Love, Christmas – Movies You Love (The Holiday Series Book 2 is an amazing collection of short stories by various authors including Tamara Ferguson, Suzanne Jenkins and Natalie Ann. I enjoyed each of the the stories I read but decided to spotlight a few by authors that are new to me.
A Royal White Christmas by Leanne Banks
Holly’s life is already in chaos, she is helping run her brothers farm. She meets the handsome stranger thanks to Brandi the Beagle.
I’m a sucker for any story that features a dog, but I’m partial to dogs that remind me of dogs I know and Brandi reminded me of my sister in laws dog Westley. Always getting into some and escaping. Very sweet ending.
Miracle on Christmas Tree Street by Alicia Street
Hannah and her daughter Abbie are starting a new life by running her Aunt’s Bed and Breakfast. After she gets there she finds all sorts of unusual little things happening all of which lead to a Christmas miracle and a happy ending.
The Holiday (Christmas) by Nancy Radke
Jodie is spending the holidays in one of the most beautiful places I have had the pleasure of going to, Hawaii. She is trying to escape a lot but has no clue what she’s going to find when she gets there.
This was another great story with a happy ending.

Sailors Knot is the fourth book in the Eastern Shore Swingers series by Phoebe Alexander and so far my favorite. I loved learning about Casey’s life long before the club came about.
Casey is one of those characters that I would like to be like is a lot of ways. She’s beyond confident and comfortable with who she is as a whole. If I had an eighth of her confidence I would be a happy woman.
The flash backs to the time when Casey was her happiest were some of the hottest scenes I can recall reading ever. I also loved reading about Leah and Paisley and getting caught up with them.
Ms. Alexander is on to something with this series and hope she doesn’t plan on ending it any time soon.

This is a story will show you that there is hope for all those looking for love. You will not be disappointed with Michael’s Heart.

5 Star The Nearness of You By K.G. Fletcher is by far my favorite book by her,I’ve read several books by this author and love them all. I had a hard time putting this down once I started reading it. I love this author’s style of writing and her ability to make you feel as if you are right along side the characters. Her characters are very real and connectable. I just love David and Lauren. There are a few twists and turns that I didn’t really see coming but I had to see what happened next. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more from this Author.

Love, Christmas – Movies you love was a great 5 star read. I loved this book and the 26 stories within the pages.
These are all new romance stories from so many great authors. Some were new authors for me and there were favorites as well. I love the twist on holiday movies with these stories, my emotions were all over the place with each of them. You can take your time and read a story here and there or sit and read them all at once. They range from second chance romance to historical romance and so much more.
A Wonderful life was an emotional read for me. Noel is about to make a drastic decision, he has too many people that will be impacted by his choice and his guardian angel couldn’t let him follow through with it. Than he meets Mary and things change for him. He was saved to help Mary and protect her. Will they get a HEA?
I was a mess reading Finding Love. When Lucy goes to her father’s cabin for Christmas. Lucy lost her father to a plane crash and being at the cabin makes her feel close to him. Then she meets Maverick the next door neighbor. Maverick feels like he’s known Lucy from all the stories her father shared with him. These two end up having sparks between them and develop some feelings. Will they have a HEA?
A Christmas Getaway pulled me right in and brought me to tears once again. Ryder goes on a ski trip to sulk in booze and get away. When he gets to the cabin he discovers it was double booked to Olivia and her son. He wasn’t happy about the situation. We learn as we move forward some of Ryder’s history, have the kleenex ready.
There are so many more great stories and I highly recommend you 1-click and get reading. I look forward to reading more from all of these authors. What a great way to get in the holiday mood.

Eternal Bloom Book 2 By A.E. Gamrat Eternal Bloom is book two in this wonderful series. Like with most good series book two picked up perfectly from book one. So now we have Gwen making her way in life since she has finished college, you will find in this transition it will cover everything from what being an adult is to love, family and what she is looking at career wise. In book two you will find that you can still easily connect with Gwen, you might even get to like her mum a little bit. What I really liked about these two books is the friendship between Lena and Gwen, I really like the way that throughout all their friendship stayed strong, seemed real and it may have you feeling that you can feel the love these two girls seem to have for each other. Nothing better than being close to characters in a book. Makes the storyline so much more. You will love these two books but remember to read them in order.

