The story Guilty Pleasures Volume 2: Guilty Pleasures by Joyce McCarthy is a book that has some short erotic stories that are written to make the temperature in the room rise. They center around the characters and the steamy encounters that they have. There is lust, dirty talking, teasing, and red-hot scenes. While the stories are short and quick they don’t lack in the details of what these characters are there for. This is an author who knows how to write scenes that will have you reaching for a glass of cold water. I found myself intrigued by the characters and wanted to know more about them. There is attraction and lust included in these stories. The book is well-written and makes me want to read more by the author. Recommended reading.
The Killmores by Martha Sweeney. This is the second installment into the Killmore series. It picks up where book 2 left off and you really need to read them in order. Its the continuing story of Laurie and Aiden. They have decided to be a couple but Laurie feels like she can’t outrun her past. She has lost everyone she ever cared about until she met Aiden. She doesn’t want to lose him to. Aiden is the first guy to tell Laurie he loves her and mean it. She is overwhelmed. Laurie is a strong, bull headed woman and Aiden will fight with whatever it takes to save her. Laurie knows someone is after her again and sure enough they are. Will Laurie be able to fight off this devil or will she lose everything. Will Laurie ever get her happily ever after. This is such a fast paced read you get caught up and lose all track of time! Its a great series!
My Free Life: Prequel to the Brothers Camelot (My Life Series Book 3) by Necie Navone. I love this series. I have so enjoyed each book and I feel like I could call up the characters! This is the final installment in the My Life series and we’ve watched Aless grow up. She is now 20 and the Capo Donna of a Major Crime Family in Italy. She is watching all of her friends and family find love and happiness and she doesn’t have the choice to do that on her own. She made a dying promise to her mother that she would escape this crazy life and find true love and happiness. Will she be able to keep that promise? Aless has grown into a strong, beautiful, capable woman and most of her men want her either to be their wife or at least in their bed. Aless is attached to a few of the men who protect her but her heart is set on finding true love. After living with an abusive father for 20 years Aless is about ready to make her Mom’s wish come true. Will she succeed? These book are amazing and Necie Navone has become a new favorite author!

Degrees of Control is the third book in Via Mari’s Prestian series. Do not start with this book, you need to read the books in the order as then you really get the story, the journey … I truly think that the series gets better and better with each book … the writer’s attention to detail becomes clearer and clearer and you feel as if you are co-existing with Kate and Chase, right there … next to them! There are so many twists and turns … one moment you are slowly floating along, enjoying the ride and then suddenly you are at the edge of your seat, almost falling off! Degrees of Control picks up after Kate has rejected Chase’s proposal for marriage. She struggles with trust and at times with what is right and what is wrong and she is so strong and at times I wish that we could also see another side of hers … on the other hand, I can so totally relate to it as when we are in control then at the end of the day there is no one else we can blame … There are some twists here that you do not see coming so it is really good that there is at least one more book for us to enjoy the journey and I am wondering, what lesson does Kate have left to learn …

An Agreement by Lindsay Marie Miller this is the third book in this great series, this book offers the romance that we have come to love from Lindsay Marie Miller. The characters have such chemistry and the flow of the story was just great.
Bailey is a old romantic at heart and is looking for the right man to come along and sweep her off her feet, but she has been working hard to get her fashion boutique up and running so she has little romance in her life especially meeting eligible suitors. So as she is with her brother he convinces her the best way she will meet someone is to go online.
So as she goes on the first date it ends up with her having a misunderstanding and turning into a interesting date in the end. Carter is not looking for love but when he has a interaction with Bailey he can’t get her out of his head. So as the story goes you get to see the romance blossom between these two great characters.
Although this book can be read as a stand alone there is some cross over with the other two books in this great series but hey they are brilliant so I recommend you read them anyway. The book is fast paced and is well written and is a great third instalment in this series.

