I without a doubt LOVED this book. I cannot wait to read the next one. Effie Kammenou is a first time author for me on this book, she did AMAZING! It’s such a cute book and so sweet. I couldn’t get enough. I even showed my son there were recipe’s in my book and now we have to make some of them! This is the story for Kally and Max, both characters were so well built, I felt like their friend :). Everyone in this book has their time to show personality and I couldn’t put it down. Kally is a pastry chef who wants nothing more in life than her dog Emma and her cafe. Max is a police man who just wants to start over in his hometown. Will these two learn that they need each other, or ruin it with their pasts blocking their future? Read to find out what happens, I promise you won’t be disappointed. If I could give 10 stars this would have gotten them.

Pastry chefs have a very special place in my heart, my older daughter is one and I know the work and dedication it takes to be successful. Kally has worked extremely hard to have a successful business and the pride she has in that comes through.
Max is starting over in his hometown. He got my respect early on when I found out a little more about him and as I learned more my respect for him grew. He is definitely the type of guy any parent would be happy to see their daughter bring home.
I believe it’s the little details that add so much to a book and Ms. Kammenou did a great job with the little details about each of the characters and their stories. I really loved learning a little more about the Greek culture and cuisine and I look forward to getting to know the Andarakis family more and watch each of them develop and grow.

What a great read! I loved this book and the characters in it. Kally and Max both bring a lot to the table separately and their story just hooked me and didn’t let me go. I really felt like i was in the book with them and Max’s daughter, I loved her from the instant we met her. This book really has it all and I will be reading more from this author in the future.

Love Is What You Bake Of It by Effie Kammenou was a great novel! Loved the characters, story line, everything about it drew me in and held me. Baking/romance stories are also so interesting to me. Love Is What You Bake Of It is the first book in the Meraki series by Effie Kammanou. Effie Kammenou is a brand new author to me and I’m now wishing that I had discovered her work sooner as I absolutely loved this book. In this book Kallyope (Kally) Andarakis is loving life as the proud owner of coffee shop ‘The Coffee Klatch’. She has a wonderful, supportive, if not a bit overbearing, family who she adores. One thing she doesn’t have is the love of a good man. Having struggled to get over the loss of a man she loved years previously, she has sworn off men. Max Vardaxis has moved back home with his young daughter Athena following the tragic loss of her mother. He wants to start a new life for him and Athena and provide her with some stability in her life. That certainly does not include a woman. Well, that is until he comes face to face with Kally. This is a great romance story that has so much packed into it’s pages. It takes us back to the past to witness events from years ago, not just for Kally and Max but also other family members whose stories are essential to add to the plot of this one. The story is very well written with a great flowing storyline and really great, realistic characters who all add so much to the story. Max and Kally’s story will provide laughs and tears and drag so many emotions from you. As with any true romance, the path does not go smoothly. There are misunderstandings between the 2 and also parts of their pasts that come back to cause problems. I’d definitely recommend that you read this book if you like a good romance novel.

Adorable character, Kally Andarakis sweeps us off our feet as she’s heavily indebted in her cafe business, The Coffee Klatch. Kally never believed she deserved love or the happiness it brings. That is until she meets an addictive stranger who is above her means but he comes with challenges. Kally is heartbroken and ill-trusting after some secrets are revealed during a misadventure. Eight years down line, we find Kally living the life as it is as perfect as she’s always dreamed of. That’s when she meets Max Vardaxis, an unexpected stranger, others bring her life into a tailspin from meddling relatives arguing back and forth to an energized grandma. Kally is also trying to solve the mystery of what happened to her grandfather while balancing Max is a whole other story. In this book we find out if Kally is to take another risk (all for love) or shut it down as she’s done in the past. I enjoyed reading this one. So many unexpected and unpredictable turns. Kally’s life is as unpredictable as ours is in reality. Juicy read. Another page-turner. I may have to re-read it!

