Every Breath you Take is the second book in the Bayou Devils MC Series by A.M Myers. This series just seems to get better the further into it I go. I have loved the other two books, and I really liked Kodiak as a character- he has intrigued me ever since meeting him in the previous book/s. I wanted to know more about him and so I was really happy that he got his own book. I did have high expectations for this story, but Ms. Myers didn’t disappoint, producing a story that has just taken the place as my favourite of the series, so far. This is an incredibly well written story, with a multi-layered storyline, which twists and turns, and surprising me with unexpected developments. This is a Hot, funny, exciting, suspenseful, sexy and captivating read! I became so engrossed in the story that I couldn’t have put it down, even if I had wanted to. I flew through it in one sitting, and I loved every word! Tatum is a wonderful character and I liked her immediately. She’s sassy, tough, strong, stubborn, a real fighter, but with a touch of vulnerability. Lincoln (Kodiak) how I adore this character. Yes, he’s the quintessential bad boy, a member of the Devils MC- who is haunted by a painful past. But he’s also caring, protective and kind. These two had an intense chemistry that simmered off the pages. The really are perfect together. But when the secrets of the past are revealed, and danger comes calling, threatening everything, will they ever have any chance at happiness? This is definitely a story you won’t want to miss!

Blind the Eyes is the first book in the Threads of Dreams Series by K.A Wiggins. This is a wonderfully imaginative and original YA fantasy. It has paranormal elements, as well as post-apocalyptic touches, and a distinct dystopian feel. There is humour, drama and a touch of darkness to the story- which added an extra layer of interest. The author has a definite poetic/lyrical to her writing which gave the story a bit more of an impact on the reader. There were a lot of characters and the story has a lot happening in it. The book is intricately detailed, descriptive and quite complex. Ms. Wiggins continues to weave her world throughout the story. But, because of all these factors, there were some parts that did feel a little busy, or somewhat rushed. I was intrigued by this adventure and thought this was a great introduction to Ms. Wiggins work, and a creative way to start a new series. I would read the next book/s, to see where the author takes us.

This is my first read from India Kells and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. I will most definitely be reading more/all of her books from now on. This story is a HOT, fun, flirty, suspenseful, dramatic and gripping- full of danger, action, chemistry, 2nd chances, secrets, twists, fear, betrayal, and romance. This book is a real page turner, I couldn’t put it down and ended up devouring it in only a few hours. The story was really well written and has a multi-layered and complex storyline that was deftly woven into an exciting and incredibly entertaining read. There were a lot of funny quips and banter which help to lighten the emotional moments and the highly charged situations that occurred throughout the story. I loved Zoe and Archer and I loved the way Ms. Kells developed her characters, they were all fantastic and very interesting (even the baddies)- because they pulled me further and further into the story, as I NEEDED to know what would happen. Ms. Kells developed a brilliant and suspenseful storyline which included a deadly game of cat and mouse, perilous situations, an evil mastermind, lots of secrets, difficult choices, shocking revelations, electrifying chemistry… and so much more! I really recommend this story! You are sure to love it just as much as I have. I can’t wait to read Kai and Izzy’s story next- Book #3 in the Dark Sparrow series. Superb!

Violet Blood is the fourth and final book in the Murder in Savannah Series by Lindsay Marie Miller. This is a Young Adult story- with suspense, mystery, drama, emotion, and a little romance. I have really enjoyed reading this series- following Addie and Tom on their adventures, through all the intrigue, dangers and twisting storyline. I was both excited to find out how this story concludes, but disappointed that the journey has come to an end. The other three books are really great, and I do recommend reading them before you dive into this book, because there is a lot of information in those books that will elevate your whole reading experience here. Having said that, Ms. Miller has definitely saved the best till last! Addie and Tom are still coming to grips with what happened- the events at the end of the last book left them distraught and the future they had planned, in tatters. The unexpected twist and shocking developments in the last couple of chapters of book #3, really shook the story up and I really couldn’t wait to discover how it all played out. So, I jumped right in as soon as this book hit my kindle, to join Tom and Addie again as their story concluded. Those events really could have broken them completely, but in a way it kind of made them stronger. But, unfortunately, the danger wasn’t over for them, as sinister plans targeted them once more. Would they survive this time? Or has their luck finally run out? And if they did survive, at what cost? Would there be a HEA for these young lovebirds? This is a complex storyline that had more twists and turns and surprising developments, which pulled me in and had me on the edge of the seat trying to discover where the story was heading and what would happen. Ms. Miller kept me guessing- and I spent a lot of the time trying to figure everything out. Addie and Tom are really great characters, who were superbly crafted and quite endearing. I was impressed by their development and growth over the course of the series, maturing even more in this instalment. There were still a few frustrating moments when I would have loved to reach into the book and shake them both, but that just proves how invested I had become in them and their story. This book answered all the questions and tied up all the loose threads from the story/series. I loved how Ms. Miller finished the storyline off. This book really is a fitting end to a wonderful series. I am looking forward to seeing what come next!

