Fiddle and Fire has such a slow start for me. I did trek on and did begin to get into it. This was my first mmf based in a certain time period like this one is. I do like that it was a stand-alone but part of a series. The masculinity is so strong and never once do you question it. A nice read for those who love time period pieces and a bit of wild spice mmf.

A story for the ages that leaves you wanting more, (total cliffhanger). The main characters Lyle and Kyle struggle with grasping the hurt they have both endured. Lyle’s past keeps him from giving 100% of himself to Kyle, he’s broken and it tears at your heartstrings. The constant back and forth of these two character’s gets to your soul. In a fictional MM romance, these characters struggle to come to terms with who they are. Lyle refuses to give into his true feelings and begins to destroy Kyle in the process. A can’t put down book which keeps you wanting to know if Lyle will finally give into his true feelings. It’s emotionally draining reading about these characters yet at the same time I couldn’t stop reading about them.

Cecily in the City is the third book in the Cecily Taylor series by Krysten Lindsay Hager. This story follows Cecily as she continues to try and pursue her career as an actress and navigate her relationship with her famous boyfriend however this time, after a series of unexpected events, she finds herself navigating the complexity of show biz life in New York City. I really enjoyed this book however there were times when it made me so frustrated, I really wanted to knock the characters heads together, however this is a sign of good writing as it made me so emotional. Cecily is a lovable character however I am so pleased to see her growing as an adult. I found that I really wanted to know more when I got to the end of this book, especially the comeuppance of a certain character. I would recommend this to readers who are looking for a sweet young adult story with likable main characters and wonderful supporting ones. Looking forward to the next instalment.

Stars Like Gasoline had me riveted from the first few pages and it was impossible to put down. I love a good ghost story and this one had it all with haunted houses, paranormal happenings, ghosts, apparitions, mystery, suspense, drama, and danger. The storyline immediately intrigued me and captured my attention because it was full of ghostly apparitions and hauntings right at the start. Although the book immediately captured my attention because of the phantoms in the museum, that was not all there was to the story.
The story is centered around Celia, an art curator, and has an air of mystery and suspense when an art heist takes place. This book is superbly written with vivid scenes that pull you into the story alongside the characters. Each scene is described in so much detail that you are immersed in that time and place, seeing the same things as the MC, Celia. The apparitions appear before your very eyes. The artwork magically appears before you. It is all very surreal to experience and magical in its feel. You will surely feel the goosebumps start popping out on your arms and feel the tingling as the hairs on the back of your neck stand up when the ghostly apparitions come at you. The characters were well crafted, and the storyline was multi-faceted with interwoven elements of romance, poetic prose, family relationships, love, secrets, loss, and hidden agendas. I look forward to reading more from this new to me author.

As with all of this author’s books, you are immediately drawn into the story. Lorenzo hires a somewhat frustrating journalist to start to spin stories in their favor, but he definitely got more than he bargained for. While this is the third installment of the Sicilian Gods Series, you can read this as a standalone. Though you won’t want to. You’ll want to know each and every character’s story!

This was an interesting historical romance. I haven’t read a historical romance with a MMF relationship before so that was unique given the time. The author does a really good job with all 3 main characters. All the information and backstories really helped to bring the characters to life for me. The romance was between Issac, Walter and Suzette is very powerful as Suzette can’t choose between the friends and the whole idea of not having to choose came about. The added danger and Suspense of events when Suzette’s past catches up to her gives this story another level making it more than just a romance. I did enjoy this read, it was fast paced but at times I got confused when the pov narrative changed between the characters at random times of the book making it a little hard to recognise from who’s point of view I was reading from but overall it was enjoyable and a different take on a historical romance. I would be interested in reading more from this author as the ideas were new and unique to me.

This is the first time reading this author. I was glad it was a little longer read then im used to. I don’t really follow student teacher stories and really don’t get into circus stories at all. This story was a good read if you like dark romance that involves things like that. Cassandra & Chandler’s is easy to follow so this author wrote this story well. I would pick this book up and read it you won’t be disappointed.

