Amabel Daniels’ Across From You is a fun to read romantic comedy. Start to finish, this was a great book to read and the laughs keep coming. The story line was amusing and the characters out right hilarious. Did I mention funny? I could see these events play out in every day life, that would seriously be my luck. To read it on these pages, it was well written and the author found just the right mixture of comedy to add with the rest of the story to not make it too outlandish and far-fetched. The tension between Jack and Lexi can be felt. I enjoyed the tug and pull of the characters as their relationship. Amabel Daniels is a talented author that can deliver.

Deadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover Novel, by Maddie Wade and India Kells, is the best of two romantic suspense series. Each of these series shine in this genre on their own, combined it creates a high thrill story full of drama, danger and some heavy romantic interludes. Very strong personalities are present in this story, that work well together. There is certainly some tension as the characters from the two separate series come together, but what else would you anticipate with them. The plot of this story was well done and I loved the flow, character development and the possibility of what more is to come from these two authors. A great suspenseful read for anyone who loves romance with some drama/adventure added into the mix.
Credence Woods by Alexandria Sure was a light hearted, okay read, that had lots of good feels.
My first read by this author, and I must say I liked the writing style and the overall plot line. I’m not much of a reader of the contemporary romance scene. This one was okay, it kept my attention and it had a lightness to it, that made the story go by quickly. I will say that, as much as I liked the overall story, it did, for me at times, fall short and feel dull.
When I say this fell a little short for me, It was more along the lines of, toned down drama, or lack of it. I’m not a big drama person, but at the same time, if you don’t have any or hardly any in your story, it gets that dull feeling. Sure there was some, Kennedy hitting a deer, meeting the ex, (which had to be the weirdest non-conflicting confrontation ever) the whole Max thing in general. But, just when you think the author is going in for a knock out, it pulled up short, and it was more like a light pinch, then a bee sting. For me, the most exciting thing was the opening. That held so much potential, but, again, just not quite enough.
Overall this is a very enjoyable read, as I said it has lots of good feels, the writing is easy to follow, the tones matched the scenes, and it has thick body image themes and stresses the positive, learning how to accept yourself faults and all, message. Max is a dream guy, and I wish to hell he was real. Could use me one like that..lol. But it all seriousness, I believe everyone will find something to like about this book. It’s a fairly quick read, and good for a lazy day, when you’re looking for something to warm your heart and put you in a good mood.
So please take my recommendation and my stamp of approval that you will get lost in this heartwarming romance.
Must Love Fashion by Deborah Garland. This was a great start to the Darling Cove series. Gwen and Andrew are both at a point of starting over – Gwen with a new PR Executive job and Andrew with moving on after losing his wife to cancer. Like all office romances, there are some bumps in the road and lots of side glances. But after getting to know each other better; that’s when the sparks really started flying. The side topic of cancer made me an emotional wreck. Not in a bad way just made me think of my life and what is going on. I did love getting the insiders look at the fashion world, very interesting. Deborah’s writing flowed at a great pace that it will keep you reading all day/night long. Really looking forward to seeing what happens next in Darling Cove.

Do Not Open Until Halloween is not the first book I’ve read by C.A King and while I’ve enjoyed every book I have read by this author, this one is my absolute favorite so far. This book hooked me from the very beginning as we get a glimpse into Aunt Petunia and Caitlin’s past relationship. As the story progressed I found myself lost in this magical realm and truly intrigued. As someone that has always been interested in fairies this story was truly fun and satisfying from start to finish. Being a fairly short read the pages flew by. C.A King really knocked it out of the park with this book, but what’s just as great as the characters and unique storyline is the opportunity she took to address bullying both throughout the storyline and the written message after the book concluded. If you like fast paced fantasy I definitely recommend this five star read.

