I thought this book was really cool. It was the first book that I have read from this author and I found the story to be quite original. It had vampires and fae but also several other supernaturals. The story takes place in a hotel with a hidden agenda. It’s a supernatural refuge! They live in peace while in the hotel. They only place they are allowed to fight is in the Gauntlet. The book was filled with action, mischief and love. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

Gumshoe and the Mysterious Mushrooms by Laura Hawks is a great YA book. I am always looking for YA authors as they tend to write the best stories. Hawks does an exceptional job of grabbing and keeping my attention throughout the entire story. I cannot wait for the rest of the books in the series. Mia Thomas is having one heck of a start to her 15th year of life, the teacher needs to talk to her parents, her father gets arrested, and as if that is not enough she has an amazing ability to talk to cats. She befriends a cat, who promptly tell her his name is Gumshoe. Gumshoe and Mia try to figure out what is happening with her family. Just watch the relationship between Gumshoe and Mia. Will they find out what is going on or will there be more problems?

This is a new author for me, and what a brilliant introduction it was. I loved this book from the very beginning. Rebel Nicks O’Dey has written a brilliant book with an amazing storyline and even better characters. Each characters you meet in this read are relatable, lovable in some way but also make this story. This read brought you through numerous twists and turns and made you really think about what was going to happen, but then the author takes on in a completely different direction. This was a compelling read that you got so invested in the story you didn’t realise you had read it all in one sitting!
I loved following the journey of our main character through the read all through their ups and downs right until the end. I can definitely see Rebel Nicks O’Dey becoming one of my go-to authors after this read! I highly recommend everyone pick up this book and love it just as much as I did!

Blackbirds Deliverance by Lisette Kristensen is the fourth book in in the Silent Secrets Series. This is a strong series that will easily get you attention. As with the previous books we are pulled back into the life of Blackbird. I find it really easy to slip back into her journey as it leaves such a lasting impression every time. The story was just as well written this time. It was well paced throughout and so easy to imagine what was happening on the pages in front of you. I hope there is more to come from this series and I am looking forward to exploring this authors work more.

Shattered Melody is a standalone book by Amy McKinley, that ties in with her Gray Ghost series. I was drawn to it as the protagonist, Emma, is a songwriter. I liked how the songwriting happens regularly throughout the book as Emma processes her grief and other emotions. It reminded me of a character in another of McKinley’s books, Liv, who used sculpture as an outlet. The way the music is described is lovely, but I wish we’d been able to see the lyrics! Shattered Melody is quite a short book, and so the story is quite fast paced. The ending did feel a little bit rushed – once things started developing they developed quickly! – but generally I found it flowed well. For me, this is a four star book. If you’ve read the Gray Ghost books and enjoyed them, I’d recommend this as a good expansion of the story with more of a focus on character and romance (but there’s still some action!). If you haven’t read the Gray Ghost books yet, this could be a good way to test the waters and works well as a standalone romance with a bit of mystery and action.

The story Blackbird’s Deliverance (Silent Secrets Series Book 4) by Lisette Kristensen is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It is fast-paced and has plenty of action. I love the character of Blackbird. She is a strong, intelligent, and determined woman. She finds herself on a mission that is close to home and her past. Read this book to find out how it all goes down. This is a story that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. There are intense moments and dialogue. I enjoyed reading about the characters that have been brought forward from the other books and how they interact with Blackbird. Don’t miss out on the next amazing book in a series that I have loved since reading the first story. Highly recommended.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I found it to be uniquely written. This story has a lot of emotion throughout. It is a very detail oriented story that makes you feel like you are right there in it. Henry is a loner and odd child so you wonder how his adulthood will play out, especially after the horrific event he witnessed. The author has such a wonderful imagination that makes this book different than any other I have read before. To find out about Henry’s journey this is a must read. I recommend this book.

Gumshoe and the Mysterious Mushrooms is the first novel in the Gumshoe Mystery series by Laura Hawks. This is my first novel by this author.
On her 15th birthday, she sets out to clear her family name after her father is arrested. Her partner is a cat named Gumshoe, who is her familiar.
This was a really good novel and very refreshing. I haven’t read much in a while so I was really enjoying this funny YA cozy mystery. Gumshoe had me laughing often while reading. He is a cat that drinks coffee and wine and tries to help Mia with the investigation. What secrets will the two uncover?
From the title, one isn’t sure what to expect but this is cute read and I am excited for the next book.

