I am not a big sci-fi fan, but man oh man did Mr James have me on this book. His character building and writing is just phenomenal. He sets the world and the scene and brings you into it. I felt like I was a character in the book. That doesn’t happen to me very often. Words cannot describe the emotions that I felt reading this book. I was on a rollercoaster and I didn’t want off. There is so much detail you have to pay attention. I couldn’t put this book down at all. It’s one of those that you start before bedtime thinking you’ll be able to stop and put it down, but next thing you know it’s 5 a.m. and the sun is starting to peek through the blinds. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book!

Lyon Tamer: Nerdy Romcom Adventure by Jen Luerssen is an entertaining and fun book that had me smiling most of the way through. Simone and Sheldon couldn’t be more opposite and yet more right for each other. They had an instant connection and the banter between them was so amusing. I really enjoyed each time they interacted. Considering this was an author I hadn’t even heard of not too long ago she is definitely fast becoming and I author I don’t hesitate to read. Every book is well developed and has a great pace to it – this book being a perfect example of it. This is a highly entertaining book that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The Girl And The Raven is the first book in a YA series by Pauline Gruber.
Lucy’s life changes dramatically after the sudden death of her mother. After a life filled with drama, Lucy craves calmness, but that is certainly not what she gets. Moving in with her two uncles brings new discoveries along with new complications.
I really enjoyed this story. It took me a little while to get stuck in, but once I did I couldn’t put it down. The characters in the book are complex and far from ordinary, which I loved. Lucy in particular is a strong character, and with everything going on she needs to be. I also very much enjoyed the love triangle, it would have been good to hear the story from their point of view too. The twists and turns in this will keep you hooked until the end.

The Heart Of Baker Bay is a great contemporary romance novel by Danielle Jacks. I have previously read a couple of her books and thoroughly enjoyed them so was looking forward to this one. I’m really glad I chose to read this book as I think this is my favourite of her books that I’ve read so far. I totally loved Jody as a character. She feels like the black sheep of the family and for once wants to prove that she can make a go of something. Adam is one of the nicest, sweetest characters that I have read in a long time. I’d love an Adam of my own. He has his own demons to live with that keep him living in the small quiet town of Clover Bay but he has a heart of gold and when he gets to know the real Jody, he wants nothing but the best for her. I loved Jody and Adam’s story. They seemed like complete opposite when they first met but as time progressed you realise that they are actually very similar in many ways. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would definitely recommend it to others.

This was a new series for me to begin, honestly, I should have had some popcorn by my side as I read through it, it was very well written the characters were very likeable, and the events that take place made this a fast read through, and easily gets the reader under the spell! I went to read this at first as I’m a female that identifies in a goth sense love. Plus I love ravens with a passion. So the cover truly drew me in, and then as I read on, I truly fell in love with this wonderful book!
This was a very fun read with a lot of surprising twists, I did not expect at random times. Lucy I cant not say how awesome she is enough. She is a tough cookie, but saying that to describe her is a understatement She is her own person who stands her ground, doesn’t take crud from well anyone even her family. She goes through a traumatic event towards the beginning that forever shapes her path, and though there are two sides she can choose depending what she is drawn to she wants to make her decisions her own. Not what’s right or what’s best and most certainly not what someone else is deciding for her.
For me what truly started my captivation amount the story line for Lucy was the love triangle. I grew up being obsessed with Jacob and Edward from the novel Twilight, but this one went so much on a deeper level and so much extreme. The two love interests, Marcus and Dylan really added a lot of twists and turns. I was instantly drawn to the one interest based on the relationship and ground shared with Lucy but as I read on, I swayed to the other team, and later back etc. The author knew how to keep you interested and make you really think before making a decision. This is only a small fraction in relation to what Lucy was going through.
I must say though, when it comes down to it what I loved the most on this novel, though I loved the heroine, the love interests…all in all what truly captivated my love for this novel and my senses and truly intrigued me was why Lucy is wanted on all ends. Everyone seemed to want to turn her to their side, and use her as a powerful ally against the other sides. Be it witches or demons etc.
Leading up to the well put together ending, I was left beyond interested to put a small word. I was shocked for me personally by how things all came out in the soup pot at the end, some things I kin of expected, or something similar and others I was blown literally out of the water. All in all, this author wrote a very captivating book! And yes I will be happily awaiting for the next in the series for what Lucy and her companions will face next. If I learned anything about Lucy, its that she can handle anything that comes her way! She will be ready, always!
Thank you to this wonderful author for giving me a thrilling, entertaining, and fun read! I look forward to the next one. I truly enjoyed this book, and I’m so very happy I got to experience the adventure. 🙂 It was a well worth reading book, and I cant stress that enough to everyone else. Please, read this and see what I am talking about, as this is not a book series to be missed 🙂

