Between Darkness & Light (War of Destiny Book 3) by Theresa Van Spankeren. This is the 3rd book in this series and its really good. Julia is back and her vampire family is shunning her due to things that happened in the previous book. She starts to hear things that no one else can hear so she really thinks she’s losing her mind. When Simon comes up missing she has to enlist the help of Matthew from the Ka-tet family which is the family she betrayed. Julia asking for help is huge because she’s never been good at that. The first book was amazing from start to finish and this one was just as amazing, if not even more! I loved how this one had even more character development and the writing really pulled you in even more!
I personally was hooked with this one. Reading on Desiree and how she really had her light to shine with her determination really shined bright I would say! She became a very determined leader in this one. She had her sights on something and she went after it. Very admirable reading what she was the first round and seeing her now in this round! Theron and Jaxon are wonderful and the three of them made a wonderful trio. They all had different reasons to be who they are and their dealing with vampires. They each contributed to the story in this each own way. I loved this story and the writing that it possessed and words created!
This book was so freaking good! Could not put down! Was in constant anticipation! I loved this book and the writing so much! Highly recommend this must read book! Not to be passed up for sure! Loved it!

First, We Kill All the Lawyers by Seelie Kay is the first book to the Donovan Trait series. The confident, handsome Donovan Trait is a vampire casanova that chose to stop aging at 35 years old, but has been around since the late 1700s. Needless to say, he is very well versed with law… and the judges. But suddenly, someone is killing off lawyers and he has to stop whoever this serial killer is and protect himself and the ones he holds dear. Especially his newfound love, Judge Shirley Magnusen.
This was a very fun read for me and I was pulled in from the very beginning of the story by Donovan’s charm. While I love a good vampire romance, this one struck with me differently. It was unique from any other I had read before. These are not your typical vampires, so don’t expect this to be similar to anything you’ve ever encountered, regardless of how many vampire books you’ve read. Definitely recommend if you love vampires, romance and suspense!

When I saw AD had another book, I jumped at the chance to read it. Blood & Vengeance is the intense second book in this dark series and a great paranormal Vampire romance story. AD does dark paranormal romance well. I loved the mystery, the mythology and historical facts of the Casket Girls from the first book and this one was no different.
Greer, who was stolen from her simple life in Paris and her Dark Knight who has been cursed to live as a blood-sucking vampire, Theron set out to fight for not only their freedom but also those of the casket girls.
AD gives us her version of the Casket Girls from the 1700’s in this twisted dark tale. The beautifully weaved story line is well-developed, the world-building vividly rich, and the characters drew me into the dark side. This compelling story had me hooked from the first book but I think this one was better.
Fear, demon’s, curses, darkness, mystery, are just some of what you will find in this gripping tale that the most hardened paranormal reader will love.

Brazeau – Review by Jenni Bishop
I found this story to be very intense and dramatic. One of the Casket Girls, Desiree is now hunting the remaining vampires with Theron. She has brought herself through a rough life only to be kidnapped and brought to another life in New Orleans. Theron is doing his best to keep her safe while Greer is in the Underworld for her 3 months. My favorite part of the story is when Desiree laughs and tells Jaxon that Theron is the grumpy older brother when he asks if they have a relationship. That is the best way to describe them. During their hunt, the vampire that fed off Greer came and tried to kill her. Jaxon came to her rescue. Of course, he had a little favor to ask. This led to more of an adventure after they finished their vampire mission. This story has the best adventures. I found myself enjoying all the mystery, suspense, and having to see what happened next. Jaxon brought the next adventure. He and Desiree had some serious sparks at play. Of course, had to keep those under wrap so no one knew. The story is well-written. It even kept with Book 1 of the series. The plot was smooth with no chunkiness. Toss some romance into the story with a few witches and you have the best paranormal, romantic, suspense that I’ve read in a while. I can’t wait for book 3. I felt the sparks between Lucian and Fossette kick in also. Fantastic series. I would recommend to all my paranormal romance lovers and all my paranormal fans.

After being freed from her casket girl nightmare, Desiree is ready to take on the remaining nest of vampires still feeding on the citizens of New Orleans. She and Theron, lonely with his love in the Underworld, partner together to root out, and slay, the last of the bloodsuckers.
Jaxon, a vampire ready for a new life, joins Theron and Desiree as they finish off their enemies. His only request – for Theron to teach him how to survive without killing. As Jaxon falls for Desiree, he must also fight off his past, a formidable witch called the Mistress who wants Jaxon back at all costs. What price is Jaxon willing to pay to save his new friends and protect the woman who has changed him, body, and soul?
Blood & Vengeance, a dark, paranormal romance, takes place in 1728 New Orleans. This is book two of The Casket Girls Series.

