Beneath the Surface (A Gray Ghost Novel 3) by Amy Mckinley – Review by Heidi Eich Woodring

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beneath the Surface, book three in the Gray Ghost novel series, by Amy McKinley. This amazing read was filled with love, suspense, and mystery in one. From page one till the end the book kept me engaged and I did not want to put it down. The main characters, Hannah and Jack were such a delight to read about. Hannah, strong and independent to Jack who shows that he truly wants to help those that feel lost and so alone.

Hannah finds herself and her boss on a hijacked plane carrying a secret weapon, finally sees that this is her time to no longer be a sleeper agent. Mike, who is on a mission to recover the weapon refuses to leave his ex Hannah behind. So many things point to Hannah being a traitor Jack must decide whom to trust but in the end it could be his career that he kills.

This book kept me guessing till the last page and I love that about this series and this author. McKinleys books have always been ones that I needed and wanted to finish in one sitting. I give this read 5 stars and highly recommend this book and her whole series!

Rhapsody and Rebellion (Enduring Legacy #7)

Rhapsody and Rebellion by Aubrey Wynne

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rhapsody and Rebellion: (Once upon a Widow), written by Aubrey Wynne, is the 7th book in the Enduring Legacy Series. This book is a historical romance, and the first I read in this series, and I LOVED IT. I found myself lost in the world of Gideon and Alisabeth. Alisabeth lost her love and then a month later Gideon comes to town and awakens something so deep inside her. Gideon leads his life people proper and never straying until a dream his mother has changes thing. These two are so drawn to eachother but the guilt that Alisabeth carries is almost too much for her but the desire also takes play into the road of Gideon and Alisabeth. Once Gideon finds out about the rebellion he needs to fight not just for country but for the one who holds his heart.

The author truly puts you in the book, in the story with a storyline you get lost in. You can close yours and see the era and also feel what the two main characters feel each step of the way. Being as this is the first book in the series and also the first by this author, I am jumping in and reading this whole story. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Redemption by Meghan O’Flynn is book five and the last in the Ash Park series. I have spent so much time in Ash Park, and I am sad this moving, engrossing, mystery filled, series has come to an end. O’ Flynn was able to grab me from book one till this book. Each book getting better and better and this ONE truly blew me out of the water. The crime coming back to haunt Detective Petrosky, connection to the Looking Glass Killer bringing up so much while Petrosky still dealing with his grief and must finally put this case to rest SOLVED! There are times I want to slap Petrosky but this book, showed me again shows me just how much I have grown to love him. He is a broken down man who has had to deal with such pain and tragedy. This man and all his grief are thrown into a case and investigation that will make him face his past and his pain HEAD ON!

Mari has this writing style, a way to create characters that you want to be or know, and a storyline that simply just draws you in. Degrees of Innocence (Prestian Series, #1)Degrees of Innocence by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Degrees of Innocence by Via Mari is the first book in the Prestian Series and a read that I was really able to lose myself in. Via Mari was able to give readers a book with pleasure, intrigue, erotic encounters, and such suspense you are drawn in from page one. This was the first book by this author and I can say it sure won’t be my last. The characters are strong and very easy to get attached to, the writing OUT OF THIS WORLD, and a story line that is very believable. I know that now I can not wait to read the rest in this series and get more from Chase and Katarina and see what wonderfulness Mari has in store in this series!

Meghan O’Flynns, Hidden is book four in the in Ash Park Novel Series. AND this BOOK gutted ME!!! I have read each book in this series and this one was vivid, hard, amazing, and gripped me in ways that I never thought a book could. I have spent so much time in Ash Park and this just shocked me. Fisher of Men (Eastern Shore Swingers Book One) By Phoebe Alexander – Review by Heidi Eich Woodring

Fisher of MenFisher of Men by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fisher of Men, Eastern Shore Swingers Book One, is written by Phoebe Alexander, this isn’t the first time I read a book by the author and will state this start to this series was an amazing read. The story follows Leah, who works at a hotel, The Pearl, and was brought up by her Christian parents whom they wanted her to follow them with speaking the word of Christian faith. Once given a scholarship and the need to see more of the world she took a leap and decided to study at Cornell and take the job at the Pearl. Leah meets Cap, Chris at an event at the hotel, and soon they begin dating. Her faith is torn when she learns that the party he attended was a swinger’s party, and it’s a lifestyle that Cap leads. She learns that behind the lovely Ocean city lies a swinger’s secret club, her world, her heart, and her faith is tested.