Burning Night: where the ashes of the past awaken the future by Nikki Broadwell. This is a contemporary romance with a little mystical powers thrown in. Its the story of Columbine ( Collie) who flees her abusive husband after years of unhappiness and abuse. Never able to have children she flees her very unhappy life. Her best friend Mary helps her leave by giving her a trailer and truck so she sets off landing in a small town on the way to Alaska. When her money is stolen she is forced to work in the only way she knows how, exotic dancing. She does quite well being 40 and makes all of her money back in a short time. She also meets a good looking, hunk of a man named Tim who she finally opens up to. During this time she has memories resurface that she never knew and she doesn’t know how to deal with them. Trying to make it to Alaska for the “Burning Night” celebration she has to decide if she can trust Tim and if she can settle down. Collie has to decide if her dreams are worth losing everything for or if she can actually find other dreams. This is a great book, quick read with lots of romance and a little mystery.

Felicity Found by Lara Ward Cosio is the sixth installment in her Rogue Series, which is one of the best rock star romance series that I have read in quite a while. Continuing the story of Conor and Felicity, who we first meet in book 2 – Playing at Love – this book really gets allot deeper and grittier than I would have ever imagined. These stories are not for the faint of heart, but for those who can look at the dark sides of relationships and still fall in love with the broken characters for who they truly are. I highly recommend reading the Rogue series in order, not only for the back story and getting to see each couple come together in their own unique voices but because the fullness of the story is that much better to read. I can’t wait to see what Cosio brings to her readers next, but I will definitely be first in line for whatever she does.

Getting the Goods by Elizabeth Perry is a quirky and satisfying tale that was shamelessly brilliant. It has so much on offer. Hilarity? Check. Elegant disorganisation? Check. Heart rate elevating passion? Check. Spine tingling, toe curling sesuality? Check. Battles? Check. Making up? Check. Perfection? Check, check and check!!! I loved these characters, adored how the story presented, loved the tenacious spirit of the leading lady, and swooned every time the leading man was mentioned.
I cannot remember the last time i was that invested in a romantic comedy. I didn’t know what was going on around me. I was totally under the spell of this wonderfully entertaining cast. Elizabeth Perry is an author I will be getting to know better as soon as I can. It was a hoot being able to rendezvous with this colourful collection of personalities. 5 stars.

Truly Unfortunate is a quick read for a novel, a tale about the weird and unusual in one small town following Truly, a girl who works three jobs and still is unable to make ends meet with a landlord who harasses her at any given moment. It is a relatable read, following Truly on her day to day excursions as she goes from job one to the next as she struggles to make ends meet, suffering the injustices that surround her. However, the kicker in all this, what makes this story, so riveting is the fact that it goes back in time, flashing back to the memories Truly had forgotten, memories of abuse and bullying. That is the power of the novel that injustices happen, that bad people are going to do bad things but that there is some karmic justice in the world to make everything right.
Once again, it is a short read at just under 200 pages, making it a quick one, but that is not all that makes it a quick read. The fact that the novel moves so effortlessly to build the tension and the intrigue keeps the reader on their toes. Other than that, Truly is a pretty forgettable character, her history and origins are what make her stand out, but her personality, nothing about it stands out. Jeff, on the other hand, his obsession with the weird and the connections he makes to fortune telling, now his actions and reactions, that is what makes him appealing to read. His motives and the way his arc in the narrative moves and intertwines with Truly’s from the past to the present, that makes him interesting.
Overall, it is a good read, and as a starter to something bigger, it works.

Getting the Goods by Elizabeth Perry is a flawed romantic comedy that will have you swooning and laughing throughout the fables of her main characters. Following the story of Gabriella Martin, who while she is still a young’un at just 29 years old, she is convinced that if she isn’t a mother soon, she never will be. Coming up with a scheme to get knocked up, leads her on a hilarious ride and strangers who will way lay her best laid plans. Meeting the perfect stranger, tall dark and handsome, and the night is full of steamy oohs and ahhs, until the next morning when Gabie splits and doesn’t expect to see this man again having gotten everything she needed from him. But he isn’t too far behind her, because he happens to be her new boss. The ensuing story is full of awkward morning afters, steamy hook ups, and feelings that neither of them were ready for. Will these two be able to make a multiple night stand work for the long haul when a bundle of joy comes along. Perry is a new to me author, but I am so happy that I picked this one up. If you are looking for a great book that will make you laugh, cry and fall in love with each page. I can’t wait to see what else Perry brings to her readers next.

