An Agreement by Lindsay Marie Miller is the third book in her Summer in New York series. This book is a fantastic friends to lovers story that will have you so invested in the characters you won’t want to stop reading.
This author in an author who really knows how to write a good story. As with her other books this one flowed well, had great paced and was interesting. I have always loved a friends to lovers story and for me Lindsay did this so well. I absolutely fell in love with the characters. They were so relatable and engaging. I really believed how strong the feelings Carter had for Bailey were.
All the way through this book the author had me captivated. I hadn’t read any in this series previously and that is something I will be changing immediately.

Tomb For An Eagle by Lexie Conyngham is the first book in the Orkneyinga Murders series. I found this book to be full of mystery and intrigued and was kept guessing all the way to the end.
This book focuses on Scottish and Norse history and weaves a tale so imaginative that at times it was so easy to imagine you were there. The author effortlessly captures your attention. For me I knew I had to read this book from the second I read the blurb and was already trying to figure out what could be going on.
The characters in this book were perfectly written for the story they were in. It felt like they added to the story rather than were happenstance of what was going on. This book was full of details and it really takes you on a journey. Never at any point was it obvious as to who the killer would be or dull as we were taken on the investigate journey.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I loved the level of detail in it and I loved how it felt like it was true to the time it was set in. I am looking forward to reading whatever comes next in this series.

Caught in Make-Believe by Sharleen Scott is the third book in her The Caught series. This book can be read as a standalone although I feel as a reader you would benefit from starting at the beginning of the series to get the full background and character build up. However it is not necessary and does not take away from the story.
This was a new author for me and I loved how intrigued she kept me throughout the story. I couldn’t wait to find out who was behind the threat to Jace and Samantha. I couldn’t wait to see if they would find a way to make their relationship work. The chemistry and attraction between them was obvious and believable right from the word go.
The way in which this story was built up help to build the interest and keep you hooked all the way through. The story and characters were well developed and created a depth to the story that made it even better.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I will definitely be going back to read the whole series.

My Tragic Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel by Necie Navone is the second book in the My Life series. In this book we get to see more into the mob life and what it means to be a Princess to a leading family. We also get to see what it means to have an enemy target you for being a part of that family.
The main character of this book is just as strong and interesting to read about as book 1. This book does well to whet your appetite even more. It builds well on book one while leaving you excited for book three. This is a great series and one I would highly recommend reading.

Isabella’s Painting: A Notorious Art Heist Mystery by Ellen Butler is the first book in the Karina Cardinal Mystery series. Steeped in history of an actual painting that was stolen this book will take you on an exciting journey.
This is the first book I have read by this author and the first time I had heaerd of the Boston Garden Museum robbery and I was surprised by how much the author piqued my interest. I loved the idea of the book being based on a real life mystery. Karina as a character was the perfect person to fall into this book with. Her character helped to build up the mystery and suspense while also providing a bit of light hearted comic relief.
The author did really well at balancing the two while also creating a fully believable, and fully enjoyable, story. Her writing style had a great ebb and flow to it also. She knew exactly when to build the story and get you as the author involved and when to ease off a little so that it wa never too much.
Overall I found this to be an interesting read that was well developed creatively with strong characters to back up the story. I can’t wait to see what else is to come from this series and I will certainly be looking into more of the authors work.

It Ends Tonight by A.M. Myers is the fourth book in her Bayou Devils MC series. This is a stand-alone book however the whole series is definitely worth a read.
The book is all about family. The author weaves a story about loyalty and hardship that will tug at your heartstrings. Both the main characters understand what it is like to only have a small unit to rely on.
Each page really showcases the emotions in this book and helps to add depth to the overall story.
This book has to be my favourite in the series so far because I just found it so relatable, so believable. It was easy to get lost in the characters journey and find yourself wanting to know more. This was a brilliant book and one I could highly recommend.

Killmore by Martha Sweeney is a fast paced and intriguing book. It will sink it’s claws into you on page one and will leave you on the edge of your seat waiting for book 2.
This author is a new author to me and I was blown away by how well she creates such an interesting and intense story. The writing helps paint a clear picture of what is happening and be characters, it is easy to imagine everything that is happening.
The more I read of this book the more I wanted to read, the more I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen. This is a brilliant book and one I thoroughly enjoyed. I cannot wait to dive into book two.