I could NOT put this book down, the ups and down truly held me into this book. I could close my eyes and see Leah and Cap, I could close my eyes and feel the emotions, and I could feel like I was right there in Ocean City. The attention too much emotions and details was spot on. I really felt like I was a part of Caps and Leah’s little world. I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a good erotic romance.

Repressed (Ash Park#3) By Meghan O’Flynn – Review by Heidi Eich Woodring

Repressed (Ash Park, #3)Repressed by Meghan O’Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Repressed By Meghan O’Flynn is volume three in the Ash Park Novel Series. And this by far is the best one that I have read. This book is true definition of a thriller, Very dark, twisted, and fully shows you, not everyone is who they appear to be. O’Flynn again gets down to the dirty so to speak by creating these amazing characters, giving us a mystery that we feel we are in the middle of, and hating when we see those we have grown to love in the series in danger. I just know that each time I get to visit Ash Park, I am never disappointed and always a book that I cannot put down! Another FIVE star read!
Morrison is freshly married and content with his life until an old addiction starts to take over his mind and show that the secrets from his past can’t always stay buried. When his wife and daughter come up missing and he learns this monster who truly wants him to suffer from sins he committed years ago. As time is working against him, he must face something he has tried so hard to forget, awakening a monster, to save those he loves.
Each book grabs you, and makes you want to read more about Ash Park, but for some reason this book stuck with me, even when I was done and put it down. If you are looking for a good read, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU!!

Moments That Define Us (Gray Ghost, #0.5) – Review by Heidi Eich Woodring

Moments That Define Us (Gray Ghost #0.5)Moments That Define Us by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Moments that Define Us by Amy McKinley is a Gray Ghost prequel, and WOW after already reading the first two books I wish I had read this beforehand. It really set things in my mind about what I had already read with the full books. This is a short read, but I will state that this book REALLY packs a punch and so many emotions in this story. This really shows that life isn’t always a bowl of cherries. This is the story of Jack and Jenni.
Five homeless guys living in abandoned building have become family and decide to protect the community in which they call home. When Jack isn’t protecting his home and community he spends his time with Jenni, who happens to be the sister of a local drug dealer. Now Jenni is caught in the middle, between her love of Jack and her love of her brother.
This book is POWERFUL and action packed, I recommend it to those that have already read the first two books in this series or to anyone wanting to dive into an amazing series. Amy McKinley really set the stage for a great read and a great series. I cannot wait to read MORE!

Every Breath You Take (Bayou Devils MC 3) By A.M. Myers – Review by Heidi Eich Woodring

Every Breath You Take (Bayou Devils MC 3)Every Breath You Take by A.M. Myers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Every Breath You Take by A.M. Myers is the 3rd book in Bayou Devils MC book, and by far my most favorite in this series. The strong female character, Tatum, is bold, outrageous, and takes no crap from anyone. She knows how to handle herself and has lived a life that always is not easy but she has not let that stop her from being herself. Add in Lincoln who truly knows how to take care of people he loves, he is the one made to stand by Tatum and handle her when she is at her best and at her worse. These characters are strong, and I know that I feel in love with reading their story. Adding in characters from the MC I adore because I get to know them while I read interactions with them all, I truly love this MC and what they do to help others that need it and show again not all MCs are bad.
Tatum losses her mother and as time goes by learns that her mother wasn’t always what she appeared to be and Lincoln after losing his father learned to step up and take care of his mother and sisters. When Lincoln has to watch over Tatum, an order given by his president, he must and right away he is drawn to her. It’s not long before her past and her mother’s past catch up to her and danger surrounds them both, Can both put the past behind them and leave the ghosts that haunt them there as well?

