Stage Mom: A Single Mom Romantic Comedy by K.L. Montgomery is the sixth book in the Romance in Rehoboth series. These books can all be read as standalone although I think you should definitely read them all as they are that good! I loved Larissa! She is everything I want to be in a mum – she is strong and willing to fight tooth and nail for her daughter. And yet I found that she has such a sweet side to her. She had been through so much and yet was able to find a way past all of that to see new possibilities. It worked well between her and Mateo – they complimented each other perfectly. Their story was entertaining and very amusing! The author has such a great writing style and always knows the right pace needed for her characters. This is a brilliant series and one I have really enjoyed. I would highly recommend reading it!

Wedding War by K.L. Montgomery is the fifth book in the Romance in Rehoboth series. This is a fun, entertaining series that will have you laughing and crying in equal measure. These books are all standalones however they are all worth reading! This book has to be my favourite in the series. Hannah and Jason are such an entertaining couple. The chemistry between them could be felt on each page. They were so engaging that I couldn’t help but connect with them. As with all the books in this series the author has done a great job of creating a brilliant story. The whole things makes you feel like you are there. If you haven’t already done so then you really need to read these books today!

K.L. Montgomery’s Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3) includes Fat Girl, The Flip and Plot Twist. I’ve read of the books within this set and each was thoroughly enjoyable – highly recommend. Here’s a summary of my thoughts of each of these books in this boxed set.
Fat Girl Fat Girl, by K.L. Montgomery, is Claire Sterling’s story. She is almost 40, divorcing her husband, moving back home, and veering back into the dating scene via online. However, she fears that she will always be a fat girl.
Most of us can relate to this story in some shape or form. We have all looked in the mirror at one point and seen ourselves as others do, some piece of disappointment in ourselves. A failed marriage with a cheating ex-husband and now being a single mom venturing back into dating trying for a new relationship. Insecurities abound and trying to find a way to respect herself and love herself inside and out.
K.L. Montgomery touches on real life issues. It is in your face, right there in front of you, in black and white on the pages. Claire’s character definitely has many roadblocks in her life that she has to knock down, move around or avoid. She’s courageous to move into dating at a later age and the unknowns of whether a person is truthful or hiding something. There were many times in the midst of reading this story that I wanted to sit right next to Claire and ask her what would you tell me… and then, don’t you think you should do the same for yourself?
Fat Girl offers several laughable moments. If you aren’t quite sure on your next book to read, I would recommend this book as everyone should be able to relate to some piece or part of this story.
The Flip The Flip, by K.L. Montgomery, is the second book in the Romance in Rehoboth series. This romantic comedy features Andrew and Sonnet with their relationship shifts from that of high school dynamics of dislike to something that changes in a way neither of them anticipated.
The characters are well developed and I felt that their chemistry flowed smoothly and was not forced. I honestly enjoyed their antics in the story. This author does a good job in their writing for this series/story. I did previously read Fat Girl, the first book of the series. The Flip was as good as the previous book and I loved the characters of Andrew and Sonnet. K.L. Montgomery is great at romantic comedies and kept me on my toes and laughing through this novel. The story was addictive and a true page turner.
Plot Twist K.L. Montgomery’s Plot Twist is the third novel in the Romance in Rehoboth series. The author overlaps several characters that appeared previously in the series in subsequent books as supporting cast members. I enjoyed how these characters overlapped between books. Within Plot Twist, the main cast includes Meric and Lindy; this romantic comedy has all the major elements, to have you laughing to wiping stray tears, to wondering what in the heck that last conversation was?! The build up in this story was well paced and created allure and intrigue into possibly where the author was planning to take these main characters and when they would peak and/or plummet. The story was fun, inspirational, and everything in between.

This set all revolves around the area around Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Book One is about Claire, a woman whom is freshly divorced, forced to live with her parents again, and forty is looming right around the corner. Not to mention that she has always been the fat girl. The one good thing — her job as a blogger. She decides she wants to change befor she hits that ominous number. Her plan — to lose some weight, and be happy again. Will she be able to find happiness and romance again?
