Can’t Forget (Solum #2) by Colleen S. Myers – Review by Chantelle Smith

Can't ForgetCan’t Forget by Colleen S. Myers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can’t forget is the second read in the Solum Series from author Colleen S. Myers. Once again this book has held me totally captivated from the start, right until the very end! For the full benefit of this incredible series I recommend that it’s read in order, as you wouldn’t want to miss a thing with this series. I didn’t think Colleen S. Myers would get any better with this series, but my oh my – has she proved me wrong!

This author has once again transported us back into this created an incredibly vivid, mentally visual read. I couldn’t help but picture the whole planet in my mind while reading it, the look and descriptions of each individual character that Beta comes into contact with. All of it makes for an incredible sci-fi, alien romance novel filled with action, adventure, mystery, suspense, romance and most important an incredible plot.

This time we see Elizabeth ‘Beta’, trying to work out what could ultimately help the Fost bring down their enemies the E’Mani. Along the way she continues to grow as a person and her journey continues at a fast pace. I absolutely love her and Marin together, they bring an incredible dynamic to this read that I absolutely love to read about, but there is something between them that plays a big part in some of Beta & Marin’s actions. Along with Marin, Finn is back in this read and he brings another side of Beta to the forefront, one that also shows strength and determination. But too me my OTP has got be Marin & Beta.
But just as we think maybe there could be a possibility of a way to overcome the evil that has disrupted Beta’s life things are about to be thrown off!

Once again we were given twists and turns that make it even harder to put this read down, we cannot forget the magic that is weaved through the story and the history of it.
I loved that we are still learning all new things along with Beta, whether it’s the history of the planet she is on, the Fost, the E’Mani or even her own Power it made everything seem more real, and as though we were there living out the story ourselves.

Overall this was an incredible read that I loved that I got the chance to read, and cannot wait to delve into this world again in Book 3- to see what continues with Beta’s story – and whether they can finally overcome this evil! With plenty more story to be told I cannot wait to thrown back into this world!

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance (The Big Apple Series #1) by Alexa Summers – Review by Chantelle Smith

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance: The Big Apple Series Book 1Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance: The Big Apple Series Book 1 by Alexa Summers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance is Book 1 in The Big Apple Series From author Alexa Summers.
This is my first read from this author and I can’t wait to see what else she brings to this series and what other reads she has. Alexa Summers has created a read that is entertaining, funny, sexy, steamy & just an amazing read from the get-go.

Lexi has a job all women probably wished they had, interviewing sports stars from the Locker rooms, which means catching some of the stars just off the pitch! But what she never expects in one of her usual interviews is for a wardrobe malfunction to happen to backup quarterback Brett Brock live on T.V which then causes her and Brett into the limelight.
To read Lexi and Brett’s journey through this book was so enjoyable, there was quite a few things about this read that had me laughing out loud, but there was also times that this book made me frustrated just by the actions from Brett. But none of the less, I really do think Brett & Lexi have a great relationship they had banter with each other but I don’t think they were actually aware of how great they could be with each other even with their love/hate relationship but the build up of it caused a steamy release for the both of them!

This was a brilliant read from start to finish and one that shouldn’t be missed! I can’t wait to see what else is to come to this series, until then this one shouldn’t be missed!

Bound by Blood (Crescent City Wolf Pack, #3)Bound by Blood by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bound by Blood is Book 3 In the Crescent City Wolf Pack Series from author Carrie Pulkinen. This is my third read from this author and yet she still continues to surprise me with how brilliant each book is and how she captivates me even more with each book in this series. I can’t wait to see what else she brings to this series. While these books are written as part of a series, you can easily read these as stand-alone but I highly recommend that you read in order just for you to enjoy this incredible world this author has created.

This book was action packed, mysterious, suspenseful, fast-paced and thrilling, it has romance, passion & sexiness. This is an amazing read that hooks you in from the beginning and brings you on this amazing rollercoaster of a ride with some incredible characters. We are given twists and turns throughout that keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what could happen next.

