Once again, I have been utterly taken in by a biker story. You would think it would get repetitive, but Manda Mellett does not write the same love story twice. Love can happen even when you aren’t looking. This book has all the common themes I have come to love and expect from this author: Love, Complex Characters, Tight Family Bonds, and Plot Twists that make for quite the RIDE! (tehe, see what I did there?). Some of it was hard to read, but helps the reader understand the characters better. Clear the space on your TBR, cause you’re likely going to want to pick up the next.

Captured By The Viscount is a great historical romance by Wareeze Woodson. I have now read a few of her historical romances and have become a big fan of her writing. I was never a big fan of historical romance before but it is a genre that I’m now enjoying much more, thanks to reading Wareeze Woodson’s books. Captured By The Viscount had me hooked from the very first chapter when Isabel is literally caught by the viscount. Matthew, breaking into his home. The story flowed really well and kept me gripped right up to the very end. As well as the romantic story of Isabel and Matthew there is danger and intrigue as they try to work out who is trying to kill Isabel, and why. I loved the growing romance between Isabel and Matthew, although both have no idea how the other feels. This causes many amusing interactions between the two as they skirt around their growing feelings toward each other. If you like a historical romance with a bit of sexiness thrown in, then I’d definitely recommend Captured By The Viscount. It’s well worth the read.

Book Review: Grumbler’s Ride Author Manada Mellette FIVE STARS Book 2 in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego chapter does NOT disappoint. Grumbler is a mid to late 50’s man who has not had the best of luck in life. He has resigned himself to being alone for the rest of his life and he is ok with that. Mary is in her late 40’s and a single mom. She has her hands full with her head strong daughter who is trying to find a place in the difficult life of being a teenager. Grumbler is approached by a man who take photographs. This is how he meets Mary, her daughter is modeling and they are using Grumbler’s motorcycle as a prop. This story is funny as well disturbing. Some of the things the photographer is into is very shady and NOT COOL. I love the way the Satan’s Devils are able to take down the trafficking of persons. So far I am in love with this series. KLH

Book Review: Manifested Dreams Author: Yvonne Johnson Four Stars This is a very short book of letters written through the years from members of an African-American family. Describing their experiences with being persons of color and their treatment. It starts with a girl who was an owned slave then continues through the years up to present day when Barack Obama was elected president and their reactions and hopes when that came about. Very interesting read. I did learn quite a bit about some of the experiences that were had by people of a different race and culture. KLH

This series just keeps getting better and better with each book! What I love the most is that while these characters arent real, they have real and relatable issues, problems, insecurities. When i open one of these books i feel like im sitting down with an old friend to catch up and see what has been happening in their life.

Very interesting dive into the mashup of the far world and MC universe. I really liked how the author set up the story. It immediately grabbed my attention and provided me with an emotional touch point that kept me wondering how it would play into the events that would unfold. I enjoy this author’s writing and her unique spin on some classic themes. Very enjoyable read.

Lost Bastard is the first book in the Dark Sparrows series by India Kells. I have read/ listened to most of Ms Kells books, and I think this series is going to be a favorite of mine. The suspense and action really held my attention throughout the fast paced book. Deva and Aleksei make a wonderful couple. Both are strong characters who stick together to overcome evil. As they traverse through MCs, cage fighting and the mob, they learn about each other and their families. This series is going to be amazing if this book is any indication. I hope that the secondary characters will flow through the whole series.
The narrator Antonio Turner has a great voice. This is the first book I have listened to by him. He really brought the characters to life and I’m looking forward to hearing more of his narrations.

