Holiday Terminal by Gwyn McNamee & Christy Anderson – Review by Michelle King

Holiday TerminalHoliday Terminal by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love these authors separately. Together they are fantastic! Don’t we all dream of the one that got away? The one we gave our heart to and they still hold it even though it’s been years? Wonder what would happen if you saw them again? This is the story of Artemis and Penelope. Once young lovers who walked away from each other years ago. Now, stranded in a random airport in the middle of nowhere on Christmas Eve, their paths cross once again. Only this time, there is so much more at stake!

This story brings out all the feels! It’s so easy to imagine myself in Penelope’s place. As I read, I could feel both of their emotions as if they were my own. This is such a well written second chance romance! Holiday Terminal is a must read this Holiday season or anytime you’re looking for a great, emotional, quick read! Five stars for Gwyn and Christy!

Pigs by Daniel James – Review by Michelle King

PigsPigs by Daniel James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Isaac Reid is a free man for the first time in a decade. Fresh out of prison, he heads home to his wife and son in the hopes of making a good life with them, one on the right side of the law this time. That night his wife and son are both brutally slain when Isaac’s past comes back to haunt him. The series of events that follows with keep you pouring through the pages of this psychological trip through the underbelly of the Chicago crime scene.

This author has created a truly believable, albeit absolutely terrifying, world of crime, vengeance, and horror. The psychological walk through the mind of a man who was once a highly successful doctor until one fateful night that changed everything is so well written, you might think they are actually your own thoughts! They should make a movie out of this book because you can see every moment of it as you read. The cover of this novel drew me in and the story kept a hold on me. If you are a fan of psychological thrillers, horror, crime novels, or just well written books, grab this one and start reading! This author definitely did not disappoint!

Knight Watch (An Alliance Agency Novel Book 1) by Maddie Wade & India Kells – Review by Michelle King

Knight Watch (An Alliance Agency Novel #1)Knight Watch by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kingsley Knight has moved from the UK to the US to become an agent in the newly formed Alliance Agency. He is assigned as the lead investigator on their first case, to rescue Sydney Rutherford, the missing niece of a powerful businessman. When Kingsley and Sydney meet, you can definitely feel the sparks fly between the two. But as they find out that things aren’t quite what they seem to be, will they survive the dangers and be able to figure out what is going on between them? Can Kingsley keep Sydney safe when his personal feelings get involved?

This is an intense, action packed, suspenseful story that you won’t want to put down! These two authors together are quickly becoming favorites of mine. I easily connected with these characters and quickly became emotionally involved with all of them. I am looking forward to what comes next in this exceptional series!

Supernatural Love Stories in the Absurd: Four Book Collection by Gwyn McNamee writing as D.P. Payne – Review by Michelle King

Supernatural Love Stories in the Absurd: Four Book CollectionSupernatural Love Stories in the Absurd: Four Book Collection by D.P. Payne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an absolutely must read collection for any PNR fan! As I’ve come to expect from anything I have ready by this author, these stories are so unique and well written, you definitely won’t want to put this book down! D.P. Payne makes you want to believe in the supernatural!

Parched is the story about a man who was so greedy, he was cursed to be a wendigo for all eternity and hunt down other greedy souls and feed from them as punishment for his evil ways. When he comes across a completely black aura, what could it possibly mean? Who could this woman be? What could she be so greedy for that her aura would be this dark? Prepare yourself for a hot and steamy, panty melting story as you find out these answers!

Cursed is the story of an Egyptian pharaoh and a modern day archeologist who have three days to break a 4000 year old curse. This kind of makes me want to change professions! How else am I ever going to meet a man like Wyre???

Spirited is probably my favorite out of the four stories in this book! It’s pretty much my lifelong dream to by old plantation homes and restore them to their former glory! And throw in a few ghosts and a super hot love story??? Yep, dream come true! Margot and Blake stole my heart in this one!

Loched is definitely the coolest of all! The mystery of the Loch ness monster has been solved! At least I’d like to think so after reading this one!

Each of these stories is unique and different. You get a bit of heat, a bit of romance, and a whole realm of emotions as you read through them! I fell in love with all of these characters and highly recommend this collection!

Fire & Ice (Spicetopia #3)Fire & Ice by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fire & Ice is the third book in the Spicetopia series and each book just gets better and better! I highly recommend reading this series in order. In this book, we get the story of Enya and Neve, and they might be my favorite couple yet! The Spicetopia theme park is finally coming to completion and things are really ramping up! It is Enya’s job to promote the park and Neve’s job to keep everyone safe. But someone has plans to keep them both from doing that! This installment is full of action and suspense that keeps you guessing what is going to happen next and who could be behind it all! We also get a good look at some of the park’s attractions and let me tell you….I want to know if this place is a real thing yet and how do I get an invite??? Because this should definitely be a thing!

