The Sanctuary Chronicles Box set by India Kells an enchanting collection. This was a great box set as you get the three novels in the Sanctuary chronicles and then a brilliant novella, I loved re-reading books one to three, its been ages since I last did and it was like running into old friends and allies, it took me back and sucked me in again, I love a box set as it means I don’t have to go searching through my kindle for the next novel, when I finish one I have so many it can take an age!! It was a dream getting stuck in again and just what I needed.

Grumbler's Ride (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #2)Grumbler’s Ride by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Grumblers Ride by Manda Mellett a five-star read that won’t leave you grumbling. This is number two in the San Diego chapter, this one is my favourite of this author and I have read a lot, so that’s something, as I don’t usually have a clear favourite. This one does have triggers and one short part really made me catch my breath and need a extra drink. But it was a part of the story and did add something to it, and that’s why this author always writes a compelling story, as they write difficult in a great way, its gritty and hard but so well don’t that you get sucked in and really feel the emotions. Grumbler was such a lovely character, watching him grow and become the man you knew was under the surface and watch everyone realise what was there all along, was amazing. Do pick this author up and do fall in love with a Grumbler.

I don’t always get to read stories about older people. I was really surprised at how it turned out. I shouldn’t have been Manda Mellett is a really good author. I found this story to be refreshing and believable. We all think that with age we are settled and there is no worries. In this story or lead Pasty is anything but settled. Her life hasn’t been easy. She is tired and ready for a change. I really understood Lost character. He couldn’t really find his way. There are days when you just don’t know which way to go. Liked that they both weren’t looking for it and yet they found each other. Being Lost is how most people are feeling in 2020. You just get up and do because there is someone counting on you. I really enjoyed this first book I am betting book 2 will be even better. I am happy that I got to read such a great story. The character great and the plot good. The author has a great flow.

Five stars because I laughed so hard while reading this story. The author really knew what she was doing when she put this together. The main female lead is so ornery and feisty it’s no wonder they want to stake her. I find the fact that they have to get a license to bite hilarious. I just couldn’t get enough. The male lead did upset me a little. Like you turn me because you think I’m you lost love. Nah that’ not how this works. Love me for me not just cause I remind you of someone. The author did a great job giving us something classic with a spin. I am looking forward to see what all the author has to offer. You don’t find many authors who make you go though ups and downs.

This is story that will have you ready to buy all of the authors books. The author gives you so much intense emotion with every page. The depth in which the characters play their roles is amazing. Do you keep the secret or give it all up for love? This was a very suspenseful story. I was shaking my head and omg-ing the whole time. India Kells writes a very compelling story. You will find yourself ready to throw the whole phone and yelling at the characters like they can hear you. I read this in one sitting and ready for more. Orla is a great character. Her development through the story was really good. From start to finish I was with her.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

No Rest for the Wicked (Life Is Hell Book 1) by Naomi Valkyrie is a paranormal romance story. Naomi’s story telling gets better with each book she writes. Her narrative is on point and her characters are delightful. It’s a fast-paced story that doesn’t lack for anything to make it a good strong story. With danger and Demons, shifters and drama, witches and fallen angels and more what could you ask for. Watching Naomi grow as, an author is a pleasure.

So to start India Kells is one of my favorite authors and I love and will read anything she writes. I read the books in this box set separately and love that they are now boxed and I can sit down sometime and read them back to back. They are Amazing!

The secondary characters were completely awesome…I loved the dialogue between all of them and I absolutely could not wait for each story, I loved all of the main characters in this series and I loved the story in the background that kept building, I really want more in this series and can’t help wondering if there just maybe some future stories there??? This series has just about everything a paranormal reader could want Witches, Vampires, Werewolves, Dragons and just some awesome storylines, awesome writing, and each book you just don’t want to put down.

I highly recommend reading all of these books in order so you have all of the characters’ stories up to this point, it just adds to the whole of this series that much more.

Broken Magic: A witch who is cursed and a werewolf who hates her. All he wants is revenge for what happened to his family but fate has different ideas for the two of them. This is a great start to this series.

