What a wonderful story! Sadie and Mitchell are adorable in their attraction for each other. Sadie’s group of “soul sisters” are a very eclectic bunch. Mitchell jumps to protect Sadie when he hears that she is on trouble. Her store may be haunted? Noises and disembodied voices calling her name? Is it ghosts? Mitchell is determined to find out! A story of learning to trust in others and to trust that you can do anything as long as you start true to yourself.

In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety (Book Two of the Cecily Taylor Series) by Krysten Lindsay Hager was a really good read! This book picks up right where the first one left off, so it definitely needs to be read in order. I really enjoyed the plotline and somewhat enjoyed the characters. I have the same issue I did with the first, that the characters acted very juvenile to me, and the stream of consciousness that Cecily the main character thinks makes me zone it sometimes. I love YA novels and this one was great, I just wish again that Cecily had more of a backbone when it comes to things. Overall this series is great and I have loved reading it!

Sadie Beauchamp is a crystal loving, holistic medicine performing, bangle and caftan wearing woman who is one of a group of friends who mean the world to each other, she also believes in spirituality and the life of a hippie, herbal teas and divining the future, however, when she goes to a palm reader to get a reading to do with the dreams and anxiety she has been having recently, however, when the reading is not a good one and she is given a warning and practically pushed out of the door, she finds that she cannot hide her fears from her friends anymore, especially when she announces she has to leave because of parts of herself she has kept secret for years.
As she talks about how she thinks her house is haunted and that she has demons chasing her, but practical as they are, the group immediately put a plan into action where they will take her to see a reputable doctor for a full health check, calling on Mitchell, the brother of one of the ladies as he has experience in investigations and solving problems. After eating and drinking, they finally convince her to spill the secrets she is so insistent on keeping close to her chest and the result is not what they expected in the slightest and they struggle to see how this information could be so dangerous to them, let alone Sadie herself, but she eventually agrees to Mitchell helping her out, despite the fact that he broke her heart the last time she saw him and they have no idea it even happened. Two days later and Sadie is at the airport picking Mitchell up, she is a bag of nerves and cannot deny that she is still attracted to him and that he makes her heart and boy do things she doesn’t want to and he insists on driving as she fills him in on the current situation.
When they get to her apartment, Mitchell insists on staying and investigating the things causing her anxiety, but much to Sadie’s horror, he moves the furniture out of place and proceeds to tell her that he will be sleeping in the same bed as her as well so that he can protect her. Will Mitchell be able to solve the mystery of her present, the conundrum of her past while she tries not to get her heart broken again? This is a romance with a dark twist which is as unpredictable as it is romantic, but will keep you hooked as you travel along Sadie’s path with her.