I have read quite a few books by this author now and what always has me coming back to her is her beautifully detailed writing. Her stories have such a lovely flow to them that are a real pleasure to read. I didn’t even bother reading the blurb when I decided to read this book; the title caught my eye straight away. Love is What You Bake of it was a wonderful romance read. I loved the characters Kally and Max (aka Officer Hot Buns) they were great to read about and both really relatable. The book kind of reminded me of one of my favourite films with the Greek family parts – there were some very entertaining secondary characters. There were some very funny moments in this story and I absolutely loved every minute of it. I think this is definitely my favourite book by this author so far! I look forward to more from her again in the future!!

I really enjoyed this story. I especially liked the recipes in it as the story went along.
Kally has been burnt and hurt by love in the past. She vows never to let anyone get that close again. She has her own home, a successful business in her little cafe selling delicious treats and coffee. What else could she want?
Until the day Max walks into her life. Max has had problems in his past too but no matter how much Kally pushes him away he is drawn to her.
Can they both recover from their pasts and will Kally be able to trust someone with her heart again.
I loved this book. The characters are likeable and relatable. It also brings into it cultural references to Greek families and the way they interact which was nice to learn about.

Love Is What You Bake Of It is the first book in a wonderful new series, “Meraki”, by Effie Kammenou. I really loved Ms. Kammenou’s “Gift Saga”, so it was no question that I was going to read this book. I happily one-clicked a copy for myself and jumped right in. It is different from the Gift Saga stories- in a great way- still the same well written and polished product, and with Greek characters that just jumped off the pages- but with a more light-hearted, humorous and fun story. This story has a lot going on in it, but doesn’t feel ‘heavy’ or overly complicated. It is primarily, a contemporary romance- with interesting and entertaining family dynamics, some suspense, love, humour, hope, mystery, secrets, and of course- baking. Kally has been burned by love in the past, which has tainted her view on love and relationships. She has poured all her time, energy, and passion into pursuing her dreams- focusing on her café perfecting her baking. She’s built a great life for herself and she is happy with where she is in life. Then Max walks into her life, bringing complications she will need to address. Will she let down her barriers and take a chance on love again? Or will her tainted view on love, and the revelation of secrets keep her from opening her heart? I really enjoyed this story. It had a bit of a “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” feel to the story- which I loved, but with its own unique identity. I loved the wonderfully quirky characters who really made this story come to life. There is no question, I will definitely be following the rest of the series! A fun read!

This is my first book by this author. I love how deeply we get Into the characters and their lives. The story was great! It easily kept me entertained and really surprised me now and then. The little sayings on the aprons is genius! I liked it at the beginning. But it was carried throughout the story which makes it lovely. I enjoyed each of the characters. There is a lot because…Greek family :). I liked Max a lot. He seems genuine. He has completely changed his life and his devotion (his would not give up attitude) is inspiring.
Overall this is a wonderfully book. I liked the story and the characters. Some more than others. The secondary characters really added to the story. Best Friends can really help make a story come alive and that’s what happened in here.

I loved reading the story Love is What You Bake of it (The Meraki Series Book 1) by Effie Kammenou. It is a story that pulled me in and didn’t let me go until the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Kally Andarakis and Max Vardaxis. Kally loves to bake and it is shown by the way she runs her café, The Coffee Klatch. She is independent, strong, and caring. She also has been affected by the past which left her unable to trust. Max is attracted to Kally from the moment that he meets her. He soon can’t stop thinking about her. Kally is satisfied with the love of family and friends. She is content with her life until she meets Max. Will Max convince Kally that he is worth taking a chance on? What does the future hold for Kally and Max? Read this book to find out. This is a story that made my emotions go up and down the entire time I was reading it. I grew to care about Kally and Max and couldn’t help but want them to be happy. I also enjoyed the many additional characters that are introduced and interact with Kally and Max. This story is about love, romance, and family. It has some heartbreaking as well as heartwarming moments. It had me wondering what was going to happen next. There are also humorous moments that had me laughing. This is an amazing story that I would recommend reading.

