Mouse Trapped: Satan’s Devils MC #9 by Manda Mellett – Review by Erica Fish

Mouse Trapped: Satan's Devils MC #9Mouse Trapped: Satan’s Devils MC #9 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mouse Trapped by Manda Mellett is the ninth book in the Satan’s Devils series. This can be a stand-alone story. This story is about Tse (aka Mouse) and Mariana. I have read several of Manda Mellett’s Satan’s Deviles series and with each one I find myself inside the story just hovering above the action. The details of what is happening with the characters and the story is always fresh story. There is a great amount of talent to write these stories. In this story Ms. Mellett’s character Mouse is part Native American which I found interesting to read. Mariana is in trouble and Mouse is trying to decide if he should help or stand back. Is there more of a bond between Mouse and Mariana that Mouse wants to admit? Will Mariana be able to defend herself? You will have to read this story to get those answers.

Climbing the Walls (Hart & Cole Book 1) by Sacha T.Y. Fortune – Review by Erica Fish

Climbing The Walls (Hart & Cole Book 1)Climbing The Walls by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“‘Climbing The Wall’ explores the fibres that hold a marriage together – love, trust, forgiveness… and of course, the earth-shattering sex that will not be denied.” Sacha T.Y. Fortune

Climbing the Walls by Sacha T.Y. Fortune is her debut book. This story is a woman’s fiction story which deals with marriage and self-awareness, and everything in between. Sacha T.Y. Fortune did an amazing job with her characters in the story. The emotional roller coaster that you ride from Ms. Fortune with the character of Nicole keeps you turning the pages to see what else Nicole will have to overcome. This is what kept me reading. You will have to read to see how Nicole deals with her life. Make sure you have Kleenex and adequate time to read in one sitting. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next chapter.

Degrees of Control (A Prestian Series Book 3) By Via Mari – Review by Erica Fish

Degrees of Control (Prestian Series, #3)Degrees of Control by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Degrees of Control by Via Mari is the third book in the Prestian Series. This is not a stand-alone story and you will be a little confused without reading the previous stories. I have enjoyed how Via Mari can keep my interest in the story. She does have fully developed characters that I have grown to love. This story continues where Chase asked Katarina to marry him and she turned him down. Now that seems harsh because she does love Chase but doesn’t want Chase to get hurt. The story goes on from this one point into an amazing mystery/thriller/romance all in one. I am not going to go on because I do not want spoilers in my review. Will Chase and Katarina have a happy ending? Will there be more heart ache in store for Chase and Katarina? You have to read this book to find out the answers to these questions.

Caught in Make-Believe (The Caught Series Book 3) by Sharleen Scott – Review by Erica Fish

Caught in Make-Believe (The Caught Series Book 3)Caught in Make-Believe by Sharleen Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Caught in Make-Believe is the third book in the Caught Series by Sharleen Scott. Even though this is the third book you can read it as a stand-alone. There will be character references that you may want to go and read the other two books, having said that it should not distract from the story. This story is a romance mystery, thriller, about having a second chance, and a new meaning to the same story. I found myself reading quickly through one part to get to the next scene, only to find out to go back and reread some part because there was a twist when I thought it was going to be a turn. This story is about Samantha who is the manager of Sweet Stuff bakery. She is a wonderful character that I would consider a great friend. At times she is that person who is optimistic all the time. She is fighting a bad break up of a engagement with a cheating fiancé. She finds herself getting close to Jace who was a reporter who has been away for five years. He is ready to put his skeletons away and try this thing called life. You will have to read what has happened with Jace and Samantha’s story. It is an intriguing read all the way around.

Burning Night: where the ashes of the past awaken the future By Nikki Broadwell – Review By Erica Fish

Burning Night: where the ashes of the past awaken the futureBurning Night: where the ashes of the past awaken the future by Nikki Broadwell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Burning Night by Nikki Broadwell is a story of fiction but in reality could very well be truth on some levels. This is a great story and I would recommend reading it. The characters are fully developed and can easily be a friend, neighbor, or yourself on some level. This story is about an abusive relationship. If you are like me, I found it difficult at times due to the fact it reminded me so much of what has been within my social/family circle. One thing I really enjoyed with Nikki Broadwell is that she did not let the abuse ruin Collie’s life. She decided to make Collie a force to be dealt with and not a victim in the corner. Collie is on journey of self-discovery. She will have to decide how to proceed with her life. This story does have its ups and downs, twists and turns, and full of emotions. You will have to read if Collie can get past her demons. I cannot wait to read more books from Nikki Broadwell.

