Born to Fight is engaging, fast-paced, original, and captivating. While not new to dystopian novels, I enjoyed the unpredictability of the plot, the development of characters and the novel’s overall flow. The utilization of the flashback technique gives the reader a better understanding of how circumstances and experiences shaped both Rain and Hunter’s lives and how it affects the decisions made. The novel boasts an overzealous, cruel, and obsessive ruler- [side note: who we all love to hate] who eventually meets his demise at the hands of the hero and heroine. Overall, Born to Fight is an entertaining read.

So, this was a new author to me, and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this book. I wasn’t prepared to bawl my eyes out, but that is exactly what I did. In fact, I found that it was quite therapeutic in many ways. This wasn’t quite the romantic read I was expecting and but feel like it truly changed my view and perspective on these tearjerker books I tend to steer clear of. I am usually a fan of funny rom-coms but found this book to be endearing in so many ways. I was shocked to find out that this was the first book written by this author because she is such a wonderful writer. Her description was so realistic. As a family member that was watched her mother and father suffer with cancer, she was so accurate in telling this story. I think that’s what hit home the most for me. It was gut wrenching to relive it all over through someone else. But in many ways, this was like a cleansing for me and something that I needed. This book came to me at just the right time in my life. I look forward to reading other books from this author. I highly recommend you read and share this story.

This book was very intriguing. I could not stop reading it. What she endured she stopped being a victim and became a survivor. She finds true love. He also saves her and his unborn baby.

Wrong for Him (The Love Lottery Series Book 3) by Christi Barth
5 out of 5 Stars
This book is amazing!!! I was hooked from about page 3. I grew frustrated, just like Amelia, as she and Teague took forever to find their way to each. I almost threw my phone down in anger later. I continue to root for the Inn to be a success. I was so proud of Sydney taking control of the situation between Amelia and Alex. If you haven’t read the other books in this series (like myself), buy them now and plan for a long weekend of getting lost in the world of Chestertown.
Teague Sullivan has had two best friends for as long as he can remember, Alex and his little sister Amelia. Alex knows almost everything about him. Teague knew there were somethings that even his best friend didn’t need to or couldn’t know about his time in the Army. Amelia had been his friend, his lifeline, his anchor during his last deployments. Now he was starting to realize that there was much more to his feelings for Amelia. But could he violate bro code and date his best friend’s little sister?
Amelia Kirkland has been in love with Teague for as long as she can remember. She knows that he will never see her as anything but Alex’s sister. Thanks to the Inn and other circumstances, she now will be sharing an apartment with Teague. Amelia realizes that it will be extremely difficult to live with the only man she has ever loved as roommates. Can she make Teague realize that there is more to her than being Alex’s little sister? If that doesn’t work, can they go back to being just friends?
The family of characters in this series is amazing. I can’t wait to read the others.

Born to Fight (Can’t Resist You Book 1) By Brittany Anne
I was drawn into this story right from the start. Hunter is a resistance fighter and that’s what he was brought up to do. Rain is hiding out until she stumbles onto a very injured Hunter. There is chemistry between these two but Hunter isn’t used to having these feelings and Rain has a secret that she’s afraid will change everything if Hunter finds out. This book is full of action, danger, love, betrayal, great characters and more. I found myself on the edge of my seat at times wondering what was going to happen next. This book left me wanting more, I can’t wait to read what comes next in this series. I recommend this book.

Via Mari gives us a great story of Nick and Allie. There is a poignant push and pull between them that is addicting. This story was well written and hard to put down and it was full of action adventure and all the sexual tension one could want from a dark billionaires book!

I enjoyed reading Christi Barth book Wrong For Him! It was a happily ever after. It contained a lot of steamy love scenes. I absolutely loved the Kirkland family and the chemistry between Amelia and Teague. I loved the romantic relationships between all of the characters. I loved that Amelia and Teague fought for their love against her brother Alex who was very protective of both of them for different reasons especially his sister after his parents death. I found Wrong For Him to be another sweet, charming romance novel on my list of books I love. I wholly suggest you read this fun romantic story, which had a great couple, wonderful characters, and sexy. I now need to go back to read the first two books. These can be read I feel like as a standalone or as a series. Either way the characters are amazing and it is well written.

What a great book by a new to me author! I LOVE LOVE LOVE brothers best friend romances. This one was really fun to read and also heartwarming. I really felt a connection with these characters and felt they could be some of my own friends. I will be going back and reading the first 2 books as I felt a little lost on some things but it didnt take away from the overall story for me.

