Someone to Watch Over Me is the third book in the Wounded Hearts series by Debbie Cromack. I have to be honest here, this book was a bit of a bitter-sweet read for me knowing that this was the last book in the series, but also needing more of Ms. Cromack’s slow-burn, angsty, and emotional deliciousness that I have become addicted to. Before diving into this story, I highly suggest reading the previous two books before starting on this one, as not only are they fantastic books in their own right, but I discovered that there is a lovely connection between the first two books and this third instalment. As expected, this is such a wonderfully angsty and emotional read that tugged on my heartstrings in a major way. Ms. Cromack simmers her plot so beautifully, cooking up a slow burning, but sexy read. She doesn’t shy away from some tougher topics, which adds to the emotional punch of her story. Angelo and Lucia have been the best of friends since childhood so there is already love and connection between them, but they’d never crossed the ‘friendship’ line. But fate might just have a different plan in mind- throwing these two out of their comfort zone. What happens made for an entirely memorable read. Finding out that Angelo is Nicco and Destiny’s son (from Someone Exactly Like Me- Book #1) and Lucia is Candi and Enzo’s daughter (from Kiss Away Your Pain Book #2) was like getting extra icing on the cake for me. I was so excited to see that Ms. Cromack has a new series in the works- and I am itching to get my hands on her Broken Billionaire series! Bring on Book One- I can’t wait!!! Happy Reading!

“Fear is the name of his game…” Stalked By the Devil is the second book in the To Kiss A Stalker series by Stacy Deanne. This is a gripping story with intrigue, drama, mystery, BWWM, angst, obsession, stalking, tension, and danger. This is the second book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone, but having said that, I am interested to see what might have happened in the first book, so. I will be going back to explore it and find out what it was all about. The story was quite gripping and a little dark and intense at times, with a bit of a ‘mystery’ to unravel. I enjoyed to dramatic developments- and the tension that Stacy-Deanne injected into her story. Looking forward to exploring more of Stacy Deanne’s books…

Huff…Puff…Grind! The 3 Little Pigs Get Smart is the second in the Science Folktales series by Lois Wickstrom. It is a cute Illustrated children’s fantasy story- a reimagining of the classic fairytale, The Three Little Pigs, with a bit of a twist. The story encourages problem solving, kindness, negotiation, bargaining, and more… But again, I really didn’t like the style of illustrations inside the storybook. I really hoped that the internal quality of the illustrations would match the quality of the ‘new’ cover picture- but the internal illustrations are in a very naïve/simplistic style, which just seemed a bit ‘bland’ to me. The illustrations don’t hold your attention like the cover image does, and I felt let down because of it.

Living With Conviction by Toby Dorr is a fascinating and powerful true crime memoir- an account of how the author came to help a convicted murderer escape from prison, and then end up on the run for nearly two weeks. It also tells of her capture, and time in incarceration, her experience ‘inside’, her relationship with fellow inmates, and so much more. This is an honest, enlightening, and intriguing tale of risk, danger, drama, choices, consequence, challenges, emotion, resilience, strength, self-discovery, heart break, sisterhood, friendship, healing, redemption, transformation, and hope. Life inside bars isn’t what any of us who have never been there can truly understand- it isn’t what we see portrayed on television, or in movies. Toby Dorr goes from being outside ‘the system’, to very quickly ‘inside’. She gives us a raw and honest account of her time in incarceration- and how she ended up there- and how she, and her life has irrevocably changed since. Compelling! Happy Reading…