Book Two finds two childhood enemies reunited after the death of Aunt Penny. She willed them both her house, and now they are forced to work together to update the house and make it able to flip. A few weeks together renovating a house and then they’ll never have to deal with each other again. That is doable, isn’t it? Or is Aunt Penny still manipulating things from her grave?
In Book Three, Lindy has always considered herself to be the fat friend. But she loves her two best friends and when they keep bugging her, she finally joins them in auditioning for a musical a new local theater group is putting together. It can’t be too bad right?She can just stand in the background and sing, if she even makes it. Plus there is some great eye candy. Meric has been burned by his ex-wife. He is a geeky accountant by day, but he finally feels the pull again of the theater. Will this musical, and maybe the gorgeous Lindy, make him feel again?
This was my first introduction to this author and I won’t lie, I mainly started this series because I live near Rehoboth Beach. I enjoy a good romance, but it is not my favorite genre. These books and this author have completely changed my ideas and mind about romance! They are fun, the characters are sarcastic and so loveable. Each book has a different story too, not just the same story with different leads. Plus they all interconnect, characters from previous books make an appearance in the newer ones. Not only that, but each book can be read as a standalone if you prefer to read them out of order. (I admit, I was a bad girl and read book two first!).
If you like fun romance with great, crazy characters, this set is for you!

These three wonderful books feature three lovely leading ladies in the beautiful coastal town of Rehoboth Beach! Each woman has a full length story of her own to read. So, meet Claire, Sonnet and Lindy, the lovely ladies of Rehoboth. If you like a good romance, feisty women, beautiful beach towns and stories with an awesome message, then this is the trilogy for you! I never knew reading a romance book could make me feel better about myself by KL Montgomery has written three wonderful books that are super body positive and it was just what I needed to read! These women are strong, smart and sassy so they make the perfect people to read about! So, do yourself a favor and buy this boxed set today! Sonnet is a career driven perfectionist. Andrew is a late twenties bartender who lives with his parents. Sonnet and Andrew grew up together and have hated each other for years after competing for every academic achievement in their school careers. The only thing that kept them close during school was Andrew’s Aunt Penny who was Sonnet’s next door neighbor. Aunt Penny has big plans in store for them and the trouble ensues! This book was such a fun, quick read! I love the whole enemies finding a common ground and becoming friends trope, especially when it involves such interesting characters as Sonnet and Andrew. This is the second book in the Romance in Rehoboth series, but doesn’t necessarily need to be read in order. I recommend reading “Fat Girl” first so you get a better feel for some characters that are in both books. Sonnet is such an amazingly bright and complex character to read about. I loved hers and Andrews’ passions in life and how driven they are by them. This book truly was just enjoyable to read! I give “The Flip” five stars!! Reviewed by @emilybee430
Wow! What a fun book! As a lover of musical theatre, this book was right up my alley. I used to do plays and musicals in high school and this book really took me back to all the fun, all the drama and all the friends I made during theatre. This book is about Lindy, an overweight teacher who is too scared to try out for a major role but certainly has the chops for it! Meric is a slightly OCD accountant recovering from heartbreak, and is captivated by Lindy when he hears her sing. This book has all the common pitfalls of community theatre and oh so much more! I really loved reading about these characters and what the show means to them. As a warning, this book is the third in the Romance in Rehoboth series and I highly recommend reading the first two books to get a feel for the area and the people who crop up. This is such a fun series and I love every minute of it! So, of course, I give K.L Montgomery’s “Plot Twist” five stars!! Reviewed by @emilybee430
“Fat Girl” is an inspiring tale of growth and inner strength by K.L. Montgomery. Our “Fat Girl” is Claire, who has battled body image issues from a young age and finds herself at 38 and desperately needing to reinvent her life. She is a wise, witty and wacky character who I ended up really relating to by the end of the book. The story reads like a diary, a nearly weekly account of Claire’s attempts to change her life. While the story tends to get long winded in parts, I found the details to really help explain how Claire thinks and how she acts. This is a story I feel like many women can relate to on some level. Whether their love life is in trouble or the battle with weight and body image issues, I feel many women could benefit from reading this. As a person who struggles with weight, I knew this book would speak to me. I had no idea just how much I would get from this story though. Claire seems like she could be any one of us and that makes her so relatable! So, I give “Fat Girl” five stars!!
