This is the seventh book in “The Italian Saga” which is a series of “coming of age” books. While you can read THE IMMIGRANT as a stand-alone, there are references to characters we’ve previously met. If this is the first book you are reading by this author, I imagine you will want to go back to the beginning to see how we ended up here.
The author is extremely detailed in her writing and at times I find it hard to stay focused on what the point is. Other times, reading this “journal” is so visual, it is like being next to the main character as she walks through her new challenges.

The Immigrant by GB Amman a four-star read that will make you see stars and stripes. This series is confusing me, but it could be as I haven’t read it in order, this is the first novel in the Woman Scientist novels, but number seven in the Italian Saga, its set up in chunks and each tell a different part of the whole story/saga. Leda is brave, but she is also annoying at times, she is brave as she leaves everything she knows behind for a year, but stupid as she leaves what she loves. This whole saga has a way of sucking you in and making everything grow on you like a moss.

The Immigrant: An Italian In America (Woman Scientist Novel 1, The Italian Saga) by Gaia B. Amman
5-Stars
The Immigrant follows main character Ledah as she begins her latest journey on American soil. This novel can be read as a standalone but many characters mentioned are in other books featured in the Italian Saga series. I love Ledah’s character as she attempts to embrace all the crazy American ways. The way she went about entering the country though and all the hoops she had to go through had me stressed reading it. I couldn’t imagine doing that myself. I admire how independent and intelligent she is. This novel was an excellent read and I highly recommend it.

The Immigrant: An Italian in America (Woman Scientist Novel) is book one in The Italian Saga by Gaia B. Amman. Such a clever author who adds excitement, adventure and edginess to every story written. Reading a story by this author is like a lucky dip. You are never sure of what to expect, but you know it will be a thrill.
The journey continues for Leda. She is bound for America, on a quest for a cure. But as per usual, things change, and Leda is swept up in adventure, competitiveness and the unknown. This story continues from Leda’s childhood, where readers witnessed her grow and tackle each new challenge with sass, enthusiasm and awe. This story was the ultimate escape and one I thoroughly recommend. 4 stars.

I really enjoyed this story! This isn’t the first book that I have read by this author so I knew that I liked her writing style and I was really looking forward to reading it. It didn’t take me long to fall into reading the story and I was carried along easily with Leda and her story. It was really interesting seeing this kind of adventure through her eyes and I really felt like I was there with her at times. I really liked Leda and found her to be a really likeable character, her adventure really was a great one to follow, I loved that it felt so real and almost as if I was reading someone’s diary/journal in parts. A really great story that I thoroughly enjoyed and would absolutely recommend! I look forward to more from Ms Amman again in the future!

Another fab read by Gaia B Amman. I like how the action starts from page one. There is no long, drawn- out scene setting with these novels and we can immerse ourselves fully into them from the start, whether we are familiar with the Italian Adventure series or whether it is our first read from this writer. This story follows Leda on her year out to America. She has left behind her home comforts, her parents and the brooding Sergio in Italy and is joining the staff of a pioneering cancer research laboratory in Buffalo, New York. There she makes new friends and struggles with the language barrier which she hadn’t really anticipated. Having read some of the other novels in the Italian saga, it was nice to have snippets of other characters who I had read about which made it feel more familiar, but for me the skill is in the author’s incredibly descriptive language. I really enjoyed this story. Gaia Amman is not afraid to scatter Italian language in the text which is something I love about her books. As a linguist it is refreshing to me. The dilemmas her characters have is also familiar to me as an immigrant in France many years ago, from the misunderstanding of dialect to the small cultural differences that make her new friends laugh. Another 5-star read for me. Look forward to the next. Grazie, Merci, Thank you!

