Love Tools (Bluestone Series, #1)Love Tools by Isobel Reed
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Enjoyable contemporary romance between two people whom are trying to find their way….with some family past that continues to hurt.

Lily, down on her luck with a job and not going anywhere in life, decides to pick up and leave for a little hardware shop in Bluestone that her late estranged father left her. Lily wants to work hard to be successful and also put together pieces of a puzzle on why her father left. When Lily runs into Jake, a local cowboy with stunning looks..at first the banter of back and forth…Lily did not want any relationship let alone to get to know Jake. Lily has bad luck in romance, Jake never had a long term romance…but when they finally left down their guard….the chemistry and sparks ignite. All Jake needs to do is tell Lily how he feels and prove to her he is not just the same type of guy she is used to dating….but will Lily trust again in Jake?

This is definitely an emotional roller coaster of romance, heartbreak, family drama and sizzle all wrapped up in a small town romance. This story is very enjoyable and I really loved both Jake and Lily…as I was rooting for them for a HEA…I am already looking forward to book #2!

Taming Beckett (The Playmakers Series Hockey Romances Book 1) by G.K. Brady – Review by Allison Davis

Taming Beckett (The Playmakers, #1)Taming Beckett by G.K. Brady
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Gotta loves a HOT sports read!
Beckett is your hot shot bad boy. NHL star player, incredibly in shape, all around ladies man.
Paige is dealing with a cheating husband and a grueling divorce.
They needed each other in more ways than they realized, Paige needing the commission money from selling beckets house, or being each others listening ear. The chemistry is off the charts! They both learn to trust and realized what they need/want in life together in their own ways.
Great contemporary sports read.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Tallie’s story from page 1. Right away the story dives into explaining what events transpired in the previous book of the series, that then tie-in-to the continuation of her story. Tallie is in obvious turmoil in the beginning of the story after making her pivotal discovery from the previous book. There is this struggle for Tallie in the beginning, leading her to want to avoid these feelings and situation all together. Through out this story the reader gets to see how Tallie deals with these emotions, all the while trying to uncover where these missing people have gone. This is a suspenseful and well-paced story that I would recommend!

Love Tools (Bluestone Series, #1)Love Tools by Isobel Reed
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Love Tools is the first book in the Bluestone series by Isobel Reed. This is a lovely heart-warming romance that kind of makes you want to give up everything and go and live in a tiny town and open a shop! When Lily finds out that she has inherited her late father’s estate, that is exactly what she does. With nothing keeping her in London she takes over her father’s little hardware shop and tries to find out more about the man who abandoned her as a child. When Lily meets local rancher Jake, it is hardly love at first sight but when he sets his mind on things it is hard to put him off. This was a lovely romance, looking forward to book 2.

This was a great read. Even though this is the fifth book in this series you don’t have to have read the previous books to enjoy this one. I haven’t read the previous books in this series but after reading this book I am definitely going to. This story drew me in and kept me captivated throughout. It was so heartbreaking that so many people treated Adrik the way they did because of his looks. This book has danger, romance, suspense, mafia, and great characters. I won’t give anything away but I will say this is a must read. I highly recommend this book.

Defying Ella: A Close Proximity Rock Star Romance (True Platinum Series) by Morgana Bevan – Reviewed by Dr. Anya Schultz

Defying Ella (True Platinum #4)Defying Ella by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Who doesn’t love a good enemy to lovers romance? Ella is a free spirit who had a weeklong romance with Jared, a rock star. At the time Ella did not know who this man was, but after he left her with a semi-broken heart, he showed up at her sister’s apartment because, SURPRISE, he is a bandmate to her brother-in-law. This was not going to be a good time for Ella since she had already agreed to be her niece’s nanny while they were on tour. While on tour, Jared made life a living hell for Ella. She never understood why he was always so angry with her and trying to put her down. The tour was finally over and she and the girls were doing a two-week vacation in the Alps, in Italy. Ella went ahead of all the girls for some relaxation, especially from Jared, but guess who shows up? Now, these two enemies have to share a space together, and they are snowed in. Will they end up killing each other? Will they re-spark “unfinished” business? Will they each learn the truth behind what the past was all about?
I always enjoy a good enemy-to-lovers story. Ella was a firecracker character who is sweet, but a little lost. Jared is an overbearing drummer who doesn’t know when to take his head out of his ass. However, he becomes a character that you could start to love once he settles down and learns to communicate. He has a sweet side, and Ella constantly falls for it.

Love Tools (Bluestone Series Book 1) by Isobel Reed – Review by M Policicchio

Love Tools (Bluestone Series, #1)Love Tools by Isobel Reed
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A sweet romance with lots of feels. The author tries to take you on a voyage of self discovery while Lily also attempts to find out who her father was.