The Flip is the second book in the Romance in Rehoboth series by K.L. Montgomery, and it s a contemporary romance novel. The story is about a young man named Andrew or “Drew”, and a woman named Sonnet, who are both 29 years old, have known each other since they were young children, and used to hang out at Andrew’s Great Aunt Penny’s house after school and all day during the summer. Sonnet and her parents used to live next door to Penny until her parents sold the house and moved to Florida while Sonnet was in college. Aunt Penny recently died and left her house that is a couple of blocks from the Rehoboth Beach to Andrew and Sonnet. Andrew and Sonnet were “mortal enemies” when they were growing up. Andrew used to tease Sonnet all of the time, especially when his friends were with him. As they got older, Andrew developed a crush on Sonnet, but he would never have let her know about it. Sonnet was a bit overweight, had acne, frizzy hair, and wore thick glasses, back then but she has always been very smart. Sonnet was her high school class’ valedictorian, with Drew coming in second by only a hair. Drew was naturally smart, never having to study, he was the quarterback on the football team, and he could make friends with just about anyone. On graduation day, as Sonnet was walking up to the podium to give her valedictorian speech, Andrew stuck his foot out and tripped Sonnet, causing her to fall across the stage. Sonnet was extremely embarrassed, but she got up and gave her speech, but she’s hated him ever since. Andrew is not too fond of Sonnet either since she always has to be right. When he sees her in the lawyer’s office he is shocked, one of the reasons being because she is so beautiful that he almost doesn’t recognize her. Sonnet has lost a lot of weight, her hair is straight, her skin has cleared up, and she is wearing contact lenses. Sonnet recognizes Drew but he is not as fit as he had been when she last saw him, in fact he’s actually put on a few pounds since high school. After the lawyer gives them each a key to Penny’s house, they realize that if they both want to get the house sold and split the money between them, they must somehow learn to get along and restore this house together. Can Sonnet and Drew get along long enough to flip Aunt Penny’s house?
I really enjoyed this novel from K.L. Montgomery. The chapters were written in Andrew and Sonnet’s point of view which gives the reader a unique insight into what the characters are thinking. All of the characters that we meet in this book have depth and are interesting. The story is interesting, entertaining, is not predictable, and sometimes caused me to laugh out loud. I highly recommend this novel.
Fat Girl is the first book in the Romance in Rehoboth series by K.L. Montgomery. It is a contemporary romance novel. The story is about a 39 year old woman named Claire, and she writes a blog on the internet. Claire recently separated from her soon to be ex-husband, Jeremy. Claire has a teenaged son, who is in high school and his name is Elliott. Elliott lives in Lewes, Delaware with his mom, in his grandparents home, while Claire saves money to buy a house for the two of them in the Rehoboth Beach area. Elliott visits his father, who still lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, in the home that Elliott grew up in, one or two weekends a month. Claire found out that her husband was cheating on her when she found a phone in Jeremy’s gym bag, while she was looking for his dirty clothes to put into the wash. When Claire confronted Jeremy about the fact that he was cheating on her, he didn’t even try to deny it. Jeremy was cheating with a young woman who belonged to the same gym that Jeremy and Claire belonged to, and she was much younger than him. Claire had wanted to try to save their marriage, but Jeremy told her that he would plan to still see his mistress, so Claire thought it best to end their marriage, since he clearly didn’t love her any more, since he wanted to keep seeing this woman. Claire felt that maybe Jeremy wouldn’t have started the affair if she wasn’t fat. Claire was now seeing a therapist several times a week, Dr. Dawn, whose office was close to her parents’ home in Lewes, to help her to learn to deal with the end of her marriage and with other problems.
