Deadly Weapon (Jake Wolfe #5) by Mark Nolan was a great 5 star read. Once I started I couldn’t put it down, we get another great story from Jake and Cody.
Jake and Cody are working on stopping a deadly weapon from killing lots of innocent people. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next.
Will they be able to stop the weapon in time?
We get multiple POV’s which I really enjoy. We get action, mystery, adventure and so much more. There are several twists and turns that added a great element to the story. Nolan, I believe, has perfected the crime/thriller genre. This latest book is just as fast paced and action packed as previous works. Jake and Cody find themselves almost immediately entangled in another blockbuster adventure. These books are so riveting and vivid they read like a movie. You can see the images as you devour each word. This is a must read for all crime/thriller lovers. You won’t go wrong with any of Nolan’s works!

While this isn’t a genre I normally go for, having read the previous read in this series it has become a genre that I will read if this author is writing them! While this book can be read as a stand-alone for the best experience I’d highly suggest reading the others. This book will have you captivated from the very beginning, it will have you on the edge of your seat with the twists and turns wondering what will happen next. This read is filled with action, adventure & suspense, you will never be bored while reading it. I highly recommend this author and the incredible reads he creates, you will not be disappointed!

DEADLY WEAPON (Jake Wolfe Book 5) by Mark Nolan, I have really become a fan of this author. I really like action-packed stories and this one gives me all that and more. Almost from the first rattle out of the bag Jake is in deep and from there it’s a roller coaster ride of one situation after another. I love the subtle romance between Jake and his girlfriend she is truly his match and tough-as-nails. As qualified and capable as Jake is he is not a “just follow orders” type of guy, he made the only decision that made sense in the end. This is a timely book, (read coronavirus), even though it was written before the events of this year, so be sure to read the fact sheet at the end about what is real and what is not real, I really enjoyed them. This is a great read and I’d recommend this author to anybody.

I have read all of Jake Wolfe’s adventures. I love each one more than the last one. Mark Nolan is a mastermind. He makes Jake go through some incredible adventures. In this one Jake deals with a psycho who is trying to change it. Like the other Jake’s stories there is a lot of action. That is one great thing about Mark Nolan, he keeps the readers engaged with all of the twists and turns, I was at the edge of my seat several times. I recommend all of Jake Wolfe’s stories, but this one is my favorite. I cannot wait to see what is next for Jake.

Back into Jake’s world. Yet again it has me grip at the start. Mark Nolan has a major talent for bringing stories off the page and to life.
Jake and Cody are just amazing character and thier development across this book amazes me yet again. This is an action packed book this story is truly astonishing and I enjoyed reading it and can’t wait to read the next book.

Deadly Weapon (Jake Wolfe Book 5) by Mark Nolan is another action packed, nonstop suspenseful ride that is what I have come to expect from Jake and Cody. I have not read one book in this series that I have not loved but between you and me I think this is my favourite. Mark knows his stuff and delivers great writing and vivid details. Truth be told I always walk away from Mark’s work learning something I didn’t know. The adventure does not let up and continues all the way through this enticing and enthralling, thrill ride. You can read them all as standalones but I would suggest starting from the beginning and falling in love with Cody and how their relationship came to be.

Another great story featuring Jake Wolfe and his war dog Cody. This one is non-stop action. If Jake isn’t taking down a plane he is running from a drone shooting at him. He is one guy that would be great to know but yet he wouldn’t because he always brings his work home. l need to say that I love his attitude. He has confidence in getting the job done anyway and anyhow which leads to his cockiness. Cody is just as animated as always. I love when we get chapters or snippets of a story from his POV. It’s always interesting.
We do get to see a large number of returning characters. From his girlfriend Sarah to Grinds his former military friend. I love all of this large cast. They each add to the story yet don’t overpower it.
As always I love reading the “Dear Reader” at the end of the book. Give it a look if you want behind the story scenes. This one might give nightmares.