Earl of Griffith is the sixth book in the Once Upon a Widow series by Aubrey Wynne. I have read quite a few of Ms. Wynn’s books now and can always count on her for an enthralling read. She has a flair for regency and historical romance – weaving stories packed full of authenticity, historical detailing, and engaging characters. I have really enjoyed diving into her books and following along for all the adventures, angst, and swoony details- so when I saw this had released, I didn’t hesitate to let my one-click finger do its thing. This is a delightful historical romance (set in the early 1800’s), with a ‘clean’ storyline (having only a few ‘passionate’ kisses), secrets, heartache, pain, insecurities, doubts, drama, angst, a little humour, banter, second chances, friends to lovers, slow-burn, emotion, and finding love unexpectedly. I really did enjoy this story but then was so torn when it came to rating it. On one hand it is a really sweet and lovely story about taking a chance on love/ having a second chance at love. The characters were well developed and endearing, and the addition of a cute three-year-old who added extra charm with her adorableness and antics, really gave this story an extra element of sweetness. But there really wasn’t too much to ‘sink my teeth into’. Yes, there was a little drama at the beginning which sent out heroine packing back to England and the safety of her family estate. And there was the angsty drama from her insecurities which added a bit of push-pull tension to the whole thing. But overall, I felt that this was just “sweet”- and at times, maybe just a tad on the saccharine side. I think this book would have been even better with a little more danger, drama, and spice. It also would have been better a s a complete standalone without trying to ‘tie’ it into an established series. Helen is Gideon’s younger sister – we met Gideon in his story Rhapsody and Rebellion (Enduring Legacy Book #7) – and Conway (our MC here) is Gideon’s business associate and friend. Conway is also the brother of Madoc from the previous book in this series- Earl of Brecken (Once Upon A Widow Book #5). There were mentions of other characters from other books/series too- but honestly, a lot of that felt like it was thrown into the story to try and force this book into the series by making ‘connections’ to other established characters. I felt that this book has a completely different feel, so while it is a very charming and enjoyable story- I just felt like it didn’t quite live up to my expectations, as an addition to this series. I hope that makes sense. But, I am looking forward to reading more of Ms. Wynne’s books, as well as continuing this series. Happy Reading…

Bound by the Hinterlands by Bree M. Lewandowski is a wonderfully woven fantasy that had me invested right from the get-go. This isn’t the first book that I have read by Ms. Lewandowski, but it is probably my favourite (so far). Her books just seem to get better with each new release- and this book had all the ingredients I love to find in a captivating fantasy. From drama, family dynamics, mystery, danger, tension, suspense, action, adventure, agendas, plots, bonds, banter, duty + responsibility, an arranged marriage, forced proximity, emotion, romance, and finding love unexpectedly. I love Ms. Lewandowski’s vivid world-building, her attention to detail and wonderful descriptions really brought her world, and story, to life. From the clothing, to customs, and even the language and phrasing (which at first seemed a little formal and ‘old fashioned’, but actually helped build the atmosphere/feel of the story)- all the components blended together to make this quite an immersive read. After a lifetime of her father’s controlling, cold, and callous ways Cressida yearns to make her own way in life, and fate finally seems to be on her side. With her father’s failing health, his time is limited, and Cressida can finally see her ‘freedom’- it’s almost within her reach. But, even with death knocking on the door, her father still manages to put a rather large wrench in her plans by arranging (forcing) her marriage to Caravahl Alzeid, Baron of the Hinterlands. And so, her adventure begins. Add some darker tones, a little mysteriousness, sinister intent, drama, discovery, secrets, and danger- and the story takes an even more intriguing turn. Underneath The Whiskey by Chelsea Lauren is the first book that I have read by her. It proved to be an interesting New Adult story- an MM romance packed full of emotion, angst, and drama. The story contains some sensitive topics that may be triggering for some readers- subjects such as alcohol abuse/addiction, suicidal thoughts, violence, past conversion therapy + electroshock therapy, mental illness, struggles, challenges, and sexual abuse – so if have issues with any of these topics, then this is probably not the book for you. I may not have ‘liked’ the behaviour of our MC/s at times, but I understood why they were like that, and I really felt for them and everything they had been through. Having endured what they did, but then living a lie, to deny who they truly are, and then basically forced to live a double life and not being true to themselves- I can fully understand the mental anguish and toll that took on their emotional and mental health, and their downward spiral. So, if you were expecting a light, fluffy, boy meets boy and the birds start singing type story, then you are going to be disappointed- because this is raw, gritty, angsty, thought-provoking, and confronting —— but it is also much more. Now I am off to see what else I can find of Ms. Lauren’s to explore.