Claire had been fat since she was at least nine years old, and she had been teased and bullied a lot in her childhood because of it. Even her mother, who was tall and thin, like Claire’s younger sister, Emma, gave her a hard time about her weight. These things caused Claire to start an unhealthy habit to lose weight starting when she was a teenager. Claire would hardly eat anything and then exercise like crazy. Sometimes she felt really weak and light-headed because of it, but she would try to ignore that, and carry on with her plan to lose weight. Even though her plan for losing weight was obviously unhealthy, Claire’s mom had to have noticed since Claire was not eating many meals when she was home, but her mother said nothing to Claire about her unhealthy eating and exercising routine. Now that she is living back in Lewe’s, Claire’s best friend, Jean-Marc Tasse, has helped her a lot, too. She could always go to his house to vent or laugh at whatever was bothering her, and he was the first person that she told about the offer that she has gotten to write a column for a famous newspaper in New York.
Claire felt that she was ready to date again, but because she was a writer and she could stay at home to work, she didn’t have the opportunity to meet men. Jean-Marc told her about a dating site, that he uses, and Claire decided to try it out. The first man that she meets from the site is a man named Jack. Jack teaches music at a private school called the Delmarva Academy, he’s 35 years old, divorced, and he has a 3 year old daughter who lives in Texas with her mother. Claire sees Jack about once a week because they feel comfortable getting to know each other and they become friends, but Claire is starting to feel attracted romantically towards him, too. She feels that Jack probably isn’t attracted to her physically because of her weight. Will Claire get the chance to become romantically involved with Jack? Will she begin to deal with her body image issues?
I really enjoyed this book by K.L. Montgomery. I’ve had body image issues my whole life, and was bullied about my weight a lot by my sister, neighborhood kids, and adults. I even dieted in an unhealthy manner during my senior year of high school, losing almost 40 pounds in 3 months. I enjoyed how the author dealt with Claire’s weight issues since I can definitely relate. I believe that this is a wonderful romance novel that everyone would love, and even though it is the first book in the series, it is definitely a stand-alone novel.
Badge Bunny is the fourth book in the Romance in Rehoboth series, and it is a contemporary romance novel by K.L. Montgomery. It is the story of a 29 year old young man named Christopher “Chris” Everson. Chris is a Delaware State Trooper who has lived in the Rehoboth Beach community since he was adopted at the age of 8 years old. Both of Chris’ birth parents were killed in a car accident by a drunk driver. One of the reasons that Chris became a State Trooper is so that he can arrest as many drunk drivers as he can, so that he can try to prevent these drunk drivers from killing any more innocent people and ruining any more lives. Chris is also the author of a successful series of children’s books under the pen name of C.J. Evans. Chris has kept the fact that he is a children’s book author a secret from all of his friends and family, even going so far as to wear a disguise when he appears at book signings. He knows that if they were ever to find out that he was a children’s book author that they would forever give him a really hard time, and even call him names. As part of Chris’ job as State Trooper he sometimes must accompany accident victims or people who have been assaulted to the Lewes Hospital Emergency Room. On one of these occasions occurs when Chris meets a very attractive female ER physician named Dr. Brynne Miller, MD, whom he mistakingly assumes is a nurse in the ER. When Chris tries to ask Brynne out on a date since he is very attracted to her and can’t stop thinking about her, she refuses him and says that she will never date another cop again. Chris is determined to change Brynne’s mind about going out on a date with him.
