The Devil’s Shadow (Wild Beasts Series Book 4) by T. Birmingham – Review by Erica Fish

The Devil's Shadow (Wild Beasts Series Book 4)The Devil’s Shadow by T. Birmingham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Devil’s Shadow is an interesting story by T. Birmingham. Even though this book is the fourth book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone book. It has mystery, darkness, paranormal and some romance. This story is about Ginny and Kieran who are destined to be fated mates. They have some obstacles thrown in their path, as well as adventure. I found myself falling in love with Ginny and Kieran. I went on the roller coaster ride of emotions with them. I feel connected to Ginney like we were best friends. I feel bad like I have let her down because I wasn’t there when she needed me to be. These are the stories I love. It is easy to read a book and just read it, but it is the stories that I feel like I am in the story with the character that keeps me reading. I cannot wait to see whose story will be coming next.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Devil’s Shadow by T. Birmingham is the fourth book in the Wild Beasts series. This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the earlier books first. There were characters from earlier books and storylines that were mentioned. I started on this book but really enjoyed this book and will be going back to catch the earlier stories. This book focuses on Kieran who goes with what life brings him. Ginny is broken and she is afraid that she will hurt and wreck Kieran.
I really enjoyed the book and the supernatural setting. This was well written and flowed well making this a fun, enjoyable read. The setting is detailed and the characters are interesting. The story was interesting and had lots of different aspects. I look forward to catching the earlier books and reading further into the series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Devil’s Shadow by T. Birmingham is the fourth book in the Wild Beasts series. This is one of those books that definitely has a bit of everything – fantasy, romance, action, paranormal. There is definitely something there for everyone.
I would definitely recommend reading this series in order. I read this book on its own and I know that I have missed a lot because of that. It felt like the character build up and the story setting has either been done in books before or has been building throughout the series and I knew I didn’t have full knowledge.
However the book was still well written and had a great depth to it. The characters were still interesting and easy to read about. It is obvious to see this is a brilliant series. Which is why I will be going straight back to book 1!!!

I could not wait to get my hands on this book, I love this series there’s no doubt about that but I absolutely love this author, I have read many of her other books outside of this series and she is an absolute must read, one click kind of author.

I don’t normally fall in love with this genre, but I sincerely have, I love all of these characters and the storylines throughout are fantastic. Each book has its own story following a main couple but all of the characters intertwine and there are ongoing stories through the whole series. Something big is happening, you can just feel it while reading and I can not wait to get my hands on the next in this amazingly awesome series.

This author has a style that is unmatched, you start reading and then just cant put it down, you want to just stay in this world she has created.

As much as I don’t want this series to end I also can’t wait to put them all back to back and take a whole weekend to read them all over again.

Loved Loved Loved It!!!

The Devil’s Shadow by T. Birmingham
Wild Beasts Series book 4
My Rating 5 out of 5 stars

I love a good paranormal romance and upon reading the 4th book in this series I would say T. Birmingham has got me again. There is such great depth to the characters and so many different aspects to the book that cover multiple genres. In my opinion I would not read as a stand alone as there are character overlaps from previous books, but I would definitely recommend this series.

In this book we meet Ginny and Kieran. Ginny thinks she is going crazy and does not want anyone close to her for fear of dragging them down. Kieran believes Ginny is his mate, and once he finds his mate he will not stop until she knows she is his. The couple go through some tough trials and tribulations along with some of their friends, dealing with murders and trying to figure out why this is happening, and if they will will make it as a couple or have to go their separate ways.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, as much as the previous book. I love the stories behind each character and learning of pasts and even current issues that haunt them. T. Birmingham as such a way with words, and the stories will suck you right in. I recommend this book to any paranormal lover, as well as anyone who loves romance, action, mystery and suspense all packed into one book.

The Devil’s Shadow by T. Birmingham a five-star read that won’t leave you in the shadows. This is the forth novel in the Wild Beasts series and it could be a stand-alone but honestly, I have read the series and loved it as it progresses along, so I would recommend the series but if you don’t have the time you could just try this one. Ginny and Kieran will captivate you. The depth of the characters in this series have been sublime, you need to invest a little time in this one so don’t think you can pick it up and put it down every five minutes but if you have the time to give in and get stuck in then you wont be disappointed, the world building is second to none and will make you feel like you are in another time and place.