Isabella’s Painting: A Notorious Art Heist Mystery (Karina Cardinal Mystery Book 1) by Ellen Butler – Review by Erica Fish

Isabella's Painting (Karina Cardinal Mystery #1)Isabella’s Painting by Ellen Butler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Isabella’s Painting is a magnificent mystery/thriller book by Ellen Butler. Butler has done her research when it comes to the underground black market of stolen items. This story gripped me from the very first paragraph until the last word. Butler has twists and turns that made me turn the page quickly and then there were ones that I was hesitant to turn. Butler has fully developed characters that I felt like I could be there in the story with them. This story is about Karina and what she sees and hears by accident. There was a heist of paintings from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Karina believes she has seen one and overhears about the painting as well. She is not sure who she can trust. Will Karina get help with what she saw or will she turn the other way? Does she understand what she has gotten herself into?

Nathaniel (Dragon Hearts #1) by Carole Mortimer – Review by Erica Fish

Nathaniel (Dragon Hearts #1)Nathaniel by Carole Mortimer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nathaniel by Carole Mortimer is book one in her series Dragon Hearts. This will be a great new series for Dragon paranormal books. Her story line gripped me and had me going through the roller coaster ride. It is a light hearted story which makes it a fast read. Carole Mortimer did an amazing job of introducing the characters. Even though there was not a depth to all the characters but Nathaniel and Chloe was the focus . Nathaniel is in a castle that is not on a map anywhere with a total of 5 males. Chloe is a journalist who is a strong independent woman who is not afraid to go after her story. Chloe knows there is a story with the guys living in this castle but will she get the story is another question. Will Nathaniel open himself and the secrets that go with him and the castle? One will have to read to find out.

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria F. DeBlassie – Review by Erica Fish

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily ConjuringsEveryday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria F DeBlassie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I chose to read Everyday Enchantments because I was looking for a little magic in my life. Everyday Enchantments by Maria F. DeBlassie is a collection of stories like Chicken Soup for the Soul books. However, I enjoyed reading Everyday Enchantments over any Chicken Soul book. There is magic all around us, we just need to open our eyes to look for it. I did not rush through this book to find an action pack, fist thumping, or a cliffhanger book, but instead I found a story to lift your spirits through the little stories. It is a difficult world that we are in and the little things are often missed. This is a book to remind you to stop and notice the little things again.

My Free LifeMy Free Life by Necie Navone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Necie Navone is going to be an author to follow as she did an AMAZING job with this series. She understood the way the Italian Family works. Her characters are real and believable. It is like Alssandra could be a best friend. This story is a fast, action packed, and mystery rolled into a three-book series.

Courage (The Sisterhood Series) by Chelsi Arnold – Review by Erica Fish

Courage (The Sisterhood Series #2)Courage by Chelsi Arnold
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Courage is the second book in the Sisterhood Series by Chelsi Arnold. Chelsi Arnold is a book about a beautiful sisterhood in the greatest military in the world, the Navy and even more specific Navy Seals. Ms. Arnold lets you into a world that has a heavy bond with family members and “family members” within the branch of the Navy Seals. One of the main reason I chose to read this series is to feel the bond of the army forces as I am a daughter of a retire Army Soldier. There is a code that no one is ever left behind. Brave the first book and this book Courage is well written with the family of the Armed Forces. There is an event from the last mission that the Sisterhood wants to go on. Should the Sisterhood go on the mission so soon or should they step back and heal? You will enjoy this book and will understand the military family a little more.