Love, Christmas is a mix of 26 magical stories, that happen to revolve around Christmas time. Each story is well written with characters just wanting a little Christmas love.
Tamara Ferguson has captured my heart with Two Hearts Home for Christmas. This story is part of her Two Hearts Wounded Warrior series. It is book 9. This story is about Nancy and John, who find each other when they are just seniors in high school. Each planned to enlist in the military. Of course, they couldn’t enlist in the same branch, that would be too easy and not what the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior series is all about. After several years apart Nancy and John are hoping to find each other again. They must meet back at DragonFly Pointe in hopes that a little Christmas magic has kept their love alive.
Can She Get Home for Christmas? is written by Rebecca York. This is my first story by York and I can not wait to read more. She too captured my heart with her story of Samantha and Jax. Jax is keeping secrets and I hope Sam can handle them when she finds out. They certainly have a little mystery unfolding in their lives. I look forward to reading about what happens to them because this story is not finished!
Each story brings you something different but just like the movies they are written like, you get an enjoyable story with new characters and adventures. I suggest you get this anthology as it is full of stories that will touch your heart.

New Bloom is book one in this series which consists of two books by AE Gamrat. Having read both books it is highly recommended that they are read in order, reason being you really do need to have a background of the storyline. There is nothing about these books that I didn’t like, both books are so easy to follow, they flow perfectly. There are a lot of emotions everything from friendship to pain and anger. I felt that Gwen couldn’t have told her life story any better than she did, there are also awesome secondary characters which I feel held their own in the story. Gwen is a college graduate and like all graduates her life will enter a new phase, some parts of her new life will not be what she saw it to be. I found Gwen’s mother to be quite horrible and I am glad she had her friend Lena to lean on.

This is the first book I’ve read by Jesikah Sundin, I enjoy reading Claire Luana so I was excited to read this story.
It’s an interesting take on The Knights of the Round Table. Honestly, I don’t know much about the legend so it was all pretty new to me. I found the reverse harem an interesting twist. RH is new to me and it feels like it’s the latest “popular genre”. I have read a lot of it and this seemed tamer than what I have read.
The story features a kick a** strong female lead whose destiny is written and it is not the usual direction you would think she would be going. The characters are well developed and the story is layered with a few different threads. It held my interest and I only found myself skimming a few times.
I will re-read this story when the future installments are published.

Small Town Hero (Small Town Brides Book 1) By Kim Koby. This book was everything I was looking for to read right now. From page one I was drawn in and completely hooked until the last page. I read it in one sitting because I just couldn’t stop. Rebecca and Ryan just have this incredible connection you feel jump off the pages. Rebecca and Ryan both know heartache and while Rebecca’s is a little fresher they are each trying to find their footing again. The author writes a story that comes alive in you mind and has you feeling all the emotions written in the story right in your own heart. I was rooting for these two amazing characters all the way and love them so much. I’m excited to see where the author takes readers next. I’m definitely adding this one to my read again list because I’ll need to revisit Rebecca and Ryan again for sure. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it to all the romance readers out there!

Love, Christmas-Movies You Love is the second book in The Holiday Series. This is an anthology that the stories are inspired by Christmas movies. Each of the stories are on average 8-10 chapters and read quickly. The first story in the book caught my eye immediately being inspired by “It’s a Wonderful Life”. “A Wonderful Life” by Mimi Barbour is a sweet, heartwarming story where Clarence comes back to help Bedford Falls. I enjoyed this story because it kept the wholesome sweetness the movie had going. I also enjoyed the story “The Holiday” by Nancy Radke. I am still working my way through the anthology and will give myself a little Christmas treat here and there to get myself in the holiday mood. This is a fun collection and if you like Christmas movies you will enjoy this fun treat of many stories to choose from.

