Proper Impulse (Jaded Lily Book 4) by Zeia Jameson – Review by Lisa Helmick

Whoop! Whoop! I LOVED this story! I really enjoyed these two spitfire characters. Each trying desperately to hold onto their beliefs. They are like oil and water. These well written characters make a huge splash! Then add in the wonderful story that surrounds them and this is a recipe for success.

Milo is so uptight and such a rule follower and Juniper is so open hearted that when they clash it’s an explosion. I love the nickname she calls him. But once the nice Milo comes out things change a bit. The look they give each other is so intense…I can feel that! Then Milo goes and opens his mouth and Boom!…there goes the moment. Hahaha! He is forever inserting Foot in mouth around Juniper.

This author does another amazing job with these characters. Even though this is a Novella I don’t feel anything is missing from this wonderful story. Each character had growth and the story rounded out nicely. This is a funny, OMGosh and “He DIDN’T just do/say that!” type of story with a hidden gem underneath.

Two Hearts Under Fire (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 8) By Tamara Ferguson – Review by Lisa Helmick

TWO HEARTS UNDER FIRE (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 8)TWO HEARTS UNDER FIRE by Tamara Ferguson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This starts with action and just keeps going. I love that because it keeps me focused on the budding romance as well as worrying about the safety of our main characters. Russ is in a difficult position. But he doesn’t let that deter him from doing what he thinks is right. He has had a difficult life but has overcome so much. Claire we learn about bit by bit as the story moves forward. She is running and hiding but once her life collides with Russ’ she seems to finally feel safe.

This isn’t my first story by this author. It is one of my favorites. The wonder the characters portray over different situations was lovely. She seems to write real feelings I to her character. I enjoyed all the characters even Rusty. As Stated above the story moves along as a good clip. It’s full of action and suspense.

I have really enjoyed reading this story! It’s So So Good! This isn’t my first book by this author but I think it’s her best. She really was able to keep my interest through the whole story. Her characters were lively and I really just wanted to know who would Sidney end up with. The shift between each characters storytelling was so seamless! The best I have seen in awhile. I loved reading this from everyone’s POV.

Each of the main characters brought something to the story. The haughtiness, the best friend and the scoundrel all were great. The inquisitiveness of Sidney was perfect for her role as well. Her girl friend was a lovely addition as well. She is stout and ready for anything that Sidney would suggest. I’m sure something happened with Sophie at the brothel and I look forward to finding out in her book. I’m not sure if the male character will be able to be redeemed but I am sure this author will give it a good try.

This is a wonderful historical romance where the female lead is looking to change a few things about the women in her period. Does she succeed? I can’t say but it was terribly enjoyable finding out.

A Divided Mind by M. Billiter – Review by Lisa Helmick

A Divided MindA Divided Mind by M. Billiter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I am not even sure what I want to write about this story. I thought it was going to be a mystery/suspense for some reason. It’s more about coming to terms with mental illness. This is on the heavy side because it’s a teen. So we learn a bit on how he deals with it as well as how his family learns about it and how they deal with it. At the beginning it seemed very confusing. I read the first couple chapters more than once. Trying to figure out whom was actually talking. It said at the beginning of the chapters who it was about but it was misleading in the chapter. I think the author tried to add some trickery at the end as well but it seemed to again confuse me. Anyway this is story is insightful and horrid at the same time. The author did a good job showing the reader both. I was happy at the ending but the Epilogue just threw me for a loop. Now I don’t know what to think.

This isn’t my first book by this author. I enjoy her storytelling and her characters always seem so life-like. The book read choppy for me at first but then smoothed out.

Tails Always Wins (Chasing Tails Book 1) by C.A. King – Review by Lisa Helmick

Tails Always WinsTails Always Wins by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is an interesting story. I enjoyed reading it and getting to know Brody and Tails. They met under precarious circumstances. Each thought they were doing the right thing. But evil is afoot and once they are aware of it will they change their path?
This story drew me in at the beginning and held on til the end. Some shocking things happen when the evil rises. I liked Brody for his no nonsense attitude. I think he was working himself into a pickle just because of the bogus laws being put Into place. Luckily Tails showed up to lead him astray…..or away.

I do want to make mention of the amazing cover! Very Cool looking!