Love is What you Bake of it by Effie Kammenou a five-star feast of a read. This is the first novel in the Meraki series and my first by this author, and I will be eager to read the rest of the series as this one did have a couple of dips and undercooked bits, but overall was a nice solid and sweet bake and left a lovely after reading taste. Kally was a great character, I immediately warmed to her and loved her aprons and the café, you could almost smell the coffee beans in the air. The Coffee Klatch just sounded like a great place to be, and Max well he sounded like the kind of man you could be proud of in his amazing uniform, even if he doesn’t feel like people should be proud of him. This was a great story and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into number two to see what flavour that one will be.

This was a cute story by Effie Kammenou. Her plot line is great and she paints a picture with her descriptive details. Her characters are sound and complex. I feel like I am right there with Kally. It is funny to read about the character family members and how they are meddlers. Kally is a successful woman. Then Max comes into her bakery. Her life is a little more difficult now that Max has come into her bakery. I recommend you read this story to find out about Kally’s decision.

This is not my first book by this author but it is my favorite. It is a sweet second chance romance that is written with lots of heart and soul. The characters are well developed and made the story feel realistic. I had no problem connecting with them and could easily see them as friends. Kally has loved and lost, now she feels she is unworthy of love until he walks into her life. Content with her business, she wonders about Max and if he is worth it all? I enjoyed watching them grow together throughout the story plus their chemistry is great. Will Kally take a risk at love again? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens with them.

I have to admit, I wasn’t sure what to think when I started this series. It gives you a look into alternate lifestyle in an honest, respectful way. Sarah and James know what they want and it seems that while they want each other, they want different things in life they cant give one another. This series takes you through their struggle with them. And its amazing. An eye opening experience with a talented author!

The Mountains Trilogy is a great 5 star read from the Mountains series. I was pulled right in and really like all of the characters in each of these books.
Book 1: Mountains Wanted Sarah is a professor and a single mom. When she meets Jame’s she is immediately attracted to him and they have a great connection. And we get some steamy moments from them. Sarah struggles with how to tell Jame’s her secret. How will he react, will he understand? All of the secondary characters were great, I loved Sarah’s best friend, she was a hoot. I had several LOL moments, especially when her son would ask her questions. We get a cliffhanger that leads into book 2. Thankfully this is a trilogy so you don’t have to wait to find out what happens.
Book 2: Mountains Climbed We move forward with Sarah’s story. She has revealed her lifestyle and is a very loving person. James has been deployed and moved on. Sarah is broken hearted and ends up meeting someone new. They both struggle with moving forward. There is so much more to this read, I don’t want to give anything away. I will say that my emotions were all over the place.
Book 3 – Mountains Loved This book tested my feelings for Sarah at times. I didn’t always agree with her decisions on things. We see a change in Sarah’s behavior, not what we are used to seeing in the previous books. It shows that she’s human. James was another one that pushed my buttons as well. I don’t want to go into detail on this with the risk of giving things away. I will just say 1-click and get started on this great series so you can understand my feelings.
Overall this is a great series and I really enjoy all of the characters. I look forward to reading more from the series and this author. Your emotions will be all over the place and we get some very steamy moments. Thank you Phoebe Alexander for a great read.

The Mountains Series Box Set includes the first three books of the amazing love story of Sarah and James. It’s a “military romance” but with very different twists and turns like I’ve never quite encountered within the same story and author. Normally to get this kind of steamy romance, I need a few different authors to surprise me but Phoebe DELIVERS. I absolutely LOVE this author and the fact that with every single book she had me blushing and looking around to see if anyone noticed. This reason and multiple others is why I keep coming back to her! In my opinion you absolutely have to read all three of these books in order, and READ THEM. Such an amazing box set.