An Agreement by Lindsay Marie Miller is the third book in her Summers in New York series, and it just keeps getting better and better. Following the story of Bailey Lewis, who is Benjamin and Clarie’s daughter who you get to meet in book one. A romantic at heart, Bailey dreams of being swept off her feet by her prince charming, but her problem comes from meeting the right man. Add to that, Bailey has been spending all of her time building up her brand and proving herself in the fashion industry, but now she wants more. When her brothers talk her into online dating she goes reluctantly, and then ends up at the wrong table with a guy that is the best kind of wrong. When things start to heat up between Bailey and Carter, she has to wonder if fate had a hand to play in her getting the wrong guy at the right time? Miller is an old favorite of mine, having read several of her books in the past, as well as the first two books in this series, I couldn’t wait to read this one. I highly recommend this book to be read after books one and two, just to get the full effect of the series. This book was just great to read, and I couldn’t get into it fast enough. If you are looking for a great author Miller is one that you need to add to your collection and get this series pronto!

I have no idea how I didn’t know of Martha Sweeney’s writing prior to stumbling across Killmore. This is my first novel I’ve read by Martha Sweeney and it most certainly will not be my last (and not just because I’m dying to read the follow up book!) The very first page starts off with a bang and there are enough edge of your seat twists and turns to keep the pages turner until the very end. When I tell you this book has everything I could ask for in a great romantic thriller, I mean it. Heart pounding suspense, danger, romance, the list goes on. The storyline flowed very well and kept the fast pace throughout. I don’t want to spoil the story anyway but I recommend you read Killmore and see for yourself why this 5 star read made me anxious to read more of Martha Sweeney.
I was completely enthralled and blown away by this book! Player is Book 1 in this series, which is written by Pamela DuMond. There were so many highs and lows and emotional turns that it was definitely a page turner! Evelyn or Evie is empathic. She is very in tuned with others feelings. From the time that she was little she has had to learn to control her empathic surges. Not only that but she has had to deal with a bi-polar mother. Especially when her mother had caused tragedy to others that has followed Evie into adulthood. However, with having to take care of her mother and sister along with student loans, Evie needed to find a way to make more money. Her friend told her of this escort service. Evie decided to try it out and along with that comes the possibility of love and fear. Fear from potential stalkers comes into play because of this job. The potentiality of love also is a factor, which comes to into play with one of her clients. However, her empathic abilities has helped her become one of the most sought after escorts in Chicago. I absolutely loved this book! I really cannot wait for the next book because I need to find out what happens! The characters are amazing and really play well in the storyline. I loved the authors writing style. She really makes you a part of the story. The sexy scenes are severely hot and give just enough for the meat of the story. I was truly impressed with this book and this is a book I would definitely recommend!

OH MYLANTA! This book really hit me in all the feels! I have loved the Darling Cove Novels from Deborah Garland for awhile now and was so stinking excite to read the Christmas novella this holiday season. This was on the top of the list for my reads this season. I will say right now, I would not recommend that you read this novella if you haven’t read the other books in the series and read them in order.
This one gives us a peek into the lives of Faith and Greg Mallory as they are about to change drastically. See they are about to become parents. It’s a special time for them,and a special time of year, Christmastime. The faith they have that everything will work out for the positive is about to be put to the test in ways they never imagined they would have to face. The emotions you feel while reading their journey through this novella are raw to say the least. I found tears rolling down my face several times, and by the end of the book I was believing in Christmas miracles all over again. I will for sure be curled up next to the tree once again rereading this beautiful holiday tale before the holiday season is over again this year, and many years to come. Thank you Ms. Garland for the wonderful story!