The Immigrant: An Italian in America ( Woman Scientist Novel 1, The Italian Saga by Gaia Amman. I love these books and this one takes us back to Leda’s growing up years and then follows her on her adventure to American to pursue her Graduate research. Leda is not sure if she did the right thing between missing her boyfriend, her band, her family and finding out all the differences in American and Italy. She is pretty shell shocked. We meet several new characters who try to help her thru her journey in America. Seeing Immigration thru the eyes of an immigrant is very eye opening. How they see American and the things we do is very comical. Will she survive this crazy time, will her relationship survive her being gone? I’ve really enjoyed these books and can’t wait for the next one

The Immigrant: An Italian in America by Gaia B Amman is from the Woman Scientist novel 1, The Italian Saga series. Leda is on her way to the United States for a year of graduate studies to continue on her career path of cancer research. I have enjoyed reading about Leda and her adventures in past books and this was a great continuation of the story. Leda is smart and funny. Her story tells a realistic perspective of uprooting her life to continue on her path. I enjoyed the story and the new characters brought into Leda’s life. I like the relatability of the story and look forward to reading more in Leda’s adventure in the future.

The Immigrant: An italian in America (Woman Scientist novel 1, The Italian Saga) by Gaia B. Amman. The story follows on with Leda going to America to follow her studies for a year. Away from home she misses her boyfriend, but when he comes to stay she sees him in a different light and reevaluates their relationship and what she needs in life. Not only does she need to deal with him but she has to deal with the pressures of her work and colleagues and those who are her they her friends. The story is simply written and shows the struggles of young people and relationships. At first it was a little slow and I didn’t think I could stick it out but it picked up and I continued on and enjoyed it even though I am frustrated with Leda’s relationships.

The Immigrant: An Italian in America (The Italian Saga Book 7) By: Gaia B. Amman 5 out of 5 stars
The story The Immigrant: An Italian in America (The Italian Saga Book 7) by Gaia B. Amman is a wonderful book to read. It pulled me in right from the beginning and didn’t let me go until I had read the final page. It is the next story following the character of Leda Balni. Leda has taken a job in the US. She is leaving everything behind for a year. Leda is a character that I have grown to care about with each book in the series that I have read and I want her to find happiness in her life. I can empathize with her when she first arrives in the US as everything is new to her and she has to adapt to her surroundings. There are characters that are familiar as they have been brought forward from previous stories in the series and then there are new ones that Leda meets. I honestly don’t know how I would cope with living in another country so I admire Leda’s determination. I also love that Leda is so into music and that it is a constant part of her life. What does the future hold for Leda? Will her relationship with her soulmate survive? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. There are times in Leda’s life and situations that she faces that I really felt for her. Don’t miss out on this book. Highly recommended reading.

Amman is a masterful storyteller that draws the reader in immediately with every book she writes. Something in this book rang particularly true. Maybe it is because it seems to speak so clearly and almost relate directly back to personal details about the author. Regardless whether it is meant to parallel or not, I found Leda to be a wonderful character and I was immediately invested in knowing more about her and her journey. Loved it from beginning to end!

The Immigrant: An Italian in America is the seventh book in Gaia B. Amman’s Italian Saga. The saga follows Leda from her childhood through to, in this book, her move to America to do graduate research. Leda is a charming character, and very entertaining to watch growing up. From her perspective, we get a (sometimes brutally) honest observation of the world around her. In this book, what particularly stands out is her bafflement at many aspects of American life and culture (a fair few I can relate to from my visits to the States!). I was amused by the account of the often excessively complicated experience of immigration. With the move, we leave behind the many familiar characters who we’ve seen develop throughout the series. After Leda’s mum and Sergio wave her off at the airport, we are introduced to a host of new characters as we join Leda in making a new start in America. Dr Scrui stands out for me – sometimes seeming intelligent and controlling, at others observant and caring. I’ve not read the series in order, and I think there’s enough background for a reader to join the series at this point if they’re mainly interested in a story focusing on experiences of immigration. But the earlier books are lovely and add depth to the characters. For me, this is a five star book and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series (as well as going back and catching up on the ones I’ve missed!).