Blind Magic: Once again, a fated witch and a werewolf. When they get together, it’s electric. With Sera going blind, Ian will break every law to protect her.

Dead Magic: Finn O’ Malley is one of the oldest living vampires. He knows he must stay away from Violet but he can’t. They have a connection so strong that he can feel her as she’s getting tortured. He’ll stop at nothing to find her.

These books are filled with magic, danger and suspense that will keep you glued to your seat. With the addition of mythology, this trilogy is an original piece of work.

Grumbler’s Ride (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #2) by Manda Mellett – Review by Karyn Taylor

Grumbler's Ride (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #2)Grumbler’s Ride by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Grumbler’s Ride is the 2nd book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego Chapter. I first started reading Manda Mellett’s work with the original Satan’s Devils MC chapter and have been a huge fan of her Satan’s Devils MC books ever since. It totally amazes me how she can come up with new and amazing stories each time.
In this book we have the story of Grumbler and Mary. One thing I loved so much about this book is that Grumbler is in his 50’s and Mary is 47. On my next birthday I hit the dreaded 50 and I love that Manda Mellett has chosen to write a romance for the older character. It makes such a change from the usual 20 and early 30 somethings that we get in most romance novels. I loved that we get characters who no longer have perfect bodies and can still be sexy. It gives hope for us oldies who have far from perfect bodies.
I think I say this in every review I write for Manda Mellett’s books but I love that in addition to the romance there is always a fantastic storyline running through the book that has the reader hooked just as much as the romance and this book is no different. The storyline running through this book is quite dark at times and can make for difficult reading but Manda Mellett does an amazing jobs as always for making it such compelling reading. I was totally hooked and did not want to put this book down.
I absolutely adore the men (and women) of the Satan’s Devils and can’t wait to see what Manda Mellett has in store to delight us with next. I will definitely be reading it.

Grumbler's Ride (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #2)Grumbler’s Ride by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Grumbler’s Ride is the second book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series by Manda Mellett. This particular story is about Grumbler, the sergeant-at-arms of the San Diego chapter of the Satan’s Devils MC, and Mary. Grumbler has given his life to his club, as most do when they are part of a motorcycle club. He doesn’t have an old lady or any kids, it seems that his bike is his only companion. Things change for Grumbler when someone wants to feature his bike and his path crosses with Mary’s. Mary is a single mother to her seventeen year old daughter. Like many seventeen year olds, she wants independence but acts like a child at the same time. Mary tries her best to stay ahead of her daughters pursuits, but this time she wants to model and refuses Mary to chaperone. Mary’s motherly instincts kick in but it might be too late. Thankfully Grumbler is there to help. Like many other novels by this author, she does an amazing job walking the fine line of heavy subject matter. She does so in such a tasteful way that she is able to bring awareness to some controversial topics. This story did not disappoint one bit and I look forward to reading other stores in this series.

License to Bite: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen, is a delightful little romance. And what could be better than vampires. But what I like about the vampires in this story is it’s not all drama drama drama. It’s light-hearted and fun especially Jane. She’s very headstrong and confident even in the face of a world she didn’t know existed. Great characters, a great world, and just a delightful story. Reader beware there is an incident of very adult situation. But it’s not so heavy that it distracts from this great little story. This book was a lot of fun.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a fantastic set of stories – I read books 2,3 and the novella but definitely need to make time to read book 1 – they are brilliant reads!!

Book 2 – Blind Magic
I thought that the story was really unique and interesting to read. My attention was grabbed straight away and was held throughout the book. I liked the characters, I thought that they were thought out and they developed well over the story. I thought that Sera was strong female lead, she strong, independent and knew her limits. I really enjoyed reading about her. Ian was also a really strong character, not as alpha as I was expecting but I liked that about him.
There were some great twists and turns in the story that I definitely didn’t see coming.

