Shattered is the first book in the Torzial Affair series. It ends in a cliffhanger.
While this is the first book in this particular series, not having read the previous series (Prestian series), I felt like something was missing. The author does a good job of working in elements from events I assume are present in the previous series, so it isn’t like you can’t pick up what is going on; I just feel like it would have a more complete feel if I had more of a connection to the supporting characters. For anyone new to this author, I definitely suggest reading the other series first.
Shattered contains sensitive material that may trigger some readers. The author does have a preface in the book regarding this, which is very thoughtful. I liked that the author did not downplay the affects of Jenny’s hardship experience on her mental health.
This book was a quick read for me and overall was a good escape from reality for a bit.

Shattered is the first book in the Torzial Affair series by Via Mari and I absolutely loved it. This dark, gritty and sexy book is something I have been looking to read for some time. It’s a little Fifty Shades mixed with a dark mafia romance. Even if you have never read Via’s books before (like me); it was easy to understand what happened in the last series where you first met Jenny to now with her and Brian.
Via’s writing style will grip you, pull you in and having you begging for this next book. Everywhere you turned there was a twist or shocking information coming at you. Then you get some sexy, panty dropping scenes with just Jenny and Brian that will have you needing a very cold shower. I can’t wait to dive into Bound and see what is waiting for Jenny and Brian next.

Shattered is the first book in the Torzial Affair series by author Via Mari. The Torzial series is a spin-off of the Prestian series by Ms. Mari and while it can be read as a standalone, I have to admit that I felt like I was tossed into the middle of a scene since I did not read the first series. This book follows Jenny Torzial, the owner of a successful consulting firm as she navigates her life following a devastating personal experience. Jenny meets Brian at her best friend’s wedding and feels a deep attraction to the mysterious stranger. Circumstances beyond their control continue to throw the two together and sinister characters want nothing more than to hurt Jenny but Jenny’s new love interest wants nothing more than to protect her. There is so much that goes on in this story that at times it got confusing (I need to read the Prestial series) but as I continued reading, I got a better understanding of what had happened to the characters in the previous series. I liked Jenny and Brian together and I especially liked the way the author didn’t write Jenny’s character as being weak or whiny. Jenny was dealing with a lot yet still managed to have a backbone, these are my favorite type of characters and I will be reading the next book just to see how Jenny grows.

Shattered is book one in the Torzial Affair by Via Mari. It feels like a lifetime since I have read a story by this author. It was well and truly worth the wait. It is like coming home to your favourite pair of slippers, warm, inviting, providing a comfort like no other. The story is not all warm and lighthearted. It is intense, dangerous, passionate and exciting.
Jenny has not had an easy run in life, lately. Meeting Brian was the right thing, just at the wrong time. She bares emotional scars that prevent her from truly letting go, which causes a hold to be put on her life and the happiness that goes with meeting your soulmate. Brian is being patient with her, which goes against everything that makes him the stubborn, dominant and beautiful male specimen that he is. They clash, and those battles are quite the spectacle. Brilliant minds going head to head is explosive. They certainly deliver non stop entertainment, passion and attitude. Entertainment overflowing with drama, danger and decadence. Shattered was an edge of your seat story, that excited and delighted. All brilliantly set out by a gifted and dedicated author. 5 stars.

Shattered is the first book in the Torzial series by Via Mari. It is a romantic suspense that’s full of action, danger, secrets, hidden agendas, humour, mystery, sexual exploration & awakening, some light bondage, a little spanking, plenty of sizzle, the mafia, and so much more. I have loved reading this book, as I really enjoyed the Prestian series, I knew I had to read this one too. But Ms. Mari certainly upped her game with this book/series- blowing past the Prestian books easily. I had been wondering how Via Mari would navigate this storyline/series after everything that happened in the Prestian novels- I admit that I had fairly high expectations, and after reading this I am delighted to say that she surpassed all my expectations, and then some! All the minor issues I had with the Prestian series, seem to have been well and truly resolved in this book/series. I feel Via Mari has hit her stride now, totally comfortable and at ease with her craft- and it really shows in this well written and polished book! The story/series is separate to the Prestian series, but has recurring characters, situations, and some timeline cross-overs- and as such, I would really recommend reading the Prestian series before embarking on this one- as all the information contained in those books will enhance your reading experience of this book/series. This is primarily a suspense- with a great erotic romance woven through it. I love how Via Mari is able to build such intense tension, chemistry, and intrigue- but manages to balance it all with emotion and humour. I loved meeting Jenny and Brian in the Prestian series, but in this book/series, I really ‘got to know them’ so much better! They really are fantastic characters, so beautifully created, with complex personalities that really brought them to life. I was completely immersed in their story- strung out on all the detail, reading anxiously to discover what happens. The story does continue into the next book, but I didn’t miss a beat, diving in and reading the entire series back to back! Superb!! My favourite of Via Mari’s so far!!