I enjoyed this story from start to end. It just might be my favorite yet from this author. It is a story about Leda who decides to travel to America for a year cause as she says, “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for”. She is a great character that brought this story to life for me. She made me chuckle a couple of times. I enjoyed her journey from the airport experience to experiences in America. I highly recommend this book.

Four Stars
Dang! I can’t believe what I just read. I’ve never been in a relationship like Leda and Sergio’s. The minute a man starts acting like Sergio did I was out. But I’ve also only been in love one time. I married my best friend and he broke my heart. It’s been almost three years and no relationship. So I’m more like Leda’s mom in this story. I can understand and feel her grief and depression. I’ve not met a lot of women who have been in abusive relationships. But I have learned from reading their stories that it’s the fear and the brainwashing that makes them stay. Maybe not all cases but some. For years you have some telling you what you can and can’t do. It starts to sound right. The story was so emotional and selfish. By nature we are selfish creatures. But there is something in us that compels us to be kind to others. Sergio was selfish and destructive. His need to fix himself through Leda was damaging them both. I also thought that Leda was selfish when she refused to make more time. You goals and dreams are important but you can’t claim to love someone if your consistently putting them last. They both need to grow and work on who they are and who they want to be. Overall the story was crazy. The highs and lows just had me overwhelmed. Review by @gguerrero89

Happily. Ever After?: An Italian Relationship. (The Italian Saga Book 6) By Gaia B Amman
This was such a wonderfully emotional read. This book is very realistic and had me completely invested in the relationship between Leda and Sergio, and also Leda’s life as a whole. These two are completely opposite but that doesn’t dim the chemistry, it also doesn’t mean they are right for each other either. This story very connectable because it makes you feel all the emotions the characters are going through. There are real life problems that most of us have been through and for me that makes this book more enjoyable. This author does an exceptional job letting the emotions jump off the pages and I highly recommend this book.

Happily. Ever After?: An Italian Relationship. (The Italian Saga Book 6) by Gaia B Amman was an pulling read that will get you in all the feels.
Not my first read from this author or this series, though I met Leda when she was a child, so seeing her all grown up was hell of a time jump for me. Yes, Yes, I did it again, I skipped books in the series.. but hey, if you follow me at all you know that’s my thing. But in all seriousness, this book was not only emotional, it did things to my poor heart, that was weird, confusing, and amazing. Gaia B Amma truly has and remarkable gift when it comes to writing, and getting the reader to not only connect, but feel what her characters are feeling. That alone is enough for me to tell you, to gets this book, this serie, and anything by Gaia B Amma.
As I have said this book is stuff to the gills with raw emotions. Romantic centered, we see the makings, and the ups and downs of a realistic relationship, and the trials that couples go through to try and make it work. Especially when you have two people that are as opposite as you can get… but, the heart wants what it wants.. there’s no rhyme or reason, and this book displays that well. This book is a must read, and I can’t stress enough without spoilers, that you need this book in your life.
So please take my super high recommendation and my golden stamp of approval. that this book, as it did with me, will do things to not only your heart, but your soul.

Happily. Ever After?: An Italian Relationship ( The Italian Saga Book 6) by Gaia B Amman. This is the continuation of the story of Leda and her crazy life. We have been thru several adventures with her over the past 5 books including romances, schooling and crazy parents. She’s had issues with mental illness and her new boyfriend Sergio does as well. Its almost a toxic relationship. Leda is studying Biomedical sciences and has a few quirky friends in that setting. She’s in a band and has those odd friends. Her life is like in 4 parts, Home, school, band and Sergio and Sergio wants her all to himself. Its the classic tale of coming of age problems and being madly in love with someone and thinking you won’t live if they leave you. Will Leda be able to make all facets of her life come together or will she lose Sergio in the process. These books are so fun and adults and young adults alike will enjoy them!