Phoebe Alexander knocks it out of the “park” once again! I am so glad there is more to this series because I have fallen in love with these characters and this story line! Looking forward to book 4 and where it will take me next!

Evergreen by Mya O’Malley – Review by Michelle King

EvergreenEvergreen by Mya O’Malley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Evergreen is a sweet, emotional love story with so many lessons to teach us! June, the seemingly backwards, shy, and clumsy girl from the animal shelter isn’t really whom she appears to be. She is, but there is much more to her that she keeps hidden from everyone because she is too afraid of being used and hurt if people find out the truth. Graham is the shy but sexy 6th grade teacher who happens upon a mysterious dog and meets June while taking the dog to the shelter. When the two of them and Maxine get together, things get humorous, serious, and at times, emotional.

This was a wonderful story that teaches us how powerfully our pasts can affect our presents. How animals can bring so much joy to our lives and help us heal old and new wounds. It also shows us the important works that local animal shelters do and how much help they need in order to operate in the most beneficial way for the animals.

I enjoyed this book so much! I could picture everything perfectly. The scenes and characters were written so well, the images are fed to you right from the pages. I highly recommend this short and sweet romance to everyone!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Maddie Wade and India Kells have both hooked a new reader! This is my first experience with these authors and they definitely did not disappoint! When I first read the title, I honestly didn’t know this was part of two other series of books. I will now be reading those separate series! But Deadly Alliance can be read as a standalone. This story is written flawlessly. It combines two elite Special Forces agencies in Fortis and Purgatory and travels from the US to the UK on a joint mission to catch a serial killer. The characters are spectacular and immediately draw you in to their lives. The connection between Shane and Emme…..whew! Turn the air up because it’s getting a bit hot in here!

This story is filled to the brim with twists and turns that you won’t see coming! Definitely a 5 star read that will keep you turning the pages! I can’t wait to read more from these authors! I’m looking forward to learning more about these characters and their worlds.

Hennessey on the RocksHennessey on the Rocks by Monica DeSimone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a heart wrenchingly beautiful love story. When you find your true, one and only love at age 5, how can it possibly last a lifetime? That is what Charlie and Johnnie are trying to figure out. They were, are, and always will be the other half of each other. Yin and Yang. Light and darkness. But then again, don’t we all have a bit of darkness in us? This story explores that darker side. Anger, depression, alcoholism, fear. When we find someone who helps us combat those emotions, someone who brings light into our lives, we try to hold on to them in any way we can.

Charlie is that light to Johnnie. They are divorced but their son and Charlie’s daughter hold them together. The problem is they both have secrets and lies that could tear them apart forever, no matter how much love there is between them. The story isn’t all dark…you will instantly fall in love with Charlie’s daughter Abie. She is a 3 year old force of nature! Super smart and mature for her age, she knows just how to make everything better. She was definitely the star of the story. Making you laugh and smile even when you want to cry because your heart is hurting so badly for this family. And just wait until you see the antics she gets up to with the family pets!

This is truly a wonderful story that I feel I am better off for having read it. I highly recommend it and give it a full 5 stars! You don’t want to miss this one. Just be prepared for all the feels!

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Matt’s Swirly World is a beautifully illustrated short story designed to help parents deal with children’s behavioral issues in a healthy way. I think the illustrations will draw children’s attention and give parents a few talking points with their children. I don’t quite think the wording will hold the attention of the younger age range this book was written for, but their parents will understand and use the language to explain what is going on throughout the book. The use of dragons to teach breathing techniques is extremely smart. And I love the game of counting cars to engage the child in something fun and constructive.

Wayward (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 1)Wayward by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Billionaire Bodyguards series is a spin off from the Torzial Affair books, only told from the point of view of the Bodyguards that take care of the Billionaires. In this first book, we learn Jay’s story. He is the head of security and set to own his own division of the company. He met Sasha in the Torzial books and was infatuated at first sight! He hasn’t been able to forget her or get her out of his mind. Sasha is a ballerina and at least in my opinion, a bit of a weak and needy individual. She has extremely low self-esteem and doesn’t believe that anyone could possibly want her for more than a night. Even though I didn’t care for her character, I did enjoy the book immensely! There is action and adventure, travels around the world, and sexual tension that cannot be ignored! We learn so much more about not only Jay and Sasha, but others from the Torzial Affair books. It was extremely interesting to see the events we read about in the last series from a different perspective. Great start to a new series!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an interesting tale of suspense, mystery, and so many twists and turns, for once, I was unable to even come close to figuring out the ending! It started off a bit slowly and took a while to get into it, but once things started coming together, I couldn’t put it down!

