This book is unique because it features a nonbinary main character in one of its amazing dual story arcs. I like the way the author was sensitive with her nonbinary character. The other story arc features a group of teen students who find themselves transported to another place or time. The nonbinary character grapples with sudden responsibility that follows in the wake of abducted parents. The teens must figure out what they need to learn, in order to cope with their new reality.

I have read numerous books written by the author and absolutely loved every one of them. and this book did not disappoint. im a big fan of urban fantasy and love reading others take of their view on what the fantasy world is like. A black mist descends onto earth, and with it brought monsters, that no one wants to have to deal with. Zoe who is a strong female lead in this book, she and her family fight to rid the world of these threats of monsters and the mist that brought them to life. But as she’s doing so, she finds herself in a situation that she now is questioning what she was taught and told of these monsters. This book is filled with action, adventure, witches, magic, drama, paranormal, extraordinary characters and thrill. I could not put this book down till I was done. It was super easy to follow along, and a must read.

I really enjoyed this story. It is a moving story about a young princess who is always selfish and how she changes by the experiences she has. The author does an amazing job of creating this story and our princess. Princess Zarina is very head strong and as the youngest child she is used to getting things her own way but this isn’t a good thing as she has grown up to become selfish, only concerned about herself. When she get a dress made for a ball being held in her honour, the dress isn’t all that it seems. It’s magical and the stories it unravels will teach this princess that by helping and thinking of others it will make her a better person. What happens once she is in the dress turns into an adventure as she matures and finds herself. There is danger, loss, unexpected reunions and a snake in the grass determined to destroy the Kingdom.

This book is a brilliant introduction to the fantasy world for any young adult readers. It was a well written and accessible story, that really draws you in and keeps you hooked until the end. The main character was such as strong and interesting one to read about. The story fit around her and you definitely wanted to know more. This is an entirely new author to me and I enjoyed getting to learn about their writing style. The pace of the book was well though out and fit with the story that was being told. As the first book to read I think this was perfect. I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

I truly enjoyed every second of this book. It took a sensitive historical topic and handled it wonderfully. I loved the characters so very much. Minnie Locke is a member of one of the members of one of the wealthiest families of Clear Creek. She is also very progressive as is evidenced by her best friend (and her support of her best friend). Her best friend is Greta Fay. Greta Fay is absolutely unafraid to fight for equality. Christopher is a farmer who is living in poverty. He has met Minnie and Minnie has fallen in love with him. They are engaged to be married, despite the fact that Minnie parents are completely against it. Minnie loves him and doesn’t care about how much money he has in comparison to hers. One day, Christopher meets Greta Fay and falls in love but gives her an alias – Cal. Will Minnie and Greta Fay find out they are in love with the same man? Who will get Christopher in the end? Will Greta Fay continue to stand up for what she believes in? There were so many twists in this book that I found it hard to put down. I definitely loved it and completely recommend it!

Caspian and Grandpa are back in the Empty Box part of the Invisible Magic Wand series. Grandpa gives Caspian what appears to be an empty box for his Unbirthday but it contains so much more, a magic wand. The illustrations by Nicolas Milano are bright and colourful and make the story come alive. The story is age appropriate for children between 3 – 8 years. The storyline is creative and interesting. Time travel is possible for Caspian thanks to his Grandpa and he can’t wait to get started. An original and entertaining picture book story that kids love. Follow along on this new adventure for Caspian as he learns what his magic wand can do.
A Dress To Remember is a children’s fairy-tale but a fairy-tale with a smidge of darkness to it. K.L. is an award-winning writer and this is her debut novel. There are fairies, magic, castles, witches and a princess dress that is more than it seems. Oh, and let’s not forget the spoiled princess who has a lot to learn when trying to save them all from the villains. A dress she doesn’t want but just maybe grateful for after all is said and done. The illustrations by Brandon Dorman help with the imagination of the story. This fantasy tale is perfect for young fantasy lovers to curl up to.