Book 3 – Dead Magic
Loved this book!! From beginning to end I was completely captivated by Finn and Violet’s story! The author (who I adore) wove a magical paranormal romance tale of two wonderful characters! There was so much going on in the story that I couldn’t put it down at all and read it in one sitting! The story just flowed easily from page to page – I think this could possibly be one of my favourite books by Ms Kells! I love how Violet and Finn really shouldn’t be together, Violet hates vampires, but there was something there between the two of them that was undeniable! I loved the interaction between the two of them! I did feel for Violet and what happened to her in her past and Finn really wanted to protect her.

Novella – Hidden Magic
Hidden Magic may have been a novella but it was packed full with a wonderful storyline and equally as wonderful characters. I am completely in love with Kat and Brant’s story, it is just so beautifully written. Brant’s determination just showed how much Kat means to him and I was rooting for them the whole way through. I honestly thought that they were so perfect for each other.
The whole story is just so beautifully and richly detailed that at times it is so easy to imagine what I am reading.

I never get tired of reading books by this author, I often wonder how she can write so many books and never repeat storylines but she doesn’t. Every character is different and they always have a way of making you fall in love with them straight away. I really liked Grumbler, he was a little more mature than I first thought he was going to be so I really liked that about him, I really liked this connection he had with Mary, they were both great characters to read about. This is the second book in the San Diego chapter of the Satan’s Devil MC and it looks as though it’s going to be a great division to read about.
I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series! This is a highly recommended series.

When I read the synopsis of this book, I thought the Sheriff was going to be a bad guy… not a love interest! I am very happy about where things have ended. It makes me want to get the rest of the series!!! I think that if you love Demons, Witches, Angels, and what I believe to be a siren. Then this is the book for you! There are a ton of twists and there isn’t exactly a cliffhanger, but it does leave you wanting more.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you love short stories you will love this book! Big City Heat: A High-Rise Romance Anthology is a book of short stories written by 12 amazing authors. I liked this book because of the multiple authors. Every story is written differently and the plots were definitely all different, but it all amounts to the same thing, Hot Steamy Romance! However, all the stories have a common scenario, which is that the romance blossoms inside high-rise buildings. That being said, all the stories are based in large metropolitan cities. Some of these stories will make you laugh and others will make you swoon. All the characters were wonderful. All the sexy scenes were on fire! I thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every story. I couldn’t put this book down! I can’t say enough of how good this book is. I would definitely recommend it to all romance readers out there. These stories almost make me believe in romance fairytales.

This Anthology was a great 5 star read and a great opportunity to read a story from a new author or one of your favorites. These are two of my favorites from the collection.

THe 57th floor – Hazel Storm
This is Madelyn and Peter’s story. Madelyn is a matchmaker and her grandmother has set up a meeting for Madelyn to help Peter. After her grandmother has an accident she keeps the meeting with Peter. When they meet there are instant sparks but she has to keep it professional. Will they be able to resist the connection?

44th & Blue – Jody Payne
Benjamin gets a surprise when he meets the man finishing up the work on his new office space. Cole, who at the time was just a hookup but fate has other plans for them. Can these two have more than they thought?

Overall I really enjoyed all of the stories, we get a little bit of everything. I look forward to reading more from these authors. All of the characters were great. If you are looking for a great collection to read 1-click and get started today.

