Flame & Crystal Thorns is the first book in the Fae and Crystal Thorns series by Kay L. Moody. This is an exciting spin off from her ‘Fae of Bitter Thorn’ series, as we follow Chloe, who is Elora’s (from FoBT series) sister.
Chloe is a healer in the mortal world, and is happy to stay as far away as she can from the world of the fae. She loves her sister, but doesn’t feel as adventurous as her sister, and Chloe definitely prefers her simple life as an apothecary. But when she discovers that humans are threatening the fae realms by using iron to hold the magical kingdoms hostage, Chloe (somewhat reluctantly) sets off to try to help. And so the adventure begins.
This is a fabulous YA fantasy adventure, with danger, humans/fae, magic, a journey of discovery/self-discovery, romance, action, trials, and more. It ends on a cliffhanger, which means waiting for the next book to pick up where we’ve left off. This book sets the series off to a great start and I am excited to continue the adventure in “Shadow & Crystal Thorns” (Book #2), to find out what happens next.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Kay L. Moody!
