When I read the prologue for this book I thought I had already read it. There was something so familiar about it and then I realized that this is based on the daughter from “Our Next Chapter”. I was so happy.
This is a quick and delightful story. It moves fast so pay attention or you might miss some the romance. This is a book that has no angst, lots of goodness and a few tears.
There is not one bad thing I can say about this story and I don’t want to give anything away so I’m just going to advise you to read “Our Next Chapter” before “Out Unexpected Hope” you will love them both.
The Plot by Melinda De Ross is a suspenseful and haunting tale. I was hesitant buying this book, due to its content, but I’m so glad that I did. Yoko’s story was an incredibly harrowing tale to read, that took me on a roller coaster of emotions. Don’t let the romance fool you, this is a tale of suspense, mystery, drama, intrigue, and revenge. Yoko was abducted from Japan and falls prey to a human trafficking organisation that forces her to give up her innocence to the highest buyer. After escaping her world of nightmares, Yoko swears revenge on the man that ruined her life, and the life of many other young girls. On Yoko’s journey of revenge, she meets Mark, and things couldn’t be more difficult for Yoko as she grapples with the horrors of her past. This book was extremely emotional, and made my sick in the pit of my stomach. The way De Ross described the horrors that Yoko and the other girls went through was harrowing. I was so emotional and devastated whilst reading this. To know that these stories aren’t just fiction, and that human trafficking is still a prevailing issue in our society. I really loved this book for the way it made me think, and absorb the story it was telling. I highly recommend it, to anyone that wants to read a challenging story, that isn’t your classic romance. 4/5 stars

Yoko is a very intriguing strong willed character you can’t get enough of. She has a plan to take down the people who stole her youth and innocence. She doesn’t plan to fall in love, especially with her past. This book has suspense that will keep you at the edge of your seat. The story of this book is so powerful and so passionate. I wanted to hear more about Yoko story the beginning and even what happens after this book. She is a character you will love and just want to be friends with and help her through all her struggles. The author has a great writing style that is so beautiful. I can’t wait to read more or even just to read this again.

The Plot by Melinda De Ross is a pretty unconventional romance. Some of the subject matter may be difficult for some readers. This book was a very emotional book. In the beginning of the book it was easy to keep some distance especially due to the topic. Once the story moved in favor of the heroine you could feel the whole story shift.
Yoko and her best friend finish high school and come to America with the hopes they can get good jobs and send money back home to their families in Japan. She didn’t expect that she would fall victim to human trafficking. The girls manage to get free but Yoko feels like she needs revenge. While Yoko is working out her plan, she meets Mark who offers her a good job and it seems a little too good to be true. Can Yoko let herself trust Mark and believe the good things he is offering?
I was glad the beginning of the book glossed over a little bit the harrowing experience Yoko had. The book was suspenseful though knowing Yoko wanted revenge for herself and other girls like her. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how she would go about her revenge. I had hope for Yoko and Mark. She had a horrible past but he felt for her just the same and I really hoped they’d both be able to work passed it all.
I enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it.