Lily inherited a hardware store from a father she didn’t know. Feeling stuck in her life in London, Lily takes off for rural Montana to see if she can make a go of it and maybe discover who her father was and why he left her. With enough bad break-ups behind her, Lily swears off men while her life is complicated enough with getting the hardware store up, running, and profitable.

Jake is looking for more. He has a heartbreaker reputation in town but that is not who he is. When this brash, golden haired beauty showed up in town, Jake knew that he had found the one. Now he just needed to convince her.

Darling story sprinkled with some great banter (wishing there was more British slang) and some decent laughs. You will get caught up in the characters and want to keep reading the series!

Chase and Katarina are interesting characters. After reading the synopsis of the book, and actually reading it, I feel like I’ll need to read the next book in the series to understand them both better. They both have so much backstory that will later be built on, and it leaves an element of mystery for the reader. The characters do an amazing job coping and handling everything thrown at them throughout the story. If you enjoy series that build on the previous books, this is definitely a story that I would recommend. If you don’t, I truly believe you’re missing out.. haha

This is the first in the series; and the first book I have read by this author. It was a little slow to start, but by mid book I was well and truly hooked. I felt that the author was a little uncomfortable writing the sex scenes, especially initially, but it did improve the further I got into the book. I felt that the language used in the sex scenes didn’t match the rest of the book – just my opinion though.

Overall, this was a good book and I will definitely read the next book.

The Daredevil (WaterFyre Rising, #2)The Daredevil by Nadia Han
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 2nd book in what has started a fantastic series and I really can’t wait for more of it. Until I read the first book in this series I had never heard of this author but I can surely say that I will definitely read more of their work and recommend them to others as this is a really great book that had me gripped and entertained from start to finish,
Royce Viktorsson and Michelle Yates had been friends for years as part of a group of friends that includes the main couple from the first book in the Waterfyre rising series. When Michelle has to travel to Iceland for work for the blog she writes her and Royce become closer.
This book definitely has the feel of a romantic suspense which is a genre that I adore. With Royce suffering many unfortunate mishaps at work and Michelle coming under attack the couple are forced together to fight the enemy.
I really enjoyed Royce and Michelle’s story. It is so much more than a contemporary romance. There is a great deal of drama, danger and intrigue that kept me totally gripped to the storyline and wanting to read more and more. The story flowed very well and the characters are so well written that you can really relate to them.
100% recommend.

So many good things to say about this book! From the very beginning of the book I could see myself in Lily, so many of the things she dealt with throughout her life are things that I have also dealt with. The moment she meets Jake I started rooting for them to work out and find their happily ever after, and wanting to know how their love story would end made me read this book super quick! One of my favorite things about the book is that it made me laugh so much, something that I love in a romance book! This author definitely left a great first impression on me, I can’t wait to read the other books in this series!

I loved this book! I thought this was a very original storyline and very well written. As far as the scenes went, more detail couldn’t have hurt but they were descriptive enough that you weren’t left in the dark. I really like that the main character was from a different country. It added an exotic element that I never would have thought of.

Well I have this say this is yet another hit by an author that is very much a family favourite in our household. Although this one probably wasn’t one of the biggest hits from the author I still found myself reading it multiple times over numerous days.
This was a fun and cute story and, as usual, the characters were just great to get to know. This author really does know how to engage her readers. Our whole family is already excited to get outer hands on the next book of hers.

I could not put this book down! This is a sequel so I recommend reading the first book before you pick this one up. It will help fill in some of the missing information. I absolutely love the way Laurie Lewis develops her characters and plot lines. I mean by the end of the book, I wasn’t sure who to trust! I really felt a connection with Tallie and the way Lewis writes her and her story just absolutely pulls at your heartstrings. This book is so fast-paced that I had a hard time putting it down because I just wanted to know what happened next! I love the independence Tallie has and her take-charge attitude. Again, this is a fantastic story…the plot is something that isn’t too far-fetched and the way Lewis writes it is just phenomenal.

This book is a beautiful book because it tugs at your emotional well-being while taking you on a ride with the characters you feel apart of. You’re torn between fighting how you feel (drawn from the characters and both their sides) or to wish and overcome all of it for a risk at love or more. But it’s not as easy as you’d think. This is only the beginning and I’m down to go down the rabbit hole to see where this leads.

Ok so I’m a huge sports romance fan but throw in a bad boy too and I’m grabbing that book barely even reading the synopsis which is exactly what happened with this book AND it did not disappoint! I was hooked from beginning to end. There was so much more to this book than a bad boy hockey player, I really feel like I went on a journey with the characters in this story. The growth that both Beckett and Paige go on is so emotional and the friendship and connection that they have with each other is so lovely. I pretty much fell for Beckett straightaway!
This truly is a wonderful story and so much more than I first anticipated it to be! Highly recommend 5 star read!