This story is also about Dr. Brynne Miller, MD, who is a 32 year old physician in the ER at the Lewes Hospital in Lewes, Delaware. Brynne has worked in the Lewes Hospital’s ER for several years and loves everything about her job except the crazy hours that she has to work. Brynne moved to Lewes so that she could be closer to her older brother, Ben, and his wife, Jamie, who are the only family that she has. Brynne’s parents divorced when she was a senior in high school, and neither parent has remained in hers or her brother’s lives since she left for her freshman year of college. Brynne has recently broken up with a man named Todd, who is a police officer who she met in the course of her job. Brynne says that she meets most of the men that she dates in the ER, and most of the men happen to be cops. In fact, due to the fact that Brynne dates so many cops, her friends and acquaintances in the ER have nicknamed her a “Badge Bunny”. After Brynne meets Christopher Everson in the ER and he asks her out on a date the next time she sees him there, she tells him that she won’t date any more cops because she believes that they are arrogant, sexist, jerks – she also doesn’t want to be called a “Badge Bunny”, but she doesn’t tell him that. Even though she believes that Chris is also one of those jerk cops, and even calls him, “Trooper Asshat” to herself when she thinks about him, Brynne is still thinking about him, which bothers her a lot, and recognizes that she is physically attracted to him even if she doesn’t want to be. Will Chris be able to convince Brynne that he is not a jerk like those other cops that she has dated, and get her to go out on a date with him?
I very much enjoyed this fourth book in the “Romance in Rehobeth” series by K.L. Montgomery. Even though I have read all of the books in the series, it is not necessary to have read them to enjoy this stand-alone romance novel. I really liked that the author has the characters of Chris and Brynne tell the story from each of their perspectives, too. Brynne is a strong and very smart woman, and Chris doesn’t fit into the category of a “typical” cop, since he is also a children’s book author, which is another reason that I really enjoyed this book. I also like reading more about the couples that I’ve met in some of the author’s previous books in this series. I definitely recommend this book to readers who enjoy a good romance novel as much as I do.
Plot Twist is the third book in the Romance in Rehoboth series by K.L. Montgomery, and it is a contemporary romance novel. The story is about a woman who is 32 years old named Lindy Larson, who lives in Lewes, Delaware, and she is an English teacher at The Delmarva Academy. Lindy lives with her elderly parents, and takes care of them since they have medical issues and memory problems. Lindy decides to audition for a part in an original play called “Yo Ho Rehoboth”, written by local author, Claire Reilly, and her husband, Jack, who is a music teacher at The Delmarva Academy. The play is to open in 8 weeks. Since Lindy has the summer off and has nothing better to do, she decides to audition for the musical along with her friends Megan and Heather. Lindy loves Broadway shows and has a beautiful singing voice, but she is very insecure about her appearance since she is overweight and considers herself to be fat, uncoordinated, and unattractive. Lindy doesn’t expect to get any type of leading role because of her appearance, even though many people have complimented her on her amazing singing voice. Lindy ends up being cast in the chorus as do Heather and Megan, but she is extremely nervous about learning the choreography since she has always had a difficult time with dance. On the night of the cast introductions Lindy notices the quite handsome and very fit man named Meric, who is one of the male leads in the musical. But Lindy feels that someone who is so confident and good looking as Meric could never be interested in a fat, boring woman like her.
The story is also about a man who is recently divorced, whose name is Meric Chandler, who is 35 years old, and is an accountant. Meric’s ex-wife, Suzanne, and his ex-best friend, Bryan, (who was also his business partner in their accounting firm), were caught together in Suzanne and Meric’s bed by Meric, and Suzanne is now pregnant with Bryan’s child; as soon as the divorce was final, Suzanne and Bryan got married. Meric is not planning on having a romantic relationship any time soon, and he certainly isn’t going to have a backstage romance, especially since that’s the way he met his ex-wife, Suzanne. Meric is auditioning for one of the lead roles in “Yo Ho Rehoboth” since he is a great tenor, and has been in many community musical theater productions. Meric is good friends with Drew, the owner of the Delmarva Art Connection where the play will be performed, and where Meric has starred in other musicals. Meric ends up being cast as one of the male leads in the play, and on the night of the cast introductions he notices a pretty woman in the chorus named Lindy, but he also notices that she appears to be quite shy and that she gets embarrassed very easily. Will Meric and Lindy become friends by opening night, or will their mutual attraction for one another lead to a romantic relationship?