I found this book to be a little slow for my liking. I thought it would be a little more fast paced, but I found I lost a little interest in it about halfway. Overall, the writing, the characters, the romance, the plot itself was all well planned out are amazing, but I felt like the book was not what I thought it would be like. It felt like there was too much just stuff thrown in there that didn’t need to be, which made it drag in some spots. I did read this book in one sitting. The ending however did not disappoint, and im happy I stuck with this book till the end. Overall, it wasn’t a bad read, and I would recommend if someone wanted a not so fast paced mafia romance book. But for me I needed something more.

This book was wonderful! I was turning pages like crazy. I think Madame Chalamet will have her hands full with Twyla Andricksson but she will enjoy mentoring her so much. They built quite the relationship in this book. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
This episode of Caspian’s unbirthday is very fun. I love the imagination in these books and the magical unbirthday presents. I think all kids would like to squeeze time to have their cake last longer too. I really enjoy the art in this book as well as the story of the invisible magic wand and look forward to more of Caspian’s unbirthday presents.
Fenimore James leads an idyllic life with his family on the farm but has big dreams of running away in search for adventure. He has read all about the famous outlaws in the newspapers, books, and wanted posters. The life of an outlaw is a glamour job for him so away he runs to find a group of outlaws to get in with and live their wild and lawless lifestyle. First, he must ride away on Messy from his small hometown, so away he goes. Fenimore decides that he needs to change his name as well and becomes Simon Shaw. Shaw buys new clothes and finds a meal. He quietly asks around as to where the Red Evans gang can be found so as “not to run into them” but reality is that is exactly who he is looking for! The life of an outlaw is not all the glamour that he thought it would be as one by one, gang members are being killed and clues left on their bodies. On top of that bit of stress, Simon is having feelings that he cannot understand for a fellow gang member, another male and not the typical floozie that he would engage in sex with. What is going on? He is haunted by dreams of a man in black and now his boss or gang leader is starting to suspect one of their own of killing! Will this end and will Fenimore return home? Great cast of characters and the setting is done very well. I can picture myself in some of these old western towns decrepit or rich and even find myself a bit saddle sore after reading about their time in the saddle. Great book!! It was a bit on the long side but definitely worth the time to read!

An enjoyable, emotional and engaging read which kept me happily turning the pages until late at night. Although book four in a series it can be read as a standalone story, as each book focuses on one of the naughty but nice Pierce brothers. Having read and loved the previous stories, I was looking forward to this instalment and was not disappointed. Amy takes a live in nanny job but forgets the first rule of being a nanny, don’t fall for your boss! Confirmed bachelor Noah Pierce prefers numbers to people, but when one of his close friends dies unexpectedly his life changes. His friend has left Noah sole guardianship of her baby girl, Amelia, and so Noah takes on Amy as a nanny. Amy sees Noah as the brooding silent type, but whilst Noah seems determined to find Amelia’s dad, Amy thinks Noah can do a great job as her guardian. Amy definitely didn’t expect to fall for her boss, anymore than Noah planned on falling for the nanny, after all they both stand to lose if their relationship crosses the line from professional to personal. As usual I fell in love with the characters who are likeable and relatable. The chemistry between Amy and Noah really came across in the narrative. The emotional storyline had me hooked throughout, and was a good mix of romance, humour and emotions. A heartwarming story which I definitely recommend.

This book had everything one would expect from a dark mafia crime novel; deceit, revenge, lust, passion, and betrayal. Stefano was cold, calculating and showed no remorse in anything he did throughout his career as a crime boss. Viviana was once what someone might consider to be quiet and mousy but when tragedy struck it changed her. The only thing that she could think of was exacting revenge on those responsible for the murder of her best friend. The trauma she suffered turned her into someone else and she learned to shut off her feelings until Nazario resurfaced in her life. He was the son of the man responsible for her friend’s death and although she hates him she is consumed by desire for him. Nazario feels equally attracted to Viviana and knows what her true intentions are towards his father but it does not deter him from pursuing his feelings for Viviana. The attraction is undeniable and the two of them share some passionate and steamy moments.

An unusual trilogy of a mystical dystopian, near-future storyline where the characters shapeshift in and out of reality. This is a very interesting read that discusses the topic of climate change with a touch of magical realism. I like that all three novellas are in one package because once you finish one, you will want to start the next. Koerber has such a way with words that she holds your interested til the end. There is such a flow to this story and you really connect with the characters.