This was such a great read. What struck me most about this book was the uniqueness of the storyline. I really liked Lily, she was definitely a woman on a mission! She wasn’t afraid to get stuck in. I loved that there was both humour and emotion in the story and the emotion certainly poured off the pages at some points. The characters both primary and secondary were great and I loved the authors writing style, the story was really engaging and I loved every second of it.

This story had a good plot to it and I was pulled into the story from the start. The author did a good job with moving the book forward and developing the characters a bit. Katarina is on a business trip in Aruba gearing up for a week long meeting about the development of a new medical facility. Chase is a wealthy businessman that had contracted the company Katarina works to oversee said project. As I moved through the first few chapters and saw the interaction between these two it was evident there was a mutual attraction. It was hard to tell whether Chase knew that Katarina was working for him from the beginning or if he found out through the interaction in the emails. She though was surprised to find out whom she had been corresponding with when he showed up to do his part for the meeting. Will she be willing to move forward with their relationship after being lied to? Will there be a happily ever after?

This was my 2nd book in this series. Thief was the first book I read and this book was just as good. I love how the book was written and the first few chapters give some great insight on Adrik. The flashback portions weren’t distracting or misplaced and really help us learn why Adrik is the way he is. This series is so good and the books being able to be read as standalone books is refreshing.

Realizing the chemistry between them, Kate risks putting work aside and having a little fun, little does she know Chase is the man she will be working for. You will enjoy the read of a very shy independent woman falling for a man who is very overprotective and detail oriented. The author does a good job with the love line of the characters and even adds a little mystery and suspense and ends with a HEA.

Let me start this out by saying I’m not the hugest mafia/bratva fan but PHEW. This author got me changing my mind. I find something incredibly sexy about a scarred up MC- especially when they have more substance than their character revolving around their scars. The chemistry between Adrik and Annika was off the charts. Annika was beautiful and despite being a princess- she was relatable- who doesn’t feel like an outcast every once in awhile? I love the way their story unfolded and I can’t wait to read the rest in the series. I might just give this genre more of a chance! Check it out my friends- it’s definitely worth a read.

I absolutely love contemporary romance novels and I expect them to always be predictable. Wow. Was I wrong!!! The Daredevil by Nadia Han (WaterFyre series book 2) completely exceeded all my expectations and I am hooked! Truly action packed and immersive with suspense to spare! Her well written and extremely addicting plot and friends to lovers romance will have you up all night turning pages. Royce and Michelle were such interesting and enjoyable characters to get to know, and who doesn’t love a sexy nerd!!! Their jobs of being a travel blogger and Volcanologist were so cool.Their chemistry was truly believable and amazing. The way they help each other heal and face their past demons was very inspiring. I read this installment before reading book 1 The Mastermind and it definitely works as a stand alone novel but I cannot wait to go back and start The WaterFyre Series from the beginning, as I suggest you do, and be completely encapsulated by Nadia Hans’ world.

Degrees of Innocence: Dark Mafia Romance (Cruel Deceptions Book 1) By Via Mari – Review by Dr. Anya Schultz

Degrees of Innocence (Prestian Series, #1)Degrees of Innocence by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well, it is unlike a dark mafia romance that I have read in the past. This story is about a woman named Katrina who is in Aruba for a week-long “business meeting” she is running. She is helping a big wig corporation change the face of hospitals. Her story starts when she is physically saving the life of another customer staying in the hotel. A gentleman, Chase, comes to assist her; we later find out this man owns the hotel and is the enterprise in charge of Katrina’s project. These two have instant chemistry, but she is shocked to find out that he is her present boss. Because of past experiences, she is completely against this, but for some reason just cannot do without him. During her stay, she starts to spend a lot of physical time with Chase and the two produce a bond that neither has experienced before. This bond is strengthened when she is attacked, twice. Katrina learns quickly what it is like to be in a relationship with a wealthy, possessive man.
The story itself has many twists and turns. Many times you never see them coming. This is considered a mafia romance, but for much of the book, you would have no idea that that is the genre. The concept of Chase having ties to the underworld of society is not a storyline for much of the book. Do her past history, his secrets and over-possessiveness build a recipe for disaster? Even though there is a lot happening in the book, it was enjoyable. There is much spice, with a side of erotica. The characters are enjoyable to see grow together. Katrina is a woman figuring out what she sexually likes, while Chase is awakening her senses. The two have great flirtatious ways and playful banter. I am interested to find out what will occur in the rest of the series.
