For the Love of Laura Beth is the fourth book in A Chicago Christmas Series by Aubrey Wynne. This is a wonderful, moving historical romance, set in and around the Korean War. This “Christmas story’ is woven around friendship, family bonds, sacrifice, resilience, strength, determination, overcoming obstacles, love, and drama. I loved the way each chapter starts with an inspirational quote, as this added to the whole ‘feel’ of the story. A very emotional, well written and thought-provoking read. The characters really made the story for me. It was entirely realistic, relatable, and believable- because Ms. Wynne has a talent for weaving (real) historical elements into her stories and bringing everything ‘to life’! Looking forward to reading more of Ms. Wynne’s work.

It Ends Tonight: Bayou Devils MC book 4 written by A.M. Myers. This is probably my favorite of the series. Quinn made me laugh and cry with this story. Lucas is a great character and always trying to do whatever he thinks is best, especially when it comes to his younger brother. From the moment Quinn and Lucas meet they feel comfortable with each other which is a weird feeling considering how they meet. Quinn and Lucas both have a bad past but are trying to make the best of the present and are not thinking of the future. I cried for Quinn, you feel for her and what she’s going through and then there’s Lucas. The storyline is amazing, the characters are fabulous as always and it’s full of surprises.

RHAPSODY AND REBELLION ONCE UPON A WIDOW #2 AUBREY WYNNE
Four Stars
Rhapsody and Rebellion is one of my favorite type of books. I love Historical Romance novels. You get to place yourself in a time from 100 of years ago. To be in a time where men were gentleman. They held doors, came to pick you up for dates and showed you with respect. Even though in those times women were more like property and broodmares. I mostly like the parts were the men are rakes and all the girls are in love with him but the mom and chaperone are like stay away. I really enjoy the authors take on this time period. Gideon and Lissie are very unique characters. The gift brought the story a twist that was very enjoyable. The only thing I disliked was the way they spoke. I understand that the way they spoke was normal but goodness I could do without. Overall a good read if you like your historical romance filled with adventure and strong characters.

Each book in this box set is unique to my reading taste. I don’t usually go for books about swingers because it’s not a lifestyle I could see myself living. I do have to say that the author did make it sound tempting. Every character was some one you would do a double take to if you found out. The diversity between characters was refreshing. I really liked Paisley. We all need that reminder to love who we are and change what we want to change. Not because someone doesn’t like it but because we see a need to change.

Wow… I’m a bit of a mixed bag of emotions on this one. I read Primogenito, the first book in The Fuentes Legacy series, a year ago, and I really wish I had gone back and reread that one prior to starting this one again. One of the things that I get a bit mixed on with Greta Cribbs’s writing is that it’s extremely detailed. This is both a positive and a negative for me with her. I enjoy the scenery and character building. It makes me feel as if I am there with the characters and experiencing everything firsthand. It is also frustrating to read at times. I find myself having to go back or stop and rethink things and make sure I have my facts straight because it is super easy to get confused with her storylines. The writing is spectacular though and I enjoy the way the story has built so I have to see what comes next in the series. I do hope that we get a bit less detailed. I find it hard to give much away as far as the plot without spoiling too much so for the details you will have to read them yourself. I can say if you like twisty plots, adventure, deep dark secrets, and graphic and dark scenes then this is right up your alley.

Rhapsody And Rebellion, Once Upon A Widow, Enduring Legacy Series, By Aubrey Wynne
5-stars
This was a sweet romance that takes readers back in time. It was too good to put down. Gideon and Lissie were amazing main characters. I loved how opposite they were yet drawn to each other. I didn’t like the address Lissie carried with her but after losing your husband I could understand how painful the loss would be. I really enjoyed the storyline and the differences in the cultures present. I found both the Scottish and English ways fascinating. Such a wonderful read.

Rhapsody and Rebellion: (Once upon a Widow), written by Aubrey Wynne, is the 7th book in the Enduring Legacy Series. This book is a historical romance, and the first I read in this series, and I LOVED IT. I found myself lost in the world of Gideon and Alisabeth. Alisabeth lost her love and then a month later Gideon comes to town and awakens something so deep inside her. Gideon leads his life people proper and never straying until a dream his mother has changes thing. These two are so drawn to eachother but the guilt that Alisabeth carries is almost too much for her but the desire also takes play into the road of Gideon and Alisabeth. Once Gideon finds out about the rebellion he needs to fight not just for country but for the one who holds his heart.
The author truly puts you in the book, in the story with a storyline you get lost in. You can close yours and see the era and also feel what the two main characters feel each step of the way. Being as this is the first book in the series and also the first by this author, I am jumping in and reading this whole story. I give this book five stars and highly recommend for anyone who loves historical romance! WELL DONE!