In this read Alexis & Bryce are our main characters in this read, and while we follow them on their journey we also get introduced to new and existing characters. From first meeting Alexis & Bryce in Book 1 I couldn’t wait for them to finally get their own back story. These two had sparks flying from the start – after reading Alexis backstory you can understand more of reasons of why she is that way. But finally seeing Bryce & Alexis get a story together they both take a journey in this read that is needed for the both of them!.
With a couple of twists and turns this once again makes for an incredible read for any lover of the Paranormal Romance genre.

This book should not be missed – either shall it’s series! Don’t miss this one!

Credence Woods by Alexandria Sure – Review by Chantelle Smith

Credence WoodsCredence Woods by Alexandria Sure
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Credence Woods is a stand-alone novel from author Alexandria Sure. This is my first read from this author and I loved every bit of this book.
I was captivated and couldn’t put this read down. This author has created an amazing writing style and some brilliant characters that really influence the story and me while reading it.

This book really made its way into my heart, I loved going along with Kennedy’s journey of self-discovery and trying to overcoming her insecurities. I loved her personality, her passion – there was just something about her I felt connected with from the start and would love to have her as a friend. Max, ticked all the right boxes for me from the get-go! There was nothing I could fault about him except where could I find myself a version of him. These two connected in the most unique way – but then to be brought together again in what could have been an awful accident truly proved something was real between them. These two hit it off from the start and their connection was undeniable and was amazing to see both of the let there walls down especially Kennedy with the stories from her past and the reasons for some of their decisions.

My only issue with this read was one, I’m sure there was a time jump within the story but it wasn’t made clear – one minute it seemed like a current thing then something was mentioned about the three months spent together and it kind of jumped. I would have liked that smoother and more known to the reader. Also, the ending seemed choppy, compared to how the rest of the book was.
But with that being said none of these things put me off and I loved this book anyway! It was heartwarming, emotional, lovable and just a brilliant romance read!

This book also has some amazing secondary characters that help tell the main character’s story even more – can we point out how incredible Hank is! Who wouldn’t want a friend or assistant like that?

This is a read that should be read by all. You will love these characters from the minute you meet them and stick with them through their journey until the end! Do not miss this read!

SILK ROAD (Code Raven #6) by Lynda Filler – Review by Chantelle Smith

SILK ROAD (Code Raven, #6)SILK ROAD by Lynda Filler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Code Raven: Silk Road is book 6 in this series from author Lynda Filler. Once again she has proven how captivating her storylines and characters are and I can’t wait to see what else is to come.

Lynda Filler has continued to prove how much better each of these reads can be. Silk Road is thrilling, action-packed and full of twists and turns that left you wondering what was going to happen next and left you wanting more. I was totally captivated and entranced by this read and couldn’t put it down.

The characters in which Lynda has created are relatable, real and you can’t help but want to find out more. I like that every book has a different storyline, yet all relate to the same characters, we get to read about old characters and new characters which keeps this book even more enjoyable. My only issue this time was jumping ahead and missing books but with that being said I didn’t feel lost within the story it flowed seamlessly.

This is a brilliant captivating story that is mentally visual in all aspects of the story. Being a quick read you never feel as though the story is rushed you get just the right amount of story, action – and it doesn’t feel as though everything is crammed in to get to the end of the book.

I can’t wait to see what else is to come from this series and just how much better this author stories can get – she continues to prove how incredibly captivating and riveting her books are and how each one connects you more to the characters involved! This is a series I highly recommend not to be missed!

Our Unexpected HopeOur Unexpected Hope by Michelle Sullivan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Our Unexpected Hope is from author Michelle Sullivan. This is my second read from this author and I was so glad that I got to experience her writing style and incredible characters again. These books are stand-alone but there are some characters that are mentioned in this read that play pivotal parts in the first book Our Next a chapter. So I think for the best experience to read them together just to get a better insight into certain characters backgrounds.