I truly love A.M. Myers writing style and as I read each book, I fall more in love with this MC. The love the passion they have for each other and the lives they all lead. I love that each book gives me characters that I want to continue to read more and more about. A.M. Myers, I simply love your series and I LOVE TATUM and LINCOLN! Another five star read!

Imagine feeling so safe, feeling like your past is behind you, UNTIL killings start happening. That is how Hannah felt in Ash Park, just outside Detroit. She tries to tell herself this isn’t tied to her until the killer takes the life of her boyfriend and the killings are centered on the shelter where she volunteers.
Famished by Meghan O’Flynn is the first book in the Ash Park series and let me tell you, this book was intense, this book had a plotline that drew you right in, and by the time I hit the last page I was wanting more and more. Conviction (An Ash Park Novel) by Meghan O’Flynn – Review By Heidi Eich Woodring

Conviction (Ash Park, #2)Conviction by Meghan O’Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Conviction by Meghan O’Flynn us the second book in the Ash Park Series, and let me tell you, this book really got to me on many levels. I was able to really identify with the lead in this book which is something I love when I read a book. Meghan really writes powerful books with strong, passionate characters, mystery to keep you reading more and more, and plots that are very believable. What I found very appealing is the way the author kept me guessing ALLL OF THE TIME! It what made me want to read more and more and get lost in the story.
Shannon, loves her job and loves getting crime off the streets of Ash Park. Being the Ash Park district attorney, it’s her job that she has a passion for. When evidence crosses her desk, showing someone she has convicted of a crime she may not have committed, she isn’t very happy. The girl convicted isn’t telling anything, and Shannon for sure knows she is hiding something but even with freedom hanging in front of her she can’t get her to talk. When Shannon is subjected to heinous messages, she knows what she has to do and again Ash Park is NOTHING As it seems!

Addicted to Love (Bayou Devils MC) By A.M. Myers – Review By Heidi Eich Woodring

Addicted to Love (Bayou Devils MC #2)Addicted to Love by A.M. Myers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Addicted to love by A.M. Myers is the second book in the Bayou Devils Mc book series. And let me tell you, this book did not disappoint AT ALL. This book touched something that happened to Carly when she was younger and that caused her to build walls in order to protect herself. That’s when Chance enters the picture. On the outside, he’s the bad, biker boy she knows she should stay away from but yet she is keeps being drawn to him, even when she pushes him away. Chance knew the second he saw Carly, she was it for him, and he will not ever give up on something he wants. When trouble hits Carly and her sister, only the Bayou Devils that can help and this brings Carly and Chance even closer.
I really loved this book and while I loved the first, this one took the cake! This book was intense, strong, and emotional! I could not stop, the twists and turns, the emotion, really shine through and again shows us WHAT AN AMAZING author A.M. Myers truly is. This five star read, truly is a MUST read!

The Eye of the Storm by Amy McKinley is the second book in the Gary Ghost Novel series, and let me tell you, this book was amazing! Reading the Blurb, I knew this book would be romance, and thrilling all in one and that drew me in before I even started reading. Then once I read, I was able to get lost a little more into the world of Chris and Mari. Chris and Mari both stumble on each other in the Jungle. Mari, lost but strong needs help and Chris lost and having no memory yet knows his way around to keep them safe. Being that they both NEED to trust each other, they embark in an adventure. Violet Blood (Murder in Savannah Book 4) – Review by Heidi Eich Woodring

Violet Blood (Murder in Savannah, #4)Violet Blood by Lindsay Marie Miller
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Violet Blood is the 4th book in the Murder in Savannah Series by Lindsay Marie Miller, and also the final book in this amazing series that I have grown to love. Following Addie and Tom, seeing them grow as characters in these book have been amazing. So many ups and downs have shaped them throughout this whole series. So many secrets have been ousted, so many discoveries along the way. The road to this book has not always been easy and sometimes very dangerous. The book again grabbed me and held me to the end just as the others before this one, but as I kept getting closer to the end, I dreaded it since I knew I would be saying goodbye to Addie and Tom.
Lindsay Marie Miller, you gave us an amazing series that I know I will read many times, because Addie and Tom grew on me and gave them an ending they deserve. I truly cannot wait to read more by this author.