This is a good read with strong, independent main characters. Rae is a world traveler who is lucky enough to make a living enjoying new places. Rae is invited to write about an architectural dream home which happens to belong to Dean, a business savvy man who lives to work. Although these two have a snappy beginning, fate and good timing force these two back together to allow their undeniable chemistry to ignite. Rae is a strong-willed woman with a fierce personality. She didn’t have a grounded family so made her family out of friends, the friends Dean cannot seem to wrap his head around as being just friends. Deans jealousy was obnoxious at times but overall cute story.

I found this a fantasy that young middle schoolers would like. Princess Zarina requested a dress for her birthday gala and as the old saying goes “be careful what you wish for.” She gets the adventure of her life. There’s drama and adventure along with witches and all the other fantasy creatures you can think of. It’s an exciting story that is a quick read. I may get a paperback copy so I can read it to my grandson in the near future. A story worth reading.

Written by a new author to me I was not sure what to expect when I picked this book up to read. Let me just say that I was not disappointed. This is an enchanting story about a magical dress that the princess receives and if it will help her to save her kingdom. This story was a mixture of Disney’s Cinderella and Brave. I love that the main character is an extraordinarily strong willed and determined princess and will stop at nothing to save her kingdom. I thought that the author did a fantastic job keeping me interested and intrigued with this book. She has developed such a detailed and imaginable world in this book that I could picture it perfectly. I was rooting for the hero throughout this book, and I was not disappointed. Highly recommended young adult story.

This is the second book in this series and is just as great as the first one if not better. I highly suggest reading the previous book in this series as well to help your enhancement of this author and her characters. I found this book to be well developed with characters that bring the story to life. They are connectable and add so much to the story. They bring suspense and twists and turns to a new level. A story of a recovery mission to save a father and a daughter determined to save him. A story that is full of action and determination. A fast paced, hard to put down story that you don’t want to miss. There is great growth of the plot throughout the story which makes it easy to read. I highly recommend this book.

They are full of romance that makes her stories hard to put down. This book is no different. This is a well written story about choosing between what your heart desires or becoming rich. You don’t want to miss what happens and what choice is made. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world from the start. They kept me engaged throughout the story. They are well developed and have great chemistry. This is an easy story to read as well as entertaining. A fast paced, hard to put down story that I highly recommend this book and this author.

This book was twisted and a definite thriller. There was so many unexpected turns. As story builds over the time with a variety of suspenseful twists, we see Sam go through so much as she tries to make her was as an actress. It was definitely an emotionally intense read. This was my first time ever hearing of or reading anything by this author and I was blown away. Definitely worth the read if you love psychological thrillers.

This was a great read with surprising characters that were developed well throughout the story. Even with an alpha male lead, Rae (the female lead) was definitely not a weak, helpless character. A mountain in the air is a refreshing trilogy. This intertwined set of stories are heavily built in fantasy and cause your mind to think and reflect on many abstract concepts of life and death. While reading I found myself doing just that and this enhanced the reading experience. The shape shifting main character in the book has a myriad of adventures in this future world. The way that the author portrays animals and the idea of survival in this dystopian world is very thought provoking. If this is your genre you will enjoy this read.

(Formerly Invisible Magic Wand) Every year, on his Unbirthday, Grandpa gives Caspian a silly gift. Something that would not be appropriate for his Birthday. This year, he receives an Invisible Magic Wand, which enables him to control time. He can speed time up to get places faster. He can slow time down to enjoy his favorite foods longer.
Lois is a former high school chemistry teacher and former head science teacher at Science in the City Summer Camp in Philadelphia. She has also been an adjunct science teacher at University of South Florida. Since retiring, she continues to take science classes. Her class in Forensic Biology led to Little Red, The Detective, in which Red is studying fingerprint identification, so she can tell that “Grandma” isn’t who she says she is.
Lois has taken so many science classes that she believes science is the solution to almost every problem, including the dilemmas in fairy tales. She has invented what she calls Science Folktales. In each science-based tale, the protagonist achieves a better ending than the original because of learning scientific principles. She has turned some of these tales into plays.
She has also created a series of Mermaid Science stories, which make use of water science.
Lois is married to the love of her life. She has two children, four grandchildren and a dog.
