Magic-Scars (The Crown of Stones, #2)Magic-Scars by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Magic-Scars is the second book in THe Crown of Stones trilogy by C.L. Scheider. I highly recommend reading the first book Magic-Price. That story will fill in the gaps so you have a better understanding of Ian Troy’s story. Schneider effortlessly continues the story with Ian. As the story goes on I am falling in love with Ian. His character has been through so much that I was feeling sorry for him. With everything he went through his magic addiction, in this story he is a prisoner for King Draken of Langor again. He is hopeless and his spirit is broken. He is trying to gain his momentum again. Will Ian get away from King Draken? Will he be able to assume his magic? What will happen to Ian? Alexander has really poured her heart and soul into these stories. Can you imagine coming up with an idea of an adult only park? My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Crown of Stones: Magic- Price is the first book in the Trilogy of The Crown of Stones by C.L. Schneider. This is not my first book by C.L. Schneider. I liked the other series and when I saw this series I knew I had to read it. Schneider has great plot lines with amazing characters. This story has a little of everything- magic, action, war, and adventure. Her characters are complex and fully developed. This particular story is about Ian and his journey. Ian is part of fallen race, Shinree, who has an addiction to magic. Ian was made to serve his masters. He fought in the brutal war and he wanted peace. At the end of the war, Ian moved forward and was running from his involvement in ending the war. Will Ian be able to keep his addiction in check? Love & Omens (Crescent City Ghost Tours Book 2) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Erica Fish

Love & Omens (Crescent City Ghost Tours, #2)Love & Omens by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What would you do if you could see the past? What would you do if you could see the future? In Love and Omens by Carrie Pulkinen the main characters, Sydney and Blake each have one of these gifts. I enjoyed this book but Carrie Pulkinen. Her plot line takes you on a roller coaster ride with emotions. Sydney, for me is relatable. She keeps her pose even though she can see the future of the person she is speaking too. Blake can see the past, which I find interesting because you can get a lot of back knowledge of the person or situation. There is a mystery afoot and Blake and Sydney team together to solve it. Will Blake and Sydney figure out everything in time? Will they rekindle their romance? This is one story you will have to read to find out these answers and much more.,

The Hazed Series Boxed Set by Brittany Tarkington – Review by Erica Fish

The Hazed Series Box SetThe Hazed Series Box Set by Brittany Tarkington
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Hazed Series Books 1-3 by Brittany Tarkington is the first books I have read by this author. I was not sure what to expect but I can tell you that I was blown away. Tarkington plot line follows a tight grip on the reader. The characters are complex and interesting. The subject of the three books is one of obsession and addiction. The series is based on a relationship between Taylor and Hayze. Taylor just received an acceptance letter to the college that is just far away enough to let her feel herself. Taylor has never been so free before, due to her strict father and small town. She applied for a job as a waitress in a local bar and that is where she meets Hayze. This is where the stories get interesting. In book one it was the initial introduction of Taylor and Hazye. Through books 2-3 it is about the relationship of Taylor and Hazye. The relationship has many different characteristics some healthy and some not so healthy. How will Taylor handle being away and on her own? What will become of Taylor and Hazye’s relationship? Will the skeletons come out of the closet or will they remain hidden from one another? Will Taylor and Hazye become a couple? You will have to read these books to find that information out.

Testament of Fears: Book of Judgement Book One by K.H. Jones is my first book by this author. If you like action and fantasy, I highly recommend this book. Jones plot lines are clear and focused. Vampire State by Alexander Charalambides is my first book by this author. Charalambides plot line is engaging. His characters are complex and relatable. Yes, this book is about vampires, but I found this book more than another vampire book. Rowena finds herself in a predicament. Knight Watch (An Alliance Agency Novel Book 1) by Maddie Wade & India Kells – Review by Erica Fish

Knight Watch (An Alliance Agency Novel #1)Knight Watch by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

CONTENT WARNING: This book contains details of sexual assault that some readers may find disturbing. Reader discretion is advised.