The author continues to weave an amazing tale throughout this series. For the best appreciation, this should be read in series order. Each book lends itself one to the other with character development and plot points. This one definitely follows its predecessors with its engaging characters and fast moving plot. This one has it all – romance, mystery, suspense. It can definitely be enjoyed as a stand-alone. However I believe greatest enjoyment would come from reading this series in order. All in all, a fantastic book and one I look forward to reading again to catch any details I missed the first time.

Rhapsody and Rebellion: Once Upon a Window is the seventh book in the Enduring Legacy Series by Aubrey Wynne. This was an intriguing historical romance with drama, action, humour, suspense, second chances- and where love truly does conquer all. Gideon is the Earl of Stanfeld- he is proper, pragmatic, and controlled. But his predictable world will be turned upside down when his mother has some unsettling dreams and he agrees to take her back to her highland roots. Alisabeth had her destiny laid out for her from birth when she was betrothed to Ian, who then became her best friend. But unfortunately, Ian was taken from her after only a year of marriage. So, what happens when an English Lord steps into her world? You really should read the book and discover all the clever details for yourself. This story showcases Ms. Wynne’s creative storytelling talents and gives the reader a very immersive experience. There was so much happening in this book- but it was all wonderfully choreographed into a smooth and entertaining read. The way Ms. Wynne wove her story around actual historical events- then sprinkled in some folklore and legend amongst the political and social unrest, really made this book quite an interesting read. This may be my first read from Ms. Wynne, but it undoubtedly won’t be my last. So, if you like a great regency/historical romance, with wonderful characters, and an story that will pull you in and engage you from beginning to end- then this is definitely the book for you!

C.A. King is a magical storyteller. I just can’t get enough of her stories and every time that I see a new release of hers on my feed or a coming soon it is an auto-buy. No questions asked, no need to read what it is even about. Truly Unfortunate is no exception to the rule. I was blown away when I got a peek at this cover for the first time. I knew the world that King was going to take me to was going to be one that I wouldn’t want to leave.
The story behind that gorgeous eye-catching cover is quite possibly one of my favorite novels that I have read by King. This is one twist psychological thriller. I know for sure that I didn’t want to put it down, and I was thrilled to learn that there will be more to come in this series. When King builds a world for the reader, it is from the ground up and down to the very way that you would think the atmosphere feels and smells. I love how I feel transformed into the place the character is is when I am reading and in Truly Unfortunate, this was once again the case.
I am struggling with how to share things about the plot of this book and not spoil it too much for the reader. There is a few things though, expect the unexpected. Go into this novel with an open mind and be ready to learn a few things, perhaps about yourself.
Truly has no memories of her youth, her formative years. There is something missing and it has to be for a good reason is all the doctors can think. All of a sudden there are a bunch of unexplained deaths occurring around her, and its people that she knows!
A local cop on the case,Jeff, is convinced that there is more to the story than meets the eye. He is determined to get to the bottom of it and make the case just like he has always dreamed of doing. But is this all in his imagination?
Just when you think you know what is going on there is a few twist that you do not see coming, ones that will make you read this well past your bedtime! I know I did, and I still am left hanging wondering so many questions. I can’t hardly wait for book two! Thank you so much for the great read CA King!

