Cowboy: Claimed by Various Authors – Review by Michelle Austin

Cowboy: ClaimedCowboy: Claimed by Melissa Keir
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cowboy Claimed was a good 4 star read, this is a boxed set of six stories.

I was pulled right in by each of these authors, they all had great characters and storylines. Each author brought something different to the book. A few of the authors are new to me and I can’t wait to read more from them.

Rescue Love – Melissa Keir
Snow Bird Springs:TROY – Cheryl Gorman
Upstaging The Cowboy – Leslie P. Garcia
Cowboy Kind of Forgiveness – Becca Turner
Reverence – Lyssa Layne
Cowboy Proud – D’Ann Lindum

There is a great mix of hot alphas, action, twists, romance, suspense, and so much more. All of the secondary characters were great. It’s been awhile since I have read this genre, and I didn’t realize what I was missing. If you’re looking for a great mix of authors with some great reads than this would be a book you would enjoy.

Isabella’s Painting by Ellen Butler – Review by Michelle Austin

Isabella's Painting (Karina Cardinal Mystery #1)Isabella’s Painting by Ellen Butler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Isabella’s Painting was a great 5 star read and the first book in the Karina Cardinal Mystery series.

Karina is a lawyer who discovers something mysterious when she is attending a party with her boyfriend at his parents home. Of course her curiosity peaks and she does some investigating, could she have seen a piece of artwork that was part of a historical unsolved robbery?

I’d gotten it into my head that I would crack a case that neither the FBI, nor highly skilled art detectives, nor investigative reporters had done in the past twenty-eight years. How silly of me

Will Karina’s curiosity bring danger to her doorstep? Will she be able to solve the mystery?

We meet several great secondary characters that added a great element to the story, my favorite was Molly. I really liked Karina, she had me LOL so many times, she was very smart and independent. I really like a book that has me guessing throughout the story, I was thrown off when it twisted in a completely different direction on me. This is my first read from Ellen and I was pulled right in by her writing. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Mouse Trapped: Satan’s Devils MC #9 by Manda Mellett – Review by Michelle Austin

Mouse Trapped: Satan's Devils MC #9Mouse Trapped: Satan’s Devils MC #9 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mouse Trapped was a great 5 star read and book nine in the Satan’s Devils MC.
Be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster, I was exhausted when I was done.

Mouse is a member of the MC who is mixed race, Native american/caucasian. He takes care of the computer needs for the club. He meets Mariana when he is out in the woods and hears her screaming. He saves her from a bear and takes her to safety. There is something about her that intrigues and calls to him.

Mariana came to the US when she was four, she has some pretty high walls up due to secrets she has. When she unexpectedly catches the attention of immigration things take a twist for her. Now she needs help, but who can she turn to? Would Mouse be willing to help her?

There is drama, suspense, action and so much more. All of the secondary characters were great. The chemistry between these two was off the charts, you could feel the heat coming off of the pages. Coming from growing up with handsome native americans, I pictured a few during my read, LOL. Manda Mellett does a great job of pulling you right in. Each book can be read as a stand alone, but I would suggest reading all of them. MC books are my favorite genre and Manda has quickly become one of my favorite authors to go to for a great read. 1-click and get started today.

Hope's Decree (The Fated #1)Hope’s Decree by Angela McPherson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hope’s Decree was a good four star read and book one in the Fated series.

My whole freakish life I’d desperately wanted to shut out the surge of emotions I often felt from others.

This was an interesting read that peaked my interest in Greek mythology, this is out of my realm of genre but I was pleasantly surprised.

Trinity was a great character with a lot of drama and sassiness, she is a 17 year old in her senior year of high school. We get to know her group of friends and of course the snobby mean girls. I did have some LOL moments with some thoughts that Trinity would have.

There is so much action and conflict along with several twists and turns. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. It was great watching Trinity develop into a very strong person, I can’t wait to read the next book in the series to see where she goes from here.
Angela McPherson has done a great job of pulling you right in with her writing.

Felicity Found by Lara Ward Cosio – Review by Michelle Austin

Felicity Found (Rogue Series Book 6)Felicity Found by Lara Ward Cosio
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Felicity Found was a great 5 star read and book six in the Rogue series.
It was great catching up with the band again.