Big City Heat: A High-Rise Romance Anthology (A Steamy Contemporary Romance Box Set) – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Big City Heat: A High-Rise Romance AnthologyBig City Heat: A High-Rise Romance Anthology by Hazel Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I ‘binge read’ this box set of contemporary romances which includes twelve standalone and full stories by twelve different amazing authors. The common theme was that each story was a romance set in the Big City, in particular in the city high-rises. The Anthology has stories about, “an exotic cocktail – billionaire, fakes, curvy women, older men, interracial, LGBTQ, straight, office, mafia, and much, much more”. The stories in this anthology are: The 57th Floor by Hazel Storm, A Change of Plans by PE Kavanagh, A Hole by Phoebe Alexander, One Night with A Knight by Aidy Award, Jodi Payne’s 44th & Blue, Maida Malby’s Global City Tryst, and Felling Bechet by Stella Williams, also, The Wolf of Wall Street by Lucy Eden, Make Me Beg by Moni Boyce, Jayce Ellis’s Courtney, The Glass Tower by Emily Gray, and finally The Right Note by author Bree Kraemer. I like the fact that, “A portion of net proceeds goes to the Equal Justice Initiative”.
One story which stood out for me was from an author I enjoy reading, Phoebe Alexander. In ‘A Hole’, I loved the main characters, comedian Ace Bennett and Ella Craig, the lady he invites to his comedy show and who he dares that if he succeeds in making her laugh she had to have a drink with him. After lots of meddling from friends and a number of misunderstandings I was really cheering Ace and Ella on hoping they would get a happy ending. A lovely romance, a bit of drama and plenty of steamy scenes and a chemistry which sizzled off the page resulted in me reading the story in one sitting. Another story which stood out amongst all these enjoyable and engaging stories in the anthology was by a new author to me, Emily Gray. In ‘The Glass Tower’, Zel Thatcher has been imprisoned in a glass tower by his tyrannical uncle and longs for the day he can escape. Only his passion for music keeps him alive until music royalty Regina Prince comes into his life. Having heard an exquisite performance Regina goes searching for its source which leads her to Zel. Regina never imagined that she would discover someone like Zel whose heart sings just like hers does. However, Zel’s uncle is set in destroying the couples happily ever after. These two characters had instant attraction which really came across in the writing and I loved how their relationship developed and the plot had enough drama to keep me hooked and also plenty of romance to keep me happily turning the pages.
I thoroughly enjoyed each story in the anthology and although each story had its own differing amounts of drama they all had plenty of romance and lots of hot and steamy scenes.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Anthologies are my favorite! 12 stories with different authors. Some new to me and some not. This is the best way to get a taste of a new author.

These stories are set in…the big city…These stories are steamy. The characters are adventurous and daring. Starting at the top with The 57th Floor by Hazel Storm. What a cute and sexy story! Madelyn Harris is every parent’s dream child. Or in her case grandparent’s dream grandchild. Madelyn is a hard, dedicated worker. So dedicated that she doesn’t see what is right in front of her. Luckily Madelyn has her grandmother to help her. Another story that was fun to read is A Hole by Phoebe Alexander. How needs a reminder that friends are important? Ace’s friends are hilarious! I hope there are more stories about them! Ella and Ace are the victims of a misunderstanding. Hopefully those friends can help them figure it out.

Definitely recommend this anthology. These stories are easy and quick to read. Added bonus is that some of the proceeds go to a good cause!

I am not going to review all 12 stories as I’d be here for hours but instead have chosen to review my personal favourite from them and that is A Hole by Phoebe Alexander. I’ve been a huge fan of Phoebe Alexander’s work for a couple of years now and just knew that I was going to love reading A Hole.
The ‘A’ in A Hole is Ace, a comedian who has a massive crush on the bank teller in the building he works in but the thing is her friends has told her he’s an A hole! But is he really?
This is a funny, hot steamy romance that I’m sure you’ll love if that’s the kind of book you enjoy. It is a novella so it’s not a long drawn out story. It’s fast and flows well and I can guarantee that you’ll be hooked to Ace and Ella’s story.

License to Bite: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Nicole Noble

License to Bite (New Orleans Nocturnes, #1)License to Bite by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sometimes you just need something light and fun. You know, when you’ve had that hard day at work, the kids are annoying you, and dinner’s burned. You just want to get away from it all. Well, this is definitely a ‘Calgon’ kinda book! (Does anyone else get that reference?)

License to Bite: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen was a cute campy read. As a first-time reader of Ms. Pulkinen, I enjoyed the premise of the story and found myself chuckling along. Ethan Devereaux, a “young” vamp meets Jane Anderson and is instantly intrigued. She pulls at him in some unforeseen way and he can’t figure out why. When circumstances force Ethan to “turn” Jane, he thinks it’s fate at hand. Until Jane “wakes up” and he’s wondering what he ever did to deserve what fate has plopped into his lap.
Jane Anderson is just coasting along in life. The daughter of the governor of Texas, she is itching to stretch her wings and her trip to ‘The Big Easy’ with her best friend is her chance. Until she meets Ethan (kinda). Interested in discovering more about the mysterious man, she is unprepared when she finds herself in his home and undead.

