This is my first paranormal story by this author, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. This book pulled me in right from the beginning and kept me engaged until the end. This is a story about a woman who goes on vacation only to find a castel that she needs to find out more about. What she finds is Nathaniel and a strong connection to him. Great chemistry together and they are hot, steamy together. I highly recommend reading this book to find out Chloe and Nathaniel’s story.
Embattled Hearts (Lost and Found #1) by J.M. Madden was an steady, entertaining, military romance with a dash of mystery, that had my hooked.
My first read by this author, I didn’t know what to expect. The synops was intriguing, and the reviews positive, but military books aren’t normally my type of read, only because I am a serving member, and well, I don’t think I need to tell you why I tend to not go for these type of books. Picky isn’t the word.
Anyways, I have to say I was impressed with the research, and the knowing the little ins and outs of how the service world works. Though I am Canadian, the inner workings of most militaries are the same, especially when it comes to the way we interact with one another. I saw that, and that alone kept me reading.
As for our MC’s, I liked Jack right away. I believe that had to do with the dual POV. We get to see inside his pain, and know why he’s apprehensive, especially towards Shannon. Speaking of Shannon, there was just something about her that irked me just a little. I think, it had to do with how she was portrayed, small, needing to be protected, motherly, too freaking kind, and innocent. It was a little mary sueish, and very typical for these types of books when the leav male MC is a alpha male type. I’m not saying I didn’t like her as a character, it was just, she was too perfect, and I found it hard to connect with her.
Overall I did very much enjoy this read, the way the romance was developed was layered, and it wasn’t a insta-love situation, this is two people crushing and already knowing one another, but not knowing how to express it. I liked that build up, it added that needed layer, that almost made up for Shannon’s lack of character depth. The added mystery of whos stalking her was a nice bonus, and it gave them that chance to finally get passed the BS.
I hope you take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will not only find something to love about this book, but you will be drawn in by its life like surroundings, its deep solid plot and, its interesting characters.

Elegantly Denim (An Elegant Series Prelude) by Tee Smith 4 Stars
This is the first book that I have read from this author. It is a short novella, a prelude to the Elegant Series. This story gives us a deeper understanding of the heart and mind of Denim Gargliano. He is making his way through his father’s empire of drugs, violence and power, slowly taking over. Deep down, he truly is a good guy. He wants to help everyone. He has to learn who to trust and know that everyone has a price. Even though the book was short, I think it did a good job of laying the foundation for the rest of the series. The introduction of Lili at the end of the book was a smart move on the author’s part. She has piqued my curiosity to found out who she is and what she will become to Denim. Looking forward to reading the rest of the instalments.

Embattled Hearts (Military Romantic Suspense) (Lost and Found Book 1) by J.M. Madden had me hooked with the characters and the storyline. It is a very emotional read and heartbreaking but it would not be the great story that it is without the background information on these wounded warriors. You can feel the pain and suffering these characters have been through.
Johns’ devastating injury whilst in Iraq has left him wheelchair bound and rude and bitter, angry and grumpy and a bit anti social, as he no longer feels whole, like a real man and definitely no one anyone could love. It certainly hasn’t been a problem until now, now when a certain sassy and takes no prisoners, sexy goddess has entered his life. But when she is threatened nothing and no one can keep him away but will his own insecurities keep them apart.
I am loving this first book and have a thirst for more.