Another action filled adventure in the Code Raven series. This is book six and this time the Raven Group is trying to save the world from a sex trafficking ring. Between China, Kyrgyzstan, London and the United States, we travel the world again. With the help of Himanesh, they locate the whereabouts of the missing children. It’s personal once again when two of the children were kidnapped from Luke’s personal hideaway in the Maldives. It is a fast paced book that will have you racing towards the end. I was happy to see Luke and Luci trying to take a vacation even though it got cut short. It would be nice to see them open their hearts and jump into a relationship.
Our Unexpected Hope is a hugely entertaining novel by Michelle Sullivan that kept me riveted for hours. It was highly emotional and I don’t know a couple that managed to adapt to the life changing situations the way they did with the many struggles they had to endure.
Quinn meets Noah and that is the end of it. There is no one else for her. Him either. It was love at first sight. Their journey was a whirlwind and their lives were chaos and bedlam, but one thing remained steady, strong and unbreakable. Their bone deep love for each other. A love like theirs, burning with intensity and endlessness, is enviable and rare.
Michelle Sullivan wrote a beautifully created tale of never ending love. A love that withstands every test thrown at them, amd comes out the other side stronger and deeper that ever before. 5 stars
Eternal Bloom by A E Gamrat is the second book in Gwen’s story and the relationship she is wading through with her mother.
Gwen’s relationship with her mother has been quite torn in the previous book and this book shines a light into how broken it was and what happens when something happens which rocks that connection and how Gwen will deal with that situation with her mom being ill.
Also Gwen is not sure about the relationship with Kame, they have a connection but there are secrets in his history, but also his communication is not the best and will put a strain on the relationship. Will Gwen be able to deal with all the relevant issues in her life?
The story like the first one is well written, with some thought provoking subjects which are brought up. The story concentrates a lot around the in thoughts of Gwen and although this is a great prospective to be in sometimes I think the story was stunted and took a while to get going again. I loved the strength that Gwen had although at times she felt she lack the courage and strength to deal with the issues.
I would recommend these two books as a great coming of age story.
New Bloom by A.E Gamrat is a great young adult story, this story brings the elements of life and no matter how hard you try to plan your life you will always be surprised how you eventually end up.
The story revolves around Gwen and her life after graduating from College, she has always followed the rules and her mother’s wishes which has left her little time to truly enjoy her life to the full. She has had her life planned out but has never really enjoyed experiences as she has always been focused on the end goal.
So when she starts living life she becomes confused and uncomfortable to the point that she feels she is losing control and sight of her goals which throws her into turmoil.
I enjoyed the style of writing and the fast pace nature of the story, I felt that it took a while to get into the book at the beginning but once I started to get invested into the story it was brilliant. I loved the two characters and the contrast between them, Gwen being very naive and sheltered to Kame blowing her world and throwing into a whirlwind of what she believed she was destined for.

This is such a great read! I really like magic related books and this certainly filled the bill. I was drawn into the book from the get go. The author has such a refreshing writing style that I didn’t want to put the book down.
I was really drawn to Caitlin’s character. I like the fact that she was sort of a rebel but really deep down she was the good girl her aunt knew she was. I like how she needed to believe in the magic for it to work. I am a crazy cat lady so I really loved how the cats were more than just familiar. I also found that the relationship between Caitlin and her aunt is quite special. I really found this to be a really nice change of pace. There was just enough drama included as well. I found it really interesting that the magical realms were created by writers and more over that their books were the worlds histories. I like the fact that the author focused on Caitlin being her aunt muse and that unbeknownst to her she also helped to create part of the magic realms. The villain being her creation.I really found this book to be a great read and I really look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Redemption by Meghan O’Flynn is the fifth book in her Ash Park Series and I just can’t say enough good things about this one. Each book grips you from page one and takes you in and out of dark places showing you a different terror and characters that willingly walk into that darkness. I can’t say enough good things about O’Flynn and this series, picking book one up was a whim, but I haven’t been able to look the other way since. O’Flynn spins a story so well that it draws you in and leaves you breathless before you realize there was an issue. This book takes place roughly 6 months after book 4, so while each book is written in a way that it could be read as a stand-alone, I totally recommend reading them all in order, so the characters and stories all make the most sense. The brilliant twists, surprises, and tension that unfolded with each of the installments in the Ask Park Series kept me glued to the pages and clamoring to find out what happens next. In Redemption, we are taken full circle, going back to where the journey with these characters all began and getting to see the storyline from a completely different perspective. Getting this back story on the characters, as well as motivations for why they did what they did made this a very interesting take on this series. This book really tied the entire series together making it an even better reading experience. Detective Petrosky is definitely the star of this book, and while he is very much a broken man, he is going to be pushed to a new limit with this complex investigation that is going to bring the ghosts of past back into play. This investigation really took me for a ride, keeping me on the edge of my seat afraid to turn the lights off. If you are looking for a fantastic read that is guaranteed to keep you coming back for more than this is the book, nay series, for you. I can’t wait to see where this series goes from here, or any other books in O’Flynn’s collection because I just need to get my hands on more of her writing.

The Plot written by Melinda De Ross. This is a modern day Geisha story. The storyline was good it had a nice build up and the characters were well thought out. Yoko is the main character and she’s been through a lot, her story is one that has a lot of sadness in it along with the endurance and strength to make her situation better, knowing how to survive until she had the chance to gain her freedom. As she moves on with her life she faces new struggles and The Plot is how she moves forward in her life and also seeks revenge on those who hurt her and will continue to hurt others in the same way.