Redemption An Ash Park Novel Volume 5 By Meghan O’Flynn ☆☆☆☆☆ This is a complete suspenseful thriller. No spoilers here.
Detective Petrosky is a long time detective. He has been through a lot, and lost a lot. His goal is to stop and catch, The Looking Glass Killer. Not an easy job sense he is one step ahead, of the Detective. But Detective Petrosky will put the case to rest, if it’s the last thing he does. This is not his only case. He must also find the scum that murdered his daughter. The one good thing in his life, was taken tortured, burned alive, and left in a field. This Detective will not rest, until these two cases are solved.
Meghan O’Flynn has written the most intense murder mystery I have read in a long time. This story had me at chapter 1, page one. A non stop thriller, just my kind of story. The characters are just as intense as their story. This has been one of those books you hate to put down. Just enough action to keep you searching for the killer yourself. You must read the series in order. Not for those under 18 or with a weak heart.

Alexis is a rogue werewolf and therefore she has spent her life on the run since she first shifted at 13. But things are finally coming together. She has reunited with her sister after a very long time. Plus, now that her sister is happily married, she has an open invitation to join their pack. It would be nice to settle down, but all she has known is a life on the run. Although, the more she learns of Bryce, the more she feels like maybe she wants more. But would it ever work?
Bryce is Macie’s partner on the police force. When he is introduced to Macie’s sister, Alexis, there is something about her that immediately interests him. But she keeps leaving. When it looks like she has gotten into something that she can’t handle, he feels compelled to help her. She is hiding things, but he is determined to get the bottom of it. Plus, can he make her stay?
This is a great series. The two characters were both in the previous books, but we didn’t see too much of them. It was great to see them as the leads in this book. I really liked the idea of Alexis and was strongly hoping she would be featured in an upcoming book. Not to mention that Bryce seemed like a good guy too and I was happy to learn more of him. There is more going on than just their romance too, which makes this book even better. I got drawn into it right away and could not put it down until I was finished.

Eternal Bloom (Bloom Duet) by A.E. Gamrat was a emotionally raw, kick to the feels, that may have cause some tears to slip.
Before we start I must warn you this is a duet, and is the second part to it. I highly suggest you read the first book before going into this one, as there is much need back information, character development, and general plot devices that will be needed in order to fully understand, and embrace this emotionally raw punch to the heart.
This book makes up for my mixed feels in the first. The beautiful crafted writing is carried over and you can’t help but be sucked into Gwen’s heartache, mixed emotions, and the sh&^ storm that seems to be getting out of hand. The once sheltered Gwen is coming into her own at a fast pace, and for a bit I was worried it might be too much for her. But, I have to say, Gwen fast became a strong, solid complex character that shone.
As this book is the second and final, I’m going to keep the review a little short as I don’t want to start gushing and spoil this gem. But I need to you know that this book, this duet, is something special. It’s a must read for not only those that are trying to find their place, but for anyone that has a heart. This has things we all can relate too, and experiences that will bring you back to that time in your life, when everything felt like it will fall apart.
So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will be invested, and will be reaching for those tissues.
This anthology Love, Christmas-Movies You Love is a collections of Christmas stories. These stories are based on Christmas movies with twists. The stories are not in a series and can be stand-alone books. This is a fun collection you can enjoy reading the stories that stand out to you and then go back and read the other stories. One thing that I really enjoyed was the variety of stories. There weren’t only romance theme stories, but family theme stories as well. I recommend this anthology especially if you like Christmas Movies told with a different twist.
Love Letter from a Snowman by Katy Walters This story caught my eye right away because I love snowmen and what better than a love letter from one. This story does pull on your heart strings. Tabitha has been hired to be a nanny to a very sick child. Lord Owen Balfour Viscount of Thurleigh is trying to keep his little boy with him as his mother had left the two of them. Tabitha is trying to get that reality for Lord Owen. She was searching for some kind of special holiday goodness as the young boy is not doing well. In comes magic and Tabitha finds children’s book about a snowman. While Lord Owen’s son feels a connection with the snowman, Tabitha and Lord Owen are finding a connection with each other. Will Lord Owen and Tabitha relationship grow? Will the young boy’s health turn around? These are questions that will answered and more in this beautiful story.