The Nearness of You by KG Fletcher is a story about chance meetings and taking an opportunity when it is presented to you.
I am familiar with this author although not overly so. That meant I wasn’t quite sure still what to expect when starting this book. I can honestly say I really enjoyed it. Lauren and David have instant chemistry and it is entirely believable. I found myself firmly on Lauren’s side before I could get too far into the book. I wanted things to work out for her. I wanted her to like David. I wanted them to make it work.
The author has this way of writing that just effortlessly draws you into the story and the characters. Without even realising it you are hooked. This book was so easy to read and one that was so easy to enjoy. It has great characters and a great storyline – what more could you possibly want?

  1. Truly Unfortunate by C.A. King is the first book in her Welcome to Knollville series. This is a twisted but brilliant fantastic story about Truly. She has no memories of her childhood. But sessions with a doctor start to reveal disturbing visions. Visions that leave a lingering feeling of death.
    And Truly starts to wonder if there is more going on when bodies start to turn up. Is it all connected? And if so, how? What could to have to do with her kissing childhood memories?
    This book is just as good as every other book I have read by this author. She has such a way of spinning a story that hooks you right from the start and does not let go. I loved the characters of Truly and Jeff. I loved the story in this book. I really enjoyed how they all worked together. I could not put this book down once I started reading and I am looking forward to seeing what comes next in this series.View all my reviews

The Fifth Knight: An Arthurian Legend Reverse Harem Romance by Claire Luana and Jesikah Sundin is the first book in the The Knights of Caerleon series.
This book is not only a great collaboration of two authors – one I have read before and enjoyed the work of, one who was entirely new to me – but this is also a great reimagining of Arthur and The Knights of Camelot story that everyone knows. This book takes the tale and completely twists it.
With the addition of a fifth, female Knight the authors manage to evolve a well known story and make it their own. The book was well written and well developed, with a clear direction. The characters worked well, you got the almost familiarity in Arthur as a character we already know all about, along with the newness of Fionna.
For me this was a great first book to the series and I am looking forward to reading more.

For me this was an “in-one-sitting” book. Once I had started I couldn’t put this book down. Fe and Elliot are are brilliant characters. They had me laughing my way through this book they were so entertaining.
The overall story was great as well. The book fight lighthearted and fun but still had good substance to it. This was a new author for me but I will be looking into more of her work ASAP!

Born to Fight by Brittany Anne is the first book in her Can’t Resist You series. This book will have you hooked from the start and on the edge of your seat.
For me this book was so good because it was so believable. It is easy to picture how the scenario in this book could come to odd. The writing had be enthralled in what was happening.
The characters were great as well. Hunter and Rain are both just trying to find ways o survive in this new world. And yet one thing they overlooked is the need to have someone on your side. Their connection was great. It was obvious to see right away and was convincing all the way through the book.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I am looking forward r exploring more of her work!

Jesse by Desiree Lafawn is the third book in her Glass City Hearts series. This book can be read as a stand-alone although all are definitely worth reading.
Jesse has had a hard upbringing. With an emotionally absent father he has learnt the hard way that he has to stand on his own two feet. And the way he grew up has effected his adult life. He doesn’t want a family, doesn’t expect to find love. But when he meets Harlow everything starts to change.
A single mother she is everything he should stay away from. And yet he finds himself drawn to her, finds he can’t stay away. And the more time he spends with her Jesse starts to learn that, unlike what his father always said, blood isn’t always thicker.

This series just gets better and better. This book has to be my favourite so far. I loved Harlow as a character. I loved that the author made her completely unlike the usual heroine type. She was strong and independent and completely unfeminine in the best kind of way. This is a great book and a great series, I would highly recommend them!

Across from you by Amabel Daniels is a fun and entertaining read that kept a smile on my face the whole way through.
Regan has sworn off all men. After her last breakup she knows it is the right decision. But when she sees the sexy guy modelling in her art class she can’t help but be interested.
When she meets Jack again in an even more unexpected place it is maybe time to explore their chemistry a little more.

I found this book to be so entertaining. More than once I laughed at Lexi and Jack. Their interactions were all brilliant. The way it was written helped to make the book fun and humorous but is also had a good story that keeps you engaged. And overall great book.

