TOXIC BLONDE is book 2 in The Delarosa Series and can be read as a stand-alone.
Johnny Delarosa is a private investigator and because this book is told in first person, I find myself narrating it in the old timey detective voice. Very noir in nature. There are layers and twists and suspense and everything that makes a detective series good.
This is an enjoyable read that was easy to follow and I definitely recommend it.

Toxic Blonde by David Stever a five-star read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is the second story in the Delarosa Series, and I have read them in order and enjoyed them that way, I would recommend you read them in order to get the most out of them. Johnny Delarosa is described in such a great way that he is exactly as you picture an old time PI, he keeps the story going. The suspense is done very well, it keeps you hooked all the way through. The action is powerful enough to keep you on your toes but not overdone to the point that it drives you mad. Overall a very well-done story and one you shouldn’t miss.

I have to say I am one of those that enjoys binge reading about as much as binging my favorite tv series or movies. I love finding box sets that affords me time to invest in the characters and immerse myself in a world that is created. I adore this box set from Renee Regent. This contains the first three books of the Higher Elevation series. Each story grasps you with its vivid descriptions of scenes and feelings. I found myself running through all the emotions as I read, sometimes choking back those tears and others giggling from the relevant humor dotted throughout. I have to say that book one was a tad slow to start so I was worried that I had made a bad decision with this set. Don’t hesitate if you feel the same. The books do start to pick up and I found myself saying this has to be my favorite from Renee Regent yet. I give these all an overall a 5 star rating. I can’t wait to see what will come next from the talented mind of Ms. Regent!
This is an amazing emotional story about how our past influences our future and could potentially ruin something thats meant to be.
Scarlett is a young woman who can allows anyone to get close to her. She has strict rules and one of them is that relationships only last for 6 months.
Nick is a hardworking single father. His past relationship has made it hard for him to trust but he is prepared to risk everything to keep Scarlett for longer than the 6 months.
He pushes her boundaries at every opportunity firstly by asking her to his works party, then by introducing his son to her.
Can Scarlett let her guards down and embrace this new relationship and love or is she so stubborn she will keep to her 6 month time limit no matter what.
Its an emotional story and really well written. You feel for both the characters and cant help cheering with them and crying with them.

This is a wonderful story. It’s the continuation of Brodie and Tails. The kids they rescued also play a large part in this book and their future. This book is filled with exciting rescues and is filled with hope. There also is that one evil character.
I enjoy reading these Paranormal stories from this author. Her writing is so easy to read and blends perfectly. Her characters are full of life and a joy to meet. I look forward to the next in the series.

I absolutely LOVED this book! These characters are written so well I feel like I know them and could hang out with them. I really just want to join their fun family for any reason 🙂 They made me laugh, tear up and giggle a time or two. Mostly though I sit here with a BIG smile on my face while reading. That’s total enjoyment for me out of this story.
I can’t get enough of this family. These brothers! I just love when they have out and offer advice to each other. They have such great banter which shows a wonderful relationship between them.
Ashely, Jennings, Taylor and Eric….I really *felt* for these characters. What they have gone through and survived..this is one tough story because it could have easily gone another way. I enjoyed the way the author told the story to make it all believable and have he say..”Yeah that could happen” Many times I was irritated at Ashely or Eric then to turn around and be irritated at something Jennings did. Next they would crack me up and we would start all over again. Taylor was just a wonderful sister and so happy most of the time.
I love this series and this author does a wonderful job on the story. The chemistry between Jennings and Ashley is WHITE HOT! Be beware! I liked how the Christmas theme was weaved throughout this story. It was all perfect! Next please!

Toxic Blonde is the 2nd book in the Johnny Delarosa Thriller Series by David Stever. I had loved the first book in the series and this one was even better. It is an action packed thriller that will grab you from the very beginning and have you on the edge of your seat right up to the very end. Stever sure knows how to write an amazing thriller. The story continually flows and is full of emotion, drama, suspense and intrigue. I could not put this book down. In this book Johnny thinks he has taken on another boring case proving that a husband is having an affair. In fact it turns out to be much, much more than that and Johnny ends up helping out the FBI in a case which also involves the Russian Mafia – a far cry from the boring cheating case he thought he had taken on. Again Johnny is helped out by his assistant Katie and Mike, his ex-partner when he was a cop, who he now owns a bar with. We are also introduced to Eric, a hacker, who has an outrageous personality. I really hope Eric continues to be part of the team in future books in this series as he added so much character to this book. If you enjoy an action packed thriller then this is definitely the book for you.