Foxy Tails By: Natalina Reis Review By: Susan Ratchford 5 Stars
Foxy Tails by Natalina Reis is a beautifully created MM fantasy, with a world that is so unique. I absolutely loved it! The story reminded me of a powerful anime adventure. Intriguing and entertaining with just the right amount of romance. It was very enjoyable to discover Huli and Xiao’s relationship along with them. It felt natural and relatable. If this is what I have to look forward to, I will absolutely be looking for more works by Natalina Reis. This captivating tale is definitely worth your while and a must read for any magical fantasy adventurer. Thank you Natalina Reis for this wonderful story! Happy reading all!

This was the first MM fantasy romance I have read…but it won’t be the last. Fantasy is usually not by go-to genre, but the synopsis hooked me and I’m glad I took a chance on it.
Huli is a nine-tailed fox that is hunted for being considered a demon. One day, he crosses paths with Xiao Ying. Xiao Ying is determined to live a life of solitude while he hunts down those that murdered his entire family, As Huli, Xiao Ying, and Ling (Huli’s best friend) find themselves on their own adventure, feelings between Huli and Xiao Ying grow stronger. Be prepared, though, this book ends with quite a cliffhanger.
This is book of magical characters and a world unlike any other. For the time I was reading this book, I was transported to that world and it was quite an adventure. There were parts of the book that felt a little rushed…but overall, a very good story that I enjoyed reading!

I hadn’t read anything by Natalina Reis before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect going in. I’m happy to say that this will NOT be my last book from this author! I absolutely loved everything about Foxy Tails. I genuinely appreciated that they put a list of the characters in the beginning of the book so I could keep everyone sorted in my head. It does start out a little bit slow, but once I got in the rhythm of things I couldn’t pull myself away! The author does a marvelous job creating this magical MM adventure with the in-depth characters and intricate world-building. I am absolutely picking up other works by Natalina Reis because I need more. I highly recommend giving Foxy Tails a chance especially if you love MM fantasy romance!

What a whimsical and fun romantasy read. With some MM romance as the cherry on top! We have our leading nine tailed fox man named Huli. Who is just as mischievous as you think. And Xiăo Ying is introduced when Huli needs somewhere to be while on the run. They are both broken in their own ways and I love a good broken character. Overall a good fun read.

This story between Ava and Reaper was a tough one to read. Reaper meets Ava at one of his WC brother’s wedding, and he instantly feels a connection with her. To his dismay, he finds out that she’s married, but he thinks that something is very wrong, and he reluctantly lets her go. One year later Ava comes back into his life, and he has found out that Ava’s husband has been abusing her. He won’t have it. With his experience as being a special forces sniper, he uses it to make sure that she doesn’t have to go back him. Ava’s story is heartbreaking in the beginning but as the story progresses she gets stronger and more confident. I love the progression between the two and the entire time I was rooting for them and hoping that things would get better when things would seem dismal. I loved this book and I can’t wait to read the other stand-alone books in this series!

Huli is a nine-tailed fox, a species labeled as demons. To replenish his qi, he seduces men and steals their energy. Unfortunately, his latest victim was the Prince. Once the Prince was made aware of his race, he put a bounty on his head. Huli was on the run ever since. While fleeing magically enhanced hounds, Huli comes across what appears to be an abandoned cabin in the woods. He takes cover inside only to find out that it was not abandoned at all. The man inside, named Xiao Ying, covers for Huli with the hunters.
Later on in the near future, Huli’s qi is depleted so low that he can’t even get up and do something about it. His best friend goes to get a healer to help. The healer turns out to be Xiao Ying. Replenishing Huli, depletes him so he has no choice but to stay with Huli until he is fully recovered.
Instantly the men have sparks between them but Huli is too scared to act on his feelings. He has low self esteem from jilted past lovers who left him once they discovered what he is. He isn’t sure if the feelings are reciprocated or if it is his seduction powers making Xiao Ying appear interested.
As time goes on, the pair find out that their lives are connected in more ways than one and start bonding over the similarities their pasts hold. Xiao Ying is on a mission to find out what happened to his family and invites Huli to join him while training Huli to get stronger. Along the way they come across different enemies and obstacles to overcome. Will they find out what happened in the past or will it just lead to a dead end?
There is a strong will they/won’t they and I found myself hoping they would just embrace the inevitable and get together already! I really liked the way Huli was written. He has a strong character development. He starts off with little to no confidence and slowly realizes that he isn’t a demon just because he is a nine-tailed fox. I also really like the best friend, Ling Ling. She is sassy, strong, independent with a soft and caring side. I also enjoyed their banter. The author did an amazing job writing the beginnings of a relationship. You get to watch the feelings develop slowly making it that much more adorable.