We are introduced to some incredible characters that really bring the story to life, we are taken along on their journey, we get to see their relationship grow and develop while also going through their ups and downs, and challenges they face, the connections they make and the chemistry they have. Phoebe Alexander has created three reads that flow effortlessly from book to book. Each book is just as captivating as the last if not more and leave you wanting more! This series will have you lurking series after series. Each book takes you on a journey through the relationship of Dr. S. Lynde and Sgt. James McAllister. The doctor is as open-minded about her sexuality as they come but isn’t looking for a relationship when she runs into the sergeant who changes her mind about that and life as she knows it in book one. In the second series of book two, the reader is in for a book full of shocks and surprises about both characters’ lives. New characters are introduced and so are the twists and turns. In this book, we develop more of an in-depth look into the main character’s lives as they navigate their new love lives. Finally in the final book of this trilogy, we’re still rooting for the couple as they face new experiences in their lives but with new tests. Pick up this trilogy and you won’t be disappointed in the way the author keeps you transfixed on this series alone. I can’t say how much I appreciate this author’s writing and the characters we’ve come to adore. In conclusion, pick these books up if you want to be entertained and for a good time any time. You won’t regret it!

This is an amazing series of books following the story of James and Sarah.
James and Sarah meet and start their relationship as friends with benefits. Before they realise what is happening they fall in love and Sarah shows James a lifestyle he never imagined before. Having and loving more than on partner at a time. However, as much as they love each other James decides he wants to settle down with someone who has his family values and beliefs so he proposes to his childhood sweetheart leaving Sarah heartbroken.
But no matter how hard they try they are drawn together. Can they have a happily ever after or are some mountains to high to climb.
I loved this series and i fell in love with the characters. I was completely drawn into their lives sharing their joy and feeling their pains.

The Mountains Trilogy (Mountains #1-3) by Phoebe Alexander. First and foremost, I absolutely LOVE this author! Ms. Alexander writes in a way that makes you feel like you are actually in the story as you are reading. This boxed set will give you everything you need, love and hate about James and Sarah. Mountains Wanted, Mountains Climbed and Mountains Loved will have you falling in love, crying and so extremely happy that you decided to read these three AMAZING books!!! WONDERFUL JOB PHOEBE ALEXANDER!!!!

I love Phoebe Alexander and her writing. Her books are 100% original but bring the realist problems to the table. They are filled with such raw emotion and heat! I devoured this series in no time! James and Sarah were amazing characters and the struggles they faced were real. I loved reading the issues these chapters faced and seeing how much they grew within the three books. This is the perfect read for a weekend binge!

Mountains Loved by Phoebe Alexander is the third book in the Mountains series. This is the continuation of the story of James and Sarah. The first three books have to be read in order because the story is ongoing between the three books. The pair has faced many hardships. There are times where I was tearing up and other times I wanted to strangle the characters. There is a whole range of emotions and yet I did not want to put the book down. This is a fantastic continuation of a series. I am looking forward to more of the books in the series.

