I enjoyed this second chance romance story. This is a new author for me, I look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is a well developed story about Ashton who is faced with a major decision concerning his life. He can either finish his last year at school or go for the record deal he has always wanted. Not only is he faced with this but Calla pops back up in his life. She took his heart when he was sixteen and now she is back but will she steal his heart again? Timing has never been on their side but will it be this time? I enjoyed the chemistry and attraction between these two. I felt bad for Ashton in parts because of what he is faced with. They really made the story for me. This is a fun and easy story to read. I highly recommend this book.

This is a short romance story about a student and professor who fall for each other. This is a new author for me, I look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is a well rounded story about Cassie. She is a student at Kirk University who has a determination to play hard and work harder. Romance is the last thing she expects or wants right now. As she spends time with her professor Valentine, feelings start growing. They have an attraction to each other but will they act on it? What will happen with these two? Will she get more from the professor than she ever expected? I enjoyed their chemistry together. They were so sweet together. I enjoyed what they brought to the story. I highly recommend reading their story.

I have to say that this is a really quick but very enjoyable read. This is also the first book I have read from this author and I was not disappointed. I have to say that the author really packs a punch in this short read. The characters come to life and the author does quite the job of packing just enough drama in this little story.
I like the chemistry between Tuck and Jess. I like how the attraction is there but there is a bit of hard to get mixed with dislike of attitude. I really like that in the end they come together. I really like the fact that this is a short read and that although short it was not shorting the reader. At the same time I wanted more. I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

Best Of My Love by N.D. Jackson is a Love in Emerald Creek novel. This is a second chance romance which some fantastic characters right at the heart of the story. For me Dre absolutely carried this story. She was such a strong and forthright person that I couldn’t help but connect with her. I wasn’t a huge fan of her and Erick but I did really enjoy the journey that she went on. And I couldn’t deny that the chemistry is there between the two of them. The author has done a great job in developing the story. It was an easy book to read and one I thoroughly enjoyed getting lost in foe a few hours. I always enjoy books by this author, with this one being no exception. I look forward to what is next.

I give 8 Second Ride by Shannon Nemechek 4 out of 5 stars. It is not my typical read, but it is quite enjoyable and the characters are relatable. At 40 pages, this story is quick and easy-to-read. Dakota “Tuck” McGraw is an ex-Army Ranger and hopeful National Rodeo Champion. His boss’s spoiled daughter, Jessie, is a thorn in his side, and they don’t agree on much, but that doesn’t last for long! Soon, the chemistry bubbles and as the two take a trip to Vegas for the National Rodeo Championship. What starts out as a rocky relationship, turns steamy and the tension is palpable. This is a recommended read!

Strings Attached is a Friends to Lovers contemporary romance novel by Loriana Cappello. Before reading Strings Attached I had never read any of Loriana Cappello’s writing but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely read more from this author. Ashton Chamber and Calla Bryson were friends at school and both had a crush on each other but never did anything about is as Ashton’s best friend Scott made it clear that he wanted Calla. Several years on and Calla is about to start her last year at university and Ashton has to choose whether to complete his last year at university or leave and sign a record contract with his band Koolum Law. He’s finding it hard enough to make the decision without adding Calla to the mix. I loved reading Ashton and Calla’s story. There is so much more going on than just their budding romance. There’s a LOT of family stuff going on to. I won’t go into it as it I don’t give spoilers but let me just say, it makes compelling reading. Calla and Ashton are both amazing characters. I totally fell in love with both of them and was desperate for them to have their much deserved HEA. I would definitely recommend this book to others as it had me hooked from the very beginning and kept me captivated and entertained right up to the end.

After reading Dance of Hearts by Byrd Nash, I didn’t think I could love a book more. Well, I was wrong. Price of a Rose is spellbinding and pulled me in to the point that I felt I was the main character. I was living the life of Rose and I didn’t want it to end. I truly couldn’t put this book down. I was up almost all night to finish reading it. And that’s something I don’t really do anymore considering I have to be at work at 8 AM. But it was SO WORTH THE LACK OF SLEEP!!! I must admit, Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney fairytale of all time, but this put such a spin on the story that I think I love it more than the original. And that’s me being 100% honest and something I never imagined I would say. There is love and a happily ever after to this story, but with so many twists and turns I never could have seen this ending coming. Byrd once again sends us back into the 1800’s with a third person retelling that is reminiscent of the 1991 animated film. It’s a very short story but the attention to details and the characters keep you entranced and feeling like it’s you. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK ENOUGH! Please, please, please give this book a read.