I loved Afflicted Love, however it wasn’t an easy book to read. I don’t mean that in a written sence but an emotional one. The amount of turmoil the two main characters go through is heartbreaking. On top of ending on a cliffhanger, the way it did. I want the next book now. I need to know what happens. I need to know what decisions are made. And I don’t want to wait. Kyle and Lyle are both broken souls. They are also two halves to a whole. The only problem is Lyle is so broken he can’t accept that truth. He knows he can’t live without Kyle but he can’t give him 100% either. Which leaves the book at an impasse. It’s a constant back and forth, just destroying the emotions of the characters. Possibly the reader as well. This MM romance fictionalized some of the struggles men go through when coming to terms with who they are. Some embrace it, while others hide due to fear, judgment, and rejection of others. Only once one knows their true self can they truly embrace and not fear who they truly are. Which is exactly the path Lyle refuses to follow, not realizing he’s destroying Kyle mind, body, and soul in the process. Go into this book with an open mind, for that might be the only way you come out not feeling emotionally drained. It’s beautiful in its own way but draining. Me, well I’m going to sit back and wait for the next book to come out.
Setting the scene This is a paranormal MM romance adventure story with a quest and a diverse range of characters. Foxy Tails has humour, a bit of intrigue, very slow burn (almost clean)romance, and vengeance. It takes a bit for the storyline to really take off, but once it did it was so good. There’s still so much left to explore so I’m hoping for book 2.

This was a really good read. It is a MM Romance and there are some aspects of if that some people may find triggering, however the author deals with them in a way that is respectful but doesn’t shy away from how terrible things can be. This story is about 2 guys who started out as friends. Both if them had traumatic childhood and they found comfort in each other. As they get older the realise that their feelings towards one another is more than just friendship. However while Kyle is happy to embrace the person he is and the fact he is in love with Lyle, Lyle can’t come to terms with or admit the fact that he is in love with Kyle. What unfolds is a toxic relationship as Lyle struggles to come to terms with his feelings for Kyle. My heart hurt for them because everytime you think things are going to work out Lyle always gets scared and runs. Will he ever be able to embrace his true self and be with the man he loves? This book is left with a cliff hanger and I can’t wait to carry on reading Kyle and Lyles story.
Foxy Tails is a fantasy romance by Natalina Reis. The story follows nine-tail fox Huli as he makes his way through a world that hunts demons like him. He meets divine healer Xiao Ying. When they meet, Huli is dealing with the pain of moving through the world unloved and Xiao Ying’s whole family has been murdered. This story has a rich fantasy world filled with danger and adventure. The world-building is great and the characters are fun. Ling Ling and Ye Ying are fun and funny. The romance between Huli and Xiao Ying is sweet and takes its time. I really enjoyed this story. It would be great to get book 2 so that we can get more development of Huli and Xiao Ying.

Afflicted Love is Book One in the Rhythm and Heart series. It is a MM romance story full of raw emotion, passion, lust, and forbidden love. It tells the story of Kyle and Lyle who met when they were younger, after Kyle saved Lyle from being bullied. The two became friends, and Kyle vowed to always protect Lyle. Over the years they had to navigate the feelings that they were having as they eventually started feeling more for each other. Both boys have grown up with abuse and neglect in their lives so when they met, they vowed to be there for one another. When they become separated after an unfortunate incident neither expects to see the other again. Lyle has spent years denying how he feels about Kyle and has tried to put it behind him until a death in the family brings them together. Can they put aside the hurt, anger, and betrayal and move on together?
This was a beautiful story of forbidden love, overcoming inner demons, and family dynamics. Please be advised that it does have some dark material that may contain triggers for some. The characters of Lyle and Kyle were wonderfully written, and their story is compelling, tragic, and complex. The bond they have and how they feel for one another must be kept hidden because it is forbidden and not tolerated by those closest to them. Their love is considered wrong and forbidden. This book will have you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as you experience the pain, betrayal, anger, grief, love, lust, and despair that Lyle and Kyle navigate through. A fantastic read.

