Degrees Of Innocence
A Prestian Series
Book 1
By Via Mari
☆☆☆☆☆
This is erotica story with so much more. Not for those under 18 due to content.

Katarina is a smart design consultant. But she is so much more. She has had her share of disappointments and still presses on. As nobody can do it for her. She meets Chase Prestian, but knows she needs to stay far, far away. She is drawn in by his smile and beautiful eyes, but she must stay far, far away. She has no clue who he is and why she can’t stop thinking about him. So the story begins…….

This is the first book I have read by Via Mari, and it won’t be the last. How she tells her story is clear and full of romance. Yes it is erotic! Yes her characters are loveable and unforgettable. But is that not what we want in a good romance. I loved every page of this story. I think I loved it more because it was not just sex. It is a story of one’s discovery of self worth. I will be looking for and reading more from this author.

Conviction
An Ash Park Novel
By Meghan O’Flynn
☆☆☆☆☆
This is a suspenseful rollercoaster of so many emotions. There is a romance in the story, but the other side of the story is so much more.

Shannon is a district attorney, working for her ex husband. When she wrongfully convicts the wrong woman. Things just feel wrong. Her husband told her to drop it. What’s done is done. Being the woman Shannon is, she needs to make things right. But with everything, doing what’s right has its consequences. This made be the fight of her life. I never expected the outcome!

Meghan O’Flynn had me on the edge of my seat on page one. Her story is a non stop ride of epic proportions. I have never cried so hard, while reading a book. This one just kept bring the intrigue. I could not put it down. Okay I put it down at 3:30 in the morning. Then I sat and pondered over what I had just read. Cried a little more, then fist pumped at Shannons bravery and strength. Such a great story. If you like suspenseful stories this one’s for you. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Addicted to Love (Bayou Devils MC) By A.M. Myers – Review By Heidi Eich Woodring

Addicted to Love (Bayou Devils MC #2)Addicted to Love by A.M. Myers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Addicted to love by A.M. Myers is the second book in the Bayou Devils Mc book series. And let me tell you, this book did not disappoint AT ALL. This book touched something that happened to Carly when she was younger and that caused her to build walls in order to protect herself. That’s when Chance enters the picture. On the outside, he’s the bad, biker boy she knows she should stay away from but yet she is keeps being drawn to him, even when she pushes him away. Chance knew the second he saw Carly, she was it for him, and he will not ever give up on something he wants. When trouble hits Carly and her sister, only the Bayou Devils that can help and this brings Carly and Chance even closer.
I really loved this book and while I loved the first, this one took the cake! This book was intense, strong, and emotional! I could not stop, the twists and turns, the emotion, really shine through and again shows us WHAT AN AMAZING author A.M. Myers truly is. This five star read, truly is a MUST read!

My Fake Vegas Boyfriend By Lori Sizemore – Review By Michelle Mulvey

My Fake Vegas Boyfriend (Viva Las Vegas, #1)My Fake Vegas Boyfriend by Lori Sizemore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My Fake Vegas Boyfriend by Lori Sizemore was definitely a 5 Star read for me. Layla was living in the pool house on her parents property. Her mother made her think she was crazy. Layla definitely had some issues but it was due to the unstable living environment.

Layla was caught taking pictures of a high profile person which she did as a hobby. Jace was the head of security in the hotel that was in charge of keeping things private so he must get those pictures before they made it to the news or just made it to the wrong hands. When he found Layla, he was attracted to her but, he wasn’t there for that. Jace was there for the pictures and that was all. Layla would give him the photos / negatives in exchange for something. She was blackmailing him to be her boyfriend to protect her. I do not want to give any information away but, trust me when I tell you…you want to read this book. It was a great read and kept me entertained from page 1.

Every Breath You Take by A.M Myers
4 Stars

Let me start off by saying that the Bayou Devils MC series is amazing! If you have not read it, you need to start with part one. This is part three and though it can be read as a stand-alone, each book is awesome and totally worth reading. Each story focuses on a different couple and this one is centred around Kodiak and Tatum. We met Kodiak briefly in the other two books and now we finally learn his story. He lost his father at the age of fifteen which forced him to grow up fast and become the man of the house. He has been the rock for many people but he has made plenty of mistakes along the way. From the moment he laid eyes on Tatum, he knew she would be the one to put him back together.

