Sinful Daughter (Dark Mafia Sins Book 1) by Emily Bowie – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Sinful DaughterSinful Daughter by Emily Bowie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sinful Daughter: A mafia Romance by Emily Bowie is a dangerous and forbidden mafia romance that is dramatic and edgy. This story was very well written and very engaging. Add in a love between a cop and a mafia princess, and I am one happy reader. Another bonus is I have found another creative and talented author to add to my bookshelf.

Theo is a straight arrow that is after justice. Aria was everything he never expected. Sparks flew from the very beginning and continued to intensify throughout the story. The attraction was magnified by constant danger and secrecy. It keeps a reader on the knife’s edge. There is nothing better that danger magnifying emotions and actions. There is a lot of these stories out there, but this author puts an original spin on it and delivers a powerful and energetic drama with explosive sexual energy and brilliant characters. 4 stars.

Sinful Daughter (Dark Mafia Sins Book 1) by Emily Bowie – Review by Lorralei Hoerner

Sinful DaughterSinful Daughter by Emily Bowie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mafia bosses daughter and a by the book cop…..what happens when Aria and Theo fall in love? This story is very good and I enjoyed it very much. Aria is hesitant to join her family as a mafia lawyer and is a “fixer”. She helps her best friend’s mom to pay off drug debts and feels like she need to fix any problem that comes in her way. Theo is by the book cop, dedicated and is driven by his fathers untimely death when he as just a boy. Sparks happen when Theo has a plan to get in on the Rossi family and the mafia family, and involves Aria. Even though they are on different sides, I loved them together. There are definitely some twists in the story….Aria and Theo keeping their romance a secret, finding out what happened to Theo’s dad and and the power driven Rossi family. Great read.

Hawke (Men of Syn Duet) by Anise Storm – Review by Alexandra Leith

Hawke (Men of Syn, #1)Hawke by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hawke is a BDSM romance thriller full of steam, angst, obsession and love. Hawke and Charlotte grew up compelelty different from eachother. Some would even say in compelelty different worlds. His was full of darkness while hers was filled with light, and because of that Hawke is always pushing her away. However, Charlotte is persistent and she keeps pulling Hawke closer even after he’s hurt her. While he is busy pushing her away another more sinister man has set his eyes on Charlotte and is planning something horrific for her. Will Charlotte’s love be enough to help break Hawke free from his past? Will Hawke pushing Charlotte away put her in harms way? Read the book to find out!!!

It was intriguing to read about the give and take of these two characters who’s attraction to one another was explosive. Ansie Storm had me hooked and dying to find out the truth about Hawke. She did an amazing job building up the suspense about him and it made me want to jump to the middle just to learn about his past. Although I liked the book a lot I just didn’t love it. I found the characters to be a little lacking and superficial at times. However, this was still a great read and I truly enjoyed it.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

All I had to read in the blurb was Mafia Princess and Cop and I was sold on reading this book. Sinful Daughter by Emily Bowie is my first book by this author. Theo and Aria’s story was everything that I was hoping for in a forbidden romance – passion, suspense, with some drama mixed in. Emily’s writing left me wanting more. More of these characters and definitely more family drama. Highly recommend checking out this book and waiting impatiently for the next book.

Hello Mafia romance!!
I absolutely love a forbidden romance story. Aria and Theo are completely overtaken with their feelings for each other. They try to fight to that their romance is forbidden but cannot help themselves. You have suspense and unexpected plot twists. Emily nails it with her telling of Aria and Theo’s story. When you get so involved in the story that you find yourself rooting for the “bad guys” is the best kind of experience.
I hope her next book answers some questions that she leaves hanging with this book.

Author India Kells does it again. This book was top notch. Isabel and Kai have met before and fell in love until she left without notice. Isabel had her reasons. After 15 years they are face to face again, pain and lost love brings back hurt and remorse to Isabel. Isabel is the black sparrow in this story and is put in close proximity to Finch. Finch wants to become Mayor of Chicago and enlists Isabel’s company to handle his campaign. I can not believe what happens in this book. Finch is worse than I ever thought. This story was a turning point in the series. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen in book 4. If you haven’t read this series, It is a must read.