Wow what more can I say. This is the first book by this author I have read and man was I blown away. I like steamy romances and this really hit the spot. I found the author to have a very unique story line and really brought the characters to life. I also found that the author was able to use the character’s chemistry to enhance the book. By bringing historical romance added with the threesome really added to this. I was on the edge of my chair wanting to know how it all would end. There was enough drama added into the romance that it didn’t feel like it was too much. The characters really complimented one another as well as brought a depth to the book. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Húlí is a nine-tailed fox and since he was a small child, he has been insulted, feared, persecuted and hunted, this is the only life he knows and it has become a life full of hiding in plain sight and keeping his head on his shoulders all while doing what he needs to in order to survive, even though he knows it will lead him into trouble. Xiăo Ying is a man who descends from a family of powerful healers and he has continued that tradition and become one himself, however, when he was only a young one, his entire family was wiped out in one day and ever since, he has held himself away from the world and live the life of a hermit while trying to find out exactly what happened.
One day, Húlí made a mistake which has led to his latest escape from the demon hunting hounds, albeit this time, he was betrayed by one of the few people he allowed to get close to him and now he is again, running for his life, however, when he sees a cottage ahead which looks empty, he takes a chance and flings himself through the door, only to find that he is not alone. Xiăo Ying is having yet another quiet night home alone, that is until a young man comes crashing through his front door and into his life, demanding and then pleading for him to close the door, he has no idea who he is, or why he is there, but he decides to help him. It is at this moment that both their lives are changed and despite the untoward circumstances, neither can forget the other when they part ways, that is until their paths cross again as healer and patient.
As the reality hits of their situation, they begin to get the know the other, albeit under untoward circumstances again, this is where they decide to embark on a journey together with others who join them along the way, however, when neither can deny the feelings for the other, love blossoms and blooms as they tread a path of truth, lies, secrets and revelations, but will they find the answers they are so desperately seeking, or will this path lead to darkness, pain and further betrayal? This is a charming tale of a group of solitary individuals coming together to form strong bonds and stronger alliances in this story of fate, romance and a future where the past is illuminated and the future obscured until the end.

I love a well written romance. This one was just that kind of story. Ivy has set her mind on saving her grandfather’s ranch. While others doubt she can do it. There is one who knows she can. Ace, a wounded marine has many scars who he battles with daily. But the ones that are visible are the ones Ivy does not see. Throwing Ace into self doubt. Most look at him and stare or gasp. Not Ivy, she loves him, shhhh don’t tell anybody. While Ace helps Ivy out running the ranch, he learns people don’t believe a single unwed woman can do men’s work. Therefore his plan is set in motion. But remember Ivy can do what she puts her mind to. This fake engagement has opened many doors for both Ivy and Ace. To see where this story goes, read the book. What a page turner this story was. I could not put it down. The characters make the story, but the author put it to paper. I look forward to reading more from this author. As well as seeing where this author takes this series.

Foxy Tails by Natalina Reis. This is not my favorite genre but I’m telling you as soon as I picked up this book I could not put it down. This is the story of Huli a 9 tailed fox who is running for his life because of his nine tails he is considered to be a demon. His best friend Ling, Ling who is his ride or die. She will defend Huli with everything she has. Huli is also saved by the “Healer” Xiao Ying and the more time they spend together the more love they have for one another. Xiao Ying is all alone in the world due to his whole family being murdered. His goal is find who did this and make them pay. Huli has feelings for Xiao Ying and he’s not shy about it, Xiao Ying feels the same. The story really takes off as Huli, Xiao Ying and Ling, Ling go on the adventure of their life. As Huli finds more members of his family that were saved he is so happy. This book is full of emotion, love, hatred, mystery, fantasy and friendship. Just be prepared to not put it down once you start. Its that good!

I enjoyed reading this second chance romance story. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. The author’s style along with their attention to details gave the story a realistic feel which made it easy to connect to the characters. A fast paced story where two wounded souls are in need of healing and some romance. What will fate have in store for these two? Can a fake relationship be just that or will fate step in and take it somewhere else? I really enjoyed watching the growth of these characters. What they added to the story made it that much more enjoyable to read. This is a hard to put down story that had me on an emotional roller coaster in parts. An easy romance story that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book.