I loved Tatum, she is such a badass. She can truly kick butt and her favourite weapon is a taser. She cracked me up! She had a nomadic childhood until her mother finally settled in Baton Rouge. After the devastation of her mother’s death, she realizes she never really knew her mother at all. She has so many questions with no answers. Kodiak is the only stability that she has but something happens that shakes the entire foundation, bringing the walls crumbling down.

I enjoyed the book and I’m glad they didn’t tiptoe around each other. Both have very straightforward characters and they got right to the point. When the boys of the Bayou Devils love someone, they love them with their entire being. They don’t just give a woman their heart, they give them their entire soul.

Beneath a Blue Moon (Crescent City Wolf Pack, #2)Beneath a Blue Moon by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Beneath a Blue Moon by Carrie Pulkinen
4 Stars

I thought I enjoyed the first book. This one is even better! I was so happy to realize that this story was going to be about Chase Beauchamp, Luke’s right hand man. His love interest is Rain Connelly. She is everything that he could have hoped for and more. Unfortunately, she’s a witch. He’s had a grudge against witches since he was young. Nothing good ever came from his encounters with them. To top things off, he knows she’s hiding something. He plans to find out what.

Rain is cursed and was tossed out of the witch community with her powers bound. For seven years she has been trying to break the curse. She finally got an unbinding spell from an old witch and has been slowly gathering the ingredients. She all but gives up hope when she finds out what is the final ingredient until fate throws a sexy werewolf in her life. Getting the last ingredient could cost Chase his life.

The book was full of action, sexual tension and plot twists. Witches, werewolves and curses. Though the bad guy was evil and hateful, he was a cool antagonist with some twisted powers. I loved the fact that the Connelly sisters were named after their powers. This is a definite must read. I can’t wait to see what the author has coming next.

Kingdom of the Damned: Provocation (Kingdom Journals Prelude) by Tricia Copeland – Review by Angela Hayes

Kingdom of the DamnedKingdom of the Damned by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars

Kingdom of the Damned: Provocation is the prelude to the Kingdom Journals by Tricia Copeland. It is a paranormal fantasy full of vampires, witches, history, drama, suspense, adventure and discovery. This book is so wonderfully descriptive and vividly detailed, bringing every scene to life before my eyes. The imagery is superb. Ms. Copeland is a fantastic author who delivers a complex and captivating story- I loved how she combined some history with fantasy and made it entirely believable. This is the prelude to the other books in the series- “ Kingdom of Embers” (Book One: Alena’s story), “Kingdom of Darkness” (Book Two: Camille’s story), “Kingdom of Honor” (Book Three: Jude’s story) and “Kingdom of War” (Book Four: Hunter’s Story- due for release in 2019) so you don’t need to have read the other books in the series first, but I can guarantee you will probably want to by the time you’ve finished this.
Anne Scott was born a vampire and would have good reason to be full of hate and anger- her family were all killed by witches, forcing her to flee to a foreign country when she was only two. Living among humans wouldn’t have been easy, but she not only survived, but thrived. But then tragedy strikes again, devastating Anne once more. Heartbroken, she searches for meaning, for belonging and ends up on an epic journey of discovery, that fuels her passion for peace.
Anne really is a fantastic character, but then I really wouldn’t have expected anything less from Ms. Copeland. All the characters were fully developed and interesting. The character growth over the course of the story was wonderful to see. I love the solid foundation that this book brings to the series, as a whole, and helps me to better appreciate it.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book!

Thank you, Ms. Copeland!

Kingdom of the DamnedKingdom of the Damned by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let me just start with the gorgeous cover of this book! I adore it, and it lured me in before I even read the synopsis. I have read Tricia Copeland’s work before but I think this has by far become my favorite novel of hers yet. I think the paranormal genera is her strong suit, and I am dying to get my hands on the remainder of this series as it is released. This is the introduction or prelude so to speak of the Kingdom Journals and really sets everything up for the reader. I love when an author does this because it entices the reader to come back for more. It has us hooked on the story and invested in the characters. I know I need to find out what will come for Anne in the future.