Mina Everton is an outcast in her hometown. Her father disappeared years ago with millions from the towns coffers, or so it seems, and the entire town shunned Mina and her sick mother, holding them responsible for what he did to the town. Only her friend Forbes stuck by her side and is still there for her all these years later, trying to keep her life on track and save her from herself. While he is running for Mayor, he brings in a detective from Sydney to help with a major case that he hopes solving it will get him elected. When Mina and Linc meet, there is undeniable chemistry between the two, but they are from two different worlds and each knows they could never act on their attraction.

This author takes us on a journey through a web of secrets and lies, murder and mayhem, and maybe even a bit of the supernatural! You might think you have it all figured out, but you will be wrong! So don’t bother trying, just read and enjoy the journey! And if you think you see things or hear things in your house while you’re reading…maybe it’s just Spirit there to protect you!

Secrets Never DieSecrets Never Die by Laurie L.C. Lewis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Laurie Lewis has written a masterpiece of suspense and intrigue that keeps you glued to the pages from beginning to end! It keeps your mind spinning with guesses of what is going to happen next and how everything will eventually piece together. It is a complicated plot that will have you a bit frustrated at times because you will want to solve the mystery so badly! I kept wanting to skip to the end and find out how it all works out! But every page is definitely worth the read!

Tallie Brown was raised by a mother who never showed her much love. Or she did in her own way, by raising Tallie to be smart, always aware of her surroundings, and cautious of everyone. They moved around constantly with no explanation until they finally settled in a park ranger station for the past seven years. When Tallie’s mom suddenly dies, Tallie finds secrets hidden within her mother’s belongings that lead her on a dangerous journey to find out her true past. She ends up in a small coal town in West Virginia (the state I live in so this made the story that much more intriguing to me!) where she finds resistance from the towners and where she meets Jackson, a journalist who is also an outsider in town looking for information of his own.

When Tallie and Jackson’s paths cross, they are wary of each other at first but determine they could both use a friend and decide to team up and help each find the information they are looking for. The result is a journey of twists and turns that will keep you up all night in anticipation of what will be revealed next! Five stars from me for Secrets Never Die! So dive in and plan for a sleepless night!

Fisher Men On the X (Book III)Fisher Men On the X by Rebel Nicks O’Dey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third book in the series and is probably my favorite so far! It was definitely the most emotional! I found myself just a bit weepy more times than I can count while reading this one! I have decided I want to be a Fisher Man! You will need to immerse yourself in this series to understand what I’m talking about, but this series revolves around a family whose members escaped a cult like religion known as the Seh. While the things that happen are unrealistic to me, I can’t help but feel for these women and wonder if these types of things truly go on and what I can do to help if they do. This book in the series in the most powerful as both the main characters, Zach and Becca, have a history with the Seh. Seeing the struggle of these people trying to overcome their pasts to become what they are meant to be is both heart wrenching and beautiful.

Each book in this series says it is a standalone, but I do not recommend reading them as such. You really need to start with book one or you will be missing a lot of information that you really need to understand what is going on in the following books. Trust me, it is worth the time! This has been an incredible journey to follow! I have so much respect for these characters and for the author who wrote them. I can’t imagine it was always easy. Don’t worry though! It’s not always emotional…this book had me laughing out loud so much! I am giving this a full five stars and can’t wait for the next book! We get a key piece of info at the end of this story that I am looking forward to exploring in Morgan’s book!

The Fisher Men X-ing Lines (Book #2)The Fisher Men X-ing Lines by Rebel Nicks O’Dey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Fisher Men Xing Lines is the second book in this series and I highly recommend you read the books in order to get the full story. This book focuses on Connor, one of the four Fisher Men, and Rika, a friend of the family who needs a place to stay. The two end up as unlikely roommates as Connor is a wee bit OCD and has to have everything a certain way and Rika turns his world upside down…all without ever actually meeting him! For an entire year, the two are roommates but their schedules never work out to where they are both home at the same time. They talk and text and get to know each other in an unconventional way. They develop great chemistry and had me in hysterics with their banter back and forth!