This story was amazing from start to finish. A great paranormal tale by AJ Renee that is both original and imaginative. It had the perfect amount of romance and suspense all enclosed with many twists and turns you did not expect in this paranormal tale. Ethan and Serena are both witches. Serena is a High Priestess and Ethan an Oracle. While Ethan’s powers are new and something he surely needs help to navigate it is one of the reasons that they come together. Serena is very powerful, the head of her coven, and the perfect person to help Ethan expand his powers. When Ethan begins to have dreams/visions of Serena in danger that is when the story truly begins, and you want to stop to miss a thing. While it was easy to warm to Ethan it took awhile for me to feel the same for Serena, but once I did I loved the idea of them and the chemistry they shared. This is witches and magic at its finest, and was all in all a great story.

An emotionally fraught romance between a grief specialist and a dying cancer patient. When Tori decides to befriend terminally patient Will Emerson, she gets more than she bargained for. As she slowly gets to know the sweet, creative, loving artist, she becomes more and more attached to him. When she realizes the depth of her feelings, she feels powerless to stop it, and he seems to feel the same. I thought this was a well-written work, heavy on Tori’s thoughts and feelings about Will, and what is happening psychologically for them. At parts it felt like the tension was drawn out a little too long, but overall a book I would recommend.

Christi Barth knows good romance! This is my first read by her, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Amelia and Teague have a very sweet love story. From good friends to lovers their story evolved perfectly. Teague was her brothers best friend, and someone she has crushed on for years. Even when he was away in the military she was his light in the dark. Teague himself had a good heart, and feelings for Amelia for quite a time as well. Both are very afraid to take the leap to be together, and as their story unfolds you can’t help but root for them. Its a sweet love story, and makes a good late night read!

5-stars
Wrong for Him is the best friends to lover’s romance read I’ve read this year! It was everything I could possibly want in this genre, it’s funny, witty, sweet, romantic, steamy, heart-breaking and of course full of love!
Right from the get go I was captivated, I connected with the characters from the beginning so I felt really invested in their story and I’m so happy with how it all played out! This is the first book of the series that I have read and I had no problem jumping right in, this book can absolutely be read as a standalone. However, now that I’ve read this one, I will be diving into the first two!
I can’t wait to read more from this author asap! This is a book I would recommend to anyone looking for their next friends to lover’s romance read!

This author, truly puled all my heart strings, and I felt pure and real emotions, I connected with the characters wonderfully, it was beautiful and moving, and the emotions all around me were felt. From joy and bliss to sadness and heartbreak, all the way to hope and taking that step that moves you through life!
No book in a long time has moved my soul with such deep emotions as this one did. I was lost and truly immersed in this book, it brought on may feelings, thoughts, and as well as memories as I read through this book, I am truly grateful I got to read, enjoy, as well as connect to this book. I lost my grandfather years ago to cancer, he was the only real father figure I ever knew, as well as had. Reading this book brought on fond, and at times emotional memories of his final days, I made them the best I could and I knew he wanted me to grow up living life to the fullest. I found that insight was given a lot for this book as well. I found this very much with Tori and Will. The age for Will was young to battle cancer, and this amaing author made it so realistic I truly felt him and Tori were very much real people. And to me not everyone is capabe of doing just that, so to me this made it all more an amazing novel!
Reading through this novel, the moments communicated about life and living the best possible brought on many thoughts and tears on my end All was beautiful and natural to the soul. I could not put this book down in the sense I wanted to keep on reading the feelings it gave upon itself to me. I loved most was that for Tori and Will, though cancer is at play in this book series, what they find in one another is more beautiful that I ever suspected. And I will add their story is not over yet, you never go down without a fight, and that is exactly what these two are doing at all costs. Truly an impacting and beautiful read!
This is a must read for any human with a soul I feel. It makes you see life for all the beauty that it holds, and not the darkness and suffering that the world at times gives us. I had tears rolling down my face as I read in a good way, it was so impacting. I can not recommend this book enough, Powerful and immersing as it truly is, only can be felt upon the reader as they read the story and the words upon the pages.

Wrong for Him was such an enjoyable read and a great introduction to Ms Barth as an author. Teague and Amelia’s story was so lovely to read, they both were such warm and genuine characters and I fell in love with them both instantly. I loved the connection that they had and the banter between them both was great to read about. Although this is the third book in a series, I didn’t feel lost at all and loved all of the other secondary characters. I think I will however be picking up the first two books in the series as I enjoyed this one so much. Overall, a lovely contemporary romance read and one that I would highly recommend to others. I am definitely looking forward to reading the other books by this author.