An Agreement is the third book in Lindsay Marie Millers’ Summer in New York series. I have read the first two books in the series and also some other books by her so every time I come across another one of her books, I go for it! I love her way of telling the stories and it feels as if they get better and better with each new book I read. An Agreement is the story of Bailey and Carter. I loved the sweet slow boiling romance where we did not have crazy ups and downs, not at least the way some of the writers like to send us through a wringer … I loved Baily, the sweet and likable Bailey who had her demons she had to fight … and Carter, who did not think he was good enough for Bailey and had his own baggage to deal with … I loved how they were working through their baggage and how they grew closer and closer and I kept keeping my fingers crossed for a happy ending … it is always great to experience with the characters the light they reach after a long stay in the darkness … I hope that the writer will keep sharing with us more stories of Summer in New York … she did introduce a number of great potential characters here…

Jesse is the third book in Desiree Lafawn’s Glass City Hearts series. I have not read the first two books but I had read The Permanence of Pain so I thought I knew what to expect but it was a bit different. I loved The Permanence of Pain and loved meeting Beck again and I loved Jesse even more … in some ways it was not as dark as my first encounter with the writer though it had sufficient human suffering and weakness and evil … So, Jesse is the story of Jessie “Jesse” Belton and Harlow Jones and Harlow’s little four year old son JJ (Jesse Jones). They meet when JJ pees on Jesse’s shirt and this is, my friends, how a beautiful love story begins! Jesse came back from LA where he was on the verge of starting his career at a fancy bakery he had worked his life for … he came back after his mom died and his functioning alcoholic father lost his handle on his life, handle he never really had had … Harlow is a single mother who never knew her father, who was completely alone in the world except for her son … This story tells the story of families, a story of how we define a family … it is a story of dreams and how the dreams change … it is filled with laughter and love and fear and determination and … and I want to know Gabe and Angel and Dino and Jeanette’s stories as well so I will go back and read books 1 and 2 AND I hope that Desiree will give us more of the Glass City Hearts’ stories!

Degrees of Acceptance is the perfect title for this story as Kate learns to accept Chases lifestyle and move forward with their relationship. This story follows book one perfectly and has new characters introduced that you didn’t know if you would ever get to meet them. With drama happening constantly and a few new threats coming out will Kate and Chase ever have a moment to just relax and get to know each other.

An Agreement is the third book in the Summer in New York series. It can be read as a standalone.
An Agreement is an emotional story and I found myself tearing up several times. The romance part of it is not graphic in nature and it seemed to me that the focus was on the challenging parts of relationships. I think that is what made the story more real. An Agreement really puts emphasis on the way that the things we’ve experienced in our life can influence the way we interpret and respond to different aspects of relationships. Even though the synopsis of the book clearly states a HEA, there are several times when reading the story that you still wonder if they will make it.
This book was an easy read and I finished in one day. One suggestion I would make is not to read it in public if you are sensitive, because you might cry. Try explaining that to the people sitting around you in the coffee shop, lol. I almost had to. Also, this book does deal with some sensitive subject matter, although not in explicit detail.

Thievery and romantic suspense? It warms me to the bottom of my greedy, sappy heart. Our leading lady, Tru (who reminded me a bit of Pru from Charmed) has one last job to do before she is out of the thieves life for good, so of course the only thing that could throw a wrench in her perfectly laid plans happens. The ‘Summer in New York’ series just keeps getting better and better! I have been reading Lindsay Marie Miller’s work for a while now, but if you haven’t you could easily pick up any of these and read them as standalone novels. I would just recommend reading them all because they are equally great so why not? I do have to say this installment wasn’t my absolute favorite of the series so far though, so that is why I marked at four stars. Just a personal thing. I didn’t connect as much to the MC’s and found myself struggling to get into the storyline a bit till the latter half of the novel. Otherwise the story was gripping and adorable. The perfect afternoon read!
“An Agreement” brings us the story of Bailey and Carter. A sweet and perfect friends to lover’s story. Bailey is successful at running her own clothing boutique. She is also pretty good at designing them too when she gets a chance. Clothes that is what she is good at. Not men. She wants to be though. She looks to Carter to help her with that and an ‘agreement’ is made to show her all the ways of the man. But what happens when Mr. Right is right in front of you? Even if it is just your “friend?”