I really loved this story. It is a sweet romance and is also about finding yourself and where you belong. The author does an amazing job with the characters making them come alive and feel real for the reader.
Jody thinks she is a screw up. Every jobs she tries she fails at. She just can’t seem to find her place in the world and figure out what she’s good at. When she gets a call saying her grandmother has had a fall and needs her help Jody takes it upon herself to go to her aid. After all what can happen in a small place running a cafe? And who knows this might just be the place she feels at home?
Adam is a local lad who doesn’t like tourists or outsiders invading his town. After an ex (who was an outsider) left and broke his heart Adam keeps his distance. That is until Jody comes steam rolling into his life. He doesn’t want to like her, he wants to keep far away from her, however something is drawing them together.
Can Adam let his guard down and trust another outsider? Will Jody finally find her place running her grandmother’s cafe? Or will they both be left heartbroken if Jody messed up again and leaves?

This is the third audio book in The Journals Trilogy and I really enjoyed it. Again, the narration was really good and the book was easy to listen to. This really was a great ending to this series, the action was there from the beginning, I actually think this may have been my favourite out of the series – the author definitely seemed to save the best until last. There were some great and unexpected twists and turns in the story which the narrator really brought to life.
Overall a really enjoyable audio book and a great ending to this series! A must listen!

This was a great read with engaging characters and a great story. Chelsea only dates bad boys. Tom is her roommate and her brother’s best friend. After living together for three years, an experiment is hatched. Give Tom 7 days and 7 nights to show Chelsea how she should be treated. The chemistry is great between Tom and Chelsea. They both have history that can keep them from pursuing a relationship, but will it stop them? I enjoyed that even though Tom was a “nice” guy, we also got to see the naughty side. I liked getting to know Nadia, Chelsea’s best friend. I wasn’t so sure about Nadia at first as she came across rude and as just a party girl. As the story continued, she showed her protectiveness over her friend and that Chelsea’s best interests were at heart. I will be looking for the next Pierce Brothers book, Belinda Williams really delivered for me on this book.

If 4.5 stars was a thing, I would have done that! Pauline has a way with telling a story that hooks you from the first sentence. Lucy, our MC, has never had a normal life – but things get so much more insane when she moves to Chicago to live with her two uncles. You get the magical history that she knows nothing about, the insanely attractive guys everywhere she goes, and a big ol’ dash of excitement in every chapter. I read this whole thing in just a few hours and will be continuing the series as soon as possible because I need to know what happens next. Between Marcus and Dylan, Lucy learning to harness her witch and demon sides, and the mystery of what lies ahead – why would you not want to read this series?

This book started out slow for me, but ending up being a great read and I am so glad that I continued on and read it through. Once I allowed myself to submerge fully into the reading I fell in love with Clover Bay and the characters within this story. Jody has had a rough go and doesn’t believe she is capable of doing anything without messing it up. When Molly (the grandma) needs help in her café, Jody gets sent instead of her sister and she starts to discover (with some assistance) that maybe she isn’t as big of a screw up as she always believed she was. Adam has been in Clover Bay all of his life and hasn’t left the small town in quite some time. He prefers the townies over the tourists and isn’t usually one to let his guard down. When Jody arrives, things start to change for him too. I love the characters here – they’re all so relatable and the story itself reminds you that anything is possible and that love is one of the most powerful things in the universe. I haven’t yet read anything else by this author yet, but after this I will be sure to read through as many as I can.

This is my second book by this author and I really enjoyed it, this book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone as I did. I really enjoyed reading this book it was a contemporary romance. I really liked Casey and Setter they were hilarious characters. I enjoyed reading this and I may eventually start making my way through the other books in this series.

I enjoyed my first audible by this author. It is full of action, mystery and suspense. I enjoyed the narrator’s voice as well as how it changed with the different characters. This story is about someone who has had to leave their home to protect their safety but when things lead back to home, things may never be the same again. One of the things I enjoy most about this author is her imagination in her books. They are fun and entertaining. Listening to this just made the story all the more fun. The narrator kept me listening and engaged. I really enjoyed this audible and highly recommend it.

I enjoyed this book. This is a great romance-suspenseful story. This is a well written story that has characters that not only bring the story to life but also kept it engaging to the end. I found this book to be faster paced and has just enough of the romance and suspense to keep you turning pages. The characters pulled me in from the beginning and just made the story for me. They are connectable and made the story easy to read. This is a story about Jessica and Will. Jessica has just opened a bed and breakfast and Will has found himself taking care of his sister’s children. He was only suppose to take care of them short term but now it has become long term. He finds himself trying to keep them safe as well as meeting a hot woman who he is trying to keep his heart safe from. There are twists and turns that kept me wondering what would happen next. I really enjoyed the characters and what they brought to the story. Great growth and entertaining to read. I highly recommend this book.

