India Kells has written this heart stopping roller coaster. At which she did a great job keeping me on the edge of my seat. She will clean you of all the feels and some you had no idea you had. The events in this story will make you wonder if this was real or just make believe. I love the 2 Main characters in this story. You can’t help falling in love with Sloane and Luke. I was quickly drawn into Gianluca by Isabella Cassazza. At first I thought I expected to have difficulty with Italian words but then my worries were alleviated by how the point of view was told in first person by Callie in a simultaneous way that recounted the events that Gianluca Mirani described. There was only one part I didn’t understand that was about the symbols by Signore Ravelli.
Gianluca Mirani was a ruthless manager at an Italian fashion company. His high standards made people avoid his disapproval as he was quick to fire anyone that questioned him. He was in a bind due to his assistant going on her honeymoon. An intern was being brought in for 6 weeks to fill in.When he realizes Calliope James is an American and has no previous experience, he automatically believes she will be a major hindrance to an upcoming advertisement photo shoot.
Callie arrives in Italy only to face one issue after another. The apartment she has leased seems to lack air conditioning. All of her clothes are wet from her suitcase being in the rain, and she has no phone service. Thankfully, Gianluca’s sister Fracesca befriends Callie and helps her with clothing and other tasks when Gianluca’s assistant leaves work.
Immediately, Callie has a crush on Gianluca. As they spend more time together, both begin to notice a magnetic attraction to the other. Do they end up acting on their inner desires? Eye of Death is the third instalment in the Vampire State seriesby Alexander Charalambides. As I have mentioned before, this series really does take vampire lore and shake it up- providing a very original and intriguing vampire story. There is so much going on, and this is so much more than I had expected- but I don’t want to give away too much and spoil it for you. I was engrossed right from the beginning- with vampires, discord, crisis, action, adventure, danger, drama, surprising developments, politics, war, a bit of a social commentary, the paranormal, and romance. There is definitely a bit of a dark dystopian feel to the story/series, which I love- and it definitely elevated my whole reading experience. I am eagerly awaiting the next book to see where we go from here.

This is a romantic suspense series- that will keep you glued to the pages as you get swept up in the stories. Each book in the series could be read as a standalone- as each book focuses on one of the Chase Security team members. These stories are full of action, adventure, alpha males, and strong women.

Secure Desireis the first book in the Chase Security seriesby R.L Dunn, and is a really great action-packed romantic suspense- with mystery, murder, intrigue, violence, brutality, spills and thrills, hidden agendas, sinister plots, clandestine ops, covert organizations, private security, family, friendship, Politics, loss, betrayal, chemistry….. and soooo much more. Ian Chase is an ex-Navy SEAL turned successful business man, now heading up the Chase Group, a billion dollar global empire in the venture capital and private security sector. He has never forgotten a brief encounter with a beautiful, but engaged, art historian he met six years earlier. So, imagine his surprise when he unexpectedly encounters her again- only now she’s no longer engaged or married, and works for the FBI. He knows there is more to the story, and to her, than she’s letting on. Secrets surround her. And he’s determined to get to the bottom of it all. Cassiopeia Ellis remembers meeting Ian, and he’d made quite the impression on her. But she remembers very little else from that night. She suffers from amnesia and is haunted by nightmares from a very traumatic experience. Running into Ian again after all these years, both thrills and terrifies her. I was intrigued right from the beginning, totally engrossed the whole way through. There were some shocking, emotional, and violent moments that had me anxiously reading, on the edge of my seat to discover if things would turn out ok. There was a lot going on, and so much to keep track of, too. R.L Dunn has written a complex, multi-layered story full of clever interconnected details which gives it a real unpredictability- she kept me guessing the whole way through. I had so many scenarios running through my head, trying to piece everything together and work out what was going on. I though that aspect of the writing, and story, was really well done. I loved Ian and Cassie, they were so easy to like and invest in. I really felt for Cassie and what she’d been through, and what she was going through!!! OMG- R.L Dunn really put her through the wringer. And then there’s Ian- his protective Alpha hotness was swoon-worthy. I also love Kieran, and Monique, Lil and Declan, Luke and Rachel…. And Hunter, such a sexy man- I’d sure like to know more about him! The story was meticulously researched, or the author has experience in the field- with all the medical terminology, equipment, and medications that were used in the story, as well as the security lingo and weaponry etc. The story was detailed and vividly descriptive. The only issue I had, was that there are a LOT of characters in the story- I counted over 130 NAMED characters- which was a lot to keep track of! I didn’t think they all required naming, especially passers-by on the street/hallway, or the nurse at her station etc- especially since many don’t any play a further part in the story. It just was a lot to take in- I like to remember names and places during a story, especially when I’m trying to piece everything together, like in this book- so I found the ‘extra names’ a little ‘messy’ to the overall tight plot-lines. This didn’t detract too much from the storyline, but it was a little distracting, and at times, confusing.