Miranda Blake is in her fifties and thought she had her life all sorted out, apart from being a bit klutzy, that is until her husband suddenly wants a divorce, her out of his life and their house within a couple of weeks while he is on a cruise they were meant to be going on together, talk about a bombshell! As he prepares to leave the house, she is equally panicked and angry, she hasn’t worked since she got married, she gave up things for him and he repays her by having an affair, but she does give him a piece of her mind, which he doesn’t expect, but the satisfaction for Miranda is just what she needed, until exhausted she collapses into the spare bed. The next morning, she wakes up feeling worse for wear, but better after a shower, until one of her best friends comes in, gun in hand and nearly shoots her when Miranda attacks her with a hairdryer, both are as surprised as the other but when Miranda explains the situation amid floods of tears and collapses into another exhausted sleep and wakes up with her other friends rallied around her and ready to help out any way that they can, including talking her through why they love her and giving her soon to be ex-husband the nickname of “Rat Bastard”.
As the deadline to leave her home advances, she gets some advice and more help from her friends as they talk about what needs to happen for the divorce to happen and then after packing up her belongings, they discover that they need to take her shopping as he owns everything, including the clothes on her back. As the impromptu shopping trip starts to slow down and the ladies hit Starbucks, they insist that she does a catwalk strut, but when she tries, her klutzy nature comes to the fore and her new heels get stuck in a hole in the sidewalk and she stumbles face first into the lap of an extremely handsome man, much to her embarrassment., but it proceeded to become a horror show when she used his sensitive parts as leverage when she tried to get up which led to her falling back on her rear end all over again. This incident doesn’t stop him from introducing himself, asking for her number and promptly asking her out to dinner the next day and yet again her friends rally round and help her to get ready for her first date in years. As the drink and conversation flow, they get on well and when she blurts out that she needs a job, he says he will see what he can do when he casually name drops that he has a brother who owns the company he also works for and when his brother goes past them and introduces himself, she is a little lost for words and at the end of the night, she doesn’t know which of the two she would prefer.
As the ladies gossip and demand the details from the date as they work on her resume so it is ready when he calls her a few days later and says that a position has opened up as an executive secretary and has set up an interview for her as he thinks that she will be perfect for the position and she does get it, as the lady she is replacing is about to give birth. As she is settling in to her new role, she overhears some conversation she isn’t overly happy about, but she isn’t in any position to challenge, or change, however, when the boss steps in and helps her out with it, she realises that she is going to have to figure out what shape the future is going to take and is asked to move to be his assistant when the one she has stepped in for returns after her maternity leave, this leads to her helping to organise an important fundraiser and while she is at the mall looking at things in person, she has to pop to the bathroom to avoid being caught while overhearing another conversation, however, when she comes out and tries to ignore the sales assistant hailing her, she runs into the boss whom she was just listening to, but her inability not to embarrass herself comes crashing in when she realises that she has been mooning the entire mall and while trying to put her clothing back into place, another unfortunate incident involving her underwear happens. Will Miranda ever be able to get through a situation without embarrassing or injuring herself, or will this nature be her undoing? Will she be able to get through the divorce without anything else getting in the way, or will disaster strike again and her choices be taken out of her hands? This is a romance in an unusual generation which makes it even more humorous as it is romantic and will keep you entertained all the way through and wanting to know more about the adventures of this group of friends at the end.
Revelations by Izzibella Beau is the first book in the Separate Worlds series. This is an interesting YA Fantasy story with two great characters right at the heart of it. I was drawn into the story from the moment I started reading by the writing style. The author has created an imaginative story and one that I could picture so easily. Zack and Emily just added to this. I wanted to know more about the mystery that seemed to surround them and see where their journey would lead. This is a relatively new author to me but I already know I will be reading more from her in the future. I enjoy everything about her books and find them exciting to read. I am looking forward to book 2 already.
This is the second book in the young adult series by this author. And I found it to be the perfect follow up from the previous book. I enjoyed reading this book as much as I did the first one. I am in love with these characters and their relationships because I find their story to be very relatable to life. Even life as an adult with the ups and downs of relationships. I have always found these young adult stories to be my favorite genre because they are good, clean fun books but the stories deal with anxiety, love, and drama. Not to mention there is always twists and turns along the way to keep me on the edge of my seat. I think that this is a perfect book, well series, for all female teens to read today. I think that they will find it relatable in many ways I think because they are pushed so hard by their family, friends and even their own selves to be better. However, sometimes all of that pushing is too much for them and what they really need is time to figure things out on their own to make their own decisions in life.

Jinxed is the second book in the Hell on Heels series. Sadie is well, Sadie. She is in touch with the world around her, but she is completely clueless about what she needs. When her world turns upside down, Sadie must stop running from her past. These stories are so amazing! This group of friends is full of strong, unique women who know that family is not always blood. I cannot wait for the next book!

The first installment in the Hell on Heels series by Maggie Adams is a hoot! Minx is a romantic comedy jam-packed with laughs, tears, and relatable situations. The protagonist, Miranda Blake, is a middle-aged wife who has centered her life around her family for the last twenty five years. When she suddenly finds her world flipped upside down, she must rely on her best friends for help. The characters are real and relatable and the story is engaging. I found this to be an easy read as I became invested in the characters and what was going to happen next. I recommend Minx with 4 out of 5 stars, and will be looking forward to reading the next installment.