Ok, this is definitely not what I was expecting! It was so much more! Better than I could ever have anticipated! The Jilted by Meghan O’Flynn is a brilliant paranormal story- full of suspense, drama, darkness, emotion, intensity, good vs evil, supernatural themes, and some elements of horror. I admit there were times I had my hands over my eyes- reading through the spaces between my fingers. I was on the edge of my seat, just about ready to jump out of my skin, wondering why I was still reading it because the story had really gotten under my skin- I couldn’t put it down, and I loved every unpredictable moment of it. I recommend going into this story somewhat ‘blind’ and allowing the author and story to blow-your-mind! But I will say that I started reading this at night, with only my reading lamp on, and as the night progressed and I became hyper aware of the story and every tiny little noise that was happening within a 2-mile radius, that I ended up with every light on in the house…. Awesome!

Starburner is the third and final book in the Moonburner Cycle series by Claire Luana. What a superb series this has been, and this story was a fitting ending to what has become one of my favourite series, ever! Starburner is a spellbinding, action packed fantasy that has magic, and a real heart and soul woven through the storyline. Ms. Luana has demonstrated her masterful world building talents by creating a unique, fascinating and believable world in which her story is set. As I said right from the beginning, the story/series seems to have a Japanese cultural influence and feel to it – in the names of people and places, and the addition of some Japanese folklore, and mythical creatures added an intrigue and mysteriousness to the book/series. Ms. Luana’s imaginative and wonderfully written story is quite textured and complex- with so many layers, all beautifully interwoven and stitched together seamlessly. This book has the ‘flavour’ of the other books, but I felt that it had a slightly darker tone to it- which added to the intrigue, in my eyes. The characters are unique, interesting, well thought out and fully developed. They were so enchanting, the whole cast of characters bought a real depth and added appeal to the story. I loved meeting new characters, as well as catching up with some old favourites. I loved how Ms. Luana made the stories ‘connect’- it’s very clever of her. While I am sad to leave this series and ‘world’ behind, I am incredibly excited to see what Ms. Luana does next- because if this series is anything to go by, it’s going to be brilliant! But with any great series, I am sure to revisit this one time and again- because great stories never fade away!

We Zombies is the third and final book in the Game Hunter series by Mark Kloss. This series has been an action-packed adventure that is a cross between the Hunger games and Warm Bodies meets the Running Man. We have followed the characters as they have battled through and are now set for a final dangerous showdown. I highly suggest reading the first two books in the series before you start this one- as there is a continuing storyline the you should know the details of, in order to have the best possible reading experience of the book/series. As we discovered in the first book, Tremayne and Red are teenage half-zombies who have got to survive a television show called Game Hunter- where the are pitted against professional hunters. After the events in the previous two books, the odds seem stacked against them and now the opposition always seems to be on step ahead and know their next move. With danger at an all time high, and their survival at stake- this book is quite an epic conclusion to this engrossing series. This story is a little darker than its team mates- with death, an uncertain future, danger, betrayal, dramas, and surprising developments keep me adhered to the pages. So, if like me you need to know how this epic adventure concludes, or if you love well written and action-packed dystopian quests, then this really is the book for you!

Imagine being an artist who could only see a few colours. We get to explore that concept, and much more, in this original story. ‘Chasing Roy G. Biv’ is the first book in the Broken Worlds series by Grace Templeton. An intriguing title for an interesting and unique book. This is a dystopian story that has some sci-fi elements, fantasy, drama, good world building, and well-crafted characters. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Templeton, and I was curious about it, because of its unusual title- I needed to know what it meant/was about. I was drawn into the complex story, which had quite a lot going on in it. While, for the most part, the story was easy to follow- there were parts that were quite ‘busy’ and just a little confusing. Rose Thomas lives in a world where seeing all the colours of the spectrum is not a birthright. All the people here can only see limited colours- to be able to see more, they need to find their soulmate, who will enable them to see and complete their full colour range. But, there is a time limit for finding their soulmate- so, if they haven’t found one by the time they turn thirty, they are then ‘eliminated’. Rose is an art student, who despite her handicap, manages quite well. She also works part time in the gift shop at the art museum. She hasn’t connected to anyone yet- and at twenty-one, her time to do so is diminishing. Quite unexpectedly she is drawn to not just one person, but seven other people. This is where the story gets interesting. As this is the first book in the series, I am intrigued by where the author will take the story in the second book.

