Not So Broken (Love Grows Series, # 1) by Renee Regent – Review By Chantelle Smith

Not So Broken (Love Grows Series, # 1)Not So Broken by Renee Regent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

With emotions running high and some incredible characters Not So Broken, makes an incredible introduction to the Love Grows Series by Renee Regent. This is my first read from this author and now most certainly will not be my last.
This book was everything, this author has created such a real and raw storyline, and amazing characters you couldn’t help but love following their journey through this read and hoping they get the HEA they so rightly deserve.

Gib and Sacha’s journey in this book is one I completely got lost in and loved experiencing things along with characters. Both of these characters have raw and painful pasts, something they try not to let overcome their day to day life but ultimately it does and affects them in ways they didn’t really know. But with everything that happens the connection these two have is undeniable and rightfully so perfect for each other, I still can’t believe how long Sacha tries to deny it for, and how she can’t see that even through the ups and downs and rollercoasters they both face these two prove their connection is real and is meant to be.
With emotions running high for me as the reader one minute laughing and smiling the next holding back the tears, this book truly captivated me with two amazing strong, independent characters this is a story not to be missed!

I can’t wait to see what Renee Regent will bring to the rest of this series – and hope this isn’t the last of Gib & Sacha’s story!
This book is not to be missed!

C.L Schneider has once again created an unique read that is captivating, vivid, magical and utterly brilliant. The mentally visual read is stunningly descriptive with brilliant world building and great characters. This author has created a flowing read that keeps you invested in the story, so much so you think you are living the life of our main character Daliha Nite. This book should be read after book one as it flows effortlessly from book 1 to book 2.

This read is filled with suspense, mystery, fantasy and danger. To make it even more enjoyable is that it’s a shifter read, one that is unique and different from other shifter reads I have read. This book is also filled with twists and turns throughout, and keeps you guessing for most of the story! Both of these reads were brilliant from the get go, but there was something different with this read! There just seemed to be a lot more story in these books that had extra depth & brilliance.
Daliha and Creed are back again and this time they bring an extra level of greatness to this read with their brilliant connection and how well they work together.

This is a fast paced, high fantasy read that shouldn’t be missed. I can’t wait to see what else comes of this series, and what else this author can do. This is a read not to be missed!

Brinda Berry’s Fifth Book In The Stand By Me Series, The Shape Of Trust has been another incredible captivating read from the get go.
This is my second read from this author and even with this being book 5 they can be read as stand-alone and be enjoyed and loved just as much as if read in sequence. I was totally captivated with this read from the moment I started it. I absolutely loved the realness of this story and the plot and issues that are in this book, they are believable and relatable, and most definitely made a change to read about a single dad. I was surprised at how quickly I loved both Webb’s character and Lily’s.
These two have an instant attraction and connection that is undeniable, but is it something both of them can resist? Or will they get their HEA? With emotions running high through this book, it was a book nobody will put down and most certainly pick up and read again! It’s the perfect romance novel for all.

After reading this book I most definitely need to read all the ones I have missed. I can’t wait to see what else Brinda Berry does with this series, if it’s anything like this one you will not be disappointed!

I was completely utterly captivated and entranced with this read, each have such powerful and gripping story lines, I feel that getting to know Storm and watch her story develop just made this one so much stronger and more compelling and a brilliant addition to the Hawke Family Series.

Love, Love, Love. This book was everything and more.

Untrainable was filled with laughs, banter, passion, romance and a whole lot of brilliance, it was also sweet and emotional and I couldn’t help but love each character. This was captivating and such a wonderful read that I couldn’t rate enough! I absolutely loved everything about this read, this author has a brilliant writing style that totally connects the reader to the storyline and the amazing characters she has created.