Hope and Lies is the first book in the Abredea series by C.H. Lyn. This is the first book that I have read by this author, and after reading this I am so glad to have stumbled on her book because she brings something a little different to the table. This gave me some ‘Hunger Games’ vibes- but with its own unique ‘identity’ and feel. It is a dystopian fantasy with superb world building, a caste system, abilities, a post-apocalyptic setting, rebellion, a battle for equality and justice, secrets, revenge, agendas, action, adventure, drama, danger, self-discovery, family, friendship, politics, corruption, grief, loss, heartache, betrayal, emotion, and hope. The story is told from several points of view, which gave the story greater depth and interest for me- the pov’s give us a much broader perspective so we can fully appreciate what is going on. It’s a complex and multi-layered story that weaves multiple threads and timelines into one engrossing read. Twisted Proposal is the third book in the Central Florida Stories series by Victoria Saccenti. This is a contemporary romantic suspense with drama, danger, tension, angst, emotion, agendas, BDSM, Dom/Sub, secrets, and revenge. Victoria Saccenti has crafted fully realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. Both our MC’s have their own baggage and challenges, which added extra angst, tension, emotion, and interest to the whole story. What Do Plants Say? is the first book in Alex, the Inventor series by Lois Wickstrom. This is an illustrated children’s story that includes some science on sound waves. Alex is an inventor and likes to make useful things out of unused and ‘old’ items. In this story we follow along as she brainstorms ideas for inventing a plant translator so she can listen and talk to her plants. While the story was interesting, and the pictures were on-point, I was left feeling a little disappointed and conflicted, because I love gardening and I would have been heart-broken if my child/grandchild had destroyed my garden by up-rooting as many plants as Alex did in her ‘adventure’.

Seen by Lori Nelson is the first book that I have read by this author, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her stories. But the cover intrigued me, and then the blurb sealed the deal, promising an original sci-fi adventure I could really sink my teeth into. So, I let my one-click finger loose and dove right in as soon as it hit my Kindle. What I found was a raw and gritty dystopian adventure with plenty of mystery, sci-fi elements, intriguing cybernetics, action, violence, murder, gory details, bloody brutality, futuristic technology & setting, politics, plots, agendas, greed, investigation, suspense, family, friendship, kidnapping, torture, a frontier-like justice system, emotion, drama, danger, betrayal, and much more. The author did a fantastic job crafting a vividly detailed world in which to set her story. Her descriptions, originality, and other clever touches brought the story to life right before my eyes. I could see this making a great movie, or mini-TV series. Mouse Mouzer isn’t your typical (almost) sixteen-year-old. She has ambitions to become a hard-hitting journalist just like her mentor. So, to accomplish that she’s on the hunt for a career-making story that will ignite her dreams. Going out with her crow shaped drone, Gossip, Mouse scours the dark alleys and violent hot spots for anything that she could use in a hard-hitting expose. The adventure begins when Mouse captures more than she bargained for with her drone camera. But to use the footage would bring life-changing consequences for her entire family, destroying her beloved family unit- so she is torn with what to do. Things soon take a dangerous turn, and Mouse finds herself in a deadly game of cat and mouse. What happens makes for a gripping read. There is more going on than first meets the eye that adds an extra element of suspense to the whole story. Ms. Nelson doesn’t let off the intensity accelerator the entire time- making for an adrenaline-fuelled read. The hits just kept coming, really putting her character/s (and me) through the wringer- I was exhausted and completely emotionally drained just reading everything they went through. I felt like I was right there, going through the wringer with them. I was completely invested in them and the outcome of the story- and couldn’t put the book down for a minute just in case I missed something. The characters were all really well-developed individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. I enjoyed watching them develop and grow over the course of the story as they handled all the challenges that came their way. There were the endearing characters that I loved, but there were an awful lot of horrid characters, who I detested and really wanted to see get their ‘karma’. Some did, but others, like Timothy and co, didn’t get their ‘just-desserts’!! There were also some developments that broke my heart that I really can’t get into here without giving away spoilers- but suffice to say that I was yelling at my Kindle, cursing at the author (sorry-not sorry, Ms Nelson) for doing what she did. She knows what she did!!! She toyed with my heart and made me cry!!! I loved the story, and how original and gritty it was- but there are some sensitive topics that occur throughout the story- so if you have any triggers you might want to keep this in mind- subjects such as abuse, graphic violence, gore, murder, emotional abuse, manipulation, assault, attempted rape, betrayal (and more). So, if I loved the story, then why 4 stars instead of 5- well, I was really torn by what I should rate this, but ultimately even though the book had a gripping storyline and great characters, some of the dialogue didn’t feel quite authentic, and there were a few (minor) editing issues (but not enough to really detract from my over-all enjoyment of the story)- but my main issue was that I was left with a slew of unanswered questions and a loose threads. I am hoping that means that there will be another adventure coming with Mouse, Meph, and co- that might bring the answers I am looking for. I will have to wait and see (hint, hint Ms. Nelson 😊)… I will definitely be going on a one-click spree to snap up any of Ms. Nelson’s other works to explore in the meantime. Happy Reading…