Knight Watch is the first book in the An Alliance Agency series by Maddie Wade and India Kells. I love both of these authors separately and now they teamed up to write this novel. Wade and Kells have the story filled with mystery and romance at the same time. There was a content warning which I placed first in this review. I have to say that I am very sensitive to this subject matter but the way Wade and Kells told the story was tasteful and respectful. This story is about Kinsley Knight is in America and is put in charge of his first case. Sydney Rutherford had been assaulted in her past and her past is coming back to haunt her more now than ever. Knight and Rutherford are at odds until Rutherford realizes she is in good hands with Knight. Will Knight be able to keep Rutherford safe? With Rutherford be able to trust Knight to safe her future? I cannot wait to see what Wade and Kells has in store for us next.

They are complex complicated characters whose life is about to turn about. The Rise of House Valdis (House Valdis #1)The Rise of House Valdis by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Naomi Valkyrie has hit a home run with The Rise of House Valdis (House Valdis book 1). This story has a little bit of mystery, fantasy, sci-fi, actions and danger. Once I started reading, I knew I was going to have to complete the book. Valkyrie ties her characters and the plot line very well. The characters are multidimensional and the plot keeps you on your toes. Story is about Xen and her ability to have a second chance on earth. Xen best friend is Maggie, who is the only one who knows what Xen really is. Xen had to make a decision which can cause a problem. Deadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover NovelDeadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover Novel by Maddie Wade
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have read both of these authors before and liked them when they wrote books alone. For me when both these authors were on Deadly Alliance I jumped at the chance to read them both with one story. There are two agencies Fortis and Purgatory who offer covert services with their highly qualified operatives. Shane Rhodes is one of the operatives. He is a former Navy Seal who has had a lot of tragedies in his past, but he takes the murder of his best friend’s little sister personally. Emme is young but is working with Shane. They both are looking for revenge. Will there be barriers to keep them at bay? Will Shane’s and Emme’s skills be able to take out the threat? I highly recommend this story.

RicochetRicochet by Kathryn Berla
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ricochet by Kathryn Berla is a must read for those who likes YA science fiction stories. Berla grabbed at the very beginning of the story. The story encompasses mystery, science fiction, adventure, and some interesting characters. This book is told in different POV and the transitions between them are smooth and not choppy. This story is about Tati who sent a saliva sample to a DNA ancestry testing site. From that moment Tati’s world is turned upside down. Will Tati get to the bottom of her DNA information? What does Ricochet mean to Tati? I highly recommend this book.

Evergreen by Mya O’Malley – Review by Erica Fish

EvergreenEvergreen by Mya O’Malley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mya O’Malley knows how to tug on the heart string with Evergreen. Mya O’Malley’s does a great job with her characters in this book. She gives the animals a voice which is a great idea for a Contemporary Romance story. The story is a simple one but it is a “warm cuddly” book to snuggle up to a warm fire and read with your best canine friend. June is a “rich girl” who has a passion for animals. She has decided that she will live with her perfect canine to live with for all her days. That is when she meets Maxine, the Great Dane. It appears as if Maxine is working her charms to get Graham (her best friend) together with June. Will it be that simple that a Great Dane will get these two people together? Will there be obstacles that may keep Graham and June apart?

All Reid wants is to get back to his wife and young child. Reid just wants to be a normal family but that my friends is where the plot thickens. Draigon Weather (The Legacies of Arnan Book 1) by Paige L. Christie – Review by Erica Fish

Draigon Weather (The Legacies of Arnan, #1)Draigon Weather by Paige L. Christie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Draigon Weather is the first book in The Legacies of Arnan series by Paige L Christie. This story took my mind to a different plane. This story is about Leiel and Cleod. Leiel is a marked woman and according to the town she is a tainted woman. She will be marked when Draigon Weather returns. Cleod is a friend of Leiel. Cleod is in a higher class and was able to join the Ehlewer Enclave. Cleod and Leiel are from different paths of society. Cleod vowed to avenge Leiel’s mother but will he be able to keep is vow to Leiel and the Ehlewer Enclave? Leiel is seeking knowledge that could have killed her mother. Will Leiel share the same fate?

