The Executive’s Decision (The Keller Family Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Jules Herbert

The Executive's Decision (Keller Family, #1)The Executive’s Decision by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Executive’s Decision By Bernadette Marie had me captivated from the very first paragraph.
You just knew that someone having that bad a start to their day had to have more interesting things coming her way.
The leading lady of this novel is Regan, a young beautiful woman who has gone through hell and survived, who now just wants a fresh start and a chance at a happy life. First step, New job but with that new job comes her Boss Zachary Benson. A “Hottie” according to his former assistant and a man who soon knows what he wants…Regan!
She has VERY good reason for NOT wanting to Date her Boss so the question in your mind quickly becomes ..can Zach convince her he is not anything like her past and that he truly loves her no matter what! No path to true love is ever smooth and they have obstacles to pass. I was on Zachs side the whole way wishing Regan could see his genuine love for her and let go of the demons from her past to be with him.
Not only do you fall for Zach and Regan, reading as quickly as you can to see what will happen, but the other characters around them also draw you in and i personally can not wait for more in this series!
Thank you Bernadette Marie for these wonderful heartfelt characters and all the sleepless nights i see in my future continuing to read the rest of this series…i just can’t wait!

Horse trainer Stone Dempsey’s life is all about the ride. Dr. Emmersyn Cole’s goal of starting a practice is finally coming true. But what happens when a baby is thrown in the mix? Leslie Scott is a wonderful author.  This novella is a quick read but it is packed full-on with emotions.

I really really enjoyed The Executive’s Decision by Bernadette Marie. The Zach character was a really great guy and someone I would love to be with. I will admit I was a little annoyed by Regan’s hesitance to trust due to her past. It was definitely a page turner. The author had a real flair for description and it made the story that much more enjoyable. I was able to really picture the setting and the atmosphere of the homes and family dynamics in both Zach’s and Regan’s family homes. I absolutely recommend this book!

Two Hearts, One Stone (Boots and Babies)Two Hearts, One Stone by Leslie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Two Hearts, One Stone is part of the Boots and Babies series by Leslie Scott.

Stone Dempsey has a bit of a reputation as a ladies man. He works hard as a horse trainer and likes to play hard too. That all has to change when his niece is left on his doorstep and he is suddenly left holding the baby.
Emmy has her doubts when she hears about Stone’s predicament. She knows his reputation and doesn’t know if he’s up for this commitment.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read but managed to pack a whole lot of action in. The chemistry between Stone and Emmy is there by the bucketload, and I loved that both of the main characters were strong, feisty, and full of passion. This story moves at a quick pace, and it’s a very easy read. This is my first book by this author, but I will definitely look out for more in the future.

This book was a quick read…but it was a good story.
Stone is a horse trainer with a bit of womanizing past. But his world is turned upside down by his sister and now he will have to figure out what is really important in his life.
Emmy has recently moved back to her hometown to open up her own practice. She has seen Stone (and likes what she sees), but she is focused on her business. When she finds Stone’s at her grandfather’s, she may have a change one her outlook as to what is important in life.
This fast read packs quite a story. I loved both of the characters. There was enough depth to keep me engaged…and enough drama to keep me turning the pages. There are ups and downs…but the story is quite good. I don’t want to give anything away…so go read it!

Is a nice funny, sweet romance. We catch up with Celicy and see how she’s coping Cecily is no different to any teen except being in the spotlight of course, but she still has the teenage angst, anxieties, friendship issues, drama which makes her a relatable character. The disparity between the real world and the celebrity world leaves Cecily with low self-esteem and makes her doubt her relationships. It explores first love, celebrity, conflicted friendships, misunderstandings, secrets and the negativity of social media. Well written, this story is easy reading, for any age group, but has the most appeal for its intended audience.

This new to me author is definitely a great discovery!
A book where the main character swears off men is always a good recipe for drama. It is the perfect chick-lit book to kick back, relax and enjoy a good book. I can totally relate to her wanting to swear sweats and write books. If only life was that easy.
I will definitely be reading more by this author

Sigh what I wouldn’t give to date Heath……
This was such a sweet Romance, the last couple of books I’ve read were a bit on the heavy side, so this was a nice change of pace.
I could really relate with Marlowe’s character and the sweet dynamic between Marlow and Heath was super awesome read. The secondary characters brought something extra to the storyline that to it to a whole new level.