Reading Small Town Hero by Kim Koby was very enjoyable. I don’t I was expecting such a sweet yet well-developed book. I loved getting to know Rebecca, even though her experience wasn’t the best. As for Ryan – I fell in love with him. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop, even though it was rough to get there. But I loved the feel of second chance that we get from the book. I loved the emotions that I was able to experience. Definitely was a 4 Star Book experience.

The fifth Knight is Book 1 in the series The Knights of Caerleon. This series comes from authors Claire Luana & Jesikah Sundin. This is my second read from the author Claire Luana and she continues to show how great of a fantasy author she is. This is my first time reading a reverse harem read, and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the adventures our characters faced. This book was made even better by the way the author has written it – I love that we get told the story from various POV’s it gives us a better understanding to our characters, there thoughts and feelings and why they do or say certain things.
First off let’s point out how great of a spin on the story of King Arthur and his knights of the round table this read is. Then to make it even more captivating we are thrown into the world with fae and magic. I loved the mythology in this read, and how facts from history are incorporated into the story. This author has made this a mentally visual read, so whenever I plunged into this world I would feel as though I was there alongside the characters. This read is action-packed read that continues to captivate you from start to finish. It left you on the edge of your seat wondering what could happen on numerous occasions.
This book engaged me into the story and characters so much the ending came much too quickly – with that being said I really am looking forward to Book 2 in this series.

New Bloom (Bloom Duet) by A.E. Gamrat was a coming of age story that will grip your feels and take you on a emotional rollercoaster.
My first read by this author, I didn’t know what I was getting into, as I don’t really read these types of books. But it’s always good to get out of your comfort zone. I will say this book wasn’t what I was expecting, and I do have some mixed feelings about it.
Let’s start with some aesthetics, the writing was smooth, clean, and easy to follow. The detail was rich and painted a vivid picture of the world that A.E. Gamrat has created for us. I felt like I could jump in and be apart of the story. I loved how the tone shifts matched the scenes and added to that emotional kick that this story will give you.
Now, why do I have mixed feels. Well, it has to do with how sheltered our MC is. It was borderline abuse, and as someone who grew up in a very rural town, I’m talking the middle of nowhere, about 200 people give or take. I know what it’s like to be sheltered. But at the sametime I wasn’t naive about. There is just so much information in the world, that the way our MC was present it, made me feel like she was locked in a box most of her life. That part of it was a little, unrealistic for me. So I did have a hard time connecting at first. But she did grow on me as the story went on. Now the mother… she had more mood swings, and character shifts then I could shake a stick at. I didn’t care for her, and frankly the I didn’t feel much for her, just for Gwen.
Overall this book is a engaging, entertaining read that will hook you. The overall plot, and storytelling is addictive and you can’t help but keep reading. So please take my high recommendation and my stamp of approval that you will get lost in this tale about what it is to grow up and make those adult like decisions.
Small Town Hero (Small Town Brides #1) by Kim Koby 5 out of 5 stars Small Town Hero is the first book in the Small-Town Brides written by Kim Koby and it’s the first book that I have read by this author. I just loved Ryan and his beliefs and how he is an all-around great guy. Then you have Rebecca she has standards and beliefs that she stands by. This is a love story about betrayal, finding oneself, new beginning and finding the one love. After a crushing betrayal, Rebecca spins out of control when she catches her fiancé and best friend in bed together. She was saving herself for marriage. Grief-stricken and desperate, she finds herself stranded in Tennessee and forced to rely on the kindness of a stranger. Ryan knows heartache the only woman he loved walked away the day he proposed to her. He knew in that instant he’d never trust his heart to another. At least he has his dog to keep him company and a good job as a local firefighter. When Rebecca ends up in Ryan’s path, they blend like oil and water. While he’s content with what life gives him, she escapes by seeking her identity in expensive things. Can two broken souls find salvation with their complete opposite? I highly recommend this story and can’t wait to see what Ms. Koby has in-stored for us in the next book. By Tracy @tracym

