This Night Has EndedThis Night Has Ended by Alexander Charalambides
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the final book in this series and wow what a series this has been. I have loved every second of it. If you love a story about vampires, humans, love and the war between them then this definately for you.

In this book we are at the stage of a full blown war between the humans and vampires. Rowena is fighting the battle of her life to try and bring peace to both sides of this war however things aren’t that easy and with some people not wanting peace it makes the job even more difficult.

Add to this the fight she is undergoing for her own life. After being infected she is fighting the process of turning into a pale (vampire) mainly because she doesn’t know how her love Vincenzo will take this news. Will he stand by her or will he turn away from her.
Rowena is now in for the fight of her life. Will she succeed in doing the right thing or will corrupt people finally destroy the place that was supposed to be a haven for vampires and humans alike.

Hush, My Darling (Benoit and Dayne Mystery Book 2) by Winter Austin – Review by Kerry Carr

Hush, My Darling (Benoit and Dayne Mystery, #2)Hush, My Darling by Winter Austin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. It is the second book in this series. I haven’t read the first book but it didn’t take anything away from this story. The author does an amazing job of providing the information from the previous book as and when the reader needs it. The authors writing is so good that it keeps you guessing all the way through. The story was full of twists and turns which i loved and kept me gripped. The characters were well developed and are really supportive of Lila helping her to face her past and her fears.

Lila has had a traumatic past when she was attacked and almost killed by a serial killer. After she recovers she moves to a little place to restart her life. However the killer isn’t through with her and when a body turns up Lila is now scared for her life.

Can they capture the killer before he strikes at her again? What will happen when her past intrudes on her present? And will she be strong enough to face her demons or will she run away?

A Tormented Man’s Soul Part 1 (Grimm Wolves MC Series Book 5) by D.M. Earl – Review by Kerry Carr

A Tormented Man's Soul (Grimm Wolves MC Book #5)A Tormented Man’s Soul by D.M. Earl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 5th book in the Grimm Wolves series. I would definately recommend reading the series from the beginning as all the characters are linked and the stories are just so good. Again the author has done an amazing job with this story. The authors writing is gripping and the pictures that are portrayed gives the reader a sense of being there. This story is quite dark because of Chain’s story but it is so worth reading.

Chains is the enforcer of the club. He is a hard man which he has to be to do his job. However there is a side to Chains that no one knows. And it’s a side that he wants to keep hidden. However that side of his life is no threatening to be exposed but who is responsible. Is it the rival MC club that is currently making trouble for them or is it someone else? Someone from Chain’s dark and traumatic past.

This story is fast paced and action packed and yet again we get a good insight into a main player of the Grimm Wolves MC. This story is hard to read in places especially about Chain’s past and childhood but it helps you understand what makes him the man he is today.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 2 in the Evil Sushi series. It is a faced paced story following on from the first book so I recommend reading that first. This book is full of action and betrayals and knowing who can be trusted and not trusted.
The plot is basically about the world coming to an end being over run by sea mutants that are set on destroying the world and the human inhabitants. No one knows a lot about this species other than they are deadly.
Can the team find and destroy the cause of this virus? Will they find a cure to save people that are infected? And at times of danger and stress is the human race worse than the vicious species that are trying to take over?

Beelzebub: The Gift of Glutony (A Sinful Seven Novel) by JC Brown & Lena Lane – Review by Kerry Carr

Beelzebub The Gift of Gluttony (Sinful Seven, #2)Beelzebub The Gift of Gluttony by J.C. Brown
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really fun and flirty paranormal romance story. It was a really good read and I loved how the relationship between the characters progressed through the story. The author does an amazing job of making the paranormal and the events in this story seem so real. This is book 2 in the Sinful Seven series.

Beelzebub is definately sin. As the one of the seven prince’s of hell and his sin is gluttony. His main pleasure is to tempt humans to give into their gluttonous side and then taint their souls. He likes to inhabit the bodies of the people he marks and never has any resistance until he meets Clara.