I enjoy this author and found myself transfixed as I listened to this book. It was emotional and I felt pulled into the story straight away. The narrator provided a real connection point and you could feel the emotional current through her tone. Enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed this story. I fell so much in love with the first book of this series and hoped there would be more to follow. I was so excited when I saw this I one clicked immediately. This one showed me the other side of the sister/family dynamic. It broke my heart and made me angry, but also made me love Jody that much more. Patience, from the first book became one of my favorite characters ever, and Jody isn’t too far behind now. I love this author and this series. I hope it continues and I hope there is more to come from Centennial. I fell in love with this little town in Courage of Us and definitely want more.
This author has a way of grabbing me at page one and doesn’t let go till the end making it impossible to put her books down till they are over. I loved the way Jody took control and also researched and ended up where she did, how she did it was awesome, and the outcome was even more amazing. This can be read as a standalone but the characters from book one are mentioned often and I would highly recommend reading them in order just to have all of the stories and they are simply amazing so why not… I can’t wait for more of Jody and Holt, Patience and Duke, and also whoever is next. It has also made me want to go back and read book 1 again, so that’s the plan.

Awakening is the third book in The Journals Trilogy by D.M. Earl. This series needs to be read/ listened to in order. This series is rough and addicting. There are definitely some triggers in this book. It was a roller coaster of a ride from the very beginning and it never stopped. This book starts where the first book leaves off. Quinn is an amazingly strong woman who has been through unthinkable things. Stone and his crew have come to help settle the score. This whole series was full of vibrant characters. I listened to this book in one sitting because I just had to know how it ended. It was totally worth it!
This book was narrated by Torii Alaniz. Her voice was mellow and easy to listen to. She really brought the characters to life. I look forward to listening to many more books by her.

Manifested Dreams by Dr. Yvonne L. Johnson Four Stars
Manifested Dreams is a short story by Dr. Yvonne L. Johnson. This is the first book I have read by Dr. Johnson, and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author. This was an intriguing and interesting perspective of history, stories told through letters from the past and discussing current issues. These were thought provoking issues on slavery and racism, and the differences and similarities in generations past and present. It was something different for me to read, but I really enjoyed the different perspectives. I look forward to reading more by this author. Review by @sunbarn

Distance does make the heart grow fonder her, and Katie and Clay prove that.People from separate worlds fighting a pull they can’t ignore. KG Fletcher shows us yet again that music is truly a connection no matter what world you’re from. Katie and Clay are high school crush Reunited at a high school reunion. It gives all the good feels of a chemistry they can’t deny and a love that was meant to whether 16 or 26.

Lyon Tamer by Jen Luerssen had me laughing out loud in parts. It is a romcom with plenty of humor, funny banter, and laugh-out-loud moments. The story is everything I have come to expect from Jen Luerssen, well woven, clever, witty, and entirely entertaining. Sheldon Lock is a vet with a reputation as a bit of a player. He has been unlucky in love but has plenty of ‘experience’ between the sheets. Then he meets focused and determined Simone Lyon, who hasn’t got time for a relationship- her energy is aimed at raising funds to rescue big cats from captivity with her Freedom Roar Rescue organisation. But when Sheldon shows up to do some veterinary work- things take an awkward, but interesting turn…. A fun read!

This was a great 5 star read. This is my first read from this author and I really enjoyed it.
Lady Isabel is caught trying to right a wrong, however the Viscount doesn’t believe her intentions. He has been trying to find a wife and he thinks he has found the one that can help him. Will Isabel choose marriage or jail?
As these two spend more time together they grow closer. We get twists and turns that add a great element to the story. I loved the connection between these two. I really liked Lady Isabel, she was a strong character and The Viscount, all I can say is he was hawt and perfect. I was really happy with the ending. The Heart of Bakers Bay has just become my favourite read by Danielle Jacks. It is all about finding yourself, growth, and family- wrapped up in a sweet small town romance. Jody’s life is a bit of a mess. She coasts through life one bumble to the next. She can’t seem to hold a job, and if it weren’t for her sister, she would have nowhere to live. Jody has no expectations of herself, no real goals, and her family treat her like a lost hope. Then her grandmother has an accident and next minute Jody finds herself with the task of running her gran’s small town café. Easy peasy, right? Well, not so much. Adam is a local in town who doesn’t have time for outsiders. And definitely this outsider! Things are definitely about to get interesting… I loved the growth and development that Jody went through- she really ‘grew up’ over the course of the story. Adam is so sweet, and he surely wasn’t expecting Jody to come bumbling into his life. But they are both tied together in their desire to help someone in need. A sweet read!