This romantic comedy was brilliant from the start, I couldn’t put it down and I read it in one sitting. I was truly captivated with this read and couldn’t put it down, it had me laughing out loud, grinning from ear to ear and even feel some of their pain in certain situations through this book, maybe even a few tears. But this was an amazing comedy romance read that I would read over and over again.
With that being said there were secondary characters in this read that most defiantly deserve their own book such as Aiden I would love to read his story.

But for one thing can we just point out how perfect Hadley & Theo are together, they have an immediate connection that draws us in as readers and each other, they have such a real and raw relationship you can see both of them taking things from each other and helping each other on a journey. I love the reassurance and love Hadley gives Theo that he truly needs, and loved seeing the playful and more confident side to Hadley come out thanks to Theo, they really do bring out the best in each other and I loved reading it!

This is a read not to be missed, and will be loved by all, I cannot wait to see what else this author brings to this series and hope this isn’t the last we read of Hadley & Theo’s story.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Second Chance is Book One in the Powder River Pack Series from author Brooke May. This is my first read from this author and boy oh boy has she made a brilliant introduction.
I knew I would love this read immediately from just reading the synopsis. It had everything I love from a paranormal romance read, but I must say I loved this read even more now that I have read it. I cannot wait to read the others in this series, to see if Annabelle & Derek’s story continues or we get some of the amazing secondary characters stories. This was a brilliant second chance, romance read with the twist of paranormal weaved through. I loved this take on werewolves, that even though it followed some things we are used to reading about them, Brooke May also made them more mysterious and intriguing compared to normal werewolves. This didn’t at all take away the impact of the story, in fact, it made it that much more compelling as I wanted to find out more about Derek’s heritage.
Anna & Derek’s relationship was one all anyone could wish for in the beginning, but I also couldn’t imagine the pain these two went through! These two definitely went through some ups and downs in this read, but there was something about them that made them relatable, real and loveable from the get-go that you couldn’t help but root for them to get their HEA, especially when truths are revealed and twists are thrown into the mix to make this read even more captivating.

This was a brilliant read made even better by the fact it was written in dual POV’s it gave us more insight into our characters – what they were really thinking and feeling and gave greater depth and realness to our main characters.
I can’t wait to see what else this author bring to this series, I’ll be eagerly awaiting Book 2. Do not miss this read!

Or other townsfolk wondering when they are going to be getting back together, they have a bit of a rough start, with the banter going back and forth and Billie always saying the wrong thing, but will they realise that their feelings are just too strong to deny and will Christmas be the time that brings them back together?

Hope's Decree (The Fated #1)Hope’s Decree by Angela McPherson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hope’s Decree is Book 1 in The Fated Series, which is a new series from author Angela McPherson. This author has well and truly captured me into this world, which is full of action, adventure, suspense, mystery, romance and fantasy. Weaved throughout is Greek mythology that I felt as though I was learning new things along with the characters, I got so caught up in the flow of this book and it’s incredible story line and characters, I was gutted when it ended, I was completely captivated with this read from the very beginning right up until the last page.
The book was filled with twists and turns throughout that had me on the edge of my seat, along with feeling all the heightened emotions, Trinity’s story is one all should follow, especially when Blain comes into her life.

Angela McPherson has made this read mentally visual, and I felt as though I was there along side the characters living out the story myself.

This is an incredible fantasy read, that should not be missed! I highly recommend you read this story and dive into the new world that Angela has created! Don’t miss this read – you’ll be eagerly awaiting the next one in the series, just the same as me!

Caught in Make-Believe (The Caught Series #3) by Sharleen Scott – Review by Chantelle Smith

Caught in Make-Believe (The Caught Series Book 3)Caught in Make-Believe by Sharleen Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Caught in Make-Believe is Book 3 in the Caught Series from author Sharleen Scott. This author has given me a brilliant introduction into her writing style and characters she creates, and I will definitely be looking out for more of her reads.