Loved it!!!!!! This book was absolutely adorable, I love the feel of innocence to it as it follows two of the main characters and their developing love story. The book follows a girl who doesn’t believe in love or that good men truly exist, until she meets the one man that changes her perspective, even better its one of the most unlikely of guys. Mixed with a little bit of comedy this Rom Com is definitely chick lit ( lol chick flick but book style).

Zachary is a very successful businessman who is used to getting what he wants. So, when he sets his eyes on Regan, he won’t back down. It is definitely not going to be like a normal boardroom deal. Is he up for the challenge?
Regan has a past that is keeping her from trusting any man. The man she loved committed a horrible crime against her, so she is wary when Zach starts making his move. Can she open herself up again or will she let her past determine her future?
I think the thing I loved most about this book was watching Regan grow. She went through such a traumatic experience that could have beat her down forever. Watching her grow into her new confidence was great to read. This is a series I will definitely continue reading.

Love Between the Lines by A.D. Brazeau is a book from The Page Turners Series. This is a delightful, chicklit, romance story featuring Marlowe Bennet. She is very relatable wanting to just live her life as a writer. The issue is she writes romance and has none in her life. Heath Rochester is a former model and now running his family’s bookstore and he has his sights on Marlowe. Will they or won’t they? You have to read this fun book to get the answer. I really enjoyed the characters and lightness of the story. I really needed a little romantic pick me up and this fit the bill. I look forward to more from this author in the future.

Love Between the Lines is a fantastic lighthearted romance. A.D. Brazeau keeps it light and funny with interactions between Marlowe, Iris, and Lucy, but she also kept this reader on the edge of her seat with the romantic reactions between Marlowe and Heath. This is my first read from this author but i can promise it wont be my last. Love Between the Lines has everything that a girl could ask for in a romance novel, including a trio of tight- knit girlfriends, a couple of perfect guys, beautifully described scenery, and even a couple of plot twists. If you want a funny, sweet, and romantic novel then I highly recommend Love Between the Lines.

I really liked the idea of this story. The model and the writer. The writing flowed nicely and the characters held my interest. The story is relatively low key. My major issue is the friends drama really overpowered the main story. It’s was too much information about them and their predicaments. The girls night would have been good with just touches of Iris and Lucy and keeping the focus on Marlow and Heath. I did enjoy the character of Iris very much. She added some fun to the story.

5 stars!
Wow! Loved this book, the story was short and sweet. I wish I could see more of this couple, and what the future held for them, but by the ending I’m thinking it would be nothing but love and beauty. I was really hurting with Emmy when there were a couple of misunderstandings with Stone and other ladies, and he gets upset by them but I understand her, he is a man whore and she is reluctant to trust him to be with one woman. It is so sweet to see him do a complete turn around when faced with raising a baby, it melted my heart and made me happy to see him want a forever kind of love finally after al the years of playing around. Even though the story was short, all of the info that needed to be there was there and I enjoyed meeting all the characters. I look forward to what is next from this author.

Love Between the Lines by A.D. Brazeau. This is such a fun, cute romance. Its the story of Marlowe Bennet who is a romance writer with no romance in her life. She has become a very successful romance author and along with her 2 best friends, her sister Lucy and Iris her life is pretty content. She loves her 2 cats, her friends, writing her books and not dealing with anything else. She has a very bad case of anxiety. When she happens to meet the handsome Heath Rochester a model for romance novels she is smitten. Heath is ready to stop modeling and start running his family’s bookstore. He has a dream of doing that with Marlowe by his side. Will Marlowe be able to get past her anxiety and let her hair down and enjoy Heath or will she stick to her Hermit ways.

Love Between the Lines by A.Z. Brazeau earns 4 out of 5 stars for me. This was a highly enjoyable, quick read that centers around the burgeoning relationship between protagonist Marlowe Bennet and a book cover model named Heath Rochester. Marlowe is a writer who loves her cats. Heath is a successful model who returns home to take over running his family’s bookstore. The pair, who already have a little bit of history, spark a relationship that is full of enough drama and tension to keep the pages turning. Not only is this story a charming, funny contemporary romance, it also addresses the struggles of mental health maintenance. Marlowe lives with anxiety and attends therapy where she learns realistically helpful strategies. I appreciate every aspect of this story and am glad it is only the first in this series.