Distant Memory is the third installment of the Solum Series by Colleen S. Myers. This story takes off from the end of Solum book 2. I highly recommend reading books 1 and 2 because you will not have the back knowledge of what is happening to Beta. This story had my attention from the first word to the very last word. With each book, I learned more and more about Beta. She is a strong woman who should not be challenge. The story is an action and suspenseful full of revenge and second chances. E’mani kidnapped Finn, Beta’s brother and former lover and now Beta is in a race to save him from the E’mani. Will Beta find Finn in time or will the E’mani have their way? You will have to read this book to get the answers to these questions.

The Bayou Devils MC series from AM. Myers just keeps getting better and better. Being the fourth book in the, It Ends Tonight, had some high standards to beat for me. Yet, it did not for one second disappoint and actually set the bar even higher for the ones to come. Now if you haven’t read the first three and are panicking because you really want to read this one first, don’t. You should be ok picking this one up first. I would recommend that you start with the first one to enhance your reading pleasure and to really get to know the MC. It isn’t a must though.
In this book we get to know Quinn and Lucas, and let me tell you these two are by far my absolute favorite couple so far. These two were just made from the same mold and their story was like enjoying a great piece of chocolate. It is so satisfying that you savor it and love it, and then it is gone and you don’t even realize it. Except in this case its not chocolate there just is a the end. At least the bonus come with a book five that I can’t wait to get my hands on. Thanks for another great read A.M. Myers!

A Pink Christmas Kiss is the third book in the Christmas Kiss series from author Allyson R Abbott. Even though these books are a part of a series, they can be read as a stand-alone, but personally, after enjoying each one of these, you would want to read them all. This is my third read from this author and once again I was totally captivated by her writing style her characters, and the brilliant storyline she has once again created. She has brilliant in-depth writing, she makes her reads descriptive and I can’t wait to read some other books from her. This one I think stands out the most to me, I thoroughly enjoyed this read, all characters in this series are down to earth and relatable, but there was just something about Billie & Leroy, especially Billie that was really relatable and real.
I love how each of these reads is set in small towns, it brings an extra special element to these reads that I thoroughly look forward to reading. This was such a heartwarming read that has friends, family, Second-chances, passion and determination. Leroy and Billie have an undeniable connection even after the five years apart, but the connection they had before doesn’t take long before it’s brought to the front of there feelings, Or other townsfolk wondering when they are going to be getting back together, they have a bit of a rough start, with the banter going back and forth and Billie always saying the wrong thing, but will they realise that their feelings are just too strong to deny and will Christmas be the time that brings them back together?
This is a brilliant short, easy read that you shouldn’t miss! I highly recommend this book and the previous two before.

Hope’s Deceit is the second book in The Fated series from Angela McPherson, and like I said with my review of the first book, Hope’s Decree, paranormal romance is McPherson’s strong suit. Angela McPherson can build a world with her words that makes you feel as if you are taken away in a dream to this place that you never want to leave. I wanted to explore it so much as I almost felt as if I could feel the air, smell the smells, and experience all the senses at heightened levels.
With that said we pick up right where we left off in book one so I would highly recommend that you read that before this one or you will be completely lost. In this book we find Blain and Trinity finding more of themselves. Trinity growing into her powers at times and others still not completely sure how to use them. Of course those times she is calm and centered are when she is on Blaine. He is her center. Together the world balances, apart it falls apart. These two have a lot riding on them and their love. Oh and watch out for the cliffhanger. It will have you running for that third book right away. I know I sure did, and I am off to start it right now! Happy reading!

This is a heartwarming and heartbreaking Christmas story that will bring you hope. This is a story about Laura Beth and Joey. They thought they had the future figured out until the Korean War threw a wrench into it. What they didn’t realize is the struggle after Joey comes home. Their story is emotional and warming at the same time. They are well thought out characters that are strong and made the story for me. I highly recommend this book.