Robert Nathaniel Parker is a man who tries to get what he wants, but he is seldom successful and his run of bad luck continues when he is caught trying to steal a rose bush from a neighbouring landowner, one who is known locally as being a beast of a man, but when he is invited in to see the master, he is treated as a guest and offered wine and a game of cards, just as he seems to be winning, he bets his daughters against this rose bush, however, his luck doesn’t hold yet again and he loses the bet, now he just has to tell his three daughters Lily, Rose and Poppy about the situation. As usual, he leaves it up to his eldest to break the bad news, so she tells her other sisters and they work out a plan to uphold the results of their fathers mistake, but in such a way as the rest of the villagers don’t suspect the truth of the situation.
The next day, Lily and Rose go to see the owner of the mansion and while Lily goes in to see the beast himself, she agrees to be his housekeeper in the time between then and when she leaves to be married, reluctantly the beastly man agrees, but without knowing that he is a Parker, as she goes to introduce herself to the household and take a look around the enchanting of not deteriorating interior, the master goes outside and finds Rose in the garden. Rose is obsessed with the outdoors and sees beauty and intrigue in the dilapidated gardens, so when she is approached by the master of the house, she introduces herself and her agreement with him ends up being that she shall work in the garden to restore it to its previous beauty which is no laughing matter as it is in as bad of a state as the house.
As time goes on and the two sisters get on with their jobs in the house, their youngest sister Poppy makes the acquaintance of the master and when caught in his library and seeing that he is having troubles writing his letters, Poppy ends up being his secretary, but she is using that as a front purely to read his books, especially the ones to do with magic to try and remove the curse. The house contains many secrets and as the sisters continue to stay around the estate, experiencing them first hand in some cases, can they work out how to break the curse, or will an unexpected visitor derail all their attempts at restoring happiness to the grand estate and it’s master? This is a sweet retelling of beauty and the beast full of romance, magic and mystery.

Hacker is the second book in The Mercenaries series by Nadine Travers who is writing under the pseudonym of Raven White. This is another romantic suspense- with an alpha male, the mafia, drama, danger, action, complex characters, banter, camaraderie, suspense, and sizzling chemistry. This is definitely my favourite of the series, so far. I don’t want to give too much away and spoil it for you, plus the blurb does a better job of whetting your appetite than I ever could- but I recommend going in a bit blind and letting the author, characters, and story surprise you. If you like romantic suspense with sizzling chemistry, alpha males, action, and danger- then this is the book for you!

The Executive’s Decision is the first book in the Keller Family series by Bernadette Marie. It is a contemporary office romance- with drama, family, banter, humour, betrayal, love, and some spice. I really wanted to love this book, as office romance is normally my jam. But unfortunately I didn’t connect with the characters, they just succeeded in frustrating me so badly that I wanted to shake them- and because of that I found it extremely difficult to invest in them and the outcome of their story. There were elements of the story that I did enjoy- such as the banter and family dynamics, but overall, this fell a little short for me. But please don’t let my opinion put you off, as I have been on a bit of a dark romance/fiction binge of late, which may have impacted my opinion of this book. I have decided to reread this book in a few weeks to see if I till feel the same way.

Victorian romance novels are not my thing but I will give almost any spin of a fairytale retelling a try… I recently read Byrd Nash’s Dance of Hearts and enjoyed the Cinderella tale, I couldn’t pass up a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Price of a Rose did not disappoint! There is so much to be loved about this novella. For a tale as old as time, it’s hard to see it retold with a unique spin but Byrd Nash hit this one out of the park. I love that the story involves three sisters, each with something different to offer. It doesn’t hurt that Rose is the middle daughter, much like yours truly… I love the fairy element as well. I would definitely recommend this 4 star story to anyone that enjoys light hearted, fun, clean romance. Added points if you adore historical romances.

This is my first read by Ms. Cappello, so I really didn’t know what to expect going into the story. What I discovered is that Ms. Cappello has an easy and inviting writing style that made this an enjoyable read. A story of reunited friends, duty + responsibility vs matters of the heart, a summer fling, and finding love unexpectedly.

It is loosely based on a classic fairytale with Ms. Johns giving a modern, unique, and and dark spin to Rapunzel. It is full of angst, drama, heartache, sizzle, emotion, and surprising developments. This is a story of love, loss, and second chances. Braxton Knight is a well-known celebrity chef, but achieving his success has come at a a huge cost. Heartbreak had him reassessing things- but will he get a second chance? This is well worth the read to find out.

8 Second Ride is a woderful Short Story by Shannon Nemechek. This book is forty pages long and can be read in about a half hour. I have enjoyed all of Shannon”s books, but I really needed a pick- me -up today and this book really did the job. The characters were real and down to earth. The dialog is witty, and had me laughing out loud. This book is an all around great read.