Who is Anne you ask, well I will give you a brief hint, but for the majority you will have to one-click this beauty to find out for yourself, and you won’t be disappointed. Anne is a vampire. Her and her family are living among pagans and trying their best to blend in and hide to stay alive. Anne has one goal, to bring peace to the world. This is no small feat, in fact it seems nearly impossible. However, this woman has no plans of giving up, and one bad** chick. Where will her endeavors to restore peace take her? Oh and watch out for that killer ending!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Star
Georgia on My Mind ( Southern Promises Book 2) By KG Fletcher is the second book in the Southern Promises series. I definitely recommend reading the first book in this series as well. I’ve loved this series so far but I think this story is my favorite. It pulled at my heart more so than Clay and Katie’s story.i had the hardest time putting this down once I started reading. I had to know what happens next. This is Gia and Hart’s story.Gia is one who doesn’t like to depend on others for help and that includes not only her personal life but her business as well. Hart finds himself in a situation that has him swearing off women. Until he meets Gia that is.The attraction these two have is incredibly hot! Can these two have a relationship with a HEA? I recommend reading this book especially if you are dying to know what happens with these two. I can’t wait for the third book in this series. As always I can’t wait to read more from this author.

it made for an interesting twist to the book. I look forward to reading more from this author and I also

Just ExesJust Exes by Charity Ferrell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just Exes by Charity Ferrell was a great, steamy, emotional read about second chances. When I say emotional, I don’t think you understand just how emotional it gets.

I have never read a book by Charity before and I have to say, this is probably one of my top 10 reads of 2018. The characters are just amazing. Gage and Lauren have loved eachother their whole lives. One day instead of Lauren and Gage going away to college she literally breaks his heart when she breaks up with him without giving him a reason.

Gage Perry decides to move to Chicago and work on the police force there. Then after some more heart break he moves back home to Blue Beech and ends up being the arresting officer who is called when Lauren Barnes is accused of setting her apartment on fire.

Gage honestly HATES Lauren for what she did to him all those years ago but, she is also the only one he ever loved.

Gage and Lauren see a lot of eachother in the upcoming months. They even try to be “friends” but there are way to many secrets between them. Between his past in Chicago and her reasons for why she broke up with him. The chances of them being friends is very slim. The two of them are still in love with eachother but they have major problems.

Amazing 5 Star read!

My 3rd read by this author…and the 3rd of this ongoing story…I don’t know where to begin with this review. If there’s a feeling to be felt, I felt it while reading this story. I loved them all but this one? Oh My Goodness…no doubt my favorite and that’s saying a lot because the other two were AMAZING!

This author has a way of grabbing you and not letting go, I read this entire book in one sitting, this storyline completely shattered me. Now that was only part of it, it also had me laughing out loud many times, it also had me wanting to take my kindle outside and run over it a few times with a truck…Like I said if there’s a feeling, I felt it. I loved the characters from the first 2 books returning and being a pretty big part of this story, I loved the interactions between all of the characters but the dialogue between Lauren and Gage was spot on perfection.

I’m not even going to try to sum up what happened in this book, it wouldn’t be fair to those that haven’t read it yet…You do not have to read any of these in order but I highly suggest that you do because although you won’t be lost, you will really want the stories that came before. You will also want something very close to punch or throw, you will also want a couple boxes of tissues very close, and you will want a bit of time because you will not want to put this down.

I can’t even tell you how much Im looking forward to more books by this author..She is awesome and her talent for writing a story puts her in a class of her own. Read this, read all of them I promise you will not be sorry!!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third book in the romancing the spies series and the third book that I have absolutely loved! Her stories captivate me from the beginning to the end and her writing just flows seamlessly. Skye and Zane were brilliant characters, so much passion and chemistry between them which resulted in some particularly steamy scenes between them. They had a great connection and I really enjoyed reading about them.
I have yet to find a historical romance writer whose books I cannot wait to read more of by I definitely have in Ms Barnes. I absolutely adore her writing, her attention to detail in both the settings for the stories and the amazing characters she creates. This book could be read as a standalone however I would also highly recommend books 1 and 2 you will not be disappointed!
I can’t wait for more from this author in the future!