Tesoro by Nicole Banks is an addictive mafia romance by Nicole Banks. It really grabbed me right from the beginning, with some of the best chemistry between lead characters that I have read. Their attraction was palpable, and sparks flew right off the pages. But it wasn’t just the chemistry that kept me turning the pages- the story is beautifully written, with so many wonderful elements blended together into this captivating read- so many secrets and lies that were cleverly sprinkled into the storyline, hidden agenda, loyalty, betrayal, romance, drama, suspense, tension, action danger, mystery, brilliant quips, funny banter, verbal jousting, and much more- all went into making this an unforgettable read. The characters really were so well developed too, with their own quirks, flaws and personalities. Naila and Tommy were very endearing, and it was easy to get emotionally invested in them and their story. The secondary characters were just as carefully crafted, and were either extremely likeable, or perfectly detestable. This book gives us multiple points of view, and it took me a little bit to get used to having several POV’s play out, sometimes, on the same page. While there is nothing wrong with that perse- it’s not a style that I am used to – but once I got my head around that fairly early on in the book, it ceased being an issue. The storyline is left on somewhat of a cliff-hanger at the end, I was a little panicked because there isn’t mention of another book- but, THERE BETTER BE ANOTHER BOOK!! I have unanswered questions that I NEED to know the answers to. So, I will be pouncing on any, and all, of Ms. Banks new releases- hoping for a continuation to this storyline. Bellissimo!

The Patient is An Iris Williams and Annette Toni Novel by R.G. Miller. This is a very suspenseful crime thriller. This is the fifth book of Mr. Miller’s that I have read, and having enjoyed his previous books, I was intrigued by what he would do with this story. The book follows Detectives Iris Williams and Annette Toni, who we met in the other four books, as they take on this latest case. Iris and Annette are not only work partners, but partners in life and love. They have been through quite a lot together, especially after the events of the last book. Iris gave birth to their daughter and has accepted her new role as mother. Toni on the other hand has had difficulty in coming to terms with parenthood. This book explores more of their ‘personal’ life- as well as taking us on another mind-bending investigation. This book is suspenseful, gripping and completely delivers and intense mystery, dramatic developments, and gripping intrigue. It is a worthy addition to the series and I am looking forward to the next book!

Fire to Dragon is the third book in the Red Slaves Series by Tonya Cannariato. As this is the third book in a series, with a continuing storyline, so I highly recommend reading the whole series in the correct sequence to get all the relevant backstory, character information and important details- all of which will enrich your reading experience of this book. The Red Slaves series is a fantastic paranormal/fantasy- that has plenty of action, danger, drama, magic, dragons, romance, mystique, and intrigue. A lot has happened since book 1. Anne has had to come to grips with quite a lot of changes, responsibility, and discoveries. There is a lot riding on her getting things ‘right’. I really have enjoyed this series, and Ms. Cannariato’s interesting take on Dragon Lore. She has a flare for original and imaginative stories that are dynamic and enthralling. After book #2, I couldn’t wait to dive right into this book and see where she takes the storyline and I must say that I think this is the best of the bunch, so far! I hope there are more books in the pipeline.