Noah and Quinn had an amazing connection from the get-go. It was quite a quick progression of their relationship but it was a connection that blended well and worked out for the best in the end. Both of these characters had depth, they are lovable and relatable and I enjoyed reading their journey from the get-go.
This book takes us on an up and down rollercoaster of emotions from start till finish. You are either smiling, laughing, crying, sad, angry and even excitement. You never get bored while reading this book and there is always something going on. I was totally captivated and entranced from the first page.

After another incredible read from this author, I guarantee she will become one of my go-to authors. This is an incredible read that I highly recommend to others to read! Don’t miss it!

The Fifth Knight (The Knights of Caerleon #1)The Fifth Knight by Jesikah Sundin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The fifth Knight is Book 1 in the series The Knights of Caerleon. This series comes from authors Claire Luana & Jesikah Sundin. This is my second read from the author Claire Luana and she continues to show how great of a fantasy author she is.
This is my first time reading a reverse harem read, and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the adventures our characters faced. This book was made even better by the way the author has written it – I love that we get told the story from various POV’s it gives us a better understanding to our characters, there thoughts and feelings and why they do or say certain things.

First off let’s point out how great of a spin on the story of King Arthur and his knights of the round table this read is. Then to make it even more captivating we are thrown into the world with fae and magic.
I loved the mythology in this read, and how facts from history are incorporated into the story. This author has made this a mentally visual read, so whenever I plunged into this world I would feel as though I was there alongside the characters.
This read is action-packed read that continues to captivate you from start to finish. It left you on the edge of your seat wondering what could happen on numerous occasions.

This book engaged me into the story and characters so much the ending came much too quickly – with that being said I really am looking forward to Book 2 in this series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Nearness of You is a stand-alone read from author K.G. Fletcher. This is my fourth read from this author and she continues to never disappoint. She continues to astound me with her incredible characters and even better story lines. I was completely hooked and captivated with this read from the start and unable to put it down until I was finished. I can absolutely say this is by far the best book I have read by K.G Fletcher. But I still cannot wait to see what else she brings.

Both of these characters are relatable, lovable and totally perfect for each other. It was amazing to read their journey, following their ups and downs, and the obstacles that they face. But from the start, there was still something between these two that was undeniable totally perfect. Both of these characters had me swooning especially David, but come on once you read this read you will understand why.

With a few twists and turns that are thrown into the mix, this is the perfect read, amazing characters, brilliant storyline, it’s romantic, funny and an easy flowing read right from the start – it’s a book that should not be missed!

Painting Kuwait Violet by Pamela Q. Fernandes – Review by Chantelle Smith

Painting Kuwait VioletPainting Kuwait Violet by Pamela Q. Fernandes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Painting Kuwait Violet is written by author Pamela Q. Fernandes. This is an intriguing and suspenseful read and one that makes a change from the usual books I usually read. It did take me a while to connect to this read, and the characters but as the story progresses and the story gets more developed I began to really enjoy the read!

This author has a very intriguing and engaging writing style. She has created some inspiring and strong characters especially Violet. This was an eye-opening read that I didn’t expect to be as captivating as it was. Most of the time I was on the edge of my seat wondering what could happen next. This read is full of mystery, danger, suspense and packed full of action. I loved reading the description of Kuwait, I could mentally visualise everything I read which made it that much mor enjoyable. There was some dark twists and turns within the book, such as theft, assault and many more but it added to depth of this book. It was great to see the friendship blossom between two unlikely people in Violet & Sabah, but it helped both of them in certain ways.

For this being a read I wouldn’t normally read, it was surprised how much I enjoyed it and was compelled to read it and the characters stories. It’s a read that should be experienced by all.

Small Town Hero (Small Town Brides, #1) by Kim Koby – Review by Chantelle Smith

Small Town Hero (Small Town Brides, #1)Small Town Hero by Kim Koby
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Small Town Hero is Book 1 in the Small Town Brides Series From author Kim Koby.

This was my first read from this author and won’t be my last. This author has a great writing style and knows how to draw you in with her characters backstories and plots.

This was a quick, romantic read that had a brilliant plot line and wonderful characters that you are immediately drawn to and love reading about and following their journey. This is a quick read that draws you and holds you captivated till the end.