Clara is an empath. Helping people with her skill drains her energy. When she meets Beelzebub he thinks she will be an easy target but how wrong he is.

What follows is a really good story about this couple, the fights they need to endure between saving Cara’s soul and the war against angel and demons and the strange reason why Beelzebub wants Cara’s soul saved instead of marked. She’s just another human after all right?

Saving Marvel (Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #4) by Manda Mellett – Review by Kerry Carr

Saving Marvel (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation Book 4)Saving Marvel by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is another book in the amazing Satan Devil’s MC club. I never hesitate in grabbing these stories as I know they will be great. They have the elements in the stories that I enjoy, Romance, danger and pasts that could make or break them. The author always makes her characters believable and connectable which makes the stories all the more enjoyable.
In the story we meet Marvel. Marvel is a confirmed bachelor and vows to stay that way. Making fun of his brothers when they settle with their old ladies.
However one incident in his life, a bank robbery, he finds himself held hostage with a woman for company. After talking to her he finds out her name and her past.

The Sound of Murder (Musical Murder Mystery Series) by K.L. Montgomery – Review by Kerry Carr

The Sound of MurderThe Sound of Murder by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have really enjoyed this book. It is a really good cosy mystery and I love the mixture of murder, mystery and also musicals. As our sleuth trys to solve the murder we are treated to glimpses of the sound of music and I will admit I was singing along in my head. I especially love the song that Ruby makes up to remember the clues they find

Ruby hasn’t had much luck. As part of the Melody Street Players her last show was one to remember but not for the performance but for a murder. Surely bad luck like that couldn’t strike twice right?

So imagine Ruby’s horror when she finds a member of her group dead from a gun shot wound. Now it’s a race against time to find the killer. With the help of a fellow actress they aim to solve this murder before the finger of suspicion is pointed at Ruby again.

Forbidden Love - Book 1 of The Forbidden DuetForbidden Love – Book 1 of The Forbidden Duet by K.M. Lowe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really emotional love story. The author does an amazing job with the characters. I felt so desperately sorry for Clark and Kally. Their struggles in this book are very heartbreaking to read but also gripping as you want them to succeed and be together.

Clark is part of a very dangerous family. When he decides he wants a life better than one in the family business of crime he breaks away taking over his grandads business. However this does not sit well with his family and Clarks dad has a plan for revenge which will destroy him. This plan involves the love of his life Kally. Deacon (Saints vs Sinners Series Book 1)Deacon by CJ Warrant
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this second chance romance. It was really well written and the characters were well developed and relatable. This book has quite a few twists in it that along the way you are never sure if our couple would get back together or not which made the story more of an interesting read.
Deacon left the small town to become a famous Moto GP rider but when he friend passes away he returns to his home town. The last person he wants to bump into his the girl who broke his heart Olivia.

Olivia is now a successful woman in her own right. The last thing she wants or needs is her ex love to return especially after he broke her heart all those years ago. However there is no denying the passion between them.
The question is can they both forgive the past so they can have a future? And will they be able to overcome the obstacles placed in their path along the way. Can Deacon win Olivia over or will it be to little too late?

Spring’s Showers (Romantically Seasonal Series) by C.A. King – Review by Kerry Carr

Spring's Showers: Romantically Seasonal: SpringSpring’s Showers: Romantically Seasonal: Spring by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. I liked how the author mixes mythology and romance. The stories are entertaining and the characters engaging.

In this book we meet Cupid and the other gods. The other God’s think Cupid’s job is easy. I mean how hard is it to make 2 people fall in love? So Cupid sets them a challenge. Each of the other God’s will take turns to try and make 1 couple fall in love. If they succeed then Cupid will do their job for a year. If they fail then they have to publicly admit that Cupid has the hardest job. First up is Mother Nature.

Since its Spring time Mother Nature is first to take the challenge and she soon realises its not as easy as she thought it would be. Firstly she is acting like a mortal which means no magic and secondly as we learn throughout the book she has no idea what to look for when it comes to love.
Will she be able to make a true love connection? Or will she lose her bet with Cupid?