A great read about aliens. An alien race called the E’mani have caused devastation to Earth and captured its people. Among them is Elizabeth, a prisoner on board their ship. The E’mani are cruel and heartless, torturing her endlessly. When she develops magic, she escapes to seek answers, but can you escape the E’mani? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Elizabeth fighting to stay alive but a kind side underneath. Great villain that will send shivers up your spine. Loved the contrasts between everyday college life and alien spaceships blend of realism and fantasy which was beautifully written. I also loved visual detail throughout the novel like with the claustrophobic sense of the spaceships and corridors and labs which was great for a sense of fear. Fast paced action and high stakes made for a captivating read. Overallt read and I would give it five stars.

The Killmores by Martha Sweeney is the second part of this story. In order to fully understand the story they should be read in order. As with the first book this one is fast paced and intense. I found myself constantly on the edge of my seat. I knew it was only a matter of time before everything caught up with Laurie, and although I was clearly rooting for a happy outcome, I also couldn’t wait to see what would happen when it did. This book is full of twists and turns. The author knows how to grab your attention and she definitely knows how to not let go once she has it. This was a brilliant follow up to book one. I can highly recommend this series.
Jesse (Glass City Hearts Book 3) By Desiree Lafawn 5 Stars
Jesse is the third book in the Glass City Hearts series by Desiree Lafawn. I am not sure how Ms. Lafawn manages to outdo the last book but she definitely did it with Jesse. I will admit that he is AWESOME and the hotness and sultry vibe still roles on in book 3.
Jesse had different plans for his life but with family and loyalty being what he was taught growing up he finds that it’s not something he can ignore. So life finds him tending bar and giving up on his dreams.
Harlow Jones is not your usual girl. With a knack for fixing anything mechanical and a whiz at the computer, she knows she’s different. To better her life and that of her son Harlow just needs to land this job at Glass City. What she wasn’t expecting were the complications that come with meeting Jesse.
Ms. Lafawn has captured my interest with the unique flow of her writing. From the bevy of old characters that we get to re-visit to finally being able to have the ending to Jesse’s story the reader is taken for an emotional ride that will have you laughing (and maybe wanting to relocate to a new living area) and crying as these two characters learn about themselves and each other. This book is extremely well written and will keep you entertained from the first page to the last. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series!

Degrees of Acceptance is the second book in the Prestian Series. With that in mind, I would highly recommend reading Degrees of Innocence the Book 1. I enjoy Via Mari’s writing style. She is very detail oriented. I can imagine I am right next to the characters in the book. The journey with Katarina and Chase is an interesting journey. I must admit that I am not into erotica and at times I had to skip over a couple of paragraphs, but I still enjoyed the story. I cannot wait to read the next installment of this series.

Forgetting Ophelia is a beautifully written story that I thoroughly enjoyed. I haven’t read anything by this author previously but I really enjoyed her engaging and relaxed writing style. I really liked Lia; I connected with her straight away and felt for her as she tried to adjust to the unexpected changed in her life. I admired her strength as she began to rebuild her life. I think I kind of wanted to hate Jake for his cowardly ways and the way he treated Lia but as the story progressed I understood him a little better even if I didn’t agree with the things that he did. The author did a great job with the emotional side of this story and I could feel what the characters were feeling. She made them realistic and likeable. Overall I thought that this was a wonderful story, one that I would highly recommend! I look forward to reading more from this author again in the future.
Born to Fight is the first instalment of the dystopian-romance series, Can’t Resist You. It follows Hunter and Rain, who are thrown together after a deadly attack on Hunter’s life. There is instant chemistry between these two and that is what makes this book so addictive. If you’re a fan of dystopian reads, this is definitely one for you.
We meet Hunter in the midst of him saving a woman from an attack by UNR soldiers. So basically, Hunter is a hero. Cue swoon. Then we learn he’s part of the resistance. Cue bigger swoon. A strong, rebel? Sign me up for one! Hunter is an instantly memorable character who I was immediately drawn to and hooked on. I had so many questions about how he got to where he was, I couldn’t read fast enough to get to the flashbacks about his past with this father and the rest of the resistance. While he is technically the ‘enemy’, he most definitely the hero of this read. I love reads like this, but mostly when we see things from the side of those rebelling against the state. This makes for a much more interesting read and, let’s be honest, all of us have a little rebel in us. And that is why I loved Rain so much. Not only is she a strong, independent woman (yes!), she also knows what she wants. When it is thrown right in front her in the form on Hunter, she panics, like all of us would! I loved seeing their relationship develop of the course of the story, both physically and emotionally.
This book is full of suspense. While there is the fear of the UNR at every corner, the biggest stressor for me was waiting for Rain to find out the truth about Hunter. I actually found myself reading super fast to reach that moment, as I just couldn’t handle the stress! No spoilers here, but prepare yourself for some serious action!
I really enjoyed Born to Fight and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series. It falls perfectly into the dystopian-romance genre, one which so many people love. Add this to your to-read list and it will not disappoint!

