Can Dreams Come True? is the first book in The Cecily Taylor series by Krysten Lindsay Hager. It is a cute, sweet, YA, coming of age story- about friendship, crushes, first love, teenage angst, jealousy, and following your dreams. This is my first read from Ms. Hager, so I was interested to see what this was all about.
It is definitely a YA story- as it is quite sweet and a little ‘fluffy’. As I have grown older, I have found that I like my stories a little ‘meatier’- but still enjoy exploring YA stories as they are usually fairly light and easy to read and make great ‘palate cleansers’. This is definitely the case here- a lovely story with just enough angst and drama to keep things interesting and well suited for the younger reader.
I am interested to see what happens in the next instalment- following Cecily and Andrew on to the next stage of their relationship with “In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety”(Book #2).