This is the second book that I have read by this author now and I love that I always feel like I am transported to the country or place where her stories are based. I have always wanted to visit Italy and through Ms Amman’s beautifully vivid descriptions I almost feel like I have been. It was a really unique story that definitely made me stop and think a few times. I enjoyed reading about the complexities in human relationships sometimes and how many times opposites definitely attract! The pace of the story was slow and it did take a while to get going but I didn’t really mind that. I felt like I got to know the characters well and it meant I could really enjoy the author’s beautiful writing. I read the first book in this series and this one is the sixth but is easily read as a standalone. I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from her again in the future!

Happily. Ever After?: An Italian Relationship. (The Italian Saga Book 6) by Gaia B. Amman is about loving so much that you are prepared to put up with anything and is one story I have very mixed emotions about because I would never, ever put up with what our main female character did. Having said that though, it is also an adventure of sorts as Gaia vividly gives a look at Italy and the fun banter amongst friends. This is a very emotional read and at times I found the story to be a little slow but picked up closer to the ending. I was often so angry at the main male character and wanted to throw the book and give up but perseverance won out and I finished it and I am glad I did.

Happily. Ever after? By Gaia B Amman a four-star read that may leave you happy? This is the sixth novel in the Italian saga series and I would advise you read them all, I have read them that way and enjoyed them so much more as they set the scene and paint the picture making you grow with the characters and see them as much more than a two dimensional character on a page. I have had a love hate thing with Leda through the series, in some parts I have adored her creativity and adventure and in others I have wanted to shake her. But there are so many other characters that you will adore. This novel is one that not everyone will enjoy as the author does push boundaries and gives is a great many views and creates a world that hopefully you will adore.

Happily Ever After? : An Italian Relationship (The Italian Saga Book 6) By Gaia B Amman
5stars
Happily Ever After? by Gaia B Amman is the 6th book in this series. It continues to follow Leda in her stroll through life. She is an adult in this novel and, just like in previous books in this series, she continues to be my favorite character. She changes so much as the story progresses and I love the affect she has on Sergio. I also love how he affects her. He is her love interest and the dialogue between the two becomes addictive. I really enjoyed this wonderful novel. It was full of love, adventure, and growth.

Ever After?: An Italian Relationship (The Italian Saga Book 6) By Gaia B Amman – Review by Madison Degraffenreid
“Happily. Ever After?” is the sixth book in the Italian Saga by GB Amman. Leda is an intelligent young woman with high academic aspirations. She tries so hard to juggle her interests in life, volleyball, friends, her band, schoolwork and Sergio. As with any driven student, school is her priority and Sergio just doesn’t understand. They love each other, but is it enough? Leda seems to question her relationship with Sergio every step of the way, and my heart ached for the poor girl. She goes through so much in this book, with so many changes and issues that pop up, it’s a wonder how she keeps it all together! I don’t want to give away details, but this book was beautiful in its description of the places Leda goes, but hard to read with what she goes through. However, Leda is resilient and tougher than she seems to some and she proves it in this book! Relationships are messy and “Happily. Ever After?” shows that. Fingers crossed for Leda as I wait for the seventh book! I give “Happily. Ever After?” four stars! Reviewed by @emilybee430

Happily. Ever After?: An Italian Relationship. (The Italian Saga Book 6) By Gaia B. Amman. This story can be read as a stand-alone without any confusion. While the story can be slow it parts it makes up for that in adventure and an emotional journey of the characters. From page one you are drawn into the journey of Leda and Sergio. They are well thought out characters you can connect with. The story is a wonderful adventure of what a relationship can take. It’s well written and the attention to details is fantastic. I’m giving this story a four star review and recommend it.