I really enjoyed this novel by K.L. Montgomery. I enjoyed the way she wrote the novel by letting Lindy and Meric tell the story in their alternating points of view. All of the characters are multi- dimensional and interesting, and even though this book is the third in a series, it can be read as a stand- alone book. I definitely would recommend this book if you love reading romance novels.
Badge Bunny is the fourth book in K.L. Montgomery’s Romance in Rehoboth series. As it can be read as a standalone then this is what I did – I was intrigued by the title and the synopsis and thought, hi, let’s see what spin the writer will take us on! And of course, she did not disappoint! I absolutely love stories with strong and independent heroines that are not waiting around to be saved! Add to this a bit of humour and comedy and what else does one need – you have a top notch Rom Com/Enemies to Lovers story! Badge Bunny is the story of the ER doctor Brynne Miller aka the ‘Badge Bunny’ and Chris Everson who is a state trooper and who managed to piss off Brynne within 2 seconds of meeting her! So how do you get over that first impression that is compounded with follow up meetings where Chris manages to annoy the heck out of Brynne? Well, you put them together in major crisis that simply demands that they need to work together to handle it! I think I need to pick up the first three books of the series as I absolutely fell in love with that tears and laughter combination and real life size and believable characters!

Badge Bunny is the latest instalment in the ‘Romance in Rehoboth’ series by K.L Montgomery. It is such a great Rom Com/Enemies to Lovers story- and has taken top billing as my favourite of Ms. Montgomery’s books, so far. It could definitely be read as a standalone, even though it is the fourth book in the collection, as the series is made up of standalone stories- each book centres on its own particular couple, but the common factor is that the stories are all are set against the backdrop of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. But, I really do recommend reading all the other books too- because they are wonderful stories in their own rights. Brynne Miller is a busy ER Doctor, who has a penchant for a man in uniform, dating so many that she’s earned the nickname of “Badge Bunny’ (which she hates). But, Brynne has decided that they’re all the same, full of themselves- and has sworn off them all. Chris Everson is a State Trooper who is a bit of a man’s-man. There is a lot more to him than meets the eye. His job means he frequents the ER on ‘business’. He’s immediately attracted to Brynne, but she is quite prickly and doesn’t give him a chance. Brynne’s first impression of Chris was less than impressive- he annoys and frustrates her. But these two find themselves at the same wedding- and a major crisis demands that they work together to handle the situation. With them both keeping things close to their chests, what happens when everything is revealed? Will Brynne let go of her first impression of Chris, admit that she’s attracted to him, and give him a chance? Does romance ever stand a chance of developing? As I have said many times now, Ms. Montgomery is a masterful storyteller- easily able to tempt readers into her story and keep them completely hooked right from the beginning, till the very last word. I love how her story depicts characters that are realistic, believable, and relatable…. The fact that characters from other books also make appearances, is just the icing on the cake- getting to glimpse a little of what’s happening in their life too. Superb!

Plot Twist by K L Montgomery is the third book in the Rehoboth series and follows the story of Lindy and Merc and how something happens when you least expect it.
There is a new production coming to town and Lindy is normally backstage but her friends are determined to help her and get her to audition for the main show, the only thing is being a plus size girl she would rather just blend into the background.
Merc is just getting over his divorce and is now the lead in this production he is trying not to get involved with anyone in the production because that’s never really worked well for him in the past but there is just something about Lindy that just want leave him alone.
The story goes through the twists and turns of the relationship and the chemistry of these two characters just jumps off the page. I love the witty, sassy comebacks from these two will have you laughing out loud. I love the books by this author and with the well written story and brilliant developed characters will have you downloading the rest of the series.