Orion's KissOrion’s Kiss by Claire Luana
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this story. The characters are fun, interesting and hard to let go of. The story is full of Greek mythology with a modern twist. We meet the ancient ones in a current day setting with a penchant for the past. Meriah and Zoe are great HS best friends. They are the typical teenagers. Joking, laughing and sharing everything. While we don’t know a lot about Ryan and Brandon’s background they also have a typical bro relationship for high schoolers. When they all pair up things really start moving. There were many times I was surprised at what and how things were happening. Not bad… just shocking and many OMG’s

This isn’t my first book by this author. I love how smooth her stories flow. They are so comfortable and easy to read. I feel like I am meeting and hanging out with new friends. I loved reading this and enjoyed meeting these wonderful characters.

This is another great short story filled with action. This is a wonderful series that has held me captivated with each book. In here Blackbirds Mother is kidnapped and the team goes into rescue her. All kinds of things happen and they wonder if they will get her out. This one kind of rounds out the series as we circle back to the beginning. Blackbird has been through a lot and I’m not sure if she will stay or wander back to her previous life.
This is the fourth book in this series. As stated above it is full of action, drama and deliberations. A wonderful quick read.

Beau & Bett by Kathryn Berla – Review by Lisa Helmick

Beau and BettBeau and Bett by Kathryn Berla
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is loosely set along the Beauty and the Beast storyline. Although the roles are reversed here. I really didn’t see the Beast come out via dialogue or actions. Bett was a surprise to me. I expected her to be snotty, uptight and ungracious. She is none of those things. Beau was a nice guy and he was always looking at the good side.

I wish there waS more on his family that we are introduced to in the beginning. They all seemed so interesting. The chapters were very short and I felt the story moving along quickly that way. There did seem like a bit much of the second by second on some things. I wonder if it could have been glossed over to move the storyline along. This will be a good read for teens.

Scarlet Fever: A Crime ThrillerScarlet Fever: A Crime Thriller by David Stever
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a fast paced old style mystery. It is full with top notch sleuthing. The characters are full of curiosity and smarts. There are a few main characters and many secondary characters. They made me smile and wonder what could possibly happen next. This story starts off with a bang and keeps moving until the very end. Not sure if I could be a PI…Watching DeLarosa go through the paces to try to figure out who is really behind these incidents. Some times seem very exciting but other times the sitting and waiting would be too much. I did love his insight into his trusting and no trusting of people.

This is a first time author for me. I enjoyed the trip he took me on. If you are interested in sleuthing and mob connections mixed with unknown people and a couple million dollars…pick this up.

The Girls across the Bay (The Knox and Sheppard Mysteries, Book 1) by Emerald O’Brien – Review by Lisa Helmick

The Girls Across The Bay (Knox and Sheppard, #1)The Girls Across The Bay by Emerald O’Brien
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a wonderful murder mystery. When a dead body is found the two woman report and investigate upon it. While doing this it brings up the past which was filled with foster homes and abusiveness but also how they became friends. The two ladies were wonderfully written as we learned what haunts them as the story moves forward. Sometimes I am not a fan of the past dumped into the present but this time it was done tastefully. The secondary characters were done nicely as well. They helped move the story along without overshadowing the main characters. This is my first book by this author and she wrote a wonderful intriguing story with great characters. I recommend this if you enjoy a suspenseful tale filled with murder and intrigue.

The Fisher Men X My HeartThe Fisher Men X My Heart by Rebel Nicks O’Dey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an AH-MAZ-ING story! The story and the characters are simply wonderful! I LOVED each of these characters. Each of them brought so much to the story! They are quirky, fun and downright serious.

Samantha is the main female character. She made me feel wonderful and horrible then she made me love her. She just filled the story with her thoughts and actions. I loved all her ideas on the Fisher boys. How she can choose one of those Fisher boys is beyond me! But Day-um did she choose a good one!

All of the secondary characters were superb. The females are strong independent along with some fun and sass. All of the males were undeniably HOT. Don’t worry they have other tributes as well. Each was written so well I could easily tell who was who by their thoughts and characteristics. It is so easy to be fully invested in all of these characters.

I love all the little additives that make this story unforgettable. The dinners at the Fishers, the pet names and of course the last couple chapters. SQUEE!!! This literally brought me happy tears!!!

Sweetheart, My Sammy, Sam I Am and My Girl….I just love those guys!

What a cool idea for a Paranormal story! A hotel with a floor and secret area for Paranormals to be themselves. I enjoyed these characters! They were fun and full of wonder. It took me a bit to understand who and what Link was let alone why he was so curious and excited about meeting Ommily. Once I figured all that out I was golden!