Blind Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles #2)Blind Magic by India Kells
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When I first read the blurb for this book I was really intrigued and it sounded a little different to anything that I had read before. I have read something by this author previously so I had high hopes that the writing would be good and I wasn’t disappointed at all.
I thought that the story was really unique and interesting to read. My attention was grabbed straight away and was held throughout the book. I liked the characters, I thought that they were thought out and they developed well over the story. I thought that Sera was strong female lead, she strong, independent and knew her limits. I really enjoyed reading about her. Ian was also a really strong character, not as alpha as I was expecting but I liked that about him.
There were some great twists and turns in the story that I definitely didn’t see coming and I definitely want to read book 1 in the series now!
A great story that I highly recommend.

Repressed (Ash Park, #3)Repressed by Meghan O’Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Repressed is the brilliant third book in the Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. WOW! This book was intense, dark, disturbing, chilling, graphic, dramatic, and gripping!! This psychological thriller is a superb addition to the series and had me swinging between never wanting to put it down, and needing a break from the tension and suspense. I was glued to the pages from beginning to end, reading it in one sitting- and absolutely loved every mind twisting minute.
The series has been such a fantastic read, and this book just took the series to another level. I didn’t think it could get any better, but I was wrong! This book could be read as a standalone, if you wanted to, but there is a recurring cast of characters and snippets of backstory and previous plot information that pop up in this book, so reading all the books would give you a bigger picture and provide a larger, more developed perspective- which in turn will enhance your overall reading experience. The books are all really great- quite intriguing and suspenseful, so you it’s really a win-win situation!
I knew when I met Curtis Morrison back in book one that there was going to be so much more to him that what he was letting on, or what we were being shown- and man-oh-man this story really unveils him in a raw and revealing way! His story was startling, intense, emotional, and unforgettable! He has been through so much and come so far, but his past just won’t let him forget! After the harrowing events in the previous book, and Curtis and Shannon getting married and having little Evie, this book picks up with them adjusting to parenthood, Shannon trying to manage with Postpartum depression, and Curtis returning to work after a month off. Things are never simple in Ms. O’Flynn’s world, because it’s not long before we are once more swept into another brilliantly twisted tale. This is definitely the best of the bunch so far!
Bring on book #4!

Thank you, Ms. Flynn!!!

Transformations (The Shifter Series Book #1) by Cari Schaeffer – Review by Angela Hayes

Transformations (The Shifter Series, #1)Transformations by Cari Schaeffer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars

Transformations is the first book in The Shifter Series by Cari Schaeffer. It is a paranormal shifter story with a bit of a twist. It has quite an original premise and is definitely not the usual shifter fare. I was intrigued by what the story would reveal, and curious to see where everything would lead. This is a tale of a feud between two powerful shifter families that has spanned many generations and hundreds of years. No one really knows exactly what happened to cause the war between them, but the battle lines are still drawn and tensions continue to this day! All of this is woven around a interesting coming of age story.
The story is told from several points of view which really help to build the bigger picture. There was a lot of information and characters, and at times I did question whether ALL of the information and scenes were necessary, as some of the details seemed unwarranted and superfluous to the story.
We meet Katherine Wolff (Kat) and her quirky, close-knit family. At seventeen, she’s one of the younger members of her clan. Her abilities have yet to emerged and she is both expectantly wondering what her ‘powers’ will be, and wishing that she could just be ‘normal’. It’s been many years since the Wolff’s have encountered their enemy, the Barotkoff family- but it’s expected that they will eventually strike again.
When a handsome and mysterious stranger pops up with a warning that the Wolff’s are in peril, it doesn’t take long before things take on a dangerous turn. It turns out that the mysterious stranger is in fact part of their rival family. Christopher Barotkoff swears he is nothing like his family and only wants to help the Wolff’s. But can they really trust him? Is there something more to his sudden appearance? And when things start to heat up between Kat and him, can she trust him with her heart?
The story had some great banter, funny quips and antics which added another element of entertainment to the overall storyline. This book has very long chapters and the story was a little slow to get going. I felt there was too much time spent on character introductions and exploring the Wolff’s family dynamics, and life. I didn’t feel like the ‘story’ actually started till about the 9th chapter. The book ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger and I will definitely be reading the next book, “Transgressions”, to see how everything turns out.