Secure Again is the second book in the Chase Security seriesby R.L Dunn. It is a second chance romance- with suspense, intrigue, mystery, danger, hidden agendas, chemistry, and high stakes. Dr. Elizabeth Reed is a surgeon who has noticed a number of disturbing injuries stemming from the local prison. She is determined to find out what is going on. Martin Bailey is the CEO of Chase Security International- is drawn into the mystery through his brother (a police officer) and the investigation he was conducting. But Martin and Elizabeth also have a past relationship- and soon old feelings are bubble to the surface, adding to the already charged situation. With a complicated web to untangle, there is no time to spare if they are to figure it all out before anyone else dies. There was a lot going on and a lot of characters to keep track of, too. Making for an intense read. Bring on Book #3!
Secure Her (Book #3)

Secure Heart is the third book in the Chase Security seriesby R.L Dunn. It is a bit of a romantic suspense, with second chances, danger, stalking, drama, emotion, chemistry, spice, and plenty of character growth. I am really having trouble picking my favourite from out of this series (so far)- as each book is quite riveting. Again, as with the previous books, there is a lot going on in the book- and I liked the fresh feel to the storyline- as well as having a lot of characters to keep track of- which all the series books seem to have, and is a characteristic I now associate with R.L Dunn’s work. It definitely adds extra interest to the story. I loved Holly, and Sadie. They’re such great characters- and I loved the extra emotive quality that Sadie brought to the overall storyline. Julian is just as smooth as I would have expected, being a Chase Security team member, not to mention former Navy SEAL- and it was great to tag along for the ride, and really ‘get to know him’. The story is really well developed, with palpable tension and suspense woven throughout the storyline. The emotional component was both heartaching, and at times very touching. This was a really engaging and enjoyable read!
Looking forward to the next book and continuing this fantastic series!

Santa Got Run Over By a Vampireis Book #3.5 in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. As with the other books in the series, it is a superb and highly original Paranormal Romantic Comedy. It’s a such a fun addition to the series. I have read all Ms. Pulkinen’s books now and have loved them all. The series, and this book are a little less spicy and intense than some of her other work/s- having a definitely cuter, sweeter, fun, and more humorous perspective of the New Orleans paranormal world. As I said, this is a paranormal romantic comedy- with vampires, Santa, reindeer, Mrs. Claus, magic, politics, supernatural elements, and drama- with an enchanting and humorous storyline and all set in mystical and magical New Orleans. We met Jane back in Book #1 when she was involved in a daring selfie moment that went wrong- that then resulted in her being ‘turned’ by Ethan (her now husband) to save her ‘life’. Ten months have passed since then and Jane is thriving in her undead life. Finding love and getting married, and taking on a job she loves running the hottest Vampire club in New Orleans. So, things look pretty bright. But then her father announces he will be arriving for Christmas- and he has no idea that she’s married, let alone a Vampire. Fate intervenes and her perfect life becomes even more complicated when Jane accidently runs Santa over- and the only way to save him, and Christmas, is to make him a vampire. But things won’t be quite that simple- with only three days to ‘train’ Santa on vampire life and laws brings a few hiccups’ with it that threaten her immortality- a bit of chaos ensues with funny banter, antics, and quips- making for some hilarious moments that made me laugh out loud. Can’t wait to see what Ms. Pulkinen has in store for us next!

This author created a fun book that i enjoyed from beginning to end. The banter between the characters is probably my favorite part of this book because it made me like the characters even more. This series just keeps getting better and better. The story of Rowena and Vincenzo took a bit of a turn but I really was glad to see them come together again. I found the world created by Alexander Charalambides is vibrant and full of very interesting characters. I look forward to learning more about all of them. There is some mystery involved and it will be exciting to discover the answers to the mystery. Alexander Charalambides is a great author and I highly recommend him if you are looking for something new to read.

I loved the wittiness of PJ Santini. Another great aspect of this book was PJ’s interaction with her family. I wanted to be a part of this family and all of their craziness. The murder mystery kept me on my toes the whole time. This was my first time reading a book in this series or by this author, but I look forward to reading more.