This book seems in step with the events of 2020 given the subject matter. If you need an escape from current events, this particular book may not be one you want to read until everything calms down.
However, don’t dismiss it entirely. Deadly Weapon is a great read with a ton of action and adventure mixed in with a bit of mystery and danger.
I love the interaction between Jake and Cody. Of course, who doesn’t love an intelligent dog as a side kick? One of my favorite parts of the story is the sidecar bit where Cody is enjoying the ride, in spite of the danger.
Overall, I found Deadly Weapon to be an intense and entertaining read.

Deadly Weapon is the fifth book in the Jake Wolfe Series by Mark Nolan. This can be read as standalone but I highly recommend reading the whole series. The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat while trying to figure out what was going to happen next. With the Covid happening right now this hits really close to home. I had a hard time putting it down once I started reading In this action packed story we find Jake and Cody on a fishing trip in Alaska but they are pulled away to stop a very deadly virus from wiping everyone out. Can Jake find who’s responsible for unleashing the virus before it’s to late? Find out what happens next. I can’t recommend this book or this author enough. Jake Wolfe and his trusted partner Cody are at it again. They are a great team and I swear Cody reads Jakes thoughts before they are said. What a Strong powerful team. I want them on my side, that’s for sure! Jake is fighting against time and what could be the end of the population as we know it. Evil has entered and it must be stopped. One criminal at a time. Read how this thriller plays out.
Mark Nolan once again graced my tablet, with this suspenseful story. It is a page turning book you will enjoy as much as I did. Jake and Cody are the best characters in this story. But they are not the only ones. This story has many groups for and against Jack and Cody. You will also get all the feels, laughter, sorrow, anger, and even a little romance. When Jake is not jumping from planes and swimming in the ocean. Sure wish I could give this book more than 5 ☆’s! Well done Mark Nolan, Well done!

Deadly Weapon by Mark Nolan a thrilling five-star read. This is number five in the Jake Wolfe series and they could be read as stand-alone but do read better as a series, Jake and Cody are off for some relaxing time in this one, or so they desire. Sadly, for Jake fishing doesn’t go to plan, as life never seems to, does it. This is a compelling action filled read where the action really does leap off the page, the detail this author goes into is phenomenal the reality is scary especially at the moment. I have enjoyed all of these stories but this one just pulled put all of the stops for me. There really is a little of everything in this story, and you will be sorry to miss it. The anticipation in this story will have you on the edge all the way through, its terse and gripping and just a great story overall.

This is the 5th action packed novel in the Jake Wolfe series from Mark Nolan. I would think by now you would want to read the first books to follow along the journey of Jake Wolfe and his trusty sidekick Cody. I have really enjoyed every installment in this series but Deadly Weapon is taking the first place for my absolute favorite so far. I do hope we will keep getting these wild stories. I love how Nolan can suck you into the adventure literally from the very first page until the mind bending final chapter.
In Deadly Weapon we find Jake on a mission to stop a ‘deadly weapon’ from killing millions including the ones he holds most dear. The adventure is a nail biter and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together, and cheering for Jake to come out on top and victorious. This is one you don’t wanna miss, especially if you love adrenaline pumping story lines. I can’t wait to see what will come next!

Deadly Weapon by Mark Nolan is the fifth book in the Jake Wolfe series. This book can be read as a standalone although I would recommend reading it in order as it follows the same character throughout and I feel you would miss of a lot of the previous development. I found this book to be a really intense and thrilling story to read. I instantly got straight back into the character of Jake, almost like I had gone from one book straight into the next. Their new mission is one that is scarily close to home right now but for me I think that just made it all the better. You couldn’t help but draw parallels between the 2. But the credit really does have to go to the author for creating a book that feels so real that it is like you are there with Jake. This series really is a fantastic one to read. Each book just gets better and better and I am always excited to pick up the next book. I would definitely highly recommend not just this book but the series as a whole!