Keeping Secrets (Grimm Wolves MC Book 4) by D.M. Earl – Review by Kerry Carr

Keeping Secrets- Prospect (Grimm Wolves MC #4)Keeping Secrets- Prospect by D.M. Earl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in the Grimm Wolves MC Series and omg they keep getting better and better. As with previous books it can be read as a standalone but trust me you will want to read from the beginning because you can’t help but fall in love with all the characters in then stories. The author does an amazing job of bringing the sense of family to the MC club and no matter how badass they are family always comes first.

In this book we get a 2 stories rolled into 1. The main story is about Iron who is a prospect and his family including his wife Joy and their little girl.
Iron is hiding a secret. A secret that has been shadowing his life and his families life for years. After being forced to spill his story to Chains it sets a course of action that could work out for the good or it could turn very bad in deed. As always the brothers will band together to protect and help a brother in need.

We also get a glimpse into the story of Chains. Why he is the enforcer for the club and why he always acts like such a bad guy. But I have a feeling we haven’t had his full story and hopefully that will be revealed in coming books.

Again it was an amazing read that I couldn’t put down and thoroughly enjoyed.

Santa… Nope the Grimm Wolves (Grimm Wolves MC Book 3) by D.M. Earl – Review by Kerry Carr

Santa...Nope the Grimm Wolves (Grimm Wolves MC #3)Santa…Nope the Grimm Wolves by D.M. Earl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Grimm Wolves MC series and they keep getting better. Each book has revolved around different member of the club so they can be read as standalone however this series is so good and the characters do overlap in each story so I would recommend reading them in order. I love how badass the bikers are but how they will stop at nothing to help and protect each other no matter the consequences.

In this book its the run up to Christmas and we follow Beast. In the first couple of books Beasts brothers sensed something was wrong and in this book we actually find out the reason.

Beast is being blackmailed by his father and brother who are part of a rival MC. To keep his family safe (so he thought) Beast moves them to an place that is so run down and out of the way. Even though they were safe Beast and Cathy’s relationship suffers as she believes he doesn’t care and the damp in the property means their son Rider becomes ill.

Feeling at the end of the rope he asked for the clubs help to not only protect his family but to get rid of his old man once and for all.

This book is a story about making amends and the lengths Beast will to to protect the ones he loves.
Now the club is on the verge of war all the brothers need to work together to protect every member of the club. While this is happening the brothers also band together to help Beast make this a Christmas that his family will never forget.

The Last Cabin Girl (Detective Josie Thompson Series) by Tom Swyers – Review by Kerry Carr

The Last Cabin GirlThe Last Cabin Girl by Tom Swyers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this Thriller. The author does a fantastic job of gripping the reader from the beginning and not letting go. There are so many twists and turns to this story that you don’t know what to expect next. I also enjoyed how the author incorporates the Covid pandemic as well along side the story plot. This devastating event makes the whole story feel more real and more connectable. I really liked Josie’s character. She is a hard working, loving mum who will stop at nothing to protect her kids, she does seem a little paranoid in places but this is normally for a legitimate reason.

Josie lives in a cabin with her two kids, away from it all especially her abusive ex husband. There has always be stories through the years of dead bodies being found in the river surrounding Josie’s property and there are secrets her family wish would stay hidden. But when dead bodies start turning up and Josie is the number 1 suspect she needs to figure out who is behind these murders and why before she can clear her name.
Add to this the added drama of Covid and Josie having to face her fears that plague her today and in her past and this is a very entertaining read.

Seductively Yours (Titans of Manhattan Book 3) by Anise Storm – Review by Kerry Carr

Seductively Yours (Titans Of Manhattan, #3)Seductively Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Titans of Manhatten series. I have loved all these books. Each romance is full of passion and obstacles that leaves you wondering if they will work out or not and this one is no exception. Even though it is past of a series they can be read as standalone as each book focuses on one couple. I love the characters. The author has a great way of bringing the characters to life and giving them a back story that is believable and relatable. Everyone goes into new relationships with a history and that history affects you in the new relationship and the author does a great job of showing that.