Helpful Hudson by Dannielle Pickford is a delightful read- an illustrated children’s storybook with cute, colourful, and interesting pictures to accompany the sweet story. Hudson is quite a helpful little fellow- but through the course of the story he learns the importance of self-care because sometimes we are so busy taking care of or helping others that we forget to take care of or help ourselves. This cute story teaches great life lessons with lovely, engaging pictures that help convey the messages contained here. Children are introduced to some social and emotional skills- tools that can empower them and help them throughout their life’s journey. This book is aimed at 3 – 7 year-old children. Happy Reading…

The Boys of Alpha Block is the first book that I have read by Nancy Nau Sullivan, but if this is anything to go by, it certainly won’t be the last. This is a suspenseful women’s fiction story that is set in a juvenile detention centre where a group of neglected and abused boys plan their escape. The story really tugged at my heartstrings, as I really felt for what the boys had experienced and what they were (still) going through. The story is quite suspenseful and had me flipping the pages, avidly reading well into the early hours, just so I could find out how everything played out. It also contains sensitive subjects that may be triggers for some readers. This isn’t a ‘light and fluffy’ read. What the boys have been through, and experience while in detention was heart-wrenching. Neglect. Manipulation. Abuse. Assault. Humiliation. Violence. Yes, there were some gritty, raw, and emotional moments. But there was also connection, bonds, friendship, hope, and strength of character-adding light to the story, which helped to balance those dark elements. Well worth the read.

Editor Kill Fee is the third instalment in the Taylor Browning Cozy Mystery series by G.G. Collins. Even though this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone, which is what I did, as each book holds its own self-contained mystery. But, having said that, this book piqued my curiosity as to what may have happened previously, and what mysteries Taylor has had to unravel in the prior two book… so I will definitely be going back to investigate them in the coming week. This mystery brings plenty of intrigue and drama as Taylor sets out to find the missing president of the Santa Fe Wine and Crime book club, who has disappeared on her way to a meeting and is thought to have maybe taken a wrong turn onto a deadly stretch of road. But things take an unexpected turn and Taylor finds herself in a dangerous undercover investigation with challenges, threats, and a tense race against time- while getting an inside perspective into the volatile chili culture. Add a couple of feline companions, publishing company drama, tension, and suspense- and we have an engrossing little mystery. Looking forward to investigating the rest of this series. Happy Reading…

Ways to Improve Bailey by Cori Cooper was such a fun book to read. I have loved Cori Coopers other books that I’ve read, so I happily clicked a copy of this as soon as it released and dove right in. It is a light, sweet, fun, and fresh YA romantic comedy with humour, emotion, teen angst & drama, a slow-burn clean romance, self-discovery/self-acceptance, friendship, family, hopes, fears, entertaining developments, becoming more self-aware, and not judging a book by its cover. This story certainly took me by surprise, in a great way and has just taken top place as my favourite of Ms. Cooper’s work. As expected, this is a cleverly woven story that proved to be a very fun way to spend a couple of hours. I love Ms. Cooper’s ability to create wonderfully quirky and endearing characters- as they are so easy to connect with. I also enjoyed seeing Bailey grow/mature and develop over the course of the story. I though the list of ‘ways to improve Bailey’ was such a fun notion- and it certainly added to the entertainment. Trapping the Butterfly is the first book in the Butterflies Fly Free series by Debra Parmley. It is an historical romance- set in the 1920’s, it’s a fascinating coming of age story, with self-discovery, drama, angst, adventure, challenges, family dynamics, control, choices, and breaking free. Bethany Robinson is just coming of age. Her life has been strictly controlled by her domineering Aunt and Uncle, but a visit to Hot Springs might just see her emerge from her cocoon and find her wings. This is a short story- so it made for a quick and easy read. I read it in one easy sitting. Ms. Parmley has brought the 1920’s to life here, her historical details adding a very vivid and authentic feel to the story. Looking forward to exploring Book #2- ‘Dancing Butterfly’, which is Suki’s story. Happy Reading!