Leon writes a book full of poetry, prose, and short stories. This book is easy to read and touches on a variety of subjects such as “The Environment” “People and Places” “As I See It” and “The Human Condition.” Being a beginner with poetry, this was a great book to start with. It is well written and definitely heart felt. With such a great variety of poems, I believe there is a poem that will touch everyone in a way. The personal points of view which are portrayed are easily relatable and resonates with me on a personal level.

I enjoyed this romance romcom story. This is a newer author for me which I enjoyed and look forward to seeing what is next for her. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning and kept me engaged to the end. This is a well written story that made me laugh in parts and I enjoyed the connectable characters. They gave life to the story as well as made it fun and entertaining to read. This is a fast paced story about Sheldon and Simone. He is addicted to one night stands and she has one priority which is raising funds for the rescue. What will happen one a chance meeting turns into something neither one was expecting? Will he get another chance at love? I really enjoyed their chemistry and what they brought to the story. They are great characters that I would enjoy seeing more of. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens to these two.

I enjoyed this historical romance story. This is an author that I have enjoyed from the first book I have picked up of hers. This book is no different. This is a well written story that the author used attention to details to give the story a realistic feel. The characters are connectable and bring the story to life. This is a fast paced story that I had a hard time putting it down. This is a story about Elizabeth and her determination to find out why she had to leave without her mother. She now also finds herself in a new town with a new job. Then she meets Campbell and things heat up from here. I won’t say much more as I highly recommend picking up this book. It is a great story that is entertaining and easy to read.
I really enjoyed the story in this book. The way all the different threads weaved together kept me reading to the end. Lots of planning must have gone into this book and there were lots of side characters involved and they really added to the story. They were introduced at a pace so you can get to know them and I can see lots more stories to come involving them. Deva was a character I really struggled to like, and I don’t think I ever did for the entire book. She escaped the brutal MC life and knew she couldn’t safely go back. Yet she exposed herself to the MC groups when she didn’t need to, opening up a huge can of worms that could have easily stayed hidden. She also constantly put herself into dangerous situations she didn’t need to, causing unnecessary problems to the group. I also felt that she inserted herself as the MC expert, even after claiming to have been kept in the dark due to being female, and staying away for 10+ years. I was quite shocked at Deva’s first interaction with Alesei, but it did set the stage for their relationship, which was extremely fast paced from the beginning.
I enjoyed the narration voice, however some of the accents weren’t consistent, especially during conversations where he had to keep switching from British to American. I also found the audio slow, and listened at x1.5 speed, which seemed to suit me.

Taking Flight is book two in the Code of Honor series by Brooke May. A connoisseur of intimate, rocky and relatable love stories, Brooke May provided a complex, yet endearing tale of a beautiful love story. Expect the unexpected with this author, as you are blissfully taken on one crazy ride. Her characters are troubled, with Jody having to contend with her sister and all that is involved. Holt is just the man to help her pave her own way. The family dynamic is often difficult, and this one is no different. The author weaves an intricate and attractive tale that will give you many ahhh moments, as well as what the ??? moments. A bit of everything is thrown into Taking Flight, and it is a story that I thoroughly recommend. 4 stars.

Insta Love was my reaction to this book the second I started reading it. It felt so real like I was right there in whatever scene I was reading about. I loved every one of these characters but what’s amazing is I think my favorite was Sophie and I didnt even meet her in the book. Sophie was Annie’s grandmother who passed away and it was at her will reading where this story begins. Sophie played a huge part in this book and made me laugh more times than I can count. How she affected the people in this town was amazing, I just loved her! Annie’s character was written in a way that had me connecting to her immediately. Her inner dialogue was perfect and she, like most everything else, felt so real. I want to be in her group of friends. Her bff’s were so much fun, and I even feel like I got to know them as well. Then there’s Wyatt..Sigh.. His back story was sad and funny at the same time. His relationship with Sophie had me dying even though he never even knew her LOL He carried his time in the service with him daily and had an amazing support system while trying to heal. I loved his family, his mom, dad, sister and niece and his best friend Griff were awesome! I truly and completely loved this story, I loved the town, and really can’t wait for the next book. CC, Breckin, or Griff, I hope each one gets their own story told because I can’t wait to revisit this town!
Such a smooth flowing book that I got totally lost in. I love the writing style and will be adding this author to my “will read anything by” list.