This is the first book that i have read from the author and I loved every minute of it. I was not able tp put the book down, i had to finish it all in one sitting. First, We Kill All the Lawyers is the first book in the Donovan Trait series by Seelie Kay and it really was an amazing read. This is a paranormal romantic suspense, a great murder mystery with vampires, lawyers, crime and investigation, a serial killer, hidden agendas, revenge, shifters, politics, and all woven with a very original take on vampire lore. Donovan Trait is a highly respected lawyer- a superstar in courtroom circles, but there is more to him than meets the eye. For one, he’s a vampire who’s over 300 years old. The bodies are piling up, with no idea who could be targeted next. Donovan will need to do something to draw out the killer, especially if he is to protect those he cares about. What ensues makes for a gripping and suspenseful read. Add in the intriguing vampire lore details, the other paranormal elements, and a sweet romance I was hooked. The ending leaves an opening for more. I can’t wait to see what the author has instore for this series.

In the third installment, Julia is plagued by apparitions that only she can see and hear. This causes her to betray people she calls family to Valentino, The King of Vampires.
The last thing Matthew wants to see is Julia after her betrayal. He is finally building a new life for himself.
I really enjoyed this novel. I couldn’t stop myself from reading. The author has a way of making one invested in the characters and the consequences of their actions.
I don’t want to give too much away but I highly suggest reading this series.
I saw that there will be a fourth novel and I am really excited.

The first time I’m reading a book from this series. I really appreciated the prolog which helped me figure out a bit about the main character and how her vampire family was bound together for a purpose. Julia shares her troubles and learns to ask for help which is new to her. I felt a connection to Julia and her family as they work together. Overall I enjoyed the book even though I may have missed the earlier books.

I think that I actually liked this sequel even more than the debut installment. It really feels like the footing was found. Which is strange, because it already felt like that with the first novel! Haha! It gave me strong Ghosts (both CBS & BBC versions) vibes. I love how interactive Morgan and others are with their otherworldly counterparts. And that the spirits are so active in their own investigations. Morgan’s roommates are amazing to read. I don’t want to give too much away in terms of spoilers, so I will just say that I cannot wait for the next novel in the series.

This is the first book that I have read from this author, and this book quickly became of my favorites. I literally was not able to put this book down long enough to eat, I had to read this entire thing in one go. This is a nerd turned alpha situation of a story. If you are into books where the underdog bullied nerd becomes the hero, this is the story for you. The way the author had written this story is like you are feeling everything the character is feeling and seeing. The heartbreaks, challenges, and how the character overcomes everything that is thrown his way. I really recommend this story for everyone. I can’t wait to see what else this author has instore for future books.
Morgan is at it again. This time there is a dark apparition, Esmeralda that has set her sights on Caleb and that could not be good. She has now begun seeing more ghosts at the hospital and there are ghosts starting to cause issues. She has begun to see the nurses from the past that worked during the war at the hospital and she is not sure what to make of this new occurrence yet. Could everything go wrong or will Morgan be able to get everything under control.

Seventy years after the end of the first novel, Julia has lived in peace as her powers develop more. But the peaceful days come to an end when Valentino arrives to destroy the threat to his leadership. When fleeing fails, fighting is the only option.
It has been a long time since I read the first novel, however, I was able to keep up and enjoy this novel.
I still have a soft spot for vampire stories and the originality gives this a refreshing and engaging feel while reading.
I see there is a third novel. I look forward to seeing what happens next.

Another great read from this author! I love her work and this book was just amazing. The cover is gorgeous and eye catching- and was what inspired me to read it. (I do often pick books based on covers.) It was beautifully written and the world the author created was fascinating to dive into. I’m a big fan of star crossed lovers and when you throw in a mermaid? Obsessed. There was so much going on- not only with the main characters but the side characters as well. It really was a hard book to put down. I can’t wait to read the rest in this series! If you’ve read books from her before, you will not be disappointed! And if you haven’t- check this one out!

Little Mermaid for the next generation. A star-crossed lover’s tale on several accounts. Maris and Kasper, the Mermaid princess and the human man who has given up everything to find a cure for his brother. Pasha and Ryn, a low caste mermaid who’s never understood why she is so despised and a merman of royal blood. This tale has betrayal, magic, and lover’s drama. It’s definitely for a slightly more mature audience as there are some scenes that get steamy, but it doesn’t dip into the full erotic. It’s a beautiful balance that I feel will definitely appeal to the High-school crowd and beyond. With an amazing cast of well written characters, and scenery that makes you want to head for Haiti, this is one beautifully written tale. I can’t wait to see what the other 11 books will be!