Credence Woods by Alexandria Sure is a great read- a contemporary romance with angst, emotion, and drama. It’s a sweet, tender, heart-warming story that was true to life, realistic, and relatable. Kennedy Hewson lives her life on fast-forward. A successful property sales executive whose life revolves around her work. She’s so focused on her career, she has little time for anything else, let alone a relationship. She’s worked incredibly hard to get to where she is and has the penthouse, clothing, shoes, and lifestyle to prove it. But she has a lot of scars, and not just physical ones, but also of her mind. Even with everything she’s accomplished, and how far she’s come- Kennedy is still stuck in the past and unable to move forward, no matter the ‘put-together’, confident image she presents to the world. She’s chronically insecure about her appearance and can’t escape the distorted image of herself that she has in her mind. Even after the weight loss surgery and workout regime that changed her life- she’s still stuck in her head- wanting and needing to leave her former ‘life’ behind, but unsure how to accomplish that. While on a business trip to Tennessee she has a car accident that wrecks her car, and results in Kennedy being rescued by a handsome local. He takes her back to his place to recover- turning her ‘scheduled’, compartmentalized, and organised life into chaos, right along with her heart. Who is the handsome stranger you ask? What makes him perfect for Kennedy? Will the sparks between them ignite, or fizzle out? What happens when the job in Tennessee finishes up and she has to go back to Chicago- will it bring their budding relationship to an abrupt end? Will Kennedy ever be able to leave her past behind her and move forward and embrace her ‘new’ life? Your really should read this book to find out how it all plays out. This was a lovely story. There was a lot of inner dialogue from Kennedy that really makes the reader aware of just how insecure she really is- her thought processes are quite negative and self depreciating. She frustrated me so much with how hard she was on herself and how unattractive she felt- when in reality, she was anything but. It all just made her all the more realistic and endearing. Max was just so perfect for her in every way… swoon. I will let you read all his scrumptious details for yourself- there’s nothing like a mysterious, sexy man to gain my attention! There were a few minor issues that annoyed me just a little. Sorry, Ms. Sure…… The story seemed a little awkward leading into very ‘closed door’ sex scene/s- I felt that Kennedy was so honest and intimate with us in sharing all her body image issues and vulnerabilities- but then we get closed out when she’s being sexually intimate? It wasn’t that big of a deal, just a minor issue for me personally, which didn’t detract from the overall story, just made me question why. I also thought the drama that was added towards the end wasn’t really warranted, it felt like adding drama just for the sake of it. But I respect that I am NOT the author, and this is Ms. Sure’s story to tell however she wants. Just sharing my though process that’s all. I would also have liked to hear from Max, get his point of view and how he thought about things- as the story is told entirely from Kennedy’s point of view. I feel like we missed out from hearing what he had to say and learning more about him. The characters are so well crafted, fully developed individuals who really added to the overall storyline. I absolutely love Hank, he is such a wonderful guy, a great asset and friend to Kennedy. I also loved Cora, she was a wonderful addition to the story. All their friends were great too- loyal, supportive and fun. The story is a wonderfully romantic- with opposites attracting, overcoming obstacles, releasing body image issues, learning to love yourself, new beginnings, learning to ‘live’ again and embracing life elements that made this story hard to put down. Looking forward to more from Ms. Sure.

The Nearness of You is a wonderful heart-warming romance by KG Fletcher. This is another book that is going to grab you before the first chapter is done. What I liked about this book was how much detail the author has put into the book, with how its written you end up feeling that you actually know the characters, and you can certainly read it as a standalone. This story centres around the budding romance of David and Lauren. Lauren a budding singer meets hot David a model when he is at one of her shows. They have an instant connection, but David’s assistant is in the way and Lauren feels she has to prove to the assistant that she does in fact love David. David for his part just wants to have Lauren around and he can’t explain why it’s just the way he feels. So, if you want a book that’s going to warm the cockles of your heart this is the book for you.