Rhyann has always dreamed of being a dancer in a ballet school. When her dream finally comes true she moves to New York to pursue her dreams, however things aren’t as good as she imagines and when she finds herself in need of a job her roommate has an idea. Why don’t the work in the club as pole dancers. A good income and its still dancing right? That is where Rhyann meets Mason again.

Mason is one of the Titans. He is wealthy and respected. He doesn’t do relationships prefer to keep his entanglements casual. He runs the club where the girls go for jobs and instantly he recognises Rhyann. She is one women he can’t forget.

What follows is a fast paced story full of emotion and sizzling attraction. The question is will Mason finally be tamed by a woman or will he keep fighting to stop mixing business with pleasure.

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla) by S.B. Alexander – Review by Kerry Carr

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla, #1)The Hunted by S.B. Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow I really loved this book. It has everything I love sexy vampires, hot attraction, and danger around every bend and twist. The author does and amazing job of infusing all these elements and still keeping the story unique.
The story is definately about opposites attracting with Sam who is a vampire and Layla who is a vampire hunter. Their attraction to each other is instant and very hard to deny. But things aren’t just complicated by this fact.
Layla has been hired to kidnap Sam but she’s not sure who she had been hired by. When the kidnap attempt goes wrong and both Layla’s sisters get caught, 1 by Sam the other by Sam’s enemy.
The only person Layla can turn to for assistance is the one person she doesn’t know if she should trust. Sam.
Can they work together to get rid of the threat towards Sam and save Layla’s sisters? Or will their attraction mean they both get burnt and lose it all by giving into their passion.

I really enjoyed this short romance. The story gripped me from the beginning and I was invested in the characters the first time I met them. Even though this is a quick read the story felt complete and packed so you didn’t feel like you were missing out on the story.
Clover is an amazing character. She is so.hard working but she never seems to catch a break until she meets Shamrock.

Shamrock has never wanted a long term relationship and never entertained it until he meets Clover. Now his past of random hook up come back to bite him and add to the confusion misunderstanding between them and the reader is left wondering if Clover and Shamrock will ever get their happy ever after.
Is Clover’s luck about to change for the better? Or will Shamrocks luck run out?

The Thunderbird Academy Trilogy by Valia Lind – Review by Kerry Carr

The Thunderbird Academy TrilogyThe Thunderbird Academy Trilogy by Valia Lind
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a really exciting boxset to read. If you love magic, danger, and shifters then this is definately a good read. The author does an amazing job of making the characters relatable such as Maddie. Even though she is a witch from a very powerful family we are shown that she is also just a normal teenage girl with teenage problems.
There are reference to other books before this one however I was still able to really enjoy and follow the story without reading the previous books. I also loved the fact that I didn’t have to wait to read the next book which meant I could keep the enjoyment going. Once you start reading the author has you gripped until the end.

Maddie is a witch. She goes to a paranormal school where everyone is supposed to be safe from the Ancient magic that is threatening them. However that isn’t the case.
All Maddie wants is to be a normal girl, well as normal as she can be. She doesn’t want the attention she gets from being part of a powerful family. She doesn’t even consider herself a powerful witch especially since her magic isn’t firing properly.
Add to all this confusion the fact that her headmaster is looking to her to protect the school and pairing her with a wolf shifter who she has feelings for that she can’t work out and it is a dangerous mixture.
However when Maddie and Aiden are paired together can they put their differences aside?
Add to mixed feelings, normal girl issues such as homework and friendship as well as her missing father and Maddie has struggles that will challenge her every step of the way.

Ruthless Heir (Mafia Elite Book 5) by Amy McKinley – Review by Kerry Carr

Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite, #5)Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 5 in the Mafia Elite series. I have lived all these books. Each one is unique however I do recommend reading them from the start so you know how the families work and who is part of what family. The stories are full of danger as well as the romance. The men are hard and dark which only increases their appeal.

