The author created a military-romance that is true to life and the characters are connectable and lovable. The way she protrade PTSD was great and understandable. This story is about John a character that is angry, bitter but didn’t see Shannon coming who is caring, charming. There seems to be an attraction right from the beginning but John doesn’t feel that he is good enough for her. Will he overcome his insecurities to let Shannon in? I highly recommend this book.

The story Little Heaven: A Novel by Nick Cutter is a horror/supernatural book. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final chapter. It is a book that had me on the edge of my seat and chills running up and down my spine. The story is one of what happens when Ellen Bellhaven hires three mercenaries to take her to Little Heaven. She wants to check on her nephew as she suspects that he has been taken there against his will. It is a compound where those who live there could be regarded as a religious cult. What happens when they get there will have you turning pages wondering what is going to happen next. What is the truth behind what is going on at Little Heaven? Why does the compound start to feel wrong to those who live there? Are there outside forces at work and if so, what do they want? How will it all end and who will survive? Read this story to find out. The main characters in this novel are not model citizens. Trust between them at times is lacking or non-existent. As the story progresses, I grew to understand and enjoy reading about them. There are also many additional characters that are interesting and intriguing. I enjoyed reading how they fit into the story and their interactions with the main characters. Danger is one thing that is a constant in Little Heaven and escape may not be possible as the routes out are cut off. The story has moments of suspense that had me telling myself to breathe. If you love the horror/supernatural genre this is a book you do not want to miss out on. Highly recommended.

Degrees of Control (A Prestian Series Book 3) By Via Mari I am in love with this series!! You really need to read the first two books in this series before reading this one because this one picks up where the other one leaves off and you will need to get the full picture of Kat’s and Chase’s relationship to truly understand what’s going on. This story is full of action, danger, and of course steamy moments. As their story continues we get to watch these characters grow and see where their relationship goes. Can Kat learn to trust Chase? You will need to read this amazing story to find this out and more. I won’t give anything away but I will tell you that there’s an unexpected twist that you won’t want to miss. The author does a wonderful job pulling you into the story and making you feel like you’re along for the ride, I couldn’t put this book down as soon as I started reading, it’s that good!!! I highly recommend this book.

Katarina Meilers is still head strong in her fight for trust. She loves Chase, but now it has come down to. Does she trust him as well as believe in him? She must decide as she is supposed to be engaged to him.
Chase Prestian loves Katarina, this is true. But he needs and wants to keep the ugly that is his job, from her. The inner fight is on, and choices need to be made. Does he push her away, or draw her in. She is safer out of his life. But he needs her in his life. Oh then there is the trouble coming their way.
Via Mari has done it again! Book 3 has even more in it. The rollercoaster ride you will take, will keep you turning those pages. The characters are amazing and fun loving, and the loving is steamy. I only wanted to throw my tablet a few times. Along with the tears. So have the wine, chocolate and tissues close by. Via Mari I look forward to the next book. As I know this story is not over yet. Nathaniel (Dragon Hearts 1) By Carole Mortimer Four Stars
Chloe is after a story and boy does she find one. I love reading books about worlds unknown. You get to dive into some else’s world and live through their imagination. Nathaniel has so many responsibilities. I liked how the author brought the characters together. I also enjoyed all the details the author put into the story. They were so many good moments. I went in to this story unsure, but the synopsis had me curious so had to give it a try. It happened in the first chapter…I was hooked. It didn’t take long to fall in love with the writing style of this author and I could not put this book down. It was fast moving and kept my attention throughout.
This is a new author to me and I can not wait for the 2nd of this series and am so excited to find out who the next story will be about, I have a feeling who it might be but then afraid that is too obvious lol
I love the story that is building and am really afraid of the future and what is still to come for these people of the Resistance, I don’t normally read dystopian novels because they are sometimes way out there or hard to imagine but recently I’ve read a couple, this one included where it feels a little more real and is a bit scary yet so fascinating I can’t stop reading. The way the flashbacks were done was simply spot on, this is something I normally do not enjoy but in this one it worked perfectly. Hunter and Rain were amazing characters that I fell in love with immediately and the secondary characters have me completely hooked so can not wait for each of them to get their own story.
This was an awesome read and I was able to read it in one sitting and I highly recommend it!