Conviction is the second book in Meghan O’Flynn’s Ash Park series that takes place in the run down area of Detroit. It could be read as a standalone but there is a backstory and characters that are present throughout the series. You can see how the writer has gotten deeper into the Ash Park world, the story is complex and the characters have layers, you learn more about them and it makes you understand where they come from and why they act the way they do. All of them are like us – dark and light – and it is up to them how they choose. We have Petrosky and Morrison with Shannon Taylor from the prosecutor’s office and all of them have their doubts regarding the ‘guilty’ verdict that the young woman Ashley Johnson received. And the doubts grow stronger when Shannon gest stalked and her family gets harassed … and there is a galore of suspects … take your pick! At the same time, the story is much more than just trying to find out who the killer is … I am looking forward to the next story to see where the writer takes us …

Famished by Meghan O’Flynn is the opening to her Ash Park series that introduces us to Detective Petrosky who will be our lead throughout the series. How do I know? Well, I happened to pick up the fourth book first and realized that even though it sort of seemed like a standalone, I needed to come back to the beginning … This opening to the series was a bit underwhelming, at least that is how I felt as I had read the fourth book … I know though that it will get more intense with each book as the writer gets more and more into the characters, giving them more dimension … it is a great start to a twisted labyrinth of violence where everyone has too many skeletons in their closets. The writer gives us a cat and mouse serial killer universe that leaves you doubting yourself and guessing at who it is. I loved that the story was told from multiple characters’ point of view as it added dimension and layers. I have to warn you that it is very graphic so it is not for faint at heart! I will forge on to the next book in the series!

A great read about the unexpected. Caitlin does her aunt Petunia a favour by catsitting whilst Petunia is at a funeral. Wanting to ask out a boy, she invites some friends over to pass the time. When things go wrong and rules are broken, will she be able to set it right before Petunia returns home? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Caitlin trying to do the right thing or Dwayne as kind and knowledgeable. Great cast of supporting characters like the eccentric author Petunia or the annoying Justin or the stubborn Merlin. I loved the dip into the horror genre with the visual detail of the house in its gothic look and overgrown weeds and mysterious shed to create unease which was beautifully done. Also the fantasy with the gnomes and cats as otherworldly and a different take on fairies with the bubbles was a brillaint addition to the genre. Fast paced action and rules waiting to be broken in a shifting magical location made for a captivating read. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Repressed is the third story in Meghan O’Flynn’s Ash Park series and I think she has done it now … I have nothing to say but “she has arrived”, roll out the carpet! Repressed is THE story of Detective Curtis Morrison who we met in the first book and learnt more about in the second book … but still (zen) waters run deep … his checkered past seems to be catching up to him – his wife (who we also met in the previous books, the second book was her book) and baby daughter go missing and there is this sadistic monster that is ruling this nightmare that he has initiated to make Morrison to pay for the sins from twenty years ago… The story is dark, disturbing … it is very graphic, the violence, it leaves you shuddering… the way the writer describes addition, it blows your mind … the story is fast paced and you will get a mystery with its beginning, middle and the end! If this is your first book of the series, it will pull you in and you will want to read the other ones and I promise you, you should! I started with book four and now when I have also read the first three, I keep thinking about the fourth one and lamenting what I missed … I think it deserves a re-read!

Our Unexpected Hope by Michelle Sullivan is a contemporary romance. This book can be read as a standalone but if you read Our Next Chapter, you will be introduced to Quinn.
Quinn has always wanted a love like her parents. It’s why she’s never had a boyfriend. She won’t settle. Then she meets Noah. It feels like she’s known Noah her entire life and she just knows it’s right.
Noah didn’t have the type of family Quinn had so he’s never seen true love but he knows he’s drawn to Quinn and he doesn’t want to question it. With such different upbringings, there is bound to be differences in opinion but how they get through it will really tell the strength of their love. Will they be able to get passed all their barriers?
I couldn’t put this book down once I started it. I had to find out what happened. I was on an emotional rollercoaster and I didn’t want it to stop. The characters were amazing and you really get sucked into their world. I felt so bad for Noah and not having a family. I could feel his sadness over it. I can’t say enough great things about this book!! You won’t be disappointed!
Our Unexpected Hope is from author Michelle Sullivan. This is my second read from this author and I was so glad that I got to experience her writing style and incredible characters again. These books are stand-alone but there are some characters that are mentioned in this read that play pivotal parts in the first book Our Next a chapter. So I think for the best experience to read them together just to get a better insight into certain characters backgrounds.
Noah and Quinn had an amazing connection from the get-go. It was quite a quick progression of their relationship but it was a connection that blended well and worked out for the best in the end. Both of these characters had depth, they are lovable and relatable and I enjoyed reading their journey from the get-go. This book takes us on an up and down rollercoaster of emotions from start till finish. You are either smiling, laughing, crying, sad, angry and even excitement. You never get bored while reading this book and there is always something going on. I was totally captivated and entranced from the first page.
After another incredible read from this author, I guarantee she will become one of my go-to authors. This is an incredible read that I highly recommend to others to read! Don’t miss it!

Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington is a story about what happens when you have to choose love or life.
Colbie is a struggling single mother, who is working in the music industry as a jingle writer but she really wants more in her life music is her life and she feels it in her soul, but one day her whole world changes.
She is then thrown into turmoil when she has a tragic accident and is in a reality which she meets her soul mate the only problem is she has to make the decision to live in the other world or come back to the real world. After a painful recovery she learns to write music from the heart but she always feels Michael is their with her.
I really enjoyed the concept of this book, the character of Colbie was truly a great character. The book involves the struggles of life with the added detail of romance, with thought provoking questions to. I loved the style of writing and thought the story flowed brilliant through the life and loves of Colbie. This is the first book I have read by this author and would love to read more in the future.

I absolutely adore Arthurian legends and stories. This was just an absolutely refreshing take on the legend. I really enjoyed reading this book. I like how the authors were able to bring a refreshing twist to this and bring the story to life. I was so hooked from page one.
I like how there was new life brought to the legend of old. I was really routing for Fionna. I could just imagine myself as her trying to fight for what was right and the people I loved. This book brings such a unique twist to the legend along with more drama. I really couldn’t put this book down. I am really on the edge of my seat now awaiting the next book in this series. I have and will read more from these authors.

It Ends Tonight by A.M. Myers is the fourth book in her Bayou Devils MC series. This is a stand-alone book however the whole series is definitely worth a read. The book is all about family. The author weaves a story about loyalty and hardship that will tug at your heartstrings. Both the main characters understand what it is like to only have a small unit to rely on. Each page really showcases the emotions in this book and helps to add depth to the overall story. This book has to be my favourite in the series so far because I just found it so relatable, so believable. It was easy to get lost in the characters journey and find yourself wanting to know more. This was a brilliant book and one I could highly recommend.
Well I’m not sure how it happened but I skipped a few books in this series and I’m not happy about that. I love this series, I love the storylines in each of the books and the writing of these stories is simply spot on.
I have become fully invested in these characters and The Raven Group and each part has me falling harder for many of them. We got to meet a few new ones in this installment and many were new to me because as I said I’ve skipped ahead quite a bit. I find myself working right alongside these people during these dangerous missions and am wore out by the time I’m done reading. I love Luke and Luci and love how their story continues to play out yet never really gets resolved. I have to say this one is my favorite so far but I reserve the right to change my mind as I get caught up, and I will get caught up, and I highly recommend this series, but don’t do what I did, read them all in order, they all just seem to build on each other and I hope this series goes on for awhile because I absolutely love reading this author’s work, she has a way with her words and I know when I pick a book up I need to be prepared to be worthless till Im completely finished.
Our Unexpected Hope by Michelle Sullivan is every girls dream. Or at least it’s my dream. To find someone who loves you so much, and wants nothing but you and to make you happy. This story is a stand-alone but there is a book Our Next Chapter which is the story of Quinn’s parents that you should absolutely read. I was insanely jealous of Noah and Quinn’s relationship. The love they had for each other was so obvious it practically screamed it from the rooftops on page. The tragedy that they went through broke my heart, I cried. I have experienced their pain and I wish that on no one. I adored Quinn’s hopelessly romantic attitude toward life and how strong she was and how she had hope that things would be better. Though I have not experienced the whole “when you know, you know” situation, I was thrilled that they found theirs. Noah was the epitome of gentleman and he was just absolutely drool worthy and swoon worthy. I appreciated Michelle’s writing style, how her characters swore and loved everything whole heartily. This was truly the best happily ever after story.