5 Star Higher Elevation Series: Books 1-3 by Renee Regent This is one of those series that once you start reading you don’t want to stop. This Author has a way of pulling you in to the story and doesn’t let go till the end. There’s twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next. Each book there’s mystery and suspense. These characters all go through different situations from running from enemies that are very dangerous and chances of survival. Find out what happens in this must read boxset.

To Isaac, these men are strangers, but they’re prepared to kill any who get between them and him.
Daniel James is an author of horror, fantasy and fast-paced thrillers. He first began writing as a hobby whilst completing his dissertation on the differing physiological, biochemical and performance effects between active and passive recovery modes following bouts of intensive exercise (I know, I found it boring too) at Liverpool Hope University. Pigs is his debut crime-thriller. When not writing, he loves reading genre fiction novels, watching movies, comic books, listening to music (he used to play bass in local rock bands), and he also used to enjoy kickboxing and jiujitsu before growing tired of getting beaten up three days a week.

Now, after breezing through the Agency training program, Hope appears to be indestructible—until she is assigned a simple task during the rescue of an author among the disappeared in the UAE. The task? To distract the woman’s captors until she can be spirited out of the country.
Unfortunately, a member of MISix has other plans. In an attempt to disrupt the Agency’s mission, she tips off one of Hope’s enemies, alerting them to her location. Hope manages to lead the author’s captors on a merry dance, freeing others to rescue her, until she is unexpectedly confronted with a violent angry mob intent on harm.
She is left bloody and broken. No one knows whether Hope’s body or her mind will heal. Suddenly Hope is no longer just her name. It is also the one thing she must embrace to find her new normal.

Higher Elevation by Renee Regent is the first three books in the series. They are Unexplained, Untouched and Undeniable. They each are about a different couple and I loved them all. They were fast reads so I was able to read the whole set in two settings. The authors writing grabbed my attention and the characters were amazing. I was on the edge of my seat in some parts and I wanted to cry in the next. Overall I enjoyed all of the stories in this boxset and I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future! Happy reading!
Dark Feathers is a novel by Natalia Reis. This is my second novel by this author.
Phoenix is a dark angel who fall asleep with the human he is supposed to keep tabs on. When he makes the decision to protect her, his boss sees her as a threat. To what lengths will he go to protect her?
I really enjoyed this novel. It reminds me a little of the other novel I read by this author.
I love stories where the male falls in love unexpected and has to find a way to protect them.
For anyone looking for a quick paranormal romance read, I recommend

In the Higher Elevation Series Box Set, by Renee Regent we have three delightful stories. Not only are they a delight to read they are each one very different. Unexplained, Untouched, and Undeniable are all three easy to read, they have strong characters that Ms. Regent has described so well that they are unforgettable, with plenty of action, suspense and mystery. In Unexplained there is plenty of page turning suspense. My personal favorite was Untouched. This was a story in a story. When you read this one listen for the deeper story. In Undeniable, well who can resist a story about hope and second chances. Of course, there is romance too and quite steamy in a few spots. Good solid stories that were a pleasure to read.
An excellent book about love and second chances. This is a new author to me and I really enjoyed the characters and how they leapt off the pages. The story flowed really well and kept me thoroughly engrossed until I found myself at the last page. Truly enjoyed my time with these characters and look forward to reading more from this author.

