Branches of Healing: Tales of Unsung HeroesBranches of Healing: Tales of Unsung Heroes by Autumn Sand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Branches of Healing: Tales of Unsung Heroes is a collection of stories by eight talented authors. This romantic anthology is full of emotionally charged, raw and well written stories; these stories are truly one of the best set of roller coaster fueled stories that I have had the pleasure of reading. A couple of my favorite are: The Last Letter Home and Finding Us. Mixing these with the military undertones, I found the stories full of depth, creativity, growth, and romance in the most unexpected of places. Adding in the thought behind these stories and the benefit their purchase will have for others is truly wonderful. This anthology is worthwhile for any romance lover!

Branches of Healing is a ‘not-leaving-a-dry-eye’ compilation of stories by eight incredible writers AND on top of that, ALL proceeds go to Healing Paws for Warriors! So not only did I pick up this compilation because I love Autumn Sand and Verlene Landon but also because it has such a great cause! I loved the beautiful stories by Autumn and Verlene (I knew there could not be anything less) AND I love that I was introduced to some other new and amazing writers that I have now noted down in my ‘to be followed and read list)!
This compilation will rip your heart out and then, it will put it back together – these stories are about separation and second chances and overwhelming loss and friendship and chemistry and overcoming unbearable and unthinkable adversity and in one way or other, they are about military and what these brave men and women who serve and the ones who love them, experience … You will experience how it is not just the people that directly involved in an event are impacted by that event but it has a ripple effect … it also shows us many faces of grief and that we all take our own way to healing …
The Anthology includes the following stories:
-Finding Us by Autumn Sand.
-Aftermath by Amy Allen.
-Broken in Battle by Ava Lyn Wood.
-Without You by Bella Emy.
-Saving Grace by J.L Leslie.
-The Last Letter Home by Lorah Jaiyn.
-Soldier On, Moving Forward by Natalia Schellhaas.
-Oscar Mike by Verlene Landon.
Pick up a copy, grab a box of tissues and a bottle of wine and settle in for the night … you will not stop until you have reached the end …

Branches of Healing Anthology by Autumn Sand/ Amy Allen/ Ava Lyn Wood/ Bella Emy/ J.L Leslie/ Lorah Jaiyn/ Natalia Schellhaas/ Verlene Landon – Review by Angela Hayes

5 Stars

Branches of Healing is an anthology of stories by eight accomplished authors; whose works here include stories about people serving in the armed forces, and their loved ones. These stories touched me, made me feel, at times made me smile- but most of all they engaged me from the beginning right through till the end.

The Anthology includes:

-Finding Us by Autumn Sand.

-Aftermath by Amy Allen.

Broken in Battle by Ava Lyn Wood.

-Without You by Bella Emy.

Saving Grace by J.L Leslie.

-The Last Letter Home by Lorah Jaiyn.

-Soldier On, Moving Forward by Natalia Schellhaas.

-Oscar Mike by Verlene Landon.

The stories are all original and unique to the author, but all focus on the same theme. They touch on everything from overwhelming loss, Injury or separation, reuniting/second chances, tragedy, sibling bonds, friendship, tension, chemistry, learning to love again, and overcoming adversity.

I am familiar with a few of the authors, whose work I have read before and have loved, but most were new to me. For a book worm like me, this was exciting, as I am always on the lookout to find more great authors whose works I can follow- and I am happy to have found quite a few with this collection. I really recommend this anthology, you won’t regret the investment. I was pleasantly surprised by this collection of stories. There was not one story is this anthology that I didn’t like. They were all wonderful and really well written. Dive right in, but be prepared to be swept into a journey that traverses shattering loss and devastation; as well as heart-warming and moving tales full of triumph and love.

The proceeds of this novella will go to Healing Paws for Warriors!!!

Thank you to all the contributing authors.

Inevitably Yours (Imagine Ink, #4) by Verlene Landon – Review by Angela Shirley

Inevitably Yours (Imagine Ink, #4)Inevitably Yours by Verlene Landon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Inevitably yours is a story of Augusta and John, will their friendship develop into more or will the fact Augusta is pregnant with another man’s child will this stop John from pursuing her.

Augusta is a woman with a heart of gold, so when she offers to become a surrogate for her friends who were finding it hard to find someone will this decision threaten her relationship with her best friend. So as the pregnancy goes on she becomes more agitated that she has to give up her beloved coffee and that she is now unable to see her feet.

John has always had feelings for his best friend Gus, now that she pregnant it brings back memories for John who has tried to bury his past. He has carefully built up walls around his heart but will his attraction win out.

As the story goes through you get to meet the rest of the characters in the story who you feel the emotion that they are all a family and are loyal to each other. Augusta is a great character and I would her to be in my corner, she is so kind hearted and is not at all privileged. John is the alpha but get to see his softer side when it comes to Augusta and the attraction he has for her, although he is not bothered with the age gap but his history may be the blocker.

I enjoyed the story of these two people and I loved the family feel of the book. This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved the story telling and the characters are rich and full of life. I would recommend this book to others and although it’s the fourth book in a series I read this book as a stand-alone.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Inevitably Yours is the fourth book in the Imagine Ink series by Verlene Landon and just like all the other books this one did not disappoint. I have loved each and every book in the series and the characters just jump into your heart. This book can be read as a standalone but reading the other books first will ensure you have the whole picture of the world in which these wonderful people live. You will find yourself laughing out loud at their antics, crying along when things are sad and crying tears of joy at heartfelt moments. Valerne is one talented writer that you certainly do not want to miss.

This book focuses on Gus who is the one friend who is always there for her friends and knows how to take care of them. She is a free spirit and is willing to help them in every way that she possibly can. Her closest friends are also her family and she has made the ultimate sacrifice for two of those friends. Gus is unselfishly carrying the special gift of a baby but doing so means that she is possibly sacrificing a life with the man she loves.

John is our other main character in this book and he has faced tragedies in his life which have caused him to take on more than his fair share. It has caused some demons that have changed him from the man he once was, a man that keeps thing close to his heart, a man that has to rationalise everything and likes things in order. He is scared that in order to have a relationship means he has to give up control, lose control and that is not something he is sure he can do.

Can John face his demons and move on? Will Gus be the one to help him move forward? Will John be able to let go before he loses what he loves before it is too late? Will Gus be able to keep the man she loves? Will she let him go to set him free?

I love this can’t wait for the next installment to the Imagine Ink world.