This novel was a very emotional story covering a very sensitive and controversial subject human trafficking and prostitution the author wrote it in a way the it really grips you and gives you a better understanding of this sensitive horrific issue. I can honestly say i read this novel in one sitting i just couldn’t pull my eyes away i found it so touching and emotional it’s a beautiful sensitive touching story one i highly recommend reading outstanding read!

5 Star Siren Call ( Eastern Shore Swingers Book 3) by Phoebe Alexander is the third book in her Eastern Shore Swingers Series. Although this series can be read as standalone I do recommend reading the other books in this series as well. I love this series. Get ready to be taken on a emotional rollercoaster ride.I love this author’s style of writing and her ability to draw you in from the beginning and keep your attention till the end. Her characters are very connectable and I love them all. I had a hard time putting this down once I started reading. This is Jessie and Sirena’s story.Jessie has wanted to be a cop for a long time.She loves helping people. Sirena has a past with secrets and the club is her escape. Can these two trust each other? I highly recommend reading this book especially if you want to know what happens. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

The Nearness of You by KG Fletcher is a standalone contemporary romance that will pull you in from page one and not let go until well passed the last. Following the story of Lauren Rose and David Randall. Lauren is such a strong character, her independence and ability to overcome adversity really draws you in. When singing at her regular gig in the St. Regis Hotel, she gets to see allot of high-profile guests, but none really caught her eye until she was courted by a British supermodel after her late show. While Randall and Rose come from two completely different worlds, this seems to draw them together. While things heat up behind doors, an attraction that they can’t deny builds around them. The more time they spend together, the end of their romance seems harder to believe. When life intrudes with David’s assistant, Lauren will have to find a way to work to show this woman that she loves David for more than his work. Will this woman be the reason these two love birds can’t find happiness? Can David rise above those around him to go for the girl that stole his heart with her voice? Fletcher made this story such a great read, pulling her readers in from the get go and creating an overall amazing experience. If you are looking for an author that will sweep you away with her writing than KG Fletcher is one that you need to pick this story up. I can’t wait to see where KG Fletcher takes us next.

I enjoyed the “Southern Promises” series written by this author so I was looking forward to getting comfortable and opening this book.
This is a book that fulfills many girls dreams. The “what if I meet that famous person, would I be able to handle myself? Be true to myself?” This story explores that theme.
The main character is a strong woman who, while not ashamed of her situation, doesn’t downplay it or use it to her advantage when talking to someone of means. She holds true to her values and doesn’t mold herself to what she thinks she should be. A nice change of pace was how nice the lead male is. Sure he’s got a great accent, is smoking hot, has a good head on his shoulders – he’s also kind and nice. They have a meet cute and the story goes on from there.
The characters are quickly developed and have all the earmarks of a classic tale. The story flows well from beginning to end and I was able to stay totally comfortable while reading this quick tale.

MOUSE TRAPPED is the 9th book in The Satan’s Devil MC Series. I’ve only read a few of the others and was able to settle right into this book, so it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone.
I would like to review this book from a slightly different perspective. Sure it’s a story involving a motorcycle club, a computer geek and a woman who needs help. That stuff is pretty standard in MC books. What’s unique about this book is the WAY it’s told. It is not the cookie cutter “pretty white girl meets hot alpha white male and everyone lives happily ever after”. This is a story that takes a look at the overlooked in “romance” books (gosh I’m using a lot of italics tonight). This story talks about immigration rights and multi-racial stereotypes and discrimination. It shows us how not everything is as we want it to be or we think it to be. It took a non-partisan look at how the US really is – and that’s a scary place to some. This is a book that makes me think about others besides myself. Opens my eyes to topics that I am currently being distracted from by the use of ridiculous tweets. This is still a real problem and it reminded me that I have pay better attention to what else is going on around me.
Having said all of the above, MOUSE TRAPPED is also a story that allowed me escape into a book. It is a well written story that gives us a glimpse at characters we’ve read in other stories in this series and gives us a deeper look at Mouse (it’s about time he got his story told) and what it’s like to not fit in ANYWHERE. The story flows well from beginning to end and I would recommend it. Also the cover model is HOT, so there’s that 😉

Have you ever just felt like you knew that someone was your forever but everything kept pointing the other way? That no matter how you feel that path wasn’t laid out for you to follow? I felt that while reading this story. I also felt it multiple times in my life. David felt phony to me and I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Their whole first encounter felt planned. He dies have some redeeming qualities that make up for that first impression. He is HOT, loyal, loving, compassionate and honest. I felt like he would do absolutely do anything for Lauren. The author wrote an interesting story but it lacked a steady flow. I felt like it was a little bumpy while transitioning from one speaker to the next. I didn’t feel like I truly learned who the characters are and how they grew through the story. It was a very unrealistic story. Overall though I would read it because David is HOT and what they have is innocent and pure.