Paige Christie is a mastermind story teller. This story is a coming of age story which fits in with the YA genre. The plot is magical and keeps going in directions that threw around a bend I did not see coming. This story is also told in two different POVs. Christie does this effortlessly and was able to follow along with the characters and their stories. I highly recommend this story to anyone who loves fantasy stories. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

Hidden Tracks by Zoe Lee is a romantic story about Astrid and Seth. One thing about Zoe Lee’s writing that I appreciate is her characters in her story. Hope (Feisty Lawyers Series Book 4) by Seelie Kay – Review by Erica Fish

HopeHope by Seelie Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Seelie Kay is an author that I highly recommend if you like suspense stories. Hope is the fourth book in the Feisty Lawyers series. If you have not read the first three books, I would recommend you read them to get the most enjoyment out of Hope. One thing that Seelie Kay that I love is I am head over heels before the end of the first paragraph. She grabs me and I cannot stop reading until the end of the book. For that reason, I highly suggest you leave enough time so that you can read the book in one sitting. The characters are fully developed and the plot keeps you going because you want to know what is going to happen next. It is said that only those who have been broken and hit rock bottom knows the strength that it takes to pull themselves out. Hope is that person. She wanted to join “the Agency” which is the organization of her dreams. “The Agency” is an elite group of attorneys who will go undercover to “right wrongs” the law can’t. There is one problem with her becoming apart of “the Agency” someone wants her to lose hope. Will Hope lose hope or will Hope rise above all? Will her past come to get her? I highly recommend reading if you want the answers to this mystery.

Hang On To Your Shirt Tails (Chasing Tails Book 2)Hang On To Your Shirt Tails by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hang On To Your Shirt Tails by C. A. King is a must read. I highly recommend reading the first book in the series because then you will get the story of Tails and Brodie. C. A. King is an amazing author who writes awesome supernatural thrillers. She has this ability of pulling me in as the reader into her world and keeping me there with all the twists and turns that happen in the story will keep you reading. There is a tendency for me to turn the pages to fast and miss the last sentence on the page. We see Tails and Brodie who took themselves and their adopted children away from the group and live in isolation. They believe that they will be better off this way, but will they? Can they just walk away from the “club”? Can it be this simple?

Higher Elevation Series: Books 1-3 by Renee Regent – Review by Erica Fish

Higher Elevation Series : Books 1-3Higher Elevation Series : Books 1-3 by Renee Regent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Higher Elevation Series consists of three books: Unexplained, Untouched, and Undeniable by Renee Regent. I love this series. It was great being able to read all three books right in a row merely hours in between them. Renee Regent has the ability of grabbing me from the first page until the last page. The only problem is that I could not put this series down until I was done with it. The stories all have this vibe that I could have been right there with the characters. It was a fast read but I caution you to make sure you see every clue or else you may find yourself going back and rereading passages that you missed. Each one of the books has amazing characters that seem to draw the wrong kind of attention to themselves. There are mysteries and action in each book as well. I really like the characters Renee Regent put together. Their interaction is important and believable in their stories. I feel as if I have new book friends that I can see what they are thinking before I read it in the book. Overall I would have to give this series 5+ starts and highly recommend reading this series. The only caution I will give you is to make sure you have enough time to read each book from the first sentence to the last sentence in each book.

Diamonds & Deception (Karina Cardinal Mystery, #3)Diamonds & Deception by Ellen Butler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Diamonds & Deception is the third book in the Karina Cardinal series by Ellen Butler. Let me just say Ellen Butler you know how to grab a reader and keep them engaged throughout the entire book. I would recommend reading the first two books so you will get to know Karina and become her book friend. Karina has a knack for getting into a tight spot. Being a mystery genre, I knew there were roller coaster rides but some of the twists and turns really dropped my jaw a couple of times. Will Karina be able to help the investigation? Will she be able to team up with her sister to solve this mystery or will she have to call in Mike to help her again? There are no hints here. You have to read the book to find out for yourself.