Dino is the first second book in the Glass City Hearts Series by Desiree Lafawn. I really enjoyed reading the first book in the series, Gabe- so I knew I had to read this one too. I have mentioned before that I have read all Ms. Lafawn’s books so far and I am really impressed at how easily she can slip from one genre to another. From Paranormal romance to romantic comedy, she can do it all, producing excellent stories that keep you hooked right till the end. I must admit that I wasn’t really sure that I would like this book because even though Dino intrigued me in the first book, I didn’t particularly like him, or Jeanette for that matter. But I had to see what Ms. Lafawn would do with the story, and I am really glad that I did, because she won me over- and by the end of the book I loved everything about Dino and Jeanette, and their story. This book could be read as a standalone, but as the series has recurring characters, I highly recommend reading book one before starting on this one- just to get a better perspective of the characters- not to mention that it’s a brilliant book in its own right. This book seemed to be a little more emotional and suspenseful than the first one, to me. With secrets on both sides, Dino and Jeanette have their work cut out for them. There is danger, twists and surprising developments that had me flying over the words, reading as fast as I could, to find out what was going on. The story has a great pace and a smooth flow. It is told from alternating POV’s- Jeanette and Dino’s,-so we get a really great balance of perspectives, thoughts and feelings. The story is really well written, and so easy to read as Ms. Lafawn has a sexy, engaging and descriptive style to her writing that just draws you in and leaves you wanting to dive into her next book ASAP. So, bring on “Jesse”: Glass City Hearts Book #3!!

Kinky Briefs Cinque by Seelie Kay is a collection of short stories, all revolving around lawyers- and all the fascinating and kinky fantasy situations that we can imagine, or I guess view on adult sites, fuckedtube.xxx as an example. There are steamy moments, fun and laughter- sexy, sensual and passionate details that may melt your kindle- as well as some heartbreaking and emotional scenes. Every story has its own feel, tone and flavour- but every one is interesting and entertaining in it’s own right. The only thing that I felt was an issue was that some of the stories could have done with being just a little longer, as there were times it felt a bit rushed, or cut short. The stories in the collection are:
Honor Thy Father. This was a great read that I would be interested in reading a full-length version of. We meet Marianne Benson Ali (Mari) an International Law Attorney and her swoony husband Sheikh Harun Ali, who fight terrorism, also supporting the victims left after a terrorist strike. This has put a target on their back, and in this story, there is a new threat that targets their family.
The Stripper and the Professor. Sandy is a law student who desperately needs to find a way to earn her tuition money that’s due or be forced to leave. She finds a job at the “Blue Moon” Gentleman’s Club, where she is guaranteed to earn la large amount of quick, easy money. Only problem is at her debut, she spots one of her law professors in the audience, no doubt drawn in after seeing videos of Gentleman’s clubs on www.porn7.xxx – or the fictional equivalent. Will he recognise her? What happens if he does?
Hanging from A Ledge. Law professor Janet MacLachlan and Agent Cade Matthews are married- but there is a lot more to their relationship than meets the eye. This is a great little story full of action, danger and drama. It’s a sexy undercover spy story, that would make a great TV series.
The Sixth Plane. Here we get something quite different. A paranormal story that explores a very interesting notion. There are sexy dreams, erotic details, some dom/sub elements, extrasensory gifts, an alternate universe- and all set against the backdrop of Lawyerlandia. Intriguing, and definitely worth the read.
When One Door Closes, Another Opens. “Love has a way of seeking out those who need it the most.” This is a heartbreaking and emotional read- it allows us a glimpse at the life of a woman coming to terms with the loss of her beloved husband. Where she must choose whether she wants to ‘live’ again after her shattering loss. Whether to embrace a new beginning and maybe get a second chance.
A Renaissance Romp. A Renaissance Fair where serving wench Gloria gets man- handled by one of the customers. A story with a bit of a twist. Fun, flirty, sexy- with a time travel element.
Stay with Me. I really liked this story, it’s one of my favourites from the collection. It looks at the choices we make that lead us to where we are, but what about the paths we don’t take? This story is sweet, romantic, passionate and different. Ally Kirkland is a law student in the process of studying for the bar. She gets an unexpected phone call which has her revisiting the past. What happens turns her world upside down. A wonderful second chances/Rockstar romance story.
My Men. Three law students embark on a Ménage that will test their relationship, their trust, and so much more. Join Mallory, Matt and Jeff in this M/F/M story.
Marrying the Devil. Laura McClintock is engaged to a sexy, devil of a man- but he’s a pussycat compared to her future mother in law. His Mother has hi-jacked the wedding planning, interfering and causing trouble. When push comes to shove and Laura has reached her limits, will her devil see her point- or side with his controlling mother?
Fatigue. A story that follows attorney Katia who suffers from MS. Her grueling schedule is putting her health at risk- and putting added strain on her relationship with her husband Jon. She’s tired of being tired, and really needs to find a better way to deal with it all. What does she decide?
There is something here to suit everyone. A quick, easy read for a day at the beach, or for a lazy day curled up on the couch.