Wrong For Him Love Lottery Book 3 By Christi Barth ☆☆☆☆☆ This is a story of chance. It all started out as a small group of friends and the struggles life has offered them. By chance lottery tickets were bought and someone got the prize of a lifetime. There is a secret stirring of a romance. Amelia wants more from Teague and he feels the same. But the two fight their inner thoughts. Now working together every day could be a challenge. How will Amelia and Teague keep from letting their hearts be known. Will this cause hardship between them and Alex? Afterall Alex is Amelia’s big brother and Teague’s best friend. Reading this story could answer those questions.
Christi Barth, WOW! Christi Barth has written a 3rd book to this series. It will draw you in just as the others did. It opens more hearts than the characters alone can. The characters are a true balance of friends, ones we would love to know ourselves. Once I started I could not put it down. This story has all the feels of a strong romance. I truly enjoyed reading Wrong For Him. I recommend you read the complete series, as it is a building of friendship, and a story of love. Well Done Christi Barth. Well Done!

Born to Fight is a post apocalyptic book Rain was born into this world and has known nothing else. Life is hard, and everything is a battle. She doesn’t know why she has made life harder on herself by taking in the handsome stranger who was hurt. She nurses Hunter back to health and saves his life. What she doesn’t expect is to fall in love with him. I really enjoyed this book, and Brittany Anne told a wonderful story!

If you are looking for a good dystopian book, with a rebel cause and a steamy love story this is the book for you! Born to fight is the first book in the ‘Can’t resist you’ series! Rain has been living alone for two years escaping a past that is hunting her down but when she meets hunter bloody, bruised and barley breathing she knows she must do something to save him. Hunter is the leader of a resistance; the very thing Rain has always wanted to believe in but had lost all hope for. While Hunter is in a coma like state, he hears her talking, singing, and feels her taking care of him. Once he awakes, he realizes what had happen he is in awe of her but knows that he is in a position that is much bigger than the sparks flying between them. They both have a past to overcome but the big question is can they?? I fell head over heels for this book, the characters were great, the growth and development they showed really comes out in this book! I think Brittany Anne did a brilliant job with this and I am so excited to see what else is to come with this series!

The Queen of bossy, filthy rich alpha man is back. Bringing yet another dramatic and passionate story that blows the mind. These stories make you weep and salivate. The hotness is almost unbearable. Almost. The challenge that is these characters draws you in and nothing else matter but finding out more. Reading that next chapter becomes the most important thing in existence. Via Mari has this genre all worked out and delivers a drama perfectly and with razor sharp precision. Target is hit every single time.
Tenacious was everything dreamy about this trope. As far as the characters so far in this series, I loved Allie and Nick the most. There was just a little something more that stood out in their story. That extra chemistry between the two. The magnetic desire that literally pulsed through the pages made this book seriously difficult to put down. The dialogue was forward and nothing withheld. I loved the tenacity that was the emphasis of the story. Pretty much every aspect of Tenacious I loved. This author executed the perfect story and I simply could not get enough. Bring on more of these sexy men and their divine ladies. 5 stars.

Looking for an unforgettable novel like Me Before You or The Fault in Our Stars but with a silver lining? Then Come Back Tomorrow is your next angsty romance must-read.
William Everson, Jr. is young, he’s dying of terminal cancer, and he’s all alone. I meet him through my mission to befriend terminal cancer patients with no visitors, but it takes me much longer to meet “Will” and to learn anything about his family, his friends, and why he has a DNR order in place.
“Can I come back tomorrow?”
That’s always my question at the end of our visits.
When it becomes his question—“Will you come back tomorrow?”—it changes both of us forever. Will’s given up on life; I won’t let him go without a fight. But is what we share enough to make Will rethink any of his choices . . . before it’s too late?
Come Back Tomorrow follows the heart-wrenching journey through illness to the very edge of life and to the critical decision that must be made: accept your fate or fight with everything you have.
Come Back Tomorrow is the first book of the Embrace Tomorrow Duet.
Amy Argent is the author of Come Back Tomorrow and its sequel, Whatever Tomorrow Brings. Amy can honestly say she writes day and night —clinical trial documents as a medical writer by day and contemporary romance as a novelist by night . . . and possibly into the wee hours of the morning. She has a PhD in Genetics that she agonized entirely too much over, but it did result in a fascinating day job—the details of which tend to creep into her fiction.
Amy can be found in Raleigh, North Carolina, with her husband, two teenagers, and two hedgehogs, where she’s most likely planning her next departure from reality —destination: Dragon Con, the closest Renaissance Faire, or the nearest book.
Amy has always been fascinated by the many ways people cope with the human condition. Her stories explore the emotional journey we take when adversity drastically changes life’s course, but being an eternal optimist, she’s found her niche in soulful stories with silver linings. In truth, they can always be found if one is willing to look for them.