This is the 5th book in this series. This is a Romantic Suspense novel and is 153 pages in length. This story follows Sam and Ellie. Sam was a soldier and was just about to give up on life. He meant to call his brother one last time but did a fat finger dial and ended up with calling someone named Ellie, who felt in the same boat as Sam. What better way to start to the new year than in God’s presence, right? Both have a traumatic past they are dealing with and feel they would rather not deal with it at all. That one misdialed phone call will end up changing their path in life forever.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I honestly just love this author so much; I’ve lost count of how many of her books I have ready and I’m sure each one just gets better and better. I am really enjoying this series and I think this may have been my favourite so far! Sam and Ellie – oh my – what a couple! I loved their story, Sam’s story honestly broke my heart sometimes, I just really wanted something positive for him in his life and I knew as soon as he made contact with Ellie, she would be the one to do it! Ellie had her past problems as well and I really felt for her, both of these characters had almost but given up until that fateful wrong number and from then on, I was rooting for them the whole way through!
There are some parts if this story that will trigger some readers but as always, the author deals with them sensitively whilst remaining true to life.
I cannot recommend this book enough – it really is an amazing, emotional and heart-breaking read at times and well worthy of the 5 stars I give it!

Dark Bastard (Dark Sparrow Novel Book 5) by India Kells – Review by Erica Fish

Dark Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #5)Dark Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dark Bastard is the fifth book in the Dark Sparrow series by India Kells. I have read this series from the first book to this book, each one better than the one before it. The storyline deals with a dark subject. The characters are fully developed and complicated. One thing I love about India Kells is her attention to detail. She paints a vivid picture with her details. This book talks about the darkest secret of human emotions. Sam is struggling and has resolved what he feels he must do. He feels his mission is over on New Year’s Eve. He reached out to his brother, or so he thought it was going to be his brother. He, in fact, found someone else that he wants to help. He needs to deal with some darkness to be able to help Ellie. Will he be able to save Ellie and himself from the darkness? I highly recommend this book and the other book in this series.

Sinful Daughter (Dark Mafia Sins Book 1) by Emily Bowie

4 out of 5 Stars

Aria Rossi is the eldest daughter and second out of five children for her father, Nicoli Rossi, the greatly feared Mafia don. Aria’s dream of being a lawyer is close to happening. If she decides to join the family, Aria thinks she knows what her life would be. While she is deciding on the path she will take, Aria decides to live someone else’s life for just one night. Lori, Aria’s best friend, takes Aria to a place no one will recognize her.

Theo Fox is an honest cop. Theo Fox has made it his mission as a police officer to find a way to break both mafia families in the area. When he stumbles across, and by stumble I mean deliberately plans and shows up where she is, Aria on her night of freedom, Theo finds more than he bargains for in Aria. As the dangerous relationship between Aria and Theo starts, Aria finds herself in an arranged engagement. Can Aria and Theo ever be together? Will Theo give up his morals for Aria?

If screaming at a book is any indication of an amazing read, this one is beyond amazing. Emily Bowie makes sure you can feel the danger, the heat, the steam and the heartbreak. This book is kind of like the mafia, once you are in, you are in for life! Some of the characters surprise you when you least expect it. Then, there is that thing that happens. Not the first one that leaves you breathless but the second one that leaves you completely confused.

This book was book 2 in the Satan’s Devils MC: San Diego series and it was such a good read! We get to get an in depth view from Grumbler’s and Mary’s point of view. The world building includes Mary’s daughter who is 17 who makes some risky choices. I loved that within the family of the San Diego chapter that we got to see a new depth unfurl. While there is some deep drama and dark things there was a whole bunch of cuteness too! I loved this book!

This was an amazing book. The characters had me feeling all kinds of things. I even cried. So many twists and turns, I was on the edge of my seat. The intensity is palpable between Zoe and Archer. Zoe comes to work for Archer as a dark sparrow to keep an eye on him. Danger is close as he tries to close a deal to sell his Oil and gas refineries. Finch is always in the background in this novel as well. Pulling strings and trying to bring down a bastard son of his. If you loved book one you will fall in love with this book as well. Be prepared to not want to put this book down though. I pulled a very late night. Onto book 3 as I can not get enough of this fabulous author and series.

