Rebecca Steele Finding the Dream (Rebecca Steele Series #2)Rebecca Steele Finding the Dream by Joanne Patterson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The characters were well written and the settings were very detailed. I want to go the The Hummingbird for drinks and music.

I haven’t read the first book, but this book did well as a stand alone for me. I liked the lead up to the drama and shenanigans that were taking place. Also, I need horses.
If your looking for a good hometown sweet read, this book (possibly series) is just what you’re looking for.

I’m just a girl in the world – of writing. Originally, I hail from the great state of Texas but have been in jolly old England for the last few years. The beautiful UK has had an amazing impact on my writing, especially since the Blood of Kaos Series starts in Wales. How exciting it is to experience a real castle – whether it be a ruin or not. And the historical architecture is astounding. It changes your whole perspective, as well as raising a lot of questions. Usually, about this time, the author details all their writing accomplishments, awards, and honors. Me? I just write what I enjoy. I hope you will enjoy it, too.

Shattered: a Logan McKenna Mystery Book 1 (The Logan McKenna Series) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Angela Shirley

Shattered: Logan Book 1 (The Logan McKenna Series)Shattered: Logan Book 1 by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Shattered by Valerie Davisson is the first book in this series and brings us into the world of Logan pretty quick. This book is a thriller and book took me a while to get into through all the backwards and forwards in timelines and people but overall was a good read and a well developed story.

The character of Logan did grate on me somewhat and at times I was a little lost as too her true purpose in her sleuthing but the overall who done it was good. The story had its twists and turns with the red herrings dotted throughout the plot and I did kinda have an idea of the murder by midway through the book but reading the way the author unraveled the story was brilliant.

I would recommend this book, it’s a page turner and does make you think. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Five Stars

Shattered: A Logan McKenna Mystery Book is the first in the Logan McKenna series by Valerie Davisson. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Davisson, but definitely won’t be the last. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series. I love a good mystery that keeps you guessing until the end. I love even more a strong female character that can hold her own. This book really fits these issues. Logan is a strong character and very relatable. As she digs in to finding a murderer and keeping her friend out of jail, she finds herself delving into the world of glass working. If you like a good mystery with a fast pace, this is the story for you. Can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in this series.

I was intrigued by the synopsis and pulled in by the beautiful cover. And fell face first into a story that unfolded and kept me riveted. Wow. The author does a beautiful job weaving this tale with relatable characters all around a relevant and timely topic in a sensitive poignant way. You can it walk away from this book without grappling with this very real issue. My heart was unprepared to be burdened by this issue but is ten times bigger for considering it due to this beautiful writing. Five stars!

Drawn to HimDrawn to Him by Tammy Mannersly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I found myself pulled into Matt and Erica’s story from the beginning and it held me captive up to the last page. Erica has been burned in the past and is not in the market for a relationship. She has sworn those off. Instead, she focuses on the passion of her work at the local art studio and supply store. Matt recently moved to their small town and is a doctor. He has found himself playing wingman to his best friend Nate which, as of late, is starting to bore him. However, he is also not in the market for a relationship.
A clumsy accident leads Erica into Matt’s office and there is an immediate attraction between the two. While hooking up and keeping it casual is what they agree on, each fights their own reservations about love and relationships along the way which keeps them from exploring what they could really be. When the local single women see Erica and Matt together, they are not too happy…and someone makes their unhappiness known. Can Erica and Matt find out who is behind the mysterious packages and phone calls? Can they put their pasts behind them to explore their future?
I really enjoyed this story from beginning to end. Erica is a strong woman who is set in her way. Matt is determined to make her want him and want something more than a friendship. I enjoyed their banter and pulled for them to make it happen. This is my first book by this author…but it won’t be the last.

As Her Soul Remembers
By Stuart Ledwith
☆☆☆☆☆
This is a short full length novel. Packed with history, romance and living in the unknown.