This is Conor and Felicity’s story.
Felicity has been struggling since she has become a mom and wife. She is sleep deprived and spending all her time at home with the kids, where she has time to think about things. Conor is always gone to the studio and not home helping, which is also wearing on her.

I have lived in a bubble of motherhood in these last few months, determined to experience all the good and messy moments this has to offer.

Conor is struggling with his wife’s distance and lack of sex drive. This is something he has never encountered in his career of being a hot guitarist. He’s had women falling at his feet and he still has temptations being thrown his way, will he be faithful?

When he tries to help fix the problem, things take a twist. Could his idea blow up in his face? Will Felicity find her happy place once again?

There is so much to this great read, my emotions were all over the place. Lara Ward Cosio does a great job of capturing so much including touching on the reality of postpartum depression. Felicity had some real struggles, I felt for her so much. Conor was great in the sense that he wanted to help her and would do anything to get her back. The secondary characters were great. If you’re looking for a great series to ready, I highly suggest this one. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Dangerous Ground: Tina and Chase's StoryDangerous Ground: Tina and Chase’s Story by Alice Rachel
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dangerous ground was a thrilling and emotional rollercoaster of a 5 star read. This is Tina and Chase’s story and I loved it. Once I started I didn’t want to stop.

When the sterilization law goes in effect things start to take a twist.
Chase and his family is what society deems as low class. There were some scenes that just broke my heart for Chase. Who are these people that think they can make these kind of choices for people no matter what class they are?

Tina witnesses some things that happen to Chase and is determined to make changes.
There is so much going on in this read, your head will be spinning. There is quite a bit of darkness also.

Alice Rachel does a great job with her writing you feel everything the characters do. My emotions were all over the place with the laws and regulations. I have to admit that some things were difficult for me to read because of some of the issues. Beware that there may be some scenes that can cause triggers for some. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. I had some I didn’t care for and others I loved. The ending has left me wanting more. You will be done before you know it. Shoot Me (Lie to Me #2)Shoot Me by Lynda Filler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shoot Me was a great 5 star read and book two in the Lie to Me series. The story picks up shortly after where Lie to Me left off.

Layla is heart broken after Mateo’s departure, she had finally opened up and thought he was the one, only to be left all alone. She has decided to go work in Guadalajara for a few months to get away and write.

Pablo whispered, “It’s the things you cannot see, your vulnerability, the sadness of your memories, and your openness to love, that makes you so beautiful.”

Layla has quite the adventures and is really enjoying her time. She also meets several men throughout the story, some friends some lovers. I had my favorite but enjoyed all of them. There are some hot scenes, romance, danger, and so much more.

All of the secondary characters were great, I loved Marisela. My emotions were all over the place. Will Layla finally get what she’s truly looking for? If you’re looking for a great read I suggest this series, I really like Layla and her story and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Burning Night: where the ashes of the past awaken the future by Nikki Broadwell was a great 5 star read. This is my first read from Nikki and I really enjoyed it, she pulls you right in with her writing and you won’t want to stop until your done.

My interest in life was as shallow as the dish I kept under the potted plant that had recently died.

Collie is in an abusive relationship and is dealing with depression on top of it. She has grown distant from her husband and is questioning everything about her life. Where did everything go wrong? Should she stay? Should she go?

There is a lot of emotion in this read, I was all over the place. Collie decides to go on a journey for a fresh start. She is a very strong woman that grew stronger as the story progressed. There is a bit of mystery along with twist and turns. The secondary characters added a great element to the story, some I liked some not so much. You can’t help but feel like your right there with Collie on her journey, I was exhausted when I finished. The ending was great and I loved the epilogue. I look forward to reading more from this author.

F*cking Frank by Jen Luerssen – Review by Michelle Austin

F*cking Frank (Smirk Series Book 1)F*cking Frank by Jen Luerssen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

F*cking Frank was a great 5 star read and book one in the Smirk Series.

I was pulled in right away and was LOL so many times. I absolutely love Frank and his (no pun intended) frankness. He tells it like it is and has no filters.

People suck, or most people do. But the most important lesson was to choose your friends carefully and do not trust easily. – Frank

When Frank and the band go to the winery for their summer gig, they meet Mikey. And oh my gosh if she isn’t made for Frank no one is, these two were like twins on everything. Mikey is like a female Frank to a tee and when she sees something she wants she’s not shy about it. These two are sassy, strong, straight forward and so much more. I loved them.