Mad About Matt (Red Maple Falls #1) by Theresa Paolo was a okay read that, for me, was a little bit of a mixed of love, hate, slow burn, turned WTF to, okay will that escalated quickly. I have to say I’m a little mixed, there is good, there is ugly, and there is, sad to say some bad.
This is a first time read for me from this author, so as always I go in with a open mind, and at the start everything was going pretty good. The writing is engaging, it has a nice rhythm and it flowed nicely from one scene to the next. As for plot, it wasn’t anything new, I mean I have read similar ones before. But all have their own quirks and charm that makes you keep coming back. This book is no different. The fictional town of Red Maple is right out of a hallmark TV movie, sweet, country and all the shops seem to being doing well. I liked that feel, it set the stage, and it was familiar. So very easy to form a picture, even if there wasn’t as much detail on the town itself.
Now, as for why I have very mixed feels. As a romance, it in itself was a little all over the place. It’s a slow burn, but with the MC’s already knowing one another, and had previously date as teens. It was a summer loving type deal (Did Grease pop into your head?… ahhaha) They parted, Matt was heartbroken, never got over it, blamed every failed relationship on it, and so on. Shay’s story follows pretty much the same. This wasn’t a problem for me, I like these second chance romances, cheese and all. It was the way they both acted. For people in their 30’s they were damn immature (I’m in that zone, so yes I can judge.)
Shay, I wasn’t a fan, she portrayed a tough girl persona, but cracked under pressure. She failed at knowing when you should call for help, ask for help, and simply not growing a set and talking to Matt. Two years she was back, and neither one made the attempt to reconnect, instead they pined and wished they would. Both could fill the ocean with their excuses. Matt also was, wow, he had a big character shift half way through, and I don’t know how I feel about that. It was so out of his, build up character, that I was taken back and a little mad.
Things do work themselves out, and they run off into the sunset. I know it seems like I’m harping, but those things stood out to me. Not all is on the down side. The story itself isn’t bad, it has great conversation, witty banter and it hooks you right away. This book, is a little rough around the edges but it reads well and as I said it keeps you engaged and entertained. And frankly, isn’t that what we want from a story? So don’t get discouraged, give this book a shot, you might like everything I didn’t.
With that being said, I give this book my recommendation and my stamp of approval.

This is the first book I have read from this author and now she has a new fan. I love a good suspense romance but this author exceeded all my expectations. This is the first book of the Thick as Thieves series and it was a perfect book to start a new series with. I was hooked on this book at the first chapter. I could not help but to fall in love with these characters. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story.
Tru has been a thief for a while now. She is on her last heist. Tru is so excited to start her new life. She just needs money to make sure she can get what she wants. Tru is getting close to what she wants and then the man she hates walks into her life again. She has not seen her ex husband in years and he still looks good. Her ex husband is now security to the man she is trying to steal from. Tru knows his games and she is not going to fall for it this time. When she finds out the true reason why her ex Will is there she knows that their can be danger. Tru and Will get to know eachother again and sparks start to fly. Will Tru and Will get what they need or will they put themselves into danger they can’t get out of?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, suspense, and mystery. You will fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. Tru is a very independent woman that is afraid of getting hurt again. She just wants a family and someone to love her. Will is a beautiful man that is really smart. The way he cares for Tru will make you swoon. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will have you at the edge of your seat until the end. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.

Elegantly Demin by Tee Smith a four-star read that you will enjoy. This is a prequel to the elegant series, and it shows promise for a good series. It is quick and easy to read, but there is a lot to get through in such a short number of pages, it shows promise for the series but as a stand-alone it’s a little lost. Demin is certainly someone I want to hear more about and from, and I cant wait to read more from this series.