Across From You is a hilarious romantic comedy by Amabel Daniels. It has humour, misadventures, funny banter and antics, a sprinkle of drama, and a lot of fun. Ms. Daniels is on my ‘must read author’s list’. So, when I saw this book, I didn’t hesitate, grabbed myself a copy and dove right in. Compared to her other books that I’ve read, this one seemed a little slower to get going, but then the pace picked up a few chapters in and the story took off from there and flowed much better. From that moment on, I was along for the ride, laughing out loud at what was happening. I really enjoyed getting to know these wonderful characters, as Ms. Daniels creates interesting and well-developed individuals that are so easy to like. Lexi Regan swore off men after getting dumped via social media and having the post go viral. She doesn’t like being in that kind of spotlight and is determined to take a break from the dating scene. When her best friend Carly wants to drag her out to an art class, Lexi really couldn’t be bothered, but goes anyway just to shut her up. Then she discovers that it’s a ‘life drawing’ class with a live model. She wasn’t expecting that, let along the hunky model who walks in and takes a pose. She can feel his eyes on her constantly and sees the smirk that he tries to hide. That just confirms it that men are all blockheads! Just when she thinks the worst may be behind her, she finds on the weekend after her art class, that Mr. Hunky Model is also part of the bridal party in her cousins wedding. And what happens next makes for quite a hilarious romp. An entertaining and light-hearted read.

Elegantly Denim: An Elegant Prelude By Tee Smith Rated 3 stars
This is a short story. The story is mostly about Denim. He owns a club. He has problems there that he needs to take care of. But what he really likes to do is help people. Which is nice. He has a difficult family and it seems only his cousin is who he discusses things with. Denim has a lot of activity in his life that probably would be too much for me. This is a prelude to Elegant Retribution. This is a fast paced snappy story. We are introduced to future characters in here. We meet a lot of different characters. Some move into and out of his life fairly quickly. Others might show back up for his assistance in some way shape or form. I am unsure what the purpose of this is other than to give more insight into how Denim is.

C.A. King you are amazing. I have always wondered where fairies came from and now I do. If you want to know where fairies come from you need to read this book. Ms. King has an amazing attention to detail that you will picture everything in your head. I can imagine the characters living right next to me. They are fully developed with in the story you see the characters grow that much more. There are so many curves and loopy-loops which make the story even better. This story is about Caitlin and her friends and holding a “little” get together at her Aunt’s house. The journey is one of discovery and magic. By the end of the story will you believe in magic? I know I do now.

Sailors Knot by Phoebe Alexander a five-star read that will twist you in knots. This is the forth book in the Eastern shore swingers series and they can all be read as stand-alone but I have read the series and loved them and this one was just the cherry on top. Casey Fontaine has always been someone I have wanted to hear what she is talking about, as a character she always spoke to me, she had that tonal authority that just made you want to know more about her, find out what her story was, and this story did just that. I loved how we got to hear all about the lives the three main women of the series are living now, we see how its not all roses, but most of all we get to see Casey and her history, how she started in the life. I loved how we get to see Casey’s sister Connie, she is someone I would love to see pop up in the Factory. It took a little to get to grips with the back and forth but the clear date lines and set story lines made it easy to keep track and get the most out of the story. I can confidently say that this was my favourite story by this author, it just showed us a depth to her writing that I am glad I had the opportunity to read.

Must Love Fashion (Darling Cove Book 1) By Deborah Garland
This is the first book in the Darling Cove series and also my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. The author has a good writing style and i was excited to see what would happen as the story went on. I honestly couldn’t put it down. The characters were some of the best, but man of man did my heart hurt for some of them. I laughed and I teared up while reading this book and that’s when you know it was a good one. What a compelling and emotional read, this was such a good read in the true style by this author you will adore the characters. Quinn was a great person, she just had something about her and when you see where she comes from it becomes clear why she was such a great character. With Noah for some reason it took longer to get warm to him, but I adored him in the end. Overall this was a great story and one you will need to read.