There is never enough words to review the words of Phoebe Alexander’s Eastern Shore Swinger’s Series. Each time one comes up for a release day I preorder and start counting down the days till it hits my kindle. To say I adore this series would be an understatement, so when I found out that you could now get these in a beautiful box set I had to snatch this up! From the gorgeous covers to the beautiful stories inside you can’t go wrong. Here’s my individual review for each of the books included in the set. Happy reading! Book #1: Fisher of Men: “Clearly the simple fisherman was much more than she had given him credit for.”
I just have to applaud Phoebe Alexander for really hitting this one out of the ballpark, way beyond a home run. This was such a well written, encompassing, and informative, as well as entertaining and full of a beautiful love story, novel that I am still reeling from finishing it. If I could give the novel more than five stars I would most certainly do so. With that said, this book is not for those that can’t keep an open mind and is not willing to learn a thing or two. I personally read and write erotica, practice a lifestyle most would definitely not define as ‘vanilla’, and I still have six pages of notes from this book that I loved and had to write to keep with me. It will be hard for me to decide which of the juicy details to share with you and which ones to make you go one click and read this now! I assure you will be canceling all plans until this one is read beginning to end.
So, with that all out of the way this book is a contemporary erotica novel that delves into the world of the swinger’s lifestyle. I believe it is a standalone, but there is an accompanying book or two in the works or one may be out already. This one follows Leah Miller and Cap Sheldon, and the journey they take to find their place in the ‘lifestyle’ and in the world really. I will start with Leah; she is a vibrant, young and hard-working woman. She was the preacher’s daughter in the small town of Wahoo Nebraska (small town Nebraska girl here so I get it). She wanted nothing more to leave to and find her own place in the world. Not follow in the footsteps of her parents. After graduating college, she moves to a small resort town off the coast and becomes a successful guest manager at The Pearl hotel. It is there, covering for a sick bartender, during a fundraising event being held in the ballroom that she meets Captain “Cap” Chris Sheldon. There is an instant spark between the two. It made Leah rethink her simple life was maybe ready for some fun and affection.
“I guess it’s just been so long since I looked at a man and saw anything more than a father, a brother, a boss, or a guest at The Pearl… Maybe I’m just longing for my next romantic adventure… Maybe it means I’ve healed. Finally.”
It is also the time that Cap reveals the true reason for the party, and the odd behavior of the guests… “It’s a swinger party, Leah. We’re swinger’s.”
“Everything clicked: The provocative attire, the kissing and groping, the exchange of partners on the dance floor. But still swingers? It seemed like a mythical construct to her, like Santa Claus, or Big Foot, instead of the real thing.”
Despite the revelation shaking up Leah and her shoulder angel and devil the evening goes well and it the group asks to continue booking with The Pearl for future events and fundraisers. All Leah can thing about it Cap. “Despite her careful attention to all of those important matters that Cap character from the party from the party kept triggering little flashbacks. Those ocean-blue eyes and dimples were simply unforgettable.”
What follows is the relationship budding between these two and the dynamic that goes on in a relationship that isn’t necessarily a conventional one, but is still one none the less. The most fascinating part is each chapter begins with a passage from the bible that does work directly with that chapter. The main concept being that this is not really a viable reason to disavow the lifestyle choice to be a swinger. On a religious viewpoint in general there is just way too many outdated viewpoints in the current scriptures that do not back up those that use that as a way to defend their bigotry towards something they do not understand. If you have questions and want to read a sweet love story all at once this is really the book for you. I will leave a good passage from the book that I found to be really profound personally here at the end of my review, and I hope that people do decide to read and enjoy this book. I know I personally will be back for more of this author’s work in the very near future!
“In the old Testament, the Israelites are forbidden to wear clothing that has more than on type of fiber. So that means anything that a blend-like cotton and polyester together- would be a sin… There’s other things too. Like when a woman had her period, she was unclean for 7 days and could not be touched… My point is there are a lot of laws and commandments in the Bible that we don’t not follow anymore. Not only that but most of the scriptures regarding marriage and sex are completely outdated today because marriage was a much different institution than it is now. Back then, wives were property, bought from their fathers for a dowry. Adultery laws were more about stolen property than infidelity. And what about the multiple wives’ thing? Men could have as many wives and concubines as they could afford. Polygamy is illegal now.” (Mary a friend, spiritual leader, and fellow swinger of the couple.)
Book #2: The Catch The Catch is technically the second book in the Fisher of Men series from Phoebe Alexander. It could be read as a standalone without confusion, but I promise that you won’t want to miss the first one! The books are fabulous. In fact, I may be a bit partial in the consideration that Phoebe is a one-click for me. I don’t ever question, I just buy when it comes to her novels, but she has never ever let me down, and this was no exception to the rule.
As with most of Alexander’s works there is a strong tie to body positivity among her lead female character, Paisley. Something we all could use a little more of in our lives. I loved Paisley, and learned a thing or two from her myself. I too am a curvy and vivacious woman, and I too have my own demons. I appreciated how Paisley handled hers and could relate to her on a very personal level.
Paisley has been on the run from her past for a long time now. Her current situation finds her helping out at “The Factory”, a local swingers club in a small Maryland town. Yes, I said swingers club, so if some spicy romance scenes are not your thing heads up, but really it is done with the utmost class and absolute realistic approach. Something rarely found in fiction related to alternative lifestyles.
It is at this club that she meets Calvin. Where Paisley finds a comfort and release in the lifestyle Calvin does not. It is not something he disapproves of, he just doesn’t want to live the lifestyle. This is all well and good and leads to a good friendship between the two instead. At least until the twist you don’t see coming is thrown in their path. What will happen when these two are thrust together to protect Paisley from her past?
“What takes anyone anywhere? Love and heartbreak. Those are the two forces that move people.”
Book # 3 Siren Call
Siren Call is the third book in the Eastern Shore Swingers series by Phoebe Alexander. It can be read as a standalone novel since Phoebe does a wonderful job of filling the reader in on the background of the previous books enough to fully understand this novel. I have read book one, Fisher of Men and loved it, but have not read book two and had zero issues with reading this one out of order.
I absolutely love this series. We are taken back to The Factory, an exclusive club just off the eastern shore near Ocean City. This book focuses on Jessie, a local cop and loyal friend of the owners and operators of the club. They have asked her to help them out with a bit of a mystery they have surrounding one of the newest members in the club, Sirena. There are a lot of rumors going around and none of them are good, not only are there rumors but suspicions and feelings of unrest amongst everyone, that something is wrong with Sirena that she isn’t letting everyone in on.
“Ah, okay. So basically what we have here is a Unicorn who is exactly what couples are looking for, but exactly the competition- perceived competition, anyway- that women don’t want.”
In a hope to protect the club from coming under fire and to help her friends, Jessie agrees to look into things and get to know the elusive Sirena.
“Well there’s nothing I love more than a good mystery… But she would do just about anything for Paisley, Calvin, Casey, Cap, and Leah. She thought of the whole staff as family.”
The journey that this takes Jessie on is one that she will never forget and will teach her more about herself than she ever anticipated. Will she be able to help Sirena too along the way or will she push away the one thing that will give her the answers to all her longing and dreams?
“Cut the ending. Revise the script. The man of her dreams is a girl.” -Julie Anne Peters, Keeping You a Secret
This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed her style of writing and characters. This story is easy flowing and engaging. This is a story about Alexa and Kent. Alexa is a woman who seems to have it all together until some events happen that make her second guess herself and even make her fearful. Kent is an angry cop until the day he meets her. Will she be able to melt his heart or will the shadows win out? Great, strong characters with great chemistry! I highly recommend this book.