Shattered by Via Mari is an incredible romance suspense read that I completely devoured! I was hooked from the start and I read it in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading. This book is intense, captivating, surprising, detailed and action-packed. All the twist and turns had me sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next.
This was my first book by this author, but it won’t be my last, I look forward to continuing this series, as well as, reading the Prestian series as some of the characters from that series make appearances in this one and their story had me really intrigued.
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next romance read!

She won me over with The Prestian Series, and now the first book of Torzial already has me totally hooked. I couldn’t wait for Jenny’s story and I’m so glad she gets not only 1 book but her own series, and I love that Kate and Chase are still right there in the mix.
I love the way this author tells a story, and how easy her books are to read and fall for. There’s always a lot going on and for me that’s always a plus if its easy to keep up with and follow, which always is with this author.
Jennys had some bad things happen to her and by someone she truly trusted and when she finds herself unable to turn away from Brian whose lifestyle should totally scare her away she finds herself battling demons from her past that are still in her life and trying to learn to trust again.
I can not wait to jump into the next part of Jenny and Brian’s story…this is already proving to be another series I get hooked on and totally immersed in. You could start right here with Jenny’s story I suppose, but my extremely high recommendation is to read The Prestian Series first, this is where you will meet Jenny and also get Katarina and Chase’s story.

The Torzial Affair Book 2: Bound written by Via Mari. I was pretty excited for this book after reading book one, Shattered. I love reading Jenny’s story even though it’s sad, disturbing at times and super stressful with everything she’s been through and going through it makes you wonder if her life is ever going to get better and stay positive for more than a few weeks at a time. Ty has done a lot of damage to her life as a whole and even from the grave his actions are a direct threat to her and Torzial. You learn a lot about Matt in this story where he’s normally more of a secondary character he becomes more present and out of the shadows. I’m even more excited to see how book three (Claimed) goes and if Jenny ever gets her chance at happily ever after.

Another spellbinding page turner from Via Mari! This book picks up right where the first ended. I was captivated immediately and couldn’t walk away before I finished reading the entire book. The characters are complex and still relatable. Mari has a unique voice and uses her talents to weave such a strong story that the reader is immediately transported into the story. The story Bound (The Torzial Affair Book 2) by Via Mari is the next amazing book in a series that I would call romantic, steamy, and intense. I would recommend reading this series in order as situations from the first book to the second continue and characters overlap. It makes for a better understanding of what is going on. This story has Jenny and Brian’s romance and exploration of each other progressing. While there is a connection and chemistry that is felt, there are also times when conclusions are jumped to and doubts about trust occur. They are also having to deal with those who want to convict Jenny of the murder of her ex and other forces that are dangerous. Jenny is such a feisty and intelligent woman. She does, however, feel that her life is being turned upside down and spinning out of control. Brian is determined to protect Jenny. He is also dealing with strong emotions and feelings that include jealousy. New threats quickly appear and seem to never end. Read this book to find what happens. This story does have plenty of steamy scenes and dirty talking. There are times when situations arise that I wondered how much this couple will have to go through. There are times of danger and threats that have me wondering what is going to happen next. I enjoyed reading about the part that the additional characters play in the story. Many of them are familiar from the first book and are ones that Jenny and Brian can trust. Others have their own agenda and plans. Can they be stopped? Don’t miss out on the next exciting and steamy book in a series that I highly recommend reading. I can’t wait to read the next story.