Cecily and Andrew have the cards stacked against them. Long distance, rock star and small town girl, rumors, videos, and those horrid people in the www who like to talk bad about others.
Can their relationship as young and new and fresh as it is withstand all the gossip and distance?
Only time will tell.
In this story we also meet Cecily’s grandma and she is a true joy to read about. LOVE that she gets her own chances.

Marlowe is a writer that finds it so much easier to live life at home with her cats. Her sister and her best friend are there for her and that’s all she needs. She’s sworn off of men and love. Who could blame her? Have enough bad relationships and you don’t really want more. Anxiety is so hard to overcome even when a smart, sexy and loyal guy like Heath comes along. A sweet love story that would make any chick flick lover happy!

This book was so much fun to read. The bonus part of it is, it carries a wonderfully done undertone of addressing mental illness and anxiety and the impacts it can have on people and the ones they love. It is not an easy task to take a romance novel and add that mental illness topic and keep it one that will give you all the feels and some laughs while making you feel and relate to topics that are unfortunately not normalized nearly enough. I have not had a chance to read any of AD Brazeau’s works prior to this one, but you bet I will fix that and be devouring her other released novels as soon as possible. This one will be one you can and will probably want to read in a whole sitting and be sad to see it end merely because you have fallen for the characters as if they were real people. I sincerely look forward to seeing if we have or will be getting more books like this from Brazeau in the near future.

Love Between the Lines. Book one of the Page Turners Series
A.D. Brazeau

A.D. Brazeau has quickly become one of my most relatable authors. Her characters struggle with everyday problems that myself and I’m sure all readers can relate to to some extent; anxiety, loss, heartache, resentment, nerves, and doubt. The beautiful thing about this book is that these struggles actually help redeem the characters instead of seeing them as flaws. They build each other up and work on them together, to build trust and growth to be better. While it is a work of fiction, I believe it could actually help some people struggling with similar ailments- her character went to therapy, tried different strategies to get her feelings stable in HEALTHY ways.

Beyond the “self help love” I feel it’s promoting, I adored the plot line of the book itself. I’m a sucker for rekindling love and overcoming previous heartaches, great descriptions of places, scenes, and characters are definitely a plus too! I can’t wait to read more of her series!

When your instantly having to look after your baby niece, will Stone’s life slow down or will he find the woman to save him.

Stone is a Horse trainer and manwhore and is not a shamed of the reputation but when he is thrown into having to look after his sisters baby girl everything changes with his world.

Emmy has returned home to her grandfather’s ranch and has a mega crush on him as soon as she steps on the ranch. After a brief one night stand with Stone there relationship takes a turn as she is his sole help with looking after his sick niece.

This is the first story I have read by this author and I loved the flow of the story and the characters interactions, the only thing I would say is that the story was not long enough to get the full aspects of the chemistry between these two characters. I thought that the Emmy’s character was a brilliant female character with her smart and intelligent personal traits, although I did not have a real connection with Stone’s character I have read a lot of man whore romance books but I could not really get into him until you see the softer side to him and then as I said there was not enough story to redeem himself in the long run.

I would definitely read more books by this author as I enjoyed the flow of the story and can’t wait to read more.

I felt the chemistry between them right from the word go. The sparks just seemed to fly between them. I thought their story was an enjoyable. Two Hearts, One Stone (Boots and Babies) by Leslie Scott

This is the first book I’ve read by Scott, but if she writes like this for all her books then it won’t be my last. Two Hearts, One Stone is a fantastic read. I hope there is more to Stone and Emmy.

Stone Dempsey is the best horse trainer in town. He originally came to town to take care of his sister, but she left him there. She shows up a year later with a sick baby. He rushes to his boss’s house for the Doctor. The quote I chose for Stone is: “There hasn’t been a woman in my bed since the day I met you Emmersyn Cole, and that ain’t because of Maddie. You got under my skin like an itch I can’t scratch. I don’t know how, but I’m going to prove it to you.”

Emmersyn aka Emmy is back in town opening a pediatric clinic. She didn’t think she would find herself falling for the trainer that gets into everyone’s pants. When she sees Stone taking care of his niece she finds herself falling hard. The quote I chose for Emmy is: “No. I’m not. I just don’t want Pop getting his hopes up.”

Highly recommended for Western Romance lovers.