Rebecca has just witnessed the most heartbreaking thing she never expected to see – but what she never expected was that fate would intervene and change her life in a matter of days. Ryan was never expecting that the random girl at the gas station would inevitably change his life for the better, and develop a connection that neither of them has ever felt before.

Even though this book didn’t feel rushed and was full of brilliant things, and I thoroughly enjoyed the book from start to finish – I personally felt that the circumstances revolving around Ryan & Rebecca relationship, was brilliant to see and that they had an undeniable connection from the start, but the events that continue to unfold felt unrealistic to me, too fast – even if they were perfect for each other. Another thing that stumped me was how abruptly it stopped – I expected to enjoy more about their relationship but it just stopped and got the book set up for the commencement of Book 2 (which I must say I am looking forward to reading).

I can’t wait to read Book 2 in this series to see whether the characters are just as brilliant as this one – this is a brilliant read that you shouldn’t miss.

Give and Take (The Thorne Brothers #2) by Lee Kilraine – Review by Chantelle Smith

Give and Take (The Thorne Brothers, #2)Give and Take by Lee Kilraine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Give & Take is Book 2 in The Thorne Brothers series from author Lee Kilraine. These books are a part of a series but each one can be read and thoroughly enjoyed as a stand-alone. This author doesn’t disappoint with her incredible storylines and captivating characters. I cannot wait to see what other great stories I can read from this author, and what else she will bring to this series.

This book was amazing. It had everything you needed to make this an amazing read that I was unable to put down and had me hooked from the first page. The two characters Wyatt & Rhia in this book were captivating to read and loved everything about them. They both are independent, determined characters that both have some issues impacting their future. You can’t help but root for them and hope they get a HEA.

Wyatt & Rhia have an undeniable connection from the get-go. Both of them have a way of getting into a deeper part of the other, Rhia had a way of getting under Wyatt’s skin, yet it impacted his life in a way neither of them knew, and Wyatt had a way of impacting Rhia’s life in a way she always hoped she would get from her family. They have a brilliant banter that you can’t help but have a continuous grin on your face. This book has made me smile, laugh and even let a few tears slip, but it made this book even more brilliant, captivating.

Rhia & Wyatt brought out the best in each other, and I loved seeing Wyatt’s walls break down and go from the quiet and brooding to quiet and brooding and excepting all the things that drive him mad about Rhia and actually having fun, relaxing and being himself. Rhia was the complete opposite to Wyatt in so many ways yet that made them the perfect match! To see the support and encouragement he gave her when others didn’t, really made Rhia understand and realise she should believe, and pursue what she really wanted.

I loved the secondary characters in this book and can’t wait to read how their stories unfold – picking one of the Thorne brothers to be my favourite would just be cruel, but I loved their relationship with Wyatt and even how they immediately welcome Rhia.

This is a brilliant read that should not be missed! I highly recommend this book – I cannot wait for book 3 in this series to see who’s story we get to follow and hope this isn’t the last we read of Wyatt’s & Rhia’s story.

Must Remember (Solum, #1)Must Remember by Colleen S. Myers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Must remember is Book one in the Solum series from author Colleen S. Myers.
This book has literally held me captivated since the first page and held me there until the very end. I was not expecting to be drawn into the action, suspense and mystery quite so early on in this read but it made everything more heightened while reading it.

Elizabeth ‘Beta’ is introduced straight away and we are thrown into her world – one that not only becomes a mystery to her, but to us as well. We follow her on the journey of ups & downs. The mystery surrounding her own existence on this unknown planet. She becomes a mystery to everyone – and they try anything to figure out why and how she got there and of course the biggest suspense of them all why she was wearing enemies clothing.

This author has created an incredibly vivid, mentally visual read. I couldn’t help but picture the whole planet in my mind while reading it, the look and descriptions of each individual character that Beta comes into contact with. All of it makes for an incredible sci-fi, alien romance novel filled with action, adventure, mystery, suspense, romance and most important an incredible plot.