Bound by Blood (Crescent City Wolf Pack #3) by Carrie Pulkinen was a fast paced, action packed, steamy romance, that had me hooked from start to finish.
Not my first read by this author or in this series. I am addicted to these books! I will tell you that though these read as standalones, there are major spoilers and backstories from the other two books. So I highly suggest reading them before this one. That and, they’re freaking awesome as well.
I’ve been waiting for this book, right from book one when Alexis met Bryce in the first book. Sparks seemed to fly, and you even notice it in the second. This is a long time coming for me and I was so happy to finally read their story. I was not disappointed, I knew it was going to be Alexis centered and the hard life she lead up till now. Getting her backstory, fully, was what I’ve been waiting for. I have to say, it’s dark, heart breaking and makes you just want to hug her, but at the same time it makes you understand why she so stand-of-ish and unable to fully settle down. Alexis has been a solid character since book one, and I will tell you, though she my be damaged, but she’s no pushover. Girl is kickass.
Bryce, he’s another character we finally get to see the true colours of. I’m not going to tell you what they are as it will ruin the fun. But damn, I wouldn’t kick him out of bed for eating crackers. Overall Bryce again is has been a solid character from book one. There’s a twist at the end that brings him and Macey full circle and it fit perfectly. I was kind of expecting it, but still pleasantly surprised when I was right.
Overall this book like it’s predecessors was a wicket thrill ride that full of messy action, kickass werewolves, steamy romance and of course, rich detailed writing that just pulls you into this unique, captivating world. This book, this series, is a must read. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will fall head over heels for this outstanding read.

Well the second book is just as addicting as the first. I was not disappointed! The journey for Gwen continues as it does for her family and friends. I was on the edge of my seat from the cliff hanger from book one and I was not let down. I found that the author had such a great writing style that I once again felt as though I was going through the emotions alongside Gwen.
This concluding book in the duet really brings things full circle and draws even more on the heart strings than the first. I was so torn from the first book on the way Gwen’s mom had reacted but I felt as though through this book I got to know not only Gwen more but her mother as well. I found that the author really brought life to the mother daughter relationship and this is what makes the book so real. As well as the way in which she also brings the relationship between Kame and Gwen slowly through the book is so unique and refreshing. I like the fact that it is a bit more realistic than all hearts and flowers. I really enjoyed not only the first book but this book as well. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.
I have again delved into the created world of another new author. I have to say that I quite enjoyed this book. The author has a great writing style that keeps you glued to the pages. I really didn’t want to put the book down.
This first book introduces you to Gwen and her friends and family. I really enjoyed this first book as I felt that I could really relate with Gwen. It was a very great start to the build up that I was sure to come. The author has just enough intensity to the plot that you can really find the characters relate able. I definitely found the dynamic between Gwen and Kame to be unique as well as how her relationship with her mother progressed and sort of declined. There is just so much realism to the whole situation that I found myself feeling the emotions as if I were Gwen. I really look forward to reading more from this author and the second part of this duet.
The Nearness of You by K.G Fletcher is a great feel good novel with elements of romance, passion and a fast paced world of the fashion industry.
The book revolves around Lauren a Lounge singer dreaming of making it in the music industry someday and David well established within his own world but brought back down to earth with seeing a beautiful women will she adapt to his world or will the whole experience leave her screaming from him.
I really enjoyed the premise of the story it’s not often nowadays you get a good romance novel with the mills and boon esq but none of the quivering chests lol. The chemistry between these two characters jump off the page and leaves you wanting more within the story. David reminds me when reading him of a dashing old fashioned movie star but really relatable to. Lauren just felt reading her as a friend you could tell everything to and you feel like you have known these characters forever.
I have read a few books by this author and I think I love this book the most, I believe I had just added another book boyfriend to the growing list in David and probably many more to come. I recommend this book if you love a good romance story, you would love this book.