I previously read the first installment of Hell on Heels and enjoyed it. I loved this one even more. My only complaint about this book is that it is too short! This is a fun, easy-to-read story that contains steamy romance and witty characters. Sadie, our protagonist, is a healer and is concerned that she’s being haunted. She relies on her “soul sisters” (who were introduced in book 1 of the series) for guidance; however, one of them has a brother, Mitchell who just so happens to be Sadie’s complete opposite. She wants nothing to do with him, but the universe obviously has different plans. The dialogue between characters is witty, and this keeps up the pace of the story which definitely makes it a page-turner. I recommend this book if you are looking for a quick and light-hearted, but steamy, read. This 5 star book will not disappoint.

This is a very hard listening and so emotional. I adore Quinn she’s a survivors and with the information from Stone she is seeking revenge.
Why has she got this attraction to Stone its get harder to avoid as time goes on. I can’t wait to listen the last book in this trilogy.

To Be a Fae Queen by Tricia Copeland is a very interesting take on the faerie stories, though I was not expecting the story to be about a Titania and Oberon that were not THE Titania and Oberon that end up ruling over the Seelie court together. The pacing at times felt a bit awkward, there would be an event that would happen but would not get talked about and I would have to go back to see if they had even finished the event or if it was going to be continued later. Other than that, I did really enjoy the story of Titania coming into her own power and faith of herself as she deals with anxiety and having lost most of her family, it can be seen in a very inspiring way. It was also very fun to see it bring in witches and vampires into the storyline to bring those genres together. I do always enjoy watching characters go from one type of life and must adjust into another type of life very suddenly. This is recommended if you enjoy anything faerie related.

This is number 10 in the Ash Park Series and it is just as captivating as the others. All these books can be read as standalone bool but I would recommend reading them in order so you get the full backstory of the characters.This book is dark and dangerous and is a story you can’t put down.

This is the second book I’ve read by Adams. Jinxed is another great read and I loved every minute of it. This is a short read.
Sadie has been running from her past for twenty years. When things are going wrong she turns to her friends. When one friend calls in her brother things seem to get worse. The quote I chose for Sadie is: “If that’s true, I have to find out what’s in that vaccine and fix it before the final trials. If I can’t, then I have to shut them down.”
Mitchell is a retired FBI Agent. When his sister calls saying that she needs him there he goes. When he finds out that Sadie is the one in trouble he really helps. The quote I chose for Mitchell is: “That child just about kicked my a** a minute ago! And I was getting the information we needed.”

This is the first book I’ve had the chance of reading by Adams. Minx is an amazing read and I can’t wait for the next book.

Key West Dead is the sixth book in Mark Nolan’s Jake Wolfe series. This book finds Jake and Cody in Key West, Florida and, as the title suggests, people die. There’s a crime to solve, and the stakes are high as the killer continues planting and detonating bombs. Cody is a great character, and this is another story where his talented nose is in high demand. We also see Cody, as well as Jake, dealing with their PTSD as well as the ongoing traumatic events. It doesn’t help that what was meant to be a nice, relaxed holiday has turned into a life-threatening case. It was good to see more of Sarah in this book as well! Although often sent off with friend Alicia while Jake and Cody are investigating, she gets in on the action as well as showing her openness to adventure and skills in handling a boat. For me, this is a four-star book in an enjoyable series. The Florida setting is fun – made me feel like I was on holiday! I’d recommend the series to mystery and crime fans who like canine characters as much as humans.

In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety is the second book in The Cecily Taylor Series by Krysten Lindsay Hager. I highly recommend reading this series in order as this picks up where the first book left off. This was a quick read for me considering I couldn’t put it down till I finished I had to know what was going to happen next. Cecily feels like she has it all, the boyfriend , best friend and a great job. Her best friend starts to ditch her more and more and she’s trying to adjust to her relationship with Andrew. This relationship is new to her considering she’s never had one quite like it before. But what will happen when she see a photo of Andrew with another girl? Will her world come crashing down around her? Will thete relationship be strong enough? Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Both Love is What You Bake of it and Love by Design are contemporary romances following a pair of sisters and their quest for love and professional success despite their sometimes stifling and meddling family. But it wouldn’t be a Kammenou novel without a delve into the past, or the references to mouth-watering foods.
Effie Kammenou is a first-generation Greek-American who lives on Long Island with her husband and daughters. When she’s not writing or posting recipes on her food blog, aptly named Cheffie’s Kitchen, you can find her entertaining family and friends or traveling for ‘research.’
As an avid cook and baker, a skill she learned from watching her Athenian mother, she incorporated traditional Greek family recipes throughout the books for a little extra ‘flavor.’
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts from Hofstra University.