Lie to Me: An Expose on Sex for Money by Lynda Filler is a surprising read. There was a lot more between the covers than I had imagined. I was expecting an expose on sex for money, a journalistic hard facts and investigative piece- but what I got was so much more- it’s a woman’s fiction/ romance, wrapped around real-life situations which gives it a believable and relatable quality, which helped to deliver a deeper and more complex story than the book first appears. This is my first read from Ms. Filler and after reading this book, it definitely won’t be my last. The author did a wonderful job in infusing her story with emotion, I was quickly invested in these wonderful characters and their story. The story is brought to life with vivid and descriptive imagery. I felt like I was right there along with the characters. A sexy, engaging, interesting and thought provoking read that tugged at my heart-strings. Bravo!

Donut Be Shy is a Men of Lakeview story by F.G Adams. It is a sweet, sexy, fun, light-hearted novella- and is a super quick, funny and spicy story that you could easily finish before bed. Ms. Adams is on my ‘must read’ list and I was interested to see something a little different from her. I loved Tanner and Amy, they are great characters and very easy to like and root for. Tanner is sexy and strong- he’s determined to win Amy over and I admire how persistent he was, especially since Amy wasn’t making things easy for him. I think Amy and I would be great friends. I recommend this delightful book to anyone wanting a quick, sweet, romantic and sexy read. It won’t disappoint!

Tightrope by Maddie Wade is a brilliant story that had me hooked right from the beginning. This is one of those books that has so much more happening in it than you expect. This is a clever, complex story that has surprising developments that you don’t see coming, but will keep you flipping the pages to find out what is going on. I have loved Ms. Wade’s Fortis Security series, so I was excited to find that this new story was out, and I had a lot of expectation for what I would find when I began reading. This is a story that I recommend going into ‘blind’- and let the author take you on a surprising and captivating journey. The story does end in a cliff-hanger and is set to continue in the next book- which I can’t wait to get my hands on! Well done!

Wild Poppy is another wonderful addition to the Wildflowers series by Vivian Winslow. I am really enjoying this series so far, the characters are so beautifully crafted, complex and fully realised individuals who bring these fantastic stories to life. This story is captivating, sexy, steamy and intriguing- although Ms. Winslow really put her character/s through the wringer in this book. I love Poppy, she’s beautiful, strong and determined. A lot of people in her situation may have given up, but her strength of character gave her the drive/determination to overcome her difficulties. I enjoy the surprises and unpredictability of Ms. Winslow’s stories and the way she is able to easily coax me further and further into her story- making me not want to miss a minute of it, and needing to know what happens. This story is set to continue in the next book- and I can’t wait to find out what happens! Sublime!

It Will Always Be Us is the third book in the Fitz Series from the supreme storyteller Theresa Sederholt. It is a clever and thrilling suspense that has some drama, mystery danger, secrets, betrayal, action…. and so many more intriguing elements, that I was completely engrossed in the story by the end of the first chapter. This story could be read as a standalone- but, I really do recommend reading the first two books before embarking on this one, as they lay down some of the framework for the series, as well as introducing all the recurring characters- all of which really sets you up to get the best out of your reading experience, not just of this book but the overall series. As I have come to expect from Ms. Sederholt, the story is quite complex, where we get multiple points of view, as well as some twists and surprising developments- making it feel like we’re getting a whole lot more story than first meets the eye. Ms. Sederholt masterfully choreographs all the elements into a fast paced, thrilling, and seamless read. Having read the first two books and loving them as much as I have, I really had some high expectations for this story- so, I am really happy to say that Ms. Sederholt didn’t disappoint, delivering everything I could have hoped for, and then some. It’s really hard to pick my favourite from the three books so far, because they really are so fantastic, but I think this one has managed to get ahead of the other two, just. There is a brilliant puzzle to unravel in this story, with epic tension and intense suspense, I spent most of the time on the edge of my seat, holding my breath as the story played out. As with the other books, this really is an emotionally charged and gripping read- and a very worthy addition to this first-rate series. Fitz, who we met in the previous books, has been called in to help a widowed mother of three, to figure out the puzzle that her husband’s death has created. Things just don’t add up, and Fitz has a bad feeling that things aren’t going to end well. Danger is a lot closer than they realise and lives are on the line. What did her husband get himself into? Can Fitz figure it out before it’s too late? Once again Ms. Sederholt kept me completely spellbound with this gripping tale. I loved following along with Fitz on this investigation, putting all the pieces of the puzzle together and trying to figure out what was going on. I also loved catching up with all the characters from the first book- his loving, close-knit and supportive family (although somewhat quirky) and work colleagues, really are such wonderful characters. I am in awe of Ms. Sederholt’s creative abilities, and how she manages to produce such incredibly well written stories, every time, and making it seem effortless. This is one of my all-time favourite series, from an author on my must-read list. Now I really can’t wait to get my hands on her next book. It can’t come soon enough!