Man this book was perfect. Frank was a typical guy to me with a very nonchalant personality. But inside he was a big softie. I really enjoyed the authors sense of humor. Mikey and Frank were so perfect for each other. They have what I use to have with my ex. Their relationship was fun and easy. Don’t get me wrong there were moments that it was rocky. But they made it work and that is all that matters. Mikey had a unique personality. Most women are not so blunt and open as she is. She was so comfortable and confident with who she is that she wasn’t too afraid to let Frank in. Frank on the other hand was level 10 clingy which surprised me because it didn’t fit his personality that he portrayed. Overall I couldn’t get enough of this couple. They were funny and loving but they also learned and grew with each other. I will definitely be reading more from this author if she infuses the same lightness and joy in all her books. Holy Moly!! I LOVED this book! This is the first book in the Killmore series and I cannot wait to read the next one. My heart was racing while I was at the edge of my seat waiting to turn the next page and see what would happen next. It was action packed and suspenseful and I couldn’t get enough of it. I loved Laurie. She was an awesome FMC. I liked Aiden too but I never was sure if he could be trusted. There is just so many good things to rave about with Once Upon a Romance from Alex Bailey! I must first start with that gorgeous cover! It screamed pick me up, you will find a swoony prince and a hapless princess who doesn’t know her worth somewhere amongst the storyline, much like one of my favorite tales of all time, Cinderella, or better yet a Disney love story in general is a theme that is ever present throughout Once Upon a Romance. I adored that theme and this was also collectively portrayed in the cover.
The Disney theme is strong in other ways throughout the book, even in the character names. I really loved how this author was able to bring to life the characters that I so loved and my kiddo loved, but in a new and older, reimagined and modern way. This isn’t your classic fairytale, but rather with a twist that will keep you swooning and on your toes from the very first page till the end. I was so excited to learn that this novel is book one of a series so there will be more to come as well!

The Changeup, by Mary Billiter, is a romantic suspense. This sixth novel fit perfectly within the A Resort Romance series. I adored the character names, they were fun to add in with the hilarious, suspenseful, intriguing and drama filled moments of the story. Rebel’s character was, by far, the best in this novel – something about her character shined thoroughly through. It could have been her witty nature or her personal set of morals/ethics, but it was unique. Then Ryan! Oh my goodness, the nickname he is graced with, its fabulous nickname! There are memorable characters in this book that just make it so good, entertaining and a must read! Not only do you get suspense within this story, the author gives you a bit more and delivers.

Deborah Garland’s Must Be Crazy is the third installment in the Darling Cove series. This contemporary romance features Skye Mallory, her quirks, faults and possibly a happily ever after? I fell in love with this series with the first book, Must Love Fashion. Each book has featured a separate couple, but they each overflow to some extent to the subsequent stories. Must Be Crazy is my favorite from the series so far. Skye is a strong character, but inside, she’s fractured and trying to hold herself together. The ultimate question, is how long that will last and what will happen when that final seal breaks? Add in a seriously charming male, the possibilities are endless. The back history that is shared with the present tense of the story was well played, not pushing the story into the far left field. There were definitely some character(s) I enjoyed not liking, but they gave the story that additional mix to create a well rounded tale.

An Agreement, by Lindsay Marie Miller, is the third book in the Summer in New York series. This contemporary romance story was a reading pleasure. I easily feel into the story within the first chapter. Something about Bailey just immediately drew me in. The opening scenes were fun, entertaining and just what you expect from a talented author. I really liked how the author played with the friendly banter, attraction, emotional hills/valleys that you would encounter with a friends/lovers theme. Both Bailey and Carter have insecurities within their lives that deter them from certain choices; the author handled these within the story with style allowing it to flow seamlessly within the story rather than feeling misplaced.

Born to Fight (Can’t Resist You, #1) by Brittany Anne was a raw, too real, feels gripping, post-apocalyptic read, that had me hooked from start to finish.
Wow what a read! My first read by this author and I am impressed, more than impressed I just found a treasure and I need more. This sci-fi dystopian read is unique, original and it is hooking. The tone, and writing rhythm has a oomph that instantly pulls you into the story. It’s been awhile since a dystopian has hooked me like this, and it has rekindled a lost love that I didn’t know was gone.
Told in multi POV we get this tale from both our MC’s, and seeing it that way, especially this type of romance, really adds na extra layer of realism, and gets you more connected to this characters. There is a weird magic about it, and frankly I believe that all romance no matter what genre should be told in dual POV. It’s proven in the way this story was executed.
Now outside of the love plot the world building was pretty freaking cool. It paints a devastating picture of what could happen if we lose our insta world connecting, electricity and satellites. It makes you feel the dread, and adds a very dark and gritty element, making the love plot that much more raw and compelling.
Overall this book is a must read, it has everything you’ve been wanting in a, or better yet it has everything you didn’t know you wanted in a post-apocalyptic romance, that may be doomed before it even starts. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval that you will not be able to put this book down once you start.