This story is full of mystery, adventure and hot sex. And there is going to be more! More mysteries, more adventures and more hot sex!
This story had me hooked from the beginning. Sassy, brave and determined is how Mortimer introduces Chloe to us. She is alone for the most part. She has acquaintances but no real true friends and no family. She out looking for a story and finds so much more.
Nathaniel is living in the Pendragon Castle with his brothers, just trying to be happy. They run a security company with each brother having a spot on the team. There are legends and folklore surrounding the brothers and their family that dates back hundreds of years. Nathaniel learns that one just might be true. Now he just needs to find the answers he is looking for.
This book is a quick and easy read. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author and about these band of brothers.
Five Star I enjoyed reading this story. The characters were different. The characters represented at a time when people decided to stick up for themselves. The resistance represented people that wanted to change that needed to see a change and that were willing to put their lives on the line to see that change happen. I got in my feelings over Hunter because the way his dad treated him he was so strict he was always beating him down. I understood what he was going for though he wanted his son to realize that strength is finding something to fight for that strength was something other than yourself to live for. Rain was a special character for me because she went out of her safety zone to save Hunter she was so brave and kind and gentle and loving and she’s a Fighter.

Never Let Me Fall by Abbie Roads is the third book in the fatal dreams series. This book can be read as a stand-alone although I will personally be going back to catch up on what I have missed! This book caught my attention from the moment I read the blurb. I was intrigued by Thomas and his “inability” to see colour. I wanted to see how this would shape his work and his life. And when Helena is introduced it really adds more definition to the whole story. This is a new author for me and I loved how easily she captured my interest and also how easily she held it throughout the whole book. This was an interesting and unique story that I throughly enjoyed.

Nathaniel by Carole Mortimer is the first book in the Dragon Hearts series. This book perfectly sets up what is clearly going to be a very enjoyable series. Chloe never expects to find a story in the middle of her holiday to Wales. But once she realises there is one surrounding the cattle and it’s inhabitants then she knows she can’t leave until she has all the details. Although a shorter story than I expected this book sure knows how to grab your attention. The chemistry between the two main characters was absolutely sizzling hot. I thought the author did very well to get so much detail into this book and it clearly really sets the premise for the rest of the series. I am looking forward to seeing what is next.
This was a different take on the ‘self-help’ novel approach. I found it to be quite meditative. Everyday Enchantments encourages the reader to take our simplest of mundane tasks, the ones that often drag us through the dirt the most, and teaches one to find the pleasures in it. Simply stopping and smelling the roses a bit more. Too often we get swept up in life. We wake up, do the chores, get the kids to school, work, pay the bills, do more chores, put the kids to bed, wash rinse repeat. Marie DeBlassie encourages us in Everyday Enchantments to find that joy in the small things once again. Whether it be reading our favorite books, or finding a new one, cooking something yummy, walks in the rain after dark, the possibilities are endless. The idea is we need to find time to find the magic in our lives. It is always there we just ignore it. Normally non-fictional books aren’t a strong read for me or much above a three star rating but this one I would give a solid four stars.

Ring Tru was a good 5 star read and the first book in the Thick as Thieves series. This was my first read from this author and I was pulled right in. We get mystery, suspense, hot and steamy moments, and so much more.
Gertrude (Tru) has one last job to do and she will finally get to settle down and move on. Unfortunately the job entails being the girlfriend to a very old crotchety man, who has some jewelry she wants to get her hands on. When someone from her past shows up, he throws a wrench into everything she has planned.
Will was shocked to see who the mystery woman was that is dating his boss. His ex that he left 5 years ago to protect her. Now she’s right in the middle of a big job and could possibly ruin things for him and get her hurt.
Seeing each other brings back so many feelings of love, hurt, anger, and heat. Can they both get what they want? Will they have a new future together?
There are so many different twists and turns to this great read. We also get some hot and steamy moments from these two as well. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. “Degrees of Acceptance” is the second book in The Prestian series from Via Mari. I would highly recommend that you read the first book, “Degrees of Innocence,” before you read this one. This book picks up right where that one leaves off from. It also contains details that are pertinent to this novel. All that said, this book was just as good, if not better, that the first!
In this book we get more of Katarina’s back story and her family. She has some things she needs to work on with her family. Chase is the protective man as usual and will stop at nothing to make sure he stakes his claim on her. Katarina is forced to learn what she can and can’t live with or accept. What ‘degree’ she can handle…
There is still plenty of hot, steamy, and tantalizing sex to keep you intrigued between the intriguing story lines. I can’t wait to find out what will come next after that surprise of an ending! Thanks for another great read Via Mari!