Playing for Keeps (Playing Series Book 3) by Ashlie Knapp – Review by Heidi Eich Woodring

Playing for Keeps (Playing Series Book 3)Playing for Keeps by Ashlie Knapp
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Playing for Keeps is the third book in the Playing series by Ashlie Knapp. I loved this book because I am always drawn to the books where someone is on the run from a bad past and this one hit it home for me. While this book can be read as a standalone, characters from past books in this series do appear. I love how I am able to connect with the characters in this book and others in the series. Another great book in a great series.
Aria Cook might be the sassy and not a car in the world girl her friends and family see. Everyone sees what she wants them to see while she tends to her father’s bar and is a dancer for the Oklahoma City Thunders. What everyone doesn’t know or see is that she is running from a past that no matter how hard she tries she can’t escape. Then enter Trent, NBA star and the guy who doesn’t want anything other than to have fun. He cares about his career, his mother, and his sister. After a not to good date with Aria, he can’t walk away. He care about her and she can’t seem to get rid of him! What can happen to these two amazing characters, read and find out!
I loved this story.. From the guy who was a love and leave them, to Aria and her needing to get away from a past that haunts her. These characters are real and the story line draws you right in. I have to say this one is the best book I have read in the series. I love how Both Trent and Aria see what is blooming together as something so different and I love when things all start to come together. I give this book 4 stars and highly recommend not just this book but the series. This author truly has talent to draw you in and wanting more. I was able to read this book in one sitting and truly loved it, this is a book that I KNOW I will be reading again!

Enigma : The Final Chapter (Enigma #4) By Shandi Boyes – Review By Heidi Eich Woodring

Enigma: The Final Chapter (Enigma #4)Enigma: The Final Chapter by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Enigma: The final Chapter and book four and the LAST about Isaac was truly just another book by Boyes that I loved. I might have cried because this is the last about him, and I fell in love with each and every book about Isabella and him. Another book that draws you in and will hold your attention to the very end. I have to say this review will be harder for me to write because I do not want to give away any details.

We are shown again in this book that Isaac will protect those that he loves because when he loves, he loves with such a passion and such a force that it will blow your mind. We again see that Isabella is strong no matter what is thrown her way. Will you learn what Enigma really is? Will this couple that has grabbed our hearts make it through all the trails that have faced them? You must read to find these out but I will say be prepared again to read in one sitting because this book will grab you and not let you go.

I have never read a series about such strong, dedicated couple that clearly are meant to be together. I wish Isaac and Isabella could go on forever and ever because I really feel that there is so much more to learn about them both and the other characters. I have become fully addicted to the WHOLE series and plan to reread many time because they are that good and threw me into yet another book hangover. While yes many answers will be answered, you will want more and more but I have to give this book 5 stars and again say that Shandi has knocked it out of the park again. She is an extremely gifted author that I plan to follow. I see a future with this one because her books are those that captivate you, draw you in, and will stay with you always. Bravo Shandi on one of the best books I have ever read! Now I need to cry again, I love Isaac and will miss him terribly!