The Confectioners Exile by Claire Luana is the prequel book in her The Confectioners Chronicles series.
In this novella we get to see more into Hale’s backstory and the journey he went on before joining The Confectioners Guild. Although this book can be read as a stand-alone – it is a prequel after all – for me I felt that it was better to have read it in he order intended. It helped to give a better understanding of the overall story.
I absolutely loved this book. I felt it added value to the series and was such an enjoyable read. Novellas aren’t usually my favourite kind of books and yet with this one it didn’t feel rushed or like anything was missing. The author successfully takes you on a journey separate to the main series while also adding to the main story. A great read and a series I would truly recommend.

Six years later he has made a new life for himself. Even if it isn’t what he expected it would be, it is something. And if he is still haunted by his past? He doesn’t let anyone close enough to him for it to matter.
Until he meets Kira. She bursts into his life and sets about trying to make herself a part of it. And even though she claims it is temporary Jamie knows he can’t let her get close, knows he has nothing to offer her. And yet the chemistry between them is undeniable. Maybe he won’t be able to stay away.

This was the first book I had read by this author and I really enjoyed it. The whole book was emotional and really draws you in. I felt connected to both Jamie and Kira. Their stories were believable and relatable. They worked really well together as characters. I will certainly be looking into more from this author.

The Confectioners Guild by Claire Luana is the first book in The Confectioner Chronicles. This book is a great example of a YA fantasy novel and is one I would highly recommend.
Wren loved to bake. And everyone was always receptive of what she made. However Wren never expected to find out that could be because they are magic. From the moment she finds out though she is thrust into a whole new world
And not only does she find out about the magic she is also accused of murder by magic!
Wren sets out to find out who the real culprit is and clear her name – quickly before she is framed for a murder she didn’t commit.

I have read books before by this author and always really enjoyed them but this book has to be my favourite so far. It is such a unique idea that really appealed to me. I loved Wren’s character. I was sucked into her journey immediately and could not stop reading about her adventures. This is a brilliant start to a new series.

  • Ring Tru by Janice M. Whiteaker is the first book in the Thick as Thieves series. For me this book caught my attention with the blurb – I hadn’t read a romance book before that involved a thief as a main character. And it worked really well.
    Tru and Will were believable, not only as characters on their own but also as ones together. You could feel the connection between them which made them so easy to connect with.

    This book was as good as the first, if not better. Because the characters were so well developed in book one it was extremely easy to slip back into their story. I couldn’t wait to find out how this story would develop and I was definitely not disappointed. Alessandra learns very early on in her life how dangerous being part of her family can be. It is a lesson she is taught in the most harsh of ways. And yet Alessandra knows that she must step up to be the leader of her family, to be everything she knows she can be and more.
This book was brilliant. It has you hooked immediately. The writing completely draws you in. I liked how the POV varied as it made the book even more interesting. Alessandra was a great character to read about – she was strong and determined. This was a great book and I cannot wait to read more.

Silk Road by Lynda Filler is the sixth book in her Code Raven series. This is a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat and reading right to the end.
This book has a complex and intriguing story line. There are many different things going on. Things that at first might not seem linked. But not everything is quite that clear cut.
The author takes you on a journey full of twists and turns. The writing draws you in from the start and makes sure not to let you go at all. I found that I had to read this book in one sitting because I wanted to know what was going on. And to read about all the “old gang” again was great. It is always nice to step back into such interesting and well established characters. This was another great addition to the series.

Beckoned Part 5: Adrift in Costa Rica by Aviva Vaughn is an incredibly well written book. It is part of a series that personally I think needs to be read in order.
This time we delve further into the life of Soren as he jets off to Costa Rica. This is a book I am so glad the author decided to write. Getting to see more of Soren is something I was hoping for and this book lives up to every expectation I could have hoped for. He was a character I already liked but can easily say I love even more after reading this book.
This whole series has been well written and addictive and this book is no exception.

Redemption by Meghan O’Flynn is the fifth book in her Ash Park series. As gripping and intense as the others this book is a must read.
Detective Petrosky is haunted my memories of his daughter. He is haunted by memories of a killer and he is haunted be memories of another young woman. One who reminds him of his daughter.
He is so haunted by everything in his past that he wished he could just end it all. Until he receives a phone call – the one that could change everything.
Detective Petrosky is forced to put his grief on hold to throw himself back into a fight he thought long over. The question is, who will be the victor.
This series is such a strong series. Each book has you hooked and this one was no different. The story takes you on a fast paced and intense journey, one that you will never be sure as to what the outcome will be. It will have you not wanting to put the book down until it is over. Meghan O’Flynn has done it again and produced a book that is so easy to read. Definitely worth recommending!