This author never disappoints. This fantastic series is an absolute must read. Filled with mystery, suspense, and unforgettable characters, each book is a treasure on its own.
I found each book to be equally riveting and loved that we got a glimpse at book four. This box set is absolutely one I will highly recommend to others.
A Dark Sparrow Box Series Books 1 – 3 By India Kells ☆☆☆☆☆ I chose to review book 2 as it is my favorite. In this book you will find suspense, a little twist and a whole lot of forbidden love. They can be a standalone but best to read the series from the beginning.
Zoe Somersby has taken her job to the limit. Her specialty is translating many languages, under cover. But she does not let on so, she can hear what is needed. To keep her boss safe. Be his ears during his business dealings. Learning everything could come to a halt. After all she did sign a contract stating she could not get involved with the boss personally!
Archer Blackwood is the CEO of his own company, extremely good looking but, he is cold and ruthless. Loaded with money Archer is in control of everything. He has hired Zoe, the one and only woman that has gotten under his skin. He has no time for falling in love?
India Kells is an exciting new author for me. She sucked right into her book. This story was filled with all kinds of angst and twists. Her characters will make you fall in love with them, well some of them anyway. Others will just keep you wondering when they will get to meet Karma. Now that she has a boxed set I can read them again all together. A must if you love re reading the series as I do. So feel free to get started with this series. I will be out here waiting for her next series.

Its that time of year, my favorite, when the weather begins to turn a bit more crisp and the nights become longer. Things always seem to have a bit of a magical luster to them this time of year and what better way to enjoy a long cold night than to tuck in with a good light romance based in the best of all seasons, Christmas.
A Cowboy Under the Mistletoe is an anthology must have full of stories that will be sure to warm your heart when you need it the most. I loved that some of my favorite authors participated, but adored that I was able to read a few new authors as well. I believe that a cowboy alpha is one of the perfect scenarios for a love story, so throw in the holidays too and you have a magical mix. I found myself laughing, crying, and cheering for each of these couples. Each book was unique but they all played along with the anthology and nothing was done in a cheesy way. Something I always tend to find in anthologies is one book that just doesn’t fit in with the rest or is so over the top I can’t finish it. This wasn’t the case and I would give at least 4 if not 5 stars to each book. I hope this is a taste of what could be an annual favorite! The following books are included;
-A Cowboy For Christmas By: Susan Fisher Davis -The Cowboy’s Christmas Hand By: Leslie Garcia -Tempting the Cowboy By: Melissa Keir -A Different Kind Of Christmas By: Debbie Desmarteau -Saving a Cowboy’s Christmas By: Stephanie Bergot -Noah’s Christmas Faith By: D’Ann Lindun
I do believe I loved this set so much that it will make a few Christmas gifts this season! Thanks for the lovely collection ladies!
Beneath the Fallen City (The Omni Towers Series Book 1) by Jamie A. Waters is a paranormal romance. It is a story set in the future where going outside could kill you and there is a distinct separation between the classes. The empowered in the tower and the ruin rats who make a living foraging for treasures.
Kayla has spent her life in the ruins looking for treasure, it gives her a sense of calming being there, but her methods have raised the notice of others. Some good some not so good. But what happens on a routine trade changes her life and who she is forever.
It is a well written story that will keep you fully engrossed to the dangers and goings on in the world that Jamie has created. Whilst I truly loved this story, I do not agree with the author (cause you know it is my story, lol) on the choice of Alec and Kayla together, it’s a NO from me. This needs to be fixed, (Jamie break that bond) because I fell in love with Carl.
Anywho, it is absolutely worth the read. Bring on more Kayla and Carl………………………….

Dark Feathers by Natalina Reis is another wondrous tale by this talented author. This is probably my favourite by Natalina and that is saying something because I just loved the first one, Lavender Fields. Natalina has woven a magical story where I easily got swept away with the characters that I fell in love with in the previous book. It’s been two years since Lavender Fields, but I am glad we have finally gotten here. Absolutely beautiful Natalina. Don’t forget the tissues. I love me some angels. I won’t share the story as I want you to truly experience it all by yourself.