If you haven’t read this or added this to your TBR pile, you definitely should be doing that RIGHT NOW! This is the second series that I have read from phoebe Alexander and I can say that she is quickly becoming one of my favorite romance authors. The way she writes is phenomenal and the emotion she packs into all of her books is just unbelievable. I was not disappointed in the least little bit while reading any of these books. Mountains Wanted (book 1): The characters in this book were all so charming and precious. The chemistry between the different couples was remarkable. I felt like I truly knew them, as if they were my personal friends. Sarah is a very smart and open minded individual. I love the relationships that she develops throughout the book, especially her deep attachment to James. Throughout the struggles of their rocky start, I understood why Sarah would feel so connected to James while they were together and so distant while they were apart. It was fun watching their relationship grow. Sarah’s best friend, Rachel, is just a peach. She speaks her mind without a filter and I love it… she takes this book to a whole new level. She is witty, funny, and really balances Sarah out. Mountains Climbed (book 2): The characters from the 1st book are still in this one as are some new characters. Of course, I love all of the original characters and I was thrilled to see they were still there. At this point I would say that Sarah and James have kind of tried to part ways, He is deployed overseas and is wanting to settle down with someone else. Meanwhile, Sarah is broken hearted and just trying to feel like a person again. While out trying to live her life, she meets a young man named Garett Stone. He is charming, good looking, and a great distraction from the pain in her life. I desperately wanted to like Garett… but he just made it so hard to do so. Sarah ended up being hurt… again. I wanted so much for her to be happy. The push and pull of the relationship that she and James share this slightly frustrating. However I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I understand both of their struggles, uncertainty, and desire. I feel as if they share a connection that many people don’t get to experience in life. I was over the moon reading the ending to this book! Mountains Loved (book 3): This book is the continuation of the story about James and Sarah. From the very first page of book one I was absorbed in the love story with these two. I was thrilled that things finally worked out for them as a couple as I was fighting for them all along. Sarah finally has her happy ending. Or what she thought was her happy ending. However, marriage and adult life is sometimes not as simple as it seems to be. The happy couple struggles with many heart wrenching things, like fertility issues, trust issues, and the decision to open their relationship back up or not. I felt the heartache myself, as if it were me who was the one suffering through these terrible things. There were several times throughout this book I wanted to punch James directly in the face… but I knew Sarah, who is the voice of reason in the relationship, would get it all straightened out. I also felt sadness in my soul when there were points brought up about how quickly your children grow up. But I will say that every emotion I felt while on the roller coaster of reading this book was so worth the beautiful ending.

I loved these books!! Reading James and Sarah’s story was emotional, entertaining, informative, fun and so many more adjectives that I can’t think of. We got introduced to them in the first book, Mountains Wanted and that’s when I became hooked. I became completely invested in these characters, they are so different from one another, I was anxious to see where it was headed. The next book, Mountains Climbed introduced us to new characters and also kept us wondering what was going to happen with James and Sarah. Although these two are so different in their relationship views, we found the heart wants what the heart wants, but is that enough? That is why I needed to read the third book Mountains Loved to find out. These books were so exceptionally written that I didn’t want to put them down. Phoebe Alexander is a wonderful writer and I can’t wait to read more books from her, I know I won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend these books.

Mountains Loved is the third book in the Mountains series written by Phoebe Alexander. As usual, I cannot say enough good things about this author and her style of writing… she is just phenomenal. Also, per usual, I will say that you need to read this series in the order that it was written. This is the continuation of the story about James and Sarah. From the very first page of book one I was absorbed in the love story with these two. I was thrilled that things finally worked out for them as a couple as I was fighting for them all along. Some of the things in this book were hard to read (regarding infertility issues and miscarriages) so it may not be suitable for everyone. I felt the heartache myself, as if it were me who was the one suffering through these terrible things. I also felt sadness in my soul when there were points brought up about how quickly your children grow up. But I will say that every emotion I felt while on the roller coaster of reading this book was so worth the beautiful ending. I will forever be a Phoebe fan and will seek to get my hands on anything that she has written.

Sarah and James have finally come back together, but it’s not without issues. They have fought hard to get to a point where they can be together openly and without judgment from each other. With both of them dealing with internal battles, it doesn’t help that they’re dealing with outside influences that threaten to break them apart for good. With every challenge they face, the emotional toll gets higher and higher.
This book has so many intense moments that made me want to scream and yell at them both! When things are good for them their love is so beautiful, its what love should be. But with all that good, there was so much more hurt than the two previous books in my opinion. Their journey is beautiful, heartbreaking, and downright hot. It’s hard not to feel a deep connection to these characters thanks to the way the author celebrated her muse and wrote an amazing story. I can’t wait to see who will get their own book next!
