a nocturne. She is married to the hottest vampire in New Orleans, Ethan, and is running a popular nightclub in the French Quarter. When she accidentally runs Santa Claus over the only way to save him is to turn him into a vampire. Jane then has three days to teach Santa how to be a vampire and then get him back to the North Pole for Christmas Eve. To complicate her life further, Jane’s father is visiting her for Christmas and she has not told him that she’s married or that she’s a vampire. It was fun being back with the “vamps of New Orleans Nocturnes” and I enjoyed catching up with Jane and Ethan as they are great characters. The storyline flows well, making this an enjoyable and easy read whilst the narrative brings the characters to life. The story has some laugh out loud moments and it’s a real page turner of a novel. I found this romantic comedy with a paranormal twist an exciting and engaging read. I look forward to future books in the series.

Emeline and Cappy’s story in the author’s own voice..OH MY!

It’s been well over a year since I read the ebook version of this story and when I saw that it was released on audio I was thrilled, but then I saw that the author was reading this book herself, I was totally over the moon. Who better to put the feelings into the words then the author herself! I’m glad it has been awhile since I read it because it’s been long enough to where it still felt fresh and I fell in love all over again!

I loved these people and the story about their bond as teens and how they came back together as friends dealing with the loss of a character who quickly became one of my favorites in this book. The scene with the box and the missing ring literally took my breath away and that’s when Pop completely won my heart.

I love how she transported me right into the story, I could see everything clearly and feel like I was right there in the same room with these people. I’m so excited that she has also done the reading and has released Stars Fall From The Sky on Audio as well as that book stands up in some of my all time favorites, I loved Ginger in this story and can’t wait to add this to my audible library.

Grab this book or grab this audible, it is amazing and I’m sure you will love following Emeline and Cappy’s story as much as I did. This author did an amazing job narrating and my only fear now is that I’ll never want to read another of her books because I will want her to read them to me!  LOL and of course I’m kidding because I’ll read anything this author writes!!

I sincerely enjoyed this story. This is my third book by this author and I’m loving each of the books I’ve read more and more and she has become an automatic one click for me.

This was a second chance romance that takes place during the holidays and gave me everything I wanted in a Christmas story. I must say I loved all the characters in this book but my two favorites were Cindy and of course Glory. I loved Ally and Archer and loved their story but it’s the first time I think I’ve ever read a book where the secondary characters really made the book for me.

I read this book in less than an hour and a half and really was sad when it was over, I had fallen into total “bliss” while reading and really felt like I was right there watching it all play out.

I highly recommend picking this one up if you’re looking for a feel good Christmas story. This one has it all.

Can’t wait for more from this author.

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it! I love a book that has romance, mystery, and action, especially if the main catalyst isn’t sex. I thought the author did a great job of introducing us to these characters and gave us just enough to be intrigued to hope to see them in more books. I feel like we got to see just the tip of the iceberg with them as I would expect in a short read. I can tell that this author has a way with words, and can weave a story. I can’t wait to read some of her full novels to really get a sense of her writing and the characters she creates. She left me wanting more. If you like a very quick read that is romantic suspense then you will enjoy this one very much.

I absolutely loved listening to The Rest of Forever. This was my first time experiencing an audio book by her and I loved every moment of it. I really enjoyed the premise of the book and how I was listening around Christmastime and felt like it was kismet. I had to be there and hear it. I am so excited that there will be more to come in the series and will definitely be checking them all out.

Guardian Angels are amazing and I am a huge believer in them so this book was less paranormal for me and I found it believable. I loved the banter between April and Damian, her angel. This book could make the perfect sitcom I swear. I look forward to seeing what else we will get in this series of books.

Be Brave With Me (Finding Love In Green Springs Book 1)Be Brave With Me by J.B. Havens
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I am so lucky to have found this novel by CA Miconi and JB Havens, both new to me authors that I have got to do some more reading/listening of in the very near future! I loved this novel and how well it flowed and created this little town and characters that I found it very hard to deny myself the love for. I was only going to listen to a few chapters in the morning before some errands and ended up not. I had to listen to this novel in one go because I just couldn’t pull myself away. The hardest part of the book was the ending because I just could never get enough of this. I found solace in the fact this is book one of a series and I am so excited to see what other love stories we get from Green Springs.

Meg has been running hard, long, and fast from the past demons of her life when she stumbles into the town of Green Springs and smack dab into the life of Drew. Both of these people have a delicate and sad past that has made them the people they are today. Drew sees the pain in Meg’s eyes the moment he meets her and he wants so badly to help heal the brokenness she feels. He will need her to ‘be brave’ with him and trust him enough to stay and try. But Meg has a deep and long past and trust and bravery are not her strong suit because of it. Will she be able to be brave and stay? Can these two be the pieces they need to put themselves back together? For that and the beautiful story these two have you will have to trust me and one click this novel today! You won’t be sad you took a trip to Green Springs. I can’t wait to go back!