Thank you, Ms. Schaeffer!

A Monster Like Me (Heart of Darkness, #2) by Pamela Sparkman – Review by Sarah Oakes

A Monster Like Me (Heart of Darkness, #2)A Monster Like Me by Pamela Sparkman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A spellbinding read about second chances. Zeph has always been on the dark side and has done many terrible things along the way. When he tried to kill himself in despair, he is saved and healed by an elf. Surrounded by people who hate him, will Zeph change for the better or return to his old ways?
A brillaint read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Zeph cold personality while struggling with his feelings or Arwyn living in hope but still standing up for herself. Zephs struggles to find his way and not be a monster was powerful and emotive throughout. Great supporting cast of fun friends like Lorchlan or Seary.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the sea and the cliff and the forest as wild untamed beauty which was perfectly written. I also loved the detail of the monsatery as something sacred but unique. I also loved the use of opposites in the novel in light and dark/ night and day or religion and magic which worked beautifully together to make contrasts with wonderful vivid colours.
I also loved the fantasy used in the novel with realms and magic with different societies and laws to create a spellbinding fantasy world. The inclusion of magical beings with different powers and mystical creatures of darker mythology made for a captivating read and was beautifully written. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Broken Circle (Gray Ghost #1) by Amy McKinley – Review by Robin Rankin

Broken Circle (Gray Ghost #1)Broken Circle by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Broken Circle is the first book on the Gray Ghost series by Amy McKinley. What a way to start a series. Even after reading the synopsis I was surprised by some of the events that took place.

Olivia is a rock star. Married to an officer with NYPD I’m sure is stressful enough, but to add the added stress of the in laws she just amazed me.

This book took a totally different direction from what I was expecting but it was perfect. And the last three chapters…..

Cannot wait to read the next book!

The Last Keeper of the Light: a dystopian fantasy by Nikki Broadwell

5 Stars

I finished this book about 20 minutes ago and have been sitting here staring at my screen trying to figure out how to write a review that will even come close to the brilliance this book carries.

Let me start with I like dystopian stories but I have a hard time reading them because I get lost in the storyline or sometimes they are a little over the top. This one…WOW is the main thought in my mind.

“We have met the enemy and he is us” ~Pogo Possum

That right there at the start of this story says it all and the Prophecies of the Hopi Indians that have been passed down through the years..holy moly. I’ll be honest as well, I’ve already googled the Hopi tribe, I just had to know if they were real.

I guess what got me most throughout this whole story was how real it felt, this could sincerely be something that happens and I followed every single word, I was hooked right from the start, it didn’t take a few pages to get there, I was there. Sandal’s journey was one I would not have the strength or courage to ever take and because of all of who she was and became in this story I think she has become my favorite book heroine ever! I’m not even going to go into the storyline, the author has exactly the right amount in her synopsis and it was enough to draw me in and will have a hold of me for quite some time. I know for a fact the thoughts I have after reading this will be thoughts that stay with me from now on.

I have no other words except this author has blown me away, shattered me, and all I can think of is I want to read it again and I need to recommend it so I can talk about it. This was my first book by this author and its safe to say I will be reading any and everything she writes..coming away from the story itself and looking only at the writing talent she is out of this world amazing.

Thank you Thank you Thank You Nikki Broadwell! This might just be my favorite read so far this year!

Brilliant!!

Beneath a Blue Moon (Crescent City Wold Pack, #2) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Heather Bahm

Beneath a Blue Moon (Crescent City Wolf Pack, #2)Beneath a Blue Moon by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Carrie Pulkinen’s Beneath a Blue Moon is the second book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack; this paranormal romance features one sexy werewolf and a caring, but distant witch – the makings of a climatic story!! Each book within this series can be read as a standalone, but by reading them sequentially in order, the reader will learn more about the characters as they overlap into subsequent books with each book featuring a different set of main characters. In Beneath a Blue Moon, the author adds more to the paranormal aspects of this story giving it additional depth and appeal. Chase is one brooding werewolf that is more than just a member of the pack. It’s that allure that Rain is unable to deny despite how much she tries. Other forces are at work within this story that makes things less than easy between Chase and Rain – an adventure with suspense and danger lurking plus some serious chemistry!