This is my first read from this author, which also makes this my first read in this series, I recommend that books 1 & 2 should be read before this one, just so that you avoid the confusion that got when I first started reading this book. After a while I got into the flow of it and then eventually I couldn’t put the read down. This was a brilliant romantic suspense read, that had twists and turns throughout, that had me on the edge of my seat. Jace and Samantha have a great chemistry that I enjoyed reading and following their journey. This book also has me expecting certain things and then the author completely change the course of the book, which kept me on the edge of my seat even more.

I loved that this book was written in various POV’s it gave us more insight into our characters – what they were really thinking and feeling and gave greater depth and realness to Jace & Samantha.

This was a brilliant read with amazing characters – I highly recommend you read book 1 & 2 but this read is not to be missed!

F*cking Frank (Smirk Series #1) by Jen Luerssen – Review by Chantelle Smith

F*cking Frank (Smirk Series Book 1)F*cking Frank by Jen Luerssen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

F*cking Frank is Book 1 in the Smirk Series from author Jen Luerssen. This was my first read from this author and boy, oh boy was it a brilliant introduction in this author’s writing style and series. From the moment you open this book or even when you read this book’s synopsis you are physically laughing out loud, from start until the very end! This was a light-hearted comedy romance that keeps you captivated until the end. It was a smooth flowing easy read, that was a pleasure to read!

I loved the similarities in each character from the clothes, to the tattoos, and attitudes yet both of them are there own individual person. The connection that our main characters Frank & Mikey had was off the charts, and it was made even better by their interactions together and banter they would have. Throughout the book I was rooting for them, they had something special that I hoped they could pursue.

Another thing that stands out in this read is the secondary characters, all of them stand out in their own way, and the interactions they have with Frank really help push the story along.
But now for the part that stands out most to me, I love reading books that are from POVs, but I have never read one from a males POV for the entire read. It has got to be the best way to tell this story, if it was told any other way I don’t think it would be as great as what it was. It felt as though I was having a conversation with Frank, it was as though it was directed at me, and it made this read even better!

If you are looking for a read that makes you laugh, has romance and has a hot guy and an amazing female then this is the book for you, do not miss it!

Getting the Goods by Elizabeth Perry – Review by Chantelle Smith

Getting the GoodsGetting the Goods by Elizabeth Perry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Getting the Goods is a stand-alone novel from author Elizabeth Perry. My only issue is that I didn’t find this book sooner. I absolutely loved everything about this read, this author has a brilliant writing style that totally connects the reader to the storyline and the amazing characters she has created.

This read was filled with laughs, banter, passion, feistiness, romance and a whole lot of brilliance. I loved the concept of this book, Gabriella has taken it upon herself with the help/guidance of best friend Maria to become a mother in the most unconventional way – stealing sperm, but what she never expected was for Conner Andrews Victim Number 1 to come barrelling back into her life after the humiliation she faced the morning after with him. Especially when she finds out that he is her new boss!
The connection and the back and forth banter these two have from the start is what really sets the tone to this read. Gabriella is always wanting to find any way possible to push Conner’s limits, and what she doesn’t realise is that Conner is actually finding it quite refreshing and amusing, to be honest, is one of the things he actually likes about her. But underneath all the back and forth banter, you could tell there was something sizzling especially after spending time with Conner’s family. They both realise there is actually more to each other than the deal/agreement they made while on their week getaway could something actually become of them? Could Conner go against all he knew and settle down & become a father as that is a major part of being in Gabriella’s life? Can Gabriella finally get her HEA and become pregnant and have the family she always wanted? And will Conner be apart of that life?

I read this book in one sitting! I was truly captivated with this read and couldn’t put it down, it had me laughing out loud, grinning from ear to ear and even feel some of their pain in certain situations through this book, maybe even a few tears. But this was an amazing comedy romance read that I would read over and over again.
With that being said there were many secondary characters in this read that most defiantly deserve their own book such as Carter & Maria, I would love to read their story especially if Conner and Gabriella are involved in the story!

This is an incredible read that has set me up for reading more of Elizabeth Perry’s books. This is a book not to be missed!