Now Ethan must teach her everything she needs to know about being a vampire and Jane has to get over her aversion to blood to get her vampire license. But not everyone wants to see Ethan and Jane succeed. Can Ethan help Jane get over her quirks in time or will they both end up staked,

Using witty humor combined with interesting characters, Ms. Pulkinen weaves a good tale that keeps the reader engaged. The chemistry between the two main characters is not heavy but consistent. The sub-characters are fun and interesting, leading the reader to want to know them better. If you are looking for a cute lighthearted book, this is one you should definitely pick up.

A Hole is a fun short story about a comedian who may have been mistaken for someone else. He has his eye on a particular bank teller. Will she say yes and go out with Ace? What will happen when the truth comes out out? If you like Romance and hot and steamy Romance , I highly recommend reading this Anthology. I mean who doesn’t love a great Anthology? This is a gift from the world of Anthologies. Each story is short, and I was able to read a few new authors which next to reading favorites is one of my favorite things about an anthology.

Reviewing a couple of my favorites from the entire collection.

A Hole by Phoebe Alexander

5 Stars

This was a fun quick read and keeps you on your toes wondering what will happen next. It’s the first in a new series by Phoebe Alexander and I already can’t wait to read the rest of them, especially if it continues on with the different characters that are in this one. While I normally prefer a longer book with more meat to the story this one had everything needed to feel the connection that formed and also with the inner dialogue for each of the main characters I was able to understand each of them. I laughed out loud more than once while reading and really hope Ace and Ella show up in the next story as well so we can see how they are doing.

The Right Note by BREE KRAEMER

5 Stars

Awwww, this was such a sweet read, fast moving and I finished it in less than 30 minutes. Henry and Eliza and their story was awesome, although everything happened quickly it still felt as though I got everything I needed to feel the connection growing between these two. I loved the relationship between Eliza and Nathan and laughed out loud during their conversations. I would have loved a longer story with these two but am happy with what I got. Big City Heat: A High-Rise Romance Anthology (A Steamy Contemporary Romance Box Set) – Review by Angela Hayes

Big City Heat: A High-Rise Romance AnthologyBig City Heat: A High-Rise Romance Anthology by Hazel Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Big City Heat: A High-Rise Romance Anthology is an enthralling collection of twelve stories from twelve talented authors. There are a huge variety of stories here, from second chances, friends to lovers, Billionaire, Alpha Males, sister’s best friend, fantasy, contemporary, romantic suspense, new beginnings, mafia, and M/M. So, get comfortable and settle in for some wonderful reading, which will captivate you through every page. There is definitely something here for everyone- you are sure to love this collection as much as I have!

This collection contains:

The 57th Floor: by Hazel Storm
What happens when an executive matchmaker arrives at a meeting with a new client only to find her own perfect match. The only problem is there is no mixing business with pleasure. He is a client. And now she has to find him his perfect match. Follow Madelyn and Peter as they bend a few rules. Will love win out in the end?

A Change of Plans: by P.E. Kavanagh
This is a ‘sisters’-best friend-romance’ with all the ingredients needed to make for a great read. Jonah has had a crush on his sisters’ best friend for as long as he can remember. Now see the sparks fly as a massive blizzard sees them stranded in a high-rise apartment together as they wait out the storm. Peter is determined to make the most of their time together to. It may be cold outside, but its definitely hot and steamy inside, as the blizzard rages.

A Hole: by Phoebe Alexander
In typical Phoebe Alexander style this story was hot, witty and very entertaining. Ace Bennett is trying to make a name for himself as a comedian. Then he meets Ella and we watch as he tries to win her over. Add some meddling friends to the mix, a few misunderstandings, a little angst, some humour, and a whole lot of heat- really made for a fun read.