This is a newer author for me which I enjoyed reading their romance story. I look forward to seeing what is next for them. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. This is a story where the past comes to the present and safety is put in question. There is a suspenseful aspect to this story as well as the steamy romance. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world. They are engaging, supportive characters that added so much to the story. They had me coming back for more as well as sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next. I enjoyed the growth of the characters as well as the plot throughout which made the story easy and entertaining to read. I really enjoyed this story and I highly recommend it

This book is so good!!! This is Book 1 of the War Brothers MC and I am already loving the characters and wanting more. This story of Ava and Reaper…..wow!!
Ava and Reaper meet by a chance encounter, at Ava’s sisters wedding. There was instant spark and you can sense it….but Ava was married to someone else. Reaper knows at that moment he wanted Ava but could not have her. A year later, Ava is broken and bruised…. her sister rescues her…and since that rescue, Ava and Reaper’s lives are entwined once again. Ava is scared that her husband will be coming for her at every turn, all Reaper wants to do is protect Ava at any cost…but will Reaper be there for Ava when she needs him the most?
Deceit, drama, anger, spark and sizzle….this story had it all. Please be warned on some triggers of abuse….but the author did a fantastic job being real but mindful..While I would love to shake Ava’s parents because they angered me so much……can I also say I loved Conan the dog!!! My heart!!! This story was fantastic and I cannot wait until I get more War Brothers MC and Bomber’s story!

So… this book was something else. Really a different book than I have read before! May be the circus theme or who knows really but wow! What a spicy and unexpected read with one heck of an ending. The first book in the Ties That Bind series and what a start we got. The dynamic between main characters was just off the charts wow. The story flowed with twists and turns and how not everything was as it seemed. Liza did an amazing job tying in an array of themes that you wouldn’t think would mesh but just worked so beautifully. Her words were magic that had me spiralling and ready to start book two.

What a spider web I got caught in. This book was incredible. A new author for me and boy did she leave her mark! What an intriguing and mysterious tale! Celia was fantastic, such a well thought out MC, and Adrian was such a complimentary character for her. The chemistry was there along with the mystery and page turning moments, and of course, the ghosts! I couldn’t get enough of this read and can’t recommend it enough! I wish this was a series because the trio was perfect!!!

I like period pieces, but at the same time I don’t. Being Fiddle and Fire was a period MMF romance, I figured I’d give it a chance. And you know what, I enjoyed it. I struggled at the beginning getting into it, but I pushed through and fell in love with these characters. This is the second book in the Hearts of Gold Series. A series where, yeah I would like to go back and read book 1, but I don’t have too. I, personally, enjoy reading series in order. However, when I come across a series where each book could very well be a standalone novel, I do start out of order, till I have a chance to go back to the beginning and I read the whole series start to finish. Suzette, Isaac, and Walter are 3 characters to love. Issac I loved from the get go. Walter seemed like a great friend. And Suzette to start wasn’t that pleasant. Each their own. Each brings a different personality to the table. Each personality compliments the other. They are perfect for each other. But how does one navigate this type of relationship? As Suzette finds out pretty easily despite some hesitancy. No book is complete without drama, and one will always say. Unresolved past could come back to haunt you. Unfortunately for Suzette that wasn’t entirely her fault. It’s how they navigate that challenge to get through.

The 3rd book in the series didn’t disappoint. First of all, this is a YA book. I have read the other books and I think it helps to have read them in order. The books are definitely written for a teen audience. They are sweet young romance stories full of misunderstandings, angst, hormones, worry, anxiety, and all those things young people go through. The author as usual did a fantastic job of world building and writing in such a way that makes young people interested in reading more. Cecily thinks she’s living the dream but soon finds out that the world of show business can be vicious and ruthless. I was happy to see Cecily grow in this book and start to really find her strength. She needs to be strong in a field that can be very dangerous. Looking forward to the next installment of the series.

This is the first book in the War Brothers MC and what a great start to this series. Reaper is the President of the club. Ava is running from an abusive husband. The attraction between these two is instant and strong. Can the MC protect her from the man who hurt her? I love the characters in this story. I am on the edge of my seat waiting to read more about all the members and their stories.