There is a lot going on in this series and in this book. There are several story lines that run together and you will find yourself completely in tune with this families emotions. One minute you’ll be laughing out loud, the next minute sobbing uncontrollably. This series is about a unique family unit with a dynamic you don’t see much anymore. Strong young men who have been raised to have the utmost respect for all women and to always help them in any way they can, all while showing their appreciation for them. As you read, you will find out who their parents are and why they raise their children the way they do. It is a gripping tale that will break your heart and put it all back together again. I am absolutely absorbed in this series and can’t wait to see where the author goes next with this story line! I am looking forward to hearing the rest of the Fisher Men’s stories!

The Fisher Men X My Heart (Fisher Men Book 1) by Rebel Nicks O’Dey – Review by Michelle King

The Fisher Men X My HeartThe Fisher Men X My Heart by Rebel Nicks O’Dey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely LOVED this book! I was a bit confused by the timeline in the beginning but it works itself out as you continue to read. And that you will definitely do! I lost so much sleep reading this story because I couldn’t put it down! This is a love story of friendship. It’s about always being there for each other, no matter what. Building on childhood friendships and seeing what they become as you grow. It’s a story about survival, strength, courage, and so much more. All of this with a bit of “Gossip Girl” thrown in, aka the Casual Observer! Who is this mystery person???

The four Fisher Men: Morgan, Connor, Xander, and Zack (swooning over them all!) make a vow to always love and protect Samantha, but never date her. It’s a vow they take very seriously and they know if one of them breaks the vow the rest of them would lose her…and that cannot happen. As you are taken on this journey through their lives from childhood to adulthood, you are consumed with emotions for these people. Laughter, sadness, anger, love, hate, sexual tension, and a bit of ugly crying! You feel it all strongly.

This is an extremely well written, emotional, girl-next-door tale. It does contain some material that could be triggers for some people. There is sexual assault and bullying in the younger years. But it is a well told story with lessons we can all learn from. I can’t wait to read more in this series!

Protecting His Heart: a Lawson Family Novel (Lawson Family Series Book 2) by Tracey Cramer-Kelly – Review by Michelle King

Protecting His Heart (Lawson Family, #2)Protecting His Heart by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading the second book in the Lawson Family series, Protecting His Heart. This book really resonated with me because it deals with a subject I have dealt with in my personal life, abuse by a loved one. Ian was abused by his alcoholic father as a child and Rachel is dealing with an abusive boyfriend. I’ve been in both of those situations so I can truly relate to the main characters of this book and how they feel. It seems from the moment they met, Ian and Rachel were meant for each other, but can they overcome their fears and deal with the issues in their lives and make a life together, or will they let their fears and pasts keep them apart?

While reading this small-town romance, you feel as if you are a part of the story. Like this is happening right here in my own small town and these are my friends! I can see them all gathered at our local baseball field playing games and having a few beers. It’s a realistic look at small town life, the closeness of not only family but friends as well. It is a story of faith, love, and most of all, forgiveness. I look forward to reading Ben’s story next and highly recommend this series!

Calling the CurveballCalling the Curveball by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this second chance romance! Jamie Lawson and Kira Walker were such interesting characters to get to know, along with all of their friends and families! Six years after his wife’s death in a car accident that also ended his hopes of a baseball career, Jamie still has not forgiven himself for what happened. He certainly doesn’t feel he is worthy of the attention of the new girl in town!

Kira Walker has also been dealt a pretty bad hand when it comes to relationships. Newly divorced, she decides to leave her city life behind for the summer and visit her sister where she meets the sexy umpire and decides a summer fling might be the thing to do!

There are lots of unexpected events throughout this story that will keep you enthralled up to the last page! You truly get to know the characters and feel like they could actually be your friends. They make you want to be there for them during the bad times and to help them celebrate the good times! Abby and Gabrielle Levesque are identical twins….in looks only! In personality, not so much! Abby is level headed, responsible, always taking care of herself and her sister. She makes sure all the bills are paid and that they somehow keep a roof over their head. The twins inherited their grandmother’s house after she passed and it’s become difficult to keep up on payments and keep the utilities on. It’s especially difficult when her sister is so irresponsible. She’s out with a different guy every night, can’t hold a job, and never remembers to pay bills when she’s supposed to. When she blows off yet another job, the consequence is a case of mistaken identity and a spur of the moment trip to Paris by Abby with Gabrielle’s boss!