Rhapsody and Rebellion: Once Upon A Widow by Aubrey Wynne is the seventh book in her Enduring Legacy and this series just keeps getting better and better. Classified as a historical romance, this book checked every box for someone looking for a little romance, suspense, mystery and history all rolled into one. Following the story of Alisabeth and Gideon, when Alisabeth marries her best friend. The affection and loyalty that they have for each other, but the passion that burns between them surpasses all other emotions. When tragedy strikes Alisabeth making her a widow. She is lost trying to figure out what is the next step in her life, until she meets Gideon. While she is a widow, Alisabeth is still a strong full of life woman, and a beauty to all of those around her. Gideon is a man who enjoys being single, and while he is not looking to get tied down there is something about Alisabeth that he can’t deny draws him to her. Gideon doesn’t care for the matchmaking wiles of his mother and the society ladies, but when his mother wants him to take her to their Highland home, he can’t deny her. It is there that Gideon meets Alisabeth. The attraction is instantaneous, and while neither of them are looking for a future together, Alisabeth’s appearance in Gideon’s life makes him start to think about the way his life is going. While Alisabeth and Gideon grow closer, Gideon is determined to learn about his Scottish heritage and while this opens a whole new world for him, it could lead to danger for Alisabeth. When word of the political unrest in Scotland reach England, will Gideon and Alisabeth’s budding love be put to the test? Or will they grow and rise together to achieve a happily ever after? Wynne is a new to me author, but I am so happy that I picked this book up. While this book is the seventh book in the series, I didn’t feel like I missed out having found the series so late in the game. I have gotten ahold of all the previous books so itll be a treat to read them all in order. If you are looking for a great story, building a fantastic story and series, then this is one that you need to pick up today! I can’t wait to see where this series goes in the future.