The Torzial Affair Book 1: Shattered by Via Mari. If you read the Prestian Series about Chase and Katarina then you will remember Jenny, Kat’s best friend and boss at Torzial. You read about some bad stuff happening to Jenny. Shattered is Jenny’s story, it tells you about the bad stuff that happened between Jenny and Ty, and there is a warning in the beginning of the book. However it’s a great story and I loved reading about how strong, independent and willing Jenny is. Brian is a great character also, you don’t read too much about him in the Prestian Series but he is there. He is also more present along with a few more characters making repeat appearances. I am eager to start book two, Bound.

The story Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1) by Via Mari is a book that caught my interest from the beginning and kept me glued to the pages until the end. One of the reasons I enjoyed the story so much is the characters of Jenny Torzial and Brian Carrington. Jenny is a woman who owns a consulting firm. She is successful and dedicated to the business. However, behind the scenes, she is dealing with emotional scars. Then she meets Brian Carrington. Brian is a man that doesn’t do relationships. He has learned that woman only want him for what they can get from him. Then he meets Jenny. These two have an attraction to each other. She is always in his thoughts. He has become her protector. Will he become more? What does the future hold for Jenny and Brian? Read this book to find out. From the highs to the lows this story had my emotions going up and down with the characters. I felt heartbroken and sometimes angry with what Jenny has been through. She is a character that I grew to care about and wanted her to be happy. There are steamy scenes included in this book as well as bantering back and forth between Jenny and Brian. The book has a smooth flow to it and wonderful character development. This is a wonderful first story in a series and I look forward to reading the next one.

Via Mari – you did it again. What a fantastic book! Another adventure from beginning to end, this book immediately drew me in with its twists and turns and fantastic characters. Some familiar faces graced these pages and I enjoyed the extended storyline. Mari has a fantastic story unfolding for the reader in these pages. Two thumbs up!

Degrees of Power is the fourth book in the Prestian Series by Via Mari. This is a fantastic series, that I recommend you read in order, or you will not have the backstory to understand all the dynamics going on. This is the best installment of this series so far. Katarina and Chase’s story continues in Degrees of Power, and I love how Ms. Mari shows different aspects of making a relationship work in each book in this series. This final book in the series brings closer to some of the things left open in the previous books. Very entertaining story and I would highly recommend this series. You definitely won’t be disappointed.

Degrees of Power, by Via Mari, is the fourth & final book in the Prestian Series. This emotional story has carried through four separate books and coming to that final chapters has been a journey of epic proportions. Katarina and Chase have gone through so much, the ride has been full of twists, turns, bumps and more. Their relationship has pushed limits, yet exceeded expectations in other ways. However, not everything that burns brightly can hold on forever. Following them throughout this series and seeing how their story ends was an amazing journey that could not be missed. “Degrees of Power” is the fourth book in the Prestian Series and the series should be read in order to understand the complexity of the relationships between all of the characters.
This is a series in which we, the reader, are able to watch the growth of the main protagonists as they navigate professional and personal day to day living. The author does a great job of keeping the journey interesting.
The writing is very detailed and at the beginning of this story there is a warning about it containing adult content. As the couple engages in safe and consensual BDSM, the writing stays as detailed as the other plot points in the story.
There is enough new content in each story to keep it fresh while the continuing thread of suspense kept the story moving along.
This is a series I recommend, especially if you have the entire series downloaded before you start as you will want to devour it from beginning to end.

Obviously, I have read the whole series and I have to say it has been one of the best series I have read in 2018 – I loved the progression of the story and the relationship between Kate and Chase, I loved how each book seemed to top the previous one and that is simply unbelievable as you think this is the best the writer can do when you are reading whatever book you are at. Degrees of Power picks up where the third book left off – Kate and Chase are determined to have a life together, despite the danger that is growing more intense by each day. Kate has to look even deeper into herself in order to face the truth – can she fully trust Chase? Can she become part of the partnership where she controls some of the aspects of their life and Chase controls the other aspects … it is so bloody hard…? Will Kate learn in time that in a relationship it is about give and take to keep the relationship growing! Love is not enough; you need to nurture your relationship! So, come along on the journey through danger and find out for yourself if Kate and Chase’s relationship will grow and they stay together through thick or thin … or will they be pulled apart …

🙁 It’s over…I don’t want it to be over! This last part of this series was just as fresh and exciting as the first one, I never lost interest or got bored at any point during my reading of this series. I’m quite content with how it ended as far as the storyline and how this author wrapped things up, I’m just so very sad that it’s done.
I have sincerely enjoyed Katarina and Chase’s journey, it was definitely a bumpy ride and wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows. Through all the other things going on in the stories you could actually feel how their relationship was building and progressing and the push and pull just made them stronger.
This author has definitely become a favorite of mine and I was so happy to see that Jenny is getting her own story and that our possibilities of seeing Chase and Katarina again are quite high.
You truly must read this series but don’t do it out of order, trust me you need the whole story!
Loved Loved Loved it and can’t wait to re-read this in the future.