Can they keep things professional or will they give into their attraction? Has Frank finally found THE ONE?

There is so much more to this great read. All of the secondary characters were great, I look forward to reading more from this series. This read was so refreshing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have a friend very similar to Frank so it felt like I was reading his story. Jen has once again given me another great story to read, I’m excited to read the rest of the series.

Degrees of Control (Prestian Series, #3)Degrees of Control by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Degrees of Control was a great 5 star read and book three in the Prestian Series.

We continue where book two left off.
Katarina is confused on her feelings and struggling with trusting Chase and has declined his proposal. How can she love a man she can’t trust? Chase convinces Katarina to pretend to be engaged until everyone is safe. This is where things start to take an interesting twist.

There is so much that goes on, suspense, danger and several twists and turns along with a few surprises. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. Katarina frustrated me at times with her stubbornness but she was still the feisty and strong willed woman that Chase fell in love with. The heat was definitely turned up between Katarina and Chase, some kindle melting moments for sure. I was happy with how things came out but now I need the next book in the series to see just where everything leads. My Free LifeMy Free Life by Necie Navone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My Free LIfe: Prequel to the Brothers of Camelot was a great 5 star read and book three and conclusion of the My Life Series.

From this day forward, life is what I make it, and all I can say is, let the fun begin.

Alessandra is the Capo Donna of the Canzano family and has been planning her escape for years. She has been through so much growing up, she was trained by her uncle from a young age to fight and lets just say this girl can definitely take care of herself.

Those three words…my free life…bring me a feeling of peace. When I leave, it’ll be forever.

She is finally so close to her goal and there has also been one man on her mind, Grayson. Will she finally be able to connect with him? Will everything fall in place for her?

There are so many edge of your seat moments, along with action, loss, several emotional moments, drama, and so much more. We even get a little hot and steamy time as well, which was a surprise twist. I really enjoyed this whole series, reading about Alessandra and her struggles through the years and the great friends and family that she had. All of the secondary characters were great and I would love to see more from all of them. Her father on the other hand was not my favorite and I hope he gets his in the end. Necie Navone has done a great job of pulling me right in with her writing, I loved it. I’m looking forward to the next book in the Brothers of Camelot series.

Embattled Hearts (Lost and Found, #1)Embattled Hearts by J.M. Madden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Embattled Hearts was a good 4 star read and the first book in the Lost and Found series.

There are some things you can’t change in life, who you’re related to, taxes, the nasty boss you’d like to shove off a roof. And you can’t choose who you’re attracted to.

Shannon is hired on to work at LNF Investigative Services. And when she meets John sparks fly between them. John doesn’t think that he has a chance with Shannon, why would she want a guy like him?(broke my heart) John is struggling with his injuries suffered from being in the Marines. He isn’t able to go out into the field like the other detectives and hates it.

When Shannon’s safety is at risk due to a stalker, John offers to stay with her for protection.
Will they find out who the stalker is? Will they give in to their attraction?

You’re the first person I’ve ever been with who doesn’t make me want to shoot somebody out of boredom -John

My emotions were all over the place, with some teary eyed moments. I feel these two were meant for each other and you could feel their connection on so many levels. The secondary characters were great and I was very happy with the ending.
The struggles that John went through trying to deal with his injuries is exactly what alot of our military go through everyday. To have this in a story brought some realism to it, kudos to J.M. Madden

Deadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover NovelDeadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover Novel by Maddie Wade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Deadly Alliance was a great 5 star read. This was a great collaboration from these two authors, I was excited to read it.

Shane is on a mission to find the serial killer who is responsible for the death of his best friends sister. The killer seems to be targeting women who all have the same look to them. Emme happens to have the look that could possibly draw the killer out. She joins Shane’s team to portray his wife undercover.

It looked like a convention for the deadly and sexy. Jesus, not one person in the room was ugly, far from it they were all gorgeous. – Emme

These two have such a great chemistry between them, you can feel the heat coming off the pages. They are both very strong characters that I loved immensely. They just clicked in so many ways. Will they be able to find the killer before he strikes again? Will they keep things professional or give in to their attraction?