Enigma: The Mystery Unmasked (Enigma #3) By Shandi Boyes – Review by Heidi Eich Woodring

Enigma: The Mystery Unmasked (Enigma #3)Enigma: The Mystery Unmasked by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shandi Boyes, Enigma: The mystery unmasked, was simply just another amazing book about our favorite guy Isaac. Ever since time I pick up a Shandi Boyes book, I fall in love. But Isaacs’s story has stuck with me and he is the ultimate book boyfriend to me quickly removing many that have held that status. I never want her books to end, but let me tell ya the cliffhanger at the end will make ya get mad, but let me tell ya tell ya, it’s so WORTH IT!

Isabella continues to see so much good in Isaac and wants to clear his name even if that means she breaks her own heart to do so. She’s wants others to see the good in him and not just what people are hearing through rumors. Isaac is strong, determined, and wealthy and will always protect those that he loves. Isabella is HIS and he will protect her at all COSTS! Isabella is being told to stay away till his name is cleared and Isaac is also being told he also need to stay away till he clears his name.
Again, Boyes has given us a story to get lost in with amazing characters that you fall in love with even more as each book tells this story. Isabella truly is one of the BEST characters I have ever had the chance to read. I love that she is so beautiful yet she doesn’t see it, I love how her emotions make YOU FEEL. I cried a few times with this series and I have ever only cried to two book EVER! I loved that no matter what Isaac or Isabella was going through they had amazing support. A book that can make me mad, cry laugh and feel so much gets five starts and so wish I was able to give more. Shandi Boyes truly is one of the best authors I have read in so long and I CANT wait to read more from her. I highly recommend this book and ALL the others she has written. She draws you in and you WILL NOT be disappointed!

Enigma of Life (Enigma Book 1) by Shandi Boyes – Review By Heidi Eich Woodring

Enigma of Life (Enigma #1)Enigma of Life by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Enigma of Life by Shandi Boyes is Isaacs’s story and the 6th book in the Perception Series. I fall more and more in love with the characters each book and love Shandi even more as I am able to read these amazing books. This book is a part of a series and I recommend reading the WHOLE series. This has turned into one of my favorite rock and roll series and am to get completely lost in the books about some amazing and sexy bandmates. But out of all of these books, this one KNOCKED me on my BUTT and left such a mark in me. The only word I can use to describe this book is INTENSE!

Isaac, he is sexy, HOT, mysterious, and so hard to understand. He is NOT the one to being home to mom but the one all your fantasies are about and the one who will make you feel things you never have! Isabella lost her family and moved to a new town and has gotten a new job. She literally falls at his feet and is memorized by this guy. When they are thrown back into each other’s lives, Isabella is living two lives and carrying a huge secret that she hopes stay hidden. Isaac, there is something that draws you to him and he will be forever planted in your heart. Quickly you will see what I did, this is NOT your typical love story.

WOW, WOW, and even more WOW! Shandi Boyes hit this one out of the park and I cannot wait to read more on Isaac. I am completely in love with this character and want to know more and more. I have waited for his story and I am NOT disappointed in any way! He grabbed my heart and there is where he will stay. Shandi has this power to create strong stories and characters that will draw you in so much and make you able to finish a book in one sitting because you WANT and NEED to know how things end. I give this book five bright and huge stars and wish that I was able to give even more! BRAVO!!! I am hooked!

Beats of Life Perception Book 5 by Shandi Boyes – Review By Heidi Eich Wooding

Beats of Life (Perception #5)Beats of Life by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beats of Life by Shandi Boyes is the fifth books is the fifth book in the Perception Series, and WOW another book that will kick your socks off. While each book in this amazing series are great I have to say that this one ranks closer to the top. Nothing like a great rocker book and add in second chance romance to spice it up even more! SHANDI BOYES I have become addicted to RISE UP, the boys, and the girls that steal the hearts of these sexy guys that you have created for us.