It is always a treat to find a contemporary romance that seem to focus more on flirting than the steamy. This story of Jody and Adam is refreshing. Jody doesn’t have the greatest record of holding jobs. She thinks she is a screwup. Who wouldn’t with people like her mom and sister always beating her confidence down. An opportunity arises to help out her injured grandmother at her bakery in Clover Bay. There she meets Adam, a handsome man with baggage just like her. Together they try to overcome odds and build a relationship together. Jody finds her voice in Clover Bay and becomes a stronger person with a purpose to her life. Clover Bay sounds like a town the physically fit might want to visit. What great descriptions such as built into a cliff; steep, no bikes or cars. Terrific book.

Lines by Leon: Poems, Prose, and Pictures by Leon Stevens this emotive book is full of many thoughts and doodles and wanderings. It is certainly on book that will make you stop and think and more so at times because I lost my mother recently. It evokes memories of childhood and the wonders of youth whilst also injecting humour making me laugh. If you are up for something a little different then Leon’s book is just the thing.

Now that I have discovered Cooper, I am looking forward to seeking out more of her work. It is an emotional short story, but it packs a punch. Being a mother and a grandmother, I know that I would think about harming anyone who harmed them. But I will not reveal anymore and let you discover and uncover this story all on your own.

The Heart of Baker Bay by Danielle Jacks is a romance story thst will have you turning the pages till the end I truly enjoyed reading this book. I found myself lost in the pages and couldn’t put it down. I’ve read other books by this author but I must say this one is definitely at the top of my favorites list. This is a story about Adam and Jody. She’s not the most reliable person and cant keep a job. Her grandmother has a accident and she finds herself in a situation where she kinda volunteers to help out . Adam didn’t want to like her he thought she was way to high man but he found out he was wrong. Can these two have a relationship together? Can this small town help mend two hearts? Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

This Audio was FANTASIC. This is one of the best books that i have listened/read in a while. There was so many unexpected things that happened in this book! There was a few points while reading i was so sure i knew what was going on but then something would happen and i was left guessing again. It was great and crazy and frustrating but ooohh soo good, The narrators were a perfect pair for this book and they brought this book to life chapter by chapter. I will be reading more by this author in the future and i will also listen to more audios by the narrators too. I would recommend this to a friend. Happy Listening.

Out of Time is the fourth book in the Westbeach series by Toni Denise. This is the first book that I have read by Toni Denise, so I really didn’t know what to expect going into the story. I also didn’t realise going in that this is the 4th book in a series- I was too fixated on the cover and blurb to realise that. Having read the story now, I can say that although it could be read as a standalone, there are definitely times I felt like I was missing something, references were made to things that happened previously, that I am not aware of or don’t have all the details to(?). So, I will definitely be going back to read the other three books to see if having that information on board will enhance my reading experience of this book. Having said that, this was definitely an intriguing romantic suspense that unravelled in a way that kept me thinking, trying to piece everything together before any ‘big reveal’. The author created palpable tension and suspense through her story- which was well done. But I really think I would have enjoyed the book more if I had read the previous books. So, stay tuned, I will revisit this review once I have read the other books to see if they help piece everything together more.

Great Read! Least Likely Suspect: Revenge is my first read by Cooper McKenzie and I was very pleasantly surprised! I wasn’t sure what to expect but I am so happy that I decided to get out of my comfort zone for this one!
Samantha has been through so much, and even thought I can’t relate on the age part, I can relate to the grief of losing someone you love. After the tragic loss of her son Thomas, Samantha wants revenge.
Micha is one of her son’s best friends and he wants to help her. But is this something Samantha can do?
Although it is a short read, there is so much detail packed into this amazingly told story. It is definitely worth the read!

Avenging Devil Part 1: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego By Manda Mellett
Another great book from a great author. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book I have read by this author and this one is no different. I became so invested in Saffie’s story that I couldn’t put the book down. I wanted so much for her and her happiness after what she’s been through the last five years. Niran being the good guy that he is just wants to help her, but that’s not as easy as it would seem. This story took me on an emotional roller-coaster! It is a must read and I cannot wait to get my hands on part two!!! I don’t want to give anything away so I’m just going to say I highly recommend this book!

Cadence Untouched is the first book in the Cadence Duet by Dakota Willink. This second chance romance features Fitz and Cadence. They meet at Camp Riley as teenagers, and again as adults. You need to listen to find out what happens, I’m not telling you. This book had me listening from beginning to end in one sitting. Excellent read! I can’t wait to get the second book.
Zachary Webber and Lacy Laurel narrated this great book. They did a great job, as always. Their voices blend well together and make for an enjoyable listen.

Grumbler!! I cannot say how much I have fallen for this man and am so happy he has finally found his path in Life!! I wasn’t 100% sure how I was going to feel about “older” main characters but between Being Lost and Grumbler’s Rider, I am impressed. I have found I do not mind the character’s ages as long as it is a good read. Manda has not failed in her story lines for the San Diego chapter and I am completely looking forward to reading more of her MC books!