We get suspense, mystery, drama, danger and so much more. I was on the edge of my seat flying through the pages to see what was coming next. There are some great twists and secrets that added great elements to the story. The secondary characters added a great element to the story, it’s like one big family when they are together. Imperfect Heart (Combat Hearts Book 4)Imperfect Heart by Tarina Deaton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Imperfect Heart was a great 5 star read and book four in the Combat Hearts series.

I was pulled in right from the beginning, with a LOL scene with Zoe and a raccoon. On top of that the way she ends up meeting her neighbor Tim was classic. Best start ever in a book.
Zoe has moved to Haven Springs to start over and open a bookstore.

Tim is a police officer and I fell for him right away. When he got a call from his neighbor about a possible suspicious person, he definitely didn’t plan to find Zoe in the predicament she was. There is something about his new neighbor that has got his attention.

Will Zoe’s bookstore be a great addition to Haven Springs? Will Zoe and Tim have a HEA?

There is so much more to this great read. All of the secondary characters were great.
The chemistry between these two was off that charts. Tim was very supportive of Zoe and he had an alpha side to him that brings us some steamy moments. The bantering had me LOL at times. Tarina’s writing is great, she pulls you right in and you won’t want to stop until your done. I look forward to reading more from her. Only This Tuesday: A Copper Mills NovellaOnly This Tuesday: A Copper Mills Novella by Melissa Keir
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Only this Tuesday was a great 5 star read.

I was pulled right in from the beginning with the kindness that Tuesday was showing towards Gil, a young man that would visit her food truck daily. I knew I was going to love the rest of the story as well.

Blake is the Mayor of Copper Mills and loves the small town feel and spending time around town. When Blake and Tuesday literally run into each other at the grocery store, she is pulled in by his blue eyes and white teeth. I had a LOL moment during this scene.

I wonder if fate had her crashing into me for my own good. Maybe to tell me I’d been fishing in the wrong lake. – Blake

While out for a walk and some lunch, Blake finds himself at Tuesday’s food truck. He was pleasantly surprised to see her. They start dating and learning more about each other.
When Blake’s ex tries to cause some issues for Tuesday, things start to get very interesting.

Can Blake and Tuesday make things work and have a HEA? Will Blake’s ex get what’s coming to her?

Overall I really enjoyed this read, there are some sad teary eyed moments as you learn more about Tuesday and her family. And the more I learned about Gil’s history the more it tugged at my heart. What this poor boy went through after he was born just broke me, sadly this is a very real problem. Having someone like Tuesday in his life was a blessing, she was so good with him. The secondary characters added a great element to the story, I have to say I very much disliked Blake’s ex fiance Judith. This is my first read from Melissa Keir and I loved it, I look forward to reading more from her.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ring Tru was a good 5 star read and the first book in the Thick as Thieves series.
This was my first read from this author and I was pulled right in. We get mystery, suspense, hot and steamy moments, and so much more.

Unfortunately the job entails being the girlfriend to a very old crotchety man, who has some jewelry she wants to get her hands on. Will was shocked to see who the mystery woman was that is dating his boss. His ex that he left 5 years ago to protect her. Now she’s right in the middle of a big job and could possibly ruin things for him and get her hurt.

Seeing each other brings back so many feelings of love, hurt, anger, and heat. Can they both get what they want? Will they have a new future together?

Calling the Curveball was a great 5 star read.

I was pulled in right from the beginning with the epilogue. We jump ahead six years. Jamie is umping at a baseball game when he sees her in the crowd. There is something about her that he can’t stop looking at.

Kira is intrigued and really wants to talk to Jamie. It’s been two years since her divorce and he’s single. What would it hurt?

Everyone is a little messed up sometimes.

When these two start dating it was great. You could feel the connection between them. But of course real life things get in the way along with some things from the past. Can these two get past the hurdles and make things work?

This was my first read by this author and I loved it. I was pulled right in by her writing and couldn’t stop until I was done. I really liked this couple and I really wanted them to get their HEA. My Tragic Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel was a great 5 star read and book two in the My Life series and I was super excited to get my hands on it.

Sailors Knot was a great 5 star read and book four in the Eastern Shore Swingers series.
This can be read as a stand alone.

Nothing is predestined: The obstacles of your past can become the gateways that lead to new beginnings.

All I can say is wow! There are so many levels of emotion and life experiences that had me all over the place. You get pulled right in from the beginning with a very hot and steamy moment between Casey and Gabriel. Gabriel encouraged Casey to find a third and that is when she met Joshua and brought him home. We jump from past to present as Casey thinks about things from the past.