‘The Dead of Winter’ is the second book in the Seasons of Jefferson Series by Julie Solano and Tracy Justice. This book continues on from the events in ‘When Fall Breaks’ (Book #1) and really needs to be read after the first book to really get all the relevant details, character information and an understanding of the storyline, so you can have the best possible reading experience of this book. The story has drama, heartache, intrigue, difficult circumstances, tested relationship/s, and more. I enjoyed the first book and dived right into this one as soon as I had finished it. I had some expectations for this story and I am pleased to say that this book is every bit as good as the first. This story takes a look at true to life characters dealing with real issues and situations- which makes the story realistic, believable and entirely relatable. This is definitely not a fluffy, hearts and flowers read- this story is raw and intense in parts. These characters were all really well developed and interesting. There was edge of my seat moments, emotional scenes, highs and lows, twists and surprising developments. It is told from several points of view, which added an extra element of interest for me. The story has a great pace and is a smooth and easy read. A great second instalment in the series- now for book #3.

Blood to Fire is the second book in the Red Slaves Series by Tonya Cannariato. This is a fantastic paranormal/fantasy- with action, danger, drama, magic, dragons, KGB, romance, and intrigue. Being the second book in the series, and having a continuing storyline, I really recommend reading the first story before jumping into this one. As with the first book, this story had so much going on in it. I loved the authors descriptive style and her attention to detail. She is a superb storyteller, with a flare for unique and memorable storylines. This book picks up after the events in the previous book. Anne and Ivan are still coming to terms with what happened and are still learning about/how to control their powerful abilities. I really loved these characters, although Anne did frustrate me at times with her though processes and denial. This story had more surprises in store too, which made for captivating reading. This is a dragon lore/Dragon story lover’s dream- with a difference that will keep you hooked till the end! Looking forward to Book #3!

Where There’s Hope is the second book in the Well Paired Series by Marianne Rice. This is a contemporary romance- about second chances, forgiveness, redemption, responsibility, and finding love. This is my first book by Ms. Rice, but it certainly won’t be my last. This book can be read as a standalone, which is what I did, but I will definitely be going back to read the first book now, too. Hope Windward has managed to make a comfortable life for herself and her daughter. She is a strong, independent single parent who has done a wonderful job raising her daughter on her own after tragedy struck. Now the man responsible for upending their lives is back in town, which makes her angry- she’s not happy to have him there. Cameron Smithfield has spent 10 years in prison paying for what he did. Now he wants to atone for what happened by becoming the best uncle he can for his niece. He holds a lot of pain and grief over the event that shattered so many lives. He hopes that he will get a chance to prove himself. But what happens when feelings develop? Will she ever be able to forgive him for what happened? Will she admit her own feelings? When the time comes, and doubts arise, will she trust in him? This is a very enjoyable, steamy story that I am happy to recommend as a great feelgood story with a few surprises. I am looking forward to reading more of Ms. Rice’s work.

White Horse Slave is the stunning debut novel by Rett Tyler. I was incredibly intrigued by the cover and blurb of this book and decided that I really had to read it- I am really happy that I took the plunge. This story really has so much going on in it but is so wonderfully woven that all the elements blend together into a smooth and addictive read. Ms. Tyler has a bold and powerful style to her writing that grabs you and holds you in the story from beginning to end. I couldn’t put this book down- I was so invested in the character/s and the story that I HAD to find out what happens. I ended up devouring it in an evening and came away with my mind blown. This book has all the intrigue, suspense, drama and mystery you could every want in a story- and the psychological aspect to this story is incredibly well done. Although the subject matter could be considered disturbing and heavy- the author hasn’t sensationalized or glorified it in any way, but has given a raw and honest look at a shocking situation. This is emotional, funny, heartbreaking, shocking, and riveting- all rolled into a superb story. The characters are complicated, really well developed and somewhat quirky individuals who really bring this story alive. I was so invested in Rhiannon/Trinity’s story and was rooting for her the whole way thorough. She did frustrate me at times with her very negative view of herself, and the finality to some of her thoughts. But, I could understand why she was like that, after everything she had been through. Her inner dialogue was quite heartbreaking at times, and her disturbing little rhymes really gave another perspective to her mental state. I loved Ethan, he is divine. But I think there is a whole lot more to him than we have been shown here. The ending had my jaw on the ground….. OMG!!! I NEED the next book NOW!!! I really have to know what happens- I hope there isn’t too long to wait.