The Devil's Shadow (Wild Beasts Series Book 4)The Devil’s Shadow by T. Birmingham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Devil’s Shadow (Wild Beasts #4) by T. Birmingham is another great addition to this wonderful yet complex series. You could read this as a standalone but I suggest you don’t as the characters intertwine from story to story. It is a paranormal fantasy romance story that has many elements interwoven that makes for one hell of a journey. The suspense and mystery, action and drama had me on the edge of my seat and my heart pumping as I turned page after page just to see where we would end up. I also love the world building and the legends, lore and history behind these wonderful characters and their world where one’s imagination runs wild and free.

I have been looking forward to reading Ginny’s story as she is the most unique and quirky of the bunch. But hers is a heartbreaking, yet heartfelt story, but it explains so much and made me love her all the more.

This is a series and book I would recommend and I look forward to reading the next story in the series.

The Devil’s Shadow is the fourth book in T. Birmingham’s Wild Beasts’ series AND you absolutely need to read the stories in order as there are so many threads that come from the previous books that give us this complex story of dark and light! You will wander in the dark and get frustrated like hell if you do not do so (I know some people say it doesn’t matter but…well, I do not agree! I have read most of her books and oh my goodness, the imagination that the writer has … she still keeps blowing my mind with how she can go from paranormal to wounded warriors … in one breath …
The Devil’s Shadow is the story of Ginny and Kieran and their journey towards each other and their destiny of being fated mates … but that is only the main thread of the story, there are so many other threads that get their answers though well, the writer does leave us with more questions and impatiently waiting for the next instalment! You will cry and laugh and your heart breaks and there are moments that touch your heart and leave you with hope … I cannot wait what the writer will bring us next!

The Devil’s Shadow was a great 5 star read and book four in the Wild Beasts series..
I was once again pulled right in by the author and couldn’t stop until I was done. This was a great storyline along with being a paranormal/mystery read.

Why do we desire, above all other things, that which has the greater power to destroy us?

This is Ginny and Kieran’s story. I quickly fell for these two, I really liked Ginny’s strength. These two were definitely meant for each other. The connection between them was great. There are several twist and turns that will pull you in and add more to this great story. Will they solve the mystery behind the abductions?

My emotions were all over the place. All of the other secondary characters added a great element to the story and were very unique. We get suspense, action, mystery and so much more. You can read this as a standalone but I highly suggest reading from the beginning, this will help you connect better with the characters. .

I am a huge fan of this author and this series. THE DEVIL’S SHADOW is the 4th book in the “Wild Beasts” series. I’ve read the other books so knew what threads have come from previous stories. I do believe you could read this as a stand-alone with out being too lost.

If you took the paranormal out of this book, it would be a good, old fashioned, mystery/suspense. WITH the elements that are interwoven in this story – just WOW. It’s a seriously complex tale that held my interest from beginning to end.

This story has an edge to it that engaged me, as a reader, in such a way I didn’t want to put it down. It’s on the longer side of my typical reads so I didn’t read it in one setting as I would have liked.

A very enjoyable story that I definitely recommend.

The Devil's Shadow (Wild Beasts Series Book 4)The Devil’s Shadow by T. Birmingham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Devil’s Shadow is the fourth book in the Wild Beasts Series by T. Birmingham. It is a fantasy/paranormal romance with mystery, action, suspense and drama. I love the way Ms. Birmingham builds the tension and suspense in this book, and as with the other books in the series, she had me on the edge of my seat, reading as quickly as I could, to discover what would happen.
This story could be read as a standalone, but I don’t recommend that. If you haven’t read the other books, I really recommend that you do because so much back story, character introductions, and other relevant information is contained in those books- and having all that information on board will greatly enhance your overall reading experience of not only this book, but the series as a whole.
As with the other three books, this one also has quite a complex storyline, which Ms. Birmingham has cleverly woven into another captivating instalment.
This story focuses on Ginny and Kieran- although characters we’ve met in previous book/s also make appearances. I greatly enjoyed following them on this ‘adventure’ and finding out a lot of the answers to questions that I’d had.
The world-building, legend, and lore was incredibly well done, superbly developed- and entirely believable. The characters are extremely interesting, likeable and multi-dimensional. There are emotional factors in this story- moments of extreme heartbreak, as well as other moments that were truly heartfelt.
The story has a great pace and is easy to read. I really enjoy Ms. Birmingham’s style and imagination. I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Thank you, Ms. Birmingham!