Twisted Bond by Danielle Jacks just became my favourite read of her. It is a fantastic paranormal romance with witches, shifters, curses, adventure, chemistry, steam, drama, danger, family, responsibility, secrets, finding love unexpectedly, and so much more. I loved the fairytale feel of this story and the connection between Rose and Titan. Circumstances may have thrown these two together, and there may have been a bit of an enemies-to-lovers start to this romance- but there were sparks and sizzle galore. Brutal Days is the third book in the Hidden Valley Elite series by Isla Vaughn. It is a New Adult (High School) romance, with a bit of an enemies-to-lovers element, angst, drama, secrets, lies, jealousy, friendship, intrigue, emotion, and much more. The ‘Elites’ are the top of the food chain at Hidden Valley Elite high school. They are brothers Damon and Cole, and their cousins, twin brothers Phoenix and Shane. They are the football stars of school, and every girls dream- and they know it. The final year of high school means that plans are afoot- bucket lists are made, and Skylar has an important quest that she has been tasked with. But Damon has an agenda of his own. Soon, sparks fly, and things heat up- and you guessed it- things take an intriguing turn that you won’t want to miss. Damon and Skylar’s story is set to continue in the next instalment- “Brutal Nights” (Book #4). So I can’t wait to see where we go from here. I am also excited to know that each of the elites are set to get their own book/s as well, so we will have more books to sink our teeth into. This is the third book in the series, but the first book in Damon and Skylar’s story, so it could be read as a standalone if you wanted. But, having said that, I highly recommend reading the previous three books (prequel, Book #1, Book #2) before starting on this one as I feel that knowing what happened there will enhance your reading experience of this story. The previous books help lay the foundations of the series, as well as giving character introductions, and other ‘groundwork’ which knowing will definitely help elevate your reading experience of each instalment, as well as the Hidden Valley Elite series, as a whole. Breathless Love is the third book in the wonderful ‘The Bennetts of Langston Falls’ Series by romance supremo, K.G Fletcher#lovealwayswins. I know I have said this dozens of times now, but I can’t help that Ms. Fletcher keeps outdoing herself with each new book she releases- but I LOVE this story- I think it might be one of her best yet. She had me swooning while all the emotion strummed at my heart strings. This is another example of why Ms. Fletcher is on my automatic one-click, no questions asked author list- because I don’t even need to see a cover, or read a blurb, to know that I’m going to love every minute between her covers. The Bennet’s of Langston Falls is a really fantastic series, each member of the family getting their own book, and each capturing my heart along the way. The books could be read as standalones, but I highly recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one, as they are all superb stories in their own right, and they will all make you feel like you want to stay in Langston Falls and have a Christmas tree farm, listen to music, and hang out with good friends. Hank Bennett dreams of making it big in the country music scene. But achieving them hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing. A chance encounter and an instant connection later, and Hank finds himself tagging along on the concert tour of country music royalty, with a fascinating and talented woman by his side. So all aboard the bus, strap yourself in, and get set for an exciting tour- because things are certainly set to take a captivating turn. Like I said, this might just be one of K.G fletcher’s best books, and series, yet. I am so smitten with the Bennett’s, and each instalment in their series has made my heart go pitter-patter and given me all the ‘feels’ along the way. It’s a wonderful, contemporary romance with plenty of emotion, music, chemistry, sizzle, forced-proximity, family, finding love unexpectedly, and much more. Can’t wait for ‘Reckless Love’ (Book #4)- which is Becky Bennett’s story!