Ever After?: An Italian Relationship. (The Italian Saga Book 6) By Gaia B. Amman – Review by Katie Kearney
Happily Ever After?: An Italian Relationship is book six in the Italian Saga series by Gaia B. Amman. I read the first book in this series, but have skipped to the sixth one. Oh well, it states that it is a self standing book, so here goes. Slowly paced, this story was a great read, and ticked all the boxes for a quality, easy to read story.
Leda and Sergio like each other. Leda and sergio kissed. Leda and Sergio gives readers an entertaining, honest and full of ups and downs. A very realistic look at young love and all the problems young couples face and how they deal with the drama. These characters were easy to like, easy to relate to, easy to enjoy. Laughter, attraction, love is all set out, pretty and sweet, in the beautiful Italy, where romance is plentiful, and drama is endless. 4 stars.

This relatable tale about relationships and life and love held my interest from page one. Overall I found this installment in the series to be well developed, relatable, witty, and emotional. Amman builds a beautiful world with characters I related to and became deeply invested in. It stands on its own easily and remains a valuable addition to the series. Really enjoyed it.

Ever After?: An Italian Relationship. (The Italian Saga Book 6) by Gaia B. Amman – Review by Heather Lovelace
Happily. Ever After? is the sixth book in Gaia B Amman’s Italian Saga. Leda, the independent and adventurous heroine we’ve watched growing up over the past five books, is now in her early twenties. She’s had her heart broken and broken hearts. She’s struggled with mental illness. And coming through it all, she’s now focused on her course and her hobbies. But she can’t ignore her feelings for Sergio, and his demands on her attention. Leda is great! The books are written from her perspective and Amman does a great job of getting inside her head. She is both mature and naïve, the paradox of young adulthood, and this comes across in her interpretation of situations. She’s clever, and I found myself learning a thing or two about biomedical sciences (Amman’s background really comes through here – I enjoyed the level of detail!). I like the varied LGBT+ representation, particularly with bisexual and polyamorous characters. There’s generally a great cast of characters, building up throughout the books, and it’s good to have some diversity there! The pace sometimes felt a bit odd – chunks of time would fly past and yet we get incredible amounts of detail about things which aren’t necessarily central to the plot – but it sort of feels like we’re focusing on the things that are important to Leda. We have to appreciate what her priorities and occupations are! This is a five star book. A great insight into Italian life (as a teacher, I particularly enjoyed learning about the education system…) and wonderful to see Leda maturing. If you like coming of age stories spread out over a number of years, such as the Adrian Mole books, you’ll enjoy this series!

Ever After? (The Italian Saga Book 6) by Gaia B Amman – Review by Francis O’Sullivan
Happily. Ever After?: An Italian Relationship by Gaia B Amman is the sixth book in The Italian Saga series. Leda’s story continues in this book. This time she is in a relationship with Sergio. The two are opposites. He wants Leda to himself and she is smart and sees a great future for herself. This is a great story about relationships and finding confidence and strength in your voice. I have read one other book in the series and at times I was missing information but overall can be read as a standalone book. The read is quick and very descriptive. I really enjoyed and look forward to catching more by Gaia Amman.

Happily. Ever After?: An Italian Relationship. (The Italian Saga Book 6) By: Gaia B. Amman 5 out of 5 stars
The story Happily. Ever After?: An Italian Relationship. (The Italian Saga Book 6) by Gaia B. Amman is a book that I truly enjoyed reading. It is a story that brings out powerful emotions from the characters and had me not wanting to put the book down until I had finished the last page. It is a book that had my emotions going up and down the entire time that I was reading it. I loved reading about the character of Leda. She is a young woman who is beautiful and smart. She has plans for her future. She also has an undeniable attraction to Sergio. Sergio is a man that is determined that Leda will be his and only his. Like a magnet, these two are drawn towards each other. Read this book to find out their story. This book has parts to it that I found sad and some that had me angry with how characters were treated. There are times when I could feel affection and love, while other times there was conflict. I grew to care about Leda and was always rooting for her to succeed in all that she does. There are other additional characters that you read about. I enjoyed reading about many of them and their interactions with Leda. This is a wonderful story to read and one that I would highly recommend.