Never be ashamed of a scar. It simply means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you.

Casey is currently dealing with some life issues and enjoys a visit from her besties among several other things. There is so much more that goes on but I don’t want to give anything away. Savannah’s Saviors was a great steamy 5 star read.

Greg and Tom are intrigued and attracted to their visitor. They start to sense that she is in some sort of trouble, what could it be? These two were so sweet with Savannah it really tugged at my heartstrings. As they discover more about her they are even more attentive.

Climbing The Walls (Hart & Cole Book 1)Climbing The Walls by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Climbing The Walls was a page turning 5 star read and the first book in the Hart & Cole series.
Once I started I didn’t want to stop.

We get alternating POV between Kris and Nicole who have been married for about eight years. Nicole is a workaholic that doesn’t have much of a relationship with her children. Kris loves Nicole despite how certain people feel about her in his life. They make it work and have two beautiful children. I love their kids they pulled me right in and tugged at my heart strings.

When Nicole’s boss starts having marital problems, things start to shift for Nicole and Kris as well. Are they as happy as they portray to their friends and family? There is so much more to this emotional rollercoaster of a read. There is so much going on that it causes questions to come up and not so great assumptions at times. There was a huge unexpected and disappointing twist. I didn’t see it coming and it left me shattered. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story, some I liked some I didn’t.

Sacha T. Y. Fortuné does a great job of pulling you right in with her writing. There isn’t a cliffhanger but I didn’t feel like it ended in a good place for me. I’m hoping to see more from these two and get some answers. I can’t wait to start book two in the series.

Who: A Stalker Series #1 by Megan Mitcham – Review by Michelle Austin

Who (Stalker, #1)Who by Megan Mitcham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Who was a great 5 star psychological thriller and book one in the Stalker series.

Larkin is a very hard worker and has created a fashion empire. One night while she was taking some alone time on the roof she is pulled off the ledge by a mysterious man who thought she was going to jump. Who is he and what was he doing on the roof?

When Larkin discovers she has a stalker things take an interesting twist. I was really pulled in and through the whole book I was trying to figure out who the stalker was. There are so many twists and turns my head was spinning.

We learn pretty quickly that she doesn’t have a great relationship with her father. She does have a group of friends that she is close to and I really liked them. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. The author does a great job with her writing. There is so much going on that your head will be spinning. We do also get some steamy scenes. I really liked the epilogue and I can’t wait to start the next book in the series.

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance: The Big Apple Series by Alexa Summers – Review by Michelle Austin

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance: The Big Apple Series Book 1Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance: The Big Apple Series Book 1 by Alexa Summers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Touchdown was a hot 5 star read and book one in The Big Apple series.

Lexi is a sports reporter who gets to see it all when she goes into the locker rooms after games, and I mean all. She is one of the best interviewers in the business. While in the locker room there is a towel malfunction and live TV gets a full view of Brett the hot quarterback.

Wanting an apology from Lexi thinking that she planned the whole incident, Brett doesn’t get it so he has another plan. In the meantime he and Lexi have some very hot and steamy moments and spend more time together. Things start to take a turn for Brett and he is developing feelings for Lexi.

There is a huge twist that changes everything very quickly. Will these two be able to get past it?

This was a great story that has hot scenes, jealous exes and co-workers and so much more. I loved all of the secondary characters with the exception of Izzy and Jade. They were on my hate list. I had several LOL moments, especially when Lexi was in the locker rooms, loved her thoughts. This is my first read from this author and I loved it, I was pulled right in from the beginning and couldn’t stop until I was done. I look forward to reading more from this series.

Tomb for an Eagle (Orkneyinga Murders, #1) by Lexie Conyngham – Review by Michelle Austin

Tomb for an Eagle (Orkneyinga Murders, #1)Tomb for an Eagle by Lexie Conyngham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tomb for an Eagle was an interesting 4 star read and book one in the Orkneyinga Murders series.

This book takes us back to the viking era, we get suspense, murder and so much more. I like the kind of reads that keep you wondering who could be the killer and this one didn’t disappoint.
Once I started I didn’t want to stop. I have to admit I did have a little difficulty understanding some things because of the viking language which made it authentic.