The secondary characters were fun and added a lot of smiles to the story. I would have hoped each of them would have gotten their own story in future books. I think we will be finding out more and more about Link and Ommily in future books but that seems up in the air. The book ends not on a cliffhanger but leaves the reader wondering how the characters will move forward.

This is the fifth book in the Paranormal Talent Agency series. This one covers Councilwoman Barbara who is the head demon on the LV area. She has been the bad or almost bad guy in the previous books. In this one we learn more about what makes her tick. Plus we learn about her past with a certain gentleman.

This is the fifth book I have read by this author. The story fits in Nicely with the previous ones and moves along at a good speed. We get to see some characters we know and meet some new ones. Another good story in the series.

Ruin: The El Diablo Chronicles by Autumn Sand – Review by Lisa Helmick

Ruin: The El Diablo ChroniclesRuin: The El Diablo Chronicles by Autumn Sand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The reasons to LOVE this story! First it’s loaded with characters that we have previously met and adore. Second we finally…finally get to learn what’s up with Tallie. Thirdly we learn more about El Diablo and his BFF Chicken. I enjoyed the dynamics between El Diablo and Chicken…I really thought these are two cold blooded killers. El could be so cold and ruthless to people even Tallie. While I hated El upon the first few meetings between him and Tallie I eventually saw through his words to the man underneath. Plus when she was going to walk out on him…in the kitchen…what he said? ….so uncharacteristic of him. That makes me believe in him.

I absolutely loved Tallie’s “real” name. But her earlier life I could have done without. I really felt for this poor girl and can see why she is the way she is now. Her life just ripped my heart out. In previous books Tallie wasn’t a well liked character because of her actions. I am glad she got her own story and her own ending.

This book is full ON emotional and brutally honest. I ran a gambit of emotions while reading including shock more than once. I can see why the author struggled to get this one out. As previously stated I loved these characters before and now that encompasses Tallie, El and even Chicken. This is a stand alone book and not for the faint of heart. For those that love a walk on the darker side….pick this up. I would recommend reading the Twisted Heart Series as some of the characters overlap. As usual Autumn Sand does not disappoint. She is a one click for me.
BTW—Great Cover!!

Kingdom of War (Kingdom Journals Volume 4) by Tricia Copeland – Review by Lisa Helmick

Kingdom of WarKingdom of War by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is full of action and suspense. Every page I turn there is something else happening. Will Theron find them? What does DJ have that can help them? Will they find all three pieces in time? Will the trinity be able to stop Thanatos? These kids travel all over the globe looking for all the pieces of the Lance. While saving the souls isn’t their only quest in this story…there are repercussions that cause more problems.

While all the characters have been together previously I really enjoyed DJ. He is new to the group(like me reading this). He is fun and cautious but full of energy. He also loves finally having a brother. I love his enthusiasm. Hunter is the MC. He goes through his test and accumulates a lot of power. As he learns to control it some crazy things happen. Will his power be enough to help him win the war? If it does…what happens after?

I enjoyed reading this. The relationships between all the characters were good. There are a TON of characters in here. I have not read the other books in this series and really had no trouble following along. They did reference some things that had happened in the past books thAt sound interesting. So I would suggest starting the series at the beginning. The characters are vampires and witches working together…which I enjoyed. The story flows very nicely and the drama and action easily kept me interested.

The Good Neighbors by Kiersten Modglin – Review by Lisa Helmick

The Good NeighborsThe Good Neighbors by Kiersten Modglin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

WHAT A RIDE! This book was much more than I expected it would be. Definitely a little thriller with a lot of psychological suspense! Do you have a fear of something? Maybe noises or the basement when you are home alone at night? (I mean who doesn’t? Right) This book plays on those fears. The author grabs them and pulls them forward until you can’t help but feel for these characters. Afraid, Scared and Worried. I started this and read late into the next morning. I could NOT put this one down. I needed to see what happens and whose digging the biggest hole. You know that hole right? It starts of with a little slip up then becomes a monster then you don’t know how to fill that hole back up to put things back to normal….and it just keeps growing…and growing. I loved how in this book everything started out small and slowly the characters are pulling their hair out and they don’t know how they got to that point. I mean it’s perfect..just perfect!

This author did an Ah-mazing job with this story! The creation of the situation these people find themselves in can so easily happen in real life. Scary! The writing flowed so nicely and the characters were spot on! This is a first time author for me and it won’t be the last! I plan on checking out her other books and recommending this one to many people!