The story The Devil’s Shadow (Wild Beasts Series Book 4) by T. Birmingham is a paranormal/fantasy romance book. It is a story that hooks you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let you go until you have read the final page. It is a story with action, adventure, danger, and romance. I enjoyed reading about the main characters of Kieran Gimble and Ginny Zolanski. They are characters that you grow to care about and I couldn’t help but want them to be happy. There are also many additional characters that each have a part to play in the story and I enjoyed reading about them as well. There is a feeling of comradery, friendship, and family that is strong. You can tell from the way that they banter, interact, and sometimes conflict with each other. There are both moments that are sad and break your heart as well as heartwarming moments. This is a story that has amazing world building. The lore/history and legends told are very detailed. There are times in the book that I felt like I was right there with the characters. There is also romance included in this story which touches your heart. This is the fourth book in the Wild Beasts series and I loved it just as much as the first three. I look forward to reading the next story in the series. This is a series and book I would recommend.

The crypts of gods, long dead, are being ransacked.
Nature whispers secrets in hushed tones to the beings who will listen.
Prophets call out warnings with each breath of power they speak into existence.
Ghosts haunt. Shadows roam. And the Devil waits for his due.

Kieran Gimble is used to the ebb and flow of the universe. He’s been around long enough to know nothing ever stays the same. Then again, nothing much changes either. And yet, his own world is full of unknowns, including kidnappings and a mate who won’t give him the time of day.

Ginny Zolanski is broken. Whatever super self-control she’s had for the last half-century is failing her. Being close to Kieran may settle the raw pain she battles on a daily basis, but falling for a man she’ll only end up hurting would be her worst decision yet. And she’s made some doozies.

As Ginny falls deeper into the darkness and a past she thought was behind her draws ever closer, it may be that the bond she and Kieran have is her only chance for freedom.

The shadows are closing in and the worlds are unraveling all while Ginny, Kieran, and those at Shadow Lodge try to solve the newest mystery: who’s abducting locals and what do the Light Skröm have to do with it?

Rage Against The Devil (Wild Beasts Series Book 3) by T. Birmingham

This is way more than a 5 star read!!

Eire Donovan, an Others enforcer, has been assigned to to investigate a string of Others murders. She’s tough, showing no emotion and has been more than once called a cold hearted b**** and she has no problem with that, she’s actually quite happy with that. Her childhood was awful and although close to them once, she doesn’t even keep in touch with her brothers. Her investigation takes her to the town of Montville, New York, the location of the latest murder, where she finds she will have to work with a group of what she considers misfits.

Nicholas Arviso, a lone wolf, that is completely happy living alone and away from everyone. Trying with all he has to escape his past sins. He comes across a murder that has occurred in his own back yard. As he gathers his forces to begin an investigation an unknown shows up claiming to be an enforcer for the Others.

Another war rages on in Montville, and all the participants whether Other or Clan, light or dark will all be required in order to solve it and get the answers they need to solve the case. This story revolves a lot around Eire and Nicholas, and what it takes to be able to accept who they are as they are forced to learn more about themselves and each other, and in the process try to deal with feelings for each other that could possibly destroy them in the end.

This series is so hard to review, there is so much involved in this story that it would normally be hard to follow, but this author describes everything in a way that you have no problems connecting all the dots and just like book one, I’ve never read any books where the epilogues are as jaw dropping as these. I would highly recommend reading these books in order to be able to understand everything going on and getting to know all the characters because each one is important. That’s something else that I love about this series…each person in these books are front and center at one point or another all the way through. I’m not a reader of Paranormal normally, but from here on it doesn’t matter what this author writes I will be one of the first in line to one click!! I can not wait for the next book, and the best part is I will get to read the first ones again when the next comes out so that I don’t forget any one of the amazing details.

Rage Against the Devil (Wild Beasts Series Book 3)Rage Against the Devil by T. Birmingham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nicholas Arviso is a cop but he is not your ordinary cop. He is a wolf, but he is not your ordinary wolf. He has spent his life hiding and trying to forget the past. A past that he can never forget. A past he can not forgive himself for. A past that continues to haunt him to this day. A past that has kept him partially secluded from the world. A past he tries to run from literally. Whilst running from his past he finds a gruesome discovery, a crime scene near his home, in his backyard. A crime scene that is so brutal that without his sense of smell there would be no discovering the truth. A truth that will change his life forever. A discovery that will cause him to look inward to find the ugly truth. Secrets that changes the way he thinks and all he has known.

Eire Donovan has lived a hard life forsaking family and friends. Things she has had to see and endure have made her dark, cold as stone, a hard bitch with her gifts make her both dangerous and deadly. She is a thing that most fear even evil itself therefore making her good at her job as an enforcer. Now in Montville, New York, she is chasing after a series of deaths Eire finds that a past she thought dead and buried is back to haunt her. Facing family has made her even colder and sharper than she thought she would become. Eire is darkness, she is an Other but despite all that she has known she must finally face the truth about herself. A truth she does not want to know, a truth she has pushed aside and buried deep within. The truth of who she really is.