Say When is the ninth book in Bree Kraemer’s fantastic Cedarville series! I have read the whole series as I fell in love with it from book one! I love the small town set up and how a group of friends keeps growing and embraces newcomers and every time I finish a story I wish I could move there! Say When is the story of Danielle “Dani” and “Pat” Patrick. We met Dani in Wes and Julia’s book, she is that shy baker who created those amazing desserts. We also met Patrick who was hired by Wes as a chef to work in his Dockside restaurant. Dani and Patrick go back long way – Patrick’s sister was one of Dani’s best friends and she had such a crush on Patrick when she was thirteen …. Patrick has some work he needs to do to get Dani out of her shell! “No more barely living. No more fear.” These two take us on a sweet ride! I like how Bree gives us those sweet stories where we are not overwhelmed by angst and actually drowns us in romance! And do not forget about the good laugh we get as well! I hope that the writer is not yet done with this charming small town with all those great people and we will get some more Cedarville stories!

The third installment in the Fatal Dreams series, Never Let Me Fall, by Abbie Roads continues with its romantic suspense theme. Abbie Roads is highly talented in how she writes these stories. In Never Let Me Fall, the story immediately opens into a scene that makes you hold your breath! Oh my goodness, this book seriously had me on the edge of my seat quickly reading to see what was to happen next! Talk about a page turner!! I felt that the characters were each perfectly flawed. Helena’s past is not an easy one, yet the author handled it with flare without it feeling too weak or overly done. Thomas is enticing, the reader is drawn to him, to his personality and how he interacts. Combining these two characters together was climatic and how they juggle and combat against forces was well played. This story holds its own within the series, but I liked the touch of how there are small, minuscule pieces that overflow from the other books in the series.

I have found a new must read author with this book and I cannot Wait to dive into the rest of this series. I was hooked from the first word to the last. Shay and Matt had a summer love so strong that years after she left, they still held onto their feelings for each other. The chemistry between these two was hot, but they also had a deep connection to one another. I really loved this story and I cant wait to read the rest of this series as the secondary characters caught my attention in this book as well. This is a must read!

Janice M. Whiteaker’s Ring Tru is the first book of the Thick as Thieves series. This romantic suspense is fascinatingly written. Tru and Will are the primary/lead characters in this tale and they distinctly stand out, as they should. I liked Tru’s whit and fire that was well established and shown through. Adding in Will’s protectiveness and drive, this made a story rife with twists/turns as these two battle out their feelings/connection and try to complete their end game(s). The tug and pull between them was intriguing to read. The hints of their best friends as supporting characters in the story added perfectly to the allure of this story as it unfolded. This was a great beginning to the series and has definitely whetted my appetite and created a desire to see what’s next!