Hudson Quinn is Gabrielle’s super-hot, super aggravating, billionaire boss. He has no idea he has grabbed the wrong sister and taken her to Paris as his personal assistant. If he finds out the truth, will he fire “Abby”? What will come of the twins and Abby’s ever increasing feelings for Gabrielle’s boss? This is a great story of mistaken identity. It brings the questions “what are you willing to do for money” and “what are you willing to do to save your childhood memories” to light. I loved this story and the characters and settings depicted throughout. I am looking forward to more of Avery Scott’s works!

While this story is a work of fiction, it is a truly moving tale of a family’s struggles dealing with Alzheimer’s disease. Tangles follows Lois’s life from childhood to the very end of her life. We get an honest look at her thoughts and feelings as she grows up, through her adulthood, through marriage and childbirth and everything in between. We see how this horrible disease affects her relationships with others and how difficult it is for them to deal with it all. Through it all, we find a love story. More than one if I’m being honest. This story is heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time.

Lois’s son Logan is tasked with caring for his ailing mother, and during his time with her discovers some family secrets that are extremely hard to accept. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What an unbelievable ending to this fantastic series! This is book 3 in the Shattered Hearts series and you must read them in order. Each book takes you on an incredible journey through the lives of these people. This final book tore me apart more times than I can count but I came out in the end all put back together again! This author truly knows how to pull every possible emotion out of her readers.

This is ultimately Kris and Chase’s story but all of your favorite characters from the first two books come out to play. I was so involved in the lives of these people. I felt like I was right there with them through everything they were going through. I laughed with them, cried with them, wanted to be there to protect them and help them work through their issues. While I can’t go into details without giving anything away, I will say that this book definitely keeps you turning the pages and won’t let you put it down until the very end. If you try to put it down, it will just drive you crazy because you absolutely have to find out what happens next! There were so many times I wanted to call the author and yell at her! (It’s probably a good thing I don’t have her number!) LOL! I couldn’t quite understand how she could possibly do this to me! But every time I was ready to start screaming and throwing things, she pulled me back from the edge. Just when you think you have it all figured out, it all changes. This story is full of drama and suspense, and plenty of romance and sexual tension that is off the charts hot!

I highly recommend this book and this series. Just be prepared for intense emotional overload! You will fall in love with 90% these characters and feel and see everything through their eyes. You will absolutely hate the other 10%! At least I did! There are still some lingering questions in my mind that I’m going to have to let go of. I would recommend you grab a bunch of friends and start a book club and read this series together so you can discuss it as you go along! Trust me you’ll want someone to rant to! 5 stars. I’m not sure exactly where to begin with this one. There is just so much to this story! I fell in love with these people in book 1 and that carried on into book 2, only much, much deeper! My emotions were all over the place. Love, hate, anger, frustration, betrayal, shock…I’m fairly certain that at several points while reading this book my heart ACTUALLY STOPPED! It felt like it was being ripped right out of my chest! This author gives you absolutely everything.

The chemistry between the characters is off the charts. Angel and Jasmine. Kate and Chase. You find yourself rooting for them, cheering them on, feeling their emotions as intimately as if they were your own. We finally find out the answers to many of the questions that were hanging from book one, but be prepared! You may not want to know them all! Some of these truths will hurt…and quite frankly make you want to punch the author in the face at times! LOL!

I don’t want to say too much about the story and give anything away. If you love well developed characters, romance, and suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat, then start reading! Just make sure you read book one, Shattered, first. Nicole Banks has quickly become a go to author for me and I will most definitely be reading anything she puts out! I can’t wait to start book 3 of this series and see where this journey is going to take me next!

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Michelle King

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin #2)After Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let me start by explaining a little about Alek. He’s dark, dangerous, violent, bloody, destructive, and…I love it! The man has serious issues and takes way too much enjoyment out of what he does and it seriously turns me on! Crazy right??? Gwyn has the uncanny ability to make you completely fall in love with her characters, no matter how gritty, dirty, and bad they are! She has quickly become one of my absolute favorite authors. Even in a quick read such as this one, the story line is so detailed, raw, and emotional that you see and feel every word she writes.

This is book two in the Deadliest Sin series and they must be read in order. Book one left me in shock. Book two, After Wrath, picks up with Aleksander seeking revenge on those who he feels have wronged him. Seeking to unleash the wrath of the Dragon and no one will stand in the way of him reaching his goal. The ending was completely unexpected and left me full of anticipation with how this can all possibly play out! The only thing I know for certain is that it will most certainly not disappoint! This series is gritty, violent, powerfully emotional, thought provoking, and sexy! I can’t wait to delve into Book 3 and see what journey the author takes us on! As is everything else I have read by this author, this is a 5-star must read series!

Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Michelle King

Wrath (The Deadliest Sin #1)Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! I knew going in that this story would be awesome. Every book I’ve read by Gwyn has been and this certainly did not disappoint! This book is a quick read that you won’t put down from page one to the end! It’s definitely NOT your typical happy ending love story but it WILL make you travel through the vast array of human emotions! It’s violent and bloody and a spectacular example of what we are capable of, and what we are willing to sacrifice, in an effort to keep our loved ones safe. I fell in love with these characters. Even after I finished the book, the feelings just simmered in my chest. That anyone could love another person this much… Go ahead and grab this one! You won’t be disappointed. You will possibly go into shock, but won’t be disappointed at all!

Surviving Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 3) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Michelle King

Surviving Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 3)Surviving Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh Gwyn…This is one of my absolute favorite, must-read authors but man…she wrecks me emotionally and mentally every single time!

Surviving Wrath was an exceptionally well written conclusion to the Deadliest Sin series but I want more! I need more! I’m still trying to rationalize with myself that this is truly the end. And what an ending it was! I’m not sure if I’m happy, sad, angry, straight up pissed off, or all of the above. I don’t know exactly how I feel but that’s the thing with this author, she ALWAYS makes you feel!

This is book 3 of this series and they must be read in order. Trust me, once you start book 1, you won’t stop until the last words of book 3! Every minute spent reading will have you on the edge of your seat, heart racing, impatient to find out what is going to happen next. You can’t help but fall in love with all the characters, whether they are good or bad, they become a part of you. You find yourself wishing for certain outcomes for them that they may or may not get. You’ll be happy and heartbroken at the same time. I won’t go into any details about the storyline because I don’t want to give anything away, but you definitely need to read this series! Gwyn McNamee is a stellar writer and never, ever disappoints! More than 5 stars from me!!!!

Shattered (Shattered Hearts Series Book 1) by Nicole Banks – Review by Michelle King

Shattered (Shattered Hearts #1)Shattered by Nicole Banks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What an excellent start to the Shattered Hearts Series! I actually read this book twice in the matter of a week. While this story revolves around Jasmine and Angel, it ultimately is the story of a group of friends that have known each other forever and there are so many things going on, I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything before I start book 2!

Angel swore he would always be there for Jasmine. Since childhood, he has been her protector. But once he joins the marines, he can no longer uphold his promise and tragedy strikes, not only in Jasmine’s life but also in his own. Years later he returns home to find everything has changed. Jasmine is no longer the happy, innocent young girl he left, but a full grown woman that he can’t seem to resist. But there is too much baggage between the two of them that keeps pulling them apart. They each have one single act, one single moment in their lives that has irrevocably changed them. That has made one stop trusting others and one stop trusting themselves. One moment, that when it returns to your thoughts, terrifies you enough that it takes you to the depths of hell and back over and over – in your daydreams and in your nightmares. Can they fight their way through it all and finally be together? Or is it all just too much?

This book takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. You can feel the pain and suffering. You can feel it in your heart when they smile. And this is not the end. There is so much more to explore. What about Kate and Chase? What is Tony’s deal? Who is Marcus? I can’t wait to find out all the answers in the next two books in this series! I am completely emotionally invested in the lives of all these characters. Nicole Banks has me hooked!

Claimed (The Torzial Affair Book 3) by Via Mari – Review by Michelle King

CLAIMED (The Torzial Affair Book 3)CLAIMED by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am so sad to see this trilogy come to an end! I absolutely fell in love with Jenny and Brian while reading this series. I was so immersed in their lives that I felt I had a personal stake in how their story played out! Despite her submissive needs and her trust issues, Jenny is such a strong and caring woman who would do anything to keep her friends safe. And Brian is fiercely loyal and determined to defy the odds and prove to Jenny that she is the only woman for him. And who doesn’t want a hot, sexy, billionaire with a mansion complete with an entire level of playrooms determined to earn your complete trust while satisfying your every sexual desire??? I know I do!

This is an action packed, suspenseful story that will keep you on the edge of your seat trying to guess how it will all play out…but inevitably you will be wrong! Lies, deceit, twists, turns, romance, and sexual intensity. This book has it all! While Claimed ties up Brian and Jenny’s story in a beautiful way, there are so many story lines left to explore. I am looking forward to future works from Via Mari. After reading this series I am most definitely hooked on this author!