The Fifth Knight: An Arthurian Legend Reverse Harem Romance (The Knights of Caerleon Series Book 1) By Claire Luana and Jesikah Sundin I enjoyed reading this book, from the moment I started reading I was drawn into a world of fantasy, magic, action, and romance. I couldn’t put it down till I had read every page. I really liked the twists and turns on this version of the Legend of King Arthur. I think the Reverse Harem part of the story was written very well. The heroin Fionna is an awesome character, she is strong, and independent and I loved her. This is a must read to find out what sort of twists and turns there are in this particular story, but I will tell you that this is an exceptionally well written story that kept me captivated throughout. I highly recommend this book.

This intense thriller is riveting, action packed, and well detailed. It is not warm and fuzzy and is not for all readers. It felt very realistic in its plot development and treated the overall themes seriously. The author delivered relatable characters and thrilling scenarios. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

This short prequel does a good job establishing the foundation of this series’s main character and the author’s writing style. For me it felt like a quick snapshot, almost a teaser, of what is to come. I think it does a good job drawing the reader’s interest so they continue the series. A good story and interesting beginning.

If this is the first book you are considering by this author, please go back and read the other books in this fantastic series. It will give you a much better understanding of what is going on and who everyone is.
This is a story about life. Plain and simple as life. The story goes from situation to situation with an honesty that is unusual in fiction.
We get to follow up with characters we’ve previously met and hopefully it’s not for the last time.
It’s a well developed story with emotional situations throughout. I felt all the feelings right along with the characters.
I absolutely recommend this book, this series, and this author.

5 Star The Fifth Knight : An Arthurian Legend Reverse Harem Romance (The Knights of Caerleon Series Book 1 ) By Claire Luana and Jesikah Sundin is the first book in the Fifth Knight series. I’m super excited about this series. I have just recently started reading Reverse Harem romance books. This book has bit of everything from love, to some quests, to betrayal and curses.I had a hard time putting this down once I started reading. I had to know what happens next. Would you be willing to do whatever needed to be done to get your family back? Could you steal from a King? Find out what Fionna does to save her family. I’ve read other books by these authors and this book didn’t disappoint that’s for sure. I’m excited to read more from this series.i recommend this book. @ddaugh35

Elegantly Denim: An Elegant Prelude (Elegant Series – Prequel) By Tee Smith 4 stars
I have to admit I do like it when authors write prequels to stories especially if the main character is quite complex and we, as readers, get to find out more about them ready for the series to begin. I loved seeing into the mind of Denim and I can tell this is going to be a series that I am going to enjoy. After reading the blurb I think I had a preconceived idea of what Denim was going to be like but I was wrong and I loved that I was! I found this novella hard to put down and it has definitely got me ready for more from this series! I can’t wait to get to know Denim more – I have a feeling I am going to love him!

K.L. Montgomery’s Romance in Rehoboth series is a collection of feel-good romances set in Chesapeake Bay, with the first three books brought together in this set. The stories all work as stand-alone books, with each focusing on a different couple. Montgomery ties the stories together by having characters popping up in each other’s books. This is really lovely as it makes everyone a bit more familiar and three-dimensional. It also gives readers a chance to see the romances progressing after the “happily ever after”. Fat Girl is a great introduction to the series, although I had actually already read some of the later books. Claire is a loveable, relatable character who you can’t help but root for. As a recently single mum approaching her forties, getting back on the dating scene is not without it’s difficulties, which are compounded by her anxieties about her weight. The story is mostly light and funny, but we see Claire struggling and overcoming her insecurities as well. The Flip tells a wonderful story of two people brought together by an unlikely event, getting to know each other as they work through the herculean task of fixing up an old house. Enemies to lovers isn’t usually my favourite trope, but it’s well done here with both Sonnet and Drew being interesting characters in their own rights. Plot Twist is my favourite of the three. Musical theatre! What’s not to love? It’s fun, uplifting and relatable to anyone who’s ever been involved in theatre. They’re great books, and fun to read together. There’s already a fourth book which is also great! For me, this collection gets five stars and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants feel-good romance between loveable, relatable characters.