Love Heels!: The TV news business can be murder by Lynne Russell is the third book in the PJ Santini Series. So glad to get another PJ Santini book. This series is full of laughs, groans, and twists and turns. PJ is a sassy and smart woman with a great cast of supporting characters. This series is always a quick read for me because I am caught up in the story and this was no exception. PJ is one the case again and always gives it her all, but sometimes and often things do not go as planned. I love how she means well and enjoy where her mind wanders as she thinks through everything going on. This is a fun getaway to what has been 2020 and I’m glad this is one of the books I’m finishing the year out with. If you are looking for fun, read with great characters you have to pick up this book and series. I look forward to reading more from Lynne Russell in the future and hopefully reading more PJ Santini books.

I have read a few books from this author and she always exceeds my expectations. This is the second book for the addictive series The Chicago Vigilantes. You can read this story as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I was hooked on the first page. It only took me a few hours to devour this incredible book.
Sloane Friday is one of the selected few to be part of this vigilante group. She was a cop before this so she knows danger. Sloane is told to go undercover to get a professor’s help. He is the key to stopping this dangerous drug that is killing a lot of people in her city. Sloane was thinking that this professor was going to be old but he is drop dead gorgeous. She can’t get him out of her mind for some reason. When they are joined together sparks start to fly but they have a job to do first. Will Sloane find love that she has been waiting for or will the darkness take that away from her as well?

When you are fighting a invisible force, then you find yourself attracted to someone but has Sloane time to find out if it could be more.
Sloane has put her career behind her and she is now a part of the Guardians Angels as the vigilante, can she carry on and try and stop the evil force which is still in the city.
Luke has had his fair share of violence being within the military but when he sees Sloane and feels the attraction can he be drawn back into the world and still be able to open up to Sloane and with the chemistry sparking can they start a relationship in the middle of chaos.
I love this story, as the second installment it is full of action like the first story and with Sloane’s character it drives through the chapters and has you drawn in from the beginning. As the book goes through you wonder if they can ever be together with Sloane’s secret will she let Luke into her world. The chemistry between the two characters jump off the page and I love the way the story weaves in and out of the city which builds the suspense of the story. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

This is a fun and lighthearted romantic comedy novel with an added crime mystery element which had me hooked from start to finish. It is book three in a series and personally I would recommend reading the previous books first, to be introduced to PJ and find out her backstory. I love the main character, private investigator and television news reporter, PJ Santini who the author really makes come alive and who brings the story together. When a divorce case turns into a homicide investigation it puts PJ at risk but it doesn’t stop her from investigating. Louboutin wearing PJ is a brilliant lead character as she is independent, feisty, sassy and not afraid to speak her mind and I fell in love with her whilst reading this novel. PJ’s crazy family all bring a different element to the story and the witty banter between the family members had me laughing out loud at times. The crime mystery element had me gripped and kept me guessing. The narrative flows well making this an easy read and the plot is action packed and kept me happily turning the pages. I found ‘Love Heels’ to be an engaging and enjoyable read and you can tell that the author really knows about the world in which she writes about as the, “first woman to anchor a regular network nightly newscast”. I look forward to reading future books in this series.

Urban Justice is the fantastic 2nd book in the Chicago Vigilantes series by India Kells. I have been a fan of India Kells writing for a couple of years now and was looking forward to the 2nd instalment in this series as I had thoroughly enjoyed the first book. It was no surprise that I adored this book too as I’ve never read anything by India Kells that I did not absolutely love. India Kells has an amazing knack for writing characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. This was also the case for Sloane and Luke. Sloane is a totally badass ex cop, now vigilante and Luke is the ex marine, professor who just exudes sex appeal. A match made in heaven or hell? Let’s just say that their road to romance is far from a straight, smooth path. As with other India Kells’ books this had a storyline that grabbed me immediately and had me hooked throughout. It was full of emotion, danger, violence and suspense. I love India Kells’ style of writing and the way that the stories flow so well, taking you on an amazing journey, that as much as you want to know what happens, you just don’t want to get off and Urban Justice is a prime example of that. It really is a great story with amazing characters and I can’t wait to read more of this series to see which vigilante we get to learn more about next.

This is a great enemy to lovers romance. The characters were really well written that you can’t help but love them.