Queen of the Warrior Bees (Natural Forces Book 1) by Jean Gill – Review by Lisa Helmick

Queen of the Warrior Bees (Natural Forces #1)Queen of the Warrior Bees by Jean Gill
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is quite the story. A whole new world full of rules, Magic and political intrigue. The story drew me in and only got more interesting as we learned more about the Citadel and the Forest. The author did a wonderful job with her descriptive paragraphs Letting the reader follow along on the journey. The characters really have quite the life going. Some of the stuff that goes on behind these walls is crazy. The bees….well I kind of feel they are the stars. I loved reading about their life and though process and such. Not doubting everything that Mielitta went through and I did love her connection to the other three characters we got to read about.

This is a first time author for me. This is a good teen magical story. Imaginative and full of adventure!
Oh Hey….Did you see that wonderful cover! Perfectly fits the story!

Behind Blue Eyes (Stockholm Murders Book 1) by CS Duffy – Review by Lisa Helmick

Behind Blue EyesBehind Blue Eyes by C.S. Duffy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a wonderfully put together murder mystery. The author does a good job of laying the false and true tale at the same time. They characters were interesting, likable and unlikable at the same time. The story flowed fairly well. It kept me wanting to know more so i read this fairly quickly.

This had to be tough on Ellie. Moving to a new place, learning their customs and not really having the support of her main squeeze. I agreed with many of her actions but I would not put up with the rudeness that followed. It would have been “London here I come!” The other characters were the likable and unlikable kind. Maybe aloof would be a better term. Cool to Ellie but super friendly to Johan. While I didn’t love them they added to the story moving along at a good pace.

The ending was stuff nightmares are made of. I was cringing and, OK I’m am just going to say it….shocked. I am definitely “in” for the next book because who knows what will happen now.

My only complaint would be at the beginning chapters is to say who is giving their POV of the story. The first few chapters were a struggle for me because I wasn’t sure who was talking and what tense (present, past) we were in. I guess as the book moved on it became mostly clear who was telling the story.

Furbidden Attraction: A Cursed Romance (Raven Falls Cursed Romances Book 1) by R. O’Leary – Review by Lisa Helmick

Furbidden Attraction: A Cursed RomanceFurbidden Attraction: A Cursed Romance by R. O’Leary
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a crazy laugh out loud story. It is full of antics and things that make you go”WHA? Did she just do that?” I can see why Jack is so enamored with Louisa. The way she acts just puts a smile on my face. Her singing in the rotted out house? Such a wonderful add!! Don’t worry there are many more crazy things that happen to Louisa or Jack. Even their language to each other puts a smile on my face.

Jack is a thoughtful, kind, charming guy who happens to sprout fur. Oh I think I forgot charismatic and sexy with abs like a washboard. I was surprised at how light Jack was considering his job in the Den. I thought it would make him dark and broody. The lightness in him does help transmit his golden boy looks though. While he feels a connection to Louisa he is not…NOT her mate. The more he tells himself that doesn’t make it true. Louisa is sassy and smart and I love her whole hair issue. She seemed so easy going about the whole shifter thing. She doesn’t deny her feelings for Jack which is nice.

The secondary characters add just as much fun and laughter to this story as the main characters. I felt they deserve a mention as they are well rounded and I can’t wait to see their stories.

I was not a fan of the Epilogue simply because it gave away ending information for the next book. This is a first time author for me and I really enjoyed her writing style. Although the book did seem a bit long and at times brought in characters and dropped them..never to be seen again. Overall I loved the story and the characters and have already purchased the second in the series.

The Matchmaker’s Match (Man’s Best Friend Book 3) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Lisa Helmick

The Matchmaker's Match (Man's Best Friend, #3)The Matchmaker’s Match by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the third book in this series but can easily be read as a stand alone. I enjoy the whole “dog” aspects of these books. They are written like secondary characters and not just as home decor. Lincoln is a character from book 1 (which I haven’t read) and it’s finally time for him to get his romance on. He has seen his best friends life and decides he would like that for himself. When Linc and Meredith first meet…its H-O-T! A one night stand of fun! Both are beyond shocked upon meeting again a month later.

Meredith is a good character but I almost felt Linc’s plight more. I don’t think Merediths character went deep enough. She seems very soft and kind although at times single minded. She does have some good supporting characters. Linc has his own concerns but once he connects with Meredith he starts placing hers before his. Which should mean something right? I loved his excitement over working again and seeing him at work with his dog.