Virtue & Vice (Spicetopia Book 2) by Phoebe Alexander My Rating 5 out of 5 stars
This book is steamy, and a perfect follow up to the first book Sugar & Spice. The change in point of view was a surprise to me, but not an unwelcome one.
In this book we read from Moon & Katja’s point of view. Cy and Jolie met this couple while vacationing in Greece. Jolie jokes about making and adult theme park, Moon and Katja are kind of hesitant at first but jump on board. The couple has their own secrets and problems to sort out, and watching their friendship with Cy and Jolie while working on this new venture is beautiful. The steamy scenes are perfect, but not over the top, we still get so much story and its a perfect balance.
I would highly recommend this book, but I definitely suggest you read the first book, Sugar & Spice, not only is it worth the read, but it gives more story behind this book as well. Phoebe Alexander is an amazing author, I really can’t wait to see what she has in store next!
Devil’s Dilemma: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter #4) by Manda Mellett. I love this series and I love Manda Mellett. This is the story of Melissa who has been in a relationship with Skull, a main member of the Colorado Chapter. Melissa is so easy for me to relate to because of her body image and her opinion of men. She doesn’t feel comfortable in her own skin until Skull takes her in. She loves the Family life of the Club and is devastated when Skull doesn’t come home one night. The Club starts searching for him but its like looking for a needle in a haystack. Enter Pyro who has always thought Melissa was the hottest, sweetest woman around but knew he could never have her because she belonged to Skull. Now he is trying to be Melissa’s friend, a shoulder to cry on as they grow closer and closer. This series is a prequel to the Camelot Brothers. I absolutely love mafia romance. When I got these books I stopped everything and started to read it. I could not put these books down. These stories tied up all the questions you might have from the Camelot Brothers. This series has three amazing books My Hidden Life, My Tragic Life and My Free Life. I could not help but fall in love these characters as well.
My Hidden Life Alessandra was born as the Princess to the Canzano Family. She is the daughter of a very powerful man. Alessandra is to be the head of the Family when the time comes. She has to train everyday to make sure that she has the skills to fight. Her Uncle dedicates his life to love her like his own. They have a bond that can never be broken. Alessandra wants to be a normal girl but she quickly realizes that she is not normal. She has to protect her family and friends. Alessandra is on a trip and she sees a handsome guy. She can’t get him out of her mind. Alessandra learns some family secrets that will change her life. Will Alessandra be able to have a normal life or will she just be her father’s puppet?
My Tragic Life This book picks up where the last one ends. Alessandra is the Princess to the Canzano Family. She is going to the Boss when her father passes it down to her. Alessandra has been training ever since she was six years old. She is now trained to kill and she is even better than some of the men. After all, she made a promise to her mother that one day she needs to be free. Alessandra starts to put the plan of her escape together but who can she trust? Will Alessandra finally get her freedom or will still be forever a puppet to her father the Cappo?
I absolutely loved this series. It is in my top three mafia romance of all time. This talented author will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. I loved that this story was told in a few different characters point of view. This gives you a better understanding of what that character is really feeling. I can’t wait to see what she will write next.

Devil’s Dilemma is the fourth book in the Satan’s Devils MC – Colorado Chapter by author Manda Mellett. After Melissa’s boyfriend pulls a disappearing act, she is left with no choice but to lean on his brothers with the Satan’s Devil MC and especially Pyro who has become a good friend to Melissa. From the start Melissa thinks she is less than, her boyfriend leaving doesn’t help this and Pyro and the guys of the club band together to make Melissa feel better about herself. But nothing is what it seems and the club must once again deal with problems they never saw coming. I think this series just keeps getting better and better! I think Melissa and Pyro are now my favorite characters. I loved the way Pyro supported Melissa with everything and couldn’t love her enough when she needed him. There were points in the story that I would have loved to have reached into the book and shook people but never Melissa and Pyro they were awesome. I look forward to seeing what will happen next…hopefully back to Las Vegas!!

Stalking the Stalker by Laura Hawks I the second book in the Valley View Mystery Series. This is a great old fashioned whodunnit type of book that will keep your guessing to the end. This book grabbed my attention right from the start. It is definitely a little different to what this author normally writes however she has made the transition well. The book was interesting and has a great story. It was full of twists and turns the whole way through and you were kept guessing. The story was well written with a great pace to it. I enjoyed the variety of characters throughout too. This was a great book and I can’t wait to read more.