In this book we meet Summer. Summer is on the run after her friend tried Cross a member of the New York Mafia. She escapes to Chicago where she has a one night stand with the person who turns out to be her new boss. Now she is forced to accompany him as his assistant when she is accused of stealing his money but things aren’t what they seem and the secret that Summer is trying to protect as well as her safety could now be in danger.

Reunion in the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction Book 4) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Kerry Carr

Reunion in the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, #4)Reunion in the Outback by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in the Bunya Junction series and I really enjoyed it like the books before.

This book was slightly different in the sense that it wasn’t 2 strangers finding love but a married couple falling out and back in love with each other. The author does an amazing job of showing the reader the realities of married life, showing that it isn’t always love and romance and that sometimes you have to lose something to realise what you have.

When Yolanda leaves her husband Michael she feels she needs to return to Bunya Junction to give herself time to heal. After a marriage that had suffered misunderstandings, and disagreements through the years she feels they need a fresh start so leaves with her young daughter. However things aren’t that simple as she realises she left part of herself with her husband.

After Yolanda leaves Michael starts to realise what he had in his relationship and wants to get his wife back so he plans to return to a place he vows never to return to so he can save his family.

There are things at work in the back ground such as demons in Michael’s past that Yolanda doesn’t know about, will she realise what they are before its too late to save them.
This story is beautifully written and I loved reading and sensing the realisation that Michael comes to when he realises that he needs to put his family over any job. The author’s writing is very emotive and drags the readers in. You can’t put it down until you know their ending.

Bottom of the Chains-Prospect (Grimm Wolves MC Series Book)Bottom of the Chains-Prospect by D.M. Earl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book 2 of Grimm Wolves MC Series and I loved this story just as much as the first one. The author does an amazing job of involving the reader into the world of the MC club, fully immersing the reader into their lifestyle and the danger they face.

In this story we learn more about Bullet. Bullet is a prospect who we met in the first book. After an attack left him very injured and struggling to recover in the 1st book we now rejoin him and learn more about his road to recovery. We also learn about his past and how he became part of the Grimm Wolves MC Club and of course we find out and meet his love interest. The Wounded Cowboy Billionaire (Billionaire Hearts Ranch, #1)The Wounded Cowboy Billionaire by Edith Mackenzie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was such a heartbreaking romance. I felt it was a hard read at times but just because of all the unfairness and loss that Colt had to go through and endure before getting his happy ever after.
The author deals with things such as family loss, accidents and cancer in a way that allows the reader a glimpse of the pain that people go through. Colts reaction to his neice is strong and unusual and some people may think extremely wrong but it was a very honest portrayal of how grief can effect people.
This is a story of hope and keeping the faith of finding love even when life seems to be against you at every turn.
Can Colt overcome his pain and grief and be with Evelyn or will his grief push her away losing his love and his only family?

Claiming My Mate (Wolf Hollow Pack #1)Claiming My Mate by Nicole Howl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Wolf Hallow Pack series and wow what a beginning. I love shape-shifter romances stories anyway. I love the protectivness and the passion that is involved but this goes beyond that with danger as well.

Lily is a human servant to the Huntington wolves. She wants a normal quiet life but when one of the guards decides to force her to be his it changes her life and her position in that household forever.

Jason is Prince of the pack. His destiny is to become Alpha to the pack. But one meeting with Lily changes all that. Knowing he has no found his fated mate he now needs to prove to her that they belong together, something that he and his wolf already know. However he also needs to protect her from the guard who seeks to own her.
Can Jason save Lily and be with her? What will the consequences of their love be?
The story ends on a cliff hanger and i cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Notebook Mysteries ~ Changes and Challenges (Notebook Mysteries Book 3) by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Kerry Carr

Notebook Mysteries ~ Changes and ChallengesNotebook Mysteries ~ Changes and Challenges by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Notebook Series. I would really recommend reading the first 2 books in the series first as they themes and characters all follow through the series. This book continues from the end of the last book.
What I love about these books is how well the stories are written. You completely feel transported to the era the books are written in. The stories are a great read, they are full of mystery and murder and our main character Emma has loads more challenges to overcome, from learning to run a charity made with a donation from a wealth client to solving a mystery involving drugs, kidnapping and more.
Adding to this mystery is another case brought to her by an old flame but are things as they seem?
It is a thrilling read that will need the reader hooked and guessing from beginning to end. You feel captivated and transported in time which adds to the charm of this series.