Each character that Beta interacts with, comes across to you as the reader in different ways. Each of them making their own impressions on Beta and the way acts around them, but you can’t help but love Finn & Marin and of course Ute, but each of these characters has their own story to be told and I loved reading their interactions, feelings and ideas of why Beta is there. Along with the brilliant connections, we cannot forget the magic that is weaved through the story and the history of it.
I loved that we were learning all things along with Beta, it made everything seem more real, and as though we were there living out the story ourselves.

Overall this was an incredible read that I loved that I got the chance to read, and cannot wait to delve into this world again in Book 2 – to see what continues with Beta’s story.

Fisher of Men is Book 1 in The Eastern Shore Swingers Series From author Phoebe Alexander. This was a brilliant steamy read that had you captivated totally compelled to read until the very end. This is a totally unique romance read.

Even with these books being part of a series, they can all be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. This is my first type Swingers themed read, and the synopsis was really intriguing, so I took the chance and I’m so glad I took it. I was learning about the lifestyle along with the main character Leah Miller. There are great details within this read, that make it even more captivating and intriguing.
I loved Leah & Chris ‘Cap’ Sheldon from the start, they have chemistry from the get-go that continues to grow throughout the read, but can Leah stop the struggle she has with herself between her religion and sexuality and follow her heart with Cap and her desires? I loved reading Cap and Leah’s story I loved watching them evolve and Leah experiencing and learning new things all the while having a strong, alpha male taking her along on the journey.

Along with the main characters we have some brilliant secondary characters that really stand out and help make this story progress further, and I can’t wait to read some of their stories.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Boss Man is Book 4 in The Manly Series from author Teddy Hester – even though these books are part of a series, these books can be read as stand-alone and still be enjoyed just as much.

This book was captivating and I was totally compelled while reading it. This plot was well written and this author had created some brilliant characters. This was a short read, and at times I think it could have been better if it was a full length novel just so that we had more depth to certain parts in the read, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it.

Each characters that was created for this story was relatable and I loved reading Jack & Jillian’s journey through this read. They have incredible banter throughout and an undeniable connection from the get-go – I definitely would love to have more from them though. I liked the little twist of the suspense in the novel, it added another level to this read and it was something I did enjoy. I loved how it was written and how you got the countdown to Jack’s deadline.

This was a great introduction to this author for me, and I will look forward to see what else this author brings to this series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Transformations Book 1 in The Shifter Series by author Cari Schaeffer is my first read from this author. She has a brilliant writing style that connects you the reader to the plot and the characters. The synopsis of this book really intrigued me and I couldn’t wait to get started. This was a brilliant fantasy paranormal read, that I could mentally visualise every detail while reading. This read isn’t like your normal Shifter reads it has twists and turns and is kind of like a spin on a Romeo & Juliet story with family’s that are enemy’s that has been building for centuries. This book is filled with lots of emotions that each character feels. This book is captivating, entrancing and I can’t wait to see what else this author brings to this series!

With this book being written in various POV’s it helps you understand the characters actions, and understand the character as a whole, it also brings this story an added depth. With each character that is involved in this story, you follow their journey and watch them grow throughout. But the one whose journey we follow the most is Katherine Wolff. Releasing the DemonsReleasing the Demons by L.D. Rose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow, Wow, Wow! This book deserves way more than 5 stars!!

Releasing the Demons is Book 1 in The Order of the Senary series from author L.D. Rose. I cannot believe how incredible this read was. I was totally shocked at how captivating and compelled I was while reading this book. This author has created an incredible imaginative read, full of plot twists, incredibly lovable characters and a read that will last with me for quite some time. I was mentally visualising this whole read the entire time – I had withdrawals every time I had to put this book, but I love it so much I read it in one sitting.

This read was dark, thrilling, suspenseful, action packed and I loved every single page within this book. This read had you on the edge of seat with fear, anticipation and hope that they never found Blaze or Valerie. This was a brilliant take on the vampire fantasy world, it made a change for the main theme of the book to be surrounding hybrids they really don’t get as much recognition but after reading this and meeting Blaze and his brothers they have truly made their way into my heart, especially Blaze. After everything he has endured, I’m surprised he is still holding on and fighting. But everything is made even more difficult when. When Valerie enters his life its not in the best way possible – but boy oh boy does she make a lasting impression and change in Blaze, so much so he realises he does have someone more to love for. She makes him feel and he makes her realise that some ‘leeches’ are better than others.