Embattled Hearts (Military Romance Suspense) (Lost and Found Book 1) by J. M. Madden – Review by Erica Fish

Embattled Hearts (Lost and Found, #1)Embattled Hearts by J.M. Madden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Embattled Hearts by J. M. Madden has an excellent understanding of a “broken” military soul. She has fully developed characters and a great story line. I love her approach with service members coming home who are injured in the line of duty. This is a hard concept at times because unless you live it you will not understand. In Embattled Hearts it goes one step further. Here is a John, a wounded hero who lost the use of his legs and it a wheel chair. He feels like a broken man and no one will want him. In comes Shannon who is not looking for a relationship who just happens to work with John. She has some back story, which comes back to haunt her with a stalker. John and Shannon both are fighting feelings that they have for one another. They both think that they cannot be the person the other one wants. When John decides that he will move in with Shannon to protect her from the stalker is when their feelings come out. Will John ever feel good enough for Shannon? Will Shannon let down her guard and let John in? You will have to read the story to see the exciting conclusion of this story.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Forgetting Ophelia by Julie C. Gardner is my first book by this author. I enjoyed this author. She can spin a great story. The characters are realistic and feel like the story could happen right in my own backyard. Lia is a strong female character who could very well be my friend. I laughed, I cried, and got mad at Lia. Lia’s husband, Jake up and walked out on her. Through some trouble with her friend that makes Jake and Lia work together again. Will Lia move forward with her life or should she go back to Jake? Reading this story will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride. It is a ride you will enjoy being on as well.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Player is the first book in the 21st Century Courtesan series and what an amazing story it is. This is my first book aby Pamela DuMond and I love her writing style. She has a very descriptive writing style. She draws you into the story with the character story line. The main character in the story is Evie. Evie is a special escort who is also an empath. She has that talent to really help the men who hired her. She is getting ready to retire but she has two more clients to see for the last time. With that in mind she is starting to feel there is something wrong and she cannot shake that feeling. Will one of her last clients be her very last client or will the client be healed by her service?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Degrees of Acceptance is the second book in the Prestian Series. With that in mind, I would highly recommend reading Degrees of Innocence the Book 1. I enjoy Via Mari’s writing style. She is very detail oriented. I can imagine I am right next to the characters in the book. The journey with Katarina and Chase is an interesting journey. I must admit that I am not into erotica and at times I had to skip over a couple of paragraphs, but I still enjoyed the story. I cannot wait to read the next installment of this series.

My Tragic Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel (My Life Series Book 2)My Tragic Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel by Necie Navone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My Tragic Life is the second book in the Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone. I would highly recommend reading the first book as you will enjoy this book even more. Necie is an amazing author that keeps the story moving and sometimes throws a curve ball in the action. It is an addicting read so make sure you have time to read it in one sitting. The story is about the Alessandra and her role as the princess of the Italian Mob family. There was an incident when she was 6 and that is when her life changed. Her father became more neurotic and started to get Alessandra trained. She had started to train at the age of 8 by her uncle. She keeps training for the simple reason of becoming a bad ass. In public she is a Princess, but om reality she is a fierce bad ass getting ready to become the Queen of the Italian Family. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for Alessandra.

Hope’s Decree (The Fated Book 1) By Angela McPherson – Review by Erica Fish

Hope's Decree (The Fated #1)Hope’s Decree by Angela McPherson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hope’s Decree by Angela McPherson was a unique book. I enjoyed the storyline as it seemed to go fast. I was reading the story and the next thing I knew It was over. I will say that I didn’t realize that I was going to read it all in one sitting. I would prepare to read this in one sitting. The characters were fully developed. Hope is an empath. She was having a difficult time with all the people’s emotions around her. She is a high school senior trying to make the best year of her life when she realizes what is going on. One cool aspect of Hope is that she is a descendant of Pandora. I can only imagine what that must have been like. One of the setbacks, is that everyone is trying to find you. All the twists and turns are so worth reading this book because you will be amazed at what Hope is capable of in this world.