Will Nick finally let go of the past? Will he finally accept who he is? Will he be able to save on the one thing that would kill him and who could save him? Will the Light and Dark find even ground to defeat the enemy? Will they find that the differences between them is to much? Will they sacrifice themselves to destroy the evil? Will they find the truth to themselves in time to save themselves?

This book is a Paranormal Romance that is complex and the chemistry is hot but it is also heartbreaking, enlightening and awakening. The world created in this story will draw you in! The characters are well written you will want to just keep reading.

The Devil’s Pride (Wild Beasts Series Book 1) by T. Birmingham

5 Stars only because that’s max, this is an off the star chart read.

Sad I’m done with this book, but happy because I can go right back to page 1 and read it again 🙂

I normally start a review talking about the characters of the book and leave my feelings to the end, but I am putting my feelings first for this one so everyone that doesn’t hit the see more will still see them. I do not normally read paranormal romances or paranormal stories of any kind but this one for some reason caught my attention. I was scared because they normally don’t hold my interest and I then don’t finish the book, which I hate which is why I don’t read them. THIS BOOK!!!! I don’t even have words to tell you how good this book was written, it had me from page 1 and refused to let go till I was finished, and I don’t feel like I took a breath throughout the entire story. This author is AMAZING, and I can not wait to pull up her website and grab anything there that’s part of this series…I want more, and I’m sure you will too. So if you are anything like me and don’t read this book because it’s a paranormal story trust me and give it a shot..you will LOVE it!!

Alexia Maria Garda-Martinez has always known she was different, and if she didn’t know it most everyone let her know by calling her a demon and showing fear when they looked at her. With her red eyes, blood red colored hair, and pale skin. She’s lived for years in foster care and state homes, usually ending badly and forcing her on to the next, she thought she had a home until tragedy struck and she was without a home yet again, until the Martinez’s. Where she now has a family that she loves and that loves her. She has a great career, a full life and a wonderful best friend/roommate Mindy. Along with some very vivid dreams that she can not explain or forget about involving a dark, mysterious man she has named Midnight.

Devon Waters was forced to leave Montville, New York, and his twin brother Cam fifteen years ago. Now he is back trying to reconnect with his brother, who is a detective working on a case, a brutal family murder with unexplainable clues.

There are forces at work in this small town, a war between good and evil. All of the characters in this story are drawn into this war in one way or the other. The story focuses a lot on Devon and Alexia, but there are other characters as well that are just as important.

I can’t even explain anymore of this book, because I could go on for days telling this story, all I will say is that it was outstanding and I do highly recommend it and the epilogue….ugh!!

The Devil's Pride (Wild Beasts Series Book 1)The Devil’s Pride by T. Birmingham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Alexia Maria Garda-Martinez has always felt different, has always been different. That difference being pale skin, red hair and red eyes because of this she has always been looked at differently, especially because of the eyes. Alexia spent years in the foster system never knowing who her parents were or where she came from. She was given a home with a nice loving family, she has a job and is studying something she loves and has the best friend she could ever hope to have, that is like her sister, Mindy. All she needed was someone to love.

Devon Waters and his twin brother, Cam did not have the best childhood which caused Devon to flee from his home in Montville, New York. He was found by people he now calls family who helped him find his true self. Devon decides that it’s time for him to make amends with his brother and heads back to Montville. After being discovered at a gruesome murder scene he is reunited with his brother, who is a detective in the local police department. Cam is having trouble reconciling his feelings for a brother who left him behind but Devon doesn’t plan on leaving any time soon.

Alexia, Mindy and Cam find themselves in the middle of strange occurrences, murder and mayhem. They all have secrets that will leave them questioning just who and what they are. With Devon’s help they begin to understand just what they are up against. They discover there are many things in the world that good and evil, light and dark, friend and foe. The worst they discover is the Skrom who live by drinking blood, they became dark souls, Shadows. They have no respect for life, they take what they want, they are Death. They discover the Shadows now in their town and this leads to a battle that needs them to join forces to stop the evil taking over and destroying what they have come to love.

But who can they trust? Who is friend and who is foe? Will they be able to deal with who they are in time to fight this battle? Will love be enough to hold them together or will the darkness inside be too much to bear?

I enjoyed this story of murder, mystery and mayhem. Fantasy and paranormal in abundance. If you like paranormal romance then this is the book for you.