Sarah Tarbell along with her younger brothers were kidnapped. Everything they knew changed. Right down to her brothers being adopted and her being sold. This is a walk through of what she remembers. Her life, her kidnap and the struggles she fought. I will not give you more. Only to say if you like Historical Romance, this is a book for you.

While Stuart Ledwith, is a new author for me, he was very much liked. This story is well written and easy to follow. I enjoyed the history as well as the romance. Sarah is one strong child, who became an adult in this story. Stuart Ledwith’s description of events, made me feel like I was there. I also loved the other characters, as they fit their parts well. I really enjoyed this story, and I will be looking for more from Stuart Ledwith. Job Well Done!

A Duke Never Forgets (The Duke Hunters Club Book 3) by Bianca Blythe – Review by Faith Jackson

A Duke Never Forgets (The Duke Hunters Club, #3)A Duke Never Forgets by Bianca Blythe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Witty as these characters’ sense of humor captivates the reader. Great world building as we see England in its heyday. Entertaining with what they have going around one another from the Duke almost drowning to how the family acts around him playing with and on his lapse of memory. Romantic because you can tell she’s getting a little too close to the pot if you catch my drift. The characters are wonderful in the most unexpected ways and their romance gets steamy as the story gets underway. This is a funny book that has a lot of quirks. I love these characters’ chemistry as they build from dislike to like to love as usual but there’s something about this one. It’s easy to read and understand but quite the page turner with the way it unveils. This book is worth my 5 star rating for all of the above and more!

by Isra Sravenheart

I enjoyed this book. This story has originality, magic, fantasy, romance, and wonderful characters. Lady Isra is dark and evil, and she likes it that way. She prefers to be alone and away from humans that she feels are inferior to her. The relationship between her and her companion Astrid was interesting and I enjoyed reading about it. The author did a wonderful job in the details especially when Lady Isra would walk in the forest, I felt like I was right there in it. I would have liked to know what became of Romeo. This is the first book I have read by this author and it will not be my last. I recommend this book.

This was a gripping story to read. It deals with human sex trafficking which can be a very sensitive subject and while some People may not like how graphic the book was i think it was needed to actually get across the pain, humiliation and despair that people go through. I really enjoyed this book and the characters are so well written you find yourself wanting the best for them and rooting for them to succeed.

Trey himself has his own demons to fight from his past which keeps him cold, distanct and a trained killer. As Nikolai’s second in command he is very protective of those he cares about and will stop at nothing to protect them.

When he first meets K she is a victim rescued from a house where they were used as sex slaves. Something inside her eyes speaks to Trey and he realises she is has broken as he is.

Can they mend each other or are their demons too big to overcome?

I loved reading the book Shooting Star (Back Door Records Book 1) by Xana Jordan. It is a romance story that pulls you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go until the final page. It is the story of an agent for a record label and a beautiful woman whose sultry voice sets his world on fire. The chemistry and attraction between them are off the charts. I loved reading about the bantering that goes back and forth between them. They are two people who will have you believing in true love and soulmates. There are some very romantic moments included in this story that make the temperature in the room rise. I also loved reading about the additional characters that are introduced. Their comradery and friendship shine through with each conversation that you read. The author does a wonderful job of making you feel like you are right there with the characters. There are times when I was smiling and laughing out loud. Other times had swoon-worthy scenes. Don’t miss out on a romantic story that will touch your heart. I highly recommend reading it.

I loved reading the book A Duke Never Forgets (The Duke Hunters Club Book 3) by Bianca Blythe. It is a historical romance that pulled me in from the beginning and I was hooked. I loved reading about the characters of Sebastian, the Duke of Sandridge and Genevieve. I love historical romances and this book is a wonderful example of why. It takes you to another time period and in this case throws in romance and a case of amnesia. The situations that occur are at times humorous and at others touching. The story is written in such a way that I found myself feeling like I was right there with the characters. There are secondary characters that have their part to play in the story and I enjoyed reading about them as well. Don’t miss out on a book that will have you swept up in another time and place. I didn’t want to put it down until the final page. I would highly recommend reading it.

