A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, Book 5) by KG Fletcher – Review by Angelina Frazzini

A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, #5)A Cold Creek Christmas by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Though this is book five, all the books in the series can be read as standalones.

Amber has always hated the holiday season and honestly I can’t say that I blame her. She has. Pretty traumatic past and that really can do a number on you. Giovanni has been through some tough times recently but still brings the magic of the holidays for his daughter. Giovanni invites Amber to spend the holidays with his family. Will things develop between them or will Amber keep to herself?

This was such a good quick read. I was bummed it was over so soon! The characters are great and there’s lots of emotion!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is a great children’s story with great lessons to learn. It is a cute way to teach children perspective and how they can find greatness in their own lives.

After I read through it, I read it with my 8 year old who was willing to give it a chance. Coming from the kid that really doesn’t enjoy reading, that is quite the compliment!

Whatever Tomorrow Brings (Embrace Tomorrow Duet Book 2) by Amy Argent – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Whatever Tomorrow Brings (Embrace Tomorrow #2)Whatever Tomorrow Brings by Amy Argent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book two of the series. You should definitely read book one before diving into this book. Not only did I need to find out how the story was going to go for Will and Tori, I did genuinely enjoy book one and of course wanted to read book two to finish out the story.

This book is well written and packed with so so many emotions. Tori and Will finally get to start their journey together. It goes without saying they have had and still have quite a bit to overcome together. It was hard to put this book down but boy the emotional roller coaster was worth it!

Mom, Is There a Santa Claus? by Susan J Berger Illustrator: KC Snider – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Mom, Is There a Santa Claus?Mom, Is There a Santa Claus? by Susan J. Berger
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My oldest isn’t quite at the “Is Santa real stage”. I want him to believe as long as possible but this book is such a cute way to address the question when it comes. The idea of dream keepers is a very cute way to keep the hope and Christmas spirit alive. The illustrations were great as well!!

I definitely recommend this book for those kids that are approaching the age they may not believe in Santa anymore. This will definitely give them hope.

Broken Chains by Karina Kantas – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Broken ChainsBroken Chains by Karina Kantas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a new author for me and I don’t usually go for the dark mafia type books but I actually enjoyed this one! This book is definitely recommended for readers 18+.

I’m not going to say much about what happens as to not give anything away but talk about intense! This book has everything you could need. There is so much suspense I was on edge just waiting for what would happen next. Keep in mind it’s pretty dark and usually that’s not my thing but it’s a good read.

I enjoyed this authors writing style and the book definitely keeps you guessing. I’m glad I picked this one up!

A Sweet Christmas: A Sweet Confections Novella by Nicole Richards – Review by Angelina Frazzini

A Sweet ChristmasA Sweet Christmas by Nicole Richard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I don’t usually read holiday books or novellas because I get too invested for something so short but I’m so glad I picked this one up. It’s so sweet and light-hearted. This book is a novella so it was a quick read but totally worth it!

Thea doesn’t seem to have the best luck when it comes to guys. Dealing with a recent break up, she doesn’t expect to experience a connection with anyone let alone Benjamin, as he walks into her bakery. Who knew looking for cupcakes could turn into something so sweet!

I really enjoyed these characters. Thea was so sweet! Such a good read!

Unlikely to Fit (Parker Lake) by Olivia Sherwood – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Unlikely to Fit (A Parker Lake Novel Book 2)Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Breckin never saw her life turning out this way. She surely didn’t expect her husband to leave her. She’s not in the market for a new relationship, especially after how hers ended. She just moved back to Parker so she’s not running but staying isn’t as easy as one would think. Her ex husband working for the same high school definitely brings it’s own challenges. Griff knows loss and grief. Having his own pain doesn’t stop him from listening to the troubles of those around him as he runs his grandfather’s bar. These two have been broken and neither one of them have the desire to meet anyone new. Can these two broken hearted mend with each other?

I really enjoyed this book. There are so many emotions. I hurt for Breckin when her husband left her. She didn’t see that coming. She developed well through the story. She was strong and depended on herself when it mattered. Griff knew what it was like to lose someone and eventually opened his mind to exploring something with Breckin. I loved these characters and couldn’t put the book down!

Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer (Curvy Ever After Book 2) by Stephanie Harrell – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer (Curvy Ever After, #2)Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer by Stephanie Harrell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Though this is book two of the series, this book can be read as a standalone. I was hooked from the start. There is a lot of emotion in this book and it’s very well written.

Harper and Lincoln have a lot going for them. The last thing either of them expects is Harper to get there pregnant after a weekend fling. There is a lot they both need to learn about the other. They each have their own demons to face but just maybe they can face them together. Can they fight together instead of against each other for the family they’ve each always wanted?

I really enjoyed this book! I’m going to give book one a chance as well because if it’s half as good as this book, it’s worth it!

LUKE (DEFAULT DISTRACTION #4) by A. S. Roberts – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Luke (Default Distraction #4)Luke by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Luke by A.S. Roberts is book four of the Default Distraction series.