Each of these books features a different couple but each book is just as good as the others. The plots are varied and the characters are all different but completely relatable. The author knows how to weave a tale that will keep you thoroughly entertained. If you haven’t done so already I would recommend reading these books immediately.

Deadly Alliance by Maddie Wade and India Kells is a Fortis/Purgatory crossover novel. This is a great combining of authors who, both in their own right, are authors I would happily read every time.
Each of these series have been good reads and this crossover works so well. The way the characters are worked in together was brilliant. You could see each of the different authors styles but you could also see the compatibility between the two.
Although I did find the main storyline to be a little bit obvious I still liked how fast paced the book was and how it still managed to keep my attention. I still found myself engaging with the characters and looking forward to what would happen next.
This is a great collaboration that I hope we see more of in the future.

Larkin has fought her way to success. And she is continuing to fight her board of directors to get what she wants. But she finds herself needing to take a step back when she starts receiving threatening messages.
With her life taking a sinister turn Larkin has to work hard to keep everything from falling apart. Because if she doesn’t, she could lose not only her career but also her life.

This book was incredible. The plot was so intriguing from start to finish. The number of times o thought I had everything figured out only to then change my mind. I loved how this author kept me on my toes throughout. I also really enjoyed Larkin’s character. She is the kind of character that completes makes a book – strong but with the softer side. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.

Credence Woods by Alexandria Sure is a book that will capture all of your emotions and not let them go.
This is a book that I have been waiting for, for so long. I didn’t realise this was the follow up to In The Pursuit of Charity until I was a few chapters in but once I did nothing could have made me put this book down.
This book tore my heart to shreds more than once, and in ways I didn’t expect, only to slowly, page by page, but the pieces back together again. This book had me smiling and it had me crying. I was just as immersed in this book as I was he first even though it wasn’t the story I expected it would be.
Alexandria Sure is an incredible author whose writing grips hold and won’t let you go, even after you have finished reading. I love how she writes the story that the characters deserve, taking you as the author on a journey. This book was absolutely brilliant and I cannot recommend it more.

Jokers Fool by Amanda Mellett is a Satan’s Devils MC novel. Full of intrigue and tension and will be sure you draw you in.
I’m not sure what I was expecting when I read this book but I hadn’t been expecting it to be about two male main characters. However I think, for me, that just made it so much better. I didn’t see it coming so when it did it sucked me straight in.
I loved that both characters were flawed, t made them so perfect for each other. And I loved that the author didn’t just rely on it being a M/M story, that there actually a great storyline.
I have read other books by Manda Mellett but I have to say this one is definitely my favourite so far.

Self Love: A British Tale of Woe and Wit by TL Clark is an easy read an a great way to pass a few hours.
The book is about Molly, a florist who is hoping to be able to change her ways in order to find happiness. It is a story that most will be able to relate to in one way or another as there isn’t ever a person that hasn’t questioned things at one time or another.
The story to the story is a bit awkward I found. It felt a little difficult to get through and to engage with. However I am pleased I stuck with it as for the most part the story was enjoyable and it even had me laughing at times. I especially liked that the humour was very British. Being British myself I find it appealing when I come across a book that has this type of humour to it. All in all a good book.

The Boss by Abigail Owen is an unexpected but brilliant story.
Finn knows heartbreak. He knows the pain of loss. And he knows that it isn’t worth going through for a second time. Instead he has made his team of dragon enforces his family, that way he won’t have to risk anything again.
He definitely won’t have to risk finding his mate and putting her through the same process that killed his last mate.
But then he meets Delaney. Clueless Delaney who doesn’t understand why fires keep occurring around her. Who has had to rely on him and his team for protection. Finn is determined not to fall for her, not to put himself through the same again. But he might not have a choice in the matter when someone else steps up to claim her.

I was really excited to get stuck into this book and it certainly didn’t disappoint. I found this to be an interesting and unique story. I loved Finn. I thought it was really easy to become invested in his story and his emotions. Delaney, for me, was exactly right for him. I am hoping we get to see more from these enforcers in the future!