Oooohhhh!!!! I am going to love, love, love, this series!! Everything from the gorgeous cover to the tantalizing story on the pages behind it was perfect. I had never read anything from Brittany Anne before, but I can promise it will not be my last. I am impatiently waiting for the next installment in this series now, and I do believe I will be checking out her other novel(s) in the meantime.
Now I will say, a few years ago you would not have found me reading a dystopian or post-apocalyptic novel, ever. I am so happy I have branched out. I really have discovered some amazing new authors and a few rare gems that I would have missed out on. “Born to Fight” is definitely one of those.
There is a lot going on in this story, but never once was I overwhelmed with anything. It was told with grace and precision and flowed beautifully. I was gripped by the action and well engrossed with the multi-layer storylines. I also enjoyed the fact that it was written in a multi-point of view as well.
Rain is strong and independent. She has to be after spending two years alone and fending for herself in a bunker. One day everything she knows is turned upside down when she stumbles upon a badly injured man by the river near her bunker. She finds out that he is in dire need and feels that she must take him back to her bunker and help tend to him.
Hunter is the wounded man’s name. As he heals and the two begin to know each other they both begin to feel something for each other. There just happens to be a few problems here with that. Hunter shouldn’t feel anything for anyone let alone Rain. Rain has some secrets that she is keeping and it could put them both at risk. What will happen when they find themselves in the face of danger? When secrets are revealed? Can either of them find happiness? Will it be with each other? I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book!

This little novel was one of those that was just too short! I mean that in the best way possible too! I adored it. Tracey Cramer-Kelly brought ALL the feels to the table with this one and I couldn’t get enough. I found myself tearing up several times from emotional plot twists while reading, but also because this book was over. I was so thrilled that there will be more in the series to come! Another fab bonus is that she is a new author to me so I will be able to devour her other available titles while I wait for book two.
Calling the Curveball is one of those second chance romances that grips the heartstrings. Kira Walker is re-claiming her life the best she can after an ugly divorce. Her focus is on her career as a teacher and her self-worth., not men. When she spots a sexy umpire on a summer trip to visit her sister, she decides to take a leap of faith and ask him out. She is blown away at her guts, and even more shocked by his answer of yes.
Jamie Lawson is side-swiped by Kira asking him out, but can’t find a reason to turn her down. He hasn’t had the easiest past either though. One plagued with tragedy and broken dreams it has changed him from the man he once thought he would be. Will these two be able to find happiness together long term? Or will their pasts simply get in the way and only allow for a summer fling and more heartbreak?

Must Be Crazy by Deborah Garland is the third book in the Darling Cove Series and one I have been waiting for. This series has been one of my favourites and this story is just as good if not better than the other two books and let me tell you I loooooooooved the other two and the Mallory’s. Must be Crazy is a wonderful second chances contemporary romance that is romantic and sweet, heart wrenching and tender, emotional and yet passionate. I was absolutely invested in these wonderful characters, previous and new and found myself crying and laughing throughout and often on the edge of my seat hoping upon hope that things would turn out ok.
Edward is a single father who is a good, kind and compassionate guy who devotes his time to his son, volunteer firefighting and his business as an architect, volunteer firefighter, single father, and all-round good guy. One call, one fire and his life is changed forever.
Skye thought she could have it all, until she learns just who her client is after.
If you love a good romance story, then why stop at one when you can have all three. Trust me reading has never been so good.

Sailors Knot is book four in the Eastern Shore series by Phoebe Alexander. This beauty is my favourite by a mile. I connected with Casey, Joshua and Gabriel instantly. Fell for them instantly. Became one with their story instantly. I try to be objective when I write a review, but my romantic heart just overtales and it always ends up being emotionally driven. I cannot help it. These stories always bring out mixed and endless emotions, and I crave them more with each new release.
Casey had a life and death fight on her hands while battling cancer. Her life had been colourful, eventful and frenzied. She is a part owner of a swingers club!! I mean, how much more adventurous can you get. She was one of the most exciting characters I have ever had the privilege of getting to know. I admired her and hoped that she got everything she deserved. Joshua was a sweetheart and my favourite. Gabriel was always holding something back, I felt, and was more reserved and difficult to get a read on. Together they were an electric trio. Highly sexual beings coming together to create a firestorm of passion and mutual desire. The affection they felt was deep and there was a constant air of quiet desperation between them. Totally addictive.
Sailors Knot was the ultimate in raunchy entertainment. Phoebe Alexander wowed me with this instalment. I cannot wait for more. 5 stars.