Devil’s Dilemma is the fourth book in the Colorado Chapter branch of Manda Mellett’s Satan’s Devils MC series. As I’ve come to expect from the series, it’s an action-packed romance that’s at times tragic and heart-warming. Melissa is the protagonist of this one. I was particularly drawn to her because of her love of baking – I read a good chunk of this book while waiting for things in the oven! She’s uncomfortable about her weight and worries about her appearance but grows to trust others and how they see her and overcome some of her anxieties. The path to a happily ever after is rarely smooth, and for Melissa there are some pretty big twists and turns along the way. It’s a real page-turner, and particularly satisfying as things start making sense. As well as continuing the story of the Colorado Chapter, Devil’s Dilemma gives us an insight into the Vegas chapter of the MC. I really like how the stories link together, allowing us to catch up with familiar characters and introducing us to new characters who we’ll see developing later. There really is a sense of family and it adds depth and makes you care a lot more about the characters. For me, this is a four-star read. I’d never read any MC books before I started on this series, and it’s got me hooked! There are various places you could start – perhaps at the beginning of the main Satan’s Devils MC series or in the first Colorado Chapter book. Or, you can jump in here and discover the Satan’s Devils through Melissa’s eyes!

Run From Love: A Bowser Belles Sweet Contemporary Romance by Teddy Cat Hester is an easy and fun read. This story is as sweet as cherry pie- with interesting and likeable characters. There is some witty dialog, funny banter, and antics- which made this such a fun read. But, there were times I wanted to knock their heads together in frustration, too. Even though the story isn’t dramatic or complicated- there was plenty to keep me engaged and entertained. Scarlett has a rule she sticks to when dating. No relationship goes past six months. She doesn’t do complicated, messy, or awkward. Walking away in the end with no regrets. But her rules are about to be tested- and boundaries pushed, when Nick enters the picture. If you like a lovely, sweet romance- then this is definitely the book for you!

Diamonds & Deception by Ellen Butler is the third book in the Karina Cardinal Mystery series. This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the series in order. Karina has gotten herself into another scrape but this time with not all on her own. Jillian, her sister, has gotten into some intrigue because of her friend Sadira. This is a fun, thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The location is D.C. and there are Russian Mob, gang members, diamonds and more. I highly recommend this read and bet you won’t want to put it down either.

Matt’s swirly world: Children’s Book Helping Parents Raise Mindful Kids, Understand Tantrums and Relieve Stress, Anxiety by Madeleine Matthews is a book for children and their parents. Matt is having a rough day when it is time to leave the playground. His mom comes up with ways to help him instead of a temper tantrum. This is a good book for parents and children to read together to open up the conversation about getting angry and disappointment. I will reading this to the nieces and nephews to help them understand their feelings.
Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas (The Hills of Texas Book 4) by Kadie Scott
5 Stars
This is my second book by this author, with the first being book 3 in this series…Still have to go back and grab books 1 and 2 and then will read all 4 back to back. I LOVED this one as much as I loved #3. This author’s writing style has me completely hooked, this book was my first of this holiday season and it made me want to grab as many more as I can 🙂
This was such a sweet story and I read it in one sitting. Ashley escaped her hometown a few years back and moved to Denver to prove to her twin sister and her small town that she really was over her ex. Now she returns to stand next to said sister in her wedding to said ex boyfriend. She knows she’s over him but no one else believes her…Enter Jennings, someone Ashley has history with who agrees to stand in as a love interest so Ashley can once again prove she is perfectly ok with the upcoming wedding. Problem is she wants what her sister has, not who her sister has but as things get complicated with her stand in BF, misunderstandings and trust issues arise, along with issues from the past.
I again absolutely loved this story and there was a scene towards the end that completely took my breath away…I’ve only read two of these and had no problem, so they can be read as stand alones but it has made me want to read them all so Id recommend grabbing them all.

The Higher Elevation Box Set includes books one through three of this series.
I will be honest; I had a difficult time with the first part of book one. It felt like it moved slowly and I had a challenge getting into the story. I stuck it out though, and it turned out to be a great read. I loved the period references of the VW and the eight track tapes, lol.
A plus for getting this box set is that you get to binge read it! This series contains all of the things that make a story great-mystery, suspense, danger, romance, and a little sci-fi. It is a great escape for a few hours.