Overall this is a good story. It lightly touches on a few things but doesn’t let them weigh down the story. The book is quick and easy to read. The story flows nicely and the characters are so cute. As mentioned before I also enjoy the whole dog theme running through the books.

A Deal with Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Lisa Helmick

A Deal with Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack, #4)A Deal with Death by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

While I enjoyed this story it was a little out of my realm. There was a lot of voodoo talk, Ghosts and going back Into the past. This does focus on the relationship between James and Odette. I really liked James in previous books and while he didn’t disappoint he didn’t raise any higher either. Odette is into voodoo and after a childhood accident she doesn’t practice as much as she used to. She has tight control on herself and has become very stodgy. James wants to break that control but something else is in the mix. Can they survive what is coming?

This is my fourth book in the series. Each one is different and it’s Not Necessary to have read them first. Again the story was a little off for me…I did learn a lot about Voodoo practices and guardians but to me it seemed to stray away from the werewolf packs. The characters seems nice and strong but I didn’t love them like I was expecting too. Was I on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen? Yes I was but it didn’t seem enough. Sorry this one just fell short for me.

RETURN (Rewind Book 2) by Rowan Shaw – Review by Lisa Helmick

Return (Rewind #2)Return by Rowan Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

While i ended up loving this book at first I really was feeling very little to no connection to either character while I was reading. Raphaël was living in his own world with little to no interaction with Adrien. Adrien was so closed off and gave minimal information about himself. Little bits and pieces were fed to us along the way but once Adrien opened up to Raphaël all things changed. I was *FLOORED* over what came out of his mouth. When he freaked out on Raphaël with his verbal diarrhea…the pieces finally made sense. The friendship started from there with undercurrents of something else. From that point on i was easily hooked on these two characters.

This is the second book in this series and by this author for me. I liked getting to know Raphaël more and meeting Adrien. Adrien’s life..I can’t even imagine… but i think he is happy with it to an extent. There are some things missing from his life and once Raphaël shows up things start to change inside him.

All of the secondary characters were good. They fit in perfectly with the story and held their places. I loved seeing Raphaël’s parents again. They are truly wondrous!

My only issue with the book was I did have a few moments when I had to google to figure out what a few items and terms were. So maybe the author could have included an explanation when it was first mentioned to help any confusion to any reader.

I see Parker’s story is next! I can’t imagine what is in store for him!

Never Let Me Go (Bayou Devils MC Book 6) by A.M. Myers – Review by Lisa Helmick

Never Let Me Go (Bayou Devils MC #6)Never Let Me Go by A.M. Myers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I can’t even imagine what this poor girl is going through. I understand her wanting to go back to Baton Rouge. It’s familiar and comfortable. Luckily she hitched a ride with a gorgeous hunk of a guy. Sawyer is in the right place at the right time. To give a ride to the most gorgeous woman he has ever seen. Too bad he has sworn off relationship.

I loved the insta-attraction between these two. It’s like a lightning bolt between them. I can feel it coming off the pages! They are the cutest couple ever! Sure they both have some problems but together? They shine!

I have a issue with Juliette that is hard to let go of. Sometimes this alter ego seems to come out of Juliette. She is strong, brash and takes no crap. Then most of the other times she is sweet, trusting and just an all around nice girl. I thought it was her memories coming back that made her this way but it wasn’t. It was like a light switch turning on and off as needed. Maybe that should have been her dormant personality coming back along with the memories. Or maybe it was and I missed it.

The secondary characters are some we have seen before in past Bayou Devils MC books. Mercedes is a wonderful best friend. When Juliette calls all stressed and such. She doesn’t hesitate to figure out a way to bring her home. A bestie in the best terms.

This isn’t my first book by this author and it won’t be the last. I like how she draws me in and keeps me wondering what/who/ and how the finale will happen. Another Devil has fallen…I wonder who will be next?

This is another amazing story to add to the series! I can’t believe what happened in here. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. This character breaks my heart…just as much as in Rocks story a few books ago. These men are so tied to the club…they are their family. When he is ripping off his patch and replacing it with Nomad. I could really *feel* for him. I almost had tears as well. It’s so “raw” being inside his head and listening to his thoughts while this is happening. I really feel bad for the character. He tries and tries so hard but nothing seems to come up aces for him. The female was a surprise! After learning about her life I can understand why she is so spunky and determined.