Slaters life is the band! His brother, his bandmates, and his drums is all he needs. Add in the amazing life of a star, rock and roll, and groupies He is the bad boy drummer all the girls want to tame! Out of nowhere he comes face to face with Kylie, the one person he loved even more then his music. Two years ago Kylie left, completely gone and without a trace. Emily, needing an assistant for the upcoming tour, she asks Kylie, which at first she turns down. Once Slater sees that Kylie is struggling with money, he basically makes her take the job. Slater still angry, tells everyone to stay away and he does also, breaking her heart in the process. Thrown together a few times, they both open up and share an EPIC kiss. What will happen when Slater finds out why Kylie walked away, will he be able to forgive her tearing him apart? Will Kylie be able to love without holding back?

This book made me laugh, made my scream, and made me cry and I have to say that I enjoyed every single second of it. Each book in the series gets better and better. Each book I have been able to read in over a day but this one, I read in one sitting. While this can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend that you read all the books to understand the band and FULLY experience RISE UP! I give this book 5 stars and can’t wait to read more. I hate that at some point this series will stop, but the boys of RISE UP have left a mark in my heart and in my mind!

Player For Life, Perception Book 4 by Shandi Boyes – Review By Heidi Eich Woodring

Player of Life (Perception #4)Player of Life by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Player for Life by Shandi Boyes is the fourth book in the Perception Series. This series follows the band, Rise up, and its members. This story follows, Nick. Nick is the bad boy we all love and because of that, I have to say that this is the best book in this whole series. I love the cocky man Nick is but when he falls, he falls and it is amazing to read about it. Shandi Boyes again gives a book you can wrap yourself in and enjoy from beginning to end.

Nick is your typical player, cocky, headstrong, and thinks every female wants him. After getting caught sleeping with a band members girl, he needs time to really decide if he wants to remain the band. Enter Jenni, who wants to stay away from guys. She dated a player in the past and had her heart broken. Jenni doesn’t want to get hurt so she loves being with her friends and having fun. When Jenni meets Nick, she feels that all she attracts if players and tries very hard to stay away. Nick never has or wanted to get close to a female and Jenni breaks all his rules. Watching all the things these two have to face, and see that nothing will break this bond, makes this an even better read!

Shandi Boyes, truly did an amazing job and I loved that this book reached deeper levels then the other book. I loved how even with the strong attraction Nick and Jenni had, they tried so hard to remain friends. I am truly hooked on this series and in each you are able to get a look into what is going on with other members and their girlfriends. I give this book 5 stars and while yes this book can be read as a standalone, I think reading the other three books will help. This whole series is just wonderfully written and rock and roll romance that will leave you hooked and wanting more and more. WELL DONE SHANDI!!! This truly is an amazing rock and roll romance with heartache, drama, and craziness.

Fight For Life Perception Book 3 – Review By Heidi Eich Woodring

Fight of Life (Perception, #3)Fight of Life by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fight for life by Shandi Boyes is the third book in the Perception Series and unlike the other two can be read as a standalone. While I loved Noah and Emily from book 1 and 2, I have to say that this book was by far my favorite so far. Not just the characters but by the amazing way the author has written another 5 star book.

Jacob Walters, He is loveable with a huge heart. One look into his blue eyes, and he will steal your heart.
Lola, you love her or hate her. She is stubborn and set in her ways.

Get these two together and you have an amazing love story. Lola feels a connection with Jacob right away but she had been so hurt in the past that she guards her heart and her emotions. Jacob is drawn to her also, and wants to spend more time with her. They decide to remain friends which leads to years of off and on again between the both of them. All that Jacob wants to do is break down her walls and All’s Lola fears is what happens when he does break down these walls.

Shandi Boyes has done it yet again and has given us a book boyfriend you want all to yourself. While yes, this book can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the first two books in the series, as you will be able to read how Noah and Emily see Jacob and you will fall even more in love with him. I loved that Lola was stubborn and guarded but she was not weak like many other leading ladies are. She drew me into the book just as much as Jacob did. This whole series just gets better and better. I love the style in which the author gives us and the strong leading characters and also the supporting characters. I give this book 5 stars and recommend this WHOLE series. I honestly can say this has been one of my favorite series this year and I cannot wait to read more in this series and more from this author.