Luke hasn’t had an easy go of it. He often lets that define him. He was abandoned so he doesn’t let anyone close. He made it to the top but that doesn’t mean he’ll stay there. It’s not just him anymore though. He has to provide for his daughter. That’s where Nikki comes in. Nikki will do anything she can to help out her family, even at the expense of herself. She’s in desperate need of a job and that’s when she finds that Luke is looking for a nanny. Of course sparks fly and there is attraction between them but she can’t risk this job. She needs to provide for her family. Will the past be too much to handle or will their attraction turn into more?

I really enjoyed this story as much as the other books in the series. Nikki is a relatable character, always willing to help those she loves. I couldn’t get enough of this book!

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow Duet Book 1) by Amy Argent – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow, #1)Come Back Tomorrow by Amy Argent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Come Back Tomorrow by Amy Argent is book one of the Embrace Tomorrow duet.

Will Everson has terminal cancer. He’s made peace with that. He’s had a number of rounds of chemo all which were unsuccessful. His last decision, a DNR. It gives him the power to choose what happens to him. Tori is a psychologist who works with terminally ill patients. She visits Will on an effort to Matt patients that have no visitors. After meeting Will, she really digs in to understand his decision for the DNR. She thinks Will should have hope that things will get better. Feelings develop between Will and Tori but there is a tough road ahead. What will happen in book two?

While I appreciate that Tori’s feelings for Will are why she encourages him to choose the feeding tube and other measures, I didn’t like that she kind of pushed him to change his mind. Love means you support their decisions. I did enjoy the characters though and the story is heart wrenching. It really pulls you in and makes you hope even when it seems like you shouldn’t. I can’t wait to see what book two has in store.

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour) by Victoria Zak – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour Book One)Rock Me To The Top by Victoria Zak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rick Me to the Top by Victoria Zak is book one of the Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour series. I really enjoyed this book! I couldn’t put it down!

Melody knows what dating a rockstar can do to a relationship. After all, look at what happened to her parents. She’s be out of her mind to willingly do that to herself. If that lifestyle is not for her, why does she find herself agreeing to go on the summer tour with Joe. Yes, he’s her best friend and she’s found herself down on her luck but surely she’s crazy. She never thought she’d start to fall for this fantasy. Joe and Melody have been best friends forever but new feelings come to light while they are touring. Can they survive the rockstar lifestyle or will they be torn apart?

Joe and Melody have a great relationship considering they’ve been best friends. I really like the best friends to lovers angle. Melody is so strong. She’s been through a lot in life and she knows what she wants. Joe is really sweet and protective and together they are great. I really enjoyed these characters as well as their story! I can’t wait to read more!

Tenacious (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 6) by Via Mari – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Tenacious (Billionaire Bodyguards # 6)Tenacious by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tenacious by Via Mari is book six of the Billionaire Bodyguard series. This book can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read any other books in the series but still enjoyed this book. So much so I’m gonna read the rest of the series.

Allie is tough. She’s seen more than most working as an ER nurse and she’s had to condition herself to be numb to it all, which honestly isn’t new to her. Nick is a bodyguard. He is naturally protective and that’s kicked into high gear when he met Allie. No one has ever affected him the way she has. Nick just wants to protect her and get through her defenses.

Allie is so strong and independent which makes her such a great character, even though some of that was forged from past trauma. Nick is so protective but still acknowledges Allie’s need to take care of herself. There was so much emotion and suspense, I couldn’t put this book down!

Wrong for Him (The Love Lottery Series Book 3) by Christi Barth – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Wrong for Him (Love Lottery, #3)Wrong for Him by Christi Barth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wrong for Him by Christi Barth is book three of the Love Lottery series. This book can be read as a standalone but if you want to get the whole feel of the series and meet the other characters, start with book one. I didn’t but will definitely be going back to read the other two books. This book is Amelia and Teague’s story.

Amelia and Teague have history. He is Amelia’s brother’s best friend. Clearly that makes him off limits. Especially since Alex made him a partner in the inn they are restoring. Teague is really appreciative of Amelia’s friendship, especially while he was deployed. Which is another reason crossing the line with her seems like a bad idea. Can they have a secret relationship and not burn Al of their bridges?

I read enjoyed this book! I really like the characters. Teague fought so hard to fight his attraction to Amelia. He wanted to do what he felt was the right thing, even if that meant sacrificing his own happiness. There was so much emotion packed into this book!

Engaño (DeWitt Agency Adventures, #2)Engaño by Lance Charnes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Engaño by Lance Charnes is book two of The Dewitt Agency Adventures. This book has a little bit of everything. There is action, suspense, danger and don’t forget the plot twists.

Carson is fearless and tough. So when she has to pay back loans her father skipped out on, she does what she needs to do. This time she has to track down Viktoriya Baranova, daughter to a Russian cabinet minister, and get her back home. Seems easy on the surface but Carson gets drug in deeper than she expected. She can hold her own but it nothing appears to be as it seems.

I enjoyed this book. Carson is so fierce and independent. All the characters were honestly well developed. I had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next!

Death under Palm Trees (A Jack and Frances mystery Book 4) by Carmen Radtke – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Death under Palm TreesDeath under Palm Trees by Carmen Radtke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Death Under Palm Trees by Carmen Radtke is book four the the Jack and Frances mysteries. This book can be read as a standalone without missing too much.