Born to Fight (Can’t Resist You, #1) by Brittany Anne – Review by Chantelle Smith

Born to Fight (Can't Resist You, #1)Born to Fight by Brittany Anne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Born to Fight is Book 1 in The Can’t Resist You Series from author Brittany Anne, this is my first read from this author and after being introduced to her writing style and incredibly captivating read – I cannot wait to see what else she brings to Book 2 and anything else she writes.

The synopsis of this read definitely intrigued me just for the pure fact that it’s a dystopian read but this read felt so much more real and deeper than normal dystopian reads, it left me wanting more and Brittany Anne did not disappoint. She has created two amazing characters that you can’t help but love and want to discover more of their story and the journey they take.
This read is fast paced, action packed and full of suspense. I love how Rain and Hunter are thrown together and immediately they have a connection, both of these develop a connection that is right for the both of them! They are both strong, independent characters that are trying to carry on surviving in this world, is it something they can do together?

This read was mentally visual – I could imagine everything while reading it which made me even more connected to the read and the characters. Another great thing with this read was the secondary characters, they helped tell this story to an even bigger level as well as impacting Hunter & Rain’s journey.

This was an incredible read that I couldn’t put down and read in one sitting – it was completely compelling and addictive and I can’t wait for Book 2. I highly recommend this read! Don’t miss this amazing start to what I believe will be an incredibly action-packed, thrilling series!

Distant Memory is Book 3 in the Solum Series by author Colleen S. Myers. I don’t know how many times I can keep writing how incredible this authors book are, each time I have read another book from this author she just continues to get better and better.

I highly recommend you read these books in order to really understand each read and just as a whole is a series not be missed! I have been eagerly awaiting this book, and now it over its a bittersweet thing.

This book carries on straight after the events of Book 2 ‘Can’t Forget’ its a smooth seamless transition that flows just like the rest of the book.
Throughout this book, we are thrown twists and turns continuously its full of action, adventure and you never tire of it. You cannot put this read down, you are constantly turning the pages wondering what could possibly happen next – yet when it does it’s something you never expect!

Each character that Beta interacts within this book whether they are recurring characters from Book 1 & 2 or new characters, comes across to you as the reader in different ways. But while they may have their own part in Beta’s story it’s Beta’s story that you can’t help bugs be connected with. With each book and especially this one Beta has become even stronger and resilient even with all the choices she has to make.

This read is once again one of the most mentally visual books I have read, I was captivated at every turn, was catapulted into Beta’s story as though it was my own! I highly highly recommend this read & this series, and hope this isn’t the last we get from these amazing characters!

Hard as Steel: Book 4 (Surviving Series) by Virginia Wine – Review by Chantelle Smith

Hard as Steel: Book four (Hard as Steel: Book four by Virginia Wine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hard as Steel is Book 4 in the Surviving Series from author Virginia Wine. This book has romance, suspense and mystery from the start. I was captivated and thoroughly enjoyed this read from the start.
Even though these reads can be read as a stand-alone personally I did find that I felt I was missing bits of information that I could have got if I had read the previous three in this series, but nevertheless this book has given me a brilliant introduction into Virginia Wine’s writing style, plots and captivating characters.

You cannot dispute how intense this read is whether that’s from the twists and turns that are thrown our way throughout, the steamy scenes or the guessing game you play in which you keep losing because the author always has to keep you guessing with new clues.
Steel and Nicole our two main characters have an amazing chemistry, but is what these two develop enough to break the wall that Nicole has built so high? Or keep the calmness that Steel needs in his life?
I love that this book was told from various POV’s it gives us the opportunity to really understand each character, their thoughts and feelings and also their actions, it definitely brings you closer to each character.

Overall this is a brilliant book that has opened up the chance to experience a new author her work, and the rest of the books in this series! With the rest of the secondary characters within this read, I can’t wait for them to get their own story to tell!
Don’t miss this read!