Secrets of the Sorcery War is the second instalment in the Raurnon Trilogy by Elise Carlson. This continues the adventure we started in Book One, so I highly recommend reading the previous book before starting on this one as the first book contains important information, character introductions, backstory, and other relevant details that you really should know in order to fully appreciate this second instalment. This is a YA LGBTQ+ action-adventure fantasy with a non-binary MC, challenges, drama, secrets, magic, a quest, and high stakes. Ruarnon (and co) are about to be challenged like never before as they face off against a formidable foe- the sorcerer king. But things aren’t going to be straight-forward- bit first they will need to find the right allies for the quest. Let the adventure begin. What ensues makes for an interesting read. Although I was a little more ‘settled’ in this story than I was in the first, I still wasn’t as immersed and invested as I would have liked to have been. I still haven’t fully connected with the character/s, which then made it difficult to fully appreciate them and the outcome of their story. The story does lag and drag a bit in parts, and was also quite ‘wordy’ too, which made for some slow-going reading. Again, I found my attention wandering, but not as much as the first book, as I had to keep reminding myself to stay focused on what was happening. There is also a lot of detail, which is great in part, because it helped me to visualize everything- but I felt that there were times that the descriptions were a bit of an over-kill and became more like an info dump. Some elements were over-detailed, and other aspects that I felt were more relevant seemed almost skirted over. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy this book, more than the first, and I’m interested to see how things will play out in ‘Land of the Clouded Sky’, the third and final book in the trilogy- as maybe everything will final ‘fall into place’ for me there. Talks Like Thunder is the first book in the Red With Native Blood Series by Randal Nerhus and Marjorie Carter. This historical fiction story is an emotional and thought-provoking read full of Native American history, culture, and beliefs – with topics such as captivity, tension, pain, dedication, determination, spirit, revenge, family, honor, respect, and much more, this proved to be a raw and emotive read. I really didn’t know what to expect going into this book, but it is so different to what I normally read, I thought I’d change things up a bit by plunging in and meeting Talks Like Thunder. She definitely has a tale to tell- and I am really glad I changed things up by taking a chance on this book. It really was worth the read. I really recommend diving into this powerful, raw and emotive story without knowing too much about it, and let the author/s, the characters, and the story surprise you. I see there are more books in this series, and I will definitely be adding them to my TBR to explore asap. Well worth the read. Happy Reading…

The Hussar’s Duty is the third book in The Winged Warrior series by Griffin Brady. This is an intriguing historical adventure story with drama, action, romance, angst, danger, family, emotion, plots, agendas, duty/responsibility, tension, loyalties, challenges, and more. Jacek is one of the most fearless and dedicated winged warriors, and when his country calls him back to the battlefield he is torn between his honor as a formidable Polish soldier with a duty to his country, and love- his obligation to his family. It seems that no matter what he chooses the price will be high. What happens makes for an intriguing read. I appreciated Griffin Brady’s attention to detail and wonderfully descriptive writing which brought the whole story to life right before my eyes. The historical detailing was on-point and easily captured my attention, pulling me into the story and transporting me to the 17th century where I stayed fully immersed in the developments as the story unfolded. It is apparent that the author has spent a lot of time researching the era and it shows in her attention to detail. Happy Reading!

Lap Baby by Amy Q. Barker is an emotional women’s fiction story, and the first book that I have read by her. The title grabbed my attention as soon as I saw it, and when I read the blurb I became intrigued by the promise of a touching story- so much so that I found myself putting aside the book I had been reading to leap into this emotional tale. I found Ms. Barkers writing to be captivating, warm, and inviting- while also tugging on my heartstrings and giving me all the feels. Her characters are really well-developed with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. The whole ‘lap baby’ aspect of the story added an extra element of interest, and angsty emotion- and proved to be quite thought-provoking as well. We meet Paige, Marie, Terry, and Marie who all survived a horrific plane crash. This tragic event has made a massive impact on each of them, and we follow as they navigate their lives and deal with the issues the crash has caused- such as survivor’s guilt, heartache, trauma, grief, and self-doubts. But this story isn’t doomy and gloomy- it has some real heart-warming and inspirational moments- making this a very memorable read for me. I am definitely looking forward to reading more of Ms. Barkers work in the future. Happy Reading…