The Nearness of You by KG Fletcher is a story about chance meetings and taking an opportunity when it is presented to you. I am familiar with this author although not overly so. That meant I wasn’t quite sure still what to expect when starting this book. I can honestly say I really enjoyed it. Lauren and David have instant chemistry and it is entirely believable. I found myself firmly on Lauren’s side before I could get too far into the book. I wanted things to work out for her. I wanted her to like David. I wanted them to make it work. The author has this way of writing that just effortlessly draws you into the story and the characters. Without even realising it you are hooked. This book was so easy to read and one that was so easy to enjoy. It has great characters and a great storyline – what more could you possibly want?

This is not something I would normally read but am so glad I did, it was awesome, and even though it’s not my normal choice of reading it was definitely interesting and had me walking away from it thinking more about things that happen in my everyday life…How even though I try not to I absolutely take so many things for granted. It’s so easy to get caught up in the rat race of life and because of some of the stories in this book I will be looking at things a little differently from this point on.
The writing in this book was beautiful and flowed smoothly, it was nice for a change to not have an ongoing story that doesnt give me time to break. I will definitely be checking out more from this author.

Each story in these books have been inspired by the authors favourite Christmas movies. In total we have twenty-six wonderful stories to read. The five stories I have selected to review are for no other reason that I have not read anything by these authors before. All Stories in this Anthology deserve to be reviewed, I enjoyed all of them.
The Holiday (Christmas) by Nancy Radke Jodie needed to get away for the holidays. She had left the job she loves because of a work colleague, thinking he would stop harassing her after she left, she was wrong as he turned up on her door step. So, in order to get away she did a house swap with Maureen. She was looking forward to getting to Maureen’s house, away from people and especially men. But arriving at Maureen’s house she found Stuart there. Not impressed she ordered him out of the house only to find he had an open invitation to be there. After she had found out her could be there she had to admit it was nice having him around. What was she thinking considering she wanted to be away from men? She was glad Stuart had to fix his boat, she was also hoping he would stay around a little longer.
A Christmas to Remember by Cynthia Cooke Brianna years ago, had given Owen his ring back after deciding that he wasn’t what she wanted. She was now with Nolan, who she was planning on moving to Vegas to be with. Brianna and her mom ran a B&B which also catered for weddings, something they both liked doing. However, for the present wedding a storm was approaching and since the B&B was in the mountains Brianna decided to head to town and pick up the cake. But to her horror on the way home the car slid, and she was slightly injured, how ever the cake was wrecked. Now she had no cake for the wedding and came face to face with the man she had left years ago. What she couldn’t work out was after the way she had left him how could he still have an effect on her she didn’t expect. So, the question is, will she stay on the mountain and re-explore Owen? Or will she go to Vegas and be with Nolan and her dream job? I know which one I would pick.
Christmas With the Clouds by Suzanne Jenkins Brian and Tracy had everything, good jobs, a beautiful home but more importantly a daughter they both loved more than life itself. Christmas was just around the corner and they were looking forward to seeing their daughters face on the day. So, what could go wrong? The answer to that is the morning Brian went to work and never came home. Tracy now being alone as she had no parents or siblings had no one to turn to. How could she have lost one of the most import people to her in the blink of an eye. So, she phoned the only person she could think of, Elizabeth. Elizabeth was one of her clients and even though Tracy didn’t know her that well, Elizabeth dropped everything and headed to Tracy. Finally, Tracy would understand where Elizabeth was coming from in their counselling sessions. Tracy would also learn there was more to Elizabeth than she thought. This one is bit of a tear jerker.
A Christmas Getaway by Jen Talty Ryder really needed a break from work and had no choice when his supervisor told him to take some time off. Ryder’s life was turned upside down after the murder of his wife and small son. So, at the last minute he booked a cabin at the base of Killington Peak. This would have been perfect if the cabin hadn’t been doubled booked. All Ryder wanted was to drink the time away and not be around anyone else. Now on the cabin steps he could hear the laughter of a woman and her child. Neither was impressed to see the other there. Olivia ordered Ryder to leave by he refused showing her that he had booked the cabin. Will Ryder eventually pick to leave the cabin, so Olivia and Noah can enjoy their Christmas break? Or is Olivia and Noah just what Ryder needs?
Boyfriend Wanted for Christmas by Melinda De Ross Andrea and her best friend Angie were having their usual Christmas movie binge. Angie then decided that they needed to find Andrea a boyfriend for Christmas, after all it had been two years since she last had a man in her life. To Andrea’s horror Angie joined her up on a dating site. Andrea wasn’t sure this was the right thing for her, but Angie told her what she had to lose and after all Christmas was only seven days away. Andrea thought it was going to be impossible to find a boyfriend before Christmas. But when she woke the next morning she had around thirty-seven messages from men that wanted to meet her. It took Andrea two hours to get the list down to what she thought was her best choices. She narrowed the list down to Sam her first choice, Alex her second and lastly Jack she had him as her last resort. Now all she had to do was meet them. Would she have a boyfriend for Christmas? Or would she go it alone for another year?