Courage is the second book in The Sisterhood series by Chelsi Arnold. This is a military themed book full of action and suspense. I highly recommend you read the first book in the series because for the pertinent information give about these ladies and the groups background. I knew I would read this book as soon as I finish the first book, but I think this is my new favorite by Ms. Arnold. This book had me hooked from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until I read the last page. This group of women that make up the Sisterhood are all brave, strong, smart and would do anything to help save their country. They lose a member of their team and are looking for revenge, but they also have to work together to save their country and really the world. This book will have you on the edge of you seat, and is full of twists and turns that had me guessing till the end. I highly enjoyed this book and would recommend it, this author and The Sisterhood series.

Calling the Curveball a Lawson Family Novel by Tracey Cramer-Kelly appears to he the first and I hope not the only look about this great family.
Jamie Lawson had dreams of being a baseball player, but that dream never came true. His life changed in several ways that day and he has lived in his own world until he meets Kira.
Kira Walker is two years removed from a divorce that shattered her emotional. Her Ex is a jerk, and to me made it seem like everything that went wrong was her fault. She isn’t ready to move forward until she sees the hot umpire at the baseball game.
This story is about so much more than second chances, it ended up being a lot deeper than I expected it to he but I don’t know if it would have worked any other way. I really like Jamie and Kira, but Ian and Ben both have my mind racing. I have to know what happened to them and where they end up.

Speechless. Courage is a continuation of the first book Brave in the Sisterhood Series, which is written by Chelsi Arnold. This book however, is from the perspective of Greer. This series is about 4 women Navy SEALS going through training and now working as a team during war. This is a great book that captures the military and the bonds that women and soldiers have with one another. Chelsi Arnold does a great job in sucking you in and keeping you interested. Not only do Navy SEALS have a hard job but these women show you how it’s done. There are a lot of emotional ups and downs and enough suspense to keep you on your toes. I’m not one for military books but this one is done so beautifully. All the women that were introduced in the first book are so different and have their own reasons for wanting to be SEALS. I was in awe during the first book but this one is just as amazing. After losing one of their “sisters” they move forward and fight for her. Like I said, not usually my type of book, but I couldn’t help but fall in love with this series. It’s so rare that we ever hear about the women in the military and this story gives them the absolute salute that they deserve. This book is a definite page turner and you will find yourself not wanting to put it down. This author deserves a standing ovation for this series.

Degrees of Acceptance by Via Mari is the second book in the Prestian series. This is one of those series you really need to read, especially if you don’t like those romance stories that are smooth and easy. There is absolutely nothing smooth and easy about the relationship between Katarina and Chase which is how it was on the first book.
The level of protectiveness Chase feels for Kate is sweet, justified and suffocating all at once and we see all sides of it in this installment of their story. We also see that the protection isn’t just for Kate but also for friends and loved ones too.
There are many layers to Chase and I don’t think what we have seen has scratched the surface. I have a strong feeling that there will more layers peaked back in the next book.
I didn’t want to like Chase and because of him this series but he managed to work his way in and I’ve fallen in love with the series. Cannot wait to see what happens.

Mad about Matt is the first book in the Red Maple Falls series by Theresa Paolo. It’s been sitting on my Kindle for a bit and I finally got the chance to read it. I’m so glad I did and wish I had gotten to it sooner.
Matt had his heart broken when he was a teenager by Shay. He isn’t that boy anymore but he hasn’t ever recovered from her.
Shay loved spending her summers with her grandparents as a kid. It was then she met and fell in love with Matt. But love is never easy when you’re young.
Thankfully there is always an opportunity to rekindle that love no matter how much neither one of them wants do it or fight it.
I fell in love with this group of siblings and I’m looking forward to reading their stories and how they fall in love with their special someones.