The Wolf of Wall Street: by Lucy Eden
Aurora Douglas (Rory) knew the ruthless reputation of her new boss CEO Luis Pine, but she is about to discover just what a beast he is, in every sense of the word. This is a paranormal romance with an alpha male wolf shifter who finds his fated mate in Rory. With off the charts chemistry, keeping things professional was always going to be difficult. But having fate at play, as well as a little drama, some angst, and emotion- gave this story an interesting spin.

One Night with A Knight: by Aidy Award
“I hadn’t told anyone I’d gotten a waitressing gig at the grand re-opening of the infamous Asylum club. Some billionaire had bought it and was moving to the top floor of Cruz Tower…”
Camila (Mila) hasn’t had the best of luck lately, so a night out with friends is supposed to lift her spirits. Hudson is a star player with the New York Knights enjoying time at the Asylum Club with his teammates. Hudson and Camila have a history together and this story is about second chances and how one night can change everything.

44th & Blue: by Jodi Payne
Cole and Ben met at a club and have been hooking up ever since. But when Ben’s Law Firm moves into a new high-rise office, he never expected to discover Cole working on the final refurbishing touches. Ben doesn’t like complicated, as his life is perfectly compartmentalized for that very reason. He pushes Cole away- but Cole isn’t won’t go down without a fight. This is a fun, angsty, M/M romance with a touch of emotion that made for a great read.

Courtney: by Jayce Ellis
Courtney is a fashion photographer who has been working abroad finally arrives home after many years away. He intends to take time to relax and reconnect with life here. But things take an interesting turn when he meets Tracey. This is a sweet M/M romance about finding love unexpectedly.

The Right Note: by Bree Kraemer
I can always count on Bree Kraemer to deliver a captivating read, and that is definitely the case with this wonderful story. Eliza and Henry show how music can lead the way to love.

Felling Bechet: by Stella Williams
Sometime love sneaks up when you least expect it. Bechet and Isis have a ‘no-strings-attached’ arrangement that seemed to be the perfect plan. But things take a complicated turn when Bechet takes a fall.

The Glass Tower: by Emily Gray
Love is a powerful force. But can it survive hostile pressure intent on destruction? A captivating story that had me flipping the pages to discover how everything would play out in the end.

Make Me Beg: by Moni Boyce
This is a great romantic suspense- an enemies to lovers mafia romance with all the elements I love to find in a captivating read. Sexy, steamy, intriguing, and dramatic.

Global City Tryst: by Maida Malby
Global City Trust is the prequel to Singapore Fling and is A Carpe Diem Chronicles Novelette by Maida Malby. This is my first read from Ms. Alby, s I really didn’t know what to expect going into the book. What I discovered was a sexy story about a torrid weekend fling that may be more than our MC’s Maddie and Aiden expected.

All the stories in this anthology are really quite wonderful and engrossing- with superb plots, interesting and endearing characters- and each story was well-written.
There are some funny, light-hearted and touching moments; some hot and spicy times; some dramatic developments and suspenseful moments- as well as some tender heart-melting romance. There is definitely something here to please everyone. It is worth every cent of the purchase price- 12 books for the price of one! Now that is a bargain!

Thank you to all the contributing authors!

Big City Heat: A High-Rise Romance Anthology (A Steamy Contemporary Romance Box Set) – Review by Kerry Baker

Big City Heat: A High-Rise Romance AnthologyBig City Heat: A High-Rise Romance Anthology by Hazel Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Big City Heat: A High-Rise Romance Anthology (A Steamy Contemporary Romance Box Set) is a collection of stories that will be sure to get your blood pumping! With a great selection of authors to choose from each and everyone of these stories brings something different to the anthology as a whole.
I liked the fact that with this anthology I got a mix of authors I was familiar with as well as ones I hadn’t read before. It meant that I knew going into it I would like at least some of the stories but it also gave the excitement of discovering new authors. Each book was different from the rest so it was easy to keep track of each of the individual stories. I liked the fact that I could pick it up and put it down between books without it feeling like it broke the overall feeling this series gave me.
I enjoyed each of the books in this anthology to varying degrees and overall I would say this is well worth your time! I am looking forward to reading more by each of these authors.