Deadly Weapon is the adrenaline-charged fifth book in the Jake Wolfe seriesby Mark Nolan. I just can’t get enough of this series- and I don’t think I will ever tire of following Jake and Cody on one of their exciting ‘adventures’- so I hope Mark Nolan has got a well-spring of storyline ideas firing up his imagination, to ensure we keep getting new instalments of Jake Wolfe for many years to come. No pressure, Mr. Nolan. As this story’s title suggests, Jake and Cody are thrust in a race against time to prevent a deadly weapon of mass destruction from being deployed. They will need to use all their skills, as well as work with others, in order to save billions of lives. So as you can imagine, this proved to be quite a thrilling and action-packed read- with drama, danger, adventure, mystery, edge-of-your-seat tension, twists & turns, assassins, a power hungry madman, hidden agendas, secret organisations, violence, murder, gun fights, explosions, and so much more. I was pulled in right from the beginning, reading the entire book in one sitting- just so I could find out how everything plays out in the end. As with the previous books, this story is told from multiple POV’s- giving me a fuller perspective of what was happening. This allowed me to have a much richer reading experience, because I had so much more information to work with. Again, as with all the books in this series, the characters are truly fantastic- they are so well developed, crafted into fully-realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. As expected, I especially love how incredibly detailed and developed Cody’s personality is, too- it’s this attention to detail that really sets this book/series apart from others in the same genre! The story can definitely be read as a standalone- but as there are recurring characters, as well as important details which have helped to forge the characters, as well as containing backstory details- which really help to build a bigger picture and knowing what has happened previously, and how much Jake and Cody have been through together- would give you a far richer reading experience of this story. I could go on and on about every little detail of this fantastic book- but instead I will sign off here so you can grab yourself a copy and dive in asap- highly recommended! I can’t wait to see what Jake and Cody get up to next in “Key West Dead” (Book Six)!

Deadly Weapon by Mark Nolan is the fifth book in the Jake Wolfe series and it was a fantastic read! Another great edition to the series, I could hardly put it down. Full of action, suspense and crime, this book is very entertaining. I don’t think you need to read the others to understand this one. It works well as a standalone novel! This was a fantastic adventure from the first page to the last.i loved the fast paced story and the twists and turns.
We are back with Jack Wolfe and his war vet dog Cody on another adventure to save and protect America from a terrorist group.
This group has a plan to destroy people using an virus from year before. They have the means and the ability to do so. Jack and his team need to stop this organised group from putting their plan into action but with this terrorist group always being one step ahead will he be able to find and defeat them in time, or will everyone he knows and loves suffer at their hands.

Well there goes that relaxing fishing trip… One phone call and those infamous “Can I count on you?” words take Jake and Cody from a relaxing Alaskan fishing trip to a race to save the world.
This one hit close to home, with all going on in our world today there were more than a few times I sat thinking about things I had just read. The action and suspense was vintage Mark Nolan, I love this series. The progression of these characters, even the secondary has been amazing to watch. I was worried about Jake and Sarah as they have been written to this point but there’s always hope and this installment gave that to me. Cody is with no doubt one of my favorite characters ever. Every time I pick a book up in this series I pray because God forbid anything happens to our Cody!
You can absolutely read this as a stand alone but don’t. You really get to know these characters by reading the books before and why not? It is an amazing series and this author hits each one out of the ballpark. I read this in one sitting because putting it down was impossible!

The fifth book in the Jake Wolfe series and I am still really enjoying reading them. I find myself easily captivated and engrossed in what I am reading from the very beginning until the end. It’s nice to step out your reading comfort zone sometimes which I did with this series and I have definitely found some new books and characters to love. I really like Jake’s character; he is really fun to read about. I loved the twists and turns in this new instalment – they certainly kept me on the edge of my seat on more than one occasion. I think the story is probably quite relevant with everything happening in the world at the moment so definitely made it more interesting to read! As always I look forward to reading more from this author again in the future!

I enjoyed this book. I have read all of the books in this series by this author. This is one of my favorites by him yet. I loved reading the book Deadly Weapon (Jake Wolfe Book 5) by Mark Nolan. It is a story that from the beginning takes you on a non-stop, action-packed ride that is not over until the final page. It pulled me in, and I didn’t want to put it down. This is a series that I have loved reading since the first book. Jake Wolfe is back and what an adventure waits for him. He is helping to uncover and stop a conspiracy. Will he be able to stop those who have deadly and evil plans? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has action, danger, mystery, suspense, and even a bit of romance. Jake is a character who is intelligent, resourceful, and when sent on a mission has a fierce determination to finish the job. There are moments when I had to remind myself to breathe. The author does an amazing job of making both the storyline and the characters come alive. This story does have additional characters, many of whom know Jake or have heard about him. They have his back. Then there are those whose agenda is evil and has to be stopped. Don’t miss out on a story that will have you reading far into the night to find out how it ends. It is an exciting and entertaining story. I highly recommend reading it.