This two have a (literally) hot connection that just continues to grow and their chemistry just continues to bloom. They are made for each other, they bring out the best in each other and you can’t help but love the way she brings Blaze’s walls down and show his vulnerability when around her.

I cannot wait to see what else it brought to this series. Who’s story we will follow next? But I will most definitely be hoping this isn’t the last we get of Blaze & Valerie’s story – as you can tell this is only the beginning.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Casstiel; Born of Lightning: Dragon Shifter (Dragon kind ~ 52 Realms #2) is action-packed suspenseful romance read from author Sheri-Lynn Marean. This is my first read from this author and I can’t wait to experience what else she has to offer with her other books. For one thing, let us just appreciate how unique, beautiful & powerful this front cover is….! WOW!!!

This was such an imaginative read, that totally captivates you from the start. It’s one of those reads that as your reading it, you can mentally picture everything, it makes you even more connected to this story as your reading it which then makes you feel as though you are there alongside the characters following their journey with them.
This book takes you on an emotional rollercoaster with both our characters Casstiel & Ashara with their past and their pain flowing through the pages. You are thrown twists and turns throughout that keep you wanting more, where you continue to try and figure out what will happen next but this author has created this storyline in such a way it’s not easy to figure out.

I absolutely loved how much of the fantasy theme was weaved throughout this read, with different places/realms and languages throughout, all the different types of beings we learn as well of this world as we follow Casstiel and Ashara story.
Each character in this story has many things that determine how they live their life now, and with the introduction of each other in their lives – will their connection grow stronger? Or is their past still holding them back from getting a HEA?

Can we also point out the secondary characters in this read, they help make this book get greater depth and help our main characters tell their stories even more.

This is a brilliant captivating and a beautifully imaginative book that should not be missed for all fans or Fantasy, Shifters and Romance.

Georgia Pine is Book 3 in the Southern Promises Series from author KG Fletcher. This is my third read from this author and will most definitely not be my last.

This author writing style was captivating, easy flowing and easy to read. The characters that K.G. Fletcher has created are wonderful they are real, relatable and very lovable.

Even though these books are part of a series, they can be read as standalone as in each book we follow new main characters on their journey through this book, but just to get a feel at how incredible these series is I’d recommend that you read in order. But with each book in this series, each one seems to be getting better and better.

Just ExesJust Exes by Charity Ferrell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just Exes is a another read in Blue Beech Series from author Charity Ferrell.
This is my fourth read from this author and I still continue to enjoy them read after read, and in fact, I think she continues to make them get better and better. This author has an incredible writing style that captivates you, has you following the journey of these characters until the very end, so much so you don’t want to put the read down.

Everything about her books continues to captivate you through the entire read. I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump lately but this most definitely got me out of it. I was totally hooked with this read, it was an emotional rollercoaster of emotions and a rollercoaster of a journey for both of our characters Gage & Lauren. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what these two could be hiding from each other, and also hoping that I was something that they could both overcome TOGETHER. But I was definitely not expecting it to take that heartbreaking turn!
These two have been through a lot more than you originally think, but I’m glad these two get the chance to tell their story. A story of second chances, heartbreak, loss, pain, love, passion, anger. But boy oh boy have these two characters got an undeniable chemistry and connection that cannot be ignored by each other or others in their lives. These two are destined to be together.

I absolutely loved each of these secondary characters in their own way – Lauren the strong women, that puts others happiness before her own, and is determined to always help others, just so happens to come back into Gage’s life when he most definitely needs her, he just doesn’t realise that through his hate, pain & guilt. Gage, on the other hand, is strong, confident and underneath all that heartbroken, angry & broken – but what he doesn’t realise is that Lauren the only other person to cause him so much pain the only person that can possibly get him through it all. These two break down each other’s walls and helps each other fight their internal struggles. They may still have to face ups and downs in this read but you can’t help but wish & hope that they finally get their second chance and a HEA.