This is the story of Matt (Hayes) and Shay. They were high school loves and after a few events they didn’t see each other for a long time. “Not everything from your past is meant to stay with you” – this is the story of their moving on from the past.
This is book one of a series and I thought it would be a bit more world building than it was. The writing is very detailed and I found myself skimming at times.
They were certain things that bugged me but not enough to down grade my rating. I did find myself highlighting quite a few passages because at times the writing is almost poetic.
Overall this was a quick and enjoyable read and o have put the other stories in the series on my TBR list.

Jesse by Desiree LaFawn is the third book in her Glass City Hearts series, and while I have loved each of this series books this is honestly my favorite to date. Jesse has got it all – romance, suspense, drama and tugging at my heart strings. Following the stories of Jesse and Harlow you get to see just how much these two are willing to sacrifice for family. For Jesse his family is everything. Growing up with a father who drilled it into you that Family is more important than everything else, he knew that at a drop of a hat he would give up his life for his blood. Jesse has always wanted to own a bakery, but he puts his dreams on hold to take care of his father’s bar. He was always fine just working away for the family business, until her. Meeting Harlow, his whole perspective on family changes. This woman calls to him in a way that he never expected, and that pull is enough to make he do anything to keep her in his life. Can Jesse take his dreams and make them work with Harlow? Or will he need to forge his own path away from family before he can commit to a ready-made family with Harlow and her son? Harlow is a woman that just can’t see to get this being a female thing right. Other than having her son just over five years ago, she is more of a tom boy than ever. Having read all of the Glass City Hearts series prior to this, I had very high expectations for this book, and LaFawn did not let me down one bit. I highly recommend reading these books in order, even though each book can be read as a stand-alone story. I can’t wait to see where she takes this series in the future because from where I am at, I can only see it continuing to get better and better!

This is the third story in the Glass City series. The story focuses on Jesse and Harlow. They were a great couple to read about. Jesse tries to help out and is incredibly sweet. Harlow is strong, determined female character. Harlow’s little boy sound so sweet, a bit rotten, and a whole lot of funny. I really enjoyed reading this story, and loved seeing other characters from this series in this story.
The Confectioner’s Guild (The Confectioner Chronicles Book 1) By Claire Luana
The Confectioner’s Guild by Claire Luana is the first book in the Confectioner Chronicles series. I have to say I loved the prequel and this book is written just as well. The writing style of this author is quite enjoyable. The series is aimed at the YA readers but can be enjoyed by us adults as well. The author has made the characters in this book quite enjoyable and its was a pleasure to have read this book and I do look forward for more instalments. In this book we have mystery, magic and cooking. Not your normal mixture in a book but it works well. So, grab yourself a copy of the book and have an enjoyable time in getting to know not only the characters but the authors wonderful way of telling a story.

Cowboy: Claimed By Melissa Keir, Cheryl Gorman, Leslie P. Garcia, Becca Turner, Lyssa Layne. This is a great collection of stories that had me itching for more when I was finished. Each of these authors knows the way to a girl’s heart! Each story was written and paced nicely. This collection is filled to the brim with wonderful characters and emotions you feel in your soul. I’m a fan of collections like these because it’s a great way to be introduced to new authors and I’ll definitely be checking out these authors for more books. If you’re looking for some great reads that involve oh so yummy cowboys look no further, this is the set for you. I honestly can’t pick a favorite because each one is amazing in its own right. I’m giving this collection a five star review and highly recommend it to everyone.

Desiree Lafawn has done it again with a great addition to the Glass City Hearts Series. Jesse is book three in the series and all about Jesse. If you read the previous two stories (which I hope you did) you remember Jesse from when Angel was kidnapped. This story hit a few spots with me it’s main focus in on Harlow who’s a struggling single mom with a crappy past. Jesse is about struggles, moving forward and new beginnings. As you read the story you know something is going to happen you just aren’t sure in what way and then it does and you feel relieved that it finally happened and you can relax. There’s a slow steady build up, then the climax, and a nice clean ending. The previous characters are in the story and play significant roles especially Dino with his big bad self.