Killer Lawyer by Mark Nolan is a five star novel. This is the third book in the Jake Wolfe series and it will keep you on the edge of your seat. Even though most series are best read in order, this one is ok to be read as a stand alone. The way the author is able to reel in the reader is fantastic. I could not put this book down. Jake is a lawyer, but really doesn’t have many clients. He got his degree online and barely passed the bar exam. He likes to have this professional coverup because he is secretly a contracted killer for the US government. Being a former marine, he is trained to kill and to be stealthy. With his trusted we dog, Cody, next to him, he is unstoppable. Sarah, his sort of girlfriend, might get in the way though because all she wants is for him to be safe and with her knowledge of what he does, she knows that’s not possible. When Jake’s friend is killed by the Random Killer, he knows he needs to avenge her death and will do anything to make that happen. Follow Jake on his journey through the depths of hell to try to keep those he loves safe from harm yet catch this serial killer.
Killer Lawyer (Jake Wolfe Book 3) by Mark Nolan was a pretty okay read that has many heart stopping moments.
My first read by this author, I didn’t know what I was getting into. I will say that this book is part of a series, and though this book can be read as a standalone, I did find that there were many things, in regards to character background, development, and past plots; that at times made me feel lost. So I highly suggest reading the other books before this one.
As much as I enjoyed this book, I have a mixed review for you.
This was for me, a slow read, that was a little all over the place. I felt like there were too many sub-plots, too much non-essential information, and way too much overexplaining. The lulls between action were dull, too long, and frankly I got a little bored. To be blunt, I got some Issues with Sara. Now that could have come from me jumping into this series at book 3, but man oh man, she got on my nerves. I don’t like when ultimatums are given, and frankly I found the way she acted towards Jake was immature and closed minded. There has to be give and take, and to make a relationship work, compromise is needed, and one person should not have to give up their entire life/job, when the other party isn’t willing or won’t do the same. I’m a serving member, and maybe I’m pulling at old wounds, but that whole situation was, you could say, triggering for me.
On to the good.
I have a deep love for the amount of research that when into this book. I’m talking the little things, one that got me was the “hurry up and wait.” It’s a common military situation, one I have been in many times. Nothing like to have to show up for 0530, only to be told you’re on standby, but you can’t relax because you might have to jump into action at a moments notice… three hours later and you’re still “on standby“… so yeah, that one made me chuckle.
When the action got underway it was suspenseful, heart stopping, and detailed. I like the multi POV, especially when the killer was narrating. It was a creepy look inside his twisted head, and added a darker, almost panic like layer, that offset the slower parts of this book. I like all the characters, their connections to Jake and even though they gave him greef, you could feel the respect they had for him.
Overall this book is well written, engaging and intriguing. It could use a hair cut, to get rid of some of the unnecessary bulk and filler, but in the long run, I very much enjoyed my time reading this thriller and it gets my high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Killer Lawyer was an exciting and gripping read and one that I really enjoyed. It’s not my usual reading genre but I have read work by this author before and I was gripped by what I read so I was happy to give his work one more try and again I was so glad I did. The author has created such a multi-dimensional story that I just couldn’t put it down; he kept me guessing the whole way through with his rich detailed writing full of twists and turns. The multiple points of view in the story give for a full rounded read and the characters, as expected, were well developed. I really like Jake’s character, he is a determined person and very meticulous in what he does. I love his ‘relationship’ with Cody! I love the way people form such close bonds with their dogs. Overall I thought that this was a great read, one that definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

I highly recommend this series, they will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat until the end. In this book there is a serial killer killing random people but what will happen when he kills one of Jake’s friends? This is where the story becomes about revenge and survival. I enjoyed watching the development of these characters especially Jake and I love his side kick dog. I had a hard time putting their story down, it is worth picking up just for the action thriller journey.