The Nearness of You is a novel by K.G. Fletcher. This is my second novel by this author.
A chance encounter makes way for possible love and opportunities.
When Lounge Singer Lauren meets Super model David Randle she is drawn to his good looks. David invites Lauren to his sister’s wedding but there is a spark between the two. Bonding over music, fashion and life experiences which bring them closer together.
But not all in happy for the new couple but David’s assistant wants nothing more than to tear the new found love apart.
I really enjoyed this novel and the cover and premise just pulled me in.
I enjoyed Lauren’s ambitions to make it into show business one day but it was nice to see that she was comfortable where her life was. Lauren was really likable and related character and her romance with David felt natural instead of forced.
I really like David. He was such a sweet character. With all the ups and downs the couple went through, it was sweet roller coaster of me eagerly turning the pages to see what would happen next.
For anyone in the mood for a quick but enjoyable romance, I recommend this novel.

My Hidden Life written by Necie Navone and I was awesome I loved the characters especially Alessandra aka Aless she was one fantastic teenager with the world on her shoulders. The characters are well written and their quirkiness and banter was great. The plot is great it has danger, intimidation, fights, and a very protective family. Alessandra, is the Princess of the Canzano crime Family, she was introduced to the dangers of her family’s world at the young age of six when a rival family left her bleeding and scared on her birthday. Her uncle now dedicates his life to making sure she is not only protected but that Alessandra will never feel helpless again in their world. All the while, trying to keep her feeling like she is just a normal young girl. She has to be better than any man around her. She’s the Family future. Can she handle the family and all that it entails? Let’s, watch Alessandra in Part One of My Life series as she trains to be the heir to the Canzano Family the way her Capo her father wants. A life that she must hide from even her closest friends and family. I really enjoyed My Hidden Life and Alessandra and I can’t wait to read the next installment My Tragic Life…. Wow this book was fantastic. This is by far my favorite book that i have read by this author. I loved the characters but my favorite had to be Lauren. She was the one that i would want to be friends with and she was extremely entertaining. I enjoyed the descriptions that the author gave and her writing style is fantastic. Small Town Hero: Small Town Brides (Book 1) by Kim Koby
Small Town Hero by Kim Koby is a clean romance following Rebecca after she discovers her fiancé in bed with her best friend. She leaves and just drives until the point of exhaustion. After pulling off at a gas station to fill up and rest she wakes up 4 hours later to a car that refuses to start. After harassing her for loitering Ryan takes it upon himself to help her. After discovering that the nearest hotel is closed down for remodeling he offers to let her stay at his place in the guest room. Little does he know how much this small gesture would impact both of their lives.
I was amazed at how well Rebecca handled everything. If I were in her place I probably would have shut down and fallen into a world of despair. I loved how she was able to move past everything and even bring new joy into Ryan’s life. This beautiful novel was well written and clean. It focused mostly on n renewal but also shared how important the main characters faith was. I really enjoyed this novel and give it an easy 5-star rating.

I’m trying to get my thoughts together on this book. I just finished a bit ago and I still can’t believe what I read. This was a beautifully tragic story. Lucy has had a rough life from a child on through her years. Her one day of sunshine was Romeo, her best friend. When one day paths cross with Dominic and her life is never the same. Through it all she just survives and then fate steps in. And that’s when it all went topsy turvy for me. I cannot give anything away as you Have to read to feel and understand what Lucy has gone through and I was not expecting what happened at all and I still have raw emotions here! Lauren is singing one night at her job and she meets this handsome man. She realizes who he is instantly and is shocked he is talking to her.
David Randle is a british super model in town for his sisters wedding, there is something about Lauren that he really likes. He ends up spending some extra time with her and sends her an invite to his sisters wedding.
Moving forward as Lauren spends more time with David she gets a look into what his life is like. And of course we can’t have a great story without some issues arising. David’s assistant isn’t happy with Lauren being in David’s life. Will she cause enough issues that things won’t work out? Can they have more than just a fling?
I really liked both of these characters very much. They each had great characteristics and were loveable. And you can’t help but love a hot british man. The secondary characters added a great element to the story. Its sweet the relationship that David has with his sister, I loved it. K.G. Fletcher has once again pulled me right in with her writing and I really love the playlists that she creates as well. 1-click and get started today.