The Abduction of Sarah Tarbell: As Her Soul RemembersThe Abduction of Sarah Tarbell: As Her Soul Remembers by Stuart Ledwith
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story was a tough one for me to read, because of all the emotions I had while reading. This is a story about Sarah and her abduction. Sarah tells a tail of her life. I do not think I could ever fall in love with someone who took me away from my family. Stuart Ledwith did an amazing job with his character building. I felt like I was Sarah Tarbell by the end of the story. The picture he painted, especially with his attention to detail was a vivid one. Can someone who is abducted ever feel safe? Can they feel love? Do they miss their family? I highly recommend this emotional roller coaster ride of a book. Make sure you have a kleenex box and comfy blanket because you may not be able to put the book down.

The Trouble with Paradise (Madeline Dawkins #4)The Trouble with Paradise by Cynthia Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Trouble With Paradise is the 4th book in the Madeline Dawkins Mystery series by Cynthia Hamilton. Each book can be read as a standalone but in my opinion I think you’d get more from the series if you read it all from the beginning and in order. This is a fantastic mystery series that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
As much as I loved the first book in this series, I think it gets better and better as it goes on and we get to spend more time in the company of Madeline Dawkins and her partner Mike Delaney. Just reading the blurb, I was already hooked and that was before I even started reading – Two dead husbands – Accident, Suicide or Murder?
Yet again Cynthia Hamilton had written an intricate storyline with so many twists and turns that you can’t put this book down. I absolutely loved this book. The two cases that Madeline and Mike are working on are full of mystery, danger and intrigue and are highly entertaining. I was totally absorbed by both cases and couldn’t wait to see how they unravelled.
Madeline and Mike are both amazing characters. I could read their exploits for hours on end. I can’t wait to read more in this series.

Logan makes it her mission to prove that Thomas is not guilty but when Thomas doesn’t want to help himself it makes it hard. Center of Gravity (Ice Tigers #2)Center of Gravity by Isabella Cassazza
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Who doesn’t love a romance novel involving Hockey! Center of Gravity is a standalone friends-to-lovers sports romance (An Ice Tigers Hockey Romance Book 2) written by the awesome Isabella Cassazza. In this story we meet Matt who just got acquired by the Ice Tigers. Matt is a cynic when it comes to women. He firmly believes that they don’t do anything but disappoint you. Now, we also have Emelia, who tries really hard to make everyone proud. But for some reason it just doesn’t seem to work all the time. Emelia is an Italian heiress who is sent to Boston to run her family’s newly acquired hockey team. But things decided to turn for both Matt and Emelia. This book has a lot of twists and surprises that you don’t see coming. The characters are wonderful and interact well with each other. I loved this book and can’t wait to read the others. This is one of those books that suck you in in the beginning and you cannot put it down. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves sports, especially hockey and of course romance.

Center of Gravity ( An Ice Tigers Hockey Romance Book 2) by Isabelle Cassazza – Review by Heather Bass

Center of Gravity (Ice Tigers #2)Center of Gravity by Isabella Cassazza
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read a couple of books from this author but she keeps on surprising me. I love a good friends to lovers story but this author exceeded all my expectations. This the second book to the Ice Tigers hockey romance. You can read this book as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I could not put this book down until the end. It only took me a full day to devour this amazing story.

Emilia’s life looks perfect but deep down it is far from it. She is the granddaughter to the Ravelli family. Emilia gets out to clear her head and she runs into a very handsome stranger. She ends up going way too far and now her life is going to change. Emilia is sent to Boston to manage The Ice Tigers and she is in complete shock that her handsome stranger is now her employee. She has a huge secret to tell him but will it ruin them both? Will Emilia find the love that she has wanted since she was a little girl or will she end up alone?