The Gauntlet by Ashley Pagano a five-star read that will stay with you. This is one of those paranormal thrillers that will astound you, it is filled with characters that will surprise you at every turn. There was a great flow to this story, Ommily and Link are great characters but I also loved how the Hotel Soppranaturale was a character all of its own the secrets, and I kept wondering if I had found all of those secrets out as I was reading. I cant wait to read more from Ashley Pagano as she shows us real talent with the writing.

The Fire God Tour by Michele Sims is the third installment in the Moore Family Saga and is my favourite so far! I would suggest reading this saga in order as each new book follows the same set of characters as previous books, give or take a few years.
This book was my favourite so far because I was able to connect with the main characters on a deeper level, which is something that I wasn’t able to do in in the first two. I loved being able to finally read more about Miles and to follow along on his one of a kind journey.
This was a truly entertaining read and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!

The Gauntlet: The Soppranaturale Series By Ashley Pagano. I was definitely pleasantly surprised by this very magically engaging storyline. While this is a shorter story it doesn’t lack anything I’d want, it’s got a great storyline and characters I loved. How the author packed so much into a shorter story without confusion or feeling rushed took skills. It’s well written and paced nicely never. I definitely liked the unique approach that was taken, it’s nice to see fresh ideas. I’m excited to see where the author takes readers next. Five stars all the way and I highly recommend it. This is the first book I have read by this author so was unsure what to expect. Also, I’ve been stepping out of my comfort zone a bit recently and reading different genres so again was tentative about reading this. All I can say is that I loved it. Not quite sure exactly which genre it fits as it could fall into many. It has supernatural, religion, thriller, crime and a bit of romance too. Although mainly centred around Henry Drummond, there are many characters with a major role in the book. Kevin Ansbro does an amazing job of creating characters that you love, hate, despise and just about every other emotion. The evil Pascal and Yuri are so well written, you get really into their heads and see what makes them the evil gits that they are. Sebastian is another story – on my god can he get his head any further up his own backside!! I loved Henry and Amber, especially the way in which Amber deals with Henry’s poshness (is that even a word?) My favourite character is Mr O’Connor, Henry’s landlord. I love just how he took Henry under his wing and became a father figure to him encouraging him in his ambition to be an author. Honestly I could write forever about the characters in this book as they are so wonderful. I’m so glad that I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something different.

Ommily shows up at the Soppranaturale Hotel and Link immediately feels the pull towards her. But this isn’t possible, is it? Has he finally found another Faerie? He feel so much more around her, and they feel drawn to each other. They are two halves of a whole, created to work together. Circumstances then throw them into the Gaunlet. Can a woman who has just learned what she is and a man who swore to never turn to violence again win against the top ranking team? What will this mean for the future?
This was quite an interesting book. I liked both the main characters and cannot wait to learn more about the secondary characters. They are all so unique and exciting to me. Basing it around a supernatural hotel is also a wonderful idea. I love this concept. It was a very gripping story too. There are many things going on and a few surprises along the way. This seems to be the beginning of a great series and I anxiously await the next book in the series.
If you like supernatural books with action and romance, this book is for you.

This is the second story in the Moore Family Saga and it follows Act I, about seven years later. While it seems not much has changed for Lecia and Cade it really has. Cade is a rock star, Lecia the stay at home mom. It seems the only danger to this perfect family is themselves. Miles is growing and it seems he is more special than we first thought.
This storyline is easy to read and easy to follow. While the characters Lecia and Cade are likeable, I find that I don’t LOVE them…yet. They have poor communication skills with each other and as husband, wife, friends or lovers they really should be able to express themselves better. They may have avoided much conflict in their lives…oh, well…good job Sims, a story about how we are our own worst enemies! Don’t get me wrong, these two have to fight off much more than themselves. Some people, in stories and real life, just want what they can’t have! Plus having a son with such special abilities!
I recommended this saga and am looking forward to what Act III brings for this family.

I loved this book! It is the first book that I have read by this author and will absolutely not be the last! I think I was hooked on this book by the end of the third page! The author hooked me into the story straight away with her engaging and creative writing style. I liked that the blurb was quite evasive so I almost went into this story blind – for me it made it more exciting to read not really knowing what was going to happen. I really liked The Fisher Men, Morgan, Connor, Xander and Zack, I thought that they were great to read about. The time frame of the story spans a few years but it doesn’t feel like that at all, the story telling was seamless and had a wonderful flow to it. There were some very emotional moments in the story and I did feel a good connection with all of the characters, I think this definitely helped by the different POV’s throughout the book. I am really excited to read more from this author again in the future!