The Brute by Tarrah Anders is a fantastic twist on the Beauty and the Beast story. It is a fun, sexy story that I really enjoyed reading. Isabella becomes the assistant to a beast of a boss- he’s abrupt, bitter, and difficult. He hasn’t been able to keep an admin assistant. What happens when Isabella walks into his life? Will she change to way he sees the world? Another great romantic story from Ms. Anders! She didn’t disappoint with this great story. I can’t wait to see what she does next!

Holding on to Hurt by Charlotte Roth is a page turning drama. This emotional tear jerker was full of tragedy, anger, grief, hope, belief, unconditional love, determination, sacrifice, gripping details, unsettling revelations, strength, and hope. Again, Ms. Roth showcases what a versatile and talented author she is in this captivating read. Irene Hurt gets the news that every parent dreads hearing, that her son has been injured and is in a coma. Her once perfect world is shattered in an instant and we follow as she and her husband both deal with their son’s situation quite differently. Right from the start, Irene remains hopeful- she stays be his side talking to him, telling stories, and hoping that on some level he is aware of what’s going on. But her husbands perspective isn’t so positive, and this puts a strain on their relationship. Dealing with the shock, grief, anger and stress of the situation is further complicated with new discoveries and unsettling revelations. What ensues made for a very engrossing, heart wrenching, thought provoking and unforgettable read! A word of warning though- have tissues on hand, you WILL need them! Brilliant!

Beaver Blunder is the third book in The Slip series by Gwyn McNamee. This series has been such a refreshing and fun reading experience. This is a series of romantic comedies- where all the stories are all original, very humorous, witty, incredibly HOT and steamy. I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, so my expectations for this book were quite high. Ms. McNamee didn’t disappoint and has once again delivered a fantastic story that I devoured in one very easy sitting. Madeline Ryan is a criminal attorney who is rushing to court one morning and slips on the wet floor. She ends up on the floor with her skirt up over her head, on the one day she isn’t wearing underwear. Embarrassing. Mortifying. This will make her the talk of the courthouse and may ruin not only her reputation, but also her career. The one person who comes to her aid is infuriatingly bossy and incredibly sexy. Owen Grant is a civil attorney who happens to be at the courthouse when a beautiful woman takes a fall on the slippery floors. He can’t help feeling concern for her, especially under the circumstances. She comes off as abrasive and feisty. But he sees through her prickly armour and won’t let her push him away. What ensues make for wonderfully funny, romantic and very sexy reading. Ms. McNamee and her stories are definitely on my one-click list. I cannot recommend her, or her work, highly enough!! I really looking forward to seeing what she does next!

Keep Happy is the first book in the Silvervale Second Chance Romance series by A.C Bextor. Once again Ms. Bextor delivers a superb story, that tugs at your heart strings and shows what a versatile and talented author she really is. Katherine Morris met Mason Cole when she was 12 years old. They developed a firm friendship, the more time they spent together, the more their feelings developed. But circumstances forced Mason to move away, leaving them both devastated. She does her best to live her life, but its never quite the same without him. She marries and has two adorable daughters. Her marriage isn’t what she had hoped. She is unhappy, and her cheating husband only adds to her woes. Then Mason returns to town and old feelings come rushing back. What does fate have in store for them? What about her marriage? Will they get their second chance at happiness, together? This is a great story, with wonderful, complex and conflicted characters. My heart ached for what they had been through and I was rooting for them the whole way through. The story has a great pace and a smooth flow. Its told from a duel POV, and the story moves seamlessly from past to present perspectives, to give us a better understanding of events. I will definitely be reading more of Ms. Bextor’s fantastic books. I wonder what she has got for us next?