Felicity Found is the sixth instalment in the Rogue Series by Lara Ward Cosio. The Rogue series is one of the best Rockstar romance series that I have ever read. These books are not your ‘typical’ Rockstar romances, there is so much more going on in each book. These are not sweet, fluffy reads, these books are so much deeper- somewhat raw, honest and gritty stories that pluck at your heart-strings and take you on a journey that will be hard to forget. I really think I’m drawn to the series not only by the authors superb writing skills- but also by the wonderful characters who are so easy to connect with. Because Conor and Felicity’s story started back in book #2, ‘Playing at Love’, I really recommend reading that book at the very least- so you have all the backstory, details and information that it contains- as that will give you a greater understanding, and reading experience of this book. If you haven’t read the rest of the series, you are seriously missing out. This book explores sensitive subjects, which are handled in an honest, realistic and insightful way. It took me on an emotional journey full of all the highs and lows I have come to expect from Ms. Ward Cosio. This is ‘life’ in its truest form, and Ms. Ward Cosio didn’t shy away from giving us a warts-and-all experience. This book touched me far more than I had been expecting, and my emotions certainly got a heavy work-out. Although the topic could be considered as somewhat heavy reading, this story proves to be more uplifting and inspiring. There were scenes that made my heart ache, and there were quite a few tears along the way. Having the characters from the previous books make appearances in this story was like revisiting old friends- and I loved catching up with them too. I am really looking forward to Ms. Ward Cosio’s next book!

I was pulled in right from the beginning with the epilogue. We jump ahead six years. Jamie is umping at a baseball game when he sees her in the crowd. There is something about her that he can’t stop looking at.
Kira is intrigued and really wants to talk to Jamie. It’s been two years since her divorce and he’s single. What would it hurt?
Everyone is a little messed up sometimes.
When these two start dating it was great. You could feel the connection between them. But of course real life things get in the way along with some things from the past. Can these two get past the hurdles and make things work?
This was my first read by this author and I loved it. I was pulled right in by her writing and couldn’t stop until I was done. I really liked this couple and I really wanted them to get their HEA. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. If your looking for a great story with two people looking for a second chance at love this is the book for you.

Nathaniel is the first book in the Dragon Hearts series by Carole Mortimer. This is an exciting paranormal romance full of dragon shifters, passion, mystery, drama, insta-love, lust, different realms, some suspense, and more. I love a good shifter romance, especially dragons, so this book already had me in the palm of its hand, right from the start. What I was expecting was a bit of a light, fun, adventure with some shifters, and a little romance thrown in for good measure. I would have enjoyed it and given it a 3.5 or 4 star rating. BUT, what I found when I turned the pages of this enthralling story, WAS SO MUCH MORE! The book is fairly short, but Ms. Mortimer still manages to create a story with quite a lot of depth, while also weaving in some myth, lore, and intriguing backstory- which really sets this book apart. The tie-in with King Arthur; the ‘OtherWorld’; and all the other seemingly small, inter-connected details- really adds to the incredible story. I was hooked, reading it in a matter of hours- and loved every minute. Ms. Mortimer proves once again that she is a brilliant storyteller and wonderful writer, able to work her magic with any genre. The story she created here is romantic, exciting, sexy, erotic, emotive, and fun! When seasoned freelance journalist Chloe Evans arrives in Wales, she was expecting a relaxing get-away- but instead of wandering the countryside enjoying the picturesque scenery and tourist sites, she thinks she may have stumbled on a story. Her natural investigative and curious nature take over and she soon finds much more than she bargained for. What she suspects to be a story on drug smuggling introduces her to a world she never imagined, one that will change her life forever. Being held captive by an incredibly sexy man, in a castle in Wales, is only the beginning of her adventure- and one you really should read to discover what happens, and all the other fantastic details, for yourself. I really loved this story- Chloe and Nathaniel are wonderful characters who really made this story come to life. I loved their banter, and chemistry. Their connection was sizzling! I can’t wait to read all about the other eight brothers now, and am so excited to find that the books have already been released- so I don’t have to wait before I can dive right in! Fantastic!