Savannah’s Saviors (The Cowboys of Cavern County Book 5) by Bella Settarra – Review by Erica Fish

Savannah's Saviors (Cowboys of Cavern County, #5)Savannah’s Saviors by Bella Settarra
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Savannah’s Saviors by Bella Settarra is the fifth book in the series The Cowboys of Cavern County. Now saying it is the fifth book, this can be a stand-alone book. Bella Settarra’s vivid descriptive writing style allowed me to think I am in the story with Savannah. It is like I was there looking over Bella’s shoulder. She writes about a difficult situation and you can feel that in her writing. This is a contemporary western romance book, but at the beginning it was about Bella and what has happened to her. Bella meets Tom and Greg on a really bad night. She is having issues of trust and abusive relationship and she does not want that out in the open just yet. Will Bella be able to trust Tom and Greg? Will Tom and Greg trust Bella? You can find the answers in the story.

Can't Forget (Solum, #2)Can’t Forget by Colleen S. Myers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Can’t Forget is the second book in the Solum series by Colleen S. Meyers and it just as action packed as Must Remember (book 1). This book has a lot of bumps and curves. I was reading along and then out of nowhere there was a sharp turn that I did not see coming at me. Beta (Elizabeth) is on a mission. She wants to go after E’Mani, the one who kidnapped her. Beta reminds me of a strong willed young version of myself. I love the books were I can relate to the main character and feel like we are one together. What will the future holds? I personally cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Mad About Matt (A Red Maple Falls Novel, #1) by Theresa Paolo – Review by Erica Fish

Mad About Matt (Red Maple Falls #1)Mad About Matt by Theresa Paolo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mad About Matt is a second chance romance book. I found that some of the content was not for me personally, but I can understand how this content would be for someone else. Theresa Paolo did write an interesting story. Her characters are lovable, and the town is small town USA. Besides being a romance book, there is a mystery about the town. I did like this story as I love the story line and the plot. Just some of the intimate details was a little too much for me.

Matt loved Shay when they were in high school. Then as the story goes his high school sweetheart Shay came back from NYC. Shay has opened a bakery in Red Maple Falls and she has been the victim of several break-ins. She is worried that someone has followed her from NYC. She does not want to press charges and Matt (now sheriff) does not understand why.

Never Let Me Fall (Fatal Dreams Book 3) by Abbie Roads – Review by Erica Fish

Never Let Me Fall (Fatal Dreams, #3)Never Let Me Fall by Abbie Roads
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Never Let Me Fall by Abbie Roads is an excellent book. The whole Fatal Dreams series is an excellent group of books that you will like to read. This book can be a standalone story but would be beneficial to read the other stories. The tone of the story is a suspense, action, mystery which allows the story to move along more quickly. I was nail biting through parts of the story and wanting to close my eyes at other parts (which is hard to do when you are reading the story). This story is about Thomas and Helena. This is an interesting story as Thomas can only see in black and white, but Thomas can see the human soul (in my opinion an awesome gift). Helena has been in prison for the last 10 years being convicted of murdering her boyfriend. Now Helena has said from the beginning that she was innocent of that crime. Now the paths of Helena and Thomas have been cross and there will be answers to the questions, but will they be able to trust each other is another question that needs to be answered. Will their relationship keep going strong or will fail? You will find that answer when you read this book.

Tomb for an Eagle (Orkneyinga Murders Book 1) by Lexie Conyngham – Review by Erica Fish

Tomb for an Eagle (Orkneyinga Murders, #1)Tomb for an Eagle by Lexie Conyngham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first story by Lexie Conyngham and let me tell you that she is amazing. I was very interested in this story because of the cover of the book. (Who does not love an intriguing book covers?) Ms. Conyngham’s writing style was very descriptive which made it easy to see in my mind’s eye easier. From the first couple of paragraphs to the last word of the book I was hooked. I knew it was going to be an all-day book read. The characters were like old friends that I went to visited for the day. The flow through the story was a nice pace. On the other hand, I did need to pay attention as this is a murder mystery book. Clues are out in the open but can be over looked easily. There are loopy loops and twists and turns around every corner. This story in on the Norse Lands and the characters having traditional names which is worth reading the book for that content alone. I would highly recommend reading this book. I personally cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Lauren has caught the eye of a serial killer. There are several strong-arm guys within Fortis but Dane is playing this one close to his chest. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Credence Woods by Alexandria Sure is a new age romance story. Ms. Sure has a great talent for pulling me into the story, but I have to say it took a little longer than my previous books. One big reason is that I can relate to Kennedy more than I want to admit. Kennedy was a wall flower. She was overweight and she kept to herself so that she could focus on her career. She is a workaholic and she hasn’t been vacation in a long time. She ends up going to Tennessee and that is where we would say she had an epiphany. She meets someone special and now she does not know what to do. . Kennedy needs to figure out what she wants and needs. Will she go back to her lifestyle or will she stay in Tennessee? You will have to read the book to find out.