Looking for Trouble is the fifth instalment in the Rogue Series by Lara Ward Cosio. The Rogue series is one of the best Rockstar romance series that I have had the pleasure of reading. I think I’m drawn to the series not only by the authors superb writing skills- but because of the characters she has created. These are not your ‘typical’ Rockstar romance stories, there is so much more going on in each book. These are not sweet, fluffy reads, these books are much deeper, somewhat raw and gritty stories that pluck at your heart-strings and take you on a journey that will be hard to forget. If you haven’t read the rest of the series, you are seriously missing out. This book could be read as a standalone, but as this storyline plays out in the same timeframe as the previous book, Finding Rhythm- so there are references and details revealed here that occur/occurred in that book. So, if you intend to read the series, I highly suggest reading all the books in their correct sequence, before embarking on this read. The information contained in those books will set you up in a better position to fully appreciate this fantastic story. I loved how supportive the band is towards Danny. It made for some real heart-warming moments. Although the topic of addiction could be considered quite heavy reading- but this story proves to be uplifting and inspiring. The sensitive subject/s are handled in an honest, realistic and insightful way. There were scenes that made my heart ache for what Danny had been through, and there were a few tears along the way. There were also touching moments and a few laughs as well. Having the characters from the previous books make appearances in this story was like revisiting old friends- and I loved catching up with them and seeing what’s happening in their lives, too. Ms. Ward Cosio deserves a standing ovation for this story- she certainly exceeded all my expectations. This instalment has a different tone/mood/flavour than the other books in the series but is such a worthy and wonderful addition to the collection, and my favourite of them all! That ending made me want to continue reading, I had tears in my eyes and while I thought how fitting that ending was for the story- at the same time I didn’t want it to end, I wanted to turn the page, go on to the next chapter/s and find out every new detail. I am really looking forward to Ms. Ward Cosio’s next book!

The Front Range Butcher is book six (and the seventh instalment) in the Jarvis Mann Detective series, by R. Weir. This is a fantastic detective story, with lots of mystery, suspense, danger, a serial killer investigation, intrigue, tension, and action. We have met Jarvis Mann in the previous books- and I just love this character and the series as a whole, so much. This book brings Jarvis his most dangerous and testing case yet. When a serial killer is back in action after a couple of decades, Jarvis is tasked with the investigation which will test him like never before, bringing lots of danger, as well as pitting him against a cold and calculating killer. In a race against time before the killer can strike again, with secrets, and hidden agendas- will Jarvis be able to bring closure to the case, once and for all? Mr. Weir has out done himself yet again! This is such a superb story that held me in its grip from beginning to end. It is a complex and multi-layered storyline, which Mr. Weir expertly choreographed into a smooth and gripping tale. This has just taken the top spot as my favourite of the series, so far! I can’t wait to read the next book “Mann in the Crossfire”! Brilliant!

Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington is a phenomenally good story. It is such a beautiful, emotional, and moving story that left me a blubbering wreck. It broke me and then pieced me back together again. I read it a week ago and I have tears in my eyes again now as I write this review, thinking about it how much it touched me. It is a story that will stay with me for a very long time, and one I will go back and read many times over the years. I am having trouble doing this book the justice it deserves- and I don’t want to spoil it by giving too much away. I highly recommend diving in blind and let the story wash over you- you really won’t regret it…. As with Ms. Thomas Harrington’s previous book “The Point”- this is definitely one of those stories that you don’t expect to have such a connection to, or one that would have such a powerful effect on your emotions, but it will definitely leave its mark on you. I will warn you though before you start reading, to make sure you have LOTS of tissues on hand, because you WILL need them. Ms. Thomas Harrington is an exceptional storyteller whose work I will always be happy to read. I wonder what she has in store for us next?

Showtime is the second book in the Game Hunter series by Mark Kloss. This Book is a zombie story with a difference. It is a Dystopian/paranormal/ Zombie story- with some action, drama, mystery, and humour. The story is very original- and entirely entertaining. It is a fun read, and really gave me the feel of ‘Hunger Games’ meets ‘The Running Man’ meets ‘Warm Bodies’. Tremayne, Red and the team training and planning for the Game Hunter TV show. There is a lot at stake and failure will have deadly consequences. They are pitted against professional game hunters, where their chances of success seem minimal at best. Who can they trust? Will they outwit the professionals and beat them at their own game? Mr. Kloss is a new-to-me author and I am really pleased that I took a chance on this book. This is such a great action-packed adventure- Mr. Kloss takes zombie lore and gives us his own unique spin on it and weaves a great story in the process. The characters were well developed, complex and likeable- they each had their own unique characteristics, quirks and flaws. I loved the banter between Tremayne and Red, and the camaraderie of the group. Bring on book three!