There are several twists and turns The secondary characters added a great element to the story. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in with all the detail. This is my first read by Lexie and I look forward to reading more from her.

Neverland by Melissa Jane – Review by Michelle Austin

NeverlandNeverland by Melissa Jane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Neverland is a dark 5 star read.
This is a dark read about obsession and could have triggers for some. I highly suggest you take the authors warning into consideration before reading.

We jump from then and now to get the history on how Lucy meets Dominic the first time. Lucy is now working as a dancer in a club and not by choice. Her best friend is getting out and wants her to come with her, but she can’t and she can’t tell her why.
To them, I was the girl with a big red target on my back. And they weren’t wrong.

Dominic was a monster of the worst kind. The things he would do were heartbreaking and hard to read at times. He was obsessed with Lucy and controlled everything about her.

This is between you and me An obsession, a hate, a jealousy. What you give, I so desire. Watch out for me, I’ll set your soul on fire. – Dominic

Romeo was a god send for Lucy growing up, he was always there for her and tried to protect her the best he could. Until the day she disappeared.

I’m still shaken from reading this book, there are so many scenes that had me in tears and my heart breaking for Lucy. The secondary characters added a great element to the story, some I hated and some I loved. The ending left me with a little bit of shock. Melissa Jane does a great job with her writing and I was pulled in right from the beginning. This book is definitely going on my must read for 2018.

Our Unexpected Hope by Michelle Sullivan – Review by Michelle Austin

Our Unexpected HopeOur Unexpected Hope by Michelle Sullivan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Our Unexpected Hope was a great 5 star read. This follows “Our Next Chapter” which is the story of Quinn’s parents. I was so excited to get my hands on this book and I was pulled right in.

Quinn has always wanted what her parents had, seeing how happy they were once they reconnected made her hope for the same thing one day.

While doing her first photo shoot she meets Noah, he is the head chef at the restaurant the shoot is at. She doesn’t realize it but it’s not the first time Noah has seen her. Noah was mesmerized by her when he saw her having dinner at the restaurant and knew he had to meet her. Being in a relationship has always been far from his mind due to his past, until now.

Tonight is the night that will change my life forever because it’s the night I fell in love with an angel – Noah

I loved this book, we see these two go through different things in their relationship. They share a lot of firsts and have some hurdles as well. I had several emotional moments and LOL moments, I loved the things Quinn would say to freak her father out. These two have such a great connection. Michelle Sullivan does a great job with her writing, you feel everything that the characters do and so much more. If you’re looking for a great read with wonderful characters this is a read for you. I suggest reading “Our Next Chapter” first however this can be read as a standalone.

Silk Road by Lynda Filler – Review by Michelle Austin

SILK ROAD (Code Raven, #6)SILK ROAD by Lynda Filler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Silk Road was a good 5 star read and book six in the Code Raven series.
There is so much going on in this read, you get pulled in by several different characters.
There is lots of action and on the edge of your seat thrilling moments. The theme of the story is about human trafficking and it just breaks your heart what these kids go through.

The Raven Group were a family with a higher life purpose. Luke would do anything for his family of warriors and misfits.

Luke, Luci and the rest of the Raven group become involved in helping find some missing children. Will they be able to find them before anything bad happens? Luke is also dealing with his feelings for Luci, will he be able to finally open his heart up and find love again?

All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. If your looking for a great nail biting series with lots of detail this is the one for you. Lynda Filler does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in. I look forward to reading more from her.

My Hidden Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel (My Life Series Book 1) by Necie Navone – Review by Michelle Austin

My Hidden Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel (My Life Series Book 1)My Hidden Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel by Necie Navone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My Hidden Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel was a great 5 star read and book one in the My Life series.

We start with Alessandra celebrating her sixth birthday, she is the princess of the Canzano family and she knows she has to represent. After she is shot leaving her party, her father becomes very protective and obsessive. Her father is the Capo and a very powerful man with enemies.

Uncle Louie has been training Alessandra for years and has grown very close to her. She is well trained in self-defense and weapons. She can definitely take care of herself. She has a lot of responsibility and expectations as the princess of the family.

As Alessandra starts to learn things about her family she starts to question some things. Does she really want to follow through with her father’s expectations? I really like Alessandra, she was very smart, strong female. Once I started I couldn’t stop until I was done. I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here. Necie Navone does a great job with her writing, she pulls you right in.