Do Not Open Until Halloween is a wonderful new story by C.A King. It is a short story, which made it a quick and easy read. The story has an original premise and is a young adult fantasy with magic, magical creatures, some spookiness, adventure, and a wonderful underlying (anti-bullying) message. I can always count on Ms. King to write a story that will pull me in and keep me hooked right through till the end, and this book was no exception. I love her all her books, so I was really excited to see this pop up on my feed and snapped it up right away. Caitlin grew up listening to her Aunt Petunia’s fairy stories and the wonderful tales she would tell. But now at 18 she still loves her Aunt but thinks she’s just peculiar. When her Aunt asks Caitlin to house sit for her and take care of her two cats, Caitlin agrees- but then the boy she’s been crushing on asks her out, which clashes with her new responsibilities. So she decides to invite a small group over to her Aunt’s place instead. But what happens when her world collides with the magical realm. When an unexpected ‘guest’ arrives, trouble soon follows, and Caitlin will have to decide what she believes in. What will she do? You will enjoy reading this wonderful story to find out all the fascinating details. This is such an imaginative, unique and well written story. Ms. King has a very dynamic and magical style, with wonderfully detailed descriptions and rich, vibrant scene setting. Through her words we are transported into the story to watch everything play out right alongside the characters. Through Ms. Kings incredible world building skills, a whole new fascinating world opens up. The characters were well developed, quirky, and interesting. I loved Aunt Petunia (and the cats). I hope we will get the chance to explore more of this world again!

Tomb for an Eagle is the first book in the Orkneyinga Murders series by Lexie Conyngham. It is an intriguing historical crime/murder mystery with lots of fascinating elements. It is set in Scotland in the age of the Vikings- which makes for fascinating reading just in itself. There is of course mystery, suspense, intrigue, and some drama. The story is quite original, and I enjoyed following along, trying to work out whodunit before everything was revealed. Ms. Conyngham has a descriptive style, with an attention to detail that really works well with this genre. I found the map and list of characters at the beginning of the book, and the Outlandish word translations at the back of the book, to be quite helpful. I did find that some of the names were a little difficult to get my head around, and I’m glad I only had to read them and not pronounce them, as I’m sure I would have made a mess of them. This may be my first read from Ms. Conyngham, but it certainly won’t be my last. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series, “A Wolf at the Gate”.