Christi Barth did a wonderful job with this fun witty love story! We all know that sibling friends or friends siblings are deemed off limits but this tale captured the possibilities of what could come! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This book really took me in from the first page of the story. I was not sure what to expect at first, but so glad I read this book and loved the dystopian feel. Hunter is a soldier with the “Resistance”. Objective is to take down the UNR (they are bad). Rain has been alone for 2 years in her safe haven of a bunker, in hiding. When Hunter is left out pretty much for dead, Rain discovers Hunter and nurses him back to health in her bunker. Heat and chemistry between Rain and Hunter sizzles. There are secrets to be discovered, and the world falling apart will Hunter and Rain be together? Definitely read the book to find out. Highly recommended!!

Hunter is a man and exactly as his name implies a hunter. Well a solider to be more exact. He was raised to be a warrior for the resistance. From what I could gather it’s against the UNR after the fall of Western Civilization. Although we never really find out why they are resisting and why the fall occurs. Rain has escaped and finds Hunter at deaths doorstep. She saves him and lies to him. She doesn’t want to be sent back, but her lies could cause trouble for Hunter. This just seems like a really contrived character flaw and I really feel it could have been a written a little more eloquently. There are some extremely erotic scenes and some extremely aggressive scenes. It makes the book in part confusing yet steamy and part emotional yet grating. In the end I was very confused about how I felt about this book. I think I will give it a second chance though and re read it, because the premise of the story itself is really interesting.

Born to Fight (Can’t Resist You Book 1) by Brittany Anne was amazing! This was a short and quick read for me. I’m new to the dystopian genre and have read very few of them. I was immediately sucked in. It was action-packed and suspenseful which kept me intrigued and wondering what would happen as I quickly turned the pages. The characters were all wonderful and relatable and Born to Fight had excellent world-building. I haven’t read Brittany Anne before, but she has a new fan. I can’t wait to read more from her!

Wrong for Him is the third book in the Love Lottery series by Christi Barth. This series was about 4 friends winning the lottery and their prize was an Inn in Chesterfield. Each book follows a different couple as they find their Love Lottery.
Amelia and Teagan were the perfect friends to lovers/best friend’s sibling romance I have read in a while. I enjoyed their story and was completely intrigued by these characters.
I did feel like I was missing something while reading, only because I haven’t read the first two books (I will be fixing this). But overall this fun sweet romance won’t have you disappointed that you start reading Wrong for Him.

This is my first time reading this author and it won’t be the last! Hunter was raised to be a fighter for freedom. When he is severely wounded after trying to save a woman and left for dead by his comrades, Rain finds him and nurses him back to health. She falls in love with him but has her own demons that she has to face before she can truly be free.
This story is almost like a post apocalypse type but it doesn’t get all bogged down in the details. I rather appreciated that I didn’t have to know about how it all fell apart to follow along with the storyline. The “brothers in arms” were all likeable characters that I would want to know if I had to fight back against a regime that was cruel and evil.
I truly enjoyed the story of Hunter and Rain and am looking forward to the story continuing with his brothers finding their other half!

An unexpected love story between Hunter and Rain in the midst of a post-apocalyptic setting. They save each other in different ways. Some action and adventure to go along with it. A good start to a series, can’t wait to read the rest. Very good!

This is book one of the series. It was a really good read. You can predict a bit what will happen but it will not stop you from turning each page to find out what happens. This book is different from other shifter books. Elias is a deer shifter. Mila moves away and after a few years she feels a tug calling her home. She has a connection to the animals and a bit more. Ready to read book two.

The Don is the first book in the Her Three Immortals Series and it is a Why Choose/Reverse Harem series. Just with that fact alone i knew i had to pick it up. I am a sucker for why choose books. This is my first book by this author and this book was a great intro to this authors work and i really liked it! The plot was intriguing and the main characters were awesome. I am excited to see what this author comes out with next and will for sure be continuing this series asap! I would recommend to anyone that enjoys a good why choose book.

The Bow is the 3rd book in the Her Three Immortal series and picks up where book 2 left off, so i would highly recommend reading this series in order to get all of those juicy important details we saw in the previous books. This book is by far my favorite in the series. With every book the authors writing gets better and i was pulled into this world because of the attention to details and world building this author put into their books. The main characters are likeable and i like seeing them overcome so much in the last 3 stories. I cannot wait until the next book comes out and i would for sure read more books by this author in the future!

The God is the 2nd book in the Her Three Immortals series and this book picks up exactly where book number 1 left off so i highly recommend reading these books in order! This book was my favorite in the series so far because it had a little more spice than book number 1. The story grabbed my attention and i didn’t want to leave this world. Its adds more details to the story we started building in book 1, and we are starting to see the bigger picture. There was some romance, mystery and suspense. Good book overall and i would recommend to anyone that liked RH! I am looking forward to reading book number 3 and i know it will be just as good as this one! Happy Reading!