I highly suggest reading this whole series .This is a story about Barbara and Liam. She’s a demon and she has precognitive abilities that saved her from an attack. Liam is a agent and has gotten her teamed up with Paranormal Talent Agency. Can they help stop the supernatural being? Can she find love by opening up her heart? I’ve truly enjoyed this entire series. The authors style of writing grabs your attention from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the end. The characters are very well developed and easily relatable. Find out what happens next in this must read book. I can’t wait to see what this Author brings us next.

The Fish that Climbed a Tree by Kevin Ansbriso is a story that has a little bit of everything from humour and fantasy, immortality and cruelty, murder and violence, the afterlife and coming-of-age, mystery and thrills, ghosts and a lot more. Kevin has written a story that is very imaginative and thought provoking. He leads us on a wild journey where anything is fair game and his storytelling is very vivid. There is a cast of characters that you will either love or hate which brings a different narrative and picture to the whole book.
It is one book that you will have to read to understand the simplicity in the complexity.

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria DeBlassie took me longer to read than expected, not because I didn’t enjoy it but because reading it seemed to bring a calming peace and I found myself wanting to nap while also making me think about what she was saying.
I don’t know which of the musings I liked the best, I enjoyed them all but I did like the reference to crocheting since that is something I do. It made me see it in a bit of a different light.
This is not the book to read if you’re in a hurry or looking for a quick read. This is a book to read at your own pace and savor each word and thought.

The Fire God Tour (Moore Family Saga Book 3) by Michele Sims is a story that has bought this series full circle. It is a romance with a touch of paranormal story that is interesting and takes us on a journey of a musical star and finding his way to love. This series has been centred around the Moore Family and the trials and tribulations they have endured and the love of a good family. Michele writing flows and there are a couple of twists that keep you glued to the pages.
Ari has gone from a child to a man and is now living the high life with his own kind of music. When he hires a new marketing consultant never did he see his life heading in the direction it goes. Will she be the one to tame Ari?

This is the fourth book in the series, they just keep getting better and better. I enjoyed how the author was able to pull me into the story right from the beginning. In this story Blackbird’s past comes to the present. With it, it brings conflict that just may depend on her survival or it may take her down. I love her, she has been my favorite throughout this series. She is a strong, independent, take no nonsense from anyone. She makes the story feel real. I highly recommend this book.

This series just keeps getting better and better with each book. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover. I also enjoyed watching the characters grow with each book and how family plays a role. Miles is a superstar who seems to have everything he wants until he meets Belle. He can’t seem to leave her alone, there is just something about her. Will he cross over the professional line? Will hidden secrets be the cause of losing everything? I highly recommend reading their story.

I loved this story! This author continues to write a series that continues to get better and better with each story. They bring the romance, action, suspense as well as twists and turns that leave me turning pages. In this story, Russ and his team were targeted in Iraq but now that he is back in the States, he realizes he is still being targeted. Than he meets Claire but problem is they don’t know who is the real target. They are great characters that pop off the pages. A must read!

Its a fast paced story that keeps your reading until the end

This paranormal fantasy has something for everyone. Richly detailed. This story pulled me in immediately. Lovers of all those fantastic creatures that live in our fantasies and maybe even go bump in the night are beautifully detailed in this new world Pagano creates. From beginning to end, the story moves quickly and purposefully, captivating the audience. Extremely well done and absolutely recommended to all fantasy lovers!

I was unprepared for the masterpiece I found in my hands. The author is new to me and I was enthralled by the tale that unfolded. Charming, original, and just plain fantastic, I simply couldn’t read the story fast enough. I cannot wait to pick the book up again to reread and catch any details I missed on the first go round. Loved it!

McKinley masterfully weaves this tale of romance and suspense and somehow fits quite a punch into a short number of pages. I continue to believe that McKinley has firmly established herself as a must read author. This novella is certainly not an exception to that opinion. My only complaint is that the story could have easily been double or triple the number of pages. I was sad to read the last page. But so much was said in the limited number of pages in my hand that I was extremely surprised and loved every minute of it.
The Fish that Climbed a Tree by Kevin Ansbro is a four star novel. Before picking this book up, I only saw the title and thought it intriguing. This novel was not at all what I was expecting from that. Not that I was disappointed because this novel has a lot of redeeming qualities. It was hard for me to follow at first that we are dealing with two different spheres of reality. My heart was breaking for Henry and the pain he would be feeling as a young child after his parents are murdered. As we follow him growing up, he seems to be doing ok but with the pitfalls of childhood that a lot of us face. Then as that story is flowing, we also see the realm of his father, Ulysses, as he is navigating through the after life. The way the author uses names and his large vocabulary to spice up his novel, the reader needs to really pay attention to be able to catch all of it. That part of the novel is brilliantly done.