Redemption (Ash Park #5) by Meghan O’Flynn was a heart pounding, feels invoking, raw psychological thriller that not only hooked me like the other books, but it brought me back to the first book, to that unsolved case, that’s ends with a shocking conclusion.
Coming off the emotional punch to the face from the last book, this book picks up pretty close to when books four ends. I will say before I continue, though these books can be read as standalones, they are following a connecting plot line, and time line. So I highly suggest reading the other books in this series. Especially the first book, as this one directly connects to it. You won’t get the full emotional boot kick, if you skip it. Plus, all the books in this series are freaking amazing!
I don’t even know how to review this book, it wasn’t what I was expecting, and frankly this is probably one of the best books I have read this year. But, let me be clear, to get the full effect, you got to read the other books. You got to see the darkness that’s been smothering Petrosky. His downward spiral, his ghosts, his willingness to just end it all. All of that, from those books, everything leads up to this one. This book will shock you, wreck you and, you will not see the ending coming. I was second guessing everything, and it was, wow.. just wow.
I really hope this isn’t the end of the series, I feel like there needs to be one more, just one more to close it out fully. But if this is the last book, then I have to say, that Meghan O’Flynn has done this series justice and ended it just as strong as it was started. Every book was strong, and that consistency of high level writing is what separates this series, this book, from others like it.
In saying that, please, please, take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval that this book is not only a must read, it’s a classic in the making. It will break your emotions, have you struggling to keep it together, and you will shed some tears. This book, this series, is on a whole other level, and is worth every bit of praise it has received.

I was so excited to read this book after finishing The Only One, we got a glimpse of Aless at the end of that book but this story starts when she was a young girl, the daughter of the head of a crime family who wants to shape her into the one that takes over the family when she gets older and marries whoever it is her father decides she will marry.
She’s had to learn to defend herself at a very young age and as time goes by she learns a few things about her family and is closest to her Uncle Louie who has swore on his life he will keep her safe. She has been named the princess of the family and as time goes by the sense of family and security starts wavering and she knows she might just have to take her future into her own hands.
I loved learning how her and Grayson met and the connection the two shared…I sincerely love this authors writing style, I enjoyed every word and can not wait to read the next in Aless’s story and see what happens with her future.
I highly recommend this story as well as the first in the Brothers of Camelot, I can already tell this whole series is going to be one that I’ll want to reread in the future.

Michael’s Heart is the first book I’ve read by Lori Harrington and I was not disappointed. This book had everything that makes a great romance. As a music lover, I always love when music is a central part of a story. Colbie has always believed there was one person out there for her. A tragic event almost takes everything away, but coming back to a rough recovery music helps her get through it. She meets someone, but is he the one? You’ll have to read it to find out.

Our Unexpected Hope is an amazing and heart-warming contemporary romance by Michelle Sullivan. It is not my first encounter with this writer and as I absolutely loved her Sunset after the Storm, I knew I had to pick up Our Unexpected Hope. I thought that I knew what to expect but that was not the case … she went beyond anything I had imagined and the ending … you leave me in awe. Our Unexpected Hope is the story of Quinn and Noah … the story batters at you, it takes you to highs and then drops you to lows and you bawl your eyes out and you sigh in content and you feel, so much, that at times you feel that you cannot breathe … Quinn is the daughter of Dez and Karalyn (apparently their story was told in ‘Our Next Chapter’ so I need to go and pick that one up next!) and Noah has had no one in his corner, no one loving him … They are a great couple and you simply cannot do less than root for them … I loved how realistic the story was, it had its highs and its lows and it just felt so real … I will leave you with this: “Hope. A four-letter word I never thought would be the most important four-letter word in my life. I always had hope in my life.”