This book is about a woman that is starting a new job as a secretary and a CEO. She has decided that she will not date in the office anymore so tries to fight her feelings for the hero. They end up having a meet cute in the sense that she has to take the boss to her first day of work and ends up sitting on a strangers lap, turns out the stranger is the CEO of the company. He wants to have a relationship with her, even goes as far as to invite her to lunch and not tell her who he is until afterwards, he figured out where she was starting and hide it.

This epic fantasy read kept me up feeling all kinds of emotions! Titania is the fearless character everyone loves to read about. Having to decide what is best for her and the kingdom is not an easy task. I love how the author ties in real life complications in a fae world. I also love Tricia Copelands descriptions of the fae world and their traditions! I will definitely be reading more from this author!

If you’re looking for something cute and relatively light, overall, this is a great choice. A few times, the book seems to move way too fast, and other times, it moves way too slowly, and some of the character relationships seem a little two-dimensional. However, overall, the main character has some interesting challenges she has to overcome. Though I did feel that I was somewhat “tossed into the world,” with very little explanation as to what was and wasn’t allowed to happen, you definitely pick it up fairly quickly. It’s a fun little adventure that I found myself captivated by, despite some of the things I thought I maybe didn’t like.

I was so excited to finally get the 2nd book in this series. I had to see where things were going for Cecily and Andrew. They have decided to give a relationship a try, but now he has to get back to work. Cecily is starting to have some anxiety about the distance between them. They have such a great connection between them, will they be able to make things work?
Of course there is a twist that will make Cecily question their relationship. In the middle of all this Cecily starts working on her modeling/acting career, being in the video got her some attention. The author does a great job with her writing and you feel like you’re right there with them. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story, I really love Gran. I absolutely love this series, this author, all the characters. They just feel like coming home when I turn that first page. Getting to know Throttle, Peg’s son, was bittersweet as Peg was my first introduction to the Satan’s Devils and with the second generation series, I couldn’t wait to see his kiddos! As always this author weaves a story that takes you to the highest highs and lowest lows to get you to the end and I enjoy every agonizing minute! Bring on more!

To Be a Fae Queen is the first book in The Realm Chronicles by Tricia Copeland. This epic fantasy adventure is centered around a 15-year-old princess Titania, who is forced to take on the throne after the death of her three brothers. Her father trains her in weaponry, music, books and history making her a well-rounded capable woman. But, when the real calamity hits, he stonewalls his daughter and entrusts his army to trace the enemy. But when the army fails, Titania has to take the responsibility on herself to find this new enemy who is responsible of stealing something very valuable which belongs to her and her father. This is a coming-of-age adventure princess story filled with action, mystery and danger. Titania is a very fiery heroine, though I did feel her character is a bit too mature for the age. The challenges she faces are grave and the obstacles many. The crown comes with a hefty price to pay. How Titania embraces all these challenges forms a very captivating plot and I am looking forward for more of her adventures in the coming books.

In Plain Sight is the 3rd book in The Broken Bow Series written by Ashley A Quinn. This book is about a young man named Mason who is found hiding in Rayna’s field one fall evening while she is harvesting crops to sell at the farmers market. She quickly figures out that Mason needs help but he is distrustful of the police or being taken to the hospital. Rayna calls Thomas, her ex boyfriend who is the local vet to help with some of Mason’s injuries. Soon after Thomas gets involved helping Mason, they figure out that Mason is a victim of child trafficking. Rayna & Thomas are both caring adults and know people that can help Mason and hopefully find the other kids that we’re held captive at the same location. This book got my attention pretty quickly. Not only are the characters well thought out but I felt like I was transported into the story. I know child trafficking is a hard thing for many of us to read about but this was written well and got me thinking.