Ms. King has an amazing attention to detail that you will picture everything in your head. I can imagine the characters living right next to me. They are fully developed with in the story you see the characters grow that much more. There are so many curves and loopy-loops which make the story even better. This story is about Caitlin and her friends and holding a “little” get together at her Aunt’s house. The journey is one of discovery and magic. By the end of the story will you believe in magic? Ms. Filler did not hold back and punches with The Raven Group. Luke was planning some R&R for Samaar/Luci and himself on some remote little island where they can get some R&R and some romance as well. Guess who plans got postponed! That’s right The Raven Group. They are on case to find a missing teenage girl. This will be a great case for them because it has corruption written all of over it. With Ms. Filler’s book they get better and better. This one was off the charts. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for The Raven Group next.

The Nearness of You by K.G. Fletcher is a beautiful story. I have read several books by KG Fletcher and with every one of the stories I am loving her more and more. Her writing style is fresh as well as challenging the characters in her books. This particular story takes a lounge singer who has a chance encounter with a British male super model. David, the model, just happens to be at the hotel for his sister’s nuptials and asks Lauren Rose to the ceremony. From that moment shaped the story. It takes you through the trials and tribulations. It is a well thought out story. I really enjoyed this story.

Love, Christmas-Movies You Love (The Holiday Series Book 2) Anthology – Review by Erica Fish

Love, Christmas - Movies You Love (The Holiday Series Book 2)Love, Christmas – Movies You Love by Mimi Barbour
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This anthology Love, Christmas-Movies You Love is a collections of Christmas stories. These stories are based on Christmas movies with twists. The stories are not in a series and can be stand-alone books. This is a fun collection you can enjoy reading the stories that stand out to you and then go back and read the other stories. One thing that I really enjoyed was the variety of stories. There weren’t only romance theme stories, but family theme stories as well. I recommend this anthology especially if you like Christmas Movies told with a different twist.

Truly Unfortunate (Welcome to Knollville Book 1) by C.A. King – Review by Erica Fish

Truly Unfortunate (Welcome To Knollville Book 1)Truly Unfortunate by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well C. A. King you got me again with this story. Once I started I could not put it down. Warning this is a highly addictive author. She grabs you with the first couple of sentences and leaves you wanting more with the last sentence. Ms. King spins a great yarn with her stories. From the descriptions of the scenery to the characters and the roles they play, she really has the reader’s attention, but if you are not careful you may miss one small detail and then there is that curve ball and you will want to go back and see where you may have missed it. This story is a dark fantasy book. The main character is a young woman, Truly who does not have any memories of her childhood. She desperately needs to find out because there are a lot horrid acts happening around her. There is a new doctor and some of the memories are returning but Truly is having issues with some of them (for a really good reason). Jeff the sheriff in town is helping Truly but will that be enough? Will he have problems with the memories? You will have to read the story to find out the answers. I cannot wait to see what the next story has for us.

The Fifth Knight: An Arthurian Legend Reverse Harem Romance (The Knights of Caerleon Series Book 1) by Claire Luana and Jesikah Sundin – Review by Erica Fish

The Fifth Knight (The Knights of Caerleon #1)The Fifth Knight by Jesikah Sundin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a story that Claire Luana and Jesikah Sundin has written!!! The Fifth Knight is in the fantasy genre. There are a couple of familiar names in this story, Arthur, Lancelot, Percivial, and Merlin. These men were waiting for the “fifth knight” that Merlin predicted but they did not except a woman name Fionna. She is a fierce warrior. Fionna is also a independent and stubborn woman. I think that they three personalities go together. She is there to steal a faerie sword from the king. Fionna is conflicted about what she is about to do to help her family. This story is very well written and Claire and Jesikah is perfecting the story line with the other books in this series.