Chatroom With A View by Glenn Maynard turned out to be not exactly what I was expecting. But in a creepy, thrilling, good way. I think I was expecting a bit of a serial killer/true crime expose. But instead, I got an intense thriller that kept me flipping the pages to find out what happens. This is not a light read- it is dark, raw, gritty, gripping, tense, suspenseful, and somewhat creepy. There are twists and turns, dysfunctional family dynamics, some horror, intrigue, danger, and much more. After a bit of a slow and unsteady start- the story quickly grabbed my attention and held my focus the whole way through. I did feel that the ending was a bit rushed- but these minor issues didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the story.

While it is an extremely short story, it felt like it went much faster than I would have ever expected. Short stories are hard for me to get into because they do go by so fast but when I heard about this book I felt like I absolutely needed to read it. Amari loses her grandma, someone she was incredibly close to and has to come to terms with what that loss really means and how to overcome the loss. It is a fantastic way to find a new author to fall in absolute love with, and I highly recommend it. When it comes down to it, this is what I recommend most people to do; is to read a short story or collected short story of an author. I am really looking forward to more from Yvonne Johnson in the future and will be keeping an eye on them to scoop them up immediately.

Another 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 from Author Danielle Jacks!! Nothing like a story being totally engrossed in and never wanting it to end. The story of Jody, whom cannot keep a job nor has very good experiences when it comes to keeping a job. When she goes to Clover Bay to help at her Gran’s cafe after her Gran’s accident, Jody learns so much more. Baking, helping to run a business and new friendships come along. We meet Adam, he is rough around the edges. I totally loved Adam’s character. First impressions when Adam meets Jody, he though she was “high maintenance”. You find out Adam falls for Jody and wants her to believe in herself when no one else can. Jody sees herself as a “mess up”. New friendships, love and loss …. I just loved loved loved this book. So happy for a great epilogue as well.

This was a very well written action packed book. This is my first book by this author and I am hooked. Any book that has a twisting plot, has me intrigued. Love the fact it was easy to read and entertaining. Lots of great morals in this book. I highly recommend it.

Georgia Clay (Southern Promises Book One) by KG Fletcher was a great read! This was a quick and sweet read. Also very steamy so definitely an 18+ book. I loved reading Clay and Katie’s story. They fit together so perfectly! I’ve actually been wanting to read this book and this series for awhile so I’m glad I finally got a chance to and I wasn’t disappointed! By the way this ended I’m pretty sure it’s a stand a long book and series and I can’t wait to read the next installment of this series.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I was blown away. I love a good historical book but she exceeded all my expectations. This is a small book but don’t be fooled. This book will leave a huge impact in your heart. I started to read this story and I was hooked from the first page. I had a lot of different emotions run through me while reading this book. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.
Amari is so sad that her grandmother passed away. She misses all the stories she used to tell her about where her family came from. Amari was so happy when she received a box full of letters from her past. She started reading the letters right away and she couldn’t believe how hard her ancestors fought to be free. Amari finds out the hard and good times they went through. Will Amari get comfort from these stories and feel closer to her grandma or will she feel like she never knew her at all? Jody is what I would call an underachiever. She likes where her life is, and although she’s never kept a job for very long, it’s more about the familiarity with the places and people that she has in Manchester. Shortly after losing her job as a hotel maid, her grandmother in Clover Bay falls and hurts her wrist. Jody promises Adam that there will be a member of her family there the following morning to help. Much to her chagrin, her sister, Hannah, tells her that she will be the one to go to Clover Bay since she made the promise.
Adam is a lifer in Clover Bay. He enjoys his life in Clover Bay and doesn’t like outsiders. After Molly, the owner of The Botanist, Adam calls her granddaughter, Hannah, hoping that she can come and help while Molly recuperates after her accident. Instead, Adam is met by Jody at the top of the hill. She is dressed like a high maintenance, city girl, and he sees her as an intrusion to his quiet hometown.
After talking with Jody, Adam realizes that Jody is insecure. Her failings in life seem to be broadcast as she hopelessly tries to learn how to manage her grandmother’s tea shop and how to bake. Hoping he can make this a little easier, he takes small steps to help her achieve. During his time helping, Adam and Jody grow close. Can a small town man get a city girl like Jody to believe in the small town life? Or will Jody return to her city life?
Danielle Jacks did an amazing job with this sweet story.