This is a contemporary romance story I couldn’t put down until the end. The author’s writing style is easy flowing, characters are well developed and made me feel part of the story. The twists and turns that they took me on left me sitting on the edge of my seat and the emotional roller coaster was intense. Eden and Theo both have had tragic accidents in their lives that left them just moving through the motions until they meet. Will they find themselves when they find each other? A must read!

Only This Tuesday by Melissa Keir is a Copper Mills Novella.
Tuesday is my hero in a food truck, not only can she cook but she has an amazing heart. She tries to look out for people who don’t feel like they have a voice for themselves and she does great things.
Blake is the Mayor of cozy Copper Mills and newly single. After a chance encounter at the grocery store of all places he meets Tuesday and is fascinated with her instantly.
There is good, bad and a whirlwind romance. Overall a sweet story that I enjoyed.

This is a second chance-boy next door romance book that I loved. The author’s writing style is easy flowing and the characters are well developed, strong and loved their chemistry. The author pulled me in right from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down until the end. Elena left years before but now she is back to take care of her mother’s passing. Weston is the boy she left behind. If she walks away again will the be a bigger cost? Their story is a must read!

Rhapsody and Rebellion is the seventh book in the Enduring Legacy series. Each book is by a different author (in this case, Aubrey Wynne), but all focus on the same Scottish family whose mysterious powers are both a blessing and a curse. The books can be read as stand-alone stories, but are connected to each other. I really liked the grounding in historical events, and the attention to historical detail in the worldbuilding. It definitely falls into the historical fiction bracket for combining history lesson with drama and bringing a time and place to life. For me, the written Scots didn’t quite flow but this may have been because it was only used for certain words. Other than that, I felt thoroughly drawn into the story! I particularly liked the character Alisabeth – she’s grieving and struggling to find her place in families in the world after losing her husband. She’s sensitive to those around her and generally a well-developed character. It’s a classic love story, but the historical setting and magic add a unique flavour. If you like romance, and are interested in British history (although mostly focusing on Scotland, we get to see various places in England as well!), this is definitely worth a read! For me, it gets four stars.

A Tangy Christmas Kiss (Christmas Kiss Book 2) by Allyson R. Abbott
5 Stars
So I’m not completely sure how many of this authors books I have read now but I know it’s been more than a few and that total will continue to grow. I love every single story I pick up by her.
This one had a completely different kind of story line, it was a quick read and the adventures with Mel never really let up throughout. It was fun watching her drop everything to fly to Spain to house sit for her aunt and she actually can’t wait to visit her aunts little house on the beach. The adventures start during her plane ride and just kept going.
I love fast moving quick reads and then add in a hot spanish guy and a grumpy neighbor and a whole boatload of chores she wasn’t expecting with Christmas fast approaching this turned out to be an awesome story, and I wondered all the way through how this book got its name and now I know.
I highly recommend this and any book by this author. She is an absolute favorite and I can’t wait to dig into Christmas Kiss #3

The story The Memory of Us by Lisa Sorbe is a new adult romance book. It is a story that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster and doesn’t let you go until the final page. I loved reading about the character of Elena Everhart. She is a woman who is a successful lawyer. She is someone who keeps her relationships at an arm’s length. When she returns home to take care of the aftermath of her mother’s death, she believes that she will be finished quickly. That she will then be leaving the past behind her. And then she sees Weston Brooks again. Her and Weston had a special and strong bond when children. She left him once in order to save her heart and to pave a future for herself. Now she finds that the attraction and feelings for Weston are still there. Elena tries to keep her distance. Will she be able to leave again? What does the future hold for Elena and Weston? Read this story to find out. This is a story about the power of memories, friendship, love, and loss. There were moments that my eyes were misty and others when the story had me smiling. I had empathy for Elena and what she was feeling. Both she and Weston are characters that I grew to love more and more with each chapter that I read. I could feel the push and pull going on between them and I wanted them to find happiness. This is a story that I would highly recommend reading.

Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1) By: Virginia Wine 5 out of 5 stars
The story Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1) by Virginia Wine is a contemporary romance book. It is a book that is enjoyable to read and has characters that I grew to love with each chapter. The two main characters are Dr. Theodore Grants and Eden. Theo is a psychiatrist. He is also a man that simply exists, no emotional attachments. He has never felt that way towards anyone. That is until he meets Eden. He is there to help her and finds himself also wanting to protect her. There is an attraction that is undeniable, a pull towards her. Eden is a beautiful, strong-willed, intelligent, and talented woman. She also feels an attraction towards Theo. There is passion and desire between Theo and Eden. There are also conflicted emotions. What does the future hold for Theo and Eden? Read this story to find out. This is an author who knows how to write a story that will have your emotions going up and down the entire time. Theo and Eden are characters that I had empathy for and I also found myself wanting them to find happiness in their lives. This story also has a bit of mystery that will have you asking questions. There are steamy scenes that red hot and that make the temperature in the room rise. If you want to read a romance story that will have you turning pages to find out what will happen next this is the one for you. This is a powerful and entertaining first book in a series.

For the Love of Laura Beth (A Chicago Christmas Book 4) By: Aubrey Wynne 5 out of 5 stars
The story For the Love of Laura Beth (A Chicago Christmas Book 4) by Aubrey Wynne is a book that I loved reading. It is a story that had me misty-eyed at times and also with a smile on my face. There are heartbreaking as well as heartwarming moments. The story takes you on an emotional ride that doesn’t stop until you have read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Laura Beth Walters and Joe McCall. These two have been best friends and that has blossomed into love. They have a bond that everyone who falls in love wants to have. They are devoted to each other. The Korean War drastically changes their wedding plans. They then must bear the separation. When Joe returns home their marriage is tested by tragedy. Laura Beth has always been a compassionate and strong woman. The type to always help those when they needed it, picking them up when they were down. Joe is determined that he will now be the one she can lean on. This is a story about family, love, and trials. Souls Collide: Collide Series Book 3 By: Kristina Beck 5 out of 5 stars
The story Souls Collide: Collide Series Book 3 by Kristina Beck is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It has the right amount of romance and suspense that makes it a story that I had a hard time putting down until I finished it. It had me turning pages to find out what was going to happen next and also falling in love with the characters of Alexa and Kent. Alexa is a woman who is beautiful, intelligent, and independent. She is also caring and compassionate. I love that she doesn’t shy away from saying what she thinks. One person who she doesn’t mince words with or about is Kent. Kent is a police officer that doesn’t show his emotions. He comes off as unsympathetic at times and even his friends tell him his attitude is poor. Then he meets Alexa. When these two first meet the sparks fly. Those sparks at first show conflict between them. Then something begins to change. Kent becomes protective of Alexa. Even more so when a stranger begins lurking around her. When they kiss there is a passion that is undeniable. What does the future hold for Kent and Alexa? Will these two find themselves in a relationship or will their differing views keep them apart? Will Alexa’s unknown pursuer be caught? Read this book to find out. I loved reading about Alexa and Kent. There is a push and pull going on between them and there are times when their conversations had me with a smile on my face. They are characters that I wanted to find happiness. There are also other additional characters who I enjoyed reading about. Both the part that they play in the story and also their interactions with Kent and Alexa. If you love romance with some mystery and suspense this is the book for you. I would highly recommend reading it.

The Changeup is the 6th book in the Resort Romance Series by Mary Billiter. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. I had previously read one of the other books in the series, Wine Thief, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The Changeup was also a really good read and I’d definitely read the others in this series too. The changeup is a murder mystery with added romance. Although it’s a murder mystery, I also found much of the book to be light hearted. I really loved the characters in this book, not just Rebel and ‘McHotie’ Ryan, the 2 main characters but also Rebel’s workmates who have a large part to play in the story. When you’ve just moved to a new area under the witness protection programme the last thing you want on your first week at your new job is to find a dead body but that’s exactly what happens to Rebel Roberts. Her knight in shining armour is delivery guy Ryan McHenry, a trainee police deputy, who is there when she finds the body of former police deputy Bernie Thomas. What follows is a great story in which Rebel and Ryan, with the help of Rebel’s colleagues, try to work out why Bernie was murdered and also what dodgy dealing are going on at the hotel they are working in. I would definitely recommend The Changeup, and the rest of this series to anyone who enjoys a good romance with a little intrigue added.

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve read a book like this and it’s one I devoured.
Gideon the Earl of Standfeld was raised to be his father’s image. He’s very practical and exact. Lines are not blurred in his world so when his mother has a dream and begs to go back home to Scotland, he has no idea how his life is about to change and one highland beauty will catch his eye.
This book is the 7th book in the series but definitely can be read a standalone. I enjoyed the characters as well as the story intertwining with real historical events. Miss Wynne has a way of sucking you in with her story telling and not let you up until the end. I will be going back to book 1 in this series and I can’t wait to be sucked into each and every one of these stories!