Secure Desire – Book 1 All I can say is wow, I was pulled in right from the beginning.
Cassie is an FBI agent who has had a couple of huge tragedies in her life. She has closed herself off from any type of relationship, she’s damaged. Ian Chase met Cassie six years prior and was smitten with her, seeing her again now has brought the feelings back and he starts to pursue her. Ian is an ex-Navy Seal who owns his own successful private security team and I might add is extremely hot.
Cassie remembers meeting Ian but had suffered a traumatic event that has caused her to shut down and have panic attacks. She’s afraid to get close to anyone for fear of rejection.
You won’t like me once you know what I am – Cassie
There is a huge twist at a charity event that had my emotions all over the place. I will warn it does get graphic and had me cringing at times. My heart went out to Cassie and everything that she went through. I was on the edge of my seat pretty much the whole time waiting to see what was coming next. Can Ian and his team keep Cassie safe? Will Cassie finally let Ian into her heart?
There is so much more to this read. I loved all of the characters, they all added great elements to the story. Some I didn’t care for, some I loved. I can’t wait to see more from several of them.
Secure Again: Book 2 Once I started I couldn’t put it down. There is so much going on with all the characters. Elizabeth is a surgeon and Martin is the CEO of Chase Security.
Elizabeth is a very caring person and becomes concerned when she starts seeing patients from the local jail coming in with injuries. When Martin gets called home after his brother has been shot, he finds out that Elizabeth is the one keeping his brother alive. These two have a history that didn’t end well for them.
As the investigation continues on both the shooting and the jail injuries things intensify. Can Chase Security get the answers and solve the mystery? Will Elizabeth and Martin reconnect and have a second chance at a HEA?
Overall I loved this book, I was pulled right in and couldn’t wait to see what was coming next. You get suspense, mystery, romance and so much more. I am really enjoying this series. All of the secondary characters are great.
Secure Heart: Book 3 Once I started I didn’t want to put it down. I was excited to read Julian’s story.
Holly is a singer and songwriter trying to make ends meet for her and her son. When something scary happens to her she decides to hire Chase Security which is where she meets Julian. The more time they spend together feelings start to develop.
Julian has started with Chase Security and is trying to move forward from his past. He gets a job watching over a single mom and her daughter. He’s also working on a serial killer case. Will he be able to help them and find the serial killer?
Overall this was a great read. I was on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what was coming next. We get action, love, suspense and so much more. All of the characters added a great element to the story. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I have read books from this author in the past, and this new series is definitely one I will be keeping up with. I really liked the relationship between Callie and Gianluca…and some of the characters in the book were great, too. A good enemies-to-lovers book that I would recommend to other readers.

Cassie has a dangerous secret from her past and Ian will do whatever he can to protect her from that danger. The second book is Secure Again and its about Martin Bailey who is the CEO of Chase Security International and Dr. Elizabeth Reed. Elizabeth and Martin have a very sordid history where she left Martin heartbroken but he’s still hung up on her. Will he be able to keep Elizabeth safe and will she break his heart again. In the third book Secure Heart its about Holly Morrison who has only known abuse but the love for her daughter keeps her going. Julian Dupart is the new head of Chase Group and is trying to heal his broken heart. When he meets Holly’s 4 year old daughter he loses his heart to her and her mom. Will Julian be able to keep her and her daughter safe as well as keep his heart from being broken again? This is an amazing boxed set do yourself a favor and read it today!

What would happen if you killed santa. Wait what happens if you have to turn him. This is Jane problem how could she not know this miracle man was real. Carrie has a way of making this comedy magical and you are laughing out loud as you read through. Wanting a feel good book for this season with a laughable element this is what you want to read.

I lost sleep reading The Sound of Silence. It is an absolute home run of a novel. I deeply respect Dakota Willink’s respectful dedication to revealing the realities of domestic abuse and allowing the countless victimized women to speak their truth through her story. Willink doesn’t use abuse as a literary gimmick, but has a clear and powerful message; Anyone can become a victim, but there is also a chance for a life of security and happiness past the trauma. This is such a delicate subject, and I feel so much more informed after reading this book. I used to wonder things like, “Why would any woman allow herself to be hurt?” or “Why would a woman stay with an abuser?” There is no clear cut answer for every case, but reading this story impresses the subtleties and complexities of these kinds of relationships.
There is a trigger warning for readers in the beginning, but I want to second that warning with another. Some parts of this novel are incredibly difficult to read. Tread with caution. Also, don’t start the book before going to bed because you won’t be going to bed. The Sound of Silence is a must read for anyone who wants to take a step out of their comfort zone and into the shoes of a woman who’s torn apart by the anguish of trauma and is renewed by self-empowerment and love.

Santa got run over by a vampire is the 4th book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. This is a fantastic short, funny and original book. It revisits the characters from the first book in the series, newly turned vampire Jane and her husband Ethan. It’s Christmas time in New Orleans and Jane has an unfortunate run in with Santa when driving her friend Gaston’s car. She must make the decision on to let Santa die or turn him and try and save Christmas but risk starting a war with the fae in the process. On top of that she must deal with her dad coming to town and trying to explain that she is a vampire! This is a really enjoyable book; it is perfect for reading on a cosy winter night and I really liked it. I have read all the books in this series and I liked going back and finding out more about what Jane had been up too.