I did love hanging out in Pueblo again with this crew. It’s nice to see them and watch everyone try to figure out their place in the MC. Especially the guys just patched in. But I am not discounting Demon in this scenario either. His need to find his footing as the Prez. We did get to spend some time with the old ladies as well as see bets placed on their club cat! Ha ha those guys! They bet on anything!

Those last two lines in the Epilogue…are the perfect way to end this book! I absolutely loved reading them!

I don’t know how this author does it time after time but I commend her for each of these books. I enjoy reading about this lifestyle and she makes me care about these characters. All of these book can be read as a stand alone but I promise you will get much more enjoyment learning the brotherhood of these guys if you start at the beginning.

REWIND by Rowan Shaw – Review by Lisa Helmick

Rewind (Rewind #1)Rewind by Rowan Shaw
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this….absolutely loved it. I don’t read M/M romances too often but this one intrigued me so I gave it a go. This is so much more than a romance between two people. It actually made me *feel* what it was like to be them….against every prejudice you can Imagine. From outting themselves and just showing affection in public to rejection from family and friends to public ridicule. They had a long road to journey down to get to their happy ending.

Enzo is amazing! So strong and smart! I loved everything about him. He has a heart of gold! His struggle to overcome made him who he became to be. Florian is a different sort of strong. What he had to overcome is not the same as Enzo but caused by the same “accident”. I almost feel he got the worst end of the deal. When they are together it’s easy to see how happy they both become by their smiles and gestures.

This is my first book by this author. I loved the writing..it is so easy to read and I finished this In one day. I couldn’t put it down. It is filled with suspense, charm and many lovely moments. My only complaint would be Enzos family. I felt that was left open ended. But really it’s a small issue in the grand scheme of things. The characters were great! I think I would love a Patrick in my life. He seemed a “no holds barred” kind of guy. I see the next book is out so I will be diving into that next.

A Protector’s Touch by Parker Sinclair – Review by Lisa Helmick

A Protector's TouchA Protector’s Touch by Parker Sinclair
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a tough but good book. It deals with a abusive topic. I’m sure there is an element of truth to this story. I can’t imagine what these women go through not counting their loved ones. This shows a side that deals with the event through to the legal ending. I thought the characters were very likable and true to form. Shan was a delight to read. He inspires hope that there are good guys out there. I was leery a couple times but he is a true knight. April thinks she is weak but this event actually made her stronger. I liked how pro active she was for herself. She is a star among the sky as she can inspire many girls.

It was interesting to me how the words the EX spouts at the beginning of a relationship actually mean something else by the end of a abusive relationship.

“Look at all the things I can buy you, take you to, provide for you, all in ways no one has done before”
Possible translation:
“We will always be together, even if you want to escape”

I shouldn’t say I love it but how ironic.

This was a good eye opening read. I would recommend to all women and even men. It has a nice romantic side but it is also full of suspense.

Cult (Feisty Lawyers Book 3) by Seelie Kay – Review By Lisa Helmick

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is ACTION packed! I really loved this story! I think it’s my favorite out of the series so far. I love that the story moves forward continually. It is a constant flow from one stop to the next. No time to get bored! I loved seeing all these characters again. They are moving forward with their lives and it’s nice to see where they are at now. Cade, Janet, Anders and Dianne all have that danger element not to mention their friendship and love for each other. I want to mention I LOVED Hopes bodyguard. His name and his sense of humor. I look forward to seeing more of him. In the future.

This can easily be read as a stand alone. Reading the others in the series will enhance your enjoyment of this one but it won’t deter from it.

Murder Creek by Jane Suen – Review By Lisa Helmick

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a short mystery that kept my interest from the beginning. There is a large cast of characters that come into play as Eve sorts through the evidence for a missing girl. I didn’t see the ending which is a plus. I love not being able to figure out the “who-dunnit”.

This is not a first time author for me. The story moves along at a quick pace. It has lovely short chapters which helps move things along for some reason. The characters are interesting and i was suspicious of them all! For a quick mystery…pickup this up.

Saint Code: Lost: Book Four of the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie – Review By Lisa Helmick

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a book that can be read as a stand alone although it compliments the other books in the series. I enjoyed getting to know more about the Saints. We come across them in the other books in the series. They have always been sort of an enigma. Here we learn a bit but it’s not everything I thought it would be. I almost feel sorry for one of the Saints. They story is fast moving and interesting. Reading about this futuristic world and magic.