I’m grateful that I got to read this book , not my normal scene and what a refreshing read it was after the tense week of reading I had , was emotionally done but my bibliophile heart and quiver was full ❤️📕😉
The cover art is just beautiful and in between the pages you get transported to magical places with magical beings ….
There’s such a mix going on of mythology, astrology and mere folk then added to it is romance , drama , secrets , truths

I thoroughly enjoyed this paranormal romance which was an intriguing mix of romance, drama, adventure and Greek mythology and myths, such as Atlantis, all of which had me hooked. The story is told from multiple points of view, which made me feel engaged with each of the main characters. Kasper, is on a quest to travel the world and swim to the deepest depths, as he has been told that in Greek mythology, there is a water healer under the zodiac sign of Aquarius, who he hopes can heal his dying brother. Maris, has found out her fiancé, the man her father wants her to marry, is cheating on her, and is now unsure whether to go against her father. Maris knows that fighting for her opinion to be heard will not change anything, but maybe running away will. Meanwhile, her best friend Pasha is living with the knowledge that the man she loves is intended for her friend. She has to decide whether to sacrifice her own happiness for theirs, knowing that a future of following rules will make her miserable. Then there is Ryn, in line to be king, but only if he marries someone he doesn’t love gives up the one he does. He has to decide if making it work is worthwhile, especially as the princess he’s to marry seems to be destined for more than he can offer her, but maybe he could help her. This is an immersive read, with the wonderfully descriptive narrative bringing the setting and the characters vividly to life. It’s an original storyline which flows well and had me gripped from start to finish. An enjoyable and entertaining read, which I definitely recommend.

This is a were wolves alpha paranormal romance. The author does a great job of world building and the characters are really well written. I felt so sorry for Nolan. He has always been overlooked and bullied for not being the next Alpha of the pack. It isn’t until his brother passes that anyone pays attention to him. He now has to fight for his life to prove he is worthy of being the pack Alpha. Along his journey he has many obstacles and fights to go against to prove himself. As well as revenge his brothers death and finding his fated mate. Can Nolan finally step out of his brothers shadow and prove himself a strong alpha or will he fail and remain seen as the runt of the little who isn’t fit to lead the pack.
Our doctors are back and I was so eager to read their story. Book 2 was just as good if not better than book 1.
Morgan has accepted her newfound ability and is now sharing her home with her resident ghosts. Her and Caleb have also began exploring something of a romantic nature although Morgan has doubts about her “Mr. Too Good to Be True.” As things start to finally calm something or “someone” new turns up from the ghostly world and her sights are set on Dr. Cutler’s man. All the turn of events push Morgan and Caleb even closer and have them starting to think about their future as well as things around them. This book was such a fun read with great strong characters and a storyline that kept you interested. I will be picking up more from this author in the future.

A wonderful story of four young beings who go out on an adventure to save the brother of one of their group. I got hooked into the story fairly quickly and enjoyed the many aspects the author incorporated into the story like mermaids, paranormal beings, and so much more. I’ve always been interested in astrology so it was fitting to begin reading this book. The story kept me interested and I had a hard time putting the book down. I have read a book or two by this author before and this one didn’t disappoint. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I really like how this book had a unique and refreshing view of a shifter story. It is a genre that is over done so to find something with a fresh take is always good. I enjoyed the writing style of the book. I really connected with the characters, especially Nolen. I felt his journey and everything he went through. The book has so much going on it was definitely exciting to read. I would highly recommend this book.
Nurse Morgan is still trying to adjust to her newly discovered abilities to see, communicate with, and help ghosts both at home and in her job as a nurse. Not only can she now see ghosts and auras, but she can also now see time loops and even interact with the ghosts who are stuck in them. However, as her new relationship with Dr. Caleb Lightfoot, progresses, a new ghost at home, and at work, causes issues for everyone in both planes. Esmeralda is a man obsessed ghost who is determined to get what, and who, she wants. When she sets her eyes on Caleb, Morgan knows she has to do something to get rid of her. She’s only further assured that she’s on the right path when Esmy starts causing issues at the hospital, from pushing patients to cross over, to inappropriately touching patients and staff members and shattering glass and harming hospital workers. Morgan is going to need help from her friends to handle this particular problem, both living and ghost.

That is, as long as resident spirits Elisabeth and Jonathan Wilkerson abide by the rules and limitations. On top of that, the house, car, and hospital are filled with ghosts—some of whom are up to no good. Morgan has to keep the balance in her head, life, career, and universe as she battles the demands placed on her by this world and the next.
Will this apparition take away the best relationship Morgan has ever had? Will Esmeralda turn the Wilkersons against her? Will the ghost destroy the hospital Morgan cherishes? This was a decent book. I absolutely loved the storyline! But I had a few issues with this one. First of all, Maris forgave Pasha way too fast to me. I could never. Saying it like this to avoid spoilers, anyway. The story was very fast paced. And while it made this a very quick read, everything felt super rushed and some parts of the plot just kind of ran together to mebecause of that. I feel like if it was slowed down just a tad it would have made the plot better. I loved the mermaid and human aspect! I rarely see novels about mermaids so this was definitely refreshing and I enjoyed that. So while I really want to rate this higher I just can’t because of my frustration with some of the characters, because I really wanted to shake some sense into them, lol!

Its the third book 9f the series and the author is still catching me off guard. As things gets even stranger the emotions run high. Her writing style still amazes me. It reminds me alot of the old gothic novels which I really love. One of the best paranormal series!

I love how the author opens up her books. Very unique. After reading book 1 i was nervous about what author was found to put me and her characters through. If you want unpredictable and original, this series is for you. I love the character development and the plot as well. Great writing style.