I read Learning to Live in two days, and I’m not an uncommonly fast reader. I just couldn’t put the book down. I’m also the type that prefers going into a book completely blind. I really hate spoilers, so most of the time I’ll only go into it with only the title, author, cover art and genre. When I picked up Learning to Live, I knew that it was a romance novel, so I assumed it was about a woman “learning to live” after escaping an abusive relationship. Instead, the story I got was a wildly different YA, coming of age. I loved every moment of it and spent the last 30% of the novel holding back tears. There’s a quote from the main character, Ciera, that’s very fitting: “I love how romance authors can make you feel every emotion in their books, and you feel invested in the characters. By the end of the story, you feel as if you know them on some kind of personal level, and you mourn the loss of them when it’s over.” In this way, Kira Adams gets everything right. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a rich, compelling story about learning to live and how to love. My only nitpick is that there should have been a warning for graphic bullying, nudity and for being sexually explicit. I do not believe that any of these elements were gratuitous or unnecessary to the plot, but it’s important to respect the boundaries and expectations of readers. There is a disclaimer in the online synopsis, but not in the book itself.

I love a good second chance romance and this book has everything that I love about them. Seconds by Cam Johns is part of the Internet Famous series. This retelling of Rapunzel with a dark twist will have karma biting back. I wasn’t expecting this book to have me so intrigued and have me wanting more. Braxton Knight has a dark backstory that will break your heart but watching him fight to pull his life together was heartwarming.
This is not my first book by Shannon Nemechek and it will not be my last. 8 Second Ride is a short story that is realistic. The plotline is a simple story about a spoiled daddy’s girl, Jessie whose dad told his employee Tuck that she has to go with him to the rodeo finals. Tuck is on his way to win a buckle but he has Jessie in his path. Can Tuck put Jessie out of his mind while he is on his 8-second ride or will Jessie be the only thing on his mind? Will Jessie take it easy on Tuck so he can win his buckle or will she be annoying? Is there something else brewing between them? I highly recommend you read this book to see how everything works out.

8 Second Ride By Shannon Nemechek ☆☆☆☆☆ Spoiled and Daddys Girl,WOW! Is my first response after reading this short story. But don’t let the length of this story change your mind on reading this book. It is just the right book for a quick read. Jessie Flanagan is spoiled rotten and gets what she wants when she wants it. She does not care who is standing in front of her, she will take it. Mean and spoiled not a good combination. Tuck however is the nicest cowboy around. He wants to follow in his father’s footsteps. He wants that 8 second ride and the buckle that goes with it. . Can these two get along? Is Jessie really that spoiled daddy’s girl she wants everybody to believe?
Shannon Nemechek has written this quick read. She left nothing out, this story has it all. The girl, the boy and the steamy romance. The characters and the story go together perfectly. Jessie and Tuck are complete opposites, working to just get along. But sometimes the inside is much different than the outside. I am looking forward to reading more from Shannon Nemechek! Her books leave you wanting more. Well Done Shannon Nemechek! Well Done.

I’ve read books by Byrd Nash prior so I knew I’d be hooked on this book before I even started it. I wasn’t disappointed. She did such a great job with this retelling of Beauty and the Beast. In this book, the beast isn’t presented with 1 girl, but 4 of them. This is basically saying that true love, or love if it’s there, doesn’t matter how many other people try to get in the way. I love the word building Ms. Nash has and I get excited when I see another of her books pop up. For sure read her series Historical Fantasy Fairytale Retellings, they are worth every second.

Seconds by Cam Johns is the sixth standalone novel in the Internet Famous Collection, and was a really good read! For the first chapter or so I thought I was missing some information on the first chapter or so, but as you read through it, that missing information becomes clearer. This is definitely an adult novel, not only for the romance but also some other content towards the end. This book was very immersive, and I found myself rushing to finish, and find out what the conclusion was. For such a short novel, this one was packed full of entertaining content. I definitely recommend this one and can’t wait to read more in the future!
I fell in love with this book from the beginning chapter and honestly I couldn’t stop reading it. I would start doing housework and immediately return to reading this book. That’s how much I loved it. I needed to be Cinderella getting chores done but was so immersed in her world I couldn’t. There were so many references to the original Cinderella that made this a fairytale mixed with old English language. I am a sucker for fairytale romances and this one put a spell on me. I found it to be a very sweet romantic fantasy with some magic, history, paranormal & drama mixed into it. Not to mention the typical fantasy of a damsel in distress, but in a woman supporting woman manner which is important today because there is such a lack of it in my opinion. The writing is full of so much wit and humor, but they come in just the right places at just the right times. I absolutely cannot wait to read more from this author as she is new to me. But she drew me right in to her tale and I can’t wait to see what other surprises she has in store for me.