Soul Redeemed is the fifth book in the War of Destiny series by Theresa Van Spankeren. As each book in this series builds on what has come previously, I highly recommend reading the first four books before starting on this one, because they all come together to creating a ‘bigger picture’, not to mention they are all great reads, providing hours of entertaining adventure to plunge into. This is an original, clever and intriguing paranormal saga with vampires, action, adventure, high stakes, politics, agendas, atmospheric world building, danger, intrigue, tense developments, violence, and plenty of suspense. I am really enjoying this adventure- and Ms. Van Spankeren raises the stakes here for us, and the characters- bringing even more tension, dramatic developments, and intrigue- in a high-stakes race against time which kept me glued to the pages to find out how everything would play out in the end. Can’t wait to see what Ms. Van Spankeren has in store for us next! Happy Reading!

Fireflies: An Erotic Poly MMF Novel is the third book in The Physical Collection series by A.R. Hadley. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Hadley, so I really wasn’t sure of what I could expect from her storytelling. But the Title and cover intrigued me enough to want to find out. This is a MMF polyamorous relationship story- a bit of a character piece whose characters are portrayed, warts and all. Even though I can see that Ms. Hadley put a lot of time, effort, heart, and soul into developing her characters, I really struggled to connect with Mike and Dane. They frustrated me no end, right from the beginning…… Their 7-year relationship had its ups and downs, but Dane felt like something was missing and wanted to bring a female into their mix and perhaps ‘settle down’ and start a family- if they can find the right woman. And so the ‘adventures begin. The story definitely sizzles off the pages in parts, and the characters play believable parts- but as I mentioned I just couldn’t connect with them and because of that I didn’t invest in them and the outcome of their story the way I would have liked. But perhaps this was just me having an ‘off’ reading day, so don’t let me put you off grabbing a copy and making up your own mind. Happy Reading…

Sleeping Love by Natalina Reis is another interesting paranormal MM romance with shifters, magic, action, adventure, danger, friendship, family, curses, forbidden love, friends-to-lovers, fate, angst, drama, agendas, and high stakes. This had definite Sleeping Beauty vibes with a bit of a twist, as well as Eastern cultural influences, and shifters mingled in. Thes Asian influences definitely added an extra element of interest to the story, for me. This isn’t your ‘regular’ romance, though- but still tugs on the heart strings. Happy Reading…

People Safari by Feather Chelle is a cute and fun illustrated children’s adventure story. Written with plenty of witty humour really made for quite an entertaining read. This is a safari story with a difference though, as it is told/shown from the animal’s perspective as they ‘tour’ a town full of people, and we get to see our way of life in a different light, as the animals observe the humans as they go about their daily lives. This is a fairly long story, but with plenty of bright, colourful, and interesting illustrations sprinkled through the book which really help the story come to life. Join Ranger Marco, the raccoon guide, as he takes the other animals on this fun safari. This is sure to please the children in your life, or the young at heart. Happy Reading…

Japan is the third book in the Tally and the Angel series by Eleanor Dixon. As this story continues the adventure we started in book one, following Tally and her angel Jophiel, I really recommend reading the first two books before starting on this one. We met Tally back in Book One, when she inherited a rather intriguing necklace when her mother died. The necklace came with a life-changing surprise- as it housed an Angel, Jophiel. Together they have embarked on several adventures, all over the world. And in this instalment, we are whisked off to Japan. Where they soon found themselves thrust on another adventure that involves unearthing the origins of an ancient curse. This is a fun Middle school age children’s story- an urban fantasy with Angels, paranormal elements, action, adventure, mysteriousness, history, drama, danger, travel, a race against time, friendship, family, secrets, Japanese culture and traditions, challenges, and much more. This story may be aimed at a younger audience, but I feel it could be enjoyed by all ages. Happy reading.

The Promised Plan by Sharon Hughson takes us on a journey of family, love, loss, grief, a mother’s last wishes, sister relationship/dynamics, reconciliation, hope, drama, angst, and secrets. I recommend having a box of tissues close at hand before you dive into this emotional read. This collection of heartfelt and thought-provoking short stories strummed my emotions all the while pulling me further along on this relatable journey of sisterhood, loss, and final wishes. Well worth the read!