Along with our amazing main characters we have some brilliant secondary characters that I didn’t realise were all part of the same series, but it was good to read about Willow & Dallas, Stella & Hudson and see how their stories were progressing. It was also nice to see the friendship that Willow & Lauren had throughout this book it really helped the story along and influenced the characters in their journeys as well.

I can’t wait to see where Charity Ferrell will take this series next and whose story we will be getting next – I will most certainly be waiting for that read! I cannot wait. But until then this is a read that should not be missed and I can’t wait to see where Lauren & Gage’s story goes next.

Whiskey Dick (Whiskey Dick #1) by Ryan Ringbloom – Review by Chantelle Smith

Whiskey DickWhiskey Dick by Ryan Ringbloom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Whisky Dick is book 1 in the Whiskey Dick series from author Ryan Ringbloom. This my first read from this author and my oh my will I be looking out for more of her books. She has totally captivated me with this read and I can’t wait to see what else she does with this series.

This was a quick, exciting read that I couldn’t put down This book was compelling, intriguing and I really enjoyed this read I couldn’t put it down.

This book was romantic, steamy, entertaining and it brings two brilliant characters together.
This is a brilliant quick read that hits the spot. It’s sexy, sweet & funny. Our two main characters Jax and Paisley meet unexpectedly in a situation that has them both anxious and on edge but it puts them in a situation that makes them face an extra long journey together that sparks something in both of them even through all the ups and downs they go through.

Through all this, the sparks that fly between these two is undeniable and has blossomed in the most unique way. They both can be straightforward and know what they want and I think that’s what gives them a brilliant quality and connection in which you can’t help hoping they get their HEA!

I would love to read more of the secondary characters stories and also a Continuation story  to what happens with Jax and Paisley’s relationship after this read!

I thoroughly enjoyed this read and will continue to look out for more of Ryan Ringbloom’s books because she has shown how brilliant and great her characters and storyline continues not to disappoint.

Belleza and the Brute: A Modern Day Retelling of Beauty and the Beast by Jane Matisse – Review By Chantelle Smith

Belleza and the Brute: A Modern-Day Retelling of Beauty and the BeastBelleza and the Brute: A Modern-Day Retelling of Beauty and the Beast by Jane Matisse
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Belleza and the Brute is a standalone novel from author Jane Matisse. This is my first read from this author and I’m so glad that I got the chance to read this. I can’t wait to see what else this author brings, and how her other books compare to this one but I’m excited to find out!

This book was compelling, intriguing and I cannot say how much I enjoyed this read. I loved that it was a take on Beauty and the Beast, but it also had it own unique spin to it that I really enjoyed.
This book was romantic, steamy, sweet and at time entertaining and funny. But also maybe little predictable but that didn’t take away how much I enjoyed this read. I wouldn’t change anything about it. There was time in this read that a twist was thrown in that threw you, but it also gave this story an added depth. But you cannot ignore that there was something real and raw with this book with the nightmares and memories of Tristan’s and Elena’s past but also the thoughts and feeling that Tristan was feeling throughout this book. But there was also something with the vulnerability that he has that made you love him even more.
Elena was most definitely the best thing that could happen to him, with them both experiencing pain and lost within each of their lives they found something within each other that connected them on a deeper level and I think she is exactly what Tristan needs to overcome and more forward from his past.
Elena brings something and make him feels things he never wanted of thought he deserved to feel again, but you could help but just wish Tristan would stop being so stubborn and except his feelings that he knew were not going away and just except the inevitable.

Elena really knew how to pack a punch, she tested Tristan at points and also made him smile and laugh. They have a great chemistry that starts of slow and then ignited and cannot go ignored. I really think that it makes their relationship even more real for the fact that all the have faced and experienced they understand the hard times and except it from each other.