Degrees of Power is book four in the Prestian Series by Via Mari. Katarina just captivates me. As a character, she is a courageous and fearless woman, paving her path in a man’s world. Chase and Katarina must face many obstacles, be prepared to do what it takes to get the best result and reconfirm the love they have for one another. The level of affection runs so deep between them, it has its own palpable heartbeat. A profound reaction whenever they were in each others vicinity.
Everything about this story was remarkable. It was evocative, suspenseful and unique. Nothing was omitted from the Prestian Series, with a reader getting the full impact of this powerful collection. A highly energetic and dangerously addictive series. This one is a must read. 5 stars

Katarina and Chase continue their hot steamy romance. Along with the continued struggle to trust each other. Which proves to be hard at this time. As Alfreita continues to attack both Katarina and Chase’s families and friends. Now Katarina must allow Chase to protect her and she must relinquish her control.
Via Mari has done it again! This story may be continuing. But so much more has been added. This is one fast paced suspenseful rollercoaster. I loved every page of this book! Her book hit every feel there is. I laughed, cried and got so angry, yet I had to finish this fantastic story. Once you start that first page,you won’t stop till the end.

Degrees of Power ( A Prestian Series Book 4) by Via Mari. I LOVED this series and I’m so sad to see it end. This story wrapped everything up nicely from the others. It picks back up with Kat & Chase and their hot & heavy love for one another. Kat is coming to grips with the fact that in the bedroom she can be a totally different person from the strong, powerful businesswoman she is. She can let loose and she likes it making Chase so happy. They are still dealing with their fathers trying to capture Alfreita and all the dangers that come with it. He is still a huge threat to their safety. Kat must also deal with the repercussions of them still after him. In the end will she finally give her all to Chase and trust him completely? This is such a great series and I loved them all.

Degrees of Power by Via Mari is the fourth and final book in the Prestian series. When I first finished the book I wasn’t sure how I felt about the way she ended it, but after a little bit I have decided that I liked it. Part of the reason is Jenny had her own series and I fully expect Katarina and Chase to pop up.
Katarina and Chase have had quite the whirlwind romance with so many different things happening to them or the people they love, never a dull moment for them.
They have learned so much in the short time they have been together, the biggest lesson is trust and how important it is to a relationship.
I have some questions about some if the things that happened but like I said I’m hoping to see them in Jenny’s story and get those questions answered.

Degrees of Power is the final book in the Prestian Series by Via Mari. I recommend reading the book in order as they pick up where the last one ended. Via Mari does an amazing job of pulling all the stories together. The stories have a mystery, passion, emotions, family issues, fear and romance. Degrees of Power has Kat and Chase together and continuing to look over their shoulders looking for their fathers. Even though they are running it seems like they have time for them. They have a steamy passion romance. You will want to read this story to find the exciting end of the story.

I loved this book! I have loved this series from the beginning, these books are not meant to be read as a standalone. This book picks up right where the last one leaves off. I’m so sad that Chase and Kate’s story has come to an end. I truly enjoyed following the growth and degrees of their relationship. This series took me on an incredible journey. I highly recommend this book, along with the entire series.

Book 4 in this series and I honestly cannot get enough of it! This is by far one of the best series that I have read in a very long time. The author has been able to easily hold my attention over the four books – I didn’t want this book to end as I was not looking forward to the book hangover that I knew was inevitable! The author’s writing is exciting, she pulls you in from the very first word and I just love the characters that she has created! I love Kate and Chase – I can’t help but desperately want them to find their happily ever after! They have such an intense chemistry that felt natural and the author wrote these scenes between them really well. I am gutted that this series is over, it’s been an absolute pleasure to read and I will definitely be looking to read more from this author again in the future. Thank you Via Mari for a fantastic 5 star series – I have loved every single minute of it!