Jack, Frances and Uncle Sal are in Nice attending a party as the guests of honor. Of course, mystery never sleeps though and they are needed to go undercover. Can they solve the theft issue or will they fail to keep their undercover roles?

It was interesting to watch them go undercover while trying to pretend they don’t know each other. It gave an added layer of suspense, wondering if they would be found out. There is a lot of secrets and suspense throughout the story keeping you on your toes. The characters seemed well developed and you can tell a lot of work went to making everything seem authentic. While not my normal read, it was good!

Forever: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Forever (Diamond Doms #9)Forever by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Forever by Ivy Nelson is book nine of the Diamond Doms series. I didn’t read any of the other books in this series before jumping into this one. I don’t feel like I lost any of the story but if you want to meet all of the characters, you should start at the beginning. I will definitely be going back and reading the rest of the series.

Russell has to keep Holly and Gemma safe. That’s his only priority. Gemma sure doesn’t make that an easy task. There are people after Club Solitaire and part of Russell’s past May hold the key. Russell didn’t expect to feel anything for Gemma but once he sees her, there is instant attraction. Both Gemma and Russell have some baggage that gets in their way. Russell doesn’t really do relationships and Gemma’s been through a lot recently but maybe they can act on this attraction. The attraction between Russell and Gemma is just the beginning of what his book covers. There is so much mystery, danger and intrigue you can’t wait to find out what happens.

This was a good read, even coming into the series at the end. I did, however, feel like there there was a lot of Holly’s storyline in this book even though it was more Russell and Gemma’s book but otherwise it was a good read and the characters were great!

No Strings Attached by Lara Ward Cosio – Review by Angelina Frazzini

No Strings AttachedNo Strings Attached by Lara Ward Cosio
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

No Strings Attached by Lara Ward Cosio is a standalone romance. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I really enjoyed it!!

Kayla is just trying to do what she needs to do for herself and her daughter. Being a single mom is not all it’s cracked up to be. When she meets Tanner, they definitely have chemistry so they agree on a no strings attached arrangement. Of course nothing ever stays as casual as it’s intended and Kayla and Tanner start spending time together just because. Just as things might develop between them, Kayla’s ex comes back to complicate matters a bit. Does Kayla choose stable Tanner or unreliable Radisson for the sake of her daughter?

I really enjoyed this book! Kayla is such a relatable character as a strong single mom taking care of her daughter. The chemistry between Kayla and Tanner is off the charts and makes for such a good read! This book is the right combination of sweet, spicy and emotional!

Something Lost (Funerals and Weddings Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Something LostSomething Lost by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Something Lost by Bernadette Marie is book one of the Funerals and Weddings series. Second chance romances are one of my favorite tropes and this book is no exception!

Craig and Rachel broke the rules when they dated in high school but that didn’t stop them from falling in love. As it does, the real world got in the way and they both went separate ways. Now they are forced back together. Craig and Rachel have both experienced some highs and lows since they’ve been separated but there is some rekindling of their spark when they see each other again. They definitely have hurdles in their way. Can Rachel face her traumas to be with Craig and can he handle the baggage or will these two fizzle out like they did before?

I enjoyed this book. There was a lot of emotion and the characters were well developed. It really felt like you were right next to them going through this story. I can’t wait to see what this series has in store for the rest of the characters!

Gone Country (Gone in Love) by Katrina Marie – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Gone Country (Cousins Gone #1)Gone Country by Katrina Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Gone Country by Katrina Marie is book one of the Gone in Love series. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I wasn’t disappointed!

In order for Stella to get the promotion she desperately wants and needs, she needs to prove she deserves it. In order to do that, she needs to move to a small town. She doesn’t have an easy go of it at first but that doesn’t last for long. Stella is strong willed. She’s determined to make it through her time in Asheville. Then she meets Johnny, who offers to fix her car for her, among other things. Can Stella keep her eye on the promotion and still spend spend time with Johnny even though her time is only temporary?

Stella is a bit of a workaholic and definitely thinks work trumps everything which works for her. Johnny definitely has charm and didn’t hesitate to use it on Stella. These two had sparks. This book was well written and overall I enjoyed the story!

Drew: Book One of the Perfectly Independent Series by Amanda Shelley – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Drew by Amanda Shelley is book one of the Perfectly Independent series.

Abby’s goal is to become a doctor. After her chemistry lab, she’s sure she’s doomed. Drew is not someone she ever expected to be in her lab. With his cockiness, she knows she needs to stay far away, that is until they end up as lab partners. Drew has one goal and basketball was his ticket to get there. But then, he’s paired with Abby for lab and all of his plans may just crumble. Can he stick to the plans he laid out or will Abby derail everything?

I really enjoyed reading Drew and Abby’s story. It was so nice to see that Drew had big goals outside of basketball and he wanted to ensure nothing got in his way. Abby was just as driven. They both wanted to do to why was necessary to achieve their goal that they were a little blind at first to what was happening between them. The build up is half the fun! The book wasn’t at all what I was expecting and I definitely recommend this book!