Burning Night: Where the Ashes of the Past Awaken the Future by Nikki Broadwell 4 out of 5 stars
First, What a beautiful cover! This contemporary novel was both profound and heart breaking. Collie is running from an abusive relationship. It was interesting watching her grow into her power and into her womanhood throughout this book. I loved the development that this book brought to her character. She is a very complex character, yet at her core, she is simple, heartfelt and passionate. Collie is making her way to a festival called Burning Night, which she believes is an answer to all of her prayers.
This book is emotionally charged. I had, at times, a very difficult time getting through portions of the book without wanting to break down and cry. Collie is strong. So very, very strong. Ms Broadwell has written an amazing character with vivid details. I HIGHLY recommend this book, but want to let you know that this will seriously pull at your heart strings.

Killmore (Killmore #1) by Martha Sweeney was a intense, gripping read that pulls you in.
My first read by this author and for this series. I know right, I’m starting at the first book, go me. If you follow my reviews you know I tend to not, start at the first book. It’s a strange weird habit that I’m trying to kick. But enough about that, let’s get into why you’re here. This book, and my thoughts.
A rather different read for me, though I do love action, I’ve never really dove too much into that actual book genera. So saying that this was a bit out of my comfort zone isn’t a stretch. I’m a bit mixed on this book. Pacing was a issue for me. I like my action thrillers fast, urgent and dangerous. This book was lacking the first two. It starts out with that dangerous urgency, but it tapers off and it falls into a lull, before it picks up, then lulls again. I don’t know if it was done to up the page count, but parts of this book could be chopped down to make a more cohesive read. There are some structural issues as well, choppy or confusing dialogue and, sometimes I wasn’t sure what the characters were feeling while talking, they were simply talking.
Other then that, the actual plot and MC were great. I very much like our MC, she was strong, fierce and a tad bit nuts. She was a no BS type person and I liked her style. The plot, was complex, twisty and dangerous. It had a nice darkness to it that kept the story edgy and gritty. Plus there is some hot, fan worthy, sexual tension that adds that something extra, to round out the story. And the ending.. cliffy. Why you got to do that? The next book is a must read, cause I need to know what happens!
Overall, though I’m a little mixed I do highly recommend you give this book a chance. A vastly original and unique read, it’s a little bit of a hidden gem, you just got to brush off the filler to see the excellent story hidden within.
My Free Life is the last book in the My Life Series by Necie Navone. It continues telling the story of Alessandra, in her path to freedom. It must be read following My Hidden Life and My Tragic Life, in order to get the full story. This book, like the previous 2, was amazing and full of twists and turns keeping me hooked from start to finish. However, I was left hanging, and now need to move onto the Brother of Camelot series, so I can know if Aless gets her happily ever after. While this book is listed as part of a prequel, I believe it’s strong enough to be a series of its own. The characters are written so well, with emotions and relationships you can feel. I developed feelings for the characters and felt anger, love, loss, fear right along with them. The story and background are solid and realistic. I honestly enjoyed this series so much, and would love to see it turn into a movie! So highly recommend to everyone.

F*cking Frank was a great 5 star read and book one in the Smirk Series.
I was pulled in right away and was LOL so many times. I absolutely love Frank and his (no pun intended) frankness. He tells it like it is and has no filters.
People suck, or most people do. But the most important lesson was to choose your friends carefully and do not trust easily. – Frank
When Frank and the band go to the winery for their summer gig, they meet Mikey. And oh my gosh if she isn’t made for Frank no one is, these two were like twins on everything. Mikey is like a female Frank to a tee and when she sees something she wants she’s not shy about it. These two are sassy, strong, straight forward and so much more. I loved them.
Can they keep things professional or will they give into their attraction? Has Frank finally found THE ONE?
There is so much more to this great read. All of the secondary characters were great, I look forward to reading more from this series. This read was so refreshing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have a friend very similar to Frank so it felt like I was reading his story. Jen has once again given me another great story to read, I’m excited to read the rest of the series.