What an amazing story! I was so pleased to see this was out! I loved the last two and this one is special in its own right. I couldn’t wait to read the story of these two after seeing (reading) them in the last couple books. I figured they would have a good story. Boy was I right! The weaving of the story was perfect. It kept my interest and moved along at a good pace. There were some wonderful moments in here as well as a few shockers and out loud laughing. For example: The cooking scene….hahahahah…it….hahaha…makes me laugh….hahaha…every time ….haha*snort*haha…I think about it!! That Bryce! He’s a keeper! Haha! Great scene!!!!
These characters started so low and….well separate. They each have lived their own life just the way they want it for many years. Change was bound to happen. They each had so much room to grow. I wanted Alexis to stop being a rogue as much as Bryce did. But she is so stubborn and has been alone for so long….I feared it was all she knew. Bryce’s story was a shocker and it was told so well. Sorry No spoilers! I loved being inside their heads reading their wants and needs as well as their concerns. Usually I’m more of a dialogue person and the mesh of the two worked very well here. Each main character had so many secrets that to understand them we needed that little insight.
I am a huge werewolf fan so this series is right up my alley. I love seeing all the previous characters and getting to hang out with them. Seems like James is the only one left that is single…..ooh ooh makes me wonder if his man card is about to get punched???

Hard as Steel is the fourth book in the Surviving series by Virginia Vine. This is my first read by Ms. Vine, but when I read the blurb I was immediately hooked and needed to find out what happens. I realise now that this being book four in a series, I would have been better reading the other three books before starting this one, as I feel that there was backstory and character information that I was missing, and that detracted somewhat from my enjoyment of this book. I love the premise of the book, enjoyed the story, and liked the characters. But there were a few issues that prevented this book from reaching its full potential, and delivering promise held in the synopsis. I will get to these issues in a moment. Nicole Lancaster is a seasoned FBI Agent who is focused of her career and moving up the ladder as high as she can go. A woman in a man’s world, she has to work twice as hard as her male colleagues, just to prove herself and gain any recognition. She’s up for another promotion, so she doesn’t need any distractions that may derail her plans. But what happens when a case pulls her in a lot farther than she expects? The more time she spends with the broken young woman, the more she pulls her in. What about the sparks and intense connection she feels towards a certain private investigator who’s also looking into the case? With danger an ever-present factor there is no room for error. Steel Archer is ex-military, now working with PI Securities. He’s had some traumatic experiences that still haunt him. When a battered and broken young woman stumbles into his world, it thrusts him into an investigation that will test him and require him to draw on all his training to make it through. Nicole brings a calming and soothing effect on him- but she has a hard shell that he’ll need to crack in order to pursue anything with her. What happens when he’s targeted by an evil mastermind in a sinister plot? Is there a connection to the current case he’s working on? Will he break through Nicole’ defences and convince her that he’s worth the risk? When danger comes calling, can he keep everyone safe? This story is told from several points of view, which gives the reader a really great perspective of what’s going on. There were parts of the story that really tugged at my heartstrings and had me feeling for what the characters had been/were going through. The story was complex and multi-layered, with a lot of flashbacks that helped to build some backstory and move the plot on. There was a lyrical/poetic style to the writer’s style, especially in the flashback sequences. The story was detailed and descriptive- but there were times the story felt a bit abrupt or clipped. Like I said previously, I think I would have enjoyed the story more if I had read the previous books first, because there seemed to be too much information and character details that I ‘should have known already’. This did take away from my enjoyment of the story. Also, it wasn’t always apparent ‘who’ was speaking, and I had to re-read some of the dialog to work it out. Then there were quite a few editing issues that kept pulling me out of the story. Simple thing that could have been caught, and without which this would have been an amazing read. Things such as misused words, ie: mild stone, instead of milestone; acquittance, instead of acquaintance; manors, instead of manners- just as a few examples. Then there were words that should have been plurals and weren’t, and quite a few punctuation issues. Although these things were minor issues, they did interrupt the flow, and my overall enjoyment of the story. I am intrigued to see what happens in the first three books, and whether, as I suspect, there is a bridging/underlying storyline. So, I will be going back to read the first three books to find out. I also really liked Grace and am intrigued by her and want to know more- so I will definitely be reading the next book, “Surviving Grace”.