Juliet’s Journey to Love (Great Smoky Mountain Getaways Book 1) by Elsie Davis – Review by Kerry Carr

Juliet's Journey to Love (Great Smoky Mountain Getaways, #4)Juliet’s Journey to Love by Elsie Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this beautiful romance story. It was really nice reading Juliet’s story. Following her on the journey to find what her heart desires love and the possibility of a family. Throughout this journey Juliet struggles with her faith and her ability to remain confident in God’s plan for her when everything seems so far out of her reach. However god works in mysterious ways and if we keep our faith he will surprise us when we least expect it.

Juliet’s surprise comes in the form of Jake. When Juliet becomes ill Jake helps her out and even though at first they seem to be so incompatable as their feelings grow and progress you know they are the perfect fit for each other.

This is a beautiful clean romance with a lot of reference to religion and keeping faith in God’s plan for you.

An Alien Storm (Soldiers of Saedo, #4)An Alien Storm by Calla Zae
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 4 in the Soliders of Saedo. While I haven’t read the previous books in the series I still really enjoyed this sci-fi romance. I loved both the main characters. Both were really easy to like and feel for at times.

Vanessa is a chef on the plant of Saedo. After escaping her abusive ex husband all she wants in a quiet life. She doesn’t dream she will ever find love again. That is until she meets a star being called Arkon.

Arkon has secrets in his past as well but he can’t deny or help the attraction he feels towards Vanessa. Could she be the one he’s been waiting for? Are the destined to be together? Or will their pasts stop them from finding love?

Along side the romance there is also danger as something is trying to change the peaceful world they live in.
This was a really good read and i am not going to read the others in the series.

I really enjoyed this romance story. It is fast paced and the chemistry between the two main characters is pretty much felt from the beginning of the story and increases as you progress.
One thing I really enjoy is the realistic stories about Ian and Grace. Both of them come into this situation / relationship with a background and wounds from previous relationships. Like most new relationships it’s hard to find the happy ground so there is a bit of drama and some issues around trust however the passion and chemistry between then is amazing.
Grace needs to leave her current home so when she sees her neighbour Ian looking for a roommate she is interested. The ad says there’s no rent as long as Grace is prepared to cook him a meal every night. How hard can that be right.
Neither of them expected the connection between them to grow as it does but with them being new to each other and roommates on top of that does their budding romance stand any chance at all?

This story is full of twists and turns and things you just don’t see coming which keeps the reader hooked

Bella: An Appalachian Love Story & Jagged Dawn: Logan’s Beginnings by Valerie Davisson – Review by Kerry Carr

Bella-An Appalachian Love Story & Jagged Dawn-Logan's BeginningsBella-An Appalachian Love Story & Jagged Dawn-Logan’s Beginnings by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

These two books are the prequels to the Logan Mckenna mystery series. Both books give us more of an insight into Logan’s life and her family history.

Bella is a beautiful story about how Logans great grandmother Norah met Giovanni. Giovanni is a very skilled man and makes beautiful creations. One of his creations ends up becoming a family heirloom that is passed down through the generations. This story is heartwarming and interesting to read about how life was in the past and how hard times were.

JAGGED DAWN- The second story catches up to present day and follows Logan’s life. In this story we live through her pain as she goes through the trauma of losing her husband. Through all the fear and grief we see signs of the Logan we know from the other stories as we see her strength and determination shine through.

Both these stories give us a better insight into Logan’s family history and explains in more detail the pain and trauma that was mention in the following stories when Logan progresses from music teacher to murder detective.