Chatroom with a View dives right into the story from the beginning. There isn’t a ton of time spent on setting the scene or providing backstory like in a lot of other novels I’ve read, but I personally prefer this. Troy is a complicated character and I didn’t know how to feel about him. I felt bad for him and at the same time hated him. But he was a well written character that makes you feel many different things. Overall it’s a darker psychological thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The Halfling’s Court is an amazing far story, personally I couldn’t put it down. Ms. Ackley-McPhail gives us everything that we could hope for including drama, fantasy, magic, mayhem and more. Her characters are so descriptive, and her scenery descriptions leave you breathless with the right imagination. Ms. Ackley McPhail certainly has a wild imagination that creates incredible stories for her readers. This will be my second series by Ms. Ackley-McPhail and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I have not read anything by Jane Suen until Beginnings and Endings. I LOVED all three short stories! My favorite was “The End Of Summer.” All of these stories have such emotion and are so powerful. Definitely 5 stars!

Well, I’m not really sure where to start with a review for this book. Chatroom with a View opens with some of the most disturbing chapters of any novel I have read lately. Enter mid-twenty something Troy, still living at home with his parents. He believes that he can keep his mother safe from his abusive father by staying at home. But can he really? Throw in Troy’s ex-girlfriend Veronica–stalker, determined, and claiming to be pregnant, and Troy is overwhelmed by life. When he finally decides to get revenge on those who have messed up his life and others like his, it all falls apart. Veronica begins digging into Troy’s family history, only to learn that Troy’s ancestor is none other than Lizzie Borden.
This is a solid 5 star read. Although I did not connect with the characters because I couldn’t relate to their situations, the story was so twisted, dark, and unpredictable that I was drawn into it anyway. This book is one of the best written ones I have read in a long time. The pace of the story is perfect, and make the book impossible to put down. Highly recommend and will be looking forward to reading more from Glenn Maynard!

Journeys through SpaceTime (Book 1) by James Talisman is an intense page turner! This isn’t a typical genre of book for me to pick up, but I am sure glad I did! This book is so engrossing that it is hard to believe it’s a debut novel. It is quite obvious that the author planned and fleshed out his ideas and plot-line in order to make it not only good, but believable as well. There are several different narratives weaved together, and each one is compelling and unique. I find the story itself to be so interesting, and I love how each character believes and experiences similar things, and yet they are so completely different. Like I said, this story is intense and there is a lot going on straight from the get go, but if you hang with it, it’s totally worth it. That being said, it is not hard at all to get swept up with each character because they are described so well. All in all, the entire novel is well-written, well-planned, and well-executed. I am stoked to get my hands on the next installment and give a 5 star recommendation to this book and author.

This is the 3rd book in The Journals Trilogy series. This is a Romantic Suspense and is just under 4 hours listening time. This is a dark romance so only 18+ should listen and there are situations in the story that could also cause triggers. This story follows Quinn, Stone, and Walker. Due to her past, Quinn has been through the wringer and that has made her stronger. She will do whatever it takes to keep her family safe. Stone guided her to become who she is today. All she wanted was to move forward and away from her past. Stone is there to make sure Walker never comes back. This trilogy was an intense one and the narrator did a fantastic job with it!