Sinful Daughter: A mafia Romance by Emily Bowie is a forbidden love story where the good guy falls in love with the Mafia boss’s daughter and the one man he is trying to bring down. I haven’t read any of Emily’s books before and I was pleasantly surprised. This action packed and tension filled tale is full of twists and turns. It is raw and gritty, and entertaining, and full of emotions. He is hellbent on revenge and she wants nothing to do with the family business. She is his way in, and he is her ticket out. Dark Bastard is book five in the Dark Sparrow series by the enigmatic author, India Kells. There is nothing better than a troubled soul that finds the light. It appeals to my dark and twisted side. There is always an abundance of excitement and adrenalin inducing action. I love the evolving of each character. The author can spin a tale so the reader can almost feel like an extension of the book. I become one with the characters and there hurt is my hurt. Their triumphs are mine. Their tragedies break my heart. Sam needs to save Evie, while battling his own demons. Their charisma was spine tingling and the feeling between them was everything. Emotions were always high and anything could happen at the next turn of the page. A reader needs to brace. For anything. For everything. This author provides all. Everything a reader could ever possibly want or need in a romance. Its all there. Nothing is spared. An that makes this series, these characters, and this author, unforgettable. Losing a piece of my heart to each and every character is magical. 5 stars.

Toni Denise gives us a great novel in Out of Time. This book is the fourth in its series and while I have not read the previous three this one was easy to follow, the characters where wonderful, and the plot was so thrilling that I couldn’t put it down. Her story is filled with suspense, drama, love, and so much more that I devoured the book in one sitting. Ms. Denise gives us such great characters in Jessica, Will and her other characters that I plan on going back and reading the first three. Personally I hope that Ms. Denise isn’t done with this series as I can’t wait to see what she does with these characters next.

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her yet. I enjoyed being pulled in from the beginning. This is a fast paced story that I found to be engaging and hard to put down. The characters are not only relatable but also hot and steamy. They gave life to the story on every page. This is a story about Theo and Aria. He is a cop that is trying to take down a mafia family. He is someone that Aria would love to hate and love. There is a raging war with her family and the problem is Theo is the one who wants to be the victor. He is supposed to be off limits but she can’t help it that everytime he touches her, something happens. What will fate have in store for these two? I enjoyed the chemistry between these two and their heat is off the charts. The growth between these two is amazing. They really made the story for me. This is worth the pick up and I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed this  book. It is the 4th book in the Westbeach Series. I haven’t read any of the books previously but I had no trouble getting sucked into this book and the lives of the characters. I love that this book is a mixture of romance and danger which keeps the story alive and gripping.

Jessica has taken some time away from the family resort and has decided to open her own B&B. She has a lot of work to do but it is the ideal place for her. Jessica is a very strong independent lady who keeps her heart save behind a barrier.

Will is uncle two 2 children. While his sister is in rehab he has looked after the children until her return which has taken longer than anticipated. There is an attraction between Will and Jessica but with everything that’s happening for them both is it really the right time to look into a relationship?

After Will gets ransom letter demanding money Will knows he needs to take the threat seriously. When his sisters house gets burned down he know he has to keep the children safe so he moves them into Jessica’s B&B.
What trouble has he brought to Jessica’s door? Why is someone trying to get money out of Will? Can he protect Jessica from the danger that could now be aimed at her? And can either Jessica or Will survive the pain of opening their hearts up to each other.

I have not read previous books in the series, but I had no problems getting into this one or feeling like I interrupted a series. You get a little romance and a little suspense with this novel. The author did a great job getting your attention right off the bat. I really like how fleshed out the characters are. I also appreciated that there is a sister in rehab. Bringing in that very painful element makes the realness move up a notch for me. Life isn’t always pretty, and it can be hard to let someone in when you have something like that going on. Great read!

Dark Bastard (Dark Sparrow Novel Book 5) by India Kells

4 out of 5

Once again India Kells takes you on a heart-pounding ride with these bastard brothers. The action and steam could light-up a small town. I was hooked from the first page and held on with both hands until the last. I can’t wait until the final chapter in this series!

Sam Sarkhan had his tribe until he was ripped away from everything he knew and loved by Jamieson Finch, the man that fathered him. Sam escaped him, once. Sam had found another family in the men that all carried the same paternal lineage, but none of the scars. Sam’s couldn’t battle the demons anymore. On New Year’s Eve, Sam decided he had fought long enough. Sam calls his oldest brother to say goodbye, but gets a woman’s voice instead.

Ellie McLaren answered Sam’s call. She had been on the verge of making the same decision that led Sam to place the call. After hearing Sam’s voice, Ellie decided that she still had things for which she wanted to live. Sam hoped to find a way to make things better for Ellie but instead dragged her into his world and his fight with Finch. Now keeping Ellie safe is all that matters to Sam, even when that means walking back into his nightmare. Can Sam escape Finch a second time? Will Ellie’s need to save Sam be enough to actually do it? Will Finch finally find the justice he deserves?

The story will have you hanging on the end of your chair to find the answers to those questions and so much more. Another amazing chapter in this series!