We cannot forget to mention the secondary characters that come into this read. Let’s first say if it wasn’t for Adam, Tristan and Elena would never get to where they are today, but I would love to read about his journey he takes after the events of this read. Also how amazing are Paola and Keith, they bring another level of excellence to this read and the journey our two main characters make. And lastly the shady Daniel, from the moment he spoke to Elena in the library and basically insulted books and reading I disliked him and he continues to prove so through the book in which you will, have to read in order to find out!

This was an incredible read, that if written would love to read another story about Elena & Tristan to see where thegy have come in their journey together, but until then (hopefully) do not miss this wonderful, compelling and brilliant read!

Angels and Demons (Saint’s Justice MC #1) by A.C. Bextor – Review by Chantelle Smith

Angels and Demons (Saint's Justice MC #1)Angels and Demons by A.C. Bextor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Angels and Demons is Book 1 in the Saint’s Justice MC series from author A.C Bextor. This is my second read from this author and I can’t wait to see what else she brings to this series and other books from her.

This book completely captivated me from start till finish. I was totally hooked to the storyline and the characters Mia & Elevent. With MC books becoming a firm favourite of mine this one most definitely didn’t disappoint in fact this was even better than I expected. This book has danger, action, adventure, romance, passion in all things, left you on the edge of seat wondering what could possibly happen next but then also left you craving more.
This book has many things that make it stand out but one of them I think are the characters. Mia who u must admit is annoying at times brings something to this book you don’t often typically find, a girl on the outside who is reserved and kind of shy slowly fit into and feel comfortable in the world of MC’s but also feel confident enough to say her piece especially when it involves her. But I think it’s the entire demeanour of Elevent and a few helpful others that help it be a smoother transition.
Her and Elevent’s back and forth bantering just shows how much chemistry they have with each other, she has a metal and physical impact on Elevent and he makes her feel things she didn’t know existed but there is just something great and perfect about these two, but can they get their HEA?

Not only do the main characters impact this story but so do some secondary characters who I would love to learn more about their stories and how they come to be a member of the Saint’s Justice.

This is a thrilling, captivating and action-packed read that leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait to see what happens with the rest of the series, but until then don’t miss this read!

Hagen (Big Series # 1) by Janice M. Whiteaker – Review by Chantelle Smith

Hagen (Big, #1)Hagen by Janice M. Whiteaker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hagen is book 1 in the Big series from author Janice M. Whiteaker. This is my first read from this author but it most definitely will not be my last! She has written a read that is captivating and compelling with some amazing characters and a brilliant storyline that you couldn’t help but enjoy from start to finish! I can’t wait to see what else this author brings to this series.

This book was suspenseful, fast paced & thrilling, it has romance, passion, sexiness. This is an amazing imaginative read that hooks you from the beginning and brings you on this amazing rollercoaster filled ride, with incredible characters such as Rhea and Hagen, Jarrik & Stewart. I don’t think I couldn’t wish for a more brilliant paranormal, sexy read than this.

From the get-go I loved Rhea, you could tell she was going to be an independent, strong women who will go after what she wants. I also like that we got that added extra of Rhea and her special abilities. She awakens them more with being in Greenlee and develops them to be more powerful.
You can tell Greenlee will be a place that will be central to everything thing that occurs in Rhea and Hagen journey, improving it and helping out others that have it tough.

We do get thrown a couple of twist and that we don’t expect but I’m glad that everything works out in the end!

But her dynamic with Hagen straight off the bat is what got me even more invested into this story! The chemistry that is between Hagen & Rhea is instantaneous, yet they both his it from one another, that is until it gets too powerful for them to don’t. you can’t help but fall for Hagen yourself, he is sexy, powerful, strong & your typical alpha male he is caring, considerate and shows more compassion and feeling than others which makes him perfect. At first you think he is just a broody male but after you find out his story and what he has given up and suppresses you can’t help but live him more and feel his pain! I can’t help but route for Rhea and Hagen throughout this entire read, They just seem perfect together and that they could really make a difference together and to top it off they have undeniable passion!

This is an incredible start to a series with some amazing characters, I hope this isn’t the last we hear from Hagen & Rhea, and that they continue to get the HEA they both deserve.