K.L. Montgomery’s Badge Bunny is the fourth book within the Romance in Rehoboth series. This romantic comedy was fun of snarky banter, sexy innuendos, lusty forbidden thoughts and then the dam breaks. I really liked some of the tiny details that were added within this story to give it something more with a little bit of flair. The references to “bunny” in this story were absolutely hilarious and loved it. The story flowed without any detours and I enjoyed the pacing. K.L. Montgomery is excellent with her ingenuity of this series and each of the individual characters as their stories unfold. This story is my favorite within the set, so far.

Badge Bunny, Romance in Rehoboth Book 4, by K.L. Montgomery. This is the fourth book in the Romance in Rehoboth series. I have read many many books by this author and I absolutely loved them all. This book was so much fun to read. I was really looking forward to reading about Chris. He has always come off as the rough and tough cop but we definitely see a different side to him in this book. Throw in a sexy doctor that is trying to stay away from cops, and you have a funny and romantic book…. I can not wait to see what comes next!!!
Plot Twist is the third book in the ‘Romance in Rehoboth series by K.L Montgomery. It is a really fun and light-hearted romantic comedy. Romance in Rehoboth is a series of standalone stories where each book centres on its own particular character/couple. The stories may differ storyline, feel and tone- but they all are set against the backdrop of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. And characters from the other books make appearances in this story, too. Even though you don’t have to have read the other two books in this series to be able to enjoy this one. I do recommend reading them anyway- because they are wonderful stories in their own rights and well worth the read, too! I think Ms. Montgomery is a gifted storyteller, easily pulling her readers into her story and keeping us connected and hooked from beginning to end. I love how her story depicts characters that are realistic, believable and at the same time promotes a body positive attitude that makes her work stand out from the crowd. As with all her other books, this is really well written, entirely captivating, and stands out from others in the same genre. I have a hard time picking one favourite from her books because they are all so great- but this one is definitely right at the top. I can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve for us next!

The Flip is a funny story that is not your typical romance story. The main characters, Andrew and Sonnet, went to school together starting in elementary school, but were hardly friends at all. Andrew teased Sonnet endlessly and when he wasn’t teasing her, he was ignoring her. Sonnet was only interested in learning, getting good grades and avoiding Andrew. They shared a common interest though growing up in Aunt Penny, Sonnet’s next door neighbor and Andrew’s great-aunt. As you can tell from the blurb, these two inherit a house that needs a little fixing up.
This story made me laugh out loud and even snicker several times. Especially when Andrew discovers what Sonnet is reading on her Kindle.
“I close out of the book so I can see the title on the screen along with the rest of the books on her virtual shelf. “Mountains Wanted?” I ask, eyebrows raised. “I bet there’s some metaphorical mountains involved,” I wink at her. “Fisher of Men? The Playground?”
Sonnet sounds like my type of reader friend!
Montgomery has a writing style that completely wraps me up and makes me forget everything around me. While this is book two in the Romance in Rehoboth series, it can be read as a standalone. I really loved reading this book and think you will too!
Fat Girl by K.L. Montgomery is a story, well more like a diary or a column in a paper, about a woman named Claire, who is separated from her husband. She thinks it is due to her weight. She’s the mother of a teenager and works hard at her job. She is turning 40 and really wants to change her body, her mind and her life and ends up changing her heart as well.
“All I need to do is find my own path to happiness. I have all the ingredients I need: a family, amazing friends, a job I love. The only thing that has been holding me back all this time is me. I haven’t let myself be happy.”
O.M.G. I’m a fat girl too!! Of course I already knew this but I swear Montgomery was in my head and heart while she was writing the “fat” parts of this story. While this “story” is a real eye opener, it was also entertaining. Claire is funny, outgoing and sarcastic! She grows a great deal and realizes two things: everyone’s fat is different, and even though we shouldn’t care what others think about us everyone still wants to be accepted and receive unconditional love.
“The point is being healthy, happy, and above all, yourself. Not making yourself crazy trying to be someone else’s idealized version of yourself,”
K.L. Montgomery is a new to me author so I’m not sure how her other books are written but this one hits the spot. Its funny, endearing, and honest. This story is definitely worth a read no matter what size you are!
